I've seen a post where OP received an ask from someone saying that they received hate accusing them of being "less of a fan" because they play only the ENG version, and OP went on a huge rant accusing ENG fans who prefer the JP version of pulling this shit. To be honest, I disagree with OP and think this is a JP speaking only fandom exclusive thing. Hell, it seems like the person who sent this ask was trying to make that point, but didn't articulate it well.
I've been in the ENG TWST fandom since Scarabia dropped on the JP servers. I've NEVER seen anyone on this side of the fandom say that ENG only players are stupid idiots that are unable to handle the "greatness" of the "true version". Not once. (To be honest, even the Japanese version has massive writing issues and is very flawed. I've lobbed criticism at it plenty of times before. But that's another topic completely.) Granted, there might be some people Twitter spouting this BS out that I'm not aware of, considering I don't have an account on there, but even I find that unlikely.
For the most part, I've seen fellow ENG speaking JP players recommend watching the fansubs over playing the official version. That's understandable thanks to the 4Kids-like censorship (erasing Azul's ED, changing the Scarabia Dou's backstory to the point Jamil seems like a completely different character, scrapping all of the instances where Jamil calls Kalim his "master" and the swearing, getting rid of all of the hints of the Asims being off-screen villains, etc) and weird writing choices. Hell, I highly recommend anyone getting into this fandom to watch the fan subs instead as well! There's a difference between recommending the original and genuinely looking down upon someone for only playing the official English one. One is being helpful while other just makes you a dick.
People have less off a right to do that in this fandom. This isn't a typical dub vs sub situation where one side has perfectly understandable reasons to pick one over the other like blindness or being neurospicy. Even I admit I prefer dubs unless they are super inaccurate like YGO or Tokyo Mew Mew. Both versions of the game are subtitled in Japanese.
That's why I suspect this is more of a thing for JP speaking only fans than anyone international. Because I've seen the Asian fan base act haughty and holier than thou about this sorta thing in other fandoms. (Looking at you Asian Persona and Danganronpa fandoms). From what I heard, the JP TWST fandom is no different.
Don't get it twisted. If you think I'm deflecting the blame, I'm not. While the ENG speaking fandom is far from being the most toxic fandom I've been a part of, if anything it's about average, it has countless issues as well. Not tagging posts correctly, the hate lobbed at content creators no matter what gender "Yuu" you create, misinformation spreading around like wildfire, stupid fandom hot takes like accusing characters like Vil of "being racist" over stupid shit, sadly usual actual racism and queerphobia that springs up in all western fandoms, etc. I just don't think this one is particular is one of them.

what relationship does kore have with: kalim, jamil, epel, rook and vil (scarabia and pomefiore >>>>)
Thank you, Shiro, for the ask!!
“... ‘Why am I turning red?’ N-No reason at all! Seriously! Ah, please don’t laugh!”
Kalim Al-Asim: Strangers to Friends to Lovers. The sunshine children. Kore and Kalim’s friendship is a weird, overnight development. They just click and it shows. They share a lot of traits and are almost always on the exact same wavelength. They enjoy adventure and their main expectation from life is just to have fun. It doesn’t take long for them to fall in a routine in which they are almost always seen in the presence of the other, and it probably takes even shorter for them to develop feelings for each other. The only problem is that they are pretty dense so for the longest time their mutual pining is them telling themselves that the other is just a good friend and nothing more. Even when it becomes painfully obvious to everybody around them that that is not the case.
I think that the main advantage of their relationship is that they provide the other with something that they need or want and lack. For Kore, Kalim is basically the escape from her previously monotonous life as he’s filled with kindness and a need for adventure that matches her. She’s always dreamed of having a big family, just like Kalim has and most likely needs someone who can cheer her up when she lets her insecurities get the best of her.
For Kalim, Kore would be someone that can match his enthusiasm and energy, but would also push him to become a better version of himself. He admires her hardworking nature and how good she is at taking care of herself and being independent so he would feel determined to do his best to follow that sort of example.
Theirs would be a relationship based on mutual support and give-and-take, with both always encouraging the other to just improve and enjoy life.
“Viper-senpai’s honest side is kinda refreshing, don’t you so too?”
