Kaeyappreciation post!

Kaeya is wonderful in a sense that he:

Has a penmanship described as "Beautiful Handwriting". He for sure worked on that.

Willingly spends his time making sure his outfit looks perfect

Is well-loved by Mondstadt and the Dawn Winery staff

Is described to like a prince, both in looks and in actions

Is shown to be gentle and caring to children and elderly, most seen with Klee and the staff from Dawn Winery

Is a great listener and, therefore, also knows what gifts to buy based off of something someone said in passing

Is predominantly kind- unafraid to help out and defend someone in need. His first reaction is always kindness, and worry about covering up that kindness later on

But Kaeya also has his moments where he:

Says things out of pocket with enough alcohol in his system. Things that usually lead to shame and regret.

Would rather give others the credit for his hard work if he could help it

Intentionally makes himself look suspicious by withholding information and only throwing tidbits that are not of substance

Has sadist tendencies, which affects how he treats both his (cavalry) company and his enemies

Can and will use underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand

Rarely ever says what he truly wants to say

Has a fake smile. Usually lies or only deals with half truths.

He is such a complex character. I really do want people to appreciate him and his intricacies more. The fact that his entire personality and story is done so well and continues to actually grow and expand as the story progresses is something that genuinely makes me want to keep watch of him. I have never, in all my fandoms, stuck to a character as long as I did with Kaeya, and honestly? I know I'm not alone with this.

Also I remembered the way I played Pokemon Black and White 2 again and I don't think I'm ever gonna live down the fact that I never once experienced its endgame, despite playing both versions. Why? I don't know either. I don't know what was going on in my young self's mind cuz Every Single Time, once I defeated the champion, saw the credits, got back home and everything... I'd restart the game.

It was like my character was stuck in a neverending timeloop of going on a journey with the same starter, the same team, and the same steps to reach the end of that adventure, and never knowing if there's anything More beyond winning from the Champion's fight.

She (in my white 2 version I chose the female character) and Him (male character for black 2 version) were both stuck in an endless dance as if cursed to dance to a broken record only knowing peace when I've grown bored of the same song and dance. And yet in the end, still unable to know of the world beyond their own adventure after becoming the new champion.

rewatching ending of season one of attack on titan here r my thoughts (spoilers obvi)

okay so for starters levi seems to like mikasa much more then he likes the other cadets. he doesn’t snap at her and is generally more patient, even when she’s being goofy about eren. i think cause he knows her last name and probably was like wow we r related thats sick.

annie and armin definitely had lil something something. like i felt like it came out of nowhere in season 4 but it did not.

they introduce all the characters so fast, it’s just impossible to get it all first time through.

it’s very rewatchable, except (for me at least) the end of the expedition dragged on quite a bit. because we know we gain nothing and lose levi squad. idk i just felt like ya ya get back in the wall already.

annie is much more sympathetic and relatable then reiner and bertholdt. also reiners kinda an ass even before we know he’s a traitor.

jean legit had to e best character development and absolutely could have been the protagonist. really he’s the only one who evolved as a person in the first season.

okay this is a question but who were all the other military police rookies? only top ten could get in and none of them were top ten of 104th. are there other academies? how many more? i got questions.

Magnifico's "Wish Stealing form" design/some Character Dump (Disney Wish)

Anyways, this post is mainly an MAJIOR STORY IDEA DUMP for my sweet sweet emo Maggy- erm Magnifico (he is glaring at me guys send help please)

Soooo....

I had this terrifying idea for TKoRaT Maggy, even before I had this nightmare of him, where he legit becomes somewhat something like this, but with more vine core when he is taking the wishes/"monster in my closet" wrong vibes.

More like this for the idea I'm going for:

This is one of the ideas I had for Maggy when he is taking the wishes. This is might not be final in my final version of Maggy, hell, I might change that particular design to be Amaya's form when she takes the wishes too, since hers is more smoke which is more or not on par with her character in my rewrite/redesign. It might end up being more of Maggy's thing with Amaya helping him get into this state of transformation to take the wishes since I'd imagine it more of a whole process, but it could also just be something they both do together.

