Into the Rubi-Verse
I really like all the TADC AUs I've been seeing so I wanted to imagine what my OC Rubi would look like in them all. This has been a project in the works for at least a month now ^v^"
For reference, this is what Rubi originally looks like
And for good measure, here's Canon?Rubi's relations with the other canon cast (chart made by @p1nkiep4rasites)
Tumblr media
Now lets hop into the multiverse!~
Tumblr media
Boxer!Rubi is a tank with a brain and two left feet, so no matter how hard her hits are and how solid their plan is, it usually all comes crumbling down because of a trip
Differentiating features from "canon": outfit, bigger paws that mimic boxer gloves, heart tattoo on hip, can fight
The Amazing Digital Fight Club is by @burrotello
Tumblr media
Skater!Rubi is the other graffiti artist in town, alongside Zooble, and usually only participates in the skate derby when it runs out of paint or the battery to their DS is dead. She rides a windsurfer (also known as street sailing; its basically a skateboard with a sail)
Differentiating features from "canon": outfit, tooth gap, star stickers, can skateboard
The Amazing Digital Skate Park is by @g00bergoo
Tumblr media
Lab!Rubi is a guardian fallen angel, banished from heaven when it became too attached to the human it was meant to protect. The final straw was when it almost showed itself as a last-ditch effort to save it's human from the cultist trap she was being lead to.
It was held back by other angels before it could though, and it had to watch as she was killed. That was the first time an angel cried in almost 100 years.
Sent to earth, it wandered for a long while before finding the Incredulously Experimental Monster Lab and decided to stay there while it continues to look for her spirit. She feels so close, it'll be any day now when it finds her...
Differentiating features from "canon": Cube head is now multi-colored tesseracts, three eyes, outfit, wings, rings, and other things
The monster lab AU is by @etanow
Tumblr media
Carnival!Rubi is a gentler AI originally coded for a younger audience who couldn't yet play the main Carnival, who was later added to the main game by popular demand.
Her "neckpiece" is a bow-tie on her collar, since she has no neck to tie anything around. Attempting to pull it off gives a choking sensation, as if being strangled, and can eventually lead to passing out.
By the time Caine appears in the Carnival, she's been keeping herself locked in her room, barring entry to everyone, including Gangle whom she used to be good friends with (and maybe more..?). There should've been no way for Caine to get in, but he does, and is met with a sorry sight [maybe he uses some coding magic idk-]
Differentiating features from "canon": outfit, is an A.I.
The Amazing Digital Carnival is by @sm-baby
Tumblr media
Slasher!Rubi used to be a famous horror game streamer/GameTuber, before her sudden disappearance.... and now, she's stuck in a virtual slasher hell with no escape in sight.
At least in between the daily hunts she can find solace in people who are like her, for once... ironically less lonely than her life before...
Differentiating features from "canon": outfit, was a famous gamer
The Amazing Digital Slasher is by @justwantswafflefries

hello! Im visiting Copenhagen in January and was wondering if you have any recommendations of things to do or like cafes/stores/etc to visit?
Hi nonnie! So sorry for the delayed answer, I was down with the flu/plague/?? most of december so I've only just gotten back to my inbox.
I've tried to make a compilation of the recommendations for places to see, eat, and shop that aren't just the usual touristy stuff. I hope you enjoy your trip and the weather won't be too Copenhagen-in-January!
Where to eat (especially bakeries)
Sct. Peders Bageri – The oldest bakery in Denmark! They have a wonderful selection of traditional Danish baked goods but their seasonal varieties are also incredible.
BUKA – They have a few bakeries in town now and some of the best croissants and pastries.
Cakery Copenhagen – The best eclairs in town, hands down. Always a bunch of fun seasonal varieties and mini versions.
Bertels Salon – They do cheesecakes. And they’re amazing. They have 10+ fresh varieties every day (!) and turned me into a cheesecake lover.
La Glace – They do traditional Danish layer cakes and fancy patisseries as well as hot chocolate ad libitum. Very atmospheric and historic. A bit more expensive all in all but not insanely so.
Torvehallerne – Two large greenhouses full of delicious food and other food/drink related stores. Coffee Collective for coffee, Rørt for Danish smørrebrød, Granny’s House for pastries and Ma Poule for their famous duck sandwich.
Broens Gadekøkken – A small street food market right by the bridge across from Nyhavn. Depending on when you’re here, there’s also an ice skating rink set up during winter.
Mahalle - Lebanese fusion kitchen at affordable prices. You might want to book a table just in case.
Jagger - Burgers! Not the most hyggelige surroundings (a bit too industrial chic) but you can't argue with the food. Highly recommend the milkshakes!
What to see
Glyptoteket – Absolutely gorgeous museum. Free entrance on the last Wednesday of the month.
Thorvaldsens Museum – Also stunning, focused on statues. Free entrance all Wednesdays.
