two of my biggest stances on dsmp analysis is that anything that happens in audience view is canon and that because of the nature of the medium (live collaborative rp), it's always good to take a doylist look at things.
the latter i've talked about a lot before in regards to things like the syndicate being friends (the argument being they're not, specifically c!niki and c!ranboo, because we never see them bonding) though it also applies to things like why certain events took place when they did. and how those things are understandable because of real life things that would've hampered or prevented them from happening.
but there's one moment in dsmp canon that drives that fact home, that really shows that sometimes things might happen more so either because real life interferes or because doing otherwise would impede on another person's planned story line: c!ranboo's death and c!techno's reaction to it.
specifically the fact he was in the presence of a character who can bring people back from the dead - something techno acknowledges - and doesn't ask. he says to c!phil as c!dream is walking away that dream can revive people but doesn't actually make an effort to go ask him. and when he's speaking to dream later, he also doesn't ask.
there's no doubt that techno is immensely fond of ranboo, that he cares about them. he's deeply upset and hurt by ranboo's death! it is out of character that he would acknowledge the ability to revive ranboo and not pursue that.
but doing so would've kinda put out other people's story plans so it doesn't happen. just like the syndicate bonding/training didn't happen or other events took longer to happen for reasons related to offline events.
i don't really know what the point of this post is other than to finally put some things into words that have been bothering me for years.
#loyal talks about stuff and things#not tagging anything else#this is really just to get it off my chest#that ranboo revive book death thing has been eating me up

ok finally finale posting I think the original ending was supposed to be c!Sapnap killing c!Punz and c!Dream using his three lives and dying in the process. unfortunately, they never touched it.
I'm gonna do something similar to what @dsmp-lainey did and just read out my disc 2022 finale headcanon in an alternate universe where Dream respects other people's lore and Sapnap shows up for basically anything. I did entirely write this like a dsmp wiki summary of an arc so bear with me if you hate those.
and also it is really long.
tubbo tommy and sapnap all band together to kill dream. it's july when sapnap meets with tommy and tubbo after months of being in hiding. they build a bunker off stream, despite tommy's paranoia and that's where sapnap tells the both of them about the Book of Death. He trusts tubbo with it until the plan is set. tubbo keeps it on his person at all times. neither are aware as tommy spirals into insanity.
sapnap makes progress checks with tubbo and tommy; how plans and further research is going. tubbo and sapnap develop a pact. it's unsure and built on a promise neither are sure they can keep, but tubbo promises if sapnap reveals as much as he can, tubbo will do the same.
in the same stream, sapnap goes to check on tommy and finds him in a bit under his house, messily dug out and only lit up by lichen. He greets sapnap, visibly disheveled and coughing and sputtering. fading in and out(?) and talking... Off. the entire time they talk he mines out more and more webs and tunnels from his house and keeps lining them with tnt. sapnap, not knowing what to do, coaxes tommy into the same promise as tubbo. he then leaves up the ladder, not knowing tommy's downing an invisibility potion beneath him. tommy later has a scare as an empty potion bottle lands on a plate of tnt.
a couple weeks later, tubbo and sapnap are deep within the bunker, discussing the revival book. tommy comes in, bursting off the walls, talking with the most glee they've heard from him in months. all the stuff he knows dream and punz are doing he's got them all figured out. he knows their sleep schedules and what time they eat, what time they think and what time they leave the building. tommy talks so much when sapnap shakes him it is only then he realizes how incoherent he sounds. "tommy. what are you talking about?" tubbo gets up from his seat. tommy explains he's been following dream and punz around for the past several weeks. he figured out their every move and it feels so. "tommy." sapnap's grip sinks into his shoulders. "were you followed?" "followed?"
the door upstairs opens and footsteps can be heard.
sapnap stops. looks between the two of them. "run"
sapnap was slain by dream
the hideout is burned down by dream and punz. they never find out; they never go back. it's almost october. now with even less gear and whatever books they could carry. sapnap is on two lives now. everyone is considerably less confident. sapnap has been adamant that neither of them use their lives, but now it's going to take both of sapnap's lives to kill dream. tommy doesn't try to stop him. he's too tired.
every time they miss a single thing from their list of items, they swap base. scorched earth everything and run as if they never existed there in the first place. eventually tubbo directs them to his nuke base, empty of a nuke. tommy asks why he never mentioned this. tubbo says it was a last resort. he explains the effects of nuclear warheads what they do to the surrounding area. "it's worse than l'manberg." nothing survives, he calls it. nothing can grow back. nothing, nothing, nothing at all.
for several weeks, they don't see the sun. they grow food using tommy's shitty farming method and occassionally, ranboo brings them food and gift baskets. tubbo wishes in private he could stay down there with them. he misses him family.
before they launch the mini-nuke as tubbo calls it, he'll ask tommy about the invis potions. "jesus tubbo wasn't that fucking ages ago" "tom, I'm serious." tommy says he only used them to spy on dream. tubbo asks if he has one in his offhand. tommy asks him about the pufferfish. tubbo says that's not relevant. they have the first honest conversation they've had since the disc war. possibly before. tubbo thinks it's a final goodbye. tommy can't be sure tubbo's not lying to him.
within that time, tubbo has built a rocket not as big as a nuke, but large enough to blast a hole through the prison. they're banking on the server being dead enough, only they'll have to deal with the consequences. while tubbo and tommy keep dream and punz busy, sapnap will be on the sidelines, trying to kill one of them.
they get in position. a massive hole explodes through the siding of the prison. tubbo joins the vc. "if you know what's good for you, you'll drop your weapons and come out."