Some more design details I added was his scars from when his kingdom was attacked and almost everyone died because he showed mercy to the attackers. He doesn't really have them in his main design, probably because he covers them up with Amaya's potions or the wishes could have some form healing abilities? Idk I'm still firguring out the magic system of my story or that I just keep forgetting to put those scars in his design so awesome???💀

In my post here, I said that they don't hold ceremonies that has them granting/taking the wishes like they did in the movie. This is mainly because I wanted to do a little something original and gives me the oppertunity to take in the horror aspects of the story (because I love scaring children(not in a bad way, but to show them that there are these kinds of people in the world yk?)). This is why I am intentionally making Maggy and Amaya horrifying in their own way because well...good people can become the bad guys if pushed in the right direction. Especially in what they do to other people. Mainly inspired from Hunchback and Prince of Egypt, with subtle, but TERRIFYING pieces.

BUT, They do have a ceremony, but it is not related to the wishes, it is just there to give them some sympathetic traits to Maggy and Amaya (after all they've been through, I just feel bad, they literally wanted to good things and the world just beat them with a 90 foot pole).

This one I tried making Maggy more jagged. Although it seems like he is a different character here, thats mainly my fault since I really tried to figure out what he would say to Star Boy in this "idea" scene but my brain blanked out and couldn't think of anything so wahoo

Star Boy in this scene doesn't even know he has a desire, he just didn't think stars can form desires (ofc Maggy and Amaya is going to manipulate the hell out of him and Asha :3)

ALSO

This is also the main reason I split Star Boy's powers between what Amaya and Maggy does.

Maggy has only 1 shape-shifting form, and it is only done to steal the wishes. He can't shape shift into anything else, but it is why when he steals star's powers, he becomes more of a terrifying shapeshifter.

Amaya creates dangerous potions, and more or not lurks in the darkness in some way like a cat to bring them to their doom. Although it would make more sense if Maggy has the creation part of Star's powers, I gave it to Amaya since it works for her too, and keeps the power system balanced in some way. If I do give Amaya the ability to also shapeshift into a monster from my dreams, I could also say the same thing can work in reverse too, I just personally think the creation part of her character conflicts with Asha's ability to create/draw magic.

Power wise for this design...

This form also gives Maggy the ability to see people's desires that HE could take. He can't really take them until they are 17-18 years old and older (ruh oh, 2 of our main protagonists fall under that age gap). Plus, he cant take them from children since they are young and dont understand these kinds of things.

This form also falls under the MAIN conflict of why the hell is everyone miserable when they turn around 17/18 years old? Oh yeahhh this is going to fall under how he steals the wishes, but I'm not going to say anything here yet because I really want it to be a surprise.

Nothing that he does is not without reason. He blames the stars for not granting his wish (there is a reason why they didn't), and for not stepping in when a star, or Aster (NOT STAR BOY) went "rouge" (not Aster's fault btw, they didn't have a choice). So, this presented him with this ideology (that I personally believe Amaya first started thinking this way, out of pain and wanting to blame someone for what happened a century ago) that in order for people to not wish on stars, is for them to never wish/dream again. The story in my version is the aftermath of this. Still figuring out THE MAJIOR STORY BEATS, but this falls under Star Boy as well.

Star Boy represents the thing Magnifico hates the most. Plus, Maggy has more of a personal beef with the stars so of course he is going to make sure Star Boy dies, becauseeee he didn't do it last time, so second times the charm, am I right? (OR MAYBE THE THIRD WHO KNOWS, LETTING THE STORY WORK ITSELF OUT ;3)

ORIGINALLY, this was going to be Amaya's thing, but as I said, this might end up being mainly Maggy's thing, or it is something they both do, since they share the same goal, but here is the designs I was going to show for that:

i have a question right now thats boggling me, and i think it might be because im in a negative headspace and my intrusive thoughts wont stop bothering me unless i have a legit answer to counter it. 😭 Pardon about how negative this might get. :(

(Context) Lets assume person A wants to be beautiful right? They practice LOA and they ARE the most beautiful person right now, but what if because of them being beautiful, they will get unwanted attention, people stare them, they get followed/stalked, other bad things etc etc.

