“Have a good evening, Monsieur!”

Neuvillette waves as the elevator begins to move with a jittery clank that would alarm most but him. It’d been a while since he’d last visited the Fortress of Meropide but the ever-unchanging rustiness of the elevator was a familiar comfort—much of Fontaine has changed since Furina’s retirement, and yet this would remain the same.

Tonight’s occasion would also be a wonderful journey down memory lane. Sigewinne had graciously invited him to attend her tea party, and both Chlorinde and Wriothesley also accepted the invitation. He extended the invite to Furina who’d promptly rejected him after discovering the duke would be there as well; try as he might to foster an amicable relationship, she was still hesitant to reach out to those whose lives were affected by the rulings of the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale. It was a change he knew would have to come in time.

For now, until the day she was ready, he would watch nurture these relationships in her place

The elevator dings as it descends to the bottom. The prisoners bark excited shouts as they spy him, some waving and others running away, but strangely neither Wriothesley nor Chlorinde are ready to greet him at the entrance. He stands there a minute, waiting, but as the stares of the people grow more perplexed by the second, he shifts uncomfortably.

“Mister Neuvillette!”

“Sigewinne.” He smiles as the little head nurse approaches him. She waves, cheerful, and he kneels to pat her head. “How are you? Where are the other two?”

“Everything’s good! Well, except,” she huffs, gesturing in the direction of the duke’s office. “Those two won’t come out and enjoy the tea party!”

Strange. There were no pressing cases or concerns that should occupy them on this occasion. Neuvilette hums. “Do you know why?”

She giggles, amusement sparkling in her eyes. “See for yourself!”

It is a short walk to the office, made shorter with haste when Sigewinne leaves halfway to brew a new pot of tea. There’s no reply to his knock on the door, but the office was made soundproof to begin with, and Neuvillette pries it open with ease. The ringing echo of a cackle greets his ears, and he huffs in understanding.

Those two…

“Wriothesley! Chlorinde! You’ve kept Sigewinne waiting.”

The laughter doesn’t cease. It is an even shorter walk up the spiraling stairs and Neuvillette is both unsurprised and unimpressed by the sight of Wriothesley splayed over Chlorinde, both their outer garments discarded on the nearby couch, her boot kicking his thigh as she tosses her head back in laughter. His hands, gloveless, dig into her waist, and he looks up with a grin.

“There you are! Rare of you to run late, Monsieur.”

“Neuvillette! Ahehaha get this dog off mehehehe!” Chlorinde’s back arches as she shrieks, Wriothesley’s hands climbing up her sides and under her arms. Her right comes sharply down to protect herself as the other slaps his hand, the sound reverberating. In response, Wriothesley only climbs further onto the desk, tickling her with newfound amusement.

This too, Neuvillete supposes, is a constant that’s yet to change.

He sighs, pinching the skin above his nose as Chlorinde’s leg hits the desk with a resounding bang! The image forms neatly in his head: Sigewinne trying to pry the two apart with no avail, her poor tea and cookies abandoned until he arrived late from work. He’d mistakenly assumed the other two would be timely and have started the party without him but…

Well, in a way, this could be considered a party. His lips twitch as Chlorinde’s voice cracks when Wriothesley’s hands give into the meat of her thighs, a weak point, and he looks at the wetness beginning to gather in her eyes.

“Come on, bodyguard. Can’t handle a little tickling? I’m sure you—Eek!”

Wriothesley leaps back, desk suffering yet another kick in the process, as his arms snap to his sides. It’s too little, too late, and a fresh cackle bursts free of him as Neuvilette tweaks the ends of his ribs. “Monsieur!”

“Behave, Duke,” Neuvilette warns, though there’s amusement in his tone that has Wriothesley cringing away in panic. “You can handle a little tickling, can’t you?”

“Wait—wahahhait noho!”

“You’ve kept Sigewinne waiting so long she has to brew a fresh pot now,” he tsks. “We’ll have to entertain ourselves in the meanwhile…”

“Neheheheuvillettehehehe!”

The sound of cackles rings through the room once more. It is only once Neuvilette properly tires him out (with the aid of Chlorinde’s masterful fingers once she recovers) that he hauls them both to Sigewinne’s party. Quite literally, as they’ve decided to exhaust themselves beforehand; the sight of him carrying Fontaine’s strongest duo, one tucked in each arm, has the prisoners whispering and both Wriothesley and Chlorinde’s faces burning red. None of it matters as much as the way Sigewinne’s face brightens when she sees them entering the room, a freshly brewed pot of tea set on the table.

