@kyokikia -hii can i request sabo × fem!afab! bratty reader, and brat taming smut? i wanna be completely dominated by this man.
{MDNI 18+ only}
This oneshot is a 18+ only so read at your own risk
This oneshot contains the following: fingering, brat taming, rough sex, choking, praise kink, and more
ENEMIES TO LOVERS
BEWARE MY WRITING SUCKS
“Your mission is to seek out the revolutionary army’s chief of staff Sabo aka the flame emperor,” Admiral Akainu said from his desk in front of me
“But sir how many times am I going to have to tell you no matter how hard I try the little shit always manages to escape” I complain to my Captain slouching back into my chair not really wanna dealing with the flame emperor of all people
“I don’t wanna hear any complaints Miss Y/N it’s your job you're a marine so you will obey my orders” Admiral Akainu snaps towards me not really wanting to deal with my tantrum at the moment
“Yea yea whatever old man” I huff out while rolling my eyes
“Good now the last I heard he was spotted near *island name* your job is to bring him back dead or alive a monster like him needs to be sent to prison” Akainu growled out squeezing the sides of his desk nearly breaking the thing due to his strength
“Yes I know the routine Admiral” I huff out before lifting myself from the chair I was sitting in
“Don’t get pissed off at me if my mission doesn’t succeed again” I say as I begin making my way out of his office
“Just get the job done Y/N,” Akainu said as I shut the door before he could finish the rest of his complaining
This tends to happen almost every fucking month I’m sent an order to go hunt down the infamous Flame Emperor and let me tell you it’s literally the hardest thing I have ever had to do the little blonde fucker always seemed to escape my grasp and sometimes I would be so close but the little bastard loved to toy with me he would purposely let me capture him and then fucking laugh in my face and make his leave he loved to see my confidence go down the drain once I realized it was just another one of his stupid games and he would always say the same words before he left
“Sorry pretty maybe next time”
Yea right, he knows damn well I don’t have a fucking chance but does that mean I’m going to give uh no of course not, and besides hunting him down makes my job less boring.
I’m currently hiding on the island that Akainu told me that Sabo would be on I’m patiently waiting for him to make a big commotion like he always does somehow almost burning down each damn island we come across with his devil fruit powers
“Miss Y/N are you there” I hear from inside my pocket letting me know someone was trying to contact me from my mini Transponder snail
“Yeah I’m here,” I say pulling the little creature out of my marine coat
“Admiral Aka-“Before the soldier could finish his sentence a big boom came from the left side of the island letting me know that Sabo was for sure here
“Sorry got no time he’s here” I quickly say putting the snail back into my pocket before dashing off in the direction of the explosion
As I began nearing the sight there was fire everywhere literally everywhere why the fuck does the little shit has to be so destructive
Just as I was about to speed up my pace a person jumped in front of me causing me to stop in my place
“Well well well it’s Miss Pretty Marine again” The man chucked out his arms crossed over his chest with one hand holding his signature pipe
“Yea yea it’s not like I wanna be here” I growl out rolling my eyes in annoyance really not liking the way he’s teasing me
“Awe come on Y/N don’t be like that I know you missed me” Sabo laughed as he began slowly walking towards me
“Yea you wish” I snap back crossing my arms over my chest causing my shirt to tighten around my breast
“Mhm” Sabo hummed out stopping right In front of me and scanning his eyes over my body
“You know you're quite the rude woman,” Sabo said as he began walking circles around me causing me to want to punch him in his stupid face
“Okay and you expect me to be nice to you when you’re the fucking bad guy you dipshit” I snap at him my eyes following his every move
“Miss Y/N you got quite the dirty mouth it’s not very lady like” Sabo chucked out stopping in front of me again
“Why yo-“Before I could finish my sentence the fucker cut me off
“Catch me if you can Pretty” Sabo quickly said before making a dash for it leaving me in my spot in utter shock
Maybe I won’t bring this fucker in alive after all
I quickly dash my way in the direction of sabo trying to catch up with the annoying blonde
“GET BACK HERE SABO” I yell towards the man once I saw his body come into view ahead of me
“HAH YOU WISH PRETTY” Sabo yelled back slightly laughing at my persistence
Just as I was about to catch up to him the fucker decided to jump inside the nearest building causing me to nearly trip over my own feet
That little shit I swear I’m going to kill him
I quickly dash inside the abandoned building through the window causing the glass to shatter all over the wooden floors
“Well you sure do know how to make an entrance” Sabo chucked from his spot he was currently sitting in one of the chairs that were in the home with us with one leg in his lap and his arms crossed over his chest
“Oh shut up and fight me already” I growl becoming impatient with the blonde as I got into my fighting stance
“As you wish pretty” Sabo chucked getting up out of his seat and placing his pipe aside along with his hat leaving his blonde hair a mess
“I’m not holding back princess,” Sabo said as he began getting into his fighting stance in front of me
“Nether am I” I snap back giving him the biggest glare I could muster on my face
“Very well then,” Sabo said flinging his right hand toward my face causing me to block his punch with my arm
“Well I see your Reflexes got better” Sabo chucked out trying to land another punch my way causing me to dodge it
“Well I had to get stronger to catch your annoying ass” I growl out swinging my leg up towards his face trying to land a kick but before I could he grabbed my ankle keeping my leg in the air
“I’m sorry to burst your bubble princess but you have no chance,” Sabo said as he kicked my other leg out from under me causing me to land on my back with a loud thud
“Keep telling yourself that blondie” I growl out quickly raising myself up off the floor trying to land another punch on Sabo
“I gladly will princess” Sabo chucked out grabbing my wrist and turning me around to put me in a headlock causing my back to be pressed against his chest
“You know Miss Y/N I can’t help but tell your hair’s gotten longer” Sabo whispered in my ear causing chills to run down my spine
“Are you that obsessed with me that you pay attention to my hair growth” I snap back landing a hard hit against Sabo's stomach with my elbow causing him to let me go from the headlock
“What can I say Princess we see each other almost every month” Sabo chucked out as his eyes scanned my body
“Ha I bet you look forward to every month” I chuckle out trying to land a kick against his ribs
“What can I say you make my job less boring,” Sabo said as he grabbed my leg pushing me to the floor so that he was above me trapping my arms above my head with his hands
“I can say the same thing about you” I huff out breathing hard from our fight my chest slightly rising up and down causing my breast to rub against Sabo's chest
“You know Miss Y/N I’ve taken quite the liking towards you” Sabo whispered out his face inches from mine his breath lightly fanning my face
“Is that so” I breathe out looking at every inch of the man’s face that was above me causing him to do the same
“Fuck it” Sabo growled out
“Wha-“Before I could ask what he meant by that Sabo's lips were on mine in an instant I quickly jerked away in surprise slightly angry with the man
“What the fuck” I growl out looking at Sabo to see pure lust fogging his eyes
We didn’t say anything at all we just stared at each other in utter shock my brain literally couldn’t grasp what was going on
Before anyone could say another word Sabo's lips were back on mine I quickly accepted it letting our lips move in sync at an aggressive pace letting the man above me take the lead he quickly let go of my wrists letting me wrap my arms around his neck pushing him closer to me
“Fuck princess” Sabo growled out taking my bottom lip between his teeth causing me to let out a whine
“You’re fucking delicious” Sabo hummed out placing one of his gloved hands behind my neck to slightly lift my head to kiss me at a better angle
Before I could tell him to shut up and kiss me his lips were back on mine the kiss being more aggressive than before as his tongue entered my mouth he decided to open my legs with one of his knees placing himself between my legs his hard-on slightly rubbing against my clothed core causing me to let out a moan from the contact
“You’ve been quiet the brat Miss Y/N I think it’s about time I teach you a lesson,” Sabo said as he pulled away to breathe slightly grinding his hips against mine sending electric shock up my body
“Fuck” I gasped out slamming my eyes shut due to the pleasure
“Mhm don’t you agree” Sabo chucked out as he began trailing his free hand up my hip and towards my neck wrapping his long fingers around it slightly adding pressure causing my brain to feel like mush
I couldn’t even form a sentence let alone focus so I just simply nodded my head yes letting out a whine agreeing with Sabo's statement
“Well pretty look at you being a good obedient girl” Sabo chucked out pulling his hand out from behind my head so he could rub his gloved thumb over my bottom lip while his other hand was still wrapped around my throat
“What should I do with you” Sabo said as he scanned my body with his eyes feeling up his plate
“Why don’t you be a good girl and listen to everything I say yea,” Sabo said slightly grazing my cheek with the same thumb that was just on my lips
What the fuck am I doing I could lose my job over this but I just can’t seem to stop myself all this built-up tension that me Sabo have had over the last few years is flowing over and there’s nothing I can do to stop it
I simply just nod my head yes not wanting to give him the satisfaction of saying yes
“Come on princess I wanna hear that pretty mouth say it” Sabo chucked out tightening his grip on my throat
Why you little shit your lucky I don’t hate you right now
“Yes” I squeak out turning my head to the side embarrassed with myself
“Oh come on baby no need to be embarrassed” Sabo chucked out quickly standing up before leaning a hand down for me to grab so he could help me up off the floor
“Now Miss Y/N I want you to strip for me,” Sabo said taking a seat in the chair as he began taking his gloves off with his teeth
“But”
“No buts princess,” Sabo said patiently waiting for me to take my clothes off
“Whatever” I mumbled out slowly starting to unbutton my marine coat
“Good girl” Sabo said as he threw his gloves on the floor before placing his elbows on his knees while resting his chin in the palm of his hands getting ready to enjoy the show
I take my coat off throwing it on the floor before moving on to my shirt lifting it up over my head and taking it off leaving me in my bra
“Shit baby you really are pretty” Sabo groaned out leaning back in his chair to adjust his position trying to loosen the tight grip around his cock from his pants
That sentence alone caused my heart to burst out of my chest deciding to ignore the feeling I quickly unbuttoned my jeans before slowly pulling them down my hips to make the situation slightly harder for Sabo
“Fuck baby” Sabo growled leaning his head back as he began rubbing his hard-on through his pants
“Come here,” Sabo said as he patted his knee signaling me to come sit on his lap
I quickly obeyed his order slowly making my way toward him so that I was standing in front of him
“Don’t be shy baby sit down” Sabo chucked out grabbing my hips while slightly spreading my legs so I could position myself on his lap my legs on either side of the chair
“What should I do first,” Sabo said as he began running his hands up my hips and to my breast slightly giving them a squeeze causing me to lean my head back letting out a small whimper
“You like that huh” Sabo chucked out trailing his hands back down my body and behind my back placing them on my ass and giving both cheeks a good squeeze
“I bet you’re fucking drenched princess” Sabo mumbled as he began pampering kisses along my collarbone and neck causing me to shut my eyes and let a whine
“You sound as pretty as you look” Sabo mumbled as he began trailing one of his hands back around my stomach and down toward my core
“Are you okay with me doing this?” Sabo asked looking up at me to make sure I was okay
“Mhm” I hummed out drunk off his touch
“Okay then” Sabo chucked out finally placing his fingers where I needed him the most
“Shit pretty your drenched” Sabo growled out as he began rubbing circles around my clothed clit feeling how damp my underwear is I quickly grab a fist full of his shirt burying my face in his chest letting out whimpers and moans from the pleasure
“Fuck baby I can’t get over you how come we didn’t do this sooner” Sabo growled as he moved my underwear to the side slightly running his fingers through my folds causing me to jerk forward from the contact of his rough hands against my pussy lips
“Fuck Sabo please I need more” I sob into his chest not being able to handle the throbbing inside my pussy
“I don’t know baby do you think brats deserve rewards” Sabo mumbled out knowing damn what he was doing
“Yes please I’ll be a good girl I promise” I pant out against his chest getting slightly lightheaded from the lust fogging my brain
“Since you asked so nicely princess I’ll do you this favor just this once,” Sabo said as he entered one of his fingers into my core causing me to arch my back against him his hard cock slightly rubbing against my ass
“Fuck Y/N I can’t wait to feel you wrapped around my cock” Sabo moaned out slightly picking up his pace with his fingers causing us to hear my juices squash around his fingers
“Fuck Sabo you feel so good” I moan out slightly seeing the stars due to the overwhelming pleasure
“Fuck Y/N I can’t wait any longer” Sabo said as he quickly lifted us up from to the chair to head over to the bed that was in the middle of the room
Sabo gently placed me on the bed causing my hair to sprawl out onto the blankets with my legs slightly parted giving Sabo the perfect view of my clothed core
“Fuck Y/N you’re absolutely beautiful,” Sabo said as he began removing his clothes so I wasn’t the only one bare
Sabo soon made his way back above me sweat slightly layering his skin causing him to glow from the sunlight shining through the windows
“I wanna make you mine Y/N I wanna be the only one to make you feel this way,” Sabo said as he began slowly pulling my underwear down my legs causing me to lose the air that was in my lungs
“Fuck Sabo I have always wanted you to make me yours why do you think I keep coming back” I whimper out looking Sabo in the eyes
“Why do you think I keep running away princess I don’t want you to catch me for a reason,” Sabo said slamming his lips to mine as his hand found its way back to my core
“Fuck Sabo please fuck me already” I sob out slightly pulling away from the kiss
“Your wish is my command” Sabo growled out before literally ripping my bra in half causing my breast to bounce free giving him the perfect view of my hardened nipples
“Are you ready baby” Sabo mumbled as he began lining the head of his cock against my opening
“Please sabo” I whimper out wrapping both my arms and legs around him trying to push him as close as possible
Before anyone could say another word Sabo gracefully slid his cock inside me causing us to let out a moan at the same time from the contact of the base of his cock against my mushy walls
“Shit Y/N your so tight and warm” Sabo groaned out as he began slowly thrusting in and out of me causing my body to slightly shake from the pleasure
“Fuck Sabo oh my gosh” I choke out placing my face in the croak of his neck
“I know baby I know” Sabo growled out as he began picking up his pace causing our skin to slap against each other feeling the small house with our lewd noises
“Your the prettiest thing I have laid my eyes on” Sabo moaned out leaning away from my neck so he could look at my fucked out face
“Your mine Y/N you understand that means no more being a fucking brat” Sabo growled out wrapping his fingers around my throat once again
“Yes yes I understand” I choke out as tears begin to fill my eyes due to Sabo's aggressive thrust
“Fuck Y/N your such a good girl when your obedient” Sabo chucked out as he began aiming his hips upwards to hit that one spot causing me to yelp out while rolling my eyes in the back of my head
“Your face is so pretty when you’re full of my cock” Sabo said as he released my throat to push my hair out of my face so he could see me better
“Fuck Sabo I’m close” I moan out as began to feel the burning sensation I have been yearning for in my lower stomach
“Fuck baby me too” Sabo growled as he began to speed up his pace to reach his release faster causing my body to jerk forward with every thrust
“Fuck Sabo I’m going to cum” I moan out once I felt my legs shake and the burning in my lower stomach becoming more intense
“Do it pretty girl cum all over your cock” Sabo growled before slamming his lips against mine
Once that sentence left his mouth the band in my stomach popped causing me to cum all over Sabo’s cock
“Fuck baby that was sexy just hold out a little longer I’m close” Sabo whined out speeding up his pace desperately wanting to reach his release
“Fuck baby I’m going to cum” Sabo said as he gripped the blankets beside my head before releasing deep inside me
“Fuck baby your mine forever mine” Sabo groaned out as he looked down at my face me seeing nothing but care and love fogging his eyes

mixed drinks, mixed feelings.
[wc: 1.9k] ex fwb! gojo. sfw. angst. alcoholism. hurt/no comfort. you and gojo are teachers at jujutsu tech.
“hey, gojo?”
“...”
gojo hates drinking.
you're not sure who this imposter is—this slumped figure who is currently hunched over the sticky countertop, tangled white hair sprawled messily against the dark sleeves of his arms, accompanied by four almost-empty shot glasses nearby. no, the man you know has never even taken more than a couple sips when the staff goes out for drinks after work hours, nor could he barely tolerate the smell without gagging, his beautiful face contorted almost comically into unequivocal disgust, so whoever this is in front of you couldn't possibly be him.
around an hour ago, the crew decided to head over to the nearest izakaya to celebrate nanami’s newest promotion at his job. he may have left jujutsu tech a long time ago, but he remained close friends with everyone nonetheless. it was only after multiple rounds of drinks that you realized how gojo has mysteriously disappeared for a suspiciously long time, and everyone was too buzzed to notice. after checking the bathrooms and excusing yourself outside, a strange feeling washed over you; for some reason, you eventually found yourself making your way to the bar right across the street.
it seems that one way or another, there is that invisible string that persists, faintly pulling you towards none other than gojo satoru.
tentatively, you lean down, a hand reaching over to gently shake his shoulder. the overwhelming stench of liquor invades your nostrils, but you resist the urge to withdraw, your concern winning over. “you alive, gojo?”
“…it's satoru,” he groggily mumbles.
sighing, you drag a bar stool to sit beside him, observing the uncharacteristically disheveled male. the sight is so bizarre that it makes you audibly laugh in disbelief, and you're tempted to snap a picture for blackmail purposes—he deserves it, you think. just because it's him. what the hell happened to the suave, well-groomed, overly confident sorcerer that you know? the man with very little to no apparent weaknesses at all?
even the strongest has his moments, i guess. if you recall correctly, this might be the first time you've seen him so openly vulnerable. you try to will away the strange sputtering in your chest.
tugging at his wrinkled sleeve, you urge, “look at me.”
no response.
the drinks you've consumed earlier are now starting to take effect, a light headache incoming as you try to think of what you should do. you count one, two, three, before a haunting realization comes to you, making you grab a fistful of his snowy tufts and forcefully gripping it upwards. his eyelids twitch, adjusting to the light after previously being closed shut. when he finally opens them, your breath gets caught in your throat—his once brilliant azure eyes are now a bland gray, with a hint of red rimming the outline.
“gojo?! christ, snap out of it! why can i touch you?”
somehow, the fucker still manages to smirk.
“why not? you've never complained about it before, so why start n— you let go of his hair, letting his forehead slam back on the counter with a dull thud. he makes a dissatisfied noise, whiny and drawn out, before groaning, “who do you think i am? i can sense your presence way before you came here—my infinity wasn't off this whole time. and again, that's satoru for you.”
that gave you little reassurance, unsure whether or not to fully believe him—especially in this sorry state. despite his devilishly good looks and capabilities, gojo satoru is lame, a menace, and acts like a fool most of the time; but even you know that's a ruse. right now, there's no silly antics, no mask to hide behind, no façade to protect himself. even his fancy sunglasses are long forgotten on the ground below him.
“care to share what's on your mind, my dear friend?”
the seemingly disoriented colleague of yours adjusts his head so he can face you, still leaning against the dirty wood as his lips pull into a pout. “your dear friend, huh…”
“what was that?”