Wont those be bad effects of being beautiful? :( As i said, my mind is really warped and im a bad headspace, so i keep thinking there might be bad effects afterwards and that its "persons A "fault for having that happen because they caused it by being too beautiful. Its their fault for attracting that. My question is, How do you control that bad situation to not happen? Is it person's A fault about it to begin with, when they wanted to be beautiful? What do you do so that doesnt happen, and how do you prevent it? Did manifestation cause it? How can you manifest or do LOA safely? How can you attract only good things?

Im just really paranoid and reading a post about how someone manifested being beautiful caused my mind to go overdrive on the bad things that happen because your manifestation is THAT good. Being so beautiful is going to make smth else bad.

This goes for other good things/manifestations, like having something SO good is going to cause the bad effect afterwards/attract it. Sorry for rambling its just having these thoughts is very draining, and i thought i might receive reassurement or answers.

Well for starters beauty is not an invitation for violence no matter how beautiful. It is no one's fault they receive harassment or mistreatment for any reason.

It's not a side effect of beauty. Harassment is the result of entitlement and nothing else. True creeps don't only target the insanely beautiful, they target whoever they want to target. For instance a weirdo might only go after blonde women but it is not the women's fault for dyeing their hair.

Beauty is not an invitation.

Also you can manifest safety and you can manifest that your beauty doesn't draw unwanted attention.

Wanting to be beautiful is not wrong. Nobody is attracting harassment creeps are creeps of their own volition. Manifesting clear skin or beautiful hair will not transform a normal peer into a total weirdo.

Manifestations happen how you assume they will happen, decide that it won't affect you negatively and it won't. If you're afraid of a side effect manifest it away too. Manifestation has no limitations, anything can be changed.

ATPOAIM Ep 4- Still...at their very best

As promised, here comes my break-down/ interpretation of yesterday's episode. I'm not really sure if I'm on to anything here. Just thoughts. a discussion starter perhaps. also, I do talk about the criticisms or problems that I have with this episode towards the end.

The opening scene does a lot to set the tone of this episode and let us know, from the start, that it is in stark contrast to episodes 1, 2, and 3.

For one thing, it's in color as opposed to black and white. The style of filming is difference. we see the wide open space surrounding Matty on his mattress, instead of the camera moving along with him, or, focusing on him.

He doesn't acknowledge the camera in the way that he does in previous episodes. In fact, he spends the first 59 seconds of a, roughly, 8 minute video just getting out of bed and getting dressed. Might not seem like a lot of time, but in a short video like this, every second counts. So, the decision to focus so much on this opening moment is deliberate.

The MUSIC, lest we skip over that, is also a big deal. It does have an eerie-ness to it that suggests we should feel unsettled by what we're seeing, maybe?

Of course, the first things that happen in the mid of the audience are: wtf? why is he sleeping on the floor? why does he sleep like that? where/what is this?

Curiously, the first thing that he reaches for is the oxygen mask? I wonder if it's sort of the opposite of reaching for cigarettes (or maybe im projecting as someone who has recently quit smoking, lmao). In any case, it's not normal. That is, it's not the sort of thing one usually does when waking up in the morning. Is it to highlight the artificiality of the set up? Is it the David Lynch thing? I know he had an oxygen tank for ATVB, but I can't remember how consistently he used it. Wasn't at every show, was it? idk. Or maybe it is simply to remind us of the strangeness of the seemingly mundane things that we are about to watch him do?

His clothes are laid out for him on the cart, which, again, makes the perfectly normal act of getting dressed in the morning very strange. Perhaps also eliminates the choice. He doesn't need to make a decision about what to choose, cuz there are no options. Kind of like a uniform.

First thing he does when he's dressed and has made his "bed" is go up to the wall. I'm interested in these.

Because, he is fixated on it, and because that's what we see later on.

The music and the tone of the moment changes when he moves on to making coffee (fuck, now im really craving a good cup of coffee).

The coffee-making scene is utilizing lab apparatus. Though, I will say, drip coffee does usually use a grinder, a scale, filter paper, etc. So, I suppose that process is, in itself, adjacent to working in a lab. It also requires exactitude, slow motion, a lot of waiting around for the coffee to finish brewing and dripping, etc. (side note: the coffee he makes is nowhere near as strong as he should be. What kinda color is that, Matty?!) So, is he dramatizing the process? exaggerating skills required for the task? or i he SO committed to his grass thing that he's taken to sleeping in his lab and this is legit just an obsessed scientist making coffee in his lab thats also his home.

