Because tumblr's search function kind of sucks! Even if I don't tag a post as such, it might still show up in the tags just from the mention in the post. I don't like to invade SFW spaces, so it's to cover my bases.

Maybe, maybe not! I'm into a lot of stuff. While there's no harm in asking, you'll probably have more luck if it's something I've talked about already. I don't mind stuff that goes into dead dove territory, you just won't find a lot of it here out of personal preference. I will not make any underage content. No exceptions.

Eh still in a rambling mood I guess.

I've talked to just about anyone that will listen about my frustrations regarding how the gas station is being run (I keep talking about problems when I can't fix them) and literally anyone with retail or retail management experience has been just as confused as I am.

Scott, who has managed at Waffle House, said that not ordering bread correctly was always a sign to him that the manager he was filling in for was bad at their job.

I think the best thing I can do is not try too hard, really. I won't be able to work to my own standards because that's not possible due to the way the store is being managed.

I don't feel like I'd be able to convince her to do things differently (though I did catch her watching me wrap sandwiches as though they were cheese and later reheated one for a customer that I know wasn't wrapped by me because it was very loose, but was wrapped in a similar way), or at least not so soon after being hired.

I do think she's also been annoyed by me finding so much expired product everywhere and that's brought to her attention both how much stuff isn't selling, how badly she's misordered bread, and how infrequently expiration dates are being checked. The things that are being ordered properly are things being ordered by the vendors.

By properly, of course, I mean ordering as much as is needed and only as much as is needed instead of having 30 bags of small dinner rolls 20 of which went bad before they could be used and then running out because no more were ordered, and only ordering enough burger buns to last two days.

I don't know if anyone was told not to use the bread I'd set aside because it was expired and I didn't think to leave a note on the bins. I don't have phone numbers for anyone that works there other than Manager and she's not there, and I know calling won't matter since no one answers the phone.

Will find out tomorrow. If they were put back on the shelf, I'll just have to pull them again and leave a note this time.

Will also find out if the cooler is still covered in rotten milk and if that Monster spill got moldy.

I did find my old name tag retractable lanyard from Walmart, which still works because stuff made a mere 20 years ago was drastically better made than stuff like that now, and I know every generation says that which really says something about how shitty things are being made now, and put the store key on it.

It's a little sticky, though, and the deco sticker is yellowed, so the plastic it's made of is certainly degrading.

why is so much stuff in the Jessica Cruz tag rwby?

There is a longish answer to your question. The tl;dr is that the RWBY fandom generates content like Stephen King on coke and Jessica Cruz was a main character in a DC/RWBY crossover.

I can and will ramble in-depth about it though.

I'll preface this by saying that I have and will never watch even a second of RWBY. Aside from the fact that I think it looks plain bad, the most annoying person I know kept trying to force it into every conversation so I wont watch it out of principle. So what I know is from lurking too much on the internet.

The sad fact is that Jessica hasn't appeared much in comics lately. After Green Lanterns and JLO ended she kind of disappeared from the radar and, as most Lanterns not named Hal or John do, only really showed up for crowdshots and the occasional cameo. They teased a story in which she would go undercover in the Sinestro Corps, but they dropped that story completely. She has a bit part in the current Green Lantern run (Going undercover ironically) and starred in a GL back-up explaining how, where and why she is undercover. Sure, she was the main character in a DCAU movie, but it wasn't a controversial one so nobody cares about it. Also that was like 5 years ago what the fuck? And she's a main character in SHG, but personality wise she isn't even close to canon!Jess so I'm not really counting that.

Now for RWBY. They had a cross-over deal with DC comics. (Not rare at all since DC like to do that stuff. Godzilla and Star Trek to name two) If I remember it correctly it was like 2 movies and a few comic miniseries. I havent read/watched them because... Well it's RWBY. I'd rather read literally anything else.

Now Jessica was a main character in one of the RWBY/Justice League crossover movies. The reason I personally believe her to be the chosen Green Lantern for that movie is the same reason I like her. A character whose powers stem from her willpower who also suffers from anxiety is an inherently interesting concept. Said concept has market appeal because it's an interesting take on the superhero ideal. (The other reason that they picked her is because you can turn her into a cute animegirl because RWBY is like anime but worse.) Her design was very much animified and she looks like a 12 year old but I digress.

Here's the rub; RWBY's fandom is like insanely active. Art, fanfic you name it. It's made up by a few groups as most fandoms are, but we're going to focus on one particular group; Shippers.

They are the ones making like 90% the RWBY content. They create a fuckload of fanfiction and art. They go to war with each other, etc. Now what is important to note is that, according to my browsing habits, 50% of those shippers tend to ship a guy named Jaune Arc with every female that has existed ever. I'm talking harem/smut/ship/AU fics up the wazoo. Anyone he has ever shared a scene with (or hasn't lol) has ended up sleeping with him in a position or two according to Ao3.

If I got it right, Jaune and Jessica had a budding friendship in that movie. But since Jaune 'self-insert' Arc gets shipped with about anyone who has a cup-size, this has snowballed into there being a myriad of Jaune x Jessica content.

So as a result of DC not utilizing Jessica combined with the RWBY fandom being an unstoppable content machine her tags are now cluttered with RWBY.

Hey, the person that both recommended in asks and submitted Yuurivoice characters, i just saw a tiktok that kinda upset me and it made me kinda paranoid about the possible consequences of my actions so i just wanted to say:

If any of you following this blog ever want to get into the yuurivoice stuff, specifically bittersweet, please, i'm begging you, be respectful of the fact that he has his reasons to probably never make it 100% explicitly canon in the main storyline, don't be a dick/annoying about it and maybe also don't ask about it's canonicity in stream chat, it's been asked and he has answered many times before just watch the old youtube streams.

(And for the love of god, don't be all passive aggressive about him apperantly "profiting" of the idea of the poly by making an non-canon 18+ audio of the three of them for his patreon [which the patreon and by extension the exlusive content on there is basically his main income afaik and he's only made one or two of the poly out of all the monthly content that makes him money] but still "refusing" to make them canon, like that tiktok person did.

