fanon often depicts Jason with the typical “you’re not my dad” type angst because that’s part of the stereotypical prodigal son and father dynamic people are used to, but when you look at canon Bruce has probably denied being Jason’s father more than Jason has denied being his son. Also, in pre-52 Jason is the one who reaches out to Bruce (even if his way of reaching out is objectively kinda insane) and in nu52 and beyond when Jason is in his redemption era he’s the one who’s doing all the compromising in their relationship

I know that technically when a god dies they die completely, unable to reenter the cycle of life and death, but the way a god dies is by all their believers abandoning them. Shi Wudu was decapitated by He Xuan, but I don’t think that necessarily destroyed his following. After the main series, it’s plausible for Shi Wudu to reform (whether as a god or a ghost) out of devotion and love for his brother, now with the purpose to save Shi Qingxuan from his inevitable death.

I totally agree with you. I think Tommy’s freak out was probably derived from past experiences of his. And him being afraid of getting hurt again which I think is fair.

I was honestly optimistic on them resolving the situation by having buck reassure him that he does see a future with him and that he can be his first and his last. And would have come back stronger from it.

And then those interviews hit and just like that… it’s over?

it's literally the interviews that threw me for a loop bc nothing makes sense. the way tommy was in every part of the previous ep, the previous ep ending with that hopeful scene, there being no negative signs for them ever, the breakup scene following josh's words about people like him and tommy making bad choices in fear sometimes. i won't even mention the general picture with last year's interview stating that they wanted tommy bc they wanted a love interest that could be written easier into the show and wouldn't fizzle out and the optimism for buck's storyline going forward looking different. like all of this feels like building ground for this to be a wrench in their relationship that they resolve and get stronger in the aftermath. i didn't think for one moment it was permanent while watching till i saw the interviews.

It's not actually that hard to not make a female character's entire arc about motherhood or being guy characters' love interests or what have you I think you guys just need to become better writers

But what if Eddie realizes he's in love with Buck when he finally remembers everything about the day he was shot? We've seen him say he remembers things but what if he didn't remember everything? What if he doesn't remember his blood smeared all over Buck, on his face, on his hands, on his tongue? What if he doesn't remember trying to call out to Buck but only managing to mouth his name soundlessly? What if he doesn't remember the way he reached out to Buck while bleeding his life out onto the asphalt? What if he doesn't remember thinking Oh, it's him, it's always been him. I should've told him and now it's too late.

What if he finally remembers it all and he sees Buck laughing with the team, shining bright like he's Eddie's personal sun and Eddie is drawn to him like he's Icarus and thinks oh fuck. He had realized he was in love with Buck and forgotten.

And now he remembers. And now...oh.

(and he thinks, like Icarus, is he doomed to fall short and burn his wings before he reaches his sun?)

Been a couple of years, but I still think fondly of Grace Monroe from Infinity Train for achieving that very rare redemption arc narrative of "the people you hurt are allowed to sever all ties, and you can still become a better, happier person."

Still waiting on someone to explain why Wanda is “The Harbinger of Chaos”, the “Chaos Queen”, and her magic is called “Chaos Magic” when she literally has nothing to do with chaos. Like.. nothing. Okay so I don't know Latin. But I know a little bit of Latin, enough to generally know how the grammar works, and I know French, and the roots are pretty identical, so I can usually read Latin fine, because it's almost French, and I know the differences in grammar well enough to be able to make sense of it.

That said -- and maybe I just know less about how Latin works than I thought and I'm totally wrong here --, the Latin in LG's notebook just... doesn't make sense. Like from what I can tell, it's words that mean things mashed into sentences that don't. Or sometimes just straight up lorem ipsum but I'm not counting that. But like people who know Latin well can make sense of it I'm sure, and even I can get the gist, but that doesn't mean it's well-written Latin.

So for this to work in the context of the series, I'm deciding to interpret this not as meta misuse of Latin but instead as LG knowing enough Latin words to encrypt what he's writing but not knowing enough Latin for literally anyone else to read it and effectively understand what these sentences are coming together to mean. Which is maybe genius of him. And also maybe really stupid of him. Which I think is what makes a smart decision. Good call, Lu Guang.

you know . i keep saying that i’m gonna make a post abt chapter 268 and i probably will as soon as i can get my thoughts in order but ………. i’ve been thinking a lot about the conclusion to sukuna’s and yuji’s relationship . and even though i wish we had more buildup beforehand i do think the ending itself is really really good…. even if sukuna is technically yuji’s uncle, yuji’s soul still represents the soul of the younger brother sukuna ate in the womb, so for yuji to accept sukuna, to not curse him at the very last moment…. it feels very . intentional. like the younger brother is forgiving the older brother for doing what he had to do to survive. sukuna rejects the forgiveness, which makes sense, but i wonder if he felt that way too…. that he was being pitied, forgiven, and loved by the first weakling he devoured……..