dream and punz gather at the side of the blast hole, suddenly taking radiation damage. they rush backward, as tommy and tubbo swarm in with hasmat suits.
sapnap hides underground, relying on his communicator and downing water-breathing potions in the meantime.
dream says some bullshit about how he always wins, how he gets up every turn. punz starts coughing. "punz?"
punz was killed by admin command
sapnap was killed by admin command
dream doesn't move for a second. tubbo, taking no chances, charges him. He doesn't allow him a single hit out of pure blind adrenaline he keeps hitting until dream's on half a heart. dream calls out to tubbo and doesn't even get to finish his sentence.
dream was killed by admin command
sapnap was killed by admin command
"What?" tubbo stares at the message in shock. tommy sputters. "we... we almost had him—he didn't have to—"
It's, with a heavier heart, they realize Dream didn't have the revival book. Both then flee the scene, back to snowchester.
Tomorrow, Foolish and Eret will fight XD. They will send everyone home or lose. But today, Dream is dead, tubbo and tommy are packing Michael's bags, and all is good, if only for three seconds. or maybe, 24 hours.
#I would like to clarify this is not my idea of a perfect finale. probably not even a good one. but all the people I dislike are dead!#dream smp finale#c!tubbo#c!tommy#tommyinnit#tubbo underscore#dsmp#dream smp

---
- Ponk starts off in the cobblestone pyramid base.
- Ponk looks at the photos on his walls and puts on his shoes.
“Chat...today, we make the supreme fridge. We lost a friend -- it should’ve been Eret, okay? In all honest, it should’ve been Eret...it’s sad. It’s all so sad to think a friend of mine -- another friend! -- betrayed me like this, you know?”
“I guess...Purpled won’t be needing our supplies anymore.”
- Chat thinks Ponk doing a deep voice sounds like Sam.
- Ponk wants to make it up to Foolish, and what better to do than make him a supreme fridge? He still has the cake Foolish gave him at the Banquet. He had no idea.
- He starts mining down the Netherite blocks. Purpled won’t be needing these anymore.
- Ponk then goes over to Niki’s city to retrieve supplies.
- Badboyhalo is like that one friend who’s way too into a pyramid scheme and tried to get everyone else involved.
- When a dono points out that Ponk still got involved in the scheme, Ponk replies:
“I mean...look. The pyramid scheme gave me structure to my life, alright? What kind of structure did I have before then? Huh? Think about it. What was I doing? Who was I sharing my thoughts with, chat? Exactly. So anything with structure was probably better than that, you know?”
“‘I had Sam?’ I had Sam. Chat. What did Sam do to me?”
- Ponk makes it to the ocean monument farm.
- Sam joins the game.
Ponk: hello...
Sam: You’re cute :)
Sam: Later <3
- He leaves. Purpled joins the game.
Ponk: So
Ponk: LOOK WHO IS HERE
Purpled: hi ponk
Ponk: DONT HI PONK ME
Purpled: ok
Purpled: bye ponk
- Purpled leaves. Ponk realizes he missed out on his chance to play Bedwars with him.
- Ponk gets a message back and goes to play Bedwars.
- Foolish notices the renovations and new obsidian layer on L’Sandburg. It doesn’t actually look too bad, and he decides he might keep it.
- After Bedwars, Ponk returns to the cobblestone pyramid to get things. He takes a closer look at the photos again. Sam is crossed out with red in one.
- Ponk waits at the Community House for Foolish. He has a photo of him and Foolish and a cake.
- Foolish asks what happened at the Banquet. Ponk boats over to him, but Foolish notices his eyes are still red.
- Ponk tells him that he never knew Foolish was going to get hurt. He was just the coat man.
Ponk: “Look at me! Does this look like someone like the guest of honor? No, alright? To have to serve people that have betrayed me, Foolish! How do you think that hurt? And then to see you! Taken up there by my friends, alright! I don’t know.”
- He tells Foolish that they’ve had good times together, that he saved the cake Foolish gave him. He gives Foolish the cake. When Foolish worries it might be poisoned, he says they can eat it together.
- Bad said he’d found armor in a chest and gave it to Ponk. Ponk didn’t know he was going to need it.
- Foolish asks how he knows this isn’t some sort of trap. Ponk tells him that he wants to make it up to Foolish.
Ponk: “Obviously, you can’t trust me and I know that, right. But I wanna make it up to you. Okay? Trust is something I hold very dear to me, and for me to break it, alright...be it from a third party’s perspective, okay? I didn’t have much to do with this Banquet, Foolish, you have to understand me.”
Foolish: “You’re telling me the Egg isn’t in control of you right now, is what you’re saying?”
Ponk: “The Egg helps me, Foolish. It gives me structure, okay?”
Foolish: “Do you still believe the Egg is some kind of good thing? Do you believe it’s actually something you should have in your like?”
- Ponk tells him to walk with him. Foolish points out he led the attack on his temple, all for the Egg.
Foolish: “You did it for the Egg! Thinking you would like, impress it or something, like it would give you more! What’s the real problem, Ponk? You haven’t explained. What’s the real problem? Your hand, like what’s with your hand -- what’s with the Egg in the first place--”
- Ponk tells him they don’t talk about the hand. That’s something he has to deal with. But he’s truly sorry, and he’s going to build Foolish a supreme fridge.
- Foolish is still concerned about the eyes. Ponk says the eyes mean nothing. Foolish doesn’t know how much Ponk has lost, who he’s lost.
- Foolish snaps, saying he died. Does Ponk know how scary a thing that is? Ponk replies that he does know, but Foolish is taking it out of proportion.
