Despite him being my Legion run, I love thinking about Brutus post-game when he finally cuts ties with the legion.
It only really clicks that he was never a person AFTER he's helped hand Caesar the Mojave on a silver platter, and once he figures it out he TRIES to stay, he tries to be content with his place but after that every little thing he's ordered to do makes him sick.
So he cuts and runs. He spends a good long while trying to fix things in the Mojave, sabotaging Legion trade routes, helping enemies of the legion escape, etc. But it's not enough, and the guilt eats him alive.
So he goes back to the divide, to the little place his brother built and is determined to build something there. He reunites with Ulysses and the build something together, out of the ruins and ash, it's small, and ramshackle, and could never amount to what the divide used to be. but it's THEIRS well and truly, and no bear, no bull, nothing could ever take it from them because its mostly just... them.