Making it sound all like intentionally manipulative, i guess? Like some sort of eqivalent to like a big studio queerbaiting or something?! What the fuck is wrong with some people?! Especially on that godforsaken app?!)

I usually stay away from both most fandoms (especially asmr/audio roleplay type youtuber fandoms) and tiktok (and especially said fandoms on tiktok) but curiosity got the better of me and i checked the yuurivoice tiktok tag and since i don't have a tiktok account i counldn't check the comments on that video to see how other people responded and i've seen some other people complaining about it not being fully canon on tiktok as well but again since i don't usually interact with the fandom it's hard for me to tell if the bad attitude about the ambiguity is a majority or minority kind of thing in the fandom as a whole.

And while i generally trust that most people following you're lovely blog are gonna be respectful, i couldn't help but be anxious about possibly adding even one other person being so negative about this to the fandom through my recommendation.

And like if you read my rambling on my submission, i personally can't relate to how some people seem so hung up on this needing to be so black and white anyway.

It is canon (and explicitly so) that these three people love each other (in whatever way), are family, are gonna stay together and wanna go home together. If i remember correctly he has said before that it seems like some people like to ignore the found family aspect of the story and how being loved unconditionally now is a huge thing for the one of the three that isn't officially dating the other two (the other two being a couple since the start of the story) because of his backstory.

Idk, since he has metioned that this is essentially a piece of emotionally personal vent art in a way, it just seems kinda disrespectful to me how some people go about this, yk?

And personally i find his reasoning in regards to it needing to be an inherently kinda ambigious situation because of the self-insert aspect understandable.

At one point to being asked about if they're canon he said something along the lines of:

"The best answer to that question is actually "You tell me. Are they? ""

While I might sound biased because this is my fancomic, Pages 9-13 is one of my favourite parts in Bringer of Darkness. I do wanna talk about it, especially about this page in particular. However, I don’t want tell you how to feel about it or what thoughts you should have about it. Therefore, I’ll stuff this under a break and give you the option to read it instead.

One warning: it’s longer than I expected it to. I recap these pages and go into depth on them. I’m posting it now because I did not spend EIGHT HOURS ON THIS, only for my brain to go “it would’ve made sense to post this on the blog for BoD,” SO IT GOES HERE NOW WHETHER I LIKE IT OR NOT. Hope you enjoy my rambles if you choose to read them.

I understand talking about this page may be counterproductive, since it’s supposed to focus on actions instead of words. But when paired with Pages 9, 10, 11 and 13, I think it shows a lot about BoD’s take on both Sonic.EXE and Amy Rose.

Page 9 depicts Amy’s focus on what Exnic might be, and Exnic’s annoyance over how “You’re not a hedgehog, are you?” is seemingly her only take away. Amy knows Exnic isn’t a hedgehog, nor is he even Sonic, yet Exnic doesn’t answer her and is annoyed that her focus isn’t on his actions or what he’s chosen to call himself.

Amy also lists a few things to call Exnic in her head, but then settles on “something else.” Since she doesn’t know what he is or what he’s capable of, she doesn’t want to insult him and potentially anger him; she’s certainly not new to fighting against foes or enemies, yet this guy casually just spat up blood and bled from his eyes?

Page 10 depicts Exnic’s acceptance to being called “something else” and proceeds to tell her that he’s otherworldly prisoner capable of doing extraordinary things, though not without a few minor bugs (demonstrated by shifting part of his arm into Amy’s). He then tells her that’s why she’s here, only for her to interrupt and walk off.

This is supposed to show that Exnic knows what kind of person he is, that even he has flaws and needs people to get what he wants. Unfortunately, he didn’t account for Amy having common sense and literally try to nope out of there. (Additionally, him calling his flaws “minor bugs” is a reference to Sonic.EXE being a game/having one.)

Page 11 depicts Exnic’s response to Amy walking away. He’s still formal and calling her “Miss Rose,” but she interrupted him and trying to decline something she doesn’t have context for. However, even if Amy doesn’t know what that is yet, everything Exnic has done so far has been telling her that whatever he wants her for is bad.

When she tells him that to some degree, he appears in front of her, so close their noses touch, and he growls out “I THINK YOU’LL WANT TO.”

Essentially, he’s reacted negatively. He’s already angered by Amy interrupting him before he can finish his explanation; he’s only mad because she’s refusing something she doesn’t know about yet, and that he’s already giving her that chance to decline after she’s heard everything. Yet when she continues to ignore him and decline, he teleports into her personal space.

That brings us to Page 12, where neither character reacts verbally. Not sure if this was conveyed well, but Amy’s response to Exnic’s anger is to jump back, getting him out of her personal space and reach for her hammer… only to realize it’s not there.

I’ve talked about this in the tags on the original post, so I’ll just quote them here: “The Amy in this comic knows how to kickbox. She primarily fights with her Piko Piko Hammer, but if she ever finds herself being unable to use it, (like in this page), she will throw hands. In either case, she has a very heavy swing.”

(I also talked about how I used to know how to kickbox myself at one point, some odd few years ago, and that, if I was remembering correctly, one of the punches is referred to as “hammer fist” — which I thought was fitting, so. There’s that reasoning also.)

Exnic doesn’t react to Amy raising her fists right away. He remains motionless in one panel, still smiling and staring directly at her. In the next three panels afterward, his expression changes a few times; his eyes revert back to rings, his wide grin falling as he looks away.

Then, finally… he deflates and sighs.

No further threats. No insults, no Nothing else. Both characters are silent, yet they still act. If I was writing Exnic any differently, he could’ve just attacked. But he doesn’t, all because he stops, thinks, and restrains himself.

And that’s it. I won’t talk about Page 13 too much, since it’s the next page and you might not’ve read it yet, but I will say that Exnic continues not to threaten her, instead showing how he understands why she’s reacting the way she is.

I wanted to show what these two are like in BoD, because I love both of them in their own regards and wanted to do them justice.