I just had a knavillette idea and had to tell you! Knavillette combining their families. Arle has the twins and freminet and Neuvi has Sigewinne. Arle's kids call her "Father" and Sigewinne calls Neuvi "Papa" (Wrio is "Dad"). So now the twins and freminet got a Papa and Sigewinne got a Father. Father and Papa Neuvi being the soft Papa and Arle being the strict Father raahhh im going crazy because of this idea

Thats actually kinda what my modern AU is. He has several daughters! He had his daughters are Sedene and Mamere with Elynas (whos passed away), his other daughter Carole with her father Vautrin (divorced, Neuvillette was unintentionally emotionally unavailable at the time so it put a strain on their relationship), and finally Sigewinne with an unamed ex boyfriend (was gonna be Wrio but he's dating Lyney in this one so,,, that'd be really damn weird).

Wrio in this AU is just a family friend like Furina.

Father is absolutely THE strict one. I think she was in the military so you know how strict those guys are, and she lowkey fucked up her kids with her rules and expectations.

(Marrying Neuvillette and bringing his daughters into the family was a breath of fresh air.)

a little silly doodles of the academy's (literal) star student! i was thinking of what would their file have about them since i feel alot of the harem members especially those who are close to the staff members of the academy or helps around with that department of the school since im used to volunteering for stuff like that 😭 but anyway im pretty sure probably people like diluc(canonically has alot of connections), neuvillette(canon can go through files of fontaines citizens), scara(irminsul.....), zhongli (walking encyclopedia), Alhaitham(scribe), amd a few more but don't wanna squeeze my brain dry just to think! anyway these people has definitely have access to the school's files of students since they're needed for I.Ds and stuff!

the funny thing is... Asteria's origins is a little bit complicated... As I mention its not easy feat to enter the academy im guessing and they obviously had Alice's help and the reason for that is that they're... technically not a registered citizen in that world. They don't exactly have a birth certificate to prove they "exist"... They originated from a very low class home town and was literally in poverty. Their family wasn't exactly present so whenever the government would have free limited events of registering unregistered children when Asteria's was younger they didn't do it for Asteria which proved to be a problem. Later on in life Asteria surprisingly grew up wise and intelligent through threw away books of near by semi prestigious schools in their area which they picked up and learned from!! they had a passion for knowledge especially in the field of science and wished to be a famous astronomer! but of course being faced with the harsh reality they will probably never achieve that dream theyve accepted it but still enjoys learning ANYTHING new like they love learning and observing it's such... such a refreshing thing to see for passionate teachers that volunteers and teach in asteria's low class neighborhood it brings a tear in their eyes.

anyway let's say.. alice was one of these volunteers and noticed young Asteria's passion and was intrigued by this. A diamond in the rough! that's insane to Alice and so she took some years to observe Asteria by occasionally dropping by the grungy neighborhood and sees asteria sharing their learnings and be a bright kid whilst having that playful charm they had. So Alice decided to take it herself that she'll help Asteria study the proper education before establishing her grand plan offffffff.... enrolling Asteria to the academy that her daughter and niece is in LMAOO

And before all this. Asteria's real name isn't even Asteria Stellar... That was only a name that Alice created for them to describe their passion and their behavior, the stellar describing how out of this world their pursuit of knowledge was hence the stellar as their last name but their real name was Yvaine(meaning: north star) to represent as the light and guide for the kids in that neighborhood for helping the kids to learn atleast a bit and guided them through the shitty reality!!! asteria is a really nice kid back then huhu

anyway once asteria finally hits the age of entering the academy Alice got some connections to help her make a... semi legitimate birth certificate and some documents to make up some "normal" life that Asteria supposedly have so yeah baam thats when "Asteria Stellar" was created!

so basically what I'm saying if any of these harem maniacs even TRIES to check their history or origins they'll... probably have a major difficult time because it's so obscure thanks to Alice making sure that no one will figure out this because if this gets out then not only Asteria will get in alot of trouble so will Alice so ermmm... but yeah! other than this if they just get the courage and ask Asteria themselves to talk more about themselves then Asteria will gladly tell their tale! it's pretty easy to get information of them actually if you just approach them 😓 it's because of this stupid reputation and aura they exude makes them looks approachable and it doesn't help the fact they have long ass hair that makes them look those intimidating characters that's good in everything huhuuu doesn't matter tho

also them being filo is a bit important since they have a tiny bit of an accent when speaking in English if its not in an academic setting! They also their culture alot but not alot of people knows this because they all assume that Asteria isn't Filipino but another ethnicity because of the accent?? 😭 which makes asteria confuzzled (from experience)

i thought Neuvillette and Navia would be a more popular ship bc their scene at Callas' graves gave huge Jane Austen/period drama vibes but now i feel he's more paternal toward her than anything. i can't see him with Furina either if i'm being honest.. but i always look forward to your insights bc you always have such smart and interesting observations <3