Nationalmuseet – Bog bodies! Their seasonal exhibitions are usually very good.
David’s samling – Smaller museum with free entrance. Classical European and Islamic art.
Kronborg – AKA Hamlet’s castle. Technically outside Copenhagen but you can easily take the train the whole way. I highly recommend doing one of the daily guided tours (no additional cost to the entrance fee).
Rundetårn – A fun look into the old astrology tower with a lovely view of the city. The majority of the inside is one big ramp with some narrow stairs at the end so keep that in mind if you have trouble walking.
Assistentens Kirkegård digital guided tour – If the weather is with you, you can go for a digitally guided tour in the old graveyard, located in a park in the middle of the city. Here’s a link for the app.
Other nice parks in case it's not raining the whole time (Danes love going for a walk, what can I say) include the Botanical Garden, Frederiksberg Have (where you can peek into the elephant enclosure in the zoo) and Kongens Have.
To shop
Vintage shopping: There’s a bunch of good quality vintage stores on Studiestræde and Larsbjørnsensstræde. Also worth a mention is Audrey Vintage on Hyskenstræde, run by a woman who handpicks all the items from all around Europe.
Strøget is the place for high street shopping but I definitely recommend having a look around the inner city’s side streets and down Frederiksborggade (check out the home goods store Maduro here) over the lakes to Nørrebro where you’ll also find some more offbeat stores and great bars and restaurants.
The largest bookstore is Arnold Busck on Købmagergade for books in both Danish and English. Fiolstræde close by has the independent book café Brøg that I highly recommend both for books and for a quick cake + coffee. On Fiolstræde you’ll also find some used bookstores with a variety of options and other smaller shops and cafés.

3 Piece Bash - Eudora, AR
Tumblr media
Who knew that four friends from a small town would come up with an event that ten years later is still enjoyed by a small southern town? Wow! This small southern town in Chicot County, Arkansas is certainly grateful. The event is called the “3 Piece Bash” and it is Eudora, Arkansas.
Eudora, Arkansas was incorporated February 8, 1904.  According to https://EncyclopediaofArkansas.net there was a steady population growth. The growth lasted from 1904 until the 1980's. In the 1980's the population peaked at around 4,000 people. From the 1990's onward there has been a sturdy decline and now the population is around 1700, according to the 2020 census.
Eudora, Arkansas has the charms of a southern small town and also some of the issues. In 2007 the High School in Eudora, Arkansas closed. The closest option was around 18 miles away in Lake Village, Arkansas. There is very little recreation in Eudora (unless you love to fish). Eudora has a skating rink, a children's museum, and a few more things but there is not a lot to do for young people.
In 2014, four friends; Reeko Mayberry, Fisamuel Reggans, Anthony Johnson, and Kentirus Drew came up with a great idea. To put together a safe event for the residents of Eudora and surrounding areas. Current and past residents are able to come out and enjoy the festivities. This includes a car show, basketball tournament, food and craft vendors. There are also other events that make up a whole weekend.
I was able to speak to Reeko and I asked who the organizers were and what made them decide to create this event. Reeko said, “Back in 2014 we all decided that we wanted to give back to the community and give the town something to look forward to annually.” I must say that based on comments from other individuals, they have done so. I also had the pleasure of speaking with a resident that happens to be an entrepreneur as well. His name is Kenneth Reed Jr. aka Kenny and he is a photographer, digital designer, and marketing specialist. I asked Kenneth, as a potential vendor and also a member of the community, "what business opportunities are afforded for vendors and visitors alike?" Kenny said, “The business opportunities are pretty fair. The vending prices are cheap.” He mentioned that once these fees are paid, they allow business owners to “have free range” when it comes to their location at the venue. “The guys are real communicative”, he also mentioned.
Speaking on behalf of those that visit from other areas, Blake Canada had something to say. Blake says, “Yes, absolutely I will be attending the 3pc Bash. Why, because it's (a) great family oriented event where the whole town and other towns come together and just have a great time. The atmosphere is amazing. No fussing, no fighting, just smiles, laughs and a real good time. Let's not forget about the good food and drinks.” Blake is from a neighboring town of about 18 miles away but the event has visitors that come from quite a distance away.
While speaking to other attendees via Facebook, they say that it has been great and that they are definitely planning on going in upcoming years.
For those that are worried about security, every year the local police force is at the events. They secure all the events during the entire weekend. It is said to be fun for all, but especially those around their 50's and lower. All are invited and welcomed.
Are they going to be seeing you at the event this year? I think I am going to bring my camera and check it out. The going consensus is that it will be safe and fun. I am going to put on my sunscreen just in case. It will be held the weekend of May 24th - 26th in Eudora, Arkansas at the City park. It is located on Highway 65 in Eudora. You can't miss the park if you tried.
For those interested in becoming vendors for this event. This article will be updated with contact information as the event gets closer.

