NO BUT LIKE the X-Files literally had their female lead shoot and kill a man in cold blood who had previously tormented her, she didn't HAVE to do that, it's not a question of self-defense at that point it's just straight-up MURDER, and then after 6 and (almost) a half seasons plus a whole movie of the male lead focusing every ounce of purpose he has on pursuit of the truth in a world full of lies, HE LIES FOR HER. it's always been about justice via the truth, making the truth come to light no matter the cost, but just this once he willingly hides the truth — but only for her

#I've seen a lot of talk about how if she hadn't killed pfaster he would have done it and honestly? yeah #for real. I'm surprised he didn't come in shooting already bc the absolute RAGE at the violation of scully....