thank you! :3 their confrontation with navia was very dramatic and emotionally charged, yeah, but like you gotta remember context in the narrative. like, their scenes were about critiquing failures of the justice system, with neuvi being a representative of it as the high judge. like navia is literally the victim of failures of fountaine court that followed the letter of the law and let her father die, yelling at the authority who allowed that to happen. if this authority figure then somehow had expressed any interest\attraction to said victim, that would be like beyond fucked up. like navia's role in the plot is to be representation of common ppl suffering from the negligence of the rulers, neuvi as a ruler can only stand there and nod sadly as she yells at him, there cannot be any chemistry, come on adfgjk

and this ties to the "paternal" vibes like come on, not everything has to be family coded. neuvi is a sovereign\god of life, a lot of his interactions is immediately taking responsibility\care of weaker people\people in need. if we start calling this "paternal" every time its gonna get ridiculous. and also like he is canonically a single dad of 400+ daughters, we do have example of how him being paternal looks like. so like, does he look like that when interacting with a character? no? then mb lets not assign him a dad for said character. seriously, i think there is a very distinct difference in how he lights up and interacts with melusines, who are actually vishaps and part of his bloodline, compared to him being benevolent ruler interactions

with furina specifically i don't like the paternal angle bc like it infantilizes her a bit, like they are the same age first of all. but also it erases interesting dynamic of archon and dragon i was talking about before, because yeah, she IS the one actually in charge, even if he's more powerful and ppl can tell. She pulls the rank on him ALL THE TIME, and she's in precarious situation where the rank is all she has, she cannot force him to do smth and it throws her off when he confronts her about it, like when she assumed he would go cover her in meeting with arlecchino without even asking him, he was like "thats not my job tho:\" and she lost her shit panicking, and pulled rank on IM THE GOD TRUST ME even harder. like there is a lot of interesting power play between them, even not touching colonialism specifically, where she is the puppet-ruler in power just bc his usurper took that power, and trying to force it into family box erases it

About Max (childhood):

due to Arlecchino often having to be away on Harbinger/ Fatui missions, Max was raised mainly by Furina. that said, Arle does try her best to be there for her daughter, spending time w her whenever shes free, and often brings Max little souvenirs from her travels.

while Max was a baby, Furina took a sabbatical from her directing work to raise her. she instilled in Max an appreciation of the arts, with her skillful reenactments, and puppet shows of various plays and stories. once Max is a bit older, Furina starts taking up jobs again, leaving her child in Neuvillettes care at the Palais Mermonia, and picking her up at the end of the day. Neuvi doesnt mind, as Max is a well-behaved kid and either brings books w her to read, or draws while shes there. Sedene and the other melusines take a shine to her, making sure Max never has a shortage of snacks and tea throughout the day.

About Martin:

Martin is her loyal canine companion. she found him as a puppy, tangled in some fishing nets. of course she begs her parents to take him in, and they acquiesce on the condition that he is her responsibility now. since then Martin never leaves her side, even accompanying her on Hearth missions

About Max (hobbies): Max really likes nature, and ever since she found Martin stuck in nets carelessly left behind by some fishers, she took to cleaning litter in her free time.

furina genshin impact is in canon, a she/her, i heavily disagree with this because of his design, and his overal character being made 1) from someone else and 2) "[he] was made to be the perfect human" that focalors created for himself, focalors is also trans but more genderfuckery because his gender is Divinity and also dead. anyways.

focalors design is a mirror image of furina's "archon" outfit the light one, pneuma version i believe, and in focalors top part of the dress, its quite revealing! theres a lot of chest skin showing there and the most important thing about this; flat. literally no tiddy there at all in the slightest.

now because focalors made furina based on himself, they have the exact same body, just duplicated, meaning! furina also has literally no tiddy!! nothing!! zip zilch na da!!! he has a very rectangular torso (adding evidence to my transmasc idea), even if he did have canon tits (which he does not this is proven) he is purposefully covering them up with the french ass ruffles hes got going on up there, /purposefully/ covering.

the most exposed furinas design is, is his legs, he has rather short shorts (akin to hu tao who Also has no titty but there is room to see a curve there because hu tao doesnt have. the chest ruffles) ((this could lead to how hu taos design is also quite tmasc coded but sadly enough im not a hu tao insaner)) so i could Maybe sort of if i squint real hard i can see why people would want to exaggerate the legs a little

pushing most of my headcanons aside, literally in canon neuvi is the one constantly down bad for furi, Constantly!!!! he had a moment of realisation in the archon quest, realising he appreciates furina a lot more than he first thought he did (see furina story quest AND neuvi birthday letter)

and also in canon furina is Terrified of losing him, so he distanced himself (see his about neuvillette line)

now headcanon territory kinda ; neuvi watched focalors fucking Die in front of him, whilst givhim the original dragon power back, that shit was still traumatising as all hell , i think neuvi is just as equally afraid of losing furi as furi is of losing him

Okay finished Remuria main quest and wow

well first thing, Scylla is so fucking chill I'm dying. My dude is so nice and helpful, for a guy with a title like Fell Dragon I was expecting a much more grumpy dude (honestly thinking about it more like Dvalin/dendro dragon/etc). I was also expecting doomed toxic yaoi from him and Remus, but no they were bros to the end (the one entrusted with Remus's final song, I'm crying).