Ponk: “A quick death, or a slow, painful one, Foolish? Come on, man.”
- Ponk will still lay the foundations for the fridge. Even if Foolish chases him off, he will come back, day after day, to build the fridge and prove that he’s a good person.
- The Egg provides free Starbucks, and that is worth it.
- Foolish says he can’t trust Ponk until the red eyes and everything in his system are gone. Ponk says it will all be explained in time.
- Foolish has had enough and leaves. He heads back to the summer home. Ponk got him thinking about death again. He makes it back to the green light to calm down.
- Foolish then goes to continue building, to finish the mansion.
- Tommy wasn’t there for the Banquet. The Blood Vines are gone from the path now, and he is not afraid of the Egg. He wonders where it went.
- He has something to do today. He heads over to Snowchester to meet with Tubbo. Tubbo and Ranboo come over to the mansion.
- Tommy pulls Tubbo aside to speak with him alone. He asks Tubbo about how, after the Disc War Finale, he gave Tubbo the Nightmare armor set. He wants it back.
- He asks for Tubbo’s help with some things, but doesn’t want Ranboo there.
- Tubbo takes Tommy into the Snowchester vault. Tommy says he’ll give the rest back, but he wants to keep the Totem of Undying. Tommy puts on Dream’s armor.
- Next, Tommy and Tubbo go over to Pogtopia to retrieve Tommy’s sword. They open Sam’s vault door and Tommy gathers his things.
- Tommy and Tubbo go mine some obsidian in Pogtopia. He needs obsidian and blackstone.
- He gets home and cleans up the blood on the Prime Path. Ranboo arrives and gives him more stacks of obsidian.
- He explains to Tubbo and Ranboo that in a few days’ time, things are going to change, and he’s not strong enough yet. He wants to face the things he’s scared of.
- Tommy mines below the watchtower. He wants to create two bunkers. One that replicates the Final Control Room, and one that replicates the prison.
- Tommy asks if either of them have been to the prison. Ranboo says no, Sam doesn’t let him in. Tubbo says Sam didn’t let him in either.
- He tells Ranboo and Tubbo that he’s afraid of taking damage.
- Tommy’s heard rumors about the Panic Room and asks Ranboo what it was. Ranboo says it was just a room he went to when he got stressed, kind of like what Tommy’s making but the opposite.
- After they finish the bunkers, Tommy leads them all to Logstedshire. Tommy walks around, looking at everything there and remembering what happened.
- Next, Tommy goes to visit the exact recreations of the rooms in the museum. He meets Eret on the Prime Path.
- He asks Ranboo and Tubbo to lock him in for a minute and walks into the Final Control Room, talking through his feelings, pressing the button like he did when it happened.
- Tommy starts looking through the chests and finds the book that Eret left for Wilbur named “I’m Sorry.”
Tommy: “It’s okay...it’s okay because times have changed, and so have people. Not all people...but most.”
- They leave the museum and Tommy asks Tubbo to stab him with a sword.
- Tommy then goes into the recreation they made of the prison cell. He starts panicking and asks to be let out. Tubbo and Ranboo let him out. He tells them that in the next few days, it’s all going to change. He’s going to try and do what he should’ve done a long time ago.
- Tommy gives Ranboo a hug and thanks him for helping. He asks Ranboo to leave, then tells Tubbo to come up the watchtower with him.
- There, he tells Tubbo about dying and coming back. He and Tubbo had the chance to kill Dream and they didn’t, but now, Tommy’s going to break into the prison and do it.
- He needs from Tubbo a couple of things, and Tubbo can’t tell anyone -- even Ranboo -- about this. He needs Tubbo’s help to get him several invisibility potions, defenses stronger than TNT: withers.
- People are going to be upset with him because getting rid of Dream will get rid of the revival book. Tommy says the revive book isn’t worth it to keep him alive. Being in between life and death was worse than just staying dead.
- Most of all, he needs Tubbo to trust him.
Tommy: “This isn’t the right thing to do, Tubbo. It’s the only thing to do.”
- He tells Tubbo he’ll see him soon and leaves.
- Tubbo and Ranboo go off to fight some wither skeletons for skulls.
- Later, Ranboo goes mining with Tubbo in VC.

Upcoming events remain the same.

I know I’ll probably be stabbed for this but I’ve been wanting to write this for a long time and like. After last night’s stream I’m starting to think Ponk was right. Like, Sam used to be the only one looking out for the minors like he did. He used to go around giving people pumpkin pie, made a robot for a kid’s mental health, fought against his whole friend group just because he didn’t want a kid to be put under more prosecution that he has already. He refused to kill Dream because he believed Tommy wanted him alive for the revive book. He blamed himself for Tommy’s death, and took Ranboo’s book and wrote in it that it was His Own Fault in an attempt to stop Ranboo from believing it was his own fault. He actually fought against his whole friend group because he wanted to keep Tommy safe and keep the egg away and got locked up in there for days to the point he had to eat his own flesh to survive.
Sam has done so much to protect the children of the smp, he lived up to his word when he said he wanted to protect them. But the prison has changed things. His new goal has came to keeping Dream inside the prison, keeping everyone who can die away from the prison and Dream. Because of the prison and his goal to protect the prison he took his canon life over books that didn’t work anymore and he cut off his ex’s arm off in the front yard of the prison. He has devoted most of his time to keeping people away from the prison, protecting the prison, and being inside it. Most recently, while in the prison, he said that Tommy was the biggest security risk to the prison and repeated over and over that he should kill him, he should kill him and Tommy should be dead. He said “The only reason you aren’t dead-“ and didn’t continue.
