We just hit the jackpot! Season 2 here we come!

Crack fic idea: POV of a police officer chasing a robbery suspect who ends up running into DMC to escape/grab a hostage. When the officer opens the door, he finds the suspect standing frozen in the middle of the room, because on the opposite end by the desk, an angry Vergil's standing there stabbing a surprised Dante. This stabbing pretty obviously happened before the robber showed up. It's only through the hand, but the one guy is holding a whole giant samurai sword, the guy getting stabbed has a gun in his free hand, and there's kind of a lot of blood.

The other officer comes in after POV guy. Officer 2 looks over the scene, then starts to arrest the suspect who's still so shocked he doesn't really fight the handcuffs. Once the suspect is cuffed, Officer 2 starts to walk him through the door and tells POV Officer it's time to go. POV Officer is confused, because uh, sir, there's some pretty severe domestic violence going on and he doesn't know if that gun's registered, and even if they ignore all the normal police/violence/safety issues shouldn't they call some EMTs??? Or at least ask the guy getting stabbed if he's okay???? (To which Dante calls out "oh yeah I'm good!" confusing poor POV officer further)

Officer 2 just frowns and shakes his head. "No, they've got this. Right Dante?" To which Dante cheerfully replies with some small talk that makes it obvious he and Officer 2 are acquainted. Vergil gets tired of the small talk and rips the Yamato out of Dante's hand, walking upstairs. And when POV Officer starts to ask something else, Dante basically just waves him off with some sort of comment about how Vergil's just grumpy, honestly Dante kind of deserved that one, he'll admit he was being a bit pushy. And then waves goodbye when Officer 2 says they really need to get back go the station and book the suspect.

As they leave, POV Officer asks what's going on. Officer 2 basically just tells him not to worry, and not to write it in the report. That's just Dante. Dante tries to keep clear of the police, the police try to keep clear of Dante, and everyone's happy. He's helped out on a handful of cases when he just so happened to be in the area, he's gotten accused of some property damage a few times, it all evens out. You just don't mention Dante. City Police actually have a code for it, if they ever absolutely have to. But today they don't, so they won't. They caught the suspect. That's that. The suspect ran into one of the many abandoned buildings in the area and they caught him. Nothing else of note.

Oh, and if POV Officer is worried about the hand, he shouldn't be. The police here have known demons were real for years before Redgrave, and they're pretty sure Dante's one of the nice ones. When he says he'll be fine, hell be fine. Officer 2 has some good stories about him getting shot in the chest and getting tight bacm up, actually...

...

And so a crazy day comes to an end. The suspect's been caught, the streets are safe, and that's that. Nothing else happened. Nothing at all.

If POV Officer starts sprinting in the opposite direction when he sees a certain tall, white haired, blue eyed, blue wearing man when he's walking down the street later that week, it's for no reason at all.

Let’s think about Dante getting rid of those tickle & slap magazines or how he got rid of those photos of models in the Devil May Cry office—it was all caused by you. Having you as his partner moved his gaze from those models in their swimsuits to you wearing your casual outfits. (Bonus if it’s his clothes.)

Eventually, the magazines disappeared. No one asked questions—it was a blessing since he had the gall to read those magazines in front of other people. The posters came down, too—quietly, one by one, rolled up and tossed in a corner until they vanished altogether.

Wearing his clothes so nonchalantly and acting like it was no big deal. 

He had seen that coat a thousand times—worn it, fought in it, even slept in it, it was his kid—but it had never looked half as good as it did on you. The way the fabric slipped off one shoulder, the way you absentmindedly toyed with the zipper.

"You're hogging my coat again," Dante teased, leaning against the doorway with his arms crossed. But there was no real complaint in his voice. Staring at you, who was lying on top of your shared bed.

“Do you not have another coat?”

Dante feigned offence, placing a dramatic hand over his heart. "That's not just any coat, sweetheart. That's the coat. My partner in crime—literally." He pushed off the doorway and sauntered over, the mattress dipping under his weight as he flopped down beside you.

"Picking me over a coat," you mused, tracing idle patterns on his chest with your fingertips. "That's a first." Dante caught your hand, pressing a kiss to your knuckles with exaggerated flair. 

"Sweetheart, I'd pick you over Ebony and Ivory." You gasped, sitting up slightly, though his arms kept you firmly anchored against him. "Now that's serious," you teased. "Should I be worried? What if one day you wake up and decide you miss your tacky posters more?" 

He snorted, rolling his eyes. "Please. Those things were collecting dust long before you showed up." His fingers found the hem of the coat—his coat—still wrapped around your shoulders, and he tugged gently, pulling you closer until your foreheads touched. 

"Besides," he murmured, voice dropping to that low, rough tone that never failed to make your pulse skip, "no magazine ever looked half as good as you do right now." You huffed, trying to hide your smile. "Flattery won't get your coat back."

“I dont need it, I'll let you keep it, if you let me take a photo of you.”

“No way.”