Amy might be a hero to some degree, but she is also a kid. She’s strong, smart, caring, passionate, and capable of making mistakes. She’s already made some so far, and will continue to make them as the comic goes on. She certainly isn’t new to facing a foe or fighting back against them, so I hope that came through, and that if it hasn’t properly yet, that it will.

Exnic is an entity without a discernible origin. He’s patient, smart, overconfident, morbid, and thrives on throwing others off kilter. He is fair and understanding, but can lash out if someone declines before he can finish explaining. He pokes fun at himself! He knows when not to act out on his anger and when to restrain himself! He withholds information about himself! He’s silly! He’s got dimensions.

So far, writing Exnic and Amy together has been a lot of fun. Exnic does need something from Amy, but is also being unpleasant on purpose, while Amy has been trying to get her bearings this whole time and process what the hell is happening. She’s frequently baffled and/or startled by him, and he doesn’t care because that’s just who he is as a person.

Okay, I have been writing this since 11 AM in my timezone and it is well beyond when I usually reblog these pages to my main blog! If anyone’s chosen to read up this point, I’d like to thank you! As you can tell, I’m just a fella that loves the finer details of stories, and I put a lot of love into this fancomic and its characters.

But basically… (LET THIS BE THE MAGOLOR ARC MASTERPOST!) everything under the cut. Its super long KSJS

Pre-RTDL. Havent actually posted about it, if I remember correctly. But this ask kind of covers what happened to Halcandra. The arc is Mags surviving in the destroyed planet with Void Termina being a little shit and feeding his desire for vengeance (blowing it up into a hatred towards the universe) and playing on his insecurities. Finding the Lor, meeting Marx, etc etc. (Related: the timeline of events including the two galactic crises that befell the Ancients)

RTDL has a retelling which I havent touched on in my own posts yet (its usually me rambling in the tags). Involves Mags interacting with the Popstar Four, growing fond of the planet, finding friendship with them as a not so bad thing, growing hesitant with his plans for conquest… Termina convincing him otherwise.

post-RTDL-SA has a retelling, which I should talk about more. Mags is still a little shit for a while, still thinking about conquest or power, stealing relics, manipulating the Four. Reminiscent of the stuff in the light novels. He only makes legit attempts at turning good after Robobot (bc Kirby was able to drive away the HALTMANNS, who destroyed his old home)! SA has him proving himself as a good ally. Shaky trust with the Allies but hes taking it.

SA-FL has him trying harder to build more trust. Not the best attempts but he really is trying!

FL postgame. False Paradise. Talked about briefly here (the link on the ask details it a bit more)!

Zero3 arc. Not talked about yet. Will someday! AFTER I FIND A MORE PROPER NAME FOR IT. (Considering Into the Darkness or something that involves eyes). Referenced here and here! (And here too!) Melania looks for knowledge and finds out about/summons Zero to “know true despair”. Morbidly curious fellow, she is. Anyway, as for Mags, his attempts at being good are much more legitimate here. He cares for Popstar, he cares for the Allies. He wants to be better for them bc they have…somewhat accepted him into their home. Part of the ending here!

Mangoes and Berries. This is the romance arc with Mags and Meta. I dont really tag this one bc its just the two being gay disasters AKDJEK. Touch of angst bc Mags is stupid in love with Meta and is drifting away from Marx. But they all make amends. Such a shame that all those promises of staying together get smashed in the next arc.

v3′s art is comically terrible for a professionally distributed game in a series: a compilation

in this not-essay I will list all of the mistakes and problems I have spotted in v3′s art. don’t worry, it’s entirely for fun and I’m doing this on a whim, so please feel free to not take this seriously but also it’s hilarious and embarrassing how ridiculous this is like what happened did they speedrun the whole production or what

see, there are some things you can take as meta like “they made it bad on purpose to allude to the downfall of tv shows that have been on air for much too long” but I have a very strong feeling this is not the case due to the nature of some of these errors

disclaimer, the more I study this art, the more I fear that the artists were underpaid and underslept, so if this is in fact the case, I am so sorry to all of them but also I’m going to make fun of the art anyway

anyway let’s get started!

if you study this image for longer than 5 seconds, you will see that kaede is the only one fully shaded and keebo is literally just his normal sprite pasted into the image. every other character is just an ordinary ref, hence most of them facing the exact same direction with neutral expressions on their faces. it looks like a bad edit, and is probably one of the worst pieces of art in the game. it kind of gets better from here on, but my roasting will not.

with that out of the way, here’s the problem that officially bothers me the most and clarifies my viewpoint of “this is not meta and an actual lack of company communication”

this freaking cg, which seems normal at a glance, but some wiseass was like “oh, kaede is a girl, so obviously she’s going to be shorter than the Male Protagonist™” ah, that’s funny. because if you look at the character bios, kaede is, in fact, one inch taller than shuichi and not like 6 inches shorter as she is shown here.

also shuichi’s shoulder is disproportionate and horrendous and he looks vaguely like a jojo character, but I wasn’t even thinking about that until right now.

thanks guys, 50% of the fandom who has never bothered to check these bios thinks that kaede is like 5′3 (did the developers really put so little thought into her to the point where drawing her correctly in the game didn’t even matter??)

also I would like to point out that, even though this isn’t related to the art itself, yes, a character kaede’s size being only 117 lbs is unfeasible, but this applies to literally every character in danganronpa ever and it’s not new news that it’s unrealistic

update: someone in the tags informed me that in versions of the game that use centimeters, like the japanese version, kaede is actually shorter than shuichi, which just adds another thing to the list of weird decisions the localization team made for no reason. that said, after confirming this, kaede is 167 cm in the original, while shuichi is 171 cm, which are approximately 5′6 and 5′7 respectively, but one inch is still nowhere near as drastic as it is depicted above. (in spite of this, I would rather depict kaede as slightly taller, so I’m probably going to keep doing that.)