Some of you have pointed out that the door he exits from and the door he enters through are two different doors to the same building. If that's the case, is he suggesting some sort of cyclical nature to this everyday routine (in contrast to the day in the life thing that we saw in episode 1? Two sides, one coin?

Now, he's in an entire different lab space! Here's everything we can see when he first enters.

The greenery certainly stands out in the otherwise monochromatic setting, and we shortly see him make very exact moves to snip a "sample" of the plant, and then mist it. But not before he puts on his "Matty" coat and tosses away the "Truman Black" coat in the biohazard bin (more on that in a bit).

He moves on from his potted plant to his ??? patch of grass perhaps? which, remember, we saw a picture of in the first minute of the video. on his wall of sketches and images. One of the images was showing the layers underneath the grass. Meaning that what we see at the top in only the surface?

Briefly, we see a crack in his "character." In contrast to making deliberate and precise moves, he's suddenly stirring chaos. Trying to ride the cart, fucking with the drill, and watching stuff on his phone. You can toss the Truman Black lab coat into the biohazard bin but you can't take the Truman Black out of the Matty?? after all, the Matty dude is just a coat that he put on. He can take it back off at any moment. Is he saying that every version of himself is, ultimately, a performance of selfhood? even if he were to be "Matty"? is he saying you can't totally separate the two?

He writes "la poesie eat dans la rue" in his notebook. "The Poetry Is In The Street" BUT WHY? Nothing he's doing has anything to do with streets or poetry. Hint for the future, but what?

Next, he gets pretty tactile. "touching grass" as we joked yesterday, but maybe also testing it a bit? We get a visual trick that makes him go from hovering over the small patch of grass to laying in a much bigger one. Followed very quickly by him posing for the SATVB Tour poster.

which is the very first time that we feel there's someone maybe with him? who's taking the picture for the poster? is it pre-set? but we didn't see any signs of it in the room prior to the shot. Has more stuff happened in between, that is conveniently left out? has more time passed by? is that why the grass is larger?

He ends the video by shutting things down and pulling the lever, just like he used to do at the end of ATVB shows.

I'm not entirely sure what the "studying plant in lab" is alluding to or suggesting other than bringing the natural into an unnatural space? experimentation? exercise of control over natural being? construct building? I think that's the key to putting together the subject matter of the following tour.

NOW FOR HANG UPS I HAVE these might not be legit criticisms. It may be that once we get more info/ see more episodes, these things will become clear, but for now,

I'm not sure that this needed to be an episode of atpoaim. Like, couldn't the tour announcement have been its own thing? the series seems to have had a very specific goal that it was trying to achieve in a very specific way, and this was different. Didn't Matty say atpoaim was meant to get to color gradually as the series also got more theatrical and dramatic? kind of as a parallel to the 1975? this wasn't gradual. this went into color right away!

We also know that Matty filmed this in NJ a few weeks ago. MUCH after filming other stuff for future atpoaim episodes. Does this mean he's scrapped all previous footage and changed the whole plan? is this a brief interruption and we get back to normal next month with episode 5? is episode 5 gonna be totally new and different from an original episode 5 that maybe he'd planned before? This is why I say, if the tour announcement isn't intrinsic to where atpoaim is going, then it should've just been its own thing.

Do you enjoy recasts over real dolls?

(Not meant to be a rude question, I’m just curious because I am thinking about buying a BJD)

I dont have issue with recasts as long as you know what you're getting their knockoffs, but they seem pretty on par with legits (I've only ever handled one legit thats been casted so im not super well versed in there difference) i think recasts can be a solid starter under the understanding tho that getting into the hobby space as a whole will be harder (tho recast firendly spaces definatly exist <3)

As far as recasts compaired to say my 3d printed legits....I prefer the 3d printed dolls for quite a few reasons.