DP x DMC interaction

haha okay so i have an interaction idea for my dmc and dp crossover with Patty and Danny with how they meet. (probably be only for me but hehe >w<) Danny after being stranded in dmc world, is living with Dante and being a part-time employee. They specify part time since he's still a minor. (just by a year and that's not even fully correct just easier to keep same birthday due to time shenanigans... Danny mostly upset because he was a four months away and now he has to wait eight. Not important just thought it be funny for Danny to fuss over it a little.) Dante is off on another gig not long after Danny starts crashing at his place. Danny had just gotten his citizenship started thanks to Morrison, and now settling in. He's borrowing Dante's clothes and cleaning up the place (since its still a mess from last Dante was there despite Lady n Trish having dropped in while he was stuck in underworld ) Imagine Dante actually giving Danny his better clothes, and they're baggy on Danny. Nero and Nico having promise to drop by at the end of the week, tying off loose ends to take Danny in for a bit.

Anyways. So Danny just finding something to do, since he isn't in a school ( and he doubts he will), and the business is slow, so he cleans the place. He gets it looking really nice and clean. That's when Patty drops in, expecting to go give Dante a piece of her mind for not checking in or answering her calls ( she's just worried about the geezer) then is shocked when she walks into the place and its SPOTLESS. And there in the middle of the office is someone in Dante's clothes but clearly not Dante. Which she exclaims in shock. And Danny, being Danny like.. uhh yeah I know. Need me to take a message? Wondering why a girl closer to his age looking for Dante. Did she have a job for them? Patty just shocked but then bombarding Danny with questions, suspicious of him. Which Danny just holding his hands like AHH chill chill =w=''' Then Danny explains the situation. Patty still suspicious if not a bit jealous or at least upset Dante never told her. Danny explaining how its pretty new. That's when someone else comes in fretting with an actual Job request. Immediately distraught when hearing Dante isn't in. Danny saying he can take the shift if its nearby- but the guy not wanting to hear it. Dismissing Danny before even knowing him, crumbling into the floor wailing. That's when Patty jumps in both curious of Danny's ability, while also not wanting anything to discourage going to Devil May Cry for services (pride in Dante's business). Patty convincing the man in almost scary manipulative way. She also insists on accompanying them. Danny learns more about Patty on their way over, she driving him up to the spot. Patty learning a little bit about Danny too. He goes into the infested manor, only to turn out the guy was the reason it was infested having made a deal only to turn tails... on more than one demon. Danny gets roughed up, still trying to get a hang of his limitations and powers here, but still manages to pull off a cool fight- especially if Patty ends up in direct line of fire. He sends all the demons packing. Leaving the asshole who started this mess, who tried not to pay them. Making a fuss about the destruction of the mansion, and how long it had taken Danny, as well as letting the demons get too close to him. (They never touched him) Patty is the one to give the guy hell, as well as scare him into paying Danny with bonus. Mentioning how upset Dante would be learning that he jibbed his son, and how next time a demon be hunting him down he won't be able to call on DMC for help. Danny's a bit shocked but pleasantly so with how fast the guy changes his tune as Patty offers to drive Danny out to get milkshakes, since they just got paid. "We?" "I did the negotiating, so I'll be taking a cut. Dante won't mind. uwu C'mon, I'm going to show you all the best hang outs around town. You're going to love them." Thus starts Danny and Patty hanging out. >w< Patty tries not to show it, but she was very impressed at how Danny handled things. Yeah he's not as cool as Dante, but he had his own flare. Plus he's closer to her age.

Heaven Sent Reader Meeting Nero and Lady for the First Time

A few weeks ago I was jetlagged as fuck and while I was awake I wrote out the scenario of Heaven Sent!Reader (my DMC time travel shit) meeting Nero and Lady for the first time. I figured I’d clean it up and put it here. It’s a bit all over the place but enjoy! 

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, but would like to read a whole bunch of Dante x Reader smut, then here you go

It’s about 4-5 months into their relationship. They’re meeting up pretty regularly for sex and also kind of doing actual relationship stuff, but it’s still very casual. Dante is worried about taking anything further and potentially fucking up, and Reader is sitting back and waiting for him to take the initiative because she thinks it’s cute and funny. 

Dante has completely forgotten that he promised Nero that he’d tag along for a job and that Nero would be picking him up pretty early. Nero tries to get into the office but the doors are locked which is weird cause Dante usually never locks it. Nero has a key though, so he opens the door and walks in, only to find a woman wearing one of Dante’s shirts and nothing else cooking breakfast in the kitchen. 

She’s extremely confused because she thought the door was locked but is also thinking, “Oh fuck Dante’s got an adult son that he’s never mentioned before.”

Nero is very embarrassed and doesn’t quite know what to do but she reassures him that Dante is almost out of the shower and so he can just wait. She makes small talk and keeps him entertained even though Nero clearly just wants to run away lol. They only talk for about 5 mins and somehow she manages to not mention anything about him being Dante’s son. 

5 mins later Dante literally bolts down the stairs, wearing only underwear and immediately kicks Nero out of the office. Nero returns to the van aaaand in an insane plot twist, Lady has been sitting in the front seat waiting the whole time. 

Nero gets in the car and slams the door: “He’s not coming, he’s got a girl over.”

Lady: “Bullshit. He’s got no charm and he’s too old and he hasn’t been with a woman for years….. (She pauses and turns to Nero looking sort of horrified) What did she look like?”

Nero explains and Lady throws herself out of the car without explaining anything. She kicks open the door to the shop, storms in, aaaand finds the two of them having sex on the kitchen bench. Because of course, Dante went into deflect, distraction mode when Reader started asking questions after Nero left so he stopped the conversation in the easiest way that he knows how. 

