i love it when people who are really bad at parsing media, understand something correctly, but bc they're so used to being baffled they think they have interpreted something clever and subtextual when they have instead understood sth straightforward and intentional.

like there's all these comments on the pv for "portrait of pirate f" that are like "my fan theory is that what Len/Peter Pan read in Kaito/Hook's journal is that Hook used to be the previous Peter before he got bored of it and turned to piracy, and that's why Len becomes a pirate too!" Like yes that's correct, that's not your interpretation that's literally exactly what is implied in the video lmao? Which is why the song is named after the pirate and not the kid, and also what makes it actually interesting

But even better than that is when the same ppl go on to be wrong about sth completely straightforward, like "and the Miku that Rin/Tinkerbell is approaching at the end must be the Wendy figure, because they both wear blue" like no wtf she's the next Peter Pan, Len's character has become the next Hook, so Rinkerbell is scouting the next child who will become Pan (and eventually defeat the pirate, get bored, and then become the next pirate, at which point Rinkerbell will find another child to continue the cycle) aaaaaUUUGH