1. If you plan on having several dolls, 5 or more 3d printed is cheaper. (350$ for the printer is about what a legit will run you)

2. More customizability

3. It is easier to repair them

4. Less hassle with sharing images of them as they are considered legit by most of the hobby (there are a few outliers like DOA)

That being said. If you do go down the path of recasts just understand there stigmatized greatly in the hobby so be careful when sharing them, but I will say you get a good bang for your buck and its a good way to see if you like bjds before investing in more expensive dolls.

oposites attract: for starters, winifred is a hell of a lot older than me ajhsjd. iirc shes about 300 years older??? so shes basically an antique /aff. she talks a lot in elizabethan english, so its a lil hard for me to understand what shes talking about sometimes, but ive gotten a lil better at understanding her. shes really bossy and grumpy, but its mostly cuz of her having to be the mom to her two lil sisters on top of dealing with people bullying her

shes pretty vain, but im under the assumption that shes like that to attempt to hide how insecure she actually is about her apperance. of course, shes incredibly gifted with all sorts of magic, especially spellwork and electrokinesis (y'know how she can use lightning to attack and stuff?? thats what that is shdbdb)

crossover: i think at first, winnie wouldnt get along with val at all. theyre polar opposites and winnie would most likely be the one to try to fight val. val on the other hand, doesnt quite get along at first considering how winifred and her sisters are with eating children. they'd both be fascinated by what the other's capable of doing, with winnie and her magic and val with her science and tech

eventually, i think the two would be on good terms. not friends but they def dont hate each other either. it'd take a long while tho

with nora, idk why but i feel like winnie would be legit scared of nora. she'd try her damndest not yo show it of course, but theres something about nora she cant help but be scared by. to be fair, nora's a dullahan, and theyre essentially a sort of harbringer of death, and considering how often (three times so far) winifred and her sisters have died, im sure coming face to face with something like nora would keep her on edge.

nora, on the other hand, is legit really curious about winifred. she doesnt have a whole lot of experience interacting with other humans outside of a really small handful of them, let alone an actual witch. while she is aware of winnie and her sisters tending to eat children, nora's fairly certain she wouldnt try to eat her students, mostly cuz shes to scared of her to even attempt to go after her students (and is also scared of her students in general sndnd)

Revivals were a common concept to Satoru, travel 1-5 minutes back in time to prevent something from happening. Though, there were some cases in which he questioned it's validity as an occurrence. Sometimes nothing had happened, at least not that he could see. And yet, this time after an event that tore up whatever semblance of stability he had as an adult, he was thrust through another Revival. This one being... peculiar, the very first thing he noticed was the unfamiliar scenery of Galar, second- how small he was.

He looked down and flipped his hands over a couple times, observing them almost obsessively for a brief couple of seconds before looking back around again. The fact he was a child sinking in and he didn't wish for it to be a reality of course and the situation didn't change, even when he pinched himself to test it. Even looking around, it hit him it was unfamiliar but the European buildings really drove it home. Whatever or wherever he was, it wasn't exactly close to Tokyo or Hokkaido where he had grown up with his mother.

Standing stiff like a board wouldn't help much, Satoru knew that, so slowly he took steps along the strangely patterned... cobblestone? Was it even cobblestone if it was shaped like scales? The city seemed to be built surrounding a large castle like structure, one that in his opinion looked entirely fictional. But people had to of gotten their inspiration from somewhere, perhaps this place was it? It wasn't much of a city in his opinion, just a couple stores and a house or two surrounding a castle, which made them pale in comparison. Population here didn't seem too high either, the streets were scarcely populated with people and those who were out and about seemed to be engaged in something. Aside from that, the giant red store with a ball for it's logo stood out quite well against the grey and black stone.

Going towards the giant castle felt... intrusive to say the least, the intimidating gates spikes and the bridge at the entry just lending to this fact. The steps he took while wandering around were without purpose, just to gather a sense of where in the world he was and possibly how to get back home- to normal. Especially because of those... weird animal mascots that were moving around the city, Pokemon. Mentally wracking his brain for a solution to the present problem and none coming up. Finally, he wished to get some help from someone else, perhaps asking for a location or a way back home would solve a portion of his problems.