“nothing,” he then sits back up, his voice back to a normal volume. “so? wanna take a shot with me?”
you try your best to refrain from grabbing him by the hair again and slamming his head downward, on purpose this time. “you already drank a whole bottle back at the izakaya, and even that's pushing it. what's with you?”
his glassy, bloodshot eyes regard your stressed expression for a moment before he turns away, opting to stare at shelves of alcohol displays in front of him. “do you remember how megumi acted the first time he met you?”
…of course he'd ignore your question. having a conversation with someone like gojo will never be as clear-cut as you’d like it to be.
still, you decide to entertain him; it is a nice memory after all. fushiguro megumi, one of your students, who is also the little kid whose sister you coincidentally saved from a near death experience many years ago. little megumi came up to you after learning what happened, his head bowed low as he muttered his sincerest thanks in a small, quivering voice. you had kneeled down to his eye level, assured him not to worry about it, but he refused to look up, nor to even budge an inch. then as a joke, you told him to give you a nice big hug if he wanted to thank you more, and he complied, much to you and (especially) gojo’s surprise.
“mhm. didn't know you were the sentimental kind. is that why you refuse to get drunk?” you tease.
“whatever. i've been taking care of that brat for over ten years now, and he's never given me any kind of gratitude or affection whatsoever.”
“...have you ever thought that maybe it's because you have a personality issue?”
“that's not the point!” he whips his head to you, glaring at you with such venom that you can't help but grin widely. he immediately stops scowling at your reaction, maintaining eye contact for a few seconds before he averts his gaze once again. “i… understand him, is all i’m saying.”
“you ditched the group and went all the way here, alone, just to reminisce about the past? you truly never change, huh? you're still as dramatic as ever.”
“disrespectful little sh–” and he's back to glaring at you with a subtle sneer. “why'd you even come here?”
“first: you can't call me that, i'm older than you,” you click your tongue. “second: why not? are you telling me to leave or what?”
“no, seriously. why?” gojo repeats.
at this, your brows crease together. why what? “because i was concerned?”
“why…” he sinks further into the counter, head in between his crossed arms, much like how he had looked when you first walked in.
“i don’t get what you're trying to… are you asking me why i’m concerned? well, why wouldn't i be? it's not like we're not friends outside of work. of course i’d—wait, where are you going?”
you quickly hop off the stool when the tall sorcerer abruptly stands up, now briskly walking away and heading towards the exit. you call him a couple more times but he doesn't bother to look back, and you resort to nearly running to be able to keep up with his freakishly long legs. right before he rounds the corner of the street, you harshly pull his wrist; at the contact, he jerks his head back, dull gray eyes flashing angrily.
“is that all you see me as?” he yells, his voice echoing through the dark, empty street. you’re taken aback by the harshness of his tone, letting go of his wrist in surprise. “tell me no. lie to me at this point. did all our nights spent together mean nothing at all? i was just a quick fix for you, wasn't i?” the volume of his voice raises even higher, and you frantically wave your hands at him to stop.
“no, that's not true! i—” now you understand why he's been drinking irresponsibly. fuck. if you knew this is how it’d end up, then you wouldn't have started anything with him in the first place. you don't regret anything, but is it really worth ruining your precious friendship? all the years of your youth shared together has now gone down the drain, all because of a couple of drunken nights?
“—then why don't you look at me the same way as you do with nanami?” he says, and your stomach drops. one look at your shocked expression and gojo already knows. he knows, yet he needs one last confirmation that comes directly from your mouth, no matter how excruciating it is. “tell me i’m wrong.”
“i’m sorry, go–”
“it’s satoru, damn it.” this time, he doesn't scream his words, nor does he ball his fists so tight that his knuckles blanch. instead, what comes out is merely a quiet, trembling whisper.
you wince at the sheer amount of emotion behind his words, the feeling of guilt heavy on your shoulders.
“listen to me, satoru. there's nothing going on with me and nanami. and what you and i both have– had, is in the past now. you know why we can't be together, right? i can't leave my dear students behind.” the two of you are well aware of that predicament; you and him can never have a real relationship, unless you're willing to risk relocation to kyoto prefecture.
would you really do that for someone you're not even 100% sure you're in love with?
“then stop pretending to care about me. stop doing all this like you mean it,” the white-haired male spits out. you look down, a hand reaching in your pocket for the discarded sunglasses you've picked up earlier, gently placing the pitch black lenses over gojo’s face.
you want to say it's for his sake, but truthfully, you just can't bear to look him in the eyes anymore.
“but that's the thing; i do care about you. and i never stopped caring about you. you're such a great person, satoru,” you assure him with a much softer tone. before you know it, you're reaching towards his face—however, as soon as you made contact, your palm seems to burn from realization (of him further misunderstanding your actions? of you knowing your place?), making you quickly retract your fingers.
you pretend you don't see him chasing after your touch.
“please believe me when i say this,” you continue. “you deserve someone who's just as kind as you, someone who actually deserves your love, and i’m not that person—”
“kiss me.” you nearly lose your balance as he suddenly places his hands on your hips, pulling you close to him, his voice breaking as he pleads. you're glad you can't see his eyes anymore—it might shatter your already fragile resolve even more. “i don't care. i don't care if you're not the right person, or if you think you're undeserving of my love. none of that has ever mattered to me. so please, kiss me. just one more time.”
huffs of your breaths mix together, faint white clouds forming in the chilly night. your heart shivers with anticipation as your gaze lingers on his soft, familiar lips for a moment too long.
one,
two,
three.
“…i can't. i'm sorry, gojo.”
for being the strongest sorcerer alive, he’s undeniably and pathetically weak when it comes to you. for being the strongest, he can't even snap that thin, flimsy cord, unable to sever that invisible string that ties you both together.
gojo hates drinking, but he would down glass after glass until his body gives up before his mind does. he absolutely hates drinking, but he hates uncertainty and loss of control even more.

"Better Late Than Never" Part 13
Father-son bonding time (Ghost learns about cars from Price)
Soap sat in one of the garages on their base, playing with some cables and trying to appear as small and unimportant as he could so no one bats an eye at the fact that he is once again playing with explosives.
He was ready to connect the final wires when suddenly he heard someone calling for him. He hid the small bomb behind his back, as he stood up. He prayed for his creation to not blow up in his hands, surrounded by cars full of flammable fuel.
"Mactavish!" A man who Soap knew was a lieutenant of a different Task Force situated at their base came up to him. "You are an engineer, right?"
Soap's brows furrowed. "Well... I-"
"My mechanic is indisposed and I need that car-" He gestured to a truck behind him. "-working by tomorrow. Is that clear sergeant?"
"I'm n-"
"Good." The man interrupted him once again. Soap had to take a deep breath and count to ten. "I will check on your job later." After that, he was gone.
Soap stood still for a few seconds, making sure that the officer wasn't in his earshot anymore- then he carefully placed the unfinished explosive in his bag.
"What a fucking prick!" Soap shouted frustrated causing a few other soldiers in the garage to look at him. He looked at the car he was supposed to fix. "Ah am not a fucking car engineer..."
And that was a problem because he had no idea how to fix a car, that asshole didn't even tell him what needed fixing. He walked up to the truck and kicked one of its tires- which he regretted as pain struck through his foot. He grabbed his leg trying to collect himself before checking out the car.
"Ok.. let's see." He muttered to himself. Soap walked around the car, searching for something obvious- like a flat tire. Something he could figure out how to fix quite easily. Sadly he didn't spot anything so he got inside the car and tried to start it.
He twisted the keys that were already in the ignition.
Nothing.
He tried again... and
Nothing.
He put his head on the wheel- it meant that the problem was probably not easy to fix. He already can't wait for the lieutenant to come back and be pissy about the job not being done, but it's not like it was his fault. He would fix it- if it was a bomb that he was supposed to fix. That's what you get when you are disrespectful to others and interrupt them, ordering them around.
"What are you doing, Johnny?"
Soap was startled when he heard a familiar voice right next to him. "Ye should start sprotin' collar with a bell, sae ye can't sneak up on people lik' that. Someone will die o' heart attack, ye will see." Soap poked at Ghost's chest.
Ghost blushed under his mask- for some reason. For some reason thinking way too much about the idea of a collar around his neck... for some reason.
He was thankful for the material on his face.
"So you have a casual mental breakdown in the car or...." Ghost leaned on the car's mask, as Soap got out of the truck.
"Permission to complain about a certain officer, Lt?"
"As long as this certain officer is not me, I am listening." He crossed his arms.
Soap took a final look around to make sure that twat wasn't anywhere near. "This one lieutenant, from the other Task Force."
"Hill?"
"Yeah, that fucker!"
Ghost put a finger to his covered lips, letting Soap know that he really shouldn't be so loud about his... aversion to the other man. Soap simmered down a little.
"What about him, Soap?"
"He comes up to me, in my free time and orders me to fix that damn car. I tried to tell him I am not an engineer, but he just kept interrupting me. So now here I am trying to fix that piece of trash."
"You are an engineer."
"Explosives engineer. If he wants me to turn the engine into a nuke I sure can."
Ghost smirked. "I don't doubt that." He also kinda wished that Soap did that, because he will have to have a talk with that man about respecting your subordinates. "What were you doing here either way? I searched for you."
He searched for him.
"Soap?"
"Nothin'" Soap eyed the bag in which rested the unwired bomb. Ghost followed his gaze.
"Price will kill you, Johnny." The lieutenant shook his head, knowing damn well what was in the bag. It wasn't the first time.
Soap was ready to defend himself when Price appeared from nowhere. Speaking of the devil.
"Why will I have to kill him?" The captain questioned as he approached them.
"Uhh... I- well-" Soap stumbled over his words, scratching his neck nervously.
"He is just behind on the reports from our recent mission, but I will make sure he will finish them today..." Ghost looked at Soap from the corner of his eye. "Right, Soap?"
"Yes, sir." And people said that Ghost didn't have a heart covering for Soap like that.
"Well, then why are you here instead of working, sergeant?" He put his hands on his hips.
"I have to fix that car, lieutenants Hill order." Soap huffed.
"And he doesn't know how." Finished Ghost.
Price rolled his eyes. "You just have to jump-start this junk. Happens all the time. Help him Ghost."
Ghost narrowed his eyes at Price. "I don't know how to do that."
Soap chuckled. "Finally something Ghost can't do."
"It's not like you can do that either."
"Stop bickering you two, I have enough of that on coms." He sighed. "Come on, get me the booster cables. I will teach you."
***
"So first you have to connect the red cable to the plus on the dead car's battery, you do the same to a working car." Price gave the red cable to Ghost. "Do what I said."
They were now all standing on either side of Price, listening to him as he showed them how to restart the car's battery.
"Ahh... I think mah pa tried to teach me this once when I was a kid. I wasn't too interested in it though." Soap said as he watched how Ghost connects the cars.
"Well, mine sure as hell didn't." Ghost mumbled under his nose. He has no idea why he said that, recently things were just slipping out of him. Especially around Soap, but also around the rest of his Task Force.
He could feel Soap's sad puppy eyes on him and Price stopped in his tracks. Ghost felt a hand squeezing his shoulder.
"That's why now you have me, son." Price stated-like it was the most obvious thing.
Why were Ghost's eyes suddenly a little wet? It was nice- nice to hear.
"Come on, now take the black cable and connect it to the minus on the working car..."
***
As Price and Ghost were working- Soap stepped back, letting Ghost spend some time alone with the older man. He leaned on a tool cabinet and admired the scene before him- Price explaining to Ghost every part under the car's mask, even though they got it working some time ago.
Price was determined to teach him everything and while to everyone around Ghost might have looked just like always- simply listening to his captain. Soap saw how Simon rubbed his gloved hands over his jeans, he learned it was a little happy stim of his. It showed how truly happy it made Simon to share this moment with Price.
At some point Gaz showed up, standing right next to Soap- he also observed as the pair of men worked around the truck.
"He looks happier you know? Happier than when I first met him." Said Kyle with a subtle smile.
+
Ghost totally looked at Lieutenant Hills with daggers in his eyes, because no one gets to talk like that to his sergeant, to his Johnny.
Hi guys! I got this prompt from my favourite Discord server <3 I hope you like it, and forgive me for any inaccuracies. I know nothing about cars or the military for that meter. Just here to have fun.

Work Shit
I hate these fucking idiots.
Around a year ago, coworker found out she was going to become a first-time grandmother. The baby's due date was in March. At our job, if you want to take a vacation, you have to put it in before the end of February. You can still attempt to take one afterward, but the ones pre-booked take priority.
I told coworker she should take a vacation around the due date so she could potentially be there for the birth or the week after. Her son lives in Charlottesville, y'all remember the right-wing fucks with the tiki torches? He lives down there. It's about a two hour drive.
She says she doesn't want to take a vacation then. Okay, so I'm like, when are you gonna go see? She says she'll take a weekend off and go see eventually. Her first vacation isn't until May. This is before the end of February. She can still put in if she wants.
The baby was born two days after my birthday. She doesn't take a weekend off to visit until April.
SHE BITCHES, WHINES AND COMPLAINS EVERYDAY ABOUT HOW SHE CAN'T SEE HER GRANDCHILD, IT'S SO UNFAIR.
I am done with her at this point. She always makes herself the fucking victim.
I hurt my back in February. I mean, I have never been in so much pain. I was never a regular weed smoker until the pandemic. This year, I had to be. I think I tore something in my sleep.
The pain went away the week she took that vacation, but I just got my full mobility back this month.
I have been injured all this year and still worked circles around this woman. I have been crying my eyes out at work over my nephew all this year, and I still work circles around her.
So her vacation week comes, this is the week I finally feel better, still in pain, but better. Before she leaves, she tells me she'll probably call out her first day back so she can spend an extra day with the baby. I'm like, cool, enjoy it.
It's a hectic week, and I'm by myself, in pain most of the time. She calls out Sunday like she told me. She's off Monday, and I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday.
When I see her on Thursday, I ask how the baby was doing.
She didn't go, she just had a staycation. THEN WHY THE FUCK DID YOU CALL OUT SUNDAY?
I have called out once this year. There was a point this summer where she called out multiple times multiple weeks in a row. I would get to work in pain, say I'll only work a few hours and leave. Get there, only for her ass to call out, forcing me to work the full shift.
This is long as shit, but fuck it.
You know the wise man clever man example I use? When the wise man fucks up, he learns from his mistakes. That's where his wisdom comes from. The clever man uses all of his wisdom and energy to avoid having to learn the lesson being taught.
Her and a bunch of these fuckers literally make the exact same mistakes everyday. What I notice now is that for coworker, she knows she makes mistakes. But instead of trying to find the issue in her process that causes the fuck up. She spends all of her energy covering over mistakes.
Mistakeception if you will. Inventory is at the end of the month. She's going to fail it.
My overstock:
Since it's football season, we are getting a bunch of extra pizzas. Without those pizzas I'd just have one.
Her overstock:
Ignore that wall in the back. That's not hers.
We both only have one aisle. My aisle looks perfect. Her aisle is empty.
How is it empty when she has all that shit in the back? She never fixed her product number in the ordering system.
Look at my shit. She's still complaining about how horrible this ordering system is. At no point does it dawn on her that I'm not having an issue.
Look at this shit.
She loves to talk shit about the autistic ex roommate and how messy he was.
Once again, this autistic mother fucker works circles around her.
She has to count that for inventory. It's all gonna fall the moment she attempts to move it.
I'd talk about Rape coworker, but he's seriously trying to lose his job. He has no computer skills, he has nothing. If he loses this, he's cooked.

List of the reason why I should not stay...
He's definitely a Narcissist
A Nonchalant
No emotional intelligence
Has an anger issue
Impatient like %100000000
Low on critical thinking
Very indecisive
Never wanting to talk out the problem so we can have a solution. Isolation is always the solution.
Whenever I try to talk about things I am uncomfortable with what he's, doing he felt attacked. He thinks my purpose on doing that is to start i fight.
Don't have any idea how to give assurance. When I mentioned something bothering me and other girls are involved he will always feel that I am creating issue and will scare me that he will just do cheat on me so he can prove me right instead of reassuring me that he's not doing anything I should not worry.
He is doing things he know will hurt me.
He is making decision without considering my feelings.
He always leaving me alone whenever he gets mad.
He always let his friends disrespect me in front of others by telling a story about his past and will definitely mention some other girls that he used to go out with. Worst is I never heard him telling them to stop because I'm actually there.
I am not allowed to get mad even he did me wrong because ITS ALWAYS MY FAULT. ALWAYS.
He never makes me feel that he is proud and happy that I am with him.
He call me like a I'm one of his friends no call sign. He hates me calling him baby in public.
He easily get mad when our dog did something bad and immediately he will hit it like the animal can understand everything.
A not so appreciative
He is giving heart reacts to some other girls' photo on social media and cant even like my post and picture. One time a saw him scroll so fast over my photos like my face isn't that familiar for him. Doesn't even give a glance on it. What a fucking asshole.
He is not even hesitate to correct me in public.
Instead of speak to me calmly about things he doesn't want me to do, he will talk to me like a mad man and scare me on the things he might do to me when I did it again.
I'm not allowed to complain on why I'm always doing everything and he is just right there giving instructions. If I complained about it he will scare and will ask me if I want him to mention everything he help me to survive.
He is never proud of having me. Yes he posted me once, but that never happened again. Maybe this fucker is afraid that his exes might see me and him having a long term relationship and they will not come back to him once we broke up. HAHAHA I'll tell you once I'm out and those bitches know how long we've been living together, I know to my bones I'm going to be the problem in their relationship even I'm not doing anything. SAY SIKES!
No enthusiasm to find a job. I was the one who is preparing and sending his applications. What a child.
He already decided that he will not leave his parent's house, even he'll have his own family. Again, what a child.
Letting me to do all the chores. He doesn't have initiative to do it if I'm not involve or I didn't tell him to do it.
Don't have any idea how to be a man of the house. Cant even change a gas tank.
Its hard to deal with him whenever we are outside. Simple things might trigger him and he will became hulk like literally he can ruin everything in one snap.
When he is mad he doesn't care even you suffer. ASSHOLE.
(I do have lot more... brb)

Side Quest Chapter 11: It’s Absolutely Pirates
“Himi! Quit flirtin’ and get over here!” Van shouted across the plaza after his venture into Hawker’s Alley had completed. Himi squeaked as her face turned a bright shade of crimson and whirled around to flash Van a rude gesture. Ffion let out a boisterous laugh, pinching Himi’s cheek which made the blushing all the more worse.
“Look at ye! Face as red as Limsa’s colours!” She howled. “Ye traipsing into the Sastasha Seagrot, aye? Mind if I join ye?”