I have to mention it, guys. this has to be one of the worst danganronpa cgs. kokichi’s facial proportions look atrocious. look at the way his face sticks out like his jaw is in the wrong place. his scarf is a pasted texture. that’s it. this moment was so iconic but the cg just looks so… so… off. like something is terribly wrong, but you can’t put your finger on it.

let’s imagine you’re an artist working on a professional game. you’re assigned to draw cgs of kokichi ouma, who has a checkered scarf from hell. sure, it will be terrible to draw, but you only have to draw it once at a time! plus, perspective is pretty important, right? can you be bothered? nah, actually. let’s just copy paste a checkered pattern into the cg, because I’m sure nobody will notice. it’ll blend right in with the other cgs that someone actually put effort into drawing his scarf in, right?

real talk, maybe you could argue that he’s missing muscle because he’s deathly sick, but most of his cgs don’t line up with this, and his arms just look disproportionate to his torso size (granted this is a consistent problem across all danganronpa games and a lot of characters have this weird problem, like hajime, but also kaito is bigger than hajime so I kind of have higher expectations of him) maybe it’s his stupid goatee and the way he reminds me of yasuhiro?? it creates this illusion that he’s older than he is and so I keep expecting him to look more like an adult

so, that done, the sprites are also pretty terrible at times. they’re not as interesting to go through, however, and downloading the full sprite sets for every character and studying every single one of them will drive me insane, so I’ll just sum some of the ones I noticed up. I made things for kaede and shuichi before deciding I wasn’t going to get into it, so here are these.

that said, other mistakes include kokichi missing his purple highlights in all of the sprites encompassing a specific pose, stray pixels all over the place on everyone, and everyone also has heavily inconsistent shading, but literally all I think about is how pregame shuichi is unshaded and two of kaede’s pregame sprites have glaring outfit change mistakes in them

anyway, thank you for taking the time to read my ridiculous ramble. in all seriousness, there’s this looming presence of some lack of communication in the development team, like with all the art and design inconsistencies, pieces and sprites that look rushed, stray pixels, and missing basic proportional stuff. these are the kinds of things that you supposedly have to pretty much have in the bag in order to get jobs in professional businesses, so it’s really weird to me that this game suffers from so many of these problems. it’s like they tried to make the art so much more crisp than the other games, but it fell on its face as they realized it was going to take longer to draw everything and they started to rush. it’s weird, because the coloring itself looks normal–it’s just sloppily drawn, and the proportions are a mess once put into the context of perspective. many of the cgs look like they were drawn by different people, and I’m still not over the fact that half of kokichi’s cgs have his scarf pasted in as a texture.

the moral of the story is that if you’re selling a game at full price that also happens to be in a series that has had 3 very good games in it already the stakes should probably be higher than this. v3 has been out for more than 3 years and it’s still $40 (did it cost more than that before? I sure hope not), and the overarching quality of the game is just not as high as the other games. I’m not saying that the other games don’t have any problems with their art at all, they’re just not as glaringly obvious and every artistic choice in those games feels intentional.

regardless, I had a blast roasting the art at 2am, so maybe you got a kick out of all this chaos.

So, the lie for this one was "Only her parents and Lacuna are allowed to call her by her birth name."

While Lacuna is one of the handful of people that actually knows Eris's birth name and one of the even fewer people who have bothered to learn to correctly pronounce it, Eris's reaction to hearing Lacuna finally get it right was essentially "That's really really sweet of you for putting in the effort, and I know I was the one who told you that name and gave you permission to use it, but this feels way weirder than I expected to hear you say that name, so please don't anymore."

And now that I go back looking for a snippet that goes over that, I'm realizing that's something I've said in multiple tag games, but hasn't shown up in the actual text of the story itself. Huh... funny how that happens. I'll need to fix that at some point.

As for the commercial driver's license, we've got this supporting snippet from Chapter 6 - Background Checks:

The musclehead’s first on the list.  Eris.  First Backstage encounter at seventeen, dropped out of the local community college, got a job as a long-haul trucker - plenty of liminal spaces for spooks to slip through in that line of work - shortly thereafter, and has been making waves in the monster hunter community ever since.  After two years of that she found Crossherd and for some reason got herself a day job with the city’s sanitation department.  An odd choice to have a day job at all for a hunter, but then again Sullivan’s seen enough sewer monsters and bodies left in dumpsters to figure there’s probably more overlap between the two professions than anyone wants to admit.

Regarding Eris being multilingual, there are several scattered references to it, usually in the context of her stating she prefers to actually learn languages than rely on translation magic, but as for a specific number of known languages the closest we get is this emotional outburst from Lacuna in Chapter 10 - Cleanup trying to make Eris feel better after some bad stuff went down:

This isn’t right.  Eris isn’t the one who cries.  Eris is the strong one.

That isn’t right.  E isn’t…

Lacuna leans in closer, wrapping her arms around her friend.

“You’re not a dumb beast,” she whispers.  “You’re kind and funny and smart and gentle and laugh at my lame references and explain why romcoms are great actually and listen to me when I ramble and do volunteer work and get me to go out in public and show me how to do makeup even if neither of us ever actually bothers with it usually and your smarter than me and know like a hundred different trees and are quadlingual or something and are good with directions and… and… and…”

Eris puts her own arms around her friend.

Lacuna remembers what those hands did to the bloodsucker on the ship, flinches, then hugs her tighter.

“Shhh…. Shhh…” Eris whispers.  “Can’t have both of us crying.  Where would we be then?”

“Crying on your bed together like a couple of losers.”

“Well, that can’t be right, because, I don’t know about me, but you’re definitely not a loser.”

“If I’m not then you couldn’t possibly be.”

“It’d be pretty weird then if there were a couple of losers crying on my bed then, huh?”

“Yeah, it sure would be.”

This is right.  This is a comforting silence.

Honestly though, the actual number of languages and which ones Eris speaks is "at least four, but however many and whichever ones wind up being plot convenient for her to know or not know, so long as I don't contradict myself."

Oh I just wanted to go on my mini ramble here and say.

I too also have some stuff about lore olympus I wish was different like.