Article: 'How EA is transforming the way it makes video games'
Group GM Samantha Ryan on EA’s efforts to be more transparent and more open to what its developers want to create
An interesting interview article from today with the group GM for BioWare, on some cultural & organizational changes within EA.
BioWare-specific excerpts:
“The goal is to give a stronger voice to studio leadership,” explains Samantha Ryan, who is the group GM for BioWare, Full Circle, Maxis, Motive and a new studio in Seattle. [...] “Yes, we all need to be aware of market trends. Players and games are constantly evolving. But that doesn’t mean that we have to chase every trend willy nilly. BioWare can make amazing single-player games with strong stories. Full Circle can create a digital skate park that’s freely open to any player anywhere. They are each unique and will be stronger studios when they are true to themselves.” [...] During development of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, BioWare formed a 'Community Council' of fans to ensure they were heading in the right direction. And with Dead Space, Motive hosted livestreams to showcase in-development footage."

Skating at ‘S’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
context: How your boyfriend would teach/train you for your ‘S’ tournament.
Tumblr media
Reki
-Reki would teach you how to skate for S in the same sense that he taught Langa how to. He would demonstrate moves for you and then allow you to take the floor and try It yourself.
-Of course you end up falling and busting your ass quite often, but Reki will still cheer you on and encourage you to keep going from the sidelines.
-Reki will spend all night crafting a skateboard that he thinks would be comfortable for you to ride on. He designs It with things that he knows that you like and really puts his whole heart into making It as special as possible since It’s for you.
-During your training sessions, he would search up skating videos that he believes are really good and will pull you close so you can see them. The both of you stare at the screen with sparkles in your eyes as you see a person perform a cool trick and you would be so inspired that you’d have to give it a go yourself.
-Reki would also take you to an S race so you can see firsthand how the skating world operates. At first you think that It’s insane and you kind of regret getting yourself into this, but when you see Reki fly past you with his face focused and determined, your heart would start racing in excitement and for a split second you think that skating against someone wouldn’t be as bad as you thought.
-Reki can not wait to show you tricks that he’s been practicing over the years. He shows you how to Kickflip and Ollie, and the ginormous smile on his face as he’s teaching you let’s you see that skating is something he really loves.
-Everyday with Reki is something to look forward to and you appreciate how much he’s been preparing you. He waits for you at the park as he looks down at his phone, but the minute he sees you his whole body perks up. He’d give you a high five and the both of you would drop your skateboards, riding to the secret hideout with him reassuring you that you’ll do great in your race.
Langa
-Langa is a good skater, but his teaching could use a bit of work.
-Langa would recognize that he probably isn’t the best person to be assigned the role of a coach, so he would recommend Reki to help you, but you would insist that it’s him that teaches you.
-He’s super flattered that you want him to help you skate and would finally agree with a small smile now on his face.
-However, by the first day of practice you realize that Langa is absolutely terrible at explaining things.
-Langa’s teaching methods tend to intersect with how he would snowboard. He will constantly slip up and use snowboarding lingo or skate as If he’s on top of snow, and he would have to remind himself to teach in a way that you would understand.
-He would try to demonstrate a move for you once he sees that you’re still not getting it, but the board would end up sliding just as he steps on It, and he’d fall flat on his face.
-Yeah, you always have the first-aid on deck whenever you’re around Langa.
-But Langa insists that despite how bad he is at teaching, skating at S is the most exhilarating thing he’s done. He would tell you about how he’s won most of his races, and at first you would be a bit skeptical since he can barely stand on his board without hurting himself.
-It wouldn’t be until you saw him in action at S that you would finally see just how graceful and how much of a fast learner he truly is. You were inspired and you made a goal to be just like Langa when competing in your S race.
-You would then try to mimic his moves during practice one day and Langa would be so surprised to see you actually getting the hang of it. He would start clapping and shouting loudly for you to keep going because you honestly looked amazing.
-Once you finished your performance, you would stop right in front of Langa and the two of you dap each other with large smiles because you knew that you had this race in the bag.
Cherry
-First, what were you thinking? And second, why ask him of all people?
-Cherry would at first decline teaching you because he honestly had better things to do, but he would eventually give in when you hit him with the puppy eyes.
-He has such a soft spot for you and it irritates him so much that you have him wrapped around your finger.
-Cherry would be a very strict and punctual teacher, one who will immediately point out your flaws and give you precise advice on how to fix them. This is S we’re talking about so there is no room for mistakes.
-You guys would be on a schedule, most likely training in the morning and the afternoons.
-Cherry would be somewhere in the shade, sipping from his drink calmly as you’re literally screaming at the top of your lungs as you zoom down the hill on your skateboard.
-Cherry would peak over his sunglasses at your body that was now stuck in a bush, but once he saw your legs slightly twitch, he’d come to the conclusion that you were okay although you clearly weren’t.