Jamil Viper: Unexpected Friends. In a way these two are both complete opposites and surprisingly similar. They’re both reliable, hardworking, good at cooking and managing others, but while Kore is often dangerously honest, Jamil prefers to hide his true self behind a mask. In Jamil’s eyes Kore often can be a nuisance and a troublesome person to deal with, especially given that she’s almost as naive and dense as Kalim. While Kore seems to fail to understand why Jamil can’t just be honest with himself and those around him.
Still these two share a somewhat similar goal: earning their freedom. Jamil wants to escape the suffocating system that he’s been raised into and prove himself, while Kore wants to escape her from the very narrow worldview in which she’s been stuck into until now and finally explore the world. From this point of view they seem to perfectly understand each other.
As a result, after Jamil’s Overblot they become friends in a rather unexpected manner. It is the sort of friendship in which Kore supports and encourages Jamil to be more honest, claiming that she likes this side of him, while Jamil seems to try and look after her occasionally. He would deny them being friends, while Kore would simply pout and ask him to stop being so dishonest with himself.
“Epels so cute that it makes me jealous sometimes. Oh, but he asked me not to call him that...”
Epel Felmier: Fellow Country Mouse. Kore’s not particularly good at reading people, but instantly recognized that Epel was a fellow country mouse like her. Maybe it was instinct or maybe like attracts like, but it was clear that Kore was surprisingly not fooled by the ‘noble young man’ act that he always puts on. Their friendship is the sort that revolves around a mutual understanding of how important hard work is. Kore sometimes expresses envy in regards to Epel’s cute looks, which never fails to annoy him, while he himself has said that he wished he could have the sort of brute strength Kore has often displayed.
Epel doesn’t really understand Kore’s admiration of Vil, or Rook for that matter. He was taken aback when he realized that despite her odd behaviour she was one of the top students in their grade. Kore has also expressed that she wishes she could have had a big family like Epel has and enjoys listening to stories about his grandmother. They also bond over their mutual interest in Magift and Kore often volunteers to turn up during practice to cheer for Epel, even though she currently banned from the stadium.
“When it comes to reliable and kind seniors nobody compares to Rook-senpai!”
Rook Hunt: Big Brother Figure. Kore’s first reaction towards Rook was to be surprised by his unusual attitude. Her second was to be annoyed by his nickname for her. And her third was to be intrigued by his kindness. In a way, Kore finds a sense of familiarity in Rook as she’s often been told that she can behave rather oddly sometimes. She finds it inspiring just how confident and easy-going he can be, but also serious when he needs to. As members of the same club they end up spending quite a lot of time together which leads to Kore ultimately thinking of him as a sort of big brother since he looks after her, gives her advice, encourages her and teaches her new things, though she hasn’t actually expressed this sentiment towards him. She gets very happy when she is praised by him.
Rook, meanwhile, is also a little intrigued by Kore and her rather unusual circumstances. He is pleased that she appreciates Vil’s beauty and often tells her all sorts of stories about him and his beauty. He finds her quite endearing too and, at her request, has started to teach her some hunting tricks in order to try and catch Leona with his guard down so she can pet his tail. He sometimes helps her with fashion advice and always lends an ear when she feels troubled. He has noticed that she views him as a big brother and seems rather amused and pleased with that notion.
“I wonder if I can get Schoenheit-senpai to sign my notebook and write ‘You can do it!’ Wouldn’t that want to make you work harder?”
Vil Schoenheit: Idol. When Kore was researching things that normal teenagers would be into she stumbled across a certain dorm leader’s MagiCam account and instantly became a fan. Vil was basically everything that Kore longed to be: poised, elegant, graceful and respected. So she started attempting to emulate him and began paying more attention to her clothes, skin, hair, body and manners, but because she has been rather unfamiliar with all these things, she did not manage to accomplish much besides a mastery of intricate hairstyles. Meeting him in person threw her for a loop, but it only made her admire him even more and will get uncharacteristically shy when in his presence. She has scrapbook album dedicated to him that she keeps under her bed and away from Grim’s eyes.
For his part, Vil does not think much of Kore beyond the fact that she’s a rather odd girl with a horrible fashion sense. Though hearing Rook speak kindly of her did pique his interest and her somewhat star stuck expression when he called her a potato convinced him that she’s not the type of person he’s used to dealing with. Still, he can’t help but admit that she does have a certain talent with managing intricate hairstyles, even if she is otherwise hopeless when it comes to her appearance.