But yeah, I'm so glad I knew the lore because I wish I was recording the face I made when Boethius showed up. Jaw dropped (and when the cat was revealed to be Cassiodor. All around really enjoyed how so much of this was set up in lore, and how differences between lore is just how history is portrayed versus reality etc. felt very realistic).

And while Boethius was way more of a twat than I was expecting, I kind of dig how everyone in this story is Complicated TM. Everyone was doing what they thought was best for their people, even if some were more misguided than others and had some atrocious outcomes. Even Boethius, we don't actually know where he ends and Phobos begins, so it is left very ambiguous who he truly was (a monster/good/probably somewhere in the middle), which makes him just as tragic and sad as the rest (He reminds me a lot of my Dedil Furina tbh). They all deserved better.

I really want to draw the Remuria fam now (well my version lol). A family can be a god king, his whale I mean dragon husband, their weird water daughter, their cat whose also a man, a crazy musician man, an even more crazy prophet musical instrument, and weird water daughter's water dragon son who also has a bunch of adopted daughters who are a different dead dragon's kids. The Dragons and the Romans as I like to call them pfft. Bonus: an ancient water goddess and her Queen-Knight-Prophetess girlfriend, looking on in utter bafflement

Though on Erinnyes, the lore that is probably just a title not her actual name is really interesting. Also, that she wasn't the previous king's daughter, but someone who just came sort of out of nowhere... For a hot minute there, I thought she might literally be Sybilla who took the form of a human to fight Remus. But then I was reminded that she died to create Phobos/is basically now Phobos, so probably not (would be interesting if she's like a reincarnation or something though). I haven't finished the area yet though so there might be more lore that I'm missing but hmmmmm. I'm not someone who is sold on her being Furina (also not like she can't be her either), but I am curious if we will get more answers on her eventually, or she'll just be a vague historical figure (like will she show up like Boethius/revealed as Furina/etc).

um... I think thats all for now. Also, I need to see that meeting between Scylla and Neuvillette, it just sounds hilarious.

I've been having a great time with this new patch (harbingers and Remuria, I was only ever going to have a fun time), here's some small rambling thoughts under the cut that aren't particularly spoilerly but just to be safe

Teenage father Arle, I'm in tears. She's a baby. I both love it and hate it, what is this pfft. Also because there is a very real chance that she became a Harbinger at 17, and Ajax has been stated to be the youngest person to become a Harbinger, that means he became a Harbinger sometime between age 14-16 (maybe slightly older if we bump up Arle's age because there is ambiguity there, but still). Of all things my fic to get right, honestly not the one I wanted because of the implications lol. 16-year-old Harbinger Childe, what a thing.

Also, people were always saying that Arle would be shitty because of Childe and Scara's voicelines, but I was always like 'yo those two are super biased they aren't the best source of info' and I like being right pfft. I love stuff like this, it's such fun character building for both parties.

It makes me really curious about Pulcinella, like there are two ways of reading his shit talking of Arle to Childe. A) he's got along with the previous Knave and is pissed she killed her so he's complaining to the kid he picked up, or B) he's intentionally isolating Childe from the other harbingers by making them out to be the worst. Also, could be a mix of both, and either way neither particularly paint him in the best light. Either way, super intrigued (though I personally hope there's nuance to him, we already have the Dottore/Scara dynamic that's just Dottore being the worst. Like don't get me wrong don't want Pulcinella to nessisarilly be a secret amazing guy (and I do like the Dottore Scara dynamic), but I think there's a balance u know).

Rip harbinger found fam u were too good for this world, though I will admit if we aren't getting that I do love a good political drama. I'm digging all the different Fatui factions and how they fight, but also work together.

Also, talk of Tonia rebellious phase makes me giggle because of future fic plans, and that's all I'm gonna say haha.

And finally Remuria! Okay this will be short because I've not had a lot of time this week and only just started that quest lol. But damn what I've seen so far is so cool. I love exploring this sort of thing and because I have a decent grasp of the lore has helped a lot.

Also this me being delusional, but me seeing the cat with heterochromia and how the ruins of Remuria were sealed under a Spring... looks at my Furina fic... (I know I'm delusional, but it brings me joy pfft). Furina is part of my Remuria exploration team for a reason haha.

But yes, I'll probably have more to say later (for example I'm waiting to unlock naturally Arle's voicelines/stories, though I have seen some talk of them), so stay tuned (maybe).