“I don’t mind; doesn’t hurt to ask the others first though.”
“HIMI.”
“I’M. COMING. YOU. IMPATIENT FUCKER.” She hollered, flipping Van off a second time. She couldn’t see he was getting entertainment from teasing her, and wasn’t actually mad.
He gave the former-captain a curious look as they approached, flicking is tail as he shot a glance at Himi.
“Van, I thought maybe since your leg is giving you trouble, that I’d bring a friend along, just in case there ARE pirates. That all right?” She scrunched her nose, expecting more harassment.
“Not a bad idea.” He hummed, noting Ffion’s daggers. “Never hurts to have a sister ‘round.” He gave her an approving wink. No one offered an explanation to Resin or Tamru. Ffion simply bowed as if he had said nothing about sisters.
“Pleasure to meet ye all, ye can call me Ffion.” She gave the group a good look. “Any of you able to heal? Or should I stock up on potions?” She grinned, using the top of Himi’s head as an armrest. Himi sputtered, but didn’t move or complain.
“I’m trained in basic healing.” Resin nodded. “I’m in the middle of learning Thaumaturge magic, but I can handle any minor injuries if they happen at all.”
“Yes; Himi has her job stone back, so she may make such quick work of anything, regardless.” Tamru mused.
“Har har.”
“Can we go?” Van flicked his tail again. “Walk and talk. Walk and talk.” He grumbled, motioning for everyone to head towards the docks.
And the world doesn’t freeze.
“If only we had something other than... stale crackers to chew on.” Nero sighed whimsically, holding one up to the light. His lips were pulled into an exaggerated pout as he inspected the pale excuse for nourishment. He tossed a sideways glance at Gaius, who was more focused on the report in his hands than the food in front of him. Though truly, calling it food implied it was nutritious and edible, and gave it far more credit than what it was worth. Gaius didn’t respond to Nero’s bellyaching even if he secretly agreed. Nero, undeterred, sighed loudly as he dropped the cracker onto his plate. “When are provisions being re-supplied again?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Truly? Pity.”
“You never cared before; so out with it. Why are you mewling for my attention so?” Gaius lowered the paperwork to give Nero a tired stare. Nero, of course, perked right up in his seat.
“So I’ve done a little snooping and-“
“If this is about the Populares Woman...”
“I assure you, my Lord, you want to hear this.” There was a mischievous glint in Nero’s eye. Gaius gave him a shrewd look, but eventually relented. Motioning with a hand for Nero to continue. “Despite records indicating a sizable family, no one has ever seen them in the same place in the same moment. Not once! Not once in at least fifty years; though I’m unsure if the past five truly count, but the fact remains that it’s only the women who have ever been observed in public, only one at a time, and not a SINGLE male family member has been seen. Not in public, not in private.”
“Sounds like an elaborate cover, then.” Gaius hummed, rubbing his chin. “But that is his Radiance’s business, and not ours. In fact, I question how you came about all this?” He raised an eyebrow.
“WELL you know what they say about loose lips. Emperor’s business she may be, but that doesn’t stop the populus and lower ranks from whispering in the shadows about what they’ve noticed.” he hummed, rapping his knuckles on the table. A proud smirk spread across his lips. “And I am very good at asking the right questions and listening to what’s not said.”
“And what, exactly, do you plan to do with this knowledge? And why tell me?”
“Apologies! I thought you curious about her, my Lord.” Gaius gave Nero a look, sighing as he picked up the report again to hide his face.
“Unless you think you know who she is, or if she is a viable threat, I desire to hear no more of this.” He grumbled, his curiosity even more piqued. Even if he was loath to admit it.
“Oh, I think I do; and I have another theory... I want to test. Buuuut.”
“Is this your roundabout way of asking my permission to do something? Get on with it.” Nero grinned wide, scooting his chair closer to Gaius before leaning forward. He whispered a few things and immediately had Gaius’s full attention. The report was abandoned onto the tabletop once more, as Gaius steepled his fingers, listening intensely to Nero’s theory and proposal. What neither of them could see, was that a white robed Ascian was listening in on their conversation. He tapped his chin, less worried and more... curious. Wondering how, if at all, he should intervene. Perhaps ‘twould be pertinent to observe her first, before deciding.
She was incredibly easy to find, ironically. He watched from the shadows, amused by her slogging across the slippery rocks, wringing out her hair. The bodies of pirates and Sahagin lay scattered about the cave floor. Himi glanced at the bodies, internalizing her regret. She’d much prefer her usual method of sleeping everything, but in this instance not only was it dangerous to do so as again, as she was not unsundered Hypnos, with everyone watching and already suspicious… She huffed, more upset that she didn’t think to teleport them into a cell much earlier.
“Siren’s piss!” Ffion laughed, clapping her hands. “If we had an army of ye, Himi, Eorzea would be ushered into a new golden age! Shit, we almost didn’t need to come, ye killed everythin’ so fast.” She whistled. “Maybe when this lot stops bein’ lazy and starts helpin’ ye, they can be just as good as ye one day!” She patted Resin and Tamru’s shoulders.
“I suppose we overdid it with the observing.” Tamru hummed, not looking even the least bit guilty.
“You think?” Himi grumbled, as she continued to wring the sea water out of her hair. She kept her back to the ocean, pretending it wasn’t there. “I might be stronger, but I can still get overwhelmed by sheer numbers!” Giving up on her hair, she rejoined the others and crossed her arms. “And then fucking what? If I get knocked out because thirty or so dinkbags overpowered me, do you all think you can handle them?”
“Ermmn...no. Definitely no.” Resin sheepishly grinned.
“Don’t worry dove, bet it’ll take more n’that to knock ye down! Hells hath no fury, as they say.” She winked as she headed for the exit, giving Himi’s rump a playful slap when she walked by. Himi squeaked, face turning bright red for what was probably the hundredth time in an hour. Resin and Tamru cackled after exchanging glances. Van’s ears perked in amusement despite his effort to look apathetic.
“A friend, hm?”
“GODS I have known her five minutes less than Thancred, yes, just a friend.”
“So Thancred stands a better chance, then?” Van quirked an amused eyebrow as Resin, albeit briefly, looked disappointed.
“NO. That’s not what I mean by that!” She squeaked, puffing out her cheeks. “Cheeky... fucking bastards.” She grumbled, stomping off after Ffion.
So flustered she was, that the white robed Ascian almost went unseen. Ffion clearly hadn’t noticed him, but Himi certainly did. At first, she wondered who he was and why Ffion had said naught. Were his robes white instead of black because he was... friendly? She blinked, as she saw him smile. Another blink, and he’d put his fingers to his lips. A third blink, and his voiceless words sent a chill through her body. Her senses flooded with the deep smell of low tide and a heaviness that plunged her heart into her stomach.
He was gone when Van looked; everyone other than Himi remained blissfully unaware that Elidibus was just there.
“Himi, you alright?” Van called out to her, noticing her shift in demeanor. Her lips wibbled, and she sputtered sounds that could have possibly been a different language, but it wasn’t one Van recognized. “I’ll take that as a no. FFION!” He called out, and the newly minted Rogue came running back.
“What’s up-, oi! Himi! Dove! Ye alright?”
Her eyes darted everywhere as she shivered and cowered as if surrounded by threats in every direction. Cold, angry voices badgered her and only her. Van felt as though something was off; Resin and Tamru’s Echo’s were itching but didn’t fully kick in. Ffion dared to put her hands on Himi’s shoulders as she hyperventilated.
“Dove can ye hear me? Nod if ye can.” She couldn’t tell if Himi nodded in acknowledgement or not. Ffion bit on her lower lip, contemplating her options. “Resin, Tamru! Go report in about our success here, say nothin’ bout Himi.” She ordered, easily slipping into the role of Captain. “Van, teleport back to Limsa with me; takin her with us, o’course. I think you know where.” Van nodded. “You two- when ye done reportin’ in. Wait fer us in the Inn. If they drop any more missions on ye, accept ‘em but stall by pretendin’ yer gettin’ supplies in Hawker’s alley. Ye all know what to do, now git!”
Ffion cursed when she rushed into the Rogue’s guild and Jacke wasn’t there. For better or for worse, the room was mostly empty, save for Underfoot; who looked like he was about ready to leave, and V’kebbe, who was chomping away on her sandwich.
“What’s all the fuss?” She quirked an ear, nearly choking when she spotted Van. “Bloody hell, that you X’vanet?” Her jaw dropped.
“Maybe. Where’s Jacke?”
“Out takin’ care o’business.” Underfoot glanced up at Ffion, who by now was carrying Himi. “MMMN. Guessin’ this might be more important.” He flinched. “Hang on, I know where he is. Take her up, V’kebbe, can ye make sure no one other than Jacke is allowed in?”
“‘Course!” She nodded, polishing off her food before leading the other three upstairs.
She was an absolute wreck when Jacke burst into the room. Almost looking completely deranged, her hair still drenched from the earlier excursion. Although a little more calm than she was in the cave, she still paced and fretted, muttering a mix of an unrecognized language and code-speak.
“What happened?” He looked to Ffion and Van for answers; they took turns explaining the situation, glancing occasionally at Himi who seemed lost in her own world. Jacke hummed, rubbing his chin as the details rolled around in his head. “Now the rum-dutchess patters riddles.” He mused. “Ey, dove. Can ye hear me, at least?” He calmly approached. Her attention snapped to Jacke when she recognized his voice.
“LEADER. You’re a leader!” She closed the gap between them and frantically gripped his shirt.
“Aye; I’m the guild master.” He tilted his head as he gently grabbed her wrists to pull her off.
“A leader, I need to tell a leader!” She insisted. “Tongue tied otherwise!” She grabbed his shirt again. Jacke gave her a stern look, but nodded to indicate he understood.
“Ffion, X’vanet, mind leavin’ the two o’us? Actually, Ffion, can ye call-“
“Done and done!” She nodded, opening the door for Van as he hobbled out, no questions asked. Jacke waited a moment before returning his attention back to Himi.
“Now. What d’ye need to tell me, dove?” He felt as though what she needed to tell him differed vastly from whatever had her upset to begin with.
As if injected with energy, Himi released his shirt and bounced excitedly around the room. It reminded him of her burst of energy the night they had found her.
“I remembered what I had been doing! But not the lead up to it, sorry, workin’ on that.” She flinched before continuing, not taking a single breath as she rambled on. “Caught wind of some sort’ve secret lab hidden in the remains of a coastal town. Was told the Empire might be involved so I snuck in to check. FOUND the lab hidden underground a bit, least I THINK I was underground, anyways, and there were definitely Empire soldiers prowling about. And I saw, people! Regular people! Either being sold to the Empire or at the very least they were being compensated for their ‘haul’. Either way, they weren’t conscripts or escapees, they were definitely being paid for.” She paused, wilting a little. “Wanted to help, couldn’t help, too many soldiers! S..so...so many soldiers.” She dropped to her hands and knees, exhausted. “I... I’m so sorry... there were... too many... I couldn’t.. I couldn’t help... they might not even be there anymore.” Himi pushed herself up and sat on her knees, burying her face in her hands. Jacke wondered why the other two couldn’t have heard this for only a second, as his rage over hearing about the pocket of human trafficking victims that’d somehow gone unnoticed. Was she lying, could this be an elaborate trap? She seemed sincere as she lamented her failure, sobbing heavily.
“Hey hey, dove! Dry those peepers o’yers!” He knelt next to her, putting a firm hand on her shoulder. “Even the best o’us can’t always solve a problem on their own. We’ll get those bloody bastards, ye hear? We’ll get those flithy, bloodsucking curs and strin’ ‘em up fer all t’see.” He hummed. “S’why ye needed t’get to Limsa, innit? I’m wagerin ye tried to teleport in the middle o’combat and missed the plaza somehow.” He scratched his head, unsure if that was at all plausible, but for lack of any other explanation, it would have to do. He turned his head towards the door, as Thancred hastily entered.
“Is aught amiss?” He shut the door before anyone else could and enter and rushed to Himi’s other side.
“Well, it’s confirmed. Spyin’ ON the Empire, or at least, stumbled upon them.” Jacke furrowed his brow. “Caught the curs buyin’ other souls, right under our noses!” He spat. Thancred sneered, grumbling to himself.
“And when she tried to leave, they spotted her, I wager?” He narrowed his eyes. “Explains much.” But not everything. He offered Himi a sympathetic glance as her sobbing calmed and she rubbed her eyes. He tucked a strand hair behind her ear. “Chin up; we know now and I can assure you, the dutiful sisters will take care of the fiends!”
“But...but they know I saw them! And it’s been a couple of weeks at this point! What if all those people are dead, what if they’ve moved, what if-“
“We’ll deal with th’ what if’s once we get there.” Jacke reassured her. “But ye damn well believe this is bein’ handled before th' darkmans come.” A determined fire burned in his eyes, dark as his expression was. “Can ye point on a map whereabouts ye saw all this? No? S’fine, we’ve worked with less; no, I ain’t bringing ye with us. Ye’ve got other duties that be wantin yer attention.” Nor did he want to risk seeing her more upset if they did indeed, discover the bodies of the captured civilians. “I gotta get to barkin’ out orders. But ye take care, yeah?” He gave her shoulder one last squeeze before hustling out the door. jacke passed Elidibus, and was none the wiser.
“You did all you could.” Thancred smiled. “Let Jacke handle this; everyone else is waiting for you in the plaza.”
“What do I tell them?”
“Keep it simple, that you’re relatively fine now, and everything else is none of their business.” He placed a hand on her back. “Do you need a moment to catch your breath?” She nodded, and he nodded in return. “Alright, then I shall sit here with you till you’re good and ready to rejoin them.” He motioned to some chairs tucked in the corner. “Though, how about we move from the floor to something a bit more comfortable, hm?” She agreed, and allowed him to help her to her feet. As he guided her to the chairs, she eyed the door where Elidibus now stood. She opened her mouth to alert Thancred, but the hidden emissary suddenly appeared in front of her, putting a finger to her lips. Knowing full well that Thancred couldn’t see him, he smiled wide.
“Shhh… you see naught.” He stepped back, leaning against the wall, silently watching to ensure Himi said nothing he didn’t approve of.
Thancred stayed mostly out of sight as Himi later joined the other three in the plaza. They conversed for a minute or so, before heading out to whatever tasked called them next. Humming to himself, he slunk off to someplace quiet and private to make a call, but was immediately stopped by a white-haired Miqo’te giving him a stern look.
“Twice now, I find you in Limsa Lominsa when Ul’dah is where you should be.” She crossed her arms.
“Ah! I swear I have an excellent reason...”
“Not letting mysterious girls teleport away from you again, I trust?”
“No! No, I assure you I’ve not lost anyone else, and I SWEAR I was just about to return to Ul’dah once I’d called Minfilia.” He offered a sheepish grin. Y’shtola tilted her head, curious about his report. “I’m more than happy to fill you in before I call, but let us move elsewhere.”
“Alright.” Y’shtola flicked her tail. “Though next time, I would prefer you warn me when you’re about to pay a visit!”
“I will certainly do so from now on!” He chuckled nervously, leading her away from the plaza.
“Truly! Not a spy from the Empire, but one who worked against them? Oh, what a relief!” Minfilia sighed, placing a hand on her chest. Urianger listened, patiently awaiting the call to end though no less eager to hear the full update. “Yes, I understand... of course! Please, if our aid is required, we shall gladly grant it.” Minfilia eyed the broken Tupsimati hanging on the wall. “Yes, I agree. I will speak with him Anon. Keep an eye on her, still, will you? Yes, I still want to meet her. Pray, return to the Waking Sands as soon as you can. Take care, Thancred.” Minfilia collected her thoughts before addressing Urianger. “Well...” she sighed, relived. “I am happy to report that she is not of the Empire.” Her face dropped into a frown. “However; when she recalled her last scuffle with the Empire, she made no mention of Ascians. Thancred even asked her to be sure, but she was adamant that there weren’t any there.”
“Then there remaineth still, memories that escapeth her yet. Or she doth withhold the truth, perhaps out of fear.” He tapped his temple, mulling over the possibilities in his mind. “The lady doth not seemeth to realize the mask shard is absent from her person?”
“She does not. Or at the very least, she has not mentioned it missing to Thancred.”
“Then perhaps tis the former, and not the latter. I shall have mine own questions upon the hour of her arrival.”
“She has certainly run into them before. How else would the one Thancred helped her fight have her job stone?” Minfilia lowered her gaze, putting a hand on her chest. “Perhaps they are the true reason for her memory loss, and not her run in with the Empire.” She hummed.
“I suspect you are correct, my lady. Is there aught else you requireth of me?”
“No, that was everything! Thank you, Urianger.”
“By your leave!” He bowed deeply before leaving the solar. She smiled warmly and offered a wave as he exited, expression dropping into worry.
“I know she is not the enemy...” Minfilia mumbled out loud. “Yet I worry all the same.”

In which racer!kuroo is your roommate, and seems to only like it when you treat his wounds... (word count: 1.9k)
Ngl quite proud of this one!!
Warnings: 18+, a whole lot of swearing, a whole lot of blood, innuendos and implied nsfw, reader almost vomits (NOT from pregnancy chill, I know we're all scarred but its going to be just fine) and if you're squeamish perhaps skip the scene where reader stitches his wound?
Also bit of a disclaimer: I am in NO WAY a med student and literally all of my knowledge is from movies and other fics... so if you acc know what to do in this situation this may be a torturous for you :D
All due credits go to @aikk00 for this AMAZING fanart!!!!
I watch as my roommate enters the penthouse, once again scratched up and bleeding, covered in so much blood there is no possible way that it was all his- if it was he would not be standing.
I launch myself off the couch- where I was sitting for the past hour nervously waiting for his return- and slip my arm under his, supporting him as we inched towards the bathroom.
"I can do this by myself you know," he grumbles, his grimace revealing just how much pain he was actually in.
"Mhm, I'm sure you can. Just like you boiled that poor egg by yourself last week, hmm?" I say sarcastically, trying to keep my mind calm and clear, because oh my god it looks really bad this time...
"Oi, its not my fault it fuckin' exploded," he mutters, voice laden with pain.
"You put it in the microwave because 'the shitty water wasn't doing its job.' Of course it would explode," I say, gently seating him on the closed toilet seat and taking out my supplies that I unfortunately have become rather accustomed to using. He's made it a habit to get himself injured.
"Where's the injury?" I ask, setting down my half-empty bottle of antiseptic and box of bandages. He peels off his shirt, cringing at the pain it brought him as the fabric was stuck to the gash that went from his left pectoral down to the middle of his chest.