-He would get you your own technology based skateboard and you would be blown away at all the cool stuff It can do as you ride It. With this, he also gives you a digital layout of the obstacle courses so you know what to expect when it’s time to compete.
-Cherry would definitely be surprised when he comes out to your usual spot early one morning just to see you already practicing. You would have your balance down, be able to dodge obstacles, and be able to control your speed.
-You looked like a full fledged pro to say the least.
-Cherry would give you a half smirk as he stood and watched you, hiding It behind his fan.
-He was beyond impressed and would be slightly convinced that you could actually have a shot at winning your match.
Joe
-Joe is super chill when he’s teaching you how to skate for S.
-He will help you get on the board and hold on to your body as he slowly guides you, slyly releasing you from his embrace once he’s figured you got the hang of it.
-He would keep quiet when he’s watching you, but once he sees that you’re really struggling, he will eventually tell you what your problem is and offer some advice.
-Definitely the type to close his eyes with his hands behind his head, trying not to laugh as he hears the curses and shouts come from your mouth as you continuously fail.
-It reminds him of the time when he first entered a S match and how hard he worked himself to win.
-However, the minute you say that you want to give up, he would sit down next to you and give you words of encouragement. He’ll probably even show you a video that he sneakily took of you and would rave about how great your skills were improving, even If you couldn’t really see the difference.
-If you still needed motivation, he would lazily get up from his spot and show you how it's done. You would be blown away by how effortlessly he skates, as well as how he’s not afraid to take chances.
-You would also roll your eyes because that man is such a show off. His shirt just had to come off, huh?
-You would eventually get the hang of It and Joe would notice almost instantly. He’s very proud of you and would mutter something under his breath like “I knew you could do It.”
-After you finish skating, he takes you to his restaurant and cooks you a big meal. He’ll be laughing loudly as he tells you how great you’ll do at S tomorrow, plopping some spaghetti in his mouth as he cheeses at you.

An Incriminating Blush - Moniwa x Reader
Summary: As you finally allow Moniwa to help you with your project, you wonder if the guy you've fallen for would ever like you back.
Pairing: Moniwa x f!reader
Genres, tropes, etc.: fluff, pining, getting together, friends to lovers, second year Moniwa
Words: 1,461
Author's Notes: I'm back to writing for an underrated character. lol. Another one of those, 'I don't know if anyone will read it but I'm going to write it anyway' lol. It's been a long time since I've written something so if you're on my taglist and aren't interested anymore, just let me know through this Google doc.
Author's note 2: This is the one-shot version of the Operation Moniwa SMAU that I dropped. This fic is pure romance though. I couldn't keep up the comedy in the SMAU. lol.
*****
Biting his lip as he held the stylus, Moniwa's hand glided over your drawing tablet, outlining the roof of the cafe.
"I told you to stop drawing," you remembered Moniwa scolding you the day before.
You sighed, watching him as he continued to draw on the digital canvas. You preferred to do the work by yourself, but Moniwa's offers were persistent because you often took on too much work. Even with your school's art festival coming up soon, you continued to refuse his help until you finally injured your wrist.
Your eyes fell on Moniwa's arm and hand as he continued to draw strokes on the awnings. Two of his knuckles were wrapped with tape from a toss gone wrong. A splinter from woodworking class made its mark on his thumb. Yet his fingers moved precisely from the abundant practice from creating technical drawings.
Looking at his furrowed brows, you admired the man you had fallen for. "You're really good at this," you commented with a gentle smile.
Still focused on the drawing, Moniwa replied with a wide grin, "I told you to let me help."
You laughed, expecting this answer. "How's the volleyball team doing?" you asked.
Moniwa sighed and slumped back on his chair as he reflected on their recent team meeting. "They made me the captain for the spring tournament," he told you. "The third years decided to retire to focus on school."
"That really suits you," you laughed.
"You haven't seen what my kouhais are like," he said. "Those first years are going to give me so much trouble."
"I'm a first year too," you said with a smirk.
After thinking for a moment, he replied, "That explains a lot."
You laughed and punched his arm in response. "So how are the other guys doing? Sasaya? Kamasaki?"
"Oh them?" he hummed. "They've been trying to set me up with someone...," he explained, words trailing.
You felt your stomach tighten, knowing exactly why. You ignored it. "That's sweet of them," you said with a smile.
"I thought so too at first. But then it got awkward, so I told them to stop," he continued. "Especially when I found out it was you..." Moniwa suddenly pressed his lips together, realizing he said too much. "Sorry! I shouldn't have told you that!" he explained in a fluster. "Now I'm just making it more awkward," he added, slapping his own forehead.
"No! No! It's okay!" you reassured him. "It's not awkward at all," you lied. You had always thought that Moniwa had only seen you as a friend, which was why you continued to hide your feelings from him. You were content enough to continue with your unexpected friendship with him. You held it close to your heart, attempting to protect it from cracking under your care.