Nero walks in immediately afterwards but Lady doesn’t let him in the kitchen. Dante is really mad and tells them to both get the fuck out. 

Lady is trying to be sort of discreet but asks, “why didn’t you tell me?” As in, why didn’t you tell me you found her, cause Lady has been around for a long time so Dante’s told her the time travel story etc. 

Dante is mad and replies that he didn’t tell her because he knew she’d do shit like this. Like, you know, refusing to leave while there’s a vulnerable naked woman in the kitchen. 

Lady was going to try and get more answers but decides to leave once he says that. She threatens that she’s going to come back in the afternoon and wait as long as it takes. Dante isn’t going to be able to escape talking with her. 

So they both leave and Dante is freaking out. He’s spent the past few months being terrified about fucking up and is now worried that this is going to be the last straw. He’s terrified and spiralling and not sure what to do. He puts on his coat, not wanting to be naked and walks back into the kitchen. 

Reader is sitting at the table casually eating breakfast and says: “You’re going to explain what the fuck that was all about. And I’m not going to let you distract me again, because I know that’s what you were doing before.” (She says, because his hands are immediately going to where his fly would be lol)

At this point she doesn’t know that much about Dante, and is kind of surprised that he never mentioned having a kid. She thought he was just prematurely going grey but now knows that’s a genetic hair colour. Nero just looks too much like him for it to be a coincidence, also Nero still has long hair here lol. 

Dante has said that he’s a contractor. So he lies and says that he forgot that he said He’d go on a job and that they’re both his coworkers with no sense of personal space or boundaries. 

She says that it’s cute that he works with his son, and that it’s fine that he didn’t say anything, but she would have liked some warning if there was a chance of him turning up unannounced. 

Dante replies “He’s not my son.” but doesn’t say anything else. 

She’s very used to Dante shutting down at personal stuff and isn’t going to let him do it this time. “No? The kid that looks exactly like you and has a key to your ‘house’ isn’t your son????”

Dante is smart and is trying to think of what to say. He’s fucked no matter what he says because he has to finish with ensuring she’ll never talk to Nero about it. 

He says that he had a twin brother who’s dead, and that everything was so traumatic that he doesn’t talk about it, so most people don’t know. No one knew Nero existed, he was adopted and they found him as an adult, but they don’t talk about any of that stuff because it was too traumatic. So it’s better if she never mentions him being related to Dante or anything else. 

It’s all lies but somehow he’s convincing enough that it works. Dante is still fucked up about Vergil so all of his emotions are real even if his words aren’t completely true. He doesn’t tell the truth about his job or what he actually does. 

So, Reader accepts that, but then asks. “And the woman, she was just a coworker?”

Dante: “Yep.”

Reader: “Because she didn’t stare at your dick, which means she always knows what it looks like hard because every person on the damn planet would stare at your dick if they weren’t used to it.”

Dante: “It was a really long time ago.”

I have a headcanon request: James Norrington x Pirate!Reader.

How would he feel about them being a pirate? How would the relationship pan out? In an alternative world where he lives, would he still be part of the navy or would he completely side with the pirates? What would the reader think of him being a part of the Navy? Would they consider giving up their pirate life to be with him?

Buckle up - this can of brainworms just exploded.

I think living with pirates and experiencing their life and lifestyle shed a new light for James. He'd be more mindful of what causes people to turn to piracy and if given oppurtunity - tries to help.

After all, in both DMC and AWE he did commit piracy in order to become an Admiral at the hands of Beckett.

If the only thing in the AU that changed was his death, I think James wouldn't even entertain the idea of coming back to the Royal Navy - not after all of Becketts dirty tricks would've been exposed.

If it comes to Pirate!reader and James' relationship.....

I want them to meet between The Curse and DMC.

You would probably meet on Tortuga or something life that.

Maybe even when Jack gets him onto the Pearl and then maybe just dumps him with you when you meet at some rundown port in the middle of nowhere.

That would be delicious.

Taking you are the captain, an extra pair of hands is always welcome. Jack probably conveniently did not mention, that the blackout drunk sailor he was bestowing upon you was in fact The James Norrington. No no. You have to find out yourself.

'What's you name son?'

When he finally wakes gets woken up with a cold seawater bucket to the face courtsy of first officer you do what any sane captain would do -

'Dont fuckin- - call me son.'

'Oof he has bite to his bark gentlemen......'

After a good chow and a hissy fit you get to actually talk to him.

What kinda ticks him off is your kindness towards him - taking things slow with the hangover that you ensured wouldn't get worse, not coldly demanding him to do everything he should be doing.

You get a minute to talk to each other in private and he just presents himself as James, scared you'll do something terrible, torture him for what he's done, even kill him.

He knows thinks he deserves it.

'Just James huh? Alright "Just James", what drove you to the sea?'

Gets surprised when you don’t press further on his identity. He works on your ship quite well actually - he's well versed in many things. A week later you try prying more information from him.

'A stupid expectation and even stupider decisions.'

'Damn, you sailors always come up with the same story huh.

He can feel the cold sweat at your words.

Even if he was ex- Navy - you started to harbour a crush on the guy. He's really charming when he wants to be and can spot a British ship from miles away. His knowledge of the sea is impressive. Many-a-time had he pulled you out of hot shit you were about to get yourelf in.