"Pissed off a bidder after winning a race, fucker took out a knife once he realised he couldn't beat me up," he huffs out, arrogance still lacing his tone even with sweat dripping down his brow as he leans the back of his head onto the tile wall behind him. His Adam's apple bobs down his bloodstained neck as he speaks, and I quickly look away, focusing on the injury at hand.
Not his blood soaked, but nevertheless well defined pectoral muscles, nor the abs that my hands occasionally brush up against and know how hard they really are, and definitely not the trail of black hairs that lead down, down, down...
"What's wrong, the view too hot to focus on the work at hand?" He asks suggestively, raising his pierced brow, even in this state.
I'm quick to reply, having gotten used to his flirtatious remarks from the second I moved into his penthouse, "nope can't even see the view from that massive head of yours. Not to mention your permanent bed head."
He huffs out a laugh, then proceeds to flinch from the pain it must have caused.
"Stop moving, idiot. You're going to exacerbate the cut!" I say, quickly grabbing a damp towel and beginning to clean up his abdomen, whilst simultaneously pressing another rag to his wound to stop the bleeding.
“At least you admit that there is a hot view,” he says in his low voice, gazing at me from his position.
I simply roll my eyes.
No falling in love. That was the deal we had made on the day he offered me a place to stay in exchange for my services as a maid and apparently, a nurse. I cook, clean and basically keep the house running while this moron goes out and acts like the idiot he is. In my defense, dorms are expensive as hell, and his penthouse is nearby. Plus, I don't have to pay rent. It's a win-win situation.
But the feelings stirring up inside my heart might just ruin the dynamic we have going on and simultaneously take out a whole lot of cash out of my pocket.
At least, that's what I keep telling myself.
Once his skin isn't completely saturated in blood, and the wound has (thankfully) stopped bleeding, I add some antiseptic onto a make-up pad and begin to dab at his wound, earning winces and slight grunts from the massive man.
"The cut looks deep, Kuroo. You need to go to the hospital," I say, worry lacing my tone as my eyebrows crease and earn yet another huffing laugh.
"Do you want me to rot in prison for the rest of my life?"
I roll my eyes at his response, deliberately dabbing just a little harder which earns me a yelp and an attempted glare in my direction.
"First off, illegal street racing won't send you to prison for your entire life, just for like, half a year. Second, this wound needs stitches, and believe it or not, I'm not a fucking licensed medic. In fact, the only experience I have is with you!" I say, immediately regretting my choice of words as I wait for his remark.
"That's what she said," He says, chuckling at his own innuendo.
I sigh in frustration, pouring more antiseptic to make sure there was no chance of infection from whatever grimy ass knife stabbed him, and beginning to gently scrub the wound with a soft towel, so as to make sure there was no debris left in there.
"You're gonna have ta do it," he mutters, his hazel eyes boring into mine.
"I- I can't Kuroo, you can't possibly think-"
"Fine. I'll do it. Go get me a needle and thread," he states, struggling but nevertheless, sitting upright on the red stained toilet.
I stare at Kuroo in disbelief as he utters these words. Was he dumber than I thought? Does he have some sort of head injury too?
I examine his face and all I come up with is unnerving determination. I exhale out of my nose sharply, "fine, dammit. I'll sew your fucking wound shut."
I am extremely handy with a sewing needle and thread, used to really be into embroidery back when I had the time so...it should be fine.
He just shrugs, leaning his head back against the tiles and closing his eyes.
"Fucking asshole. Can't believe I'm saving your damn life," I mutter, leaving the bathroom to dig through my wardrobe for my sewing box and taking out a gold silk thread that I was saving for a special project.
Well, I guess that will never happen.
"Hey, I found some silk thread. It's literally known for its strength and durability in high temperatures, so it should work like a charm!" I say, walking back into the blood stained bathroom and trying to psych myself up.
He grunts in response. I sigh as I begin with mopping up the excess blood and sanitising the needle and thread before chucking on gloves.
I wipe the antiseptic over the wound once more, and examine it carefully.
Well, if his condition worsens, I can always knock him out and call an ambulance...
I decide, screw it, and thread the needle, pretending it was just another embroidery project.
It's okay, it's okay, it's okay, I chant as I puncture his skin with the thin needle.
Kuroo gasps in pain, and I place a hand on his knee, telling him to suck it up and deal with it, half talking to him but also to myself.
To my surprise, he listens, stretching his head back once more and gritting his teeth.
"Don't do that, here put this in-between your teeth," I say, grabbing yet another towel and shoving it into his mouth.
He obeys as I continue to stitch. I feel my gag reflex kicking in as I think about how stitching skin feels as though I am stitching leather, it feels hard and tough while pushing the thin needle through.
Must hurt like a bitch.
Once I've completed my neat stitches down the wound, without vomiting, I tie it off as I would with any embroidery, and clean the area free of any remaining blood. After rubbing some antibacterial ointment over the gold stitches, I stick on a particularly large bandage over the wound and start tidying up.
"Thank you," Kuroo mutters, still seated on the toilet seat and practically panting for breath.
"Ah, the criminal knows his damn manners!! Now get up and get in the damn shower. You ruined my pristine bathroom!" I complain, putting the last of the materials away before walking to the door.
"Wait, I- I can't get up." I turn around and look at him incredulously as he utters his next few words, "will you... shower me?"
My eyes just about pop out of their sockets at his request. "Are you insane?! I'm not your mother, nor your wife! Call your pudding haired friend and tell him to come shower you!"
He shakes his head, a rare pleading look taking the place of his usual arrogant smirk, "Kenma's too lazy to shower himself, Y/n, please!"
I contemplated it for a moment. Sure, I've seen him naked before, accidentally of course, and so what if I have to scrub him clean. God knows he can't do it himself with that damn injury.
Fuck this shit.
"Fine, get up right now." I bark at him, leaving to change out of my blood soaked pjs into a pair of shorts and a tank.
"...I just said I can't."
---
"Ow, y/n, you're scrubbing too hard!" He complains, his exfoliating glove around my hand as I rub his toned back clean of any dead skin-cells and blood remains.
"But look how much stuff is coming off!" I say gleefully, enjoying this a little too much.
Kuroo, seated on the built-in bench in the open shower with his red boxers on, looks back to see the satisfaction dripping from my features.
"Are you secretly a sadist?" he whispers. In response, I begin to rinse off his raw back with hot water, causing him to screech like a cat.
"It burns, it burns-”
“Shut the fuck up, moron! It's 4 in the morning, you’re going to annoy our neighbours. I tried very hard to get in their good graces, and Mrs. Suzuki still doesn’t like me! She definitely thinks I’m some kind of hooker…” Kuroo laughs at this, and I can’t help but watch as his whole face brightens up from his usual emotionless expression. I find myself smiling in response.
I grab his expensive shampoo and pour some into my hands, beginning to massage it into his scalp. With wet hair, his raven strands are for once flat on his head and reach down to his defined jawline. Kuroo groans under my touch, leaning into my fingers. I snatch my hands back and pour hot water over his head.
"ARGH! Y/N!" He screams, hastily getting up and wetting me in the process.
"Ah- what are you-" I don't get to finish my question as he grabs my arm and yanks me next to him under the hot water, soaking my clothes and my hair.
"You asshole!" I screech as I reach up to pull his hair in defiance, but he only grabs my arm and hooks it around his neck, leaning down to look directly into my eyes.
Our noses brushing against one another, he mutters, "You look pretty with your hair wet and your shirt see through."
It takes me a moment to get past the compliment and to hear the perverted comment that he just uttered.
He sees my look of confusion and laughs, bends over, clutches his stomach and laughs, before bellowing in pain because of his injury.
Smiling smugly down at him as he grimaces, I force him to sit back down and continue massaging the shampoo into his hair, warning him that if he so much as moaned I would leave him in here, dripping wet and in pain.
"That's what he said," is his reply.
I smack his head in response.

late night calls
Summary: It all started with a phone call to the DEA office to tell Javier about the surgery of his father. You had insisted to take care of him after Chucho told you about the surgery. That you would fall in love with his son you had never met before? Just as surprising to you as it was to Javier.
Pairing: Javier Peña x F!Plus size reader
Wordcount: 4.1k+
Warnings: fluff, phone sex, mentions of bomb attacks, sexism, self doubt, yearning?
A/N: I know that probably more time passed between the bombing and Javier being send back to the states but I chose to ignore it. For the plot. Hope you enjoy it :)

You still weren’t used to the heat. Yes, you did move to Texas because you wanted a fresh start. But the fucking heat would take some time to get used to. Nothing was holding you back in Maine. You had spent the last years taking care of your sick mother. She had died just before Christmas and with her all the family you had left.
So coming with the new year you took a leap of faith, packed your things, and moved to a little town close to the Mexican border. You got a job at the local police station as a secretary that made a decent sum of money each month. Life was good. At least you told yourself so.
You had made a couple of friends. Mostly the older generation of the town. You weren’t big on going out, nor had the town a big nightlife in the first place. That’s why you insisted on taking care of Chucho after he told you one day at the diner that he had to get a hip replacement. His wife had died a long time ago and his son wasn’t able to leave work.
“Don’t you have some better stuff to do cariño?” He had asked.
“What better way to start your day than on your Farm, Senior Peña.” You had winked at him.
Chucho might have been a stubborn old man, but once he got out of surgery and was in pain he was thankful that he accepted your help. That was also the first time you heard him talk about his son. Javier.
“Be a dear and call him to tell him I’m okay?” He had mumbled before he dozed off again. You had chuckled, kissed his cheek before you left him for the day to went over to his farm. Once you had taken care of everything for the day you sat down on his kitchen island and grabbed the phone, dialing the first number he had written down.
You had suggested moving into his place in his recovery time. It was a beautiful place. Mexico was just on the other side of the river down the property. But the best part about this place was the air conditioning. Okay… You really loved this place and it definitely was an upgrade to the small apartment you were renting in the city.
Waiting for his son to pick up the phone you wondered what kind of job he would have that he wasn’t able to take care of his father. You didn’t judge him, okay maybe a little, you were more curious. You had seen some pictures of him spread through the house. But you had never asked about him.
“DEA Office, how may I help you?” A woman answered your call.
“Uhm… Is Javier Peña available? It’s about his father,” you tried.
“Oh of course. Agent Peña just got in. Please hold.”
Agent Peña? DEA? You had so many questions but they died on your tongue when the call connected again.
“This is Peña.” A deep voice said. He reminded you of his father.
“Hello Mr. Peña. I’m only calling to let you know that your father’s surgery went fine. He wanted me to forward this to you.”
“Javier, please. Not even my father likes to be called Mr. Peña.”
“Oh I noticed that,” you chuckled.
“He’s fine yeah?” You heard something shuffle on the other end of the line.
“Yeah. Already made some jokes and told me to make sure I feed the horses in the right order.”
“You’re taking care of the horses?”
“Yeah. I’m temporarily moving in to help your father.”
“That’s very nice of you. He never told me about you.”
“There’s not much to tell.” You got up and took out a bottle of water from the fridge. “I’m only here for the air conditioning.” You joked. He laughed.
“Fuck I miss air conditioning. Hold on.” You sat down again, hearing only damp voices.
“Fuck. I need to go. Please call me if something comes up. Dad has my home number too, right?” He was speaking quickly and you wondered what was happening.
“Yes, he wrote it down for me. Everything okay?”
“Yeah hopefully. Just some work stuff. Keep in touch, yeah?”
“Will do Javier.”
Chucho got home a week later and he was the worst at listening to doctors’ orders. You still had to go into the station to work, but you spend your whole time worrying about him. It was funny to you how he seemingly had become a father figure to you in less than a couple of weeks.
Of course you found him standing at the kitchen counter when you got to the ranch, the phone tugged between his shoulder and his ear, making himself a sandwich.
“Shouldn’t you be resting?” You asked, crossing your arms in front of your chest.
“I was. Then Javi called and I got hungry.”
“Stubborn old man,” you grumbled and he rolled his eyes.
“Come on, I brought dinner.”
“Fine. Here. Javi wants to say Hello,” he handed you the phone before he slowly trotted towards the couch. Shaking your head you put the phone to your ear.
“You are really strict with him,” Javier said.
“Someone has to. Are all you Peña men this stubborn?”
He chuckled. “You have no idea. How is he doing?”
“Overall good. Not complaining as much as in the beginning but then again I am bribing him with my delicious cooking.”
Javier and you had spoken to each other at least two times per week since the first time you called to tell him about his father’s surgery. You learned that he was a DEA agent on the hunt for Pablo Escobar. You learned that he was feeling guilty about not being there for his father and to take care of the ranch. You learned lots of things about Javier Peña.
“Ah... Delicious cooking. Maybe one day you get to cook for me?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” You teased, hearing him take a sip of his drink. Whiskey probably.
“Just that my father is praising your cooking so much I wonder if it really is that good.”
“Oh, it is, Peña.” You found yourself smiling. You heard him sigh.
“Everything’s okay over there?” You asked.
“Yeah,” he said too quickly. Definitely a lie. You nodded.
“You wanna stay on the phone while I prepare dinner?” you asked.
“Yeah,” he whispered.
The better Chucho got, the longer the phone calls between Javier and you seem to get. It was mostly at night after he got home from whatever he had been doing at work that day intending to check in on his father. But after a few sentences, he asked about your day. About how you felt. What your plans for the coming weekend were.
“You sound exhausted Hermosa,” he sighed. It had been a long day at work and all you wanted was to grab a pint of ice cream and drown your sorrows.
“Just the usual sexist bullshit at the PD,” you groaned.
“Want me to kill them?” Javier joked.
“You take care of your nemesis, I take care of mine. But I appreciate the help.” You sat down on your bed, knowing that this was usually the room he occupied when he was here to visit his father.
“Noted. But if it’s any help, I had a shit day too. They seem to get more frequent the longer I stay in this shithole.”
“Maybe you have to focus on the good things of being in this country. There have to be some. The food probably. I always enjoy new food. Maybe go to a museum? I don’t want to intrude but you don’t seem like you do anything besides work and well…”
It was pure accident that you had heard the voice of a woman one night when you had called him for a change. You knew that he looked good, you had seen the pictures, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to you, that he did have a girlfriend. He clarified that he didn’t, that this was just a woman he got intel from. You didn’t ask any more questions, it wasn’t your right. That it hurt to think of him and another woman was something you chose to ignore.
“I never thanked you,” Javier said. You let yourself fall back into bed, staring at the stars outside the window.
“What for?” you asked quietly.
“Thanking care of Dad and the ranch. Listening to my drunken ramblings. You’re a good friend,” he said. You smiled, a warm feeling spreading in your chest.
“You’re a good friend too, Javi.”
Chucho didn’t need anyone to take care of him. Not when he was back to his old health after a couple of months. But he had asked you to move in with him anyway. And you loved to live with the old man. Enjoying not being on your own all the time. And you loved helping him out at the ranch. The PD was still getting on your nerves and you were seriously considering just quitting.
“I hate it. I fucking hate it. I get one dumb line after another, just because I’m a woman. That I helped to get together the evidence to put that fucker away that killed all those women last year is not even of interest. FUCK!” you complained to Chucho. He knew about all of this already. Yet he jumped from his seat when he saw that you did cut yourself while making dinner.
“Careful.” He took your hand in his, leading you over to the sink to look at your wound. It didn’t hurt that much.
“What about if I take care of dinner today, and you go and take a bath? Javier is probably gonna call in a bit…” Chucho winked, putting a bandaid on your finger.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you frowned.
“Just that I see the way you smile every time my son calls.”
“Two whole days off? What are you gonna do with yourself?” You joked. You were laying in the bathtub, the phone in your hand as you talked to Javier.
“Don’t know. I feel like I need a home-cooked meal so I’m gonna nag Connie to cook one.”
You chuckled, crossing your legs.
“Is that water I hear?” he asked and you blushed. Why? You didn’t know. You had undressed numerous times while on the phone with him, but being completely naked and him knowing about it…
“I’m in the bathtub. Chucho’s orders. He’s making dinner before I kill myself doing it.”
You were met with silence.
“You okay, Javi?” You sucked your bottom lip in. “I did only cut my finger,” you joked.
“Just trying to get the picture of you naked in the bathtub out of my head.”
“You don’t even know what I look like.”
“Doesn’t matter. All I need is to hear your voice and I’m hard…”
“Javi…” you whispered, feeling hot all of the sudden.
“Will you tell me?” he asked.
“Tell you what?”
“If you think about me? Because you are on my mind all the time. I keep picturing how you look. If you have long hair or short hair. What color your eyes have. If your smile is only half as beautiful as your laugh. Fuck… I just wanna see you. I wanna feel you. I wanna taste you Hermosa.”
Unintentionally your unoccupied hand had made its way down your body, your breath coming in short pants.
“Keep talking Javier…” you whispered, your hand slipping in between your legs.
“I want to touch you. Fuck I bet your skin is so soft. I’d worship you. I stay up at night wondering if I could fit your boobs in my hands. What sound you would make when I close my mouth around your nipple…”
“Shit Javi…” You moaned.
“I wonder how you taste. Are you wet for me baby?” he asked and you heard a zipper being undone on his end of the line.
“So wet. You always make me wet. I touch myself when we get off the phone, wondering how it would feel to have you here…” you whimpered.
“I would have fucked you on every flat surface in the house if I was there. The thought of you sleeping in my bed is making me lose my mind.”
You circled your clit with your fingers, a low moan coming from your lips.
“I wonder how you feel wrapped around my cock. I wonder how you sound when I make you cum. I want to hear it so badly…” You were sure he was fucking his hand and you whimpered at the thought.
“I wish it was my hand wrapped around your big cock right now. God, I wish it was your hand between my legs and not mine…” You bit your lips, keeping yourself quiet.
“Put two fingers into that cunt and make yourself cum. I wanna hear you…” he groaned on the phone.
“Fuck Javi…” you cried quietly, two fingers inside your cunt. “I wish it was your cock and not my fingers.”
“Me too… Me too babe.” he moaned. “Circle that clit for me. Cum for me.”
Circling your clit you almost let the phone fall into the tub when you came with a low moan. You heard him cry out your name on the other end of the line before all that was heard was both of your heavy breathing.
“Javi…?” you asked after a while, still high from one of the best orgasms you ever had. You heard the familiar sound of him lighting a cigarette.
“I meant every single word Hermosa. I want you.” You never thought you would hear these words from him or any man for that matter. You weren’t a typical beauty. You weren’t skinny, you loved food and your curves showed it. On most days you were happy with the way you looked. But you also knew how Javier looked. He was an attractive man and you knew he did indeed have a new woman every other night if he felt like it. He might be interested now, but once he would meet you, there was no way he would make true to all the things he said.
“You’re quiet.” he noticed.
“Yeah. Just coming down from the best orgasm I’ve had in a while,” you joked and he sighed.
“I might not see you, but I know that you’re lying.”