It’s obvious he still wants to help the kids, that he still cares for them. Even when Ranboo went to visit him he refused to arrest the kid. He didn’t let him insist for long. But, he ended up pulling his sword out. As he sat right in front of the prison reassuring this kid that he was a good person.
On top of that he seems to think the solution to other Big Bads is to just lock them up and let them suffer. He sees the egg and just like Dream he says he’s going to lock it up. Right now Sam is taking a fucking beating from talking to Dream so much and hearing him talk about killing him and breaking out and all this stuff. And Dream never locked Sam up, left him with nothing but his own flesh to eat. Sam would not be able to handle guarding both Dream and the egg. But it speaks volumes about his complex where, as he told Foolish playing as Sam, he has to hold everything in himself and can not talk to anyone about it and he can’t let anyone hold the burden he carries. There are no sunrises for him, there is nothing. Besides protecting the smp from Dream. Nothing besides keeping the smp safe.
And Ponk, Sam’s ex, his best friend, the one who knows the most about him. When he woke up in his torture chamber to die and respawn until he gave the old out of date key cards after his first canon death was taken. When they were sitting there talking Ponk said:
“You say you have a problem with the egg, huh? You have a problem with the egg controlling you and whatnot? Is the prison not controlling you? Huh? Can you not see yourself being controlled?”
After seeing a man escaping to an island over grief for a kid’s death he blamed himself for “i made my first mistake as warden”, it feels wild to see Sam threaten that same kid’s life. And it really feels like Ponk might have been right.
during that encounter Ponk also said to Sam after another death: “Do you not see what the prison is doing to you Sam? Look at yourself! This isn’t the Sam I know.”
“Don’t you think this is going a bit too far? Look, you built this, for me? The prison has taken over your mind, Sam.”

Let’s talk about Big Q, shall we?
As always, I’ve got stuff to say about Quackity (the character). And after today’s streams, I’ve got a few things to say/point out. I did not stay up to write this 2,343 word character analysis, no I did not.
Right off the bat I noticed how uncharastically quiet Big Q was during the whole thing. He wasn’t streaming it today either (yeah, he streamed later, but still) and I just thought that it was interesting. He had his moments where he was himself (cursing, being loud, taking off his clothes) but there were moments where he was just,, uncharastically quiet.
On top of that, these quiet moments were spent staring at Ranboo. At least, his character was positioned so that it was looking directly at him and it’s rather unnerving, especially with that smiley face skin. Then when Dream reveals Ranboo to be a “traitor” Quackity even said, “I fucking knew it”, so something tells me that he’s been suspecting Ranboo for sometime now.
When they were at the festival too, he was acting odd. On top of staring at Ranboo from time to time, he approached Ranboo about him wearing armor in L’Manburg. Of course, wearing armor in L’Manburg isn’t permitted, but it was raining and Ranboo is half enderman. Quackity seemed to really be angry with Ranboo for breaking that law, albeit he was hiding most of his anger, but I’m sure that Ranboo has worn armor before within the walls of L’Manburg. So why all of a sudden? Why call it out? Then when he asked Tubbo about it and Tubbo said that they could make the exception, Quackity responded with “Alright, whatever you say Mr. President '' in the most passive aggressive voice that even I felt attacked.
On top of that little moment, Quackity excused himself from a Festival game to “go get something”. Granted he didn’t seem to take that long (I didn’t really get a number) but while he was gone he was whispering to Tubbo about when Dream was coming. But I just thought it was weird that he just disappeared like that. When he came back, of course, he didn’t have anything. Not even Tubbo knew what he was doing. But no one seemed to question it at all afterwards.
Let’s also talk about how nervous Big Q seemed about the Dream confrontation. He was clearly worried that Dream might not show. He was nervous, he admitted that he was. When he went up against Techno, someone he’s feared for a while now, he wasn’t nervous. He was confident. He even PVPed him, but all of a sudden with Dream he’s nervous? We’ve seen him stand up to Dream before (Mexican L’Manburg) so why would he be worried about whether Dream shows or not?
And of course, we can’t forget to mention his skin changes. I thought I was seeing things when Quackity’s profile in the list of members on the smp showed up as a frowny face. I thought that was just some kind of glitch or something because it would go back to normal a few seconds later. And I noticed that there seemed to be something wrong with his face. When he would turn, it seemed like his face wasn’t connected. And wouldn’t you know, I wasn’t seeing things. Several times today in the ruined Community House, Quackity had the unnerving frown (and a bald head) and when he was talking to Tubbo about Ranboo, he kept turning and it was very clear that the smiley face is a mask and the true face of Quackity is a frown.
Speaking of his discussion with Tubbo about Ranboo, let’s talk about that whole ordeal, yeah? When I thought they had dropped it, moved past the need to talk about Ranboo’s book and involvement with Techno and Tommy, Big Q drops the bomb by demanding that they execute them. Thank god Tubbo was able to talk some sense into him (PTSD will do that to you), but it was still yet another account of Big Q wanting to see some bloodshed. And he was awfully persistent about it, to the point where it was concerning.
And going back on what I said in a previous post about Big Q always wanting power, right from the elections, I got my confirmation about it in Tubbo’s stream today at an hour and thirty three minutes.