Come on I wish apollo wasn't the way he was in lore olympus and I do prefer regular apollo.

He is a decent guy! He just has a terrible love life --

And uh yeah there are times I get annoyed with persephone.

Like sometimes I wish the plot would move forward faster and hey sometimes I get confused as to why all this extra plot is getting added in.

I mean I LOVE it all but also I just expected hades and persephone to go through like..regular relationship drama because of minthe only like the original myth.

The main thing that would annoy me about persephone is how..its taking her a long..long time to be more assertive and speak her mind.

Her keeping such big secrets in is clearly stressing her out and yeah only two people know but oh boy wouldn't I love it if she just straight told everyone else.

Oh how would have loved if she smacked the GREEN off of tori and the rest of those bullies.

I wish thetis would get stomped by hera in the street.

I wish we could circle back to semele beverage ya know dionysus!

I really wish we could get some fun interaction with Ares and Athena.

Interaction between Athen and Aphrodite would be gold.

And listen I know for persephone she is a tame and kind woman and all of this is new to her and it all happened so fast and she had to process it all and her feelings and speaking for herself to these city folk's because ya know she's basically a country..valley girl in a way that just moved to a big city.

Maybe just give a snobby attitude and pretty boy that has a crush on persephone and goes out of his way to impress her but keeps falling but he's still a nice dude and worries for her and doesn't think hades is the best match for her.

That same morning tension in the agency could be cut with a knife, Bakugou´s nasty humour was filling the entire place and everyone could feel it. Kirishima was smart enough to know exactly what was happening, he could see it in Bakugou's face, regret and sorrow covered his features. He wanted to comfort him, let him know everything would be alright but it was useless, he won't be able to change his mind.

On the other side, Todoroki wanted to ask a bunch of questions; what was he thinking of leaving with Uraraka? Did they sleep together? Does this mean they are getting back together? Can he ask you out? All these questions left unanswered cause as soon as he approached the boom boom man, he shoved the door right in his face, telling him to fuck right off.

Everyone else was too afraid to approach him the rest of the day, so he was alone in his office, except for Izuku who came in to deliver some paperwork.

"Hey Kacchan, I heard you were in a bad mood today, care to explain why?" Izuku's eyes were not directed to him, but the tone in his voice dripped with sarcasm.

"I already told Icy-Hot to fuck off, you can take a hint, can't you Deku?" The looks in his eyes training to pierce, unsuccessfully, through Izuku.

"Don't worry I want to talk for a minute, it'll be quick."

"Then spit it out."

"After you left that night with Ochako I was pretty surprised, I thought that story was done and you closed the book, but now I guess you've decided to reopen it, right Kacchan?"

"I won't say anything about that, it was a fucking mistake, it's done."

"Oh but I don't think it is, first you avoid Mrs Y/LN at all costs, then you break up all a sudden with her, be miserable for a while to finally run into Ochako's arms once again. Am I missing a detail?" Bakugou's silence answered for him, "Personally I think it's great, you know? Getting your family back together, besides..." The tone on his voice went lower, dangerously, his intentions were no good and Bakugou knew it, but he also knew he couldn't blat out in the middle of the agency, not again. "This only means that Y/N is available, right? She´s single I mean."

Bakugou gritted his teeth, he wanted to punch him for every single freckle that green-haired asshole, but he kept his composure. "What are you trying to get at, fucking nerd?"

"Oh you know, she's gorgeous, I had lunch with her the other day, a magnificent writer, brilliant woman. She knows more about romanticism than I know about All Might." He let out a small giggle before continuing, "Ended up spending the rest of the day with her, and I couldn't resist myself I ask for her number and well..." This time his eyes were position directly on the blonde man, provoking him. "I ask her out."

Enough. Bakugou thought, before slamming Midoriya against the wall, his eyes injected with blood and rage, his breathing heavy and slow, the strong grip he had around Midoriya's neck almost hurting him.

"I don't understand Kacchan, I thought you were done with her, at least... that's what I heard you say to Kirishima a few weeks ago." A smirk covered his entire face.

"Don't play with me fucking Deku, you aren't man enough to handle her, she's everything while you are absolutely nothing." His voice low, spit in every word.

"I may not be man enough for her, but I'm hero enough to love her. If I recall correctly, she dedicated that book to me, the number one hero." He wasn't scared, determined. He shoved his finger right into Bakugou's face, indicating he was the number one hero, not him. "Besides, who are you to talk, leaving her without so much as a goodbye, it's not me who is a coward it's you, Kacchan."

He used his old nickname against him, taunting him, messing and teasing with his feelings. Bakugou was trying not to let him get into his head, but it was too late. Before he could say anything else the sound of a ringtone interrupted, it was Midoriya's phone. Both of them turning their heads to the lighted up screen, Y/FN displayed at the of the screen.

"Well look at that." Midoriya's thumb pressed to answer, and a few seconds later your voice appeared.

"Hey, Izuku." Bang. A shot to the heart, first name basis.

"Hello, love. Is everything okay?" He answered, Bakugou's eyes were slowly filling with tears, lately that was a habit in him.

"Yeah, don't worry. I was just wondering if we were still up for having dinner at my place later tonight. I bought a bottle of red wine and a lot of popcorn bags, you can't bail on me." She let out a small laugh, a laugh Bakugou missed so dearly.

"Of course we are still up for tonight, already scheduled my early leave and my day off for tomorrow." His eyes directly onto Bakugou's, he was serious.

"Great! You already have my address, see you tonight!"

"See you, doll." He hanged up.

Silence covered the room, Izuku waiting for Bakugou to say something, but that wasn't happening.

"See Kacchan, told you I was..."

"Pasta."

"What?"

"She loves alfredo sauce with lots of garlic bread, she prefers to have iced coffee over any drink and she cries every time she ends a chapter." He rambled.

"Bakugou what are you..." Interrupted once again.

"Don't let her watch too many true crime videos, she gets paranoic; she classifies everything in colours in order of the rainbow and her favourite flowers are red, almost maroon roses. "

"Kacchan..." He said in disbelief.