“Okay, it was the best orgasm I ever had.”
“Hermosa…”
“I don’t want to talk about it. Just let me enjoy the illusion of a handsome DEA Agent being interested in little ol’ me.”
“I’ll make sure you believe that it isn’t an illusion until we do see each other.”
Months went by and by now you were pretty sure you were in love with Javier Peña. The phone bill was taking dimensions you were almost guilty about, but Chucho only smiled not taking your money, telling you to make his boy happy. Safe to say he approved.
You had told him about your insecurities and Javier made sure to tell you every time you talked to each other that it didn’t matter how you looked. He told you that you could be green and he’d still go down on you the first time he would meet you.
And you wanted to believe him, you really did. You had told him how you looked after he tried to talk you into sending pictures of yourself “with or without clothes, I don’t care. Though you can guess what I prefer.” he had teased. Javier never made a secret about how much he liked you. Enjoyed talking to you. He told you he had stopped sleeping around for god’s sake.
He was supposed to visit his father in a couple of weeks and the more time passed, the more nervous you became. You didn’t doubt that he meant every single word he said to you. It was years of being on the receiving end of jokes and being the ugly friend that automatically let you feel like you weren’t good enough.
The worst part was that you knew, deep down, that you were beautiful. You loved how you looked. But there still was this voice inside your head, telling you that you would never be good enough for anyone. That there was no way someone would ever fall in love with you.
It was a typical morning at work. You had your coffee and all the files you had to update. Javier had talked to you until you fell asleep, telling you that he felt like he was failing in taking Escobar down. He didn’t tell you much, not wanting you to worry or to risk someone listening, but you could tell that he was exhausted. “I fucked up, Hermosa. I really fucked up and I have no idea how to fix this,” were the words that he had whispered to you in the middle of the night.
You didn’t ask what he meant, just telling him that you’d be there for him, no matter what.
Typing as usual you stopped as the song on the radio was, interrupted by a news report of a bombing in Bogota, Colombia. You knew that there were bombings all the time over there, and Javier always assured you that he was perfectly fine. But with how he was last night, you had a bad feeling.
“Fuck. When are they going to stop that shit over there? If I was there I’d caught Escobar years ago,” one of the officers said. You closed your eyes, breathing in deeply.
“Isn’t Chucho’s son over there pretty face?” The officer stopped in front of your desk and you opened your eyes.
“Yeah he is,” you said.
“Maybe if he would know how to do his job, shit like that wouldn’t go down like that,” he grinned and you wanted to stop, but your hand was faster. Slapping his cheek you got off your seat.
“And maybe if you would know how to use your dick your wife wouldn’t fuck your colleague over there, but you’ll never know, right?” You grinned, picking your purse and walking out.
“I’m taking today off.” You yelled over your shoulder as you walked to your car.
Javier didn’t pick up the phone. Which wasn’t what concerned you on the first day. He would have to deal with the shit that had happened over there. But when three days passed and you could see Chucho getting nervous as well you became restless. The ranch had never been so spotless. The horses had been fed in record time, and you took long rides along the river. If something had happened to him someone would have called, right? You couldn’t even reach his partner Murphy who you had talked to occasionally when Javier wasn’t at his desk.
When a week passed and you hadn’t heard anything you were close to making your way to the airport to just fly down there. What if he died? What if he was gone and you hadn’t told him that you loved him? That you fell in love with a man you had never met before? Getting off the horse you sat down at the tree closest to the river. It was quiet here. This was the outer area of Chucho’s ranch, your favorite spot. You had joked about building a house here once when you were out with the old man and he had agreed that it would be the perfect spot. Sighing you drank from the bottle of water you brought.
Where the fuck are you Javier?
Another week went by without any sign of life from him. You had called the DEA office again but no one seemed to be able to give you an answer. You were growing restless. Working seemed to be the only thing that could get you off the spiraling thoughts of what if? You really had it bad for the man. Shaking your head to yourself you sighed as you parked your car on the usual spot in front of the ranch. Chucho’s truck was gone, he had a doctor's appointment to check on his hip and would meet his lady friend for dinner afterward. You had met her, Estella, once. She was a beautiful woman and Chucho seemed very happy with her. With a sad smile you killed the engine, getting out of the car. On your way to the house you groaned, turning around because you forgot your take out. You weren’t in the mood to cook and the pizza from that place that Javier had told you about was the best you had ever had. While you opened the passenger door of your car you heard the front door of the house open.
Shit. Burglars? You didn’t have anything on you, you could use as a gun. You knew you could probably make it to the horse stable to find something, but not in these fucking heels. Why did you wear these fucking heels? Maybe you could make them choke on the pizza? But then again you were looking forward to eating it.
“Just take what you want, I won’t look.” You called over your shoulder, hoping to just be spared for the day. Closing your eyes you sighed when you were met with no reaction. You heard footsteps on the porch that stopped.
“Look, I’m really not in the mood for this bullshit today. So either take whatever the fuck you want or kill me….” you turned around and all the words died on your lips.
Standing there, leaning against the porch was no other than Javier fucking Peña. Alive. And looking even better than on the various pictures hanging in the house. He was bare feet, wearing tight jeans and a green shirt that was half undone. Opening your mouth to talk, all that came out was a gasp. He looked at you, his eyes mirroring the million emotions inside of you. Looking down at yourself you felt shy all of the sudden. This isn’t how you imagined meeting him for the first time. You wanted to be pretty. To wear some spanx. To have some make-up on. Closing your eyes you breathed in deep. You were happy to see him, you really were. But the ride of emotions you had gone through in the last couple of days took hold of you. Walking quickly towards him, you pushed against his chest, the air leaving his lungs in a puff.
“You fucking idiot. I thought you died.” You pushed him again.
“Do you have any idea how awful I felt since I heard the news of the bombing? You…” You pushed against his chest again, but this time he was faster, grabbing your wrists as he looked down at you. You felt the tears in your eyes as you finally looked up at him. Almost a year of phone calls and now he was standing here in front of you. Alive and warm. And smelling so fucking good.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, holding both of your wrists against his chest as he looked at you.
“I should have called but I told you I fucked up. Badly. And I had to fix it and…” he shook his head. “It doesn’t matter now. I’m here and fuck… you’re even more beautiful than I pictured you,” he smiled a little.
“Flattery will get you nowhere.” You huffed, still annoyed.
“No?” he asked teasingly, smirking at you as he leaned down. You shook your head, biting your lip. God, you wanted to kiss him.
“Can I at least try?” he asked, his lips brushing over your temple. You swallowed, shivering when you felt his cheek against yours. Fuck. Why did he smell so good?
“You may try, but I’m really, really mad at you Javier.”
You closed your eyes when he released your wrists and put one of his hands on your back to push you closer against him. He kissed your cheek before he straightened to his full height and looked down at you, his other hand coming to rest on your cheek.
“You’re really sexy when you’re angry,” he teased before he leaned down to kiss you. You melted against him, your hands running up his chest, holding on to the back of his neck as one hand ran through his hair, to pull him down. Kissing him didn’t come close to anything you could have imagined, his tongue parting your lips and you couldn’t help the moan against his lips.
“Still angry?” he whispered out of breath against your lips.
“Slightly less angry,” you whispered back before you found yourself in his arms as he carried you into the house.

The Sommelier (Hannibal x Female!Reader) pt. 3
A certain redheaded tabloid journalist tracks y/n down at work. Y/n finds out how persistent she is when she makes her an offer she just can’t refuse.
Trigger warnings: Christianity, stalking, survivor’s guilt
You made it out alive, and that was more than could be said for some.
Your consolation prize was a ghastly scar on your hand that you kept bandaged up as to not scare small children. You did get some worker’s comp after all; enough to pay for your medical bills and a little extra to make up for the lost workdays. All things considered, you were the lucky one. Four people lost their lives that day and three more were injured far worse than you. You should have felt grateful to be alive.
But somehow that was even worse. You got a couple stitches and some time off. It wasn’t worth four people’s lives.
Your therapist explained it to you very gently. You were experiencing a phenomenon known as "survivor's guilt". She encouraged you to join a support group, get outside and familiarize yourself with your new experiences.
This was good advice and all, but yours was the newest, hottest crime. You couldn't go anywhere without being hounded by reporters looking for whatever details you had somehow left out. Dr. Bloom encouraged you to take some time off work until the media circus died down, but you had bills to pay.
"I feel like there should be some rule about re-opening a restaurant within a week of it being an active crime scene." Charissa observed as she wiped down a table. "If anything, it's a health hazard."
"Are you serious?" You scoffed. You'd been tasked with refilling the salt shakers. Appropriate, because there was plenty of salt to go around. "Demand for this place has never been higher. Everyone wants to see if the blood is still on the carpet."
"Hooray for capitalism." She rolled her eyes. "Are you gonna be okay, [F/N]?"
"'Okay' is a very relative term." You forced a laugh. "I think I can make it through the shift if that's what you're asking."
"Aren't you behind the bar all evening?" She asked.
"Yeah, but that means I'm trapped." You folded your arms. "First thing you see when you walk in is the waitress who survived the- what are they calling him?"
"The Baltimore Butcher." She answered with a voice full of vitriol. "Do you think they ever consider the ramifications of giving literal murderers these weird superhero names? Like, no wonder we get copycats, they treat these guys like celebrities."
"Holy shit, right?!" You slammed the salt shaker down on the table. "Y'know, last night on the news, they used the creep's graduation photo and kept saying that he was a good Christian young man with a lot of prospects."
Charissa stuck out her tongue in disgust. "I saw that. And how he was 'corrupted' by crack cocaine. Once again, blaming a drug that was used to villainize poor Black neighborhoods in the 80's as some kind of corrupting agent."
You nodded furiously. "Instead of understanding that Christianity is a violent imperialist religion that lets violent white men absolve themselves of any guilt."
"And they knew it wasn't crack." Charissa added. "I heard that shit was completely uncut. You know he spent a lot on it."
"And I will say this until the day I am put in the goddamn ground," you tensed up. "The only reason the fucker escaped is because he is white."
"Hey y'all." Another waitress walked in for her shift. "What are we talking about?"
"Cocaine." Charissa answered. “Also white privilege.”
"Great." She said dismissively. "Hey [F/N], can I scoop up that bar shift? I could really use the tips."
"Madison!" Charissa scolded. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"What?" Madison shrugged and glanced at you. "I didn't get any paid time off. I need the money."
"Was that supposed to be a joke?" Charissa scowled. "Are you seriously joking about her trauma?!"
"It's fine, she can have it." You rolled your eyes, then turned them to Madison. "Just know you're the reason I have survivor's guilt."
"Well now I feel bad." Madison frowned.
"Good." You and Charissa said in unison.
It was sort of comforting to get back to the script. Almost nostalgic. It provided the illusion of normalcy in an incredibly abnormal new reality.
You approached the first table in Madison’s block, hoping for a new beginning. A young woman with fiery red hair sat alone by the window.
“Hi!” You greeted, with a smile as genuine as you could muster. “My name is [F/N], I’ll be your waiter tonight.”
The woman smiled back. “Evening.”
You couldn’t tell what, but something was off. Perhaps you were trying too hard to force normalcy. Or maybe it was the borderline predatory way the woman was looking at you; like a shark following a trail of blood. Either way, the vibes were rancid.
“Can I start you off with a drink or is water okay?” You ask.
“Could I possibly trouble you for a glass of chardonnay?” She asked, lowering her eyebrows.
“Of course.” You nodded and reached for your pen.
“Actually,” She corrected herself. “If you could bring a bottle and two glasses, I’m expecting company.”
“Absolutely.” You scribble the order down on your notepad. “Do you have a preference?”
She thought for a moment. “Oh, dealer’s choice. Whatever you prefer.”
You soon returned to her booth with a bottle of your favorite chardonnay and two stemmed glasses. You poured a small bit in one glass to let her taste.
“You have wonderful tastes.” She complimented, filling her glass. “It’s very delicious.”
You rocked on your heels. “Would you like to place your order now, or do you want to wait until after your guest arrives?”
“Actually,” she repeated, filling the other glass. “My guest is already here.”
She slid the glass across the table and gestured to the other seat.
You felt stupid, but there was no way to avoid this. You couldn't just not do your job. She cornered you by the confinements of your profession.
"I really can't, I'm on the clock." You said, apologetically. The wine beckoned you. "I'm sorry, maybe another time."
"Oh, bummer." The woman placed her chin in her hand and pouted. "Well, I'm sure there's something that would make your boss look the other way."
She glanced down at your bandaged hand, then met your eyes. "The bandages are a dead giveaway, [F/N] [L/N]."
You then noticed a wire sticking from her pocket. Undoubtedly some kind of recording device. You looked at the ground. "I'm afraid I have to ask you to leave."
"But who will drink all this wine?" She asked, raising her glass.
"Ma'am." Your voice hardened as you tried to bite back an overwhelming rage. "Please leave the restaurant. I'm not going to ask you again."
Your manager, Matthew, passed by. "What's going on here?"
"This waitress is being very rude." The woman complained. "I ordered chardonnay, and she brought me chablis."
"Chablis is a type of chardonnay." You corrected. Even you found it strange that this was the hill you were willing to die on. "She asked for my preference, and I prefer the unoaked varieties."
Matthew looked confused. "Well, she's right."
You gestured to her pocket and he caught on immediately. He narrowed his eyes. "Ma'am, please leave the premises or I'll be forced to call the police."
The woman stood up, rummaged through her pockets and slapped a handful of bills down on the table. She then proceeded to drink both glasses of wine and walk away.
Matthew looked at you apologetically as he collected the bills. "Are you sure you want to be here tonight? I can call in someone to cover for you."
You shook your head and grabbed the bottle by its neck. "No, it's okay. I appreciate the concern but I really just want things to go back to normal."
"Hey!" A woman from the adjacent table called out. You prepared to immediately recant your statement about not going home.
"We like chablis." The woman said, gesturing to herself and her friend.
Her friend joined in. "And if that nosy reporter lady isn't gonna drink it..."
You glanced at Matthew, who shrugged. "Sure. It's yours."
The women exchanged delighted looks as you placed the bottle on their table. Matthew handed you a couple of clean glasses and you began to pour.
"For this wine, I suggest any of our wonderful seafood dishes." You explained, your cheeks stinging with a smile. "It also pairs quite nicely with chicken and game bird."
"Thank you." One of the women said. "If you don't mind, we'd like to take a look at the menu, please."
"Of course." You nodded. "Just flag me down whenever you're ready."
"This is why I put you behind the bar, by the way." Matthew gently scolded you as you collected the soiled glasses.
"Didn't you hear?" You said. "Madison needs the money because we can't all have paid time off."
"You should have come to me first." He sighed. "She has no right to say those things to you."
"Never stopped her before." You shrugged.
"I'll talk with her after the dinner rush." He said. "Just... try not to get cornered tonight, okay?"
"I'll do my best." You answered, flatly. “Because that’s definitely something I can control.”
The rest of your shift went smoothly, or, as smoothly as could be expected given the circumstances. The nosy reporter was right, your bandage was a dead giveaway. You had to dodge a couple of questions, but most people had enough decorum to know the wound--metaphorical and literal--was still fresh.
You said goodbye to Matthew and Charissa, collected your things and walked out to your car. You put the key in the ignition, only to find your gas tank was completely empty. You had just filled it that morning.
You bit back a scream and fought the urge to slam your head against the steering wheel. Throwing the door open, you mentally prepared yourself to either make a long trek to the nearest gas station, or beat someone up.
“Looking for this?” A smug voice said over the cicadas.
You turned around and saw the nosy reporter from before holding up a canister. A deep, blistering fury overtook your face as you slammed the car door. “You siphoned my fucking gas?”
“It’s not like you left me with much choice, [F/N].” She crossed her arms. “You’ll get it back once you answer my questions.”
You threw your head back in disbelief. “You’re Freddie Lounds, aren’t you?”
“I see I’m not the only one who does my research.” She said, looking a bit impressed. “How’d you know?”
“It’s the first thing that comes up when you search ‘unethical crime journalists Baltimore’.” You answered. “There’s a whole flair dedicated to you on the subreddit for murder survivors.”
Freddie seemed proud of herself. “Need a ride?”
“I’d rather drive off a cliff.” You said, honestly, before turning around to leave.
“Where are you going?” She walked after you.
“To get more fucking gas, you evil bitch.” You shouted back. “Are you gonna follow me to the BP too?”
“Look, I heard what you were saying to your friend.” She called out. “About white privilege.”
“Yeah,” You rolled your eyes. “It’s the same privilege that allows you to siphon a stranger’s gas and sit in a parking lot all night without getting arrested.”
“And I agree with you.” She hurried to your side, her chunky platform boots clacking against the asphalt. “They did you dirty and they’re shooting themselves in the foot by not listening to you.”
You turned around and threw up your arms. “Why didn’t you just lead with that?”
“I invited you to sit down over a bottle of wine, did I not?” Freddie chuckled.
“Cornering me at work is not a gesture of goodwill.” You huffed. “And I actually do want to put my story out there, but all you’re accomplishing by stalking me is guaranteeing you won’t be the one to do it.”
“Are you really in a position to be that selective?” Freddie smirked and placed all her weight on one hip.
You groaned. “What?”
“The Baltimore Butcher is still out there, and you won’t be the hot new victim forever.” She grinned sadistically. “Soon enough, him or some other psycho is going to strike, and your fifteen minutes of fame are up.”
“Good. Then I can go back to living my life.” You said.
“But what if his next victim is a Christian?” Freddie grabbed your shoulder. “What if the next person who narrowly avoids getting their throat slashed decides to go on record and say that he doesn’t represent ‘real Christianity’?”
You went quiet. You hadn’t considered it, but the thought of anyone downplaying his faith as a motivation made your blood boil. You looked into the man’s eyes and saw a person driven to kill for his god. A god he shared with the crusaders, conquistadors and slavers.
“...but it does. Christians colonized half the planet for--”
You stopped yourself when you saw Freddie’s smile.
“You want to get on your soapbox, now’s your chance.” She bit her lip. “Take control of the conversation while you still can.”
“Fine.” You spat. “I get off work tomorrow at four.”
Freddie shoved the gas can into your hands. “I’ll see you then.”

everything i need {mando x reader}
summary: din has to rethink his life plans how that you’re by side - not that he’s complaining {i do have a taglist but it’s 1am and i simply cannot be arsed to find it, please accept my not very sincere and very tired apologies}
warnings: much language
enjoy!! sorry for the lack of imagines lately, i’m back at work and working as a director on two of my group projects so i am neck deep in covid-related paperwork.
- jazz
p.s this has not been proofread, because i am just that shit
Din Djarin had never needed a reason to find a home. Settling down permanently wasn’t an option in his line of work. Permanence had never been part of his plan.
