the theory is that everyone is technically a Pokemon because rather than following the real worlds path of evolution the world of pokemon is based on an outdated hypothesis of evolution called Recapitulation claiming each stage of the fetus on its way to maturation of the animal its going to be represents the adult stage of an ancestor and because all fetuses look the same at certain stages theres many similar points of origin. In pokemons case that point of orgin is specifically stated to be mew, who has dna for literally everything, which ultimately means some people can move shit with their mind and other people have the strength of ten men because all humans at some point were technically all mews and people evolve to suit their environment like pokemon because they are pokemon

This was honestly supposed to be a quick one but I got too invested bc this is my first fa of this ship :')

Context:

Consider this an au where Aang never had a crush on Katara and the tension instead revolved around her and Zuko throughout the series. A spark at first sight so to speak. Fate would step in several times where they'd somehow end up separating from their groups and find each other in the same vicinity. They're both temperamental, so they'd naturally start fighting and exchanging barbs but would always hold back from truly hurting each other. There was disdain but also slight curiosity there. However, it would mostly go ignored, spitefully so in Katara's end after the catacombs debacle, until Zuko realises that he messed up and goes back to fix things.

Note: He never paired back up with Mai during this period bc my boy may have been in denial but he knew enough not to lead anyone on just for the sake of normalcy, especially when he was feeling all types of conflicted. On that note, he still got pushed to spend some together with Jin back in Ba Sing Se but firmly and point blank told her that it was not a date --

bc all he could think about were fiery blue eyes

--but didn't mind going together as friends.

He would definitely be more awkward around Katara once he joins the team and Katara would be just as vicious bc the betrayal, while painful in canon, would probably be more devastating here since personal unresolved feelings (that have been building up since their many accidental meet ups) are involved. He'd still do his best to help her out while also trying not to be an eyesore by watching longingly from a distance. The rest of the Gaang just finds this a bit sad but also hilarious.

Like canon, things get better after Zuko and Katara went on their lifechanging bonding trip to find Kya's killer but instead of the one sided awkward/hostility, they were now both awkward and would shyly but somehow seamlessly move as a unit while they worked around the site, especially when it came time to make meals for everyone.

Fleeting touches, eyes locking for a few seconds before looking away, sitting in closer proximity around the campfire, Zuko silently placing flowers in places where Katara would easily find it and Katara reciprocating by making little snacks and giving it to him every now and then, particularly after his training sessions with Aang. If they sometimes held hands while they sat in silence after a long, hard day, then that's no one's business but their own.

Idk. I feel like it's a good kind of irony that they're both so passionate people who used to fight each other on sight but have this slow and sweet exploratory type of romance that would mostly go unacknowledged (out loud, though both knew the feeling was mutual) until after the war. Fits the vibe I had for them while drawing this so it was fun.

ah jeez thats long. moving on. since I don't ever plan to continue writing anything for it ( at least not in the foreseeable future ), I have a Notion page for my high-fantasy stuff, which looks like this ->

i've been sitting on this world for like five years now? At least, I think i started it in 2019, and it's gotten a lot more sophisticated since then ( like the languages and everything and the MAP . . . phew ). But those are the characters ( at least, some of them. the ones in the main cast bar are, well, the main cast. The ones in the ToT bar are less important but still lore-relevant ).

I also have some post-apocalyptic sci-fi stuff going on ( phew this is a lot, now that I'm looking at it ), that is more world-building and blueprints than characters at the moment ( though I do have them fleshed out--just not drawn anywhere ). I've always been really into post-apocalyptic stories, especially those with an environmentalist touch. Nausicaa is and will forever be my favorite Ghibli film. But here's some worldbuilding blueprints stuff I did for that one. These are from 2021 . . . and in desperate need of refinements clearly.

i have been unmedicated for the entirety of spring break and thus have had little interest in writing this down, but i have been thinking about this for the entire week (as well as a dpdc clone danny au that resulted in it becoming its entirely separate batman au that includes a teenage vigilante bruce wayne, an ocarina, and me entirely incapable of making a batman au without making bruce dirt poor but we're not talking about that) and so i've finally went 'fuck it' and forcibly grabbed my laptop. I will get this done in one sitting even if it kills me.

BUT. This is about neither clone^2 danny nor about who i am calling Ocarina Batman. This is about my Danyal Al Ghul Au and more SPECIFICALLY it's me thinking about his relationship with Sam and Tucker specifically.

Tucker and Sam? Adore this asshole (affectionate) with every fiber of their being. And it is very much a reciprocated feeling, but Danny's thoughts will not be delved into much other than he would kill for them.

Tucker? The only person currently capable of getting a deep, loud, belly laugh out of Danny. Sam can get him to smile and to laugh, but it's the kind that's a chuckle-under-the-breath. The quiet, looks-down-while-huffing laughter. Snorts once with laughter and then grins stupidly.

But Tucker? Tucker can crack a slew of stupid jokes and Danny will be incapacitated for the next five minutes because he's laughing so hard that he can't breath. He lands one well-timed pun or quip and Danny will be close to tears. His laughter is their favorite sound in the whole world.

Sam is lowkey jealous of this ability, and she's gotten a belly laugh out of Danny a few times. But alas, it is Tucker who wields this power and has gotten it the most times out of the two of them.