"I love her with everything I've got, I'm convinced she's the love of my life, never have I been more sure, but I also know I can't make her happy. Not when I'm this coward, so if anyone else can make her feel loved, then so be it." His face looked down the entire time, not wanting Izuku to see him cry, but he couldn't help it. "As long as she 's happy, I know I will be."

Once again the fandom coming together to daydream about Mickey helping Ian out and seeing him back on track to become an emt again but why is that on Mickey? Why does he always have to do things to make Ian happy when Ian's usually nothing but annoyed by Mickey and does nothing to make Mickey happy? Truly shows which character y'all care about more.

This got absurdly long, because I am who I am and did take the opportunity to go off on a tangent about valid conclusions and what not, so I put it under a cut. Read at your own risk! Oh, and I also do address the actual question about whether or not Ian's career is on Mickey, and whether or not Ian never does anything to make Mickey happy. ;)

For the sake of clarity, I got this ask in response to this post.

And I gotta say, nonnie, getting this ask perplexed me to the point of running off to Trusted Fandom Friends, demanding to know how my undying love and loyalty for Mickey could ever be doubted. Had to laugh at myself a little, actually, and the strenght of my befuddlement. It reminded me of the time I went on a trip with people from the 501st (cosplayers dedicated to the bad guys in Star Wars) and Rebel Legion (cosplayers dedicated to the good guys in Star Wars) and a lot of people assumed I was a Rebel sympathizer simply because I had friends in that group and those were the people who had invited me. Excuse me, I didn't yell, I have like 30 Darth Vaders in my damned home, how dare you question my allegiance? I was so used to always being known as a diehard Vaderkin fangirl that the mer fact of strangers failing to recognize me as such genuinely fucked a little with my sense of identity. My love of Mickey isn't anywhere near as deeply ingrained into my sense of self, since he's only been an occasional presence in my life since 2016 while Darth Vader's been my main man since 1994, but it was still a little jarring to suddenly find myself (mis)identified as an Ian stan.

Being a fangirl is strange.

And I want to make it clear that I do love Ian. He's a fascinating character and, to me, he's a character that's often much harder to understand than Mickey. He rewards careful analysis and discussion, though, so I guess I tend to talk a lot about him? I don't need to spend as much time considering Mickey's feelings and motivations because they are (almost) always pretty obvious; I don't need to tease them out. But at the end of the day, Mickey is my favourite. (Though I'll always love Ian and Mickey together more than I love either of them on their own. It's like fresh cilantro and mint – each perfectly lovely in their own right, but the combination of them creates a flavour that's just out of this world.)

Now, you might argue that you don't follow me and so have no idea who I am and what I like to post about, and that going only by that single post (which, in fairness, was tagged with 'i just want ian to be happy okay?') I give off the general impression of an Ian stan. And that's fair enough; I'm an obscure blog in a decently big fandom and you're not required to keep track of anyone. However, if you want to throw around passive aggressive accusations of caring more about one character than the other, I will ask you to do your research first. Reacting to one single piece of data without considering the context is a common but highly unfortunate practice that needlessly complicates meaningful conversations, and we'd all do well to abstain from it.

Oh, you don't want to spend a lot of time and energy on consdering every single thing a specific Tumblr blog has ever said on a specific topic just so you can draw a valid conclusion about their stance? That's perfectly understandable, nonnie, and easily sorted: refrain from making unsubstantiated claims about what other people think or don't think and you won't have to. Ask them, if you wonder. If you see a tendency in fandom to put the responsibility for Ian's wellbeing and career or Mickey's shoulders and want to discuss that, that's totally cool! I am game (and will address that question below)! But it's very possible to do that without somewhat rudely ascribing perferences and opinions to other people, and you'll get better answers for it (for instance, you won't have to wade through me rambling on about valid conclusions and my memories from other fandoms... ).

It seems to me, though, that this touches upon a long-held frustration of yours. If I interpret your ask correctly, you think the show gives us an Ian who is mostly annoyed with Mickey and doesn't do anything to make him happy, and you think that the fandom responds to this by relegating Mickey to the role of Ian's caretaker, whose sole purpose is to serve Ian's needs without any regard for what might Mickey himself happy. Have I got that right?

If so, it should be noted that I don't agree with either of these takes: I don't think that's the Ian the show gives us (a point I will return to below), and I don't think that fandom at large only cares about Ian's happiness, and I particularly don't think that my post can be used a evidence of the latter.

For instance, when you sent me this ask the post in question had all of 40 notes. As I write this, it has just over 70. ”The fandom coming together” seems to be slightly overstating the case, don't you think? There are certainly fans who care more about Ian and only see Mickey as valuable as long as he contributes to Ian's happiness, just as there are fans who care more about Mickey and only see Ian as valuable as long as he contributes to Mickey's happiness - but this single post with less than a hundred notes does not support that either of these stances would be predominant within the fandom. (And, while on the topic, I'd like to state that I don't actually see a problem with either of those stances; these are fictional characters that exists for our entertainment and we don't have any moral obligations to treat them equally and fairly. Don't ruin other fans' fun by dumping on either of them in the character or shipping tags or on character and shipping posts and this is not a problem. It might be a somewhat unpopular opinion, but I don't think you have to love or even like all characters in a ship to ship it: I refuse to drink plain tea because it's nasty but put a splash of milk in it and its my favourite thing ever. You can love a combination without loving all the seperate pieces on their own. And yeah, I do revert to food metaphors a lot. I like food.)