“Tubbo, listen to me. What you need is order, Tubbo. The fucking issue is that there’s no order in L’Manburg. Nothing that’s been happening up to this point has been order... I want what’s best for the country. That’s what I’ve wanted since the very beginning, Tubbo. If not then I wouldn’t have ran! I want to be President Tubbo, I want to do something good”
Whether it’s an obsession with power, a need to maintain order, following governmental ideals, or an actual want to do some good, you can’t deny that Quackity’s character has always wanted power, an opportunity to prove himself. And maybe because L’Manburg keeps failing him, keeps failing to give him those right opportunities to do so, that’s why he leaves. He’s frustrated with the country, so he just...leaves.
And if Quackity’s Greek parallel is indeed Icarus (I think Techno mentioned it once in a stream) then power would be his hubris, his downfall. His want for power and need for order are going to be the sun that’s going to melt his wings. If he is working with Dream to get power, isn’t that the LITERAL definition of “flying too close to the sun”?
Also, this is a little unrelated. But in Bastille’s song “Icarus” there’s a line that goes, “You put up your defenses when you leave. You leave because you’re certain of who you want to be,” and I just think that’s very fitting for Quackity in terms of what just happened.
There was a lot that happened with Big Q’s character today, and seeing as he’s my favorite on the SMP (aside from Sam of course) I was thrilled with today’s streams. But in terms of where these new developments might lead, I’m a little worried. So yeah, I’ve got theories.
We discussed this in the Awesamdude discord, but the possibility of Quackity being a suspect for the destruction of the Community House came up. Here are a few reasons why he is one of the prime suspects (the other being Dream):
Quackity left during the Festival to “go get something” and this could’ve been the perfect chance for him to go and grief the Community House.
Though we know that Dream hates Quackity and Quackity hates Dream, it’s possible that they’ve made a deal. Dream could’ve promised Quackity the power he’s wanted since day one. Whether that be in guaranteeing that El Rapids can remain a country, or after Dream destroys L’Manburg, Quackity can come out on the top. He can have what remains. It would be an easy way out for Quackity after being dismissed time after time again and denied the chance to prove himself and build the ideal government.
That could explain why he was worried about Dream showing up or not. He wasn’t worried about the deal Dream made to Tubbo (showing up without armor), it was more so the deal Dream made with Quackity and getting the power that Dream promised.
Not to mention, it also benefits Dream as well. By getting Quackity on his side by using power as leverage, he’s able to eliminate one of the few threats to him on the SMP. True, I’m sure he’ll betray him in the end/use him, but right now he needs to focus on Tommy and the discs. He needs to get Quackity out of the way, so by siding with him and making a deal, it makes things easier for Dream.
And if Quackity is possessed by Schlatt, Dream was an old ally to Schlatt, so if Schlatt took control during the deal, then it would make sense why it was made.
It’s possible and very likely that this isn’t the case though. They really do seem to hate each other and Quackity is very adamant about killing Dream. But maybe it’s all just an act? Maybe it’s just all a plot to ease sus off of Quackity.
But why and how could Quackity leave his friends like that so easily? Oh boy, lemme tell you..
I will never let go of possession Quackity/Reviving Schlatt AU.
If Quackity is possessed then it would make sense why he’s able to let go of his friends so easily. Schlatt might be manipulating him behind the scenes and thus cause Quackity to lose trust in his friends. Schlatt felt betrayed by everyone (as he should) and might be telling Quackity that the same will happen to him. Quackity even admitted to not trusting Ranboo from the start, and that could be a result of eating Schlatt’s heart and having his influence on him.
Let’s also not forget how ready Quackity was to kill Ranboo. He wanted an execution. He kept repeating “traitor” like a broken record. Tubbo even pointed out the parallel to Quackity that he was doing EXACTLY what Schlatt did to Tubbo at the festival. Quackity himself even said that he was LIVID about Ranboo being a traitor. And even after Tubbo tried to talk sense into him how Ranboo wasn’t a traitor, he just has short term memory, Quackity still referred to himself as such.
It would make sense that Quackity would hate traitors. In terms of his character, he was betrayed by Schlatt. Someone who he thought would love him and help him rule Manburg in a way that would help everyone, his ideal government. But of course, Schlatt was shit and didn’t fulfill those expectations. And then when things did get better, his country betrayed him. Tubbo betrayed him. When Quackity agreed to stand up against Dream and not exile Tommy, Tubbo agreed with him. Then he went against that plan. And L’Manburg didn’t meet up to his expectations. It never did and he never got the power he wanted.
And if Quackity is possessed by Schlatt, that could also explain his whole bit about going on and on about killing the traitor. When Schlatt found Tubbo to be the traitor, we know what happened. He had him executed. That whole scene leading up to his death, he kept saying how everyone left him. When he needed them most, everyone left. He felt betrayed by them, so it makes sense that after finding out that there’s ANOTHER traitor in the cabinet, he’s going to get angry about it. He doesn’t want it happening again.
And with Wilbur’s comment about Schlatt being a lawful evil. He’s going to keep order no matter what it takes. If you’re a traitor, you’re going to get what’s coming to you, so it would make sense that he’d want Ranboo dead as well. And even if that’s not the case, the description of wanting order no matter what fits Quackity’s current character right now.
Now let me add in Dad Schlatt because I have daddy issues.
I like to think that if Quackity is possessed by Schlatt or something, his whole speech to Tubbo before saying he was out and leaving was just Schlatt trying to communicate to his son. He was angry that Ranboo would betray his cabinet and maybe because he wants to be a better dad or something, he wants to make sure the thing that happened to him doesn’t happen to Tubbo. He tells him not to trust anyone, even Quackity (it could be him warning that Quackity and Dream are working together) and that he can’t let people walk all over him. He’s trying to give him advice, trying to guide him to be a better president.
