#the “reminiscent of MCU” bit especially applies to a lot of dialogue in Ragnarök

On the topic of "myth accuracy", one thing I have to complain about is how sometimes you'll have situations that are 'mythology exclusive', such as talking animals etc. And the writers will either have one of the characters give some kind of logical explanation for it, or other characters will go "What? That's not possible!" and act completly bewildered. This is especially jarring when the world/plot has other similiar situations, to which the characters don't have any wild reaction at all. It feels a bit isekai and MCU esque, which I don't consider a compliment.
If my mind serves me correctly, this is something the writers started doing in the Norse saga of GoW. I can't remember anything like this happening in the Greek era. Now, you could explain it by the fact Kratos is new to the realms — but I don't think he should be saying "That is not possible." to Jörmungandr being sent back in time, considering he himself went back in time and did other wild stuff.
It also gives me the impression the writers have an attitude of "Isn't that just ridiculous? How could someome actually believe in this!" towards the mythology.