You knew. Of course you knew. You recognised him the moment he got on your ship. Stood with his back too straight for being so drunk. Almost saluted when first officer "woke him up". Carried himself with an aura of an old, tired soldier.

In a drunken moment at port he tells you his full name and makes peace that he's staying back. He then wakes up on the ship and almost cries.

And he has those eyes..... that seafoam you would willingly drown yourself in. And a great ass? The package is a perfect fit for you.

He then realises that your kindness for him may have awakened a feeling he long forsaken - love.

*two dense motherfuckers in a room*

*the crew collectively suffers when looking at you two lovesick fools who believe the other is too good to be with them.*

As time goes on, you continue to floor James with both your wit and bravery. You do not charge into battle unprepared or without good reason.

Over the months spent together your realtionship with James improves to the point he reveals a little of his life in Port Royal and how he sometimes wishes he could go back there. It breaks your heart but you bite your tounge. After all - he smiled so sweetly when he told you he found a new home on your ship, with the crew, with you.

And then DMC happens.

James deals with Beckett that with your help he will get Jacks compass. The plan is set to save you and your crew. God, he would throw himself off a cliff if he didn't donanything in his power to save your life - he would sacrifice himself in a heartbeat if it meant you were free from the East Indian Company.

'You. MY CREW GAVE YOU A HOME ON OUR SHIP ! THEY GAVE YOU A CHANCE TO BE FREE ! THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY THEM ?!'

Oh the anguish I feel when your ship gets captured by Beckett.

You are brought to the Lords' office and he offers you a deal. Your heart breaks when you see James there. You fall to your knees. He fucking feels the floor shake from the force of your fall. You pull on the chains, making two guards holding you almost stumble to keep you in place.

Hot tears are spilling from your eyes. Every one that falls twists a knife in his heart.

'Get them to agree or neither you, or them are leaving this port alive.'

You of course deny the deal but Beckett is no dumb. He saw how hard James tried to act neutral. When the guards drag you away somewhere Beckett gives James a pointed look.

On the way out he recieves a key. James knew exactly where to use it. He has never run as fast as he did to your cell.

Seeing you in those chains - nay - in such histeric tears makes him want to carve his heart out. The damp, smelly dungeon doesn't really help with making you look less miserable.

James grips the metal bars so hard his knuckles turn white.

'Please. Please let me explain.'

'There's nothing to explain. Admiral.'

The distant look you give him makes his blood run cold.

He forces the doors open fuck the key right? , bursts in and gathers you in his arms, despite your protests. You cry, wail, curse him. And he lets you.

Now he really desereved it.

All he can do is soothe you.

You give up on trying to pry him away from you. He just won't let go. He holds you like your're going to fall apart at any moment and frankly, your'e close to doing so. The feelings you so meticulously hid away surge to the surface and you can't help but relax into the warmth of his arms.

'I'm so, so sorry that it's come to this.'

'You're not sorry. You got your life back. I knew what I was getting myself into. I knew my happily ever after wouldn't come. Especially not with you.'

You feel James freeze.

'Me?'

'Yeah, I never even intended to tell you but now that I'll probably hang by tommorow-'

'Your happy ever after - what does that mean?'

He moves so fast you barely register when he looked into your eyes for the truth and when he buried his face in your neck. You sit and listen to his heathing breaths, the thumping of his heart and wonder - is it stress or- Owwwww fucking hell out with it already - you think.

After a little you whisper :

'It means i love you James. And I hoped life wouldn't be so cruel to those who long for freedom.'

You feel something wetting your shirt. A full body sob jostles you.

It's James' turn to weep.

'You big baby, don't cry. We'll be alright.'

More DMC headcanons: Summertime Heat Suffering Edition

✨Dante is completely wholeheartedly… suffering through the summertime heat, that fan above in the office spins slowly for a reason and that’s to keep the already poor airflow actually flowing— and no, shoving as many popsicles as possible into one’s mouth doesn’t help cool you down… he’s choked trying this, mind you

✨Vergil’s sense of heat (and cold for that matter) is unfortunately skewered to where it’s down right broken, so it takes an astronomical amount of heat for him to start feeling uncomfortable… you’ll probably end up on the ground as a puddle before this man actually starts sweating up a storm

✨We don’t talk about Nero, his tolerance to heat is as powerful as his quote when throwing hands with fire demons: Fire’s bad for the complexion! I burn easily, never tan! Someone get this poor boy an ice bucket—

✨Nico is the god(dess) of heat resistance, third only to Trish and Vergil yet first in line for human standards. Don’t get me wrong, she’ll need to cool off but spending time in the Van cooking up Devil Arms and Devil Breakers does one to build up tolerance…

✨Lady puts up the act of being able to handle the summertime heat, but there’s a reason she wears shorts almost 90% of the time— she overheats easily! Gotten better over the years of course, but after a scare one time she’s determined to find a subtle way to keep cool

✨We also don’t talk about Trish, but for the complete opposite reason of Nero. She can’t get a tan worth the life of her and it’s because of how heat resistance she is! Only Vergil can out heat her but we all know the reason why…

✨Patty and Kyrie are about average heat resistant to the summertime waves of suffering, much better than Nero of course but it does leave one to wonder why he can’t handle heat worth jack shit—

I know its likely more George W. Bush inspired but fuuuuuuuuuuck if things don't feel perfectly fitting for Shitler who's currently in office. Though Baines is more sitting to the disgusting freak that is Stephen Miller

Fuck Baines can't wait to watch him die, but also fuck White Rabbit too. Both being extremes of their sides, though Baines gets an extra fuck you layer by having it be religion-based.

