no problem! just to share more where i’m coming from, here is an excerpt of an article about it and how i see it more as a contribution than as a song she wrote. mostly i see it as a song with themes that she could connect to rather than a specific depiction of a memory for her, if that makes sense.

#like i kind of see it as taylor contributing to matt’s story that he’s conveyed through his work about his relationship with his wife #and not the other way around #the point to consider is how taylor was able to take a song with this subject matter and understand and contribute to it so quickly #that’s my main takeaway. that it suggest taylor’s understanding of long term relationships #which is a worthwhile point because a lot of gaylors like to paint her as someone who hops from woman to woman