After Moniwa left, you sat on your bed, the mattress sinking under your weight. Heaving a sigh, you wondered if you should move on. You've liked Moniwa since you had met him at the skating park a year ago, before you had entered high school. You shook your head, wishing to direct your mind elsewhere only to start scrolling through your past messages with him.
Moniwa was eager to help you when your skateboard broke. The axel was rusted and caused the front wheels to be unstable. You tried to use it anyway, only to be met with frustration. The skateboard was a gift from your eighth birthday. You had it for six years.
When Moniwa said he could salvage it, you didn't believe him, especially since he was only a year older than you. With scrap metal from projects and access to the machines at school, your next skateboard ride was smooth as if it were new again.
Lying on your bed, you shifted and faced the other way. You knew Moniwa was the kind of guy who'd help anyone. But when he started helping your classmate, Ami, with her theatre set, you couldn't help but be jealous. You knew he must have been busy constructing it, which was one of the reasons why you initially rejected his help. But he continued to insist, especially after you injured your wrist. You couldn't help but feel a little special, only to remember that this was normal for his personality.
Sighing, you thought that maybe it was enough to just be friends.
*****
It was 7 o’clock in the evening when you popped your head into the back theatre room. You saw Moniwa from the hallway after leaving your own classroom. With the school festival a week away, Moniwa was alone putting together the large pieces of the ship deck for the play.
The deck was about six feet wide. There was just barely enough room for it because one side of the room was filled with rows of costumes while the far side was filled shelves of various props. You spotted a decorative mirror, a Victorian dress, and a few jousting swords.
You gave Moniwa a large wave to get his attention. His eyes lit up when he saw you and he placed his power drill on his work table once he finished fastening the screw. “What are you doing here?” he asked.
“I finished up my tasks for our class’s activities. So I ran away before the class president could nag me to do more work,” you laughed as you shuffled into the room. “I only wanted to take a break and see what everyone else was working on.”
Moniwa smiled, giving a light tap on your head. “Y/n, you should go back. You’re always running away from your class prez.”
You pouted, rubbing your head to pretend you were hurt. “And I thought I left the nagging.”
“Then you shouldn’t have come here,” he said with a smug grin.
You heard chatter and footsteps from the hallway and quickly pushed Moniwa further into the room. After taking a few steps back, Moniwa stumbled on some costumes that were on the floor and he barely caught himself when he almost tripped on them. You also slipped but Moniwa’s chest and arms prevented you from falling.
Lifting your eyes to meet his, you remembered that Moniwa looked taller when he wasn’t beside his giant teammates. But as your gaze focused on him, he quickly turned his head away from you. He didn't realize that his action did very little to hide his face. After glancing to the side to the decorative standing mirror, your eyes widened.
"Moniwa…," you said. "Are you blushing?"
"N-n-no I'm not!" he stuttered, frantically waving his arms. But it was obvious to you because he had turned his face back to you, now seeing an even clearer view of his red nose and cheeks.
When you raised an eyebrow, he promptly covered his face with his hands and threw his head back in defeat. "Sorry Y/n," said his muffled voice. "Pretend you didn't see that."
You saw him bite his lip as he turned away from you, presumably to leave the room. When you grabbed his hand, he froze. You felt his hand clam up.
"What if I don't want to pretend," you told him. Moniwa turned to you, blinking a few times, your words not making any sense to him. So you clarified. "Moniwa, I like you."
At first, he froze. He was so stiff that you thought he wouldn't move even if you were to give him a poke. But when he came to, his words rushed out of his mouth in a fluster. "What? Why would you like me? You're smart and pretty and talented and fun to be around…" He continued to ramble. "And I'm plain and boring and not very strong and–"
You quickly cut him off when you hugged his waist and relaxed onto his chest. He liked you. You couldn't believe he liked you. Moniwa just didn't understand how amazing he was. You were pretty sure Ami liked him as well. You sighed, wishing you had noticed his insecurities earlier. You've been watching him for at least a year. You felt like you should have known.
You laughed, more out of relief than amusement. He liked you back. All those memories of you anguishing over your unrequited feelings suddenly vanished and were replaced with joy. He liked you.
Moniwa flailed his arms when you fastened your hold even tighter on his waist. He quickly scanned the room, nervous that others might have seen.
"So are you going to hug me back or not?" you asked.
"I- Is that okay?"
You gave him a smirk, then a peck on the cheek. "Of course."
You once again saw that blush that you were waiting months to finally see. A blush reserved only for you.
*****
I hope you liked it. If you like my stories, here's a Google form to be added to my taglist and/ or check out my masterlist to see all of my writing.