Can you write the DMC men with a zookeeper reader?

It’s a very tiring and ridiculously demanding job but since she loved the animals so much, she’s willing to sleep at the zoo’s office to watch over them when one of the animals need overnight assistance

She tells her multiple experiences working with different animals and the ones that are (surprisingly) the easiest for her to work with are tigers, jaguars, snow leopards, cougars because even though they are predatory animal, they can be very affectionate and will spend time bonding after lots of attempts from her being respectful towards their boundaries, positive reinforcements ( ex: not biting her broom equals free treats ), no direct eye contact, using a soft tone like how a mother would talk to an infant, etc while not anthropomorphizing the relationship

But the animals that she’s very wary to work with, or if given opportunity, she will avoid working with them at all costs are surprisingly mostly the non-meat eaters like zebras, cassowaries (especially in their breeding season) and her biggest fear, chimpanzees…She told them how the zebra gets most zookeepers to be ended up in the ER because of how unpredictable they are, how a cassowary one time kicked at her shin with their jurassic pedicure resulting in her being off duty for nearly half a year before she can somewhat limp to work again. Finally, she tells them to ask all zookeepers “ what are the list of animals they prefer to not work with ?” If a zookeeper do not have chimps amongst their answers, they’re most likely have not worked with one (fortunately)

She tells them the one time she nearly got her arm ripped off because she carelessly decided to put her arm into their feeding space to retrieve their eating bowl, which unbeknownst to her, a chimp is hiding out of her sight, ready to tear her arm off had she put it in. She was scolded by her manager for that one but she’s glad that some senses had been knocked into her

At last, of all the animals, the ones she downright hated working with the most are definitely the hairless apes with nothing but an Iphone and a sense of entitlement. One time, at an old zoo she used to work, a mom tried to put her kid over the railing to get him a better sight of ( out of all the animals ) a Polar bear which resulted in the kid falling into the pool, right around its feeding time. -Hates that you spend nights at the zoo because come on, that can't be comfortable. Wouldn't you rather be cuddling with him in your nice, warm, fluffy bed?

-Then again, you're such a sweet soul who's kind to everything and everyone--you probably wouldn't even notice the discomfort.

I'll answer for Devil May Cry this time :)

For the first question, I haven't really thought about it in details, but I know that if I were to appear in any of the games, it would probably be in Devil May Cry 2. I thought of a funny scenario, where technically, Dante finds a young child "lost" and wandering alone, looking for something, and about to be attacked by some demons, but he saves me in the last second. I introduce myself, and tell him that I lost a special 'friend' of mine. A yellow puppy plush, named Junior. (For those who don't know, Junior is like a manifestation of my actual irl plushie that is alive and has some sort of magical powers and stuff! He basically represents like a guardian figure, and my comfort object/childhood, and follows me anywhere and everywhere ^^)

That is like the only explanation he gets from me LMAO💀I was generally a non-verbal child, and I just also infilcted it on little me in the game XD Poor Dante does try to get answers from me, but I either don't answer, shrug, or shake my head.

That is basically a whole "additional" mission in the game, trying to help the little me find my lost toy friend. When he eventually does help me, Dante can only be left dumbfounded as an actual plushie moves and speaks as a real living being. Thanking Dante, I dissapear off behind a corner, and if he chooses to follow me, there won't be anyone behind. Quite mysterious, right?

I do appear once or twice again, somewhere settled during the DMC Animated series, to thank Dante again, and that is when I meet Patty😌 we kinda become strange friends in a way, but I hide the fact that Junior is alive🤧. From then on, I stop appearing, and Dante thinks we'll never meet again...

UNTIL BEFORE DMC4!

Basically, during one of his many missions, Dante actually gets unexpected help, that happens to be a person that is just so awfully familiar to him. Handling a great crossbow (YES that is my weapon I LOVE CROSSBOWS), with a strange yellow puppy on their shoulder... AND THE HE REALIZES!!! It's Jayden expect big and all grown :3 I stick around and help him, before returning together to his office, and that is when I ACTUALLY talk to the man about me LOL XD

Seeing how my skills actually are very good for a hunter, he decides to let me tag along when I can, and I basically become a part-time devil hunter! Since I am not always around, that is alright, but when I AM, I always make sure to lend a hand :>

And THAT, is basically how I met everyone else. I went on a few missions with Trish and Lady, and we also became good teammates. I also got along with Dante pretty well, we became some sort of buddies, ya could say ><

Now, how I met my pretty pookie boyf NERO? After the events of DMC4. It's a bit of a funny scene, actually😂He finds me napping my ass off on the couch HAHA Dante is all nonchalant about it, and even tries to shush Nero to be quiet with a finger LOOOOL basically, napping is all I do when I hang around the office, so Dante, Trish and Lady got used to it. Except for Nero, he was so confused💀

That is how our friendship started! We would be paired the most for missions, by Dante no less, when Nero joined to work for his uncle. Nero was still with Kyrie during that period, but did slowly start to "loose" feelings. Truth is, I actually got a crush on him pretty quickly, but hid it from everyone because... Yeah, he was already in love :( Basically, a year passed before we actually got together, and Nero slowly realised his true feelings, what a dumbass (i love him.)