If he wasn’t able to help Tubbo at all when he was alive, maybe this was the one chance that he got to do so.
But more likely, that was just Quackity trying to give Tubbo some last advice before leaving.
Now, maybe he left only to return with a revived Schlatt? Only to watch Doomsday from the sidelines? What is he planning?
And what was up with the frown? I don’t think I’ve seen him keep it on for as long as he did in the past. I had thought that it might’ve been a result of eating Schlatt’s heart, but that wasn’t the case. I went back to look at old videos and sure enough, the frown was underneath the smile. I don’t know if this is something that’s always been there, or if it appeared after a certain event (election maybe?) but I want to know WHY he has it.
Is it just for memes? Is it supposed to symbolize the fact that he puts on this literal mask to appear to be the “funny guy” when that’s not the case?
Or, or, if we’re going off shape-shifter Quackity, what if that’s one of the traits? That magical part of him (being a shapeshifter) could also maybe allude to his personality. He’s going to change to make sure he fits in. If he’s got to act a certain way to get where he needs to be, he’s going to do it. He’s going to change in order to ensure that happens. If Dream says to join him and get power in return, then maybe he’s going to say yes.
And let’s not even talk about the fact how he basically has the same smiley mask as Dream and his real one is the opposite.
Whatever it is though, it caught me off guard today, but it makes for some killer fanart and headcanons, so I loved it (though I was uncomfortable when it happened).
I was going to wait and see how the events played out tomorrow and then talk, but this obviously was already a lot, so it be easier to make predictions now and whatnot and then see what happens tomorrow.
With that being said, I am, scared.

The Favor [Dream SMP]
Highlights, timestamps, summary, and transcripts. Feel free to request a transcript or timestamp for this stream! There was a bit of lore but most of it was just the syndicate having fun together, really good stream for chill technocontent!
Summary w/ timestamps
Techno starts the stream in his Antarctic house. He’s in the enchanting room, and he stalls for a while to let viewers join the stream.
At 3:30, he joins a discord call with Phil, Niki, and Ranboo, and walks outside. They’re all standing outside his house and set off fireworks, wishing him a happy birthday. They joke for a while, and then show Techno his birthday cake. This is completely unrelated, probably, but there are different flowers on the table, a cornflower, an allium, and a white tulip. They fire more fireworks, and Techno eventually gets stabbed by Niki and looses some hunger, so he can eat cake. He calls Ranboo a potential professional clown.
9:30 the syndicate sits down and starts filling Techno in on what’s happened while he was gone. He explains his absence as going into the wild to train, not hibernating. They explain that Tommy died, and Techno seems a little sad, but quickly moved to confusion when Phil says that Dream brought him back.
Ranboo reminds Phil that Wil was also brought back, and both Techno and Niki are, understandably, confused. Angry, Niki demands an explanation, and Techno mostly accepts it. Phil mentions that Wilbur is living in his house, and explains that Wilburs changed to Niki.
They go back to joking and non-lore things (thankfully), and return to lore at 15:35. Techno finds a forest in front of his house, Phil tells him that it just sprouted up one day, but tells him not to worry. Ranboo mentions that Phil said ‘it might have been her,’ but they quickly move on. Phil explains more about the revival book, saying that Dream has it and brought back Wil and Tommy. Niki reminds them that he could bring back Schlatt, and that they do not want that. They start talking about government takeovers, and Techno mentions wanting to train Niki and Ranboo to be at least self sufficient, but while hes talking, he spots Quackity on a mountain near his house. He leaves the conversation to go confront Quackity.
He joins the call at 21:30. Quackity thanks Techno for allying with him at the Banquet, and quickly moves topics to Dream and the prison. Quackity tells Techno that Dream wanted him to visit, and finally call out the favor. They joke about scheduling, Techno threatens Quackity a bit, and they leave the call. Techno contemplates if he should trust Quackity, and joins the Syndicate call again at 32:10. They joke, eat more desserts, and fire more fireworks. Phil takes the group to the training room, and they explore for a while. Techno cryptically explains why he left during the party, Niki says that they sound like someone who gives empty promises, and asks if it was Wilbur.
43:00 the group rings the membership bell for a long time. It is very loud.

Dream SMP Recap (March 12/2021) - Exiting the Vault
After Sam finally checks the cell and discovers that Tommy is alive, Tommy exits Pandora’s Vault at last. Everyone on the server starts coming to terms with Tommy’s return, while both Tommy and Ranboo are set on a new goal:
To kill Dream for good.

---
- Tommy is in prison. Still there.
Dream: “I’m starving! Can you give me that? Can I have that?”
- Tommy throws him a potato.
Tommy: “I only have one.”
Dream: “Oh, well you can have it then.”
- Tommy eats some potatoes.
Tommy: “I’ve been meaning to ask you. Why do you look like that?”
Dream: “It’s a mask.”
- They talk about Dream face-revealing and Tommy concludes that it must be sewn onto his face.
Dream: “Sam has not visited us in like a week! He hates me!”
- Tommy throws him the last of his potatoes. There’s no way of knowing how long time’s passed in the cell.
Tommy: “I’m still...I can’t believe you did that.”
Dream: “You were the one pushing me to do it! You were basically begging me to!”
- Tommy throws an item frame, a book and two potatoes into the lava.
- He boasts that he hasn’t cried
- Tommy sees Sam’s nametag by the lava and rushes over. Sam tells Tommy to run to the corner and Tommy gets out via damage pot. Tommy confronts Sam about letting him die. Sam is just shocked to see him alive.
