And now, for the curious, since I went and mentioned it: Nina, as a full-on (and understandably freaked out) werewolf.

For #WerewolfWednesday -- the remainder of the WtA art in which Nina's AU counterpart features (as does Sandra's, for an argument about, IDK, who's getting groceries).

Every time I think I've found all of these, I manage to find another one. Glass Walkers cockroach joke goes here.
Anyway, another round of Nina, werewolfed, and luxuriously fluffy.

You have no idea what she's saying, but you're still pretty sure she's telling you to go fuck yourself.
Another 'when I played Nina as a werewolf in a WtA game' throwback that I still like. Drew it during last year's October challenge.
Once again, tho, to dispel any (COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE) confusion: this is AU. In her canon setting, she is distinctly Not a Werewolf.

You don't belong here anymore.
Another one from the 'when Nina was my W:tA character' vault, of her watching her spouse sleep and having a 'you can never go home again' kind of moment.

I know I said the W:tA AU stuff was emptied out but I'm still finding snippets laying around.
This time, it's Nina and Sandra in a WIP I like to call, 'Everyone Hates Moots.'

Part of the reason 'Nina gets a fuzzy makeover' exists is due to her being (briefly) played as a full-on werewolf in a Werewolf: the Apocalypse game. Which was fun for a while, gave me some insights into her character that I hadn't fully expected, but the more I write her in her canon setting, the less inclined I am to take wild swings with her concept.
That being said, I ended up really liking the aesthetic look of her near-human form so much that I wanted to figure out a way to make it more canon compliant. And thus: her weirdo shenanigans took flight.

I think I've only got one more from the vault after this. :D
From the word 'jump,' Nina was (in AU game) written to be a Ragabash's Ragabash. Someone who had not been indoctrinated at a young age to be some brainwashed child soldier, who could see the Garou's chestbeating, hypermasculine turbodominance for what it was.
It didn't make her time in their ranks especially easy, and, with my departure from play, I like to imagine she kept a rather vast distance between herself and "the Nation," preferring to spend time with and keep watch over the things that mattered to her. Carrying out the edicts of zealots and hypocrites was never really her bag, anyway.
ps: I have added all my personal W:tA stuff to its own tag.

You know what's great for newcomers? Posting off-brand shit twice in a row.
So today's welcome mat is Nina as a Tabaxi, because someone prodded me to think about making her D&D compatible and the idea would not leave me alone.

do nina's kids matter at all in the werewolf au? do they even exist in it?
They did, actually! And they happen to be one of the reasons I stopped having any kind of fun on the game I was playing her on.
Cut for Slightly Longer Answer Than Usual--
The backstory I used for her was identical to her canon backstory, so Leo and her kids all existed, and were a point of constant concern. To the extent that she was sending a lot of $$ back to a sept in her home state as a kind of bribe to get the locals to keep watch.
The twist came in when I was asked to roll to determine if they were human, kin, or Garou, and one came out basic-ass human while the other was full-blown Garou, albeit one that hadn't had her first change just yet (at age 21). Would've been interested to see where that could've gone - I was actively looking for someone that might be able to play the Garou daughter - but the ST was a) overall a giant asshole, b) hated when character beats started deviating from whatever she had in mind for how she specifically thought they should be behaving/carrying on.
This is important, because Nina changed at age 45, roughly around the age she is in canon when she meets Sandra. As noted, she was pretty hostile to Garou nonsense and especially towards the overall culture - especially among Glass Walkers - so when she did hear the news about her daughter, she was devastated. She wanted to go home and at least be nearby as she tried to figure out what to do which, for story reasons, wasn't feasible.
I expected ICly for people to think she was nuts - a werewolf in the family is cause for serious celebration - and that's what happened, but that didn't change her gut feel about the whole thing, sooo...
Anyway I was told this was the wrong response, in so many words, I'm sure because it was an inconvenience to the ST. It wasn't *presented* that way; it was presented like it was actually insane/silly for me to write her like that because Nina - only 6 mo's into knowing werewolves are real - should be 'better integrated' into Garou society by then. Or, in other words, because see above, re: asshole.
As an aside, it would've been fair for the ST to be annoyed with me if I'd insisted on doing the roll, or came in saying I wanted one of the daughters to be a werewolf, therefor giving the ST more work. In this case, she specifically asked me to do the rolls, even after I'd pretty explicitly stated I would've been fine with Nina's kids being normal human or kin or a mix, and said as much.
Anyway, it was a mess. I had a lot of fun moments w/ it but now that I'm on the other side looking back, a lot of it is just 🙃

How the Get of Fenris say ‘hello.’
(for the curious: in their WtA incarnations, Nina's w/ the Glass Walkers, Monica's w/ the Furies)