Taglist: @celestialarchiveshq @whootwhoot @charmingchikara @megumiisee @anejuuuuoy @pastel-prynce + @iwaisa (because it's Moniwa)

Request/Summary: Kurt is obsessive over a model and kidnaps her, taking her along for the ride of the night.
After
The flurry of phones ringing off the hook and background noise felt foreign to you, it was just a buzzing in your ear. You pulled the safety blanket around you closer, grabbing it in fistfuls. You don’t know how long you’ve been here, but it feels like hours. The fluorescent in the room probably only made you look even worse for wear than you were hours before, but it didn’t matter now. In a span of 24 hours, your life had changed.
The guarded door opened and an officer pulled up a chair in front of you, dropping photos of the gruesome scene you’d seen firsthand. She slides the photos closer, her thumb obscuring the killer’s face. You didn’t need to see it a second time.
“You were found in the residence of Mr. Kunkle, with one Jessie Adams and a John Doe, who seems to have been the victim of Mr. Kunkle’s spree amongst others.”
Even his name brings chills down your spine.
“I already told the police everything.” You say groggily, your throat still sore from the whole ordeal.
“Yes, but there seems to be some doubt on your partnership with Mr. Kunkle. Footage, eyewitness accounts,” she’s studying you no doubt. Any sort of tick or movement you made without thought that could somehow lead her to think you were lying about anything you had explained earlier.
“What was your relationship with Mr. Kunkle?” She pries, bringing multiple photos of Kurt to be splayed out in front of you. Some good, some bad, some….disturbing.
“I - none. He just knew me through the socials.”
“And you were also the target of his mania.” There’s something unsettling in how much she’s liking interrogating you. You ignore it.
“You think it’s my fault he did this.”
It was not your fault. None of this was. Kurt was just too power hungry. Maybe you were too trusting. You didn’t want to see Kurt for what he really was until it was too late.
“I’m not saying it’s your fault, but your compliance does seem suspicious.”
“I-I didn’t know him very well. He was just my Spree driver for a day. But he was always nice to me.”
“He was also your kidnapper.”
“Like I said, he was a nice guy.” Your voice breaks.
They’re all nice guys until they aren’t.
“And you didn’t think to call the authorities when you were alone? Were you helping him lure these people?”
You can feel her eyes burning into you.
“I’m not stupid,” you cry. “I know how this sounds. But I’m telling you, he gave me a ride and then he - all of this. Oh God.”
You bring your shaky hands to run through your worn and tired face, specks of dried blood still prominent even through many washes with soap. It’s another way Kurt managed to stay with you.
“Let’s start at the beginning,” she sits back with her arms folded. “And spare no detail.”
Tumblr media
Before
He scrolls through your feed for the millionth time today.
Photos of you on your daily walks, exploring hidden LA gems, posting places you were shooting at, people you were hanging out with, all at the touch of a button for him. The bell notification alerts him, telling him that you’ve posted. He taps the screen in the blink of an eye, meeting your face as you giggle about falling while skating.
You pout as you show the damage, remarking that it was lucky you weren’t shooting that day otherwise you would’ve had to cover up on such a hot day.
In a vain industry, you try to keep yourself humble and that’s what he loves about you. Though he’s never met you, he thinks you could live up to the image he’s created of you. One that matches your optimistic and humorous one.
He re watches your story, pausing at random moments where he screenshots and saves to his photos. His home screen is a shot of you in black and white, seemingly topless from chest down and looking back with an enticing smile. He loves the way your hair frames your face, the way pieces of it were meticulously picked out to give it a sort of messy look.
You could make anything look good, he thinks.
Bobby gives him a hard time about you, bragging about how he knows you and that although you’re more well known than he is, you are the one who should be grateful for his exposure.
Kurt thinks it’s bullshit but he wouldn’t be surprised if it were true, maybe you’d come around to meet him one day.
The vibration of a text brings him out of his daze, seeing Bobby’s name in big bold letters.
He can’t believe his eyes when he opens the text. It’s an off guard video of you behind Bobby, giggling at something on your phone before noticing that he’s recording and flashing a cheeky smile and a peace sign.
“Found your girlfriend.” Bobby mocks before erupting into hysterical laughter.
Kurt replays it until his phone dies, Bobby’s words echoing in his head.
An idea pops into his head, it would be difficult if he didn’t know your exact routine but thanks to your fan accounts and the power of gossip blogs, it’s a definite success.
He calls Bobby immediately, hearing him and his entourage in the background as they talked about a video idea.
“What do you want, Kurt? I’m busy right now.” His annoyance is clear but Kurt is way too focused on you to notice.
“I need a favor.”
It’s amazing what the internet contains about a person. It’s also quite terrifying. Through just a few minutes of research, he’s found out your schedule along with where you went to school, where you live and your closest friends.
In a photo Bobby had taken, the location of the next shoot you had taking place somewhere was barely visible.
He connects the dots, thinking about how your involvement could help him get  #TheLesson out and make him a household name.