- Tommy flicks the switches to let the lava down, wanting to look at Dream. He says a last “fuck you” and walks after Sam to get out.
Tommy: “Suck it, green boy.”
- Tommy tells Sam off for failing at his job again, as they go through the security measures.
Tommy: “Sam, you kept me in this prison for thirty-two days!”
Sam: “Tommy, I didn’t even know you were here -- I haven’t even gone to feed him!”
- He tells Sam that Dream is going to escape.
Tommy: “You are now the most powerful man on this server -- not Dream, you are, ‘cause you withhold him! And you can’t even stop him from killing me! You’re not qualified to run this prison, Sam.But that’s beyond the point, alright? Look at me -- Dream is going to escape, he told me that he’s planning on escaping, alright? Technoblade owes him a favor, Technoblade owes him a favor -- I’ve seen everything!”
- Tommy tells Sam that he can’t have any visitors ever. He tells Sam about the revive book, that that’s how he’s back.
- Tommy exits through the Nether portal. The first thing he sees when he gets out is the giant penis statue.
- He starts walking down the path and sees Tubbo working on Bee ‘n’ Boo. Tubbo sees him and runs away initially. He doesn’t believe Tommy is real.
- Tommy points out the bench where they listened to music after defeating Dream -- but they didn’t defeat Dream, and now they need to kill him and also probably Technoblade.
- Tubbo tells Tommy about the inn and also getting married.
- Next, Tommy speaks with Sam Nook and sees Jack Manifold at the desk. Jack is outraged.
Jack: “No, you’re dead, you’re dead! You died, I grieved for you! You’re not back! No one comes back, I mean -- oh -- MOST people don’t come back!”
Tommy: “No I’m alright. Anyway, um --”
- Jack is furious. He tells Tommy he’s been trying to kill him for two months.
Jack: “That’s the problem. All the time, you belittle me, you dismiss me, you drop me in a pool of lava, I’m the only person who tried to visit you when you were in exile, and you forget me! Like I’m nothing! And when I try and finally get my own back, I launch NUKES at you and you didn’t even care!”
- Tommy talks about Moana. Then they argue some more.
Tommy: “Jack, what you’re doing here is creating a villain for yourself, alright? And when I was gone, you didn’t have that. You’re so glad I’m back, you need to stop -- you’re just creating a villain out of nowhere, alright?”
- Tommy tells Jack he’s changed, he’s seen things in death, he’s trying to hold himself together like it’s still the old him, but he’s struggling.
- Jack draws his axe. Tommy tells him to put it away.
Jack: “You died and you think you’re all that, you think you learned everything. I died! We died! I died because of you!”
- Tommy leaves the hotel, telling Jack he can keep the hotel for now while he deals with bigger issues.
Jack: “This isn’t the end.”
Tommy: “It probably is.”
- Tommy sees Tubbo watching him from on top of the McPuffy’s.
Tommy: “He’s staring at me like I’m not even real. And he’s got a new best friend -- a new husband!”
- He sees all the statues by his house. Connor is inside, freaked out to see him.
- Tommy tells Connor to move out again, and Connor gives him his diary -- Connor misses Schlatt, wants to solve mortality, knows Karl’s secret (thinks he should see a doctor) and missed Tommy when he died.
- Tommy tells Connor what he went through. Connor says they need prison reform. Tommy tells Connor that Sam isn’t fit to run the prison, and Connor moves back into Ninja’s house.
- He takes a quick look at L’manhole.
Tommy: “I fuckin’ miss when times were simpler, and all I had to worry about was defeating one big green guy. And all I had to do was follow someone else’s lead. And now it looks like I’m gonna have to follow my own lead. So the server seems to have changed a lot.”
- As he walks down the stairs, Antfrost stares at him and backs away. Tommy wonders why no one’s treating him normally.
- He finds Ranboo by the ice cream shop, Tubbo coming along as well. Ranboo asks about what happened -- did Sam lie? Tommy doesn’t want to talk about dying.
- Tommy asks if Tubbo is Ranboo’s best friends. Ranboo says he’s one of them and hands Tommy an allium. Tommy burns it.
- Tommy continues along the path and notices the Therapuffy office. He drops a book in the chest. He also notices the Red Banquet posters.
- Tommy feels like even though he’s back, he’s not. People celebrated his death.
Tommy: “This server was -- this server wasn’t about this, it was about me and Tubbo fighting Dream! I’m still dead to most of these people...They’re looking at me like I’m not even alive.”
- He finds Quackity by the Community House. Quackity thinks it must be some sort of sick joke. Tommy reminds him of the heists they used to do to convince him that it’s actually him.
- Tommy tells Quackity that Dream used the revive book. Quackity is overjoyed at his return.
- Tommy leaves and goes up towards the Nether portal. He decides that he needs to kill Dream, and soon.
- Jack is upset that Tommy came back. It took him dying for Jack to remember Tommy as a friend again, but when he came back, it all came flooding back.
“But when he came back today, he said a couple things that have stuck with me. The main one being...a simple word. He turned to me, looked me dead in the eyes, and he went ‘anyways.’ Anyways.”
- Jack decides he’s done with starting again.
“But the day he died, the day he was killed by Dream was not the day I should’ve grieved. I lost my friend a long, long time ago...I lost my friend a long time ago, the day he decided those discs were more important than any of us. The day he got rid of L’manburg, the day he sacrificed absolutely everything to take back those discs! That’s the day I lost my friend.”
“Him coming back today doesn’t bring back my friend. It doesn’t fill the empty void I felt when he died. All it has done is given me a new purpose.”