Then again, a lot of things hadn’t been part of his plan. The Child certainly hadn’t; if you’d told him five years ago that his firstborn son was going to look like...well, like that, he probably would have drop kicked you into the next rim. It didn’t matter that he couldn’t imagine his life without the kid now, or that he would rain hell on anyone who would dare lay a finger on the toad-like toddler. His life had gone in a direction he never could have anticipated and his son wasn’t even the biggest detour. That was you. Din wasn’t even entirely sure where you’d come from or when you’d come into his life, but he would have first surrendered his ship and everything on it before even considering the notion of living without you. Whether it was simply luck, or whether there was some higher power who finally decided to give him a fucking break, The Mandalorian had a family. He was no longer a lone gunslinger with nothing to lose; now, he had everything to lose.
The fear that came with his newfound vulnerability was a small price to pay, however. In the quieter moments - when it was just you and him and the kid - he had no question in his mind that everything was worth it. Every fright, every concern, every agonising moment that Din spent overthinking and calculating a million and one ways to keep you both safe was completely and irretrievably worthwhile. It was a little unconventional but a family was a family. A clan of three.
You didn’t often get to take breaks. They came every few months, usually whenever Din needed had had a particularly had job. You’d found your place halfway between helping him kick-ass and babysitting the Child (who at this point, was essentially your son too). It meant that days you were running across rooftops in Nevarro with a blaster in hand, and others you were running around after your kid, holding a diaper rather than a gun. The duality was astounding.
The last few weeks had been a little hard. There had been one bounty who had been relentless, and another who had tried to take a hit at you. It hadn’t taken long for you to put the bastard in his place but the Mandalorian had taken it a little more personally than you. Before throwing him into the carbonite, Din had broken a little more than six of the target’s ribs and given him a nice shiner on his left eye. He never minded when he was the one who had a punch or two thrown at him but when it was you? Din never took to it lightly.
Once both bounties had been sent to their respective clients and you’d collected your rewards, Din had set the Crest’s path towards a jungle planet. It was one he had frequented a few years ago - before you, before the kid - and whilst it was a little desolate, it was safe. It was away from any Imps, any potential danger. It meant that you could both let your guards down for a bit and put your feet up. Plus, the Child had been dealing with cabin fever for the better part of two weeks and you were convinced you were going to lose it if you didn’t get the little fucker to some open space soon. Preferably one with lots of frogs, because he was not taking well to the freeze-dried food that you’d been fobbing him with him for the last few months.
You were laying in an open field, weight propped up on your elbows as you glanced out into the grass over your sunglasses. Din was making his way back towards you, trudging through the long blades; the low evening sun was bouncing off the beskar of his helmet, causing you to scrunch your face up. You could tell from the way he was talking that he was exhausted. He’d been on kid duty all day (it was your turn tomorrow) and somehow, that was more tiring that any bounty.
‘Where is he-’
Your question was answered before you could even finish it; the little creature suddenly appeared through the grass, hitting your shin with a thump. Digging his claws into your jeans, he scrambled up onto your legs, plopping into your lap and leaning against your stomach. He peered up at you with big brown eyes for a second, before twisting back around to rest his head against your chest for a nap. There went your evening plans.
‘Did he eat anything?’ You raised your arm out to Din, signalling for him to sit next to you.
Aside from his helmet, he had shed the rest of his armour. The material of the undershirt he was wearing was soft against your skin as you leant into his side, letting it a small hmph as you did. He instinctively wrapped his arm your waist - because even on a safe planet, Din was naturally protective - and pulled you closer, using his free hand to run a finger over the kid’s wrinkly head.
‘I saw him swallow a frog whole.’ His modulated voice replied. ‘It’s still disturbing.’
‘Not as disturbing as when he ate the fish whole.’ You grimaced, glancing up at him. ‘The thing was bigger than him and he gulped it down. Biologically, it doesn’t work.’
‘Nothing about him makes sense.’ He said.
‘The only thing that makes sense is that nothing makes sense.’ You joked. ‘But I guess we’ll find out a little bit more when we work out where the hell he actually came from.’
It was a subject you didn’t approach too much. You knew that one day, you’d have to hand him back over to his own species; it was all well and good to look after him when he was still small, but you had no idea what he was going to grow to be. Finding his home planet had sort of been a secondary quest for you and Din, between bounties. Given how slow the little bastard aged, time wasn’t too much of a concern. Knowing where to start was the problem.
‘I wish we could keep him forever.’ You quietly murmured.
‘Me too, cya’rika.’ Din gave your shoulders a light squeeze. ‘But we have to do what’s right for him.’
‘I know.’ You nodded. ‘What do you think we’ll do after we’ve found his home? His species?’
It wasn’t something that Din had given much thought. He was so used to planning everything in the moment - hours ahead, at most. He hadn’t thought in terms of days, let alone weeks or years. It made sense to, because you weren’t going anywhere. He had an opportunity to have a life outside of being a bounty hunter; you’d shown him that much. He’d found a home with you - a sense of contentment and belonging - but in a physical sense, he’d never thought about settling on a planet. When he was younger, the idea of having his own children and his own clan had played on his mind, but it had faded as the years went by. Maybe it was time to revisit the idea.
‘We could get married.’ Din quietly suggested. ‘Start a clan of our own. Something permanent.’
‘I didn’t realise that the word permanent was in your vocabulary.’ You replied.
‘It wasn’t. Not before you.’ He said. ‘There was a lot of things I never thought about before you.’
‘A clan?’ You intertwined your fingers with his, giving his hand a light squeeze. ‘In a few years, absolutely - but I am not doing it on that pile of junk.’
‘That pile of junk got us here.’
You rolled your eyes, shaking your head - but there was a smile on your face. ‘We don’t have to think about it now. One step at a time.’
There was silence for a minute, as you both pondered to yourselves. In the same way you hadn’t been part of Din’s plan, he hadn’t really been part of yours. When you’d met him, you’d never expected to fall in love with him. You couldn’t see his face, or his emotions or his feelings - but after a while, you saw him. It was though you had seen straight through the armour and right into his very soul without either of you trying. You were first person to see him as Din, and not as the Mandalorian. You understood his humanity, and the fact he wasn’t always a warrior; it meant he could let his walls down around you, and seek support and solace in a way he’d always thought to be terrifying. And it was, at first, but now it felt natural and healthy. He had you and you had him. Nothing else mattered.
‘I’ll go wherever you go.’ Din broke the quiet, eyes falling down to where the child lay in your lap.
‘You’d do that for me?’ You rested a hand on the side of his helmet; it was cold against your skin, but the gesture was there. ‘You’d give us all this up for me?’
‘I’m not giving anything up.’ He replied. ‘When I have you, I have everything I need.’
Din had always been blunt and straight to the point: sometimes it was a blessing, sometimes it was a curse. Right now, it was completely and entirely a virtue. It meant that you didn’t have to second guess his feelings for you, or worry about him leaving you. Everything he said to you was a promise. Talks of your future were mutuals goals, things to look forward to together.
‘I love you.’ You pressed a kiss to the edge of his helmet.
‘I love you too.’ Din replied.
‘So let’s retire right now and get a moisture farm on Tatooine-’
‘- don’t push it.’

Family Business
A/N: It took me a while to write and finish it, but I like the idea a lot. Hope you guys enjoy! Pairing: Mafia!Steve Rogers x F!Reader Word count: 3,008 Warnings: Death, weapons, mention of blood, swearing.
(Gif is not mine, by super-madi16)
Okay, so maybe this wasn’t the way you expected to spend an average Thursday night with your daughter.
Everything was going perfectly fine. The two of you were making dinner together in the large, modern kitchen of your New York penthouse, surrounding by the glimmering of lights from other buildings and down below in the bustling streets that never sleep.
Carbonara was on the menu. It was one of Stella’s favorite things to both make and eat. At the independent age of 16, it was rare that she wanted to spend time with you and Steve anymore. She would much rather be out with her friends and her dad’s credit card than to be cooped up in this rather ginormous penthouse the family called home.
But here she stood, stirring the sauce as you monitored the pasta, complaining about her day and about how stupid boys her age were (as she always put it she was looking for a man, not a boy which always resulted in Steve chocking on whatever he was eating or drinking at the time). That conversation resulted in complaining about school in general, and how much it sucked being a teen.
As you continued stirring the pasta and she went back on her phone to play another song from the Bluetooth speakers in the kitchen, a sudden gunshot erupted. Both of you froze, your eyes scanning the room to see all of the guards rushing in the direction of the noise. But it only took a fraction of a second for your mother bear instincts to kick in. Grabbing your daughter and pushing her into your chest, you desperately ran back and into the secret room behind your clothes in your walk-in closet, that Steve had designed especially for emergencies.
Running your fingers across the area, the door popped open. You desperately pushed your daughter in than yourself, shutting the metal door back with the huge lock and bar, and hid with her in one of the corners, turning the lights off. You could hear her heavy breathing, as clearly she was having a panic attack. Grabbing onto her and her soft hair, you held her and murmured sweet words of endearment in an attempt to calm her down, which seemed to work... some.
It wasn’t until you heard a loud bang against the door that you yourself softly gasped and clung onto your daughter, she let out a soft sob. Knowing someone, who was probably not an ally, was on the other side of the door frightened you and both her. She was the first, you noticed, to throw herself away from your and to a box only a few feet away. Through the dark, you could see her open the wooden box and grab a gun inside, her shaky hands visible. She slowly and as silently as she could, cocked the gun. “Stel,” You whispered to her, “I got it.” She shook her head. “Stella I told you-”
The loud crash from the metal door that one divided safety and danger between the two of you and the outside world came colliding down. You couldn’t identify much but a man with a gun in all black, his silhouette disrupting the light from your closet that seeped its way through the doorway. None of Steve’s men would dress in all black.
You weren’t sure what to do. In a fluster within your mind as your daughter held the sole weapon you two had and a man who could end it all right here, or worse, drag it on further out. Your eyes froze in a complete panic your hands involuntarily shaking and shivering cold with fear.
A gunshot sounded, the man falling to the floor in a single second as blood surrounding his body and ricocheted onto the walls. You gasped in relief, looking over to your daughter, “Stella?”
There the young girl, long brunette hair with delicate waves at the end, sat on her knees in complete horror and awe, staring at the dead body. She dropped the gun from her right hand and let out a horrid sob. Cupping her face in her hands, you rushed over on your hands and knees, holding her as tightly as you could without suffocating her body. You cooed her, brushing her soft hair in your fingers and placing your own chin on her head, engulfing both her body and soul within yours.
“I-I,” She mumbled, “I killed someone.” It took everything within your being not to start crying yourself, or worse, lash out at someone or something. The genuine and pure form of anger that pulsated in your veins made you want to rip something to shreds.
While ultimately this wasn’t Steve’s fault, you were mad at whoever did this. You had chosen this life with your husband, you two had chosen to have a child together. You brought her into this world, without her permission, and you always tried your hardest to keep her out of the world of Mafia.
She had been interested since day one of getting involved, being the head man, or headwoman just like Steve. And when she asked him about it all he wasn’t only happy to hear about her interest, he was proud. Something that Steve rarely meant, unless it was for Stella.
But you knew after tonight, that would change.
It was only a few minutes later, you were sure, but it felt like an hour for Steve himself and a whole military worth of his men to arrive. “Y/N?” He called out, running into your closet judging by the pattern of his feet moments on the hardwood floors, “Stella?”
His figure appeared in the light, his face turning from concern to sadness. Dropping the anger that once tensed his muscles, he walked over and dropped to the floor next to your daughter, as Bucky and Sam rounded the corner to see both the scene and the body in awe.
“Baby?” Steve cooed to your daughter. For the first time, she looked up with swollen and soaked eyes. Another sob escaped her lips as she moved from you to him, clinging onto his dress shirt for dear life as she cried into it, his large arms embracing her in a large hug as he kissed the top of her head. “It’s okay sweetheart, it’s okay.”
“D-dad,” She stuttered out, pulling away to look at him.
“Yeah, sweetie?” He looked down at her, still holding her partially.
“I killed someone.” He looked with big eyes at her, then calmed down and sighed.
“Okay.” He huffed out, “We’ll deal with it okay?” He looked back to Bucky and Sam, snapping only once and looking to the body which they had other men help them out with, as Steve turned both you and Stella away.
“Dad, I’m a murderer.” She mumbled as more tears fell down her red cheeks.
“No, sweetheart, no you’re not.” He sighed, “It was self-defense.”
“But I killed someone!” She argued.
“To protect you and your mother.” He repeated himself, “Darling, that’s self-defense. You’re not a murderer, and you never will be.” She continued to hold onto Steve, still crying. “Let’s get out of here, okay?” She nodded, her head still buried in his chest.
He helped you up onto your feet first, checking over your face and giving a quick kiss to the top of your forehead, before retreating back to Stella. He picked her up, carrying her bridal style into the living room. Placing her down on the couch gracefully like she was a porcelain doll, he cooed her a bit more before barking at the men around the room to remove themselves and go elsewhere in the house.
“Baby? Are you okay?” The two of you sat down on the couch. He was on her left, you were on her right. Running his hand through her hair to calm her down, he genuinely looked worried.
“I can’t do that again, Dad.” She leaned into his chest, “I can’t.” She mumbled.
“I know, sweetie, I know.” He sighed, still running his hand over her head. “You won’t ever have to again. I promise.” He gave her a tender kiss on the top of her head, you now rubbing her back in circles with one of your hands. “Do you want some dinner?” He asked her next, aware that no one had eaten yet. She shook her head. “Mkay.” He sighed, not wanting to push her.
“I just- I just wanna go to my room.” She pulled away a little, giving both you and Steve one more hug.
“You sure, honey?” He asked very lightly. She nodded.
“We’ll text you with dinner options, alright?” You spoke up and she nodded. “We love you.” You smiled at her. She nodded and walked away. Once she was up the stairs, Steve let out a sigh and moved closer to you, throwing his arm around you. You sank back into his chest, closing your eyes to absorb the warmth and safety.
“And how are you?” He asked, giving you a kiss on the head.
“As good as I can be.” You replied. “I’m just worried about her.” He nodded.
“I am too.” He admitted, “I’m so sorry that happened, it’s my job to protect you two and-”
“And you weren’t here so it’s not your fault, Steve.” You fought back peacefully.
“But if that fucker wouldn’t have-”
“Steve, stop.” You told him firmly, “There’s no need to blame yourself for any of this, okay? If we should be worried about anything it’s Stella.” He nodded in agreement.
You felt some guilt as well. You should have been the one to have the gun, you were the adult in the situation. Granted Stella was exactly like Steve; she was persistent, she was stubborn. Usually, that would get her places, she could even get more money out of Steve for shopping trips or to go out with her friends because of her negotiation skills and how she would never stop. But today was drastically different, this was a situation where you didn’t want those traits to play out. Especially the way they did.
You curled into his chest, his arms wrapping around your body, your back to his chest. “I love you, so much.” He mumbled into your hair.
“I love you too.” You slightly smiled, rubbing his arms with your hands.
“So you know what you want for dinner?” He asked you next.
“I don’t care,” You sighed, “Maybe that Italian spot a few blocks away. The one that Wanda’s family owns.”
“Oh yeah,” He responded, “Let’s get take out from there.” He pulled out his phone, still holding you with one arm, and got the menu. “Should we get Stel something?” He asked, you nodded.
“Even if she doesn’t eat it tonight we can keep it in the fridge.” He nodded in agreement.
“What do you think she would want?” He asked you again and you lightly laughed.
“You know what she wants.” You rolled her eyes.
“Chicken tenders.” You both said in tandem, light laughter following. “Mkay love,” He got up, letting you set yourself back on the pillows, “I’m gonna go order, alright?” You nodded in agreement.
As he departed down the hall to order, to leave you without any disturbance, you chose to watch some TV. More as a mindless distraction, something to keep your eyes from replaying the scene in your mind of your daughter defending you. Something to occupy the ringing in your ears between the gunshot and the sobs of the one you loved most.
You tried so hard to be calm and collected, for both her and Steve. You knew Steve would loathe himself enough about all of this, now was your time to be the rock in the family. Even if you weren’t all that solid at the moment.
“Love? Baby, you there?” You heard Steve, breaking you from your trance.
“Huh, what?” You looked up with a soft smile as you glanced at his face. He smiled back.
“You zoned out there for a sec,” You nodded as he came to sit next to you again. He examined your face for a moment, seeing right through you as if your walls were made of glass. “Baby, I need you to talk to me.” He said softly, with a slight tinge of worry in his voice. You sighed, looking down to your hands and then back up at him.
“I’m just-” You tried to contemplate which words would accurately fit how you were feeling, “I’m conflicted.” You admitted to which he gave an inquisitive look.
“How so?” He asked.
“I want to- I need to be there for Stella,” You began, “But I also haven’t had time or space to process this myself. and maybe that’s selfish, I’m sure it is. But it’s all just so much-”
“It’s not selfish,” Steve insisted plainly, “Not at all. Stella’s been through a lot today, but so have you. And if you need all the time and space in the world to figure this out, I’ll figure out a way to give it to you.” He offered a kind smile. “I can be there for both you and Stella. That’s my duty.”
“But it shouldn’t be.”
“But it is,” he continued, “Because you willingly chose to immerse yourself in my lifestyle, which was enough to ask for, and Stella didn’t have a say.”
“But still I’m her mom and-”
“And you’ve both been through a lot and you both need time.” He gave you a peck on the cheek, “I love you, and you deserve all the time that you need.”
It took a few days for Stella to come back and begin to interact with you guys again. You had brought food to her room, some candy and ice cream too, everything and anything she needed. Steve had called her off school after yelling at the principal and using the excuse, “I pay enough for that damn school the least you can do is give my kid a few days off” which seemed to work.
It was minimal interaction at first. Initially, she was just grabbing some water. Then it turned to snacks, then to a very small conversation, then to her finally spending some time with you guys.
It wasn’t until you had all sat down for a family dinner that she had begun to open up, just a bit though. It was primarily you and Steve attempting to talk about things of interest that related to her: politics, books, anything you could. She remained silent, in her own mind and world. You weren’t sure what she was thinking, but you didn’t want to push or interrupt her either.
“Dad?” She finally spoke up, her voice reaching just above a whisper. Both of your heads shot up to where she sat, next to Steve and across from you.
“Yes, sweetie?” He asked, putting his full attention on her.
“I- um,” She began contemplating what she was going to say, looking down at her food which she has slowly been eating, “I need to tell you something, now, but you have to promise me that even if you get mad, you won’t yell or anything.”
“Of course not,” He grabbed her free hand and held it on the table, “I promise.”