And it’s exactly what he does the day of. He parks near your neighborhood, foot bouncing and anxiously looking at his phone. He declines the others in hopes of finding you according to the schedule. You almost never use your real name on anything when going out but he recognizes your fake name and location, he puts the car into drive and talks himself up.
He parks across the street, giving him a better view of you.
His heart skitters when he sees you look in his direction, your brows quirk up as you give him an easy smile and cross carefully.
You stop and bend to meet him at the passenger window, “Kurt, right?”
His name coming out of your mouth is something he’s dreamed of since he first saw you. He almost pinches himself to know if this is real.
He knows he’s grinning like an idiot because you laugh at his speechlessness.
“Sorry,” he motions to the backseat, “Hop in!”
“I take it you know who I am.”
You’re not oblivious to your recognition, but with some guys it was just always a hit or miss. They either wanted you to take your top off or asked for some weird things.
“Are you kidding? I’m like your biggest fan.” He beams, going back on the road.
You’re not good at accepting compliments, so all you can manage is a shy smile and a, “Thanks!”
You notice his set up of cameras and ask him about it, to which he says they’re just for protection. Throughout the ride you learn more about him, particularly that he was going something the next day called The Lesson. He had a very particular view about this digital world you both lived in, talking about these odd jobs he’d been doing along with trying to build up his following. In between talking about himself, he mentions Bobby and the events of last night from the video.
“Oh right, Bobby.” You roll your eyes at the mention of his name.
Bobby was a pain in your ass sometimes, acting all high and mighty all the time and just like he was the overall shit.
“Yeah he’s alright. He could just tone it down a little.”
“Oh yeah - definitely, he was the same when he was a kid. Just pure chaotic energy.”
“That’s one way to put it.”
In between other conversations, Kurt brought back the spotlight to you, asking you about different people you hung out with. It was pleasant conversation, you felt like you were talking to an old friend and letting off some steam. The red flags hadn’t gone off just yet.
To let loose and make you live a little, Kurt races past a red light and nearly misses being in a collision.
It startles you but he assures you there’s no danger.
“You trust me right?” He asks, glancing back to you.
“I mean, yeah.”
The confirmation is validation to him. It’s all he needed to begin.
He picks up another passenger, an older man who definitely did not hide the way he was staring at your body. You’re thankful for sitting a little father from him but when Kurt initiates conversation with him, everything goes downhill.
“I know you from somewhere.” The man points out, his obvious staring makes you cringe as you stay silent.
“You’re that model, I’ve seen your stuff around Westwood. Bangin’ body.”
You can feel the anger in your chest rise as Kurt finally notices.
“What’s going on?” He glances to the back, meeting your shifting eyes.
The man ignores him. “Sweetheart when someone compliments you, the nice thing to do is smile.”
That did it.
“Excuse me? I don’t owe you shit!” You grit.
“Whoa! Whoa! Sir you can’t be saying that anymore.” Kurt changes lanes, ready to stop if the situation gets worse.
“She should be proud she doesn’t look like her people. All of ‘em just fat and lazy.”
“Excuse me?! My people?” You’re sure you don’t look the least bit intimidating but it doesn’t matter. You were willing to kick this man’s ass if need be.
Kurt pulls off the the side of the road, “Alright, get out.”
“What? No, I paid for this ride fair and square. I’m not leaving for shit. I can say what I want.” He says adamantly.
“Sir if you make those comments again I’m going to have to cancel the Spree.”
Something clicks in Kurt’s head as he remembers the water bottles.
He motions for you to take the passenger seat which you do without much hesitation.
Kurt waits a minute before merging again, glancing at the man every so often and taking more desolate streets. You don’t notice the absence of cars and you definitely don’t notice when the man takes a bottle and practically chugs it.
Kurt smirks as he slows down. “Hey maybe you should let them know you’re not going to make it.”
Confused, you glance at Kurt and then at the man who’s now starting to grab at his throat and coughing violently.
Your eyes widen as you attempt to get Kurt to stop the car but he doesn’t move, instead he keeps his eyes trained on the road.
“Kurt, stop the car.”
The man’s coughs get worse by the second and he turns a very bright red.
“Kurt! Stop the car!”
You’re frozen, helpless to watch the man as he tries to grab at Kurt from behind but coughs up blood and passes out in the backseat. You slink back in your seat, utterly terrified of what just happened.
Adrenaline and fear course through you. You side eye Kurt who is not as affected by this as you are as he merely readjusts his camera.
You begin to hyperventilate and try the passenger door. When it doesn’t budge you shut your eyes and cry.
“I won’t say anything. I won’t I promise. I promise, Kurt. Please.”
Kurt sighs as he retrieves a piece of cloth from his pocket. Your eyes widen as he comes close and pins you in your seat and smothers you with the cloth. You struggle under him, pushing against his chest to no avail.