Secondly, whether or not the post can be said to represent the feeling of the fandom at large (it cannot), I think that reading a post specifically about ”Mickey helping Ian out and seeing him back on track to become an emt again” and then extrapolating from that that Mickey ”always have to do things to make Ian happy” is a little wild. The very first thing I wrote for this fandom was a vision of Ian offering Mickey comfort, goddammit. (Ian giving Mickey a hug is so high on my list of desires, you can't even imagine)

As for your actual question (and, ah, imagine how much shorter this post would be if you had just left it at that) – of course that's not on Mickey. That much, incidentally, I've actually explicitly stated in another post. Ian might have his issues but he's still an adult and responsible for himself. That being said, I don't see it as particularly strange that someone would go out of their way to help their partner when they see them struggling? If I realize that someone I care about is unhappy and there's a way for me to help, I would want to help because I love them and want them to be happy, even if it's – ethically speaking – not my responsibility to do so. Pretty sure Mickey, who is action-oriented and so very protective of the people he loves, feels the same way.

Of course, if it's a one-sided thing – if one partner is always the one to do stuff for the other and never receives any support in return – that's not a healthy relationship, and I assume that this is what you're seeing in the show and taking exception to?

Only... I can't help but wonder who this Ian is, this uncaring, selfish version you see – because I don't quite get how it can be the Ian who emptied his bank account for Mickey, or the Ian who was ready to throw his parole and stay in prison for Mickey even when they were in the middle of a fight specifically because Mickey said it would make him happy, or the one who kept trying to talk to Mickey and win him back after Mickey punched him in the face, accidentally broke his leg, and took off with a new lover (I'm not taking sides in this one, btw – I have a lot of sympathy and understanding for both of them and their actions throughout this whole sorry affair), or the Ian who immediately wanted to marry Mickey protect him from the consequences of a murder Ian thought he had actually comitted, or the Ian who went along with arranging a real wedding even though he initially didn't at all understand why this was important to Mickey and who had someone come serenade him once he did, or the Ian who chose At last for Mickey to walk up to the aisle to, or the Ian who keeps trying to reach out to Mickey and to touch him and discuss their issues in a mature way even when he's (justifiably) upset about Mickey using all their wedding money without telling Ian. (Though Ian deciding for both of them that they're saving the money isn't great either.)

I mean, Ian's absolutely done shitty things, as has Mickey. They're human, and they're the products of a chaotic and often hostile enviroment. They do mess up a lot; they've hurt each other rather badly over the years. Depending on your perspective and preferences, you may think one or the other have behaved worse, but as far as I can see, the claim that Ian never does anything to make Mickey happy is simply not supported.

Ian has seemed unusually annoyed with Mickey this season, I'll give you that, but while that's not always the most fun thing to watch and I strongly sympathize with the wish to just see Ian look at Mickey with that fond look again, I don't find him being frustrated right now all that weird, given the circumstances. I'd argue it has less to do with Mickey and more to do with a general frustration over thwarted ambitions and not being able to hold on even to a really shitty job, though Mickey's attitude doesn’t exactly help (which is not to say that I think that Ian's the one in the right here, becasue Ian's way of handling things hasn't always been been stellar either). However, I do have faith in them sorting this out – because even though they fight and bicker and get annoyed with each other, there's never any indication that they're not both committed to making this marriage thing work. They certainly stumble, they misunderstand each other and lash out, but they calm down and go to sleep in the same bed and compromise and keep trying. Every day, they – both of them – choose each other.

I'd like to finish this off by noting, even though it's not entirely relevant to my argument, that that the number one thing that does make Mickey happy is being together with Ian, and even when Ian is pissed at Mickey and withholding sex (which was very ill-advised but says a lot of interesting things about his character, I think!) no one's sleeping on the couch, there are no nights away from the house and each other, and even in the middle of an argument they sit and stand next to each other. I think that's pretty telling of Ian's dedication, especially given his propensity for running away from his problems.

I’m honored to be tagged by @cherrisplace​ and @momoredcrow​. ^^ It’s been a pleasure to read other people’s Rammstein memories and opinions, so here comes mine as well. Writing is one of those rare things that keep me sane during this crazy season, so I apologize this being super long. More rambling is probably coming when everything’s cancelled and I have nothing else to do.

1. I’m curious: when did you discover Rammstein?

2004 properly, but I might have heard Du hast or other popular songs even earlier.

2. Tell me your story. How did you discover them?

As said, it was 2004 and I was watching some random Finnish music show. Back in the days, I watched a lot of music videos from the tv and recorded my favorite ones to VHS. One evening Rammstein’s Amerika came from the show and I was like “??? What on earth is this??? Sounds interesting…”. I wasn’t into metal music back then (I mostly listened to indiepop and alternative rock), but for whatever reason, I got hooked instantly to this German band’s dark, eerie sound. It was refreshing to hear something else than English and the video was also thrilling.

Rammstein had intruded my mind already, but the final straw was when I saw the Mein Teil video. I liked both the song and the video A LOT - so much that I even felt kinda “dirty” for liking something this dark. A 14-year-old me was constantly asking from myself that: “am I even allowed to like this kind of stuff this much?”. The backstory for the song was creepy, but so mesmerizing – like I had been introduced to the darkest corners of human mind: yes, this kind of stuff happens, and we shouldn’t close our eyes from it. So next, the only thing I could do was to buy Reise, reise album, listen to it on loop and sketch my German notebook full of Rammstein lyrics. Here’s a proof:

I have so many stories about my relationship to Rammstein that I might have to write them all down now when there’s a lot of time.

3. Favourite song?

This topic would be worth a novel itself, but here are some of my favorites:

Asche zu Asche – So badass, gives me such an energy every time – plus, not to forget the burning microphones and SILVER REESH!

Bück dich – Yes, it’s a horrible story once again in this song, but I can’t help but to admit that the song is freaking catchy and in a weird way, hot. Also, there’s a funny backstory when I was in 9th grade and we almost performed this song in our official graduation party with my boyfriend and a bunch of our friends (maybe good that the idea was abandoned in the end…). We had a vague clue what the song was about, but we just thought it was funny – also, our German teacher dressed always in leather and loved Rammstein (she played us Bestrafe mich during one class and I’ll always remember the awkward atmosphere) so we were thinking to dedicate the song to her for as our goodbye. XDD Seriously, why I have been so weird for all my life…

Sehnsucht – In most of the pop songs, longing is described by tender words and soft lyrics, but not in Rammstein’s case. I’ve had this weird feeling of “longing” all my life that I can’t describe properly. It’s kind of an inner emptiness, only arts and music can help to deal with it when it hits. I think Sehnsucht describes so realistically what is longing about in reality: it’s this angry pressure in your heart which you want to get out of your chest but can’t. In the end, you just want to scream your lungs out.

