Aaa as someone with very little understanding this is probably a vague question, but how does Michigan and its Glorious Scary Lakes fair with climate change? I live in California and it’s just dry and so so so hot and on fire a lot, which is making picturing zora’s domain tricky!

Same as pretty much everywhere, Michigan is seeing effects of climate change, but it's not the same effects you're probably seeing out west! The Great Lakes do insulate us a bit, though.

Even within my own lifetime, we're seeing less cold winters with freezes happening later. Anecdotally, warm temperature spikes mean that snow thaws during the winter and doesn't really accumulate in the same way. Increased temps means we get heavier rains, which can in turn result in flooding--much of lower michigan is very flat so we don't really get mudslides so much but flooding is still very not good. Ice coverage on the Great Lakes has decreased in the winters, which means a longer traversable shipping season but also negative ecological impacts--and also thin ice on the Great Lakes means you can't do things like drive to islands over the naturally-forming ice bridges, which is not crucial but is fun.

We do get tornadoes, which have increased with severity and frequency. Overall, though, we're still not at risk from hurricanes; we're usually too wet for widespread wildfires. The thermal battery of the Great Lakes does insulate us a little from temperature swings and droughts. We get blizzards but we're prepared for blizzards, so while it can be dangerous, it's generally a hunker-down-at-home problem, not a evacuate-at-risk-of-your-life problem.

Lover's Mittens, two pairs of colorwork done in the traditional rose/snowflake pattern seen in Selbuvotter, a type of stranded mitten patterns from Selbu, Norway.

I made two pairs of mittens, one for my friend and one for her fiance, plus a mitten my friends affectionately call the "Smitten", where you can hold hands! Note on the pattern: when making the Smitten, the join between the cuffs leaves a giant hole. I chose to use a sew-on label to cover that, it says Love in Every Stitch.

There are a little under 18,000 stitches in this pattern, one for every day of fifty years of happiness.

Hear me out, Pony catching pneumonia agin, post book. It’s not as bad, far better then it was and isn’t life or death this time around but, still it sends chills up Darry’s spine. He was anxious the first time, but even more now.

ohh wait that’s pretty good—i kinda used to say that him dodging death when he had pneumonia is why he believes death follows him around—it lost its grip on him but it follows him and grips everyone he loves, and he genuinely believes he’s gonna die this time baches nobody can cheat death twice—he survives, because it’s not as bad as he initially thought, but he’s scared that after death took everyone else he loved, it’s gonna take darry and soda in exchange for his life being saved

I’m obsessed with Clearwater’s design is there any information about them? What’s their favorite thing to do who’s their best friend do they have cool dreams

She was born in Brookclan and was previously in a relationship with Aspenstar before her leadership. The two had a massive falling out which left Clearwater in a bad way and caused her to pretty much cut ties with Brookclan and her family there, including her brother Sootfrost. She and Aspenstar will speak out of necessity due to their high ranking positions but Clearwater tends to avoid her as much as possible.

In her youth she was ambitious and a lot more outgoing, though she’s always taken herself and her responsibilities seriously and is protective of those she cares about. She became a lot more withdrawn after leaving Brookclan, a bit tired and melancholic. She feels really at home in Iceclan though, she’s particularly close to Fogstar, who’s always been an advocate for her and extended kindness when Clearwater needed it.

If you mean dreams as in aspirations she’s pretty fulfilled in that department and doesn’t really long for anything ‘more’ like she used to. She has some regrets but she doesn’t let them weigh heavy like Aspenstar does. If you mean sleeping dreams she probably occasionally dreams about memories that make her feel kind of strange and wistful and sad, but most nights she sleeps deeply and dreamlessly.

Funny thing about the 🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁 is they go out to visit the glaciers and they always come back covered in a layer of glittery glacial silt. Like any other glitter it gets in in every nook and cranny. Then after crawling around in the 🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁 and all over the hangar floor, now everything I own in AK is covered in glacial glitter the 🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁 brought me.

alaska,,,,if the show you're about to go to soon is your first time seeing the outsiders i just need to say,,,,,,it is going to be a MILLION times more amazing than you could ever imagine oml i thought i had an idea of what it was going to be like but it was like. a spiritual experience i could have never expected. i have NEVER seen anything that cool or phenomenal in front of my own eyes i swear you are going to have an amazing time

funny story! this is my second time seeing it haha-back then i wasn’t really hyperfixated on the content so i like…barely remember anything because i was actually sick when i went to go see it—so it’s basically my first time, yeah 😭 when i went i remember we had dan berry as soda and i believe wonza as dally? i don’t remember much of their performances but yeah!! im genuinely SO stoked to go (2 more days??? 48 hours from now??? huhhh???) and I CANNOT wait-especially since i might be sitting next to BG himself like i feel like that’s just unreal. i’m soooo incredibly stoked and i’m SO glad that you went!!