Satoru jogged up to the other, mentally wincing at the feeling of the cobble on his feet, it wasn't a pleasant feeling even with shoes on. He waved at Leon, hesitantly calling out. "Excuse me! I'm sorry..." There was a pause to catch his breath, skidding to a halt at the sight of the self proclaimed 'mascot' behind him. The large orange dragon with a... flame on it's tail? Wait it was on fire! "Your uh...!! Your mascot... it's on fire." He pointed, briefly forgetting about what he was originally going to ask, to point out Charizard's tail.

five days until the new gecko cages yall. so excited and nervous- facebook deals can so easily get squirrely or fall through, yanno? but this is literally my dream fucking set up- and the idea that I might own it in under a week is very exciting.

with summer beating it's final pulses ( heat just bearable enough to draw people from the pools ) carnivals and fairs alike have been thriving. spreading through cities like an infection, and sticking around like one too. it's a sight some never bother seeing more than once, though matthew finds himself familiar with them to an unsettling degree. adorned in a fashionable 70s outfit and jerked to some game stand is how he spends his lingering summer days ; arms crossed and his back straightened as he admires the people drifting by with eyes quickly darting to the cluttered grounds. working as a carny ( what a delightful term ) wasn't within his original plans, but it pays decent enough to scrape by. at least the white and red striped booth provides 'okay' shade from the trembling sun above. shadowed enough by the dark with large stuffed animals to extend excellent cover if someone he admires comes waltzing through. hiding was heavily scolded by the boss of this stand, wilmer, but his fear of having his arm twisted red was easily outweighed by being seen like this. it's not like the outfit looked strange on him. peculiar at best. but what mat hid from was caused by his shame of working a shifty, unfair, totally rigged stand. winning games like these was made with stacked odds on purpose. behind him is some milk jugs ---- the secret lying with them only known by him. the bottom two are heavier then the top, since most people aim higher than lower anyway. if mat played a hand in analyzing passerbys, he tries not to own up to it.

idly, he fiddles with a softball resting on the stand. long fingers curling around the circular object to propel it along the worn wood ; before following it and repeating. wilmer's given up on making him attempt to draw in costumers, simply drilling it into the man's head he only needs to 'stand there and look pretty'. a statement that still causes his cheeks to flare up, already splotchy from the sun. he isn't sure how pretty he is in a white collared shirt ( sleeves rolled up to show slim arms ) with his fawn hair tousled to hell and back but ... whatever. when he ends up spotting his blond haired partner returning from his flirt session, matthew is cashing in on a bathroom break. finally fed up with fidgeting, the man lets himself hang out the tent and people watch. chocolate eyes obscured by yellow aviators, something he takes full advantage of. he watches people bicker, laugh, spill their drinks and litter : gross. there's a brief moment where he lets his brain freeze over completely. taking a rare opportunity to immerse in the moment so he can disconnect from the uncomfortable sweat making his shirt stick to his scorched back.

of course, this backfires miserably. wrapped up in the ( reluctantly ) beautiful sights around him, someone wiggles right past the carny. giving him zero time to try and duck away, or throw on his most charming grin : voice amping up to put on his best performance. any sultry or friendly tones dry in the back of his throat and leave his adam's apple bobbing when he catches the form standing so close to the booth. eyebrows shoot up immediately. body tensing and god, he looks so awful! matthew starts frantically running his hands through his dampening hair with a cough, trying to clear his throat even if it proves fruitless. at least any coloring can be blamed on the sun, or any stomach knots can be written away with bad carnival food. the only ball matthew has left in his court is appearing pitiful ; shamefully hoping that buys him something. an olive branch ---- anything. clumsily does the man finally grab the once discarded ball. clutched tightly in his grip so he stops visibly fussing. was he recognizable in this funky getup? mat hopes not.

“hi, hello!” the greeting comes out awkward ; he grimaces. “someone's dying to test their luck, hm?”

when he gestures to the entire game behind him, it's lackluster. timid. clearly he's unsettled by the sudden spring of company. be it stranger or familiar ; he acts oblivious nonetheless.

          “Oi, I wouldn’t try anything to that fence or the gate.  It’s dangerous.” Was the first two sentences that came out of her mouth.  The dragon, hidden behind her usual vessel that she used to be on the surface world.  Was at least going to warn the human that seemed to be...fiddling?  She wouldn’t really know.     But it seemed as if he was doing something in front of the gate and fence area of her master’s vacation home.