Now, as for the events in DMC5, I didn't come to that part yet, because I haven't even watched DMC5 yet T0T I'm waiting for my friend to finish showing me his playthrough of DMC3 before I continue to the last game. But, yeah, that is basically it!

What sort of things would the DMC characters be into? What would their favorite medias be, who would their favorite characters be, their favorite dynamics, their favorite ships? Favorite things about it? Would they try and have any involvement in the fandom space online? If so, what sort of involvement?

Ill do them in order:

Dante: Well we know he's into smutty magazines and maybe even a bit of collecting, seeing how cluttered the office appears to be. This makes me thing he'd be into more retro things like old arcade machines, specifically those 1v1 combat games, and i can also see him reading old superhero comic books. (For anybody that knows the game, i can see him enjoying Dead or Alive too lmao)

He doesnt strike me as the sort to enter a fandom space and be an active participant, but i can imagine him enjoying discussing it with close friends like Lady/Nero or maybe even Trish. A casual enjoyer, i imagine he is.

Shipping too i feel like he'd try and be casual about... but we all know he secretly has an OTP that if they do not get together by the end of the series he will Lose It.

Vergil: Novels, poetry, theatre too. Also a secret Y/A novel enjoyer. By virtue of spending a good chunk of his life in the underworld and/or a bit disconnected from society while on the run as a kid, i imagine he isn't too well versed in fandom culture (does he even know what a fandom is?) But if prompted, would gladly yap to you for hours about his favourite literatures, the characters, the stories, etc. Enjoys all genres, but has a preference for darker themes and dark fantasy.

I dont think he'd be too into shipping, he strikes me as someone who'd rather analyse and break down his favourite media untill its shreds on the floor rather than pairing his favourites together. Dante despises when Vergil tries to get all analytical and point out broken physics on his favourite series when he's just trying to be a casual enjoyer lol (he secretly enjoys hearing his twin actually happy enjoying something for once, but would never admit that even over Eva's grave)

Nero: A total fandom nerd in his free time, mainly whatever TV shows were able to air in Fortuna and his favourite bands too. Can talk for hours about the intricate lore, the characters and the stories of his favourite media much like his father, however when it comes to analyzing stuff and deriving a deeper meaning from context clues, Nero would rather just enjoy things as they're presented to him. Strikes me as the type to mostly enjoy classic hero vs villian stories, and is a bit of a wimp with horror though he swears up and down he can handle it no problem.

Since Fortuna is pretty cut off from the outside world, and internet doesnt seem to be a very prominent thing in the DMC universe (if it even exists at all), i dont imagine he'd be too aware of larger fandom spaces. But i can see him having his own group of friends in Fortuna who share common interests with him, and they discuss the media together (possibly even friends from the Order or maybe even his time in the orphanage.)

Shipping, absolutely. Has multiple pairings and a few he depises for whatever reason, isnt too concerned about whats canon and whats not canon, and will gladly re-imagine the lore to suit his needs.

When it comes to his music, he will 100% make you a playlist or 5 of his favorite bands, what he things you'd like, what he recommends to try, and maybe even some he doesnt like just for fun. Much like me, Nero cannot live without his music.

For the others, ill do them kinda brief but i can expand on them if people wanna hear more:

Lady: Casual enjoyer of various media, mainly TV shows, but very much likes shipping and will happily debate over her pairings. Has a secret love for horror.

Trish: A bit like Vergil in the sense that she likes analyzing media and diving into the deeper meaning of everything. Likes shipping but less to pair cute couples, and more to explore various relationship dynamics and whatnot. Likes romance and cheesy stuff, but also really enjoys some darker genres sometimes too.

Nico: The kind of person who has to get into the physics and realism of everything in her favorite media, pointing out what does and doesnt make sense both within the fictional world and their "real world", and loves pointing out references to things whenever she can. Also takes inspiration from various media for her creations. Most of her favorite genres might be considered childish, but that just makes them even cooler to her.

Kyrie: A sucker for a good romance novel, she says she's just a casual enjoyer and not that deep into the fandom, but she has cried when her OTP didnt get together by the end of the book.

Lucia: Dumary seems pretty dead so i dont think theres much going on there to get into fandom-wise, but if Lucia were to get into something i imagine she'd enjoy watching rom-coms with Kyrie and Trish, the three of them debating their favourite pairs and laughing at all the cheesy moments. Much like Kyrie, she's a sucker for a good romance plot.

I finished Xenoblade X again today and... wow.

OK so, I played Xenoblade X for the first time last year in a marathon of Xenoblade 1, X, and 2, and honestly, compared to 1 & 2, I didn't enjoy it as much. It was the only one I didn't really know much about going in. I felt like it had a lot of good parts, but I hadn't any idea what I was doing because the game has literally no tutorials and I ended up stumbling through the game when I wasn't able to use my Skell, so I just didn't have as much fun with it compared to the trilogy.

However, after finishing Xenogears and the Xenosaga Trilogy, I thought it would be a good idea to give X another shot as a nice way to bookend playing the Xeno series, specifically after watching some guides and learning how the combat actually works (Thanks Enel)

And, holy shit. Out of every game I've ever played, this and DMC 3 are the ones I'm most glad I gave a second chance. I genuinely could not stop thinking about this game after I started playing again. Before I stopped pretty much as soon as I beat the final boss, this time I went literally all the way and completed the entire Mira Survey. I'm just gonna take this chance to go in and incoherently go off about about all the stuff I have in my head about this beautiful mess of a game.