- Jack decides he needs to kill Tommy. His friend died a long time ago. He talks about how even when Dream is locked away, Tommy isn’t satisfied and is still going after him.
- Jack came back because he had a purpose. And that purpose was to take Tommy out.
“I’m glad I grieved my friend, and I’m still sad and hurt that he’s gone. But my friend didn’t come back. Dream didn’t bring back my friend with that book, he brought back a monster.”
- Dream brought Tommy back out of cowardice, fearing the server without him. Jack is better than Dream.
- Jack heads into the underground city and speaks with Niki. Jack tells her Tommy’s alive again. Niki isn’t sure she wants Tommy dead anymore.
- They start talking about government and anarchy. Niki says her underground city isn’t a government, while Jack disagrees with anarchy.
- Niki says she’s started baking again. She says she’ll give it time to think about it, whether to help Jack. In the meantime, he’s free to stay in the city.
- Jack returns to his hotel, still upset.
- He makes his way to the prison, thinking. Tommy coming back took away the satisfaction of him being Jack’s villain. Jack came back because he had one goal, one purpose, and that was to kill Tommy. Why not take the same from him?
- He tries to enter the prison portal but it doesn’t work. Jack is infuriated and walks to Tommy’s summer home, where he encounters Quackity.
- Quackity wants him to leave the property. He hid some things there a while back that he doesn’t want people finding.
- They talk about Tommy being alive again. Quackity is happy, but wants to know what Jack’s plan is regarding their business.
Quackity: “Tommy is a complex business partner, and I have to come to terms with that fact.”
- Quackity points out it seems that Jack lack’s power over this hotel business venture. Jack tells him Tommy said he could have it for now. Quackity says he’s made great progress on his business, and they’ll continue to talk later. He leaves.
- Foolish says he looks poor and hands him two diamond blocks.
- Jack says he needs funds anyway and has an idea...what if he became a prison guard?
- He wonders how to go about it. Who would suggest him?
- Jack looks at the ruins of Ze Haus. He’ll stick to the motto:
Be Worse.
- Ranboo starts off in his house, his Memory Book open
“He’s alive!”
“He’s alive?”
- Ranboo thinks to himself. It’s incredible, but…was he even dead to begin with? Did Sam lie? It doesn’t make sense. Once something is dead, it’s dead, right?
- Tubbo’s not handling it well, but he’ll come around eventually. But Tommy’s alive now, that’s awesome! That’s a good thing…right?
- Ranboo isn’t upset at him for burning the flower. If someone died and came back and everyone still thought they were dead, of course they’d be hesitant to things.
- He goes back to the confusion about death. People can be revived.
“And if death isn’t permanent, then people are gonna be living a lot differently.”
“If death isn’t permanent…if death isn’t permanent, then nothing is. Then that means that…anyone can just die, decide ‘no,’ and just come back. And…if…people live with no fear, then they’ll be put through so much pain.”
- Tubbo was so ready to fight the Egg despite being on one life. Imagine if he found out that he could die and come back if he got hurt.
- Ranboo heads through the Nether to the portal to…Dream’s mountain vault
“What is this place?”
“I’ve been here before?”
“Why am I here?”
“…Step away from him, Dream.”
“Everything everyone’s ever loved is right here. If I can control that, I can control the server.”
“Dream was…he was trapped in here when we all came through. Wait, I’m — you can’t kill him because he’s the only one who can bring Wilbur back…what? Dream could…Dream could bring people back?”
“Was I here?”
He moves towards the elevator. “I walked over there.”
“The Enderwalk. That entire time. And they all came to save him…that entire time.”
“You should’ve paid him more.”
“The only reason they kept Dream alive was because he could revive…people. Dream has the power…to…bring people back. No matter…when…who…where…”
“He needs to go, or else…death won’t be permanent, and then, if we get rid of someone because they’ve been causing problems this entire time…then we can never get rid of the villains in this story. We can bring back the villains in the story, when they were supposed to be written out.”
“He needs to go.”
- Ranboo leaves.
“We should be able to get rid of the villains, even if it means not being able to keep the good guys.”
- There’s a reason he was able to pick up blocks slowly throughout time. Things start to manifest. There’s something going on with the Enderwalk. The Enderwalk isn’t a different version of Ranboo, it’s still Ranboo, it’s just more…wild
- Ranboo heads to Snowchester and sees Michael.
“Cause I don’t wanna hurt him…so I gotta make sure I get rid of any possibility.”
- Ranboo is scared of doing something that makes things worse.
“I don’t hurt people. That’s not what I do, I have to keep it that way. However…”
He looks towards the prison.
“There is one exception.”
“Do I even have to be careful? I mean, I still have my three lives. I mean…I’m one of the most safe people on this server. But…I don’t even have to be. I can afford to be reckless.”
- Ranboo writes in his book.
“He’s alive. But hopefully soon Dream won’t be.”
- Ranboo goes into his house. He surveys his riches in the vault. He has a lot of supplies, but he’s not ready to do this yet.
“It’s time to train.”
- Puffy finds Tommy’s book in her Therapuffy office and reads it. Does this mean he’s alive?
- Puffy watches the VOD and decides she would lose all her canon lives just to escape the possibility of solitaire.
- Puffy is happy that Tommy is alive. But how, and why? Why would Dream resurrect Tommy?
She wonders if there was a tiny part of Dream that cared, or if that’s just the duckling perspective talking.
- She goes back to her office and writes a response letter, going to leave it in a chest at Tommy’s house.
What Tommy needs right now, she says, is support.
