opinion on april 9th?

april 9th as in the tragedy of april the 9th when the soviet army attacked innocent civilians who were fighting for their freedom?... yea pretty gut-wrenching and tragic, that's my opinion on it.

(of course from what I've discussed with my family, there are a lot more different political angles you can look from at it but politics makes my head hurt AND altogether, that tragedy shows that ussr was just a bundle of evilness and bloodthirsty monsters even when it was on the verge of crumbling down 🤷🏻‍♀️)

as someone from the U.S. who definitely has no cold tolerance, this is genuinely funny lol

However! Funny though it may be, water and air are two very different matters when it comes to hypothermia and cold risk. I'm not a physicist, but basically water moves heat away from your body faster than air. While being outside for a few hours in 55F/13C air is fine, if you're submerged in water of that temperature for a few hours without protective gear, you literally die.

Anyway, this isn't to start discourse or turn a fun joke into Science™️, it's just a psa to be careful in water that is significantly colder than around 75F/24C. Sources below with more details :) Stay safe y'all!

Okay but seariously, sea otters always gotta be hot to go to survive in the chilly waters of the Monterey Bay. Inside their exhibit where our dancers, er, divers are cleaning is the same temperature as the bay thanks to our open water system—on average about 55 degrees fahrenheit or 13 degrees celsius. Thick wetsuits and, of course, fun dances keep the humans warm while they work, much like layers of air trapped in a sea otter’s thick pelt keeps them warm. The sea otters haven’t quite figured out how to dance though…

ok this pic is absolutely adorable but like. is there anyone out there actually saying this ?? like. my entire time in the fandom I have come across exactly 1 (one) levi hater & it was quite recently, & honestly they seemed more intent on just being a hater to this one specific blog they seemed to have beef with, it just so happened that they were using levi as a vessel for their hate. like. levi is one of the most popular anime characters ever right? I get so confused by posts like this.

regarding the cereal poll, I think part of the reason eating cereal sounds so baffling to myself and other americans is because cereal is seen very much as like. super quick and easy breakfast. so not only is warm milk cereal odd to us in general, but we also are inherently put off by the idea of adding another step to what's supposed to be an extremely "easy" meal 😅

but also, I get that. I understand. sometimes I'm the morning I can barely get up, let alone heat up my milk for cereal. but also I'm a little freak and I'm not consistent with the hours that I eat cereal at, it can be a breakfast, a dinner, a supper, idrc. so it's usually not a problem for me to spend 8 MINUTES heating up my milk on a stove. and cereal with heated milk just tastes better yk, it brings out the flavor