They're also both physically affectionate with Danny as much as possible. It started roughly around when they were 12-ish, a year since they befriended Danny, and they noticed that he sought after touch but never seemed to initiate (and was in some ways repulsed by it). They started slowly being more touchy with him. Hooking a finger around his to lead him somewhere, tapping his wrist, looping arms. Little touches, grabs, etc, to get him used to it, and once he started doing it back they started increasing it.

It's gotten to a point where he will now just. Lay on them. Like a lizard sunbathing on a rock. Leaning on their backs when they're sitting in class before the bell rings, his chin on their heads. He'll talk about anything with his arms looped around their shoulders.

If they're sitting on a couch at either of their houses, he'll lay his legs on theirs. Him and Tucker will press their feet against the other's and try and push against them (newsflash: Danny always wins, Tucker claims its the ghost strength but Danny's been winning since before his accident)

Naturally, both Sam and Tucker know where Danny keeps his weapons on his person, and are allowed to grab them off of him if they need it. His only requirement is that they don't lose his weapons if they take it and forget to return it immediately.

They both understand how big of a thing this is from Danny, and so they do their best to treat his weapons with a lot of respect and care because they know its his way of saying he trusts them.

Sam and Tucker are so fond of Danny it's insane. Like fr. That's their goddamn best friend, and they are so protective of him. Emotionally, physically, you name it. They will tear the head off a grown man if they need to, Danny's had scars since he arrived in Amity Park and Sam and Tucker both are going to find the person who put them there and make them pay for it.

One time, Tucker overheard a bunch of upperclass girls speaking nastily about Danny and about the rumors surrounding him, calling him names like 'freak', 'monster', etc. Danny was with him and heard it, and seemingly appeared unbothered by it, even telling Tucker that he was used to such rumors.

Tucker was so furious that hacked into the school system later that night and tanked those girls grades. They were kicked out of their clubs and had to go to mandatory tutoring for the rest of the year. He made sure to leave some way of letting them know it was him who did it.

And Sam doesn't like using her money for things, doesn't like abusing that wealth. So instead, whenever her parents talk bad about Danny, she causes a media incident that has her parents scrambling to deal with. She does something wild, outrageous by her parents' standards.

She heard some boys on the basketball team making fun of Danny once, similar to those girls had. She kicks up a fuss about something eco-unfriendly at school and forcibly holds a protest on the same day of the big home basketball game, forcing them to cancel the event and reschedule to a visiting school.

She anonymously donates money so that there's new uniforms for the team but oops! Looks like she "forgot" to donate enough money for them to get uniforms for all the team members, and strangely enough those boys in particular didn't get them! Looks like they'll have to wait until more money gets donated for the basketball team to get their new, nice uniforms. The old ones look so ratty in comparison, right?

And since the football team gets most of the sport money, that might just take awhile. And if (and when) they kick up a fuss? oops! Off the basketball team you go, :) such unsportsman-like behavior is unfit for the team.

(The only good thing about how corrupt the school system is is that she can use it to her advantage too.)

The both of them know that Danny suspects them for the sudden misfortune falling on these people, but he doesn't call them out on it. He's kinder than he used to be, but not kind enough to vouch for people who speak badly of him. Sometimes, he might just congratulate them on not getting caught.

Because Danny is their wonderful, hurt friend with a "slightly" Blue and Orange Moral code, and enough scars that people have been calling him a criminal (and worse) since he arrived in Amity Park when he was ten. And they'll be damned if he gets hurt anymore.

YESS thank you so much!!! You could say it was twisted by the transmission much like six was, but in his own escapist fantasy of heroics and adoration...though admittedly I think time and loneliness and agony are more than enough to make a monster out of anyone, no otherworldly forces necessary. (Though it certainly does help~)

The Thin Man rly encapsulates a lot of my favorite character tropes, being twisted by what once could have been called love and care, losing yourself to an image, a personification of what you wish to be, desperately reaching for ...what is it? Control? Attention? Connection, beyond the parasocial?

Since it's Valentine's Day I might as well post some appropriately themed art from a year and a half ago! It's all new guys !! Or, actually, one new guy. The infamous Niklas Korhonen the TV ghost (not very ghost-y here) and Billiam Cryptograph the telepathic person-shaped concept tangle from another realm! I like making characters that are just tropes and these two are the tropiest it gets.

Niklas was a vile and nasty high school bully sidekick until he died abruptly and traumatically in the early 2010's and ended up inside a TV against his will. He's been a TV for about a decade, is fully convinced he is a TV and has always been one, but he's still every part as horrid as he used to be. Billiam is an idea person, a nonphysical powerful being that decided to make his self in the image of humans. He has the confidence of someone who'll never die, the entitlement of someone who has never not had his way in life, the consideration skills you'd expect from somebody who sees physical life as "adorably rudimentary and incapable", and, most unfortunately, a keen interest in humans and western human culture. Idea people are forbidden from going to the physical world but you can guess who broke that streak... Nick and Bill started out with Niklas massively hating Billiam and Billiam annoying Niklas on purpose, then they slowly became friends with a common interest of "keeping it light" (insulting others as a joke), something something, surprise! They fell in love. It's fun to draw them all cutesy wutesy because they are about the last people on Earth and beyond who you'd expect to be a functional and healthy couple lol. One in a billiam relationship :)
