Marcato. Accented, articulate, emphatic, assertive, insistent. Joker punctuates his words, his phrases, his actions in a certain manner that is unsettling, displacing. Joker manages to be clear while being nonsensical. He hears him, almost like static, and even if he doesn’t know why Joker does the things he does, he knows that Joker is almost always sure of himself. Ever action is punctuated, articulated, and Bruce hears him, even if he doesn’t know what he’s trying to say. In all honesty, Joker himself probably doesn’t quite know what he’s trying to say.

“Terrified is not the word I would use,” Bruce responded shortly, lowly, eyes still narrowed behind his cowl.