Mein Herz brennt – Powerful song that always gives me goosebumps. I can’t even explain why. Maybe the fact that “tough” men being emotional is my soft spot and Rammstein hits that spot hard.

Links 2-3-4 – I have always been kind of a rebel and I feel like when everyone else is going to the “right” I have to go to the left, to the unknown. My heart is longing for adventure, for the paths the others are not going. I dunno, but this is such a powerful song for me. When I hear it, I always just want to jump around. In Tampere concert I went totally nuts when Links started as the second song, lol. From that moment I felt like I was back home with my boys.

Mein Teil – No need for further explanations anymore.

Los – The harmonica solo!!! The dropped c tuning and the acoustic sounds!! I love it.

Amour – My favorite R+ ballad. I confess that I listen to this and think about the lyrics when I’m in the mood for writing something painfully romantic.

Weit weg – There’s this painful longing once again that always resonates to me. I listened this to a lot after the “after blues” of Ratina concert.

Tattoo – A song that I didn’t care about so much at first, but for whatever reason, it’s almost my favorite from the new album nowadays. It’s catchy as hell and I like the “rattling” guitar riffs.

4. Least favourite song? Come on. I know you have one.

Feuer frei – Too much Vin Diesel vibes. I also get a picture of drunken, middle-aged Finnish guys on a R+ gig who don’t care about to band, but just want to have a party of their life and get drunk, far away from their wives. (No offense to anyone, but as music is almost like a religion to me, I can’t help but to have a bit of disrespect for kind of people who just “consume” music.)

Pussy – Both musically and lyrically, so bad, but I get the point the guys tried to give with this nonsense.

5. Favourite album? & 6. Least favourite album? aka. I ramble about all the albums.

Tough one… as the rules were vague, I decided to have a short opinion about each of the albums.

Herzeleid – Summary: a bunch of guys, born and raised in DDR, are tired of everything so they get together and play aggressive songs - you can almost smell the testosterone miles away while you are listening to this album. I have to admit that I love this album even though it’s not musically super creative. It’s just raw men with raw feelings – and I have to say, it works for me.

Sehnsucht – I was creeped out of the album art as a teenager, lol. But yeah, musically improved from the former one and there are some classic songs that make Rammstein as they are nowadays. I listen to this often when I’m driving.

Mutter – The album that they had the most struggles with if I have understood correctly. The pain can be heard through the songs and it’s so honest and raw. I lost my friend in 2004 tragically and this album was one of the things that kept me sane back then. Especially the beginning of the album (MHB, Links, Sonne) hits me hard in the guts.

Reise, reise – The album that started all this hype in me, so it has a special place in my heart. I also liked how they tried something different to their usual sounds in this one, like orchestral and acoustic songs.

Rosenrot – To be honest, this album has always left me a bit “cold”, so I cannot even make a real opinion of it. There are some good moments though, like Mann gegen Mann that really speaks to me.

Untitled: This has been on the loop since last August and I was honestly surprised how good the album was. I hadn’t listened to Rammstein for a while, but when I got this album to my hands after the concert, holy shit it hit me. I like hearing the path the guys have gone: their new music is much more mature than the first angry albums. Also, I love Till’s poetry in this one, like Was ich liebe and Weit weg.

I think I answered the question #7 already, so I’ll skip to #8.

8. Unpopular opinion about a member? A scandal? Anything?

Even though I appreciate Till as an artist and a poet, I don’t find his appearance attractive. You can throw rotten tomatoes at me now, but this is just my opinion, no means to offend anyone. Maybe the reason is that my taste for men tends to go for androgynous side, so I am not drawn towards very masculine men.

I’m not interested in Lindemann project and I don’t like their music so much, but the tour looked entertaining though. I bet all the people who attended had a lot of fun.

How Richard pronounces English is extremely sexy to my ear, even though it clearly sounds like a German guy trying to sound American - still, it’s like honey to my ears. Stupid man who makes my knees weak with everything he does.

I hate to admit that I don’t like Ohne dich so much. I don’t know why. :(

9. Have you ever seen them live? Tell me what you felt.

Three times this far! Oh man, I could talk about for hours how the concerts have made me feel, but I try to be reasonable now.

Ruisrock, Turku, 2005 – My first time seeing them live – and going to a festival without any adult supervision, so it was a special experience overall – and they blew my mind. It was raining and thundering and we were completely soaked with my friends, but it was worth it!

Bonus for everyone who managed to read this far: teenage me waiting for Rammstein to start playing, looking so badass with my denim jacket and R+ logo drawn with eyeliner. :D

Hartwall Arena, Helsinki, 2012: We went to the show together with my boyfriend to celebrate Valentine’s day and holy shiiiiit it was awesome. Hands down one of the best evenings of my life. I was so hooked to Rammstein afterward that when we were at my bf’s family’s cottage, his brother had to tell me to stop blasting Herzeleid all the time in the kitchen. :’D

Ratina Stadium, Tampere, 2019: Aka. byebye my life, say hello to fics, listening to the band all over again, stupid memes and all the content this fandom creates. I fell in love again with Rammstein during this concert.

I have tickets for Düsseldorf and Tallinn, but now I can only wait and stress that will Corona ruin everything. In that case, I’ll weep alone and write fics about the tour 2020 that ended up never happening.

10. Do you play any instruments? If you do can you play any song by them?

Yeah, I play guitar and piano but nowadays I mostly sing. Rammstein songs are super easy to play with guitar and I recently learnt to play Tattoo and Sex. Have been practicing Engle on piano as well. Some songs I like to sing are Deutschland, Tattoo and Engel. The “speaking” parts are difficult though. ^^;