Ok so the combat. Overdrive, is a completely balanced mechanic that doesn't allow you to completely take the main game’s difficulty and snap it over your knee like a fucking twig. Except it is. Like, it is honestly comical just how trivial almost everything becomes with the right arts on your build. And if you throw really busted arts like Ghostwalker/Ghost Factory or Blossom Dance into the mix, literally nothing can stand up to you bar the literal endgame superbosses, and a big part of that is just because a lot of them, Telethia in particular, are in positions where you literally can't fight them on foot and realistically survive without a highly specialised build. But with that proper build, that probably takes a lot of grinding, you can still beat them fairly quickly, save for Levael The Terminus, because it's literally in the middle of the ocean. All because of this funny counter gear.

Going along with Overdrive, is the amount of customisation this game offers you. Almost every weapon type offers you at least a couple arts that work really well alongside Overdrive. The build I ended up with at the end was a Knife, Dual Gun combination, mainly because Smooth Recovery, is an amazing art for Overdrive, and Black Butterfly and Full Specs are great compliments for an Ether Build with Executioner as the main Damage Art. Yeah sure I ended up using Ghostwalker/Factory like most Endgame builds, but hey that shit is comically busted, and I absolutely love abusing stuff like that, intentional or otherwise. Plus I do enjoy the idea of my Cross, Coraline, using the arts of Irina and Elma, her immediate superior officers in BLADE. Which actually brings me to,

I was honestly surprised at how much thought I ended up putting into my Cross this time around, but it was fun. Not just deciding on a good look both when creating her and finding what gear she'd wear, but also thinking about how her character woukd respond to the situations and dialogue options presented throughout the game. It's to the point that Coraline's basically become my first OC, depending on how you count Milton the Mythrakid I guess, since he's an interpretation of a character we know exists but we haven't seen or heard about. Either way I definitelywant to do more with Coraline. Probably gonna draw her some more as time goes on to get a better feel for the design as well as drawing her skell too just because.

That actually brings me around to the story. I'll be the first to admit that overall X's story falls short compared to the trilogy andveven Gears and Saga but it still has a lot of solid stuff that really git me thinking, in addition to stuff I only picked up the second time around, something Xeno stories have been fantastic with since the beginning with Gears. Obviously spoilers ahead as I talk some notable stuff in the plot

This moment really stuck out for me after simmering on it for a while. Because this idea that memories and the continuation of a person's consciousness are what make them who they are would continue as a prominent thematic plot point in the following games. Xenoblade 2 emphasises it the most heavily with Blades losing their memories with each reawakening, thus they lose their "contuity of consciousness". It's quite literally the central source of conflict for Blades and is everywhere in the main story and side content with characters like Praxis, Theory and Vess. Xenoblade 3 has this too, albeit as a more subtle background element with the Agnian and Kevesi Soldiers effectively being reset upon death as they are reborn, however there are still cases where things slip through the cracks, most notably with Eunie and Ashera. Yet despite that, Monica asserts to Eunie that whatever her past life was, it wasn't her and she didn't make it, all because soldiers simply don't have that continuity of consciousness.

Thinking about it now X has plenty of thematic ideas that 2 & 3 would go on to pull from. Things like a cycle of death and rebirth, something that Blade and NLA are trying to achieve with finding the Lifehold Core. As Lao puts it, they're the lucky ones who can come back as many times as they want. Lao's arc is particularly well done all things considered. A moment early on that stuck out to me was when they were discussing how Lin got her spot on the Whale as a way to repay her parents who were crucial in getting the ship going in the first place. Lao, whether he shows it or not, would have some misgivings about that, and Elma seemingly picks up on that and is quick to point out Lin's own skill were crucial in her getting her spot and that it wasn't just pure nepotism. It's really interesting to see Elma pick up on Lao's misgivings so early. If we do ever get an X sequel, which I do think and hope we will sooner or later, I'll be very curious to see where Lao's character goes from here. Speaking of characters who I really want to learn more about,

Elma is a really interesting character honestly despite the many unanswered questions surrounding her, it just has me more intrigued to learn more about her. The question of what her species and planet are like is one i really want to see explored someday. Funnily enough, 2 actually gave us a breadcrumb of that. Elma has a line when receiving a Seafood pouch item, one of her favourite categories, where she expresses fascination with the concept. "Making meals out of marine lifeforms, fascinating" which I've always taken as her species just straight up not having a concept of seafood. Idk why, it's such a minor inconsequential detail that isn't even from X but I always found that super interesting. Her designs are also two of my favourites in the Xeno series, especially dince they double as subtle references to Kos-Mos and T-Elos. I think I lean a little more towards Alien Elma though, something about the crystal hair is really cool to me.

A few other Miscellaneous things I can think of:

The sidequests are fantastic. While many are a little tedious, they do a really good job of building the world and fleshing out the natures and cultures of the different alien species that come to inhabit NLA.

The Affinity Missions go hand in hand with this, they do a great job of fleshing out all the different party members all the while giving you an avenue to learn their unique abilities. Most of those party members are also really well developed abd mostly compelling characters. Even the most if the ones who seem like assholes at first, like Boze or HB, do get better as their affinity missions progress. They clearly knew it was a great concept as it came back in 2 & 3 with the Blade Quests and Hero + Ascension Quests.