The smell of the chloroform inundates your senses and in a matter of seconds you feel your eyes roll back and everything go black.
Once you’re knocked out, Kurt takes both your phone and the other passengers to knock suspicion off of him. He has plans for the racist prick in the back, but for you, he has much bigger plans.

1. What’s the first song you remember hearing?
It’s gotta be “Sixteen Tons” by Johnny Cash. My Grampa sang it so often I thought he’d made it up himself for the longest time.
2. What’s the first band you got into?
The first band I can recall being a real fan of is Type O Negative. I didn’t get into metal until college, actually, and I listened to Slow, Deep and Hard and had my whoa moment.
3. Do you collect physical music?
No 😔 I like digital music because I like the freedom of having wireless, noise-cancelling headphones, but I’ve always thought that collecting vinyls and getting a record player would be kinda cool.
4. What is your favorite piece of music memorabilia?
Johnny Kelly’s drumstick from a Silvertomb show. It has the notches in it from where it hit the lip of the drum and everything!
5. What’s your favorite concert that you’ve been to?
Honest to god, it’s hard to live up to my first ever metal concert—I went to see Life of Agony in this tiny little venue by my college, it was an indoor skate park and they played on a small stage while the crowd stood in the half-pipe. I shoved my way to the front, held Mina Caputo’s hand, and got stage-dived on. It was amazing.
6. If you could see any artist that’s no longer alive in concert, who would it be?
I guess I’d have to say Type O Negative. That said, I’d pay a lot of money to see Joey Jordison drum for Slipknot again.
7. Have you met any musicians?
I met Hank Hell and Johnny Kelly at the aforementioned Silvertomb show. Johnny Kelly is the nicest fucking guy. He’s an absolute sweetheart. He talked to me about my drum lessons. I can and I WILL GUSH.
8. What’s your go-to album when you’re feeling sad?
Slow, Deep, and Hard by TON or Iowa by Slipknot. I love that sweet sweet catharsis.
9. What’s your go-to album when you’re feeling happy?
I don’t know. I listen to all kinds when I’m not in a particular mood.
10. What is one music documentary that you love?
Not sure I’ve ever seen one, but I’ve been meaning to watch Rammstein in Amerika for the longest time.
11. What is one concert DVD that you love?
Type O Negative - Symphony for the Devil
12. Do you prefer listening to playlists or albums?
Depends on the mood. If I’m not paying much attention to the music (like at work) I’ll just play something well-loved.
13. Do you listen to albums in order or on shuffle?
In order, generally. There’s a reason they’re arranged that way.
14. What is your favorite deep cut song by your favorite artist?
Idk what qualifies as a deep cut, and I also don’t know what my favorite artist is, but the first thing that jumped to mind was Prison Sex by Tool.
15. What is your favorite CD/cassette/vinyl you own in terms of its packaging?
See above 😔

These OCs have been in my head FOREVER and I FINALLY sketched them. ✨Ask me questions about them while I line and color them so I can flesh them out.✨
Some basics on them under the cut:
Billy No-Good
• He/Him
• 6’2, but slouches so hardcore he stands at 5’10
• Calls himself a “Professional Sketch Artist”, what he really DOES is act incredibly suspiscious to lure security personnel away from the ACTUAL crime about to go down
• Makes goth/industrial music on the in-universe equivalent to SoundCloud(TuneStorm) and actually has a pretty decent following
• Has a pet Pigeon named Morris, who he rescued from a cat in a park
• Lives in an abandoned train car
Præy Tell
• She/They
• 5’6, usually wearing platforms that put them up to 5’9
• Makes most of their money as a CamGirl, but is also a digital artist
• Writes music and posts themself singing it to the in-universe equivalent of Instagram(HastiPost), but doesn’t actually follow through with production
• They had a VERY difficult childhood with their mother. They believe their father is dead, but he is actually running a criminal organization(the one Billy works for)
• They lift weights for fun
Judas Thorne
• She/Her
• 5’2
• Also works as a CamGirl, having gotten into it at the same time Præy did. Often works alongside Præy, and has fallen kind of in love with them, though she wasn’t brave enough to voice her feelings at first
• She’s a talented seamstress, and hopes to have her own clothing line someday
• A professional photographer, usually photographing couples or boudoir shoots
• Can nurse literally any plant back to health
Gabriel Navarro
• He/They
• 5’9
• Works at the in-universe equivalent to HotTopic(CoolGenre); this is where they meet Billy, Præy, and Judas. They accidentally mistake Billy for a straight man until they see the pin on the back of his vest that’s a bi flag in the shape of a middle finger
• They build amazing sculptures with recycled materials, as well as really elaborate jewelry made out of pop-tabs
• They have a “pet” Bonzai tree named Starscream that they treat like their baby
• Extremely talented Skateboarder, likes to film vlogs while skating in interesting locations
And yes they are all in love