“Okay.” She took a deep breath, closing her eyes for a few brief moments before looking back up to him, “I don’t think I can take over all of this.” She admitted, clearly awaiting a response with little breath.
“All of what?” Steve asked.
“Your position.” She clarified.
Naturally, she was next in line to be the mob boss. Sure she was a girl, Steve didn’t care though. He had been preparing her for most of her life. But you knew from the moment she pulled that trigger that that was it. She would never be able to be in the mob.
Steve stared for a few seconds, looking down and giving off a quiet sigh before clearing his throat. “That’s fine.” He lightly smiled, still holding her hand. She gave a confused look.
“A-are you sure? You have to be mad-”
“No, no I’m not. I get it.” He admitted, “And don’t worry. We’ll find someone to take over. We can’t forget Will, Uncle Buck’s son, he could take over too.” She nodded lightly.
“Thanks, dad.” She looked up at him with a tight smile, to which he smiled back.
“Darling, I hope you realize that your mother and I didn’t just have you to take over the business,” He clarified, “You’re our daughter, and that’s your first and only role to us.” You nodded too, silently agreeing with what he was saying.
“Thanks, Dad,” She softly smiled, “I love you guys.”
“We love you too.” You smiled, grabbing her other hand, before looking to Steve raising one of your eyebrows. He gave you a confused look, pondering over what you were trying to communicate, before finally getting it.
“Oh,” He sighed, with a soft smile, turning his attention back to Stella. “Your mother and I thought it might be best to take some time off, with you, of course, so we scheduled a three-week trip to stay down in Palm Beach, at the house there.” He smiled at her, to which she smiled back.
“Wait, but what about school?” She asked. Steve rolled his eyes.
“I dealt with it don’t worry.” He began, as you got up to begin taking plates to the dishwasher, “fuck school anyways.” Stella began laughing as water flew out of her mouth, to which she covered her mouth with her hand in shock, and Steve began laughing too.
“Hey!” You scolded him, “We should not be preaching that to our daughter. Or any kid for that matter.” He rolled his eyes.
“I’m also allowing you to take three friends. No boys though, and their absence will be dealt with too.”
“Thanks, again, dad.” She smiled, genuinely, for the first time in weeks.

Braids
Request: No it wasn’t one, until I get some I am using a random generator :)
Character: Diego Hargreeves
Prompt: Fluff- 10. “Stop moving and let me braid your hair.”
Summary: Diego refuses to cut and or trim his hair, though it is getting long enough to get in his way ever so slightly. He’s complaining about it so you decide to fix it for him.
“Mother fucker.” A metal spoon hit the table with a clang as cuss words rang out from your boyfriends mouth a second morning in a row.
There Diego sat, cereal with milk in a nice ceramic bowl on the table. But some of the milk was missing from the bowl. Not that anyone could tell just by looking at the bowl, it was more or less the white substance soaked into the front pieces of his hair.
“Maybe if you didn’t eat like a dog with your head in the bowl that wouldn’t happen.” The sly comment got you a look from Diego who was not at all happy with the situation.
“I was not eating like a dog, I was eating normal.” He picked up his spoon and pointed the metal utensil at you defending his cereal eating.
“Then how in the world did you get the milk in your hair?” You walked over and touched a piece of his milk-soaked hair gently.
“Because my hair does this.” He scooted his chair back to face you, the piece of hair you once held slipped your grasp. Diego took his hands in his hair and ruffled it around into its natural part.
“I don’t understa-”
Before you could finish he tipped himself forward, and all of his hair fell forward into his face. The wavy pieces covered his eyes, nose, and mouth almost completely.
“See. It’s a mess, and before you say it no. I will not be cutting it.” He lifted his head to face you again, running his hands through his hair until it was no longer in his face. Diego had a slightly serious pout on his face, he reached out and grabs your hand pulling you closer to him.
You thought for a moment as he held both your hands, as you stood there he intertwined your fingers with his. A smile snuck onto your face as an idea popped into your head. Diego noticed that smirk from anywhere and he raised an eyebrow to you.
“I have an idea.” You took a step back and pulled his hands forward, though you are not strong enough to pull him Diego agrees to follow you and allows the rest of his body to rise from the chair.
You made your way into the bathroom of your shared apartment, “What are we doing?” Diego questioned, your plan had not yet become clear to him.
“Well in order for me to do anything with your hair it kind’ve can’t have milk in it.” You moved around where he stood and turned on the faucet. As you checked the water temperature Diego got a towel from one of the lower bathroom cabinets.
“Put your head under the faucet.”
Diego sighed and took off his tank-top, got down on his knees, and leaned his head over the edge of the bathtub. You then, took off your socks and got in.
“We could’ve just taken a shower.” Diego commented as you took the shower head from its post and switched the setting to a stronger jet.
“Hold still.” With your free hand you flipped all his hair over his face completely and started rinsing out all the milk along with cleaning the rest. Then you got a small palm of shampoo and massaged it into his scalp.
“Should I close my ey-”
Before he could finish his sentence you were rinsing the shampoo out,
“IT’S IN MY EYES.” Diego took his hands off his legs and rubbed his eyes violently.
You just sighed and put a light amount of conditioner in the ends of his hair and rinsed it out as well. Before you could reach over him to get the towel you felt water spray across your shirt and pants. Not only had Diego taken the shower head but he was shaking his hair around. Water was now found almost everywhere in the bathroom.
“I thought you weren’t like a dog.” You scowled at him lightly and stepped out of the tub grabbing the towel. Diego turned off the faucet and sat on the toilet lid. You ran a hand through his hair and got behind him, sitting yourself down behind him. You reached up and wrapped the towel around his hair ruffling it around. He pulled himself back a bit in shock, not exactly expecting you to jostle his head around. Once it was drying a bit you grabbed the brush off the sink and brushed his hair out gently. He leaned back into you and even though it made your job harder he was enjoying himself. You smiled at kissed his forehead once you were done brushing.
You got up and he looked at you like ‘uh get back here what are you doing’.
“I have to get these.” You pulled open the drawer and shook a container of thin hairbands at him.
“What do you think you’re doing with those?”
You ran back to your spot and wrapped your arms around his shoulders as you began to try and convince him to just trust the process,
“I promise it’s gonna be good, cmon, I will let you do my hair if you let me do yours.”
“I am willing to make a deal but not that one.”
“So then what is it that you want?” You laid a head on his shoulder and pressed your forehead against his cheek.
“I can think of one good thing I know you’ll go for.” He put a hand on one of your thighs that sat next his.
“It isn’t really a deal if I enjoy both things, but, I’ll take it.” You sat back and began to braid the right side of his hair back into a small dutch braid, and then did the same to the left. Then you realized they were slightly uneven and started over on the left side. You worked quickly due to the fact that Diego was clearly getting impatient and bored. Diego continued to play with your thighs and would not hold still. Then you took both the ends, added in some hair, and made a tiny little bun out of it. You stood up, which alarmed him because he was not expecting that.
“See that took barely any time at all and you’re done.”
He got up from his seat and looked in the mirror at what you had done. Whisps of small wavy baby hairs came from both sides of his face and touched his forehead right above his eyebrows. The braids were quite even, which was shocking due to how much he was accidentally moving his head around. And the bun was messy but it did keep all of his hair in one spot.
“This looks badass.” Diego tilted his head at different angles, clearly impressed with the job you had done.
“I know, looks hot on you.” You stood next to him as you watch him hype himself up in the mirror.
“I think I know an angle you would like better.” He turned to face you and lifted your head up with his hand on your chin.
“Show me”....

Hi, good luck with your blog! I've just discovered it and I can't wait for your content. As for request... I would like to read about artist Tae where MC is dared to pose nude and Tae fall in love with her, or MC having a bf so she pose nude as a present for him but Tae (obssesed) blackmail her whereas he will show her picture to the public if she don't leave her bf...
Hello! Thank you so much for your request and sorry for taking long to answer, I had a lot of ideas of what to write so it took me a little to actually get to write it but here it is! I changed it a little, I hope that’s okay and you like it.
Masterlist
Word count: 3.3k
Taehyung has been an artist for several years, he started up by taking photos of landscapes he thought were pretty and painting simple things until he got where he is now: one of the most claimed painters of the country; he still likes photography and keeps painting nature sceneries but the reason why he is so famous and well-known is because of his portraits, his nude portraits. He doesn’t just paint whoever is willing to pay him, though, he just accepts if he finds the person to be worth it of both his time and his eyes, at the end of the day, who would like to look at an ugly naked body, having to memorize it and then paint it as if it was something beautiful? People call him arrogant, a snob, frivolous…and well, maybe he is but look at where that got him so he’s not complaining nor he’s about to change it. He’s an artist so who can be better than him to judge what is art and what is not?
It’s been a rough week, not even one out of all the people that has been going to his studio was worth his time and he’s worried that maybe somehow, he has already painted all the beautiful people in the whole country. That worrisome dispels one evening when he is about to leave his studio and call it a day and you appear at his door; you with a shy smile and so much light in your eyes, you dressed in a casual outfit but still showing that you put effort into looking good (not that you really needed to put much effort though), you that speaks in such an angelic voice and calls his name in the sweetest tone he has ever heard before.
“Hello, is this Vante’s studio?”
“Yeah, it’s- that’s me, yes”. He finds himself at a loss of words, something that never ever happened to him, normally it would be the opposite and he would be the one making people not be able to speak even a simple phrase when in his presence. He swallows and thinks about how his hyungs would mock him if they saw him like this.
“Uhm, can I come in? I would like to talk to you about a possible job?” You are looking at him expectantly and he gets lost momentarily in your eyes once again until he is finally able to get a hold of himself and move to the side you could come in.
You smile brightly and move inside his studio while he closes the door and takes a deep breath in hopes of clearing his mind enough to be able to attend your request how you deserve.
“So, what is it that I can do for you, beautiful?”
You stop looking at the numerous paintings and sculptures that occupy his studio and turn to look at him with a light blush adorning your cheeks.
“I would like for you to paint a portrait of me…naked”, you say the last word in a whisper, so low he wouldn’t have been able to hear it if it wasn’t for the place being totally silent.
Taehyung looks at you from head to toe, out of reflex, with curiosity and maybe already imagining you naked, totally exposed for his eyes only. When he finally moves his eyes to your face, he takes pride in seeing the blush in your cheeks is now more noticeable than before.
“Of course, love, it would be pleasure. For when do you want it?”
“Oh, really? That’s a relief, I heard you were quite…refined when choosing your clients… so I was a little hesitant if you would accept my offer, I’ve been a fan of your work for some years now, I really love the way you portray the beauty of the people you paint and don’t even get me started with you sculptures, sometimes it feels like they’re actual people looking at you with how rough their emotions are- oh God! I’m sorry I’m rambling, I’m just pretty nervous and excited about finally meeting you and- I’m doing it again, am I not? I’m so…”
“No, please, stop apologizing. It’s okay, it’s really cute, you can keep praising me”. Taehyung smirks at you, he looks amused at your spur of compliments and your opinion on his art. He really wasn’t one for hearing people praise his works or him for they more than not did it with the purpose of getting in his pants but there’s something about the way you talked…it drives him crazy, he wants to keep listening to you talk for hours on end. “And yes, you’re right about the part of me being refined when I decide who I want to paint and that’s exactly why I accepted your offer, you’re exquisite yourself, I would be a fool to reject you, love.” He can’t stop himself, it’s like he doesn’t have any filter and just says everything that comes to his mind, or almost everything.
“Thank you then, Vante.”
“Taehyung, please, that’s my actual name.”
“Okay, Taehyung,” you smile once again and he feels his heart skip a beat, “and answering your question: I’d need to portrait for the end of the month? That’s when my boyfriend’s birthday is, and I want it to be a gift for him.”
Boyfriend.
A fucking boyfriend.
Taehyung’s posture becomes stiff and the smile on his face falls a little, not enough for you to notice, though, but he can feel rage starting to form on his body. So, you’re not for his only it seems, but a lot of things can change in three weeks, right?
“That’s completely okay, we’ll have to meet quite a lot, though, for me to be able to have it on time. I hope that’s not a problem?”
“Not at all. But I thought I would only need to come for a couple of sessions and then you would finish the portrait on your own?”
“I like having the model in front of me from the beginning until the end of the process, so I can fully portray their emotions when posing and their bodies just the way they are.”
Lies.
All lies.
He’s actually very quick with his works, needing only two weeks on top to have them done and obviously he doesn’t need the model to be there the whole time. It’s all bullshit but you don’t need to know that.
“Ah, I understand. I like that, you’re so dedicated with your work. So when can we start, then?”
“That I am, love. Tomorrow works for you? The sooner, the better. I’ll probably need you to come thrice a week.”
“Sure, that works for me, sounds perfect. So tomorrow in the morning, at eleven o’clock?” You look so cute, so beautiful, so eager to start working on it and Taehyung finds himself with a bittersweet taste in his mouth at the thought, of course he is dying to see you naked but he doesn’t want to paint you for your boyfriend. “Oh, and what about the prize?”
“Sounds good. And don’t worry about the prize now, we’ll get to that when I have your portrait completely done.”
You nod your head, smiling kindly at him and start walking towards the door. Taehyung follows you, once again checking you out and damning your boyfriend in his mind for being able to call you his when the fucker is sure not worth even of your time. He’d like to make any excuse to keep you for a longer time there with him, just talking about your lives and getting to know each other but he has three weeks to do that and right now he needs to make an urgent call.
Right before you’re about to leave, he asks for your phone number in case something comes up and any of you have troubles making it to one of the appointments. Bullshit once again but now he has a way to contact you.
Taehyung closes the door and presses his forehead against it, breathing deeply and already tracing a plan in his mind to make you his, as you should be. You’re ethereal, a goddess and you truthfully belong by his side. With that thought in mind, he takes his phone and dials a number. The person at the other end of the call answers almost instantly.
“Yeah, Tae? What is it?”
Taehyung smiles hearing the voice of his friend.
“Hey, Jimin. I need you.”
The next days are a complete blur for both of you and Taehyung and before you notice it’s already been three weeks and the birthday of your boyfriend is upon you.
As Taehyung said, he asked you to visit him thrice a week and made you stay with him from morning until almost night; the first times it was a little awkward for you: getting there, disposing all your clothes and just posing for hours on end naked in front of Taehyung with barely any words shared in between you both. Taehyung made a huge effort in being as slow as he could when painting you, paying an excruciating attention to every curve of your body, touching you here and there (maybe more than he really needed to, but who can blame him? You’re precious) and obsessing over you to limits he didn’t think was possible. Taehyung finally got you to open to him, to start talking about your life, your job, your stupid boyfriend, your passions. Everything, he made you talk about every single aspect of your life and by now he probably knew you better than your own mother. You eventually started eating with him at his studio and surprised yourself spending more time than you should with clothes than without them.
Finally, the last day arrived, Taehyung had finished your portrait and needless to say, it was absolutely perfect. You could recognize yourself, of course, but were still astonished at how pretty he made you look, all your curves were so soft, you never knew someone would look at you and see that. But Taehyung did, he was more than proud of his work for it was by far the best of his large collection; he doesn’t think he was able to truly make you justice, you were way too stunning to actually portray that in a simple painting but it was pretty close to the real thing.
And so, your paths separated. You gave your boyfriend the portrait and he loved it, everything was fine in your life and you were happy, sometimes you got messages from Taehyung asking about your day and the opinion of your boyfriend on the painting but that’s it.
On the other hand, Taehyung was miserable. He misses you terribly. As he suspected, he hasn’t been able to accept any requests for more portraits, too captivated with the memories of you and your body still fresh in his head. But he had a plan to make you come back to him again, he just needed to be patient, just a little more.
And it’s been almost two weeks when, in the middle of the night, he receives a phone call with your name and the first thing he hears when answering is your sobbing and incoherent words. Taehyung smirks, fully awake now, sitting in his bed. He tries to calm you, acting worried and asking what is that has you in such distress. He’s able to make out the words ‘boyfriend’, ‘fight’, ‘photos’ and you asking if you can go to his house. Taehyung accepts almost immediately, getting out of bed so he can get dressed and go pick you up. You reject his offer, explaining that you need time to clear your head and the walk will help you; he doesn’t have any option that agrees even if the idea of you walking alone at three in the morning doesn’t appeal to him at all.
Twenty minutes later, Taehyung is in his kitchen making some tea when he hears a soft knock on his door and smiling cheerfully goes to open you. His smile, though, disappears the moment he sees you: you’re no longer crying but your eyes are red and puffy, and your hair is a complete mess. He is quick to hug you and puts you as close to his body as he can, trying to comfort you at the best of his abilities.
“It’s okay, sweetheart, everything will be fine.” You just stand there in his arms, letting him hug you, with your eyes closed and hearing the softness in his voice, helping you calm your nerves just a little. “Do you want some tea while you tell me what happened?”
You just nod your head and follow him through his apartment, not really paying much attention to your surroundings. Your mind is racing and your hands clutching an envelope against your chest with such strength that your knuckles have turned white.
“Here you go, love”, says Taehyung while offering you a cup of tea. You whisper a simple ‘thank you’ before taking a sip, still grabbing the envelope with one hand. “Do you want to talk now?”
Taehyung sees you struggling, he can almost hear the gears in your head moving and how you are trying to find the words to speak so he stays quiet, giving you all the time of the world until you’re ready to start talking. After what seems like hours for you, you are able to raise your eyes from the table and search for his eyes though you can maintain the look for more than three seconds before your eyes are fixed again on the table.
“I… I’m sorry I’m breaking into your house at this hour, but I didn’t know where else to go or who to call but you...”You look at Taehyung again and see him already looking at you intently, making you swallow and taking another sip of your tea. “My boyfriend received this envelope this morning, he confronted me when I got home from work in the evening and started calling me names and saying not so nice things to me. He- he broke up with me, didn’t even let me explain anything and just started throwing things and he broke the portrait and kept screaming at me, not giving me any chance to talk and then he… he kicked me out of our apartment.”
At this point you were already crying again, and Taehyung can feel his heart shattering into million pieces by seeing you so sad and broken. He cursed your boyfriend, now ex, in his mind and with a worried frown got next to you in order to be able to hold you in his arms again. He was already addicted to the feeling of your body pressed to his, feeling the warmth radiate from you and realizing just how perfect you fit against his figure. He can’t let you go. Never.
“Sh, deep breaths, baby, okay? Breath slowly for me, calm down.” He rubbed your back, feeling you grabbing his t-shirt like your life depended on it and Taehyung absolutely loved that idea.
Some minutes pass by, you trying to calm your sobbing, and Taehyung whispering sweet nothings against your head.
“Can you tell me what the argument was about? What is in that envelope that made your boyfriend so mad?” Taehyung finally asks after you managed to stop crying, he puts some distance between your bodies, enough to see your face and still keeps his arms around your waist.
