Reasons why I am against AI-generated content #7392639:

People no longer know the difference between good, self-made 3D digital art / fx and AI. Not everything is AI guys!! Artists have been doing cool 3D blends and animations for many years!! Yes, it looks incredibly fluid and real. No, they did not use stolen content. Believe or not, people do still very much study digital art.

Super disheartening seeing an artist's hardwork being dismissed as AI generated "art" (and same for bands/ creatives who comission them and get unwarranted hate). Why tf do you think AI looks like that? It's stolen content. They literally steal artists' styles to generate their own images. It's unethical and disgusting and I want absolutely nothing to do with it.

Also, side-note: using AI tools to help create your work is absolutely valid. We have been doing this for decades. What do you think "magnetic lasso" or "magic eraser" are? Do you think you computer just knows where the edges of stuff are? The difference is that before we didn't have the Big Bad label attached to it, nor all this disgusting nonsense. Artificial Intelligence is exactly that. Very useful when used correctly (as a tool), absolutely vile when mimicking stolen art.

Hey so I'm not really gonna answer this beyond 1) I don't really use Tumblr for debates/arguments about inflammatory topics and 2) I'm purposely ignorant to the entire outrage surrounding AI art because there are too many things demanding "action" and "engagement" from the general public on any given day at this point that I literally have zero left in the tank.

I'm not defending AI art but I'm literally just saying it's not one of the things that "enrage" me as of late. I'm more worried about things going on in my personal life and the current political climate of the US rn tbh and I come here to Tumblr to be horny about fictional characters because that's a better coping mechanism than drinking myself into a stupor or taking bong rip after bong rip to the face.

That being said I subscribe to artists on patreon that create their own art and will always 100% support artists who draw for a living.

I'm not sorry, fuck right off with your AI in medicine okay? "AI integration" in my google docs spell check has made it STUPID. I get spelling and grammar correction squiggles that are blatantly wrong. I get tense corrections that are wrong. I have gotten spelling suggestions where it wants me to spell received as recieved. I recently got caught in a loop where it wanted to fix 'bemoaned' to 'primrose' AND 'primrose' to 'bemoaned' so that NEITHER was ever accepted as correct.

todays thoughts: atsugawa sickfic abt their relationship with food insecurity and how akutagawa couldnt eat just anything due to his illness (lungs but i also believe he'd have an extremely sensitive stomach + foods he absolutely could not eat because they were so horrible to him) and so he wiuld often just not eat whereas atsushi grew up eating anything as long as it didnt look too bad (if he could take off the visible mold it was fine to him) and them slowly unlearning these habits that are detrimental to their health (aku's unintentional self starvation and atsu subconsciously international self sabotage)

Roy has gotten food poisoning from his dorm meal plan at least once (based on at least one true story)

The heap trio + Mandy would be those friends constantly playing majong in the dorm lounge and if all the majong tables are taken they just play in one of their dorm rooms on a towel to dampen the tile shuffling noises (it was Mandy's idea)

Every morning Dani goes to the drinks stall at her faculty and orders one iced coffee to the point where the stall owner starts preparing an iced coffee whenever they see her approach (based on my true story)

MR-SN and AS-TR start a stargazing club together. other notable members include AS-TR's girlfriend E-DN, MR-SN's friend C-RA (the one who always volunteers to carry the heavy ass telescopes) and MR-SN's friend K-LB who he pestered into coming to fix one of the wonky scopes even though K-LB's actually in electrical engineering but he's the only engineering person MR-SN (an arts student) knows

oh and of course VR-LA joins because he genuinely just likes space (developing a crush on his club chairperson was not on his bingo card)

Kyana and E-DN were MMA sparring buddies at one point which is how she found out about the stargazing and joined immediately