The ost is fucking incredible, I've been adding X music to my personal playlist over the course of my playthrough because there's so much good stuff in it. It's honestly criminal how much you end up missing because the Overdrive and Flight themes override 90% of them.

Skells are incredibly cool and a brilliant way to bring in the concept of mech combat systems from the previous Xeno games.

Phew, I think that's everything I've had to say. I've called out many of this game's flaws in other places and most of that I do still stand by. The game is in desperate need of an actual tutorial and QoL improvements. The game's draw distance can be quite frustrating at times trying to find specific things or characters and getting certain materials can be a really annoying grind, (Neinail Materials), but if you can put up with that there is a hell of a game there. I don't know if I'd consider it better than the trilogy, just because it has more complete stories, but it's quite close.

Overall I'm so happy I gave X a second shot and now I'll definitely be there waiting for a port or sequel. It's easily the most underrated game I've ever played. I'm confident it'll happen at some point but either way I'l likely have more Xeno stuff to play in the meantime if whatever's next is Xenoblade 4.

So... I have not written in weeks. I'm honestly not in the mood to write. I know I need to. I know I need to finish Alana's story... But... I'm not gonna force myself to write. I'm gonna try to get some writing done during my vacation time next month... But I can't make any promises, since I'm gonna spend some of that time with my best friend hunting my wedding dress and her bridesmaid dress.

I've begun streaming to Twitch and posting more to YouTube. I'm currently saving up G so I can play more of Armin's Alternate Life Route. Other than that, I'm streaming Devil May Cry 5 and Palworld.

I'm almost done with my Gaming PC set up! I've just gotta get the webcam and that's it! I got a pretty XBOX controller and a set of cat ear headphones in recently!

Other than in specifically MCL designated spaces, I'm not going by "Alana". I'm going by my real name or my Sailor Scout name. Since I'm using Sailor Melody more...

I can't get the venue for my wedding until the end of next month. But my fiancé and I have already started working hard to make the event as amazing as possible.

I think I've mentioned it before... But, since last September, I've been on a HUGE Devil May Cry kick. Nero is occupying my brain most of the time these days... Especially since I've started playing DMC5 on both my PS4 and my PC. Since then, my collection of DMC merch has grown like crazy. There are 2 acrylic stands of Nero on my dresser. I've got the art books. There's a button on a lanyard in my living room. Just in my office, there are 3 acrylic stands and a button of Nero on my desk, 3 keychains and a tin sign of Nero on the wall my desk is by, I'm designing 2 dedicated shelves to DMC, and there's a folding fan above my office closet. I've even made friendship bracelets for Dante, Vergil, Nero and V.

This DMC kick is so bad that I've commissioned @candysweetposts for a MCL illustration edit that will include Nero. And I'm currently waiting until my next paycheck so I can pay Drachea Rannak what I owe him for an image of Nero from DMC 5, Sailor Melody and Brock from Pokemon.

With Valentine's Day next week, my work week is crazy. And then, after I get off from work on Valentine's Day, my fiancé and I are planning on seeing Captain America: Brave New World at the theater... Since Marvel movies are romantic for us!

The US is a complete shit show right now. Soul and I have been complaining about it in the discord server like crazy and it's only gonna get worse. I'm actually thinking about not taking my fiancé's last name until after Trump has left office... Mainly because he is implementing Project 2025. I did not vote for what's going on. I've always voted against Trump and his cronies. I hate Elon Musk. And the main things that are keeping me hopeful are that AOC and Jasmine Crockett are working hard to defy what's happening and protect the people from this fascism.

Halloween is upon us. How do you think the characters would celebrate? Who enjoys Halloween the most? What would they dress up as?

okey so, the squad would probably have just a small get together where they splurge on candy and having a drawing for what Halloween movies they are going to watch.

Patty is easily the most excited about this, and always goes full force as soon as September ends. She's the one who does the most decorating, although she does drag Dante into decorating the office with her as well.

Costumes are usually not needed, but since this is Vergil's first Halloween with them Patty insists they all wear costumes. Morrison (who never wears a costume, he's too old for this shit) was elected as the judge.

Dante thought it would be funny to pair up with Vergil; he insisted they go as Jason and Freddy Kruger respectively, even though Vergil has not seen any of the movies. The costumes are handmade and kinda shitty, but the highlight was Dante tapping kitchen knives to Vergil's fingers.

Patty wanted to match their theme so she went as Ghostface. Over the course of the party every single person in the office was called by her at least once.

Nero heard about the 'scary' theme through osmosis and it went completely over his head. He was dressed as Scooby-Doo. Kyrie took pity on him and showed up dressed as Daphne an hour after the party started. The kids though he looked great tho.

Nico is the reason Nero got the theme wrong. She dressed as Velma but thought it would be funny if it was specifically a slutty Velma. Dante thought that the entire situation was fuckign hilarious.

Trish and Lady actually coordinated (they always do) and went as Holmes and Watson. The difference being that Watson had a lot more guns than usual.

Lady and Trish tied with Patty for winning the coveted plastic trophy Kyrie had picked up on the way over. Vergil sliced it straight down the middle before their argument devolved into a fistfight.