“It’s… there are photos inside…of us. Of me, naked in front of you. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry Taehyung, I don’t know how this happened. I can’t comprehend how someone managed to take those disgusting pictures and made it seem as if I was going to sleep with you. And now my boyfriend thinks I’m a whore that cheated on him and he blocked my number and won’t open the door to the apartment, and I don’t know what to do.”
Taehyung keeps silent, thinking about what you just said and turning his gaze to the envelope that now remains on the table. He looks back at you as if asking if he can take a look himself and you just nod softly, not being able to look at him while Taehyung takes it and proceeds to see the photos.
Indeed, they led you to think that something was about to happen in between them, there are plenty of photos of you taking your clothes, smiling at him while naked, moving around his studio in just a shirt, and so on. All of them were taken from the street, from outside and all of them have a clear purpose: destroy both his and your lives.
“Has anyone seen them apart from you and your boyfriend? Are there more copies?”
“No, not that I know at least.”
“I really hope you’re right. We can’t let anyone see these, okay? We have to destroy them.”
Taehyung is serious when talking, looking a little distressed himself and you feel even worse about dragging him with you in this mess.
“I know… I’m really sorry this is happening, Taehyung. I never thought someone would follow me and take those photos, and I’m sorry this is involving you too.”
Taehyung frowned a little at your words, you thought someone could have followed you? For him, it would make more sense to be the other way around: a person he rejected or one of the multiple girls he fucked and never called again trying to mess with him now, trying to ruin his career by making it seems as if he wasn’t professional enough and couldn’t help but getting in the pants of his clients. It could potentially ruin him, no one would ever trust him enough to paint another portrait if those photos see the light of the day.
“It’s not your fault, sweetheart, please stop apologizing. I’m sorry if I was a little harsh, I wasn’t expecting this to happen at all, I’m sorry. We’ll figure it out, okay?”
“Thank you so much, Tae. I truly cannot go to anyone else; all my friends are my boyfriend’s friends as well and I don’t think they’ll take my side on this.” The look on your face, so lost and troubled make him feel almost guilty about the whole situation.
“I understand, love. You can count on me, okay? You can stay with me here in my apartment if you want to, I have enough space.”
“Really? Could I?” Your facial expression changed to be one of relief that makes Taehyung heart jump in his chest and smile at you lovingly while caressing your cheek.
“Of course, love. You can stay here for as long as you want, nothing would make me happier than that. Come, you’ll have to sleep in my bed tonight, though, tomorrow I’ll tidy the room that would be yours.”
You nod in his direction, letting a yawn escape your mouth that almost makes Taehyung coo at you. He guides you to his bedroom, and searches for some clothes he can give you for you to change into. The thought of you dressed in his clothes, in his bed causes him to have problems keeping his breathing stable. While you are in the bathroom, Taehyung takes his phone to write a quick message.
Thank you so much, Jimin. It worked perfectly.
Right when he presses the send button, you enter his room again looking shyly in his direction with a sleepy expression. Taehyung locks his phone and smiles at you, guiding you both to his bed.
You reach out to him, asking for permission to hug him since you’re used to cuddle with something when sleeping and he doesn’t need to think twice until having his arms around you, your head pressed to his chest. He looks at the ceiling, feeling totally content with how things developed, sighing slightly when looking down and seeing you fast asleep already. The screen of his phone lights up but he pays it no mind, closing his eyes and falling asleep with you.
Anytime, Tae. Enjoy your prize ;).

YN stumbled haphazardly into her apartment, as she tried to kick off heels and steer her way into her apartment's small bathroom. In her hand lay a crumpled up business card that scorched her skin, yet she couldn't let go of it. As she reached the bathroom, she flickered the yellow lighting on and stared at herself in the dirty mirror. Mascara and eyeliner were smudged making her resemble a panda, a frown etched between her brows, and colored lips turned downward. It was not her wretched appearance that had her sorrowful, but rather the bite that was visible right where her neck met her shoulder. It looked fresh, harsh red marks that displayed to the world that she was taken. "What a fucking lie."
She took off her makeup and jumped into the shower scrubbing off every trace she could of the alpha. Not wanting his scent permeating on her body any longer, then it would truly prove people's perception of her to be true. A small ding as she was exiting the shower alerted her towards her phone.
Mark Lee: Sorry about how I acted. I just don't understand, but I don't think we should see each other anymore.
"Great," YN grumbled. There went another one that she'd managed to drive away. It would be a lot easier if she could simply date someone like her - not that it would ever be allowed. Still, there would be less judgment and she wouldn't have to feel like a let down to society or her family every time a holiday passed and she failed to present with a mate. "Fuck society." Though truly it was more like fuck Jeon Jungkook. None of this would've happened if it weren't for the alpha and his hormones. Truly none of this would've happened if his mates kept a tighter grip on the newly presenting alpha, but she couldn't blame the others for his mistake.
On second thought, fuck them all. Why the fuck are sub-genders a thing anyway? This wasn't the first time said thoughts had filled her head. Presenting as an Omega in a family full of beta's had been difficult, not to mention the events that followed afterward. YN dragged her feet into her bed, thankful for once that she lived in such a small apartment that things were never so far apart. Though her current apartment was about the size of the kitchen in her parent's home, she couldn't complain. Few people rented unmated omegas. She was lucky that her landladies were two female betas with small children. YN doesn’t have anything against alphas but she’s aware enough to know how they perceive her: a means to an end rather than a human being. Or half of one at the very least.
Her cell phone screen lit up again, but YN was far too tired to check it. Until it stayed on as a plethora of messages appeared. Rolling her eyes, YN grabbed her phone and unlocked it planning to send to hell whoever sent so many messages this late at night.
Unknown: Please consider it.
Unknown: I know you blame me for a lot of things and it is my fault, but I’d like to fix things.
Unknown: or help at the very least.
Unknown: Please just answer me.
Unknown: I’m very sorry. You know I am. It was a mistake, I was presenting and couldn’t control myself. Please YN.
Unknown: You’re my mate.
YN slammed her phone down on her bed with tears in her eyes. She regretted ever going on the date tonight, regretted ever meeting Jungkook, regretted presenting as an Omega. YN regretted being alive. She knew others felt the same way, she'd seen the look in her father's eyes when he had gone to the police station. None of this would've ever happened if she were a beta. YN would be able to get a good education, a good job, a decent place to live. She wouldn't be treated like a third-class citizen because of her sub-gender - she would just be YN. The way she'd been in school before all this happened. The way she spent seventeen years of her life living. Sobs racked throughout her body and she bit into her arm to keep the sound from reaching her neighbors. She didn't want to get into any more trouble tonight.
Exhaustion eventually won over and YN slipped into a restless sleep, plagued by the events of her past and the ones that occurred a few hours earlier.
“So there was nothing you did in high school? No clubs or anything like that?”
YN shook her head, shrugging slightly. "I helped some teachers, dabbled in a couple of things but wasn't like the head cheerleader or class president." Tentatively she reached for her drink, making sure Mark didn't notice her smelling it for anything. It wasn't that he wasn't nice, but one could never be too careful. Mark laughed, "Alright you got me there, but I'll let you know the only reason I became class president is that I promised I'd get us a pool."
“How did that work out?”
“Terrible. The school was convinced our stupid asses would drown or something. Can’t say it wasn’t true.”
YN giggled, taking another bite of her food. Mark was cute and he seemed aware of things, enough to not try too hard. He hadn’t asked to pick her up or asked about exes, he’d agreed to meet at the restaurant and even arrived early. Then again it might also be because they have a friend in between and it was Rosé who’d set them up together. “So YN what school did you go to?” Mark leaned forward resting his face in his hands. The warm lighting in the restaurant cast a nice glow on his features, it made him look more attractive. Or perhaps the alcohol had finally set in.
“I went to Yeong-gwang Academy.” As soon as YN uttered the name Mark’s eyes widened exponentially. “No way, I’ve heard about that school. Isn’t it like a rich kid central or something? Wait didn’t you go to school with the Kims?!” It was an involuntary reaction the way she shivered whenever she heard that name, but her date must not have noticed. He stood waiting for her confirmation and all it took was a curt nod, for the man to begin rambling about all the rumors he’d heard over the years. It was difficult to keep up with them all, but she did manage to correct a few.
“Haven’t you guys been ranked number one school in Korea for like thirty years or something?”
“I think it’s only twenty.”
“I heard all your sports teams are national champions.”
“We only really had like five or so.”
“Don’t you have the largest private collection of flowers in Asia?!”
“Um, it’s Lilies and I think that’s an exaggeration.”
On and on it went, YN was now beginning to regret opening her mouth. She'd heard of Academy fans before, but it was mainly people who wanted to go there and couldn't or alumni. The way Mark spoke about it made her seem like she was an olympiad or a part of history. The date was drawing to an end, YN couldn't help but feel disappointed but it could have gone worse. Mark could have seen her mark and it would've caused conflict, hearing the boy ramble about her school was the lesser of the two evils.
It was when YN lifted her drink to her lips that she sensed it. A hint of musk and the smell of fresh linen, she couldn’t explain how she knew it was him. It was almost instinctual the fear that spread throughout her. As discreetly as she could, YN cast a glance around the room trying to find him almost exhaling with relief when she didn’t. It’s probably a mistake.
“Hey isn’t that Kim Jungkook right there?”
It was said a little too loudly, just enough that YN knew he'd heard it. It didn't take long for her to feel eyes peering at her, goosebumps rose through her arms. Her bite began to throb and YN could feel her heart skip a beat. Mark's eyes focused on him and eventually crawled up, letting her know the alpha was approaching. Now the scent hit her entirely, shaking her to her core. YN gripped the table to steady herself but found that near impossible when the alpha kept sending his pheromones at her.
"Does there seem to be a problem here?" His voice had deepened over the years, no longer the voice of a teenager but that of a man.
"Oh sorry, I didn't mean to call your name so loudly. Um, I'm Mark Lee. A pleasure to meet you." Mark turned his attention towards YN expecting her to acknowledge Jungkook or greet him as a classmate. YN couldn't. She couldn't look at him. It didn't help that there was a tense atmosphere between the two, the tension was palpable and it seemed Mark had enough.
“Aren’t you going to greet him, YN?”
Greet the man responsible for everything wrong in my life, sure. Yn’s eyes trailed upwards from the table to Jungkook’s face until her warm eyes met his golden ones. As YN parted her lips to speak, she felt it: the heat spreading throughout her body. An uncontrollable feeling that raked throughout her body. The fucker was trying to trigger a pseudo-heat. Instantly YN’s grip tightened on the table, her fingertips becoming white as she fought with nature to keep control over herself.
“Do you two know each other?” It seems Mark was catching on and truly she couldn’t blame him if he misunderstood. She would too if the roles were reversed. Suddenly Jungkook turned to face Mark, holding his hand out to greet him.
“I’m Kim Jungkook, her mate.”
"What?! No, he isn't. Don't listen to him, Mark." Her outcry had caused quite a few patrons to turn her way, now all paying close attention to what was happening.
"Uh -" Jungkook quickly interceded whatever Mark was going to say. "Did you not notice her mark? Or do you make a habit of seeking mated people?" At this a few people gasped, Mark looked between the two of them confused. YN snapped, "It's a partial bond. It was never completed so it doesn't mean anything." Her words only confused Mark even more. Whispers from surrounding tables began to reach her ears and it only fueled YN's rage more. This was all a big misunderstanding, but Jungkook was thriving off it. Mark and YN's eyes met as she silently pleaded with him to listen to her.
"Hey beta," Jungkook snapped his fingers together, "look at me." YN should've known she'd lost then and there. As a beta, it was impossible to resist the order of alpha, not to mention one that exuded the stench that Jungkook did.
“You know who I am right?” Mark nodded, eyes wide as if aiming to please. “Then you know don’t you? You know…” When Mark looked back at her, there was sympathy in his eyes. “I’m sorry YN.” was all the beta said before standing up and walking away. YN had so many things to say, so many more explanations, but they all died in her tongue.
Jungkook tsked, “What an asshole. Could’ve at least paid for the meal.” That was the final strand for YN, she gathered her stuff and threw all the money she had down on the table. Walking fast out of the restaurant trying to avoid the judgemental stares directed towards her, she swore some people hissed at her under their breaths. Once outside YN leaned against the side entrance of the restaurant trying to steady her breath and stop the incoming tears.
"YN. Hey!" Jungkook raced out the front, staring around panicked until his gaze landed on her. YN tried to walk away, but his long legs gave him an advantage and he reached her in a few steps. "Please YN. I'm sorry, I just- I couldn't control myself." YN rolled her eyes, trying to push the alpha aside.
“No please YN look.” His hands gripped her forearms and tugged her close to him. “I’ve been trying to find you, we’ve been trying to find you. But you disappeared off the map.”
“That’s because of you. I left because of you.” YN tried to get him to release her arms, but his hold was too tight. “Wasn’t it enough for you? Isn’t it enough for you? You ruined my life and my reputation Jungkook. The least you could do is leave me alone.” She was begging at this point, trying to make him see reason.
“I can’t leave you alone, YN. You’re my mate.”
“You already have mates Jungkook. Fucking six of them! How could you want more?!”
“It isn’t like that and you know it. You’re all our mates. You're the pack omega, you just don’t see it yet.”
This wasn’t the first time Jungkook had tried to excuse his behavior by using the pack bond. Yes, it was true all seven of them shared it but that didn’t mean she did too. “Omega’s don’t have the pack bond, Jungkook. Stop trying to lie.” YN couldn’t see what he gained from this.
“I’m not lying. It’s rare but it happens, please if you just speak to Namjoon you’ll see-”
“Leave me alone Jungkook.” YN mustered all her strength and managed to finally push him off. The alpha looked shocked at her display of aggression, YN strongly desired to hit him but knew it wouldn’t end well if she triggered his instincts. “I’d rather die alone than be mated to you.” YN could see the spear driven through the boy’s heart because she felt something similar go through hers. YN let out a shaky breath, she leaned over resting on her knees for fear of falling over.
"I get it. I'm sorry, I ruined your date. I embarrassed you in front of all those people and that wasn't right. I'm sorry YN, I truly am. For everything, I've ever done to you. But it doesn't change the truth. You know this isn't something I can lie about: you are my mate. Our mate."
YN groaned and went to walk away, knowing that there wouldn't be an end to Jungkook's madness. As she walked past the shaken alpha, he grasped her hand placing something in it. "If you ever need anything, don't hesitate, please." YN didn't even spare him a look as she walked away. It wasn't until she could no longer smell him that YN broke down, her body shaking as she tried to hold it all in. She was still in a public place and a vulnerable omega might draw unwanted attention. YN took a deep breath and steadied herself. Heading straight to her apartment and refusing to look back.
A loud abrupt ringing awoke YN from her sleep, she jumped so high she practically touched the ceiling. Grabbing the phone, she saw Rosé’s contact picture pop-up on the screen. It was rare for her to call, especially since it was nearly six a.m.
“Hey.”
“YN? Oh my god.” Rosé’s tone was panicked and YN could hear the way she panted. “Someone broke into my apartment while I was sleeping.”
“What?! Are you alright?!” YN jumped out of bed and raced to put on pants and hoodie, before grabbing her keys and wallet. “Where are you?”
“I’m at the police station. I couldn’t see very clearly, but they’re looking at security cam footage from around the area to figure out who it is.”
“I’m on my way. Did you call Lucas?” Lucas was Rosé’s foster sibling, his husband worked in the police and was certain to make the whole process smoother.
Rosé hesitated, “He isn't answering. Please come, I’m here alone and I-”
“It’s alright I’ll be there soon I promise.” YN had managed to wave down a cab and told him to drive as quickly as he could.
The sight of her best friend in tears triggered something innate in YN. She pulled Rosé into a hug and refused to let her go, terrified at the thought of what could have happened to her friend. "It's alright, I'm here." Rosé dug her head into YN's neck using her scent to calm her nerves and trying to muffle her cries. Already she could feel the sympathetic stares of some of the officers. Out of the corner of her eye, YN saw someone approaching his bloodshot eyes, and the tall way in which he stood made it seem like he owned the place.
"I told you to call your mate, not your girlfriend." He remarked voice dull yet mocking. Rosé stepped away from YN turning towards him, "I don't have a mate and my brother isn't answering." Her tone was meek and eyes were downcast, YN knew she wasn't a confrontational person and this event likely further caused her to become more introverted. The cop rolled his eyes, "Where is your mate then?" He turned his attention towards YN, now she could see the name inscribed on his uniform: Officer Hwang. "I don't have one." Her tone was too blunt, YN knew she could see the way his eyebrows raised at it.
“Don’t lie to me, I can see your mark.”
“I don’t have a mate.”
Annoyance was now visible in Hwang's tone before his eyes widened. "Ah, now I get it." The officer turned back towards one of his colleagues and called out, "Bo, it seems we have a cat house on our hands." Rosé's eyes widened and YN spoke quickly, words tumbling out of her mouth. "No. You're misunderstanding." Bo had already stood up from his desk and was making his way towards them.
“Ladies if you could please follow me.”
The two of them were talking over each other trying to explain the situation, but the officers had made up their minds about what was occurring. YN cast a glance around the room trying to find anyone who could help them, but everyone kept their eyes downward. They'd been titled as prostitutes and it would be difficult to change people's minds. Officer Bo guided them, pushed would've been a better term, towards the basement where the holding cells were.
“Please sir, you’ve misunderstood.”
Officer Hwang shrugged, a cruel smirk on his face. “Call your alpha then and everything will be solved.” YN resigned herself as they were dragged downstairs and locked up.
Rosé and YN were separated in different cells while a guard stood watching. Tears streamed endlessly down her best friend's face, whilst YN told herself that hers were tears of frustration rather than humiliation at everything that had occurred tonight. Eventually, as they hit the two-hour mark the guard spoke up, "I'd call your mates if I were you. The boarding house bus swing's by at nine." Both omegas stilled in fear at his words. YN turned towards Rosé, "Ro can't you try your brother?" She was pleading with her friend, but Rosé shook her head. "He won't come." There was something she wasn't telling her, but YN figured now was not the moment to press it.
“Don’t you know someone who can help YN? What about Mark?”
Mark would be no help, considering everything that went down at the date it would be a further embarrassment to ask him to come to pick her up at the station. If he even answered that is. Unless? No, there was no way. Her pride wouldn’t be able to take it.
"Thirty minutes, girls."
It seemed as if fate was pushing her into a corner. YN had heard about what kind of things occurred to Omega's who were taken to the boarding house, it was not a nice place. It certainly didn't provide the comfort or protection that was promised to unmated troubled omegas. Hesitantly YN cleared her throat, "Can I please make a call?"
