Summary:growing up as Gandalf's adopted daughter ,being apart of the company only to pass through Rivendell,only to joke about doing your best friend,Lindir.

Word count:1200+

It was no secret that Gandalf wasnt your real father, you both looked nothing a like. However this didnt stop him loving you like you were his actual child,you werent sure if wizard could have children. You wondered if he ever got horny,it disturbed you but you did wonder. Anyways you didnt know your parents ,they were killed by orcs ,Gandalf found you crying as babe ,and thats all you know. You were an elf ,mostly Thorin didnt like that very much when he found out.

So how you ended up in the company of Thorin Oakenshield was; simply because Gandalf didnt want to leave you with the elves again ,or leave you at home where you could be in more danger.

You were more than capable of defending yourself,due to your many vists with Elrond they had trained you very well. You also became best friends with Lindir since he was responsible for most of your training ,plus being your tutor. Lindir was also abandoned as a child but was taken in by Elrond. He grew to become a marchwaden.

Lindir was a kind soul,nothing like the elf which lived in greenwood ,suck up assbutt's in your opinion. Don't get me started on Thranduil with those slug eyebrows,his son looks older than him,he has a stick shoved right up his anus.

Lindir didnt really like having to talk to strangers or infront of large crowds,he was shy,but he wouldn't let anyone know thing. However you did know,you felt exactly the same. Lindir was pretty much your only friend growning up,you weren't social compared to the other elves.

Oh god the first time you had gotten a little drunk with Lindir was at feast wherethey were handing out wine ,keep in mind Gandalf was out of town ,and you had stolen a bottle ans dragged Lindir to your balcony to drink it. Of course the elvish stuff it doesnt take alot for you to get drunk.

 After that you had both snuck out to a river and with that Lindir just wanted to splash his feet in the side. However you had a different idea,whilst he wasnt looking you had stripped yourself from dress  before jumping in.  He was too busy looking at his bare feet ,when he had looked up and seen you swimming about in just your underclothes.

"y/n! Get out now,thats dangerous." he had scolded you ,pulling his shoes back on.

"ppft. g-gonna put some dirt in your eye." you sassed the ellon,swimming closer to him only for him to pull you out with ease,onto your feet.

Parkour! you must have been shattered, with that he had carried your wet body in his coat to your room. Setting the fireplace a light,placing you in bed with like a million blankets because you were soaking but he didnt want to undress you. In hopes you would warm up.

Aways he was gentleman,and the bestfriend you could ever ask for. Back to now you were in Rivendell with the company of thorin oakenshield.You had been greeted  by Lindir ,who simply sent a nod your way not wanting to anger the dwarves ,if they knew of your close friendship,and soon enough elrond arrived and was like who's hungry.

In which ended up with you sat next to kili ,who sat next to Bofur ,Kili seemed to admire the elves. You picked at the salad ,wheres the lembas bread or chips ,you could do with some potatoes right about now.

"Cant say I fancy myself an elf too thin,high cheekbones not enough facial hair." he spoken up to avoid Dwalins and Thorin killer gazes. "Though that one isnt bad." he gestured to Feren an male ellon,you had giggled ,Bofur nudged him "that is not an elf maiden." Dwalin smirked ,causing the company to burst out with laughter. Kili's cheeks boomed red from embarassment,you patted his back as the laughter died down.

"if it helps ,I know which ellon ,I would rough," you spoke smirking eyeing Lindir who looked back at you confused,you know he heard , you just hope Gandalf didn't ,you look at him and hes still in deep conversation with Elrond ,thank valar. "and who is that miss y/n?" fili had piped up from down the table.

 "the brunette elf next to elrond," you had faced away when you finished ,blushing a little pretending to look at the trees.

Yes it was no lie that you had deep feels for the ellon for many ,many years,but you did not know he felt exactly the same. The whole company had turned to lindir ,some in disgust mostly thorin ,dwalin,others smirking,some blank. Lindir had just smirked knowing you were up to something seeing your posture and gesture  when avoiding his gaze.

"I bet you five coins lass,you wont do anything about it," Bofur had suggested ,the dwarves knew you were shy,and soon enough kili,fili,ori many others had bet on this too,bilbo just watched the scene unfold like that star trek meme ,you know the shocked face. Thorin didnt bet ,not wanting incourage you.

"okay,I accepted." and with that you smirked at the company then looking at Lindir who looked back you with farrowed brows ,as you stood from your seat. Slowly you made your way over to your bestfriend.

"w-what a-" before he could finish you had cupped his cheeks pressing your lips to his soft ones. His face and yours red,knowing your ada had just watched that. "I've wanted to do that for so long." the dwarves look on in shock,not really bilbo or balinbut most of them.

"as have I" he spoke ,you just sent him a wide grin before returning to your seat. "pay up lads." you held your hands out gesturing your pay. "you knew him before this,right?" bilbo questioned you cheekily. "yeah,he was my only friend growning up,i guess he's more now..." your face still red ,your legs shaking you couldnt believe you had just done that. "well lads pay up ,shes got more balls than you gave her credit for." Th0rin commanded ,it was no lie that you had made him hate elves that little bit less.

IN which finally confessing your feelings ,got you a pay check. Yeah you are so bodaciously epic you say Thorin and kili and fili and have a date. You are totally excellent. You meet up with Lindir not very long after the battle of the five armies,and not that many years later you get married in which the whole company come,Bilbo is your maid of honour. Of course Gandalf excepts Lindir as his son in law ,seeing you both grow up together plus he's an angel.

He had walked back in and half the team knew something was wrong. He looked flushed as hell despite it being 70 degrees outside..Half the time they tried talking to him he had to be called to attention multiple times, clearly something was wrong.

“Gordon..? Gordon are you okay? What’s wrong you never act like this....hello?”

Tommy was the first to try and get Gordon to explain what was going on, he brushed them off weakly saying he just felt a little light headed...But the way he talked sounded like he barely heard Tommy talking.

Coomer tried next, knowing his usual greeting always got a response, his normal smile fell when Gordon didn’t fully respond for several minutes, even Bubby had finally dropped the snark in favor of seeing what the hell was going on with their Gordon.

“Hey, hey what the fuck is actually going on Gordon...You’ve never acted like this before, are you dying on us or something? You fucking better not or else I’m going to fucking come out there...okay? Just...just dont fucking die on us for real Gordon.”

Gordon by now had slumped back into his chair watching the AI’s frantically figure out what’s wrong, the strongest of them now cracking with worry when their usual antics and nonsense got....nothing back.

“Guys....guys I’m not gonna die okay..? I’m...just a lil sick is all, just a lil fever nothing to worry about. “

“Bullshit bro, that...that doesnt look like a normal fever...Gordon you need to get into bed. Shit’s not good to just stay in the chair for...”

Benry had finally shown his own worry after watching Gordon just....sit there unmoving and staring off into space for a half hour, it wasn’t fun to watch him do that knowing he’s delirious and shit.

“Ben...ry? Shit since when did you become a mother hen..? heheh..I must be out of it then if I have you freaking out at me..”

The others were trying to figure out what to do, how to get Gordon to get better or at least fucking sleep..The fact they lacked bodies made this all entirely and unnecessarily harder to do. Tommy and Coomer combed over wikipedia and any health web pages on how to best combat a cold. Bubby kept on trying to berate and convince Gordon to go to sleep and rest with little to no success.

Benry though was wanting to try some other methods. If Gordon was this fucking out of it...maybe he could try the only method he had available left. 

Giving a quick word to the others on what the fuck was about to go down and getting the “Go ahead we have no fucking other ways.” he slipped into Gordons phone and tested the waters of Gordons mind.

Like Tommy and Coomer, Benry sometimes delved into the deep oceans of knowledge that Wikipedia offered, mostly on some stupid meme shit.. But as of late he had delved into the science of the mind and sleep. Mostly to figure out how he could slip into Gordons mind at night..and maybe how the whole subconscious worked.

He found nothing but stupid ass jargon but some of the things he learned were interesting...Like that at certain stages of delirium and sleep deprivation, the mind enters a sleep like state...or as close to it as possible. 

Benry smiled to himself as he felt himself slide into Gordons mind with practiced ease. The others wouldn’t know what was going on on this side of things...But if it worked like he hoped Gordon would be fine and in bed soon.

“Gordon...hey dumbass look at me for a second.. C’mon sleepy head, lil baby needs to be put down for a nap.”

“B....Benry? Issat you?”

“Yeah? C’mon I need you to get up, take the headphones off bro.”

Gordon blinked owlishly up at the guard now standing above him smiling softly...When did he get here? Was he always here...?

“When’d you get out here dude? ...what the shit’s going on?”

“Don’t worry about it bro, c’mon get up outta the chair, bed’s alot better for baby time naps. I’ll join you even if you want Gordon....”

“...that sounds....actually kinda nice..? alright.”

Benry sighed softly in relief as Gordon pushed himself out of the chair at last, hearing the muted cheers from the rest of the science team as he stumbled towards the bed nearby.

Gordon all but collapsed onto the edge of said bed, and with some more prompting by Benry shuffled under the covers to sleep like a decent human being. Benry himself couldnt do much aside from mime sitting on the edge of the bed and talk to him until sleep finally claimed Gordon at long last a hour later.

The rest of the science team went about their day, checking up on Gordon via phone to see if he was still asleep or feeling at all better.. They didn’t entirely understand where Benry went, Coomer had one idea but that was something to discuss in private with Benry himself.

As for Benry, he stayed hidden in Gordon’s hazy fever dreams to keep him company. With the fever affecting him it made things ten times stranger....Not that he minded, he could gently shift things away from nightmarish topics and have a bit of fun with Gordon, who did not seem to know or mind whatever the hell was going on.

Of course he also indulged in some nonsense of his own at Gordon’s expense, he accompanied him on his feverish adventures and played along with whatever logic Gordon’s brain supplied... and of course using the cover of dreams to kiss and cuddle whenever possible with the poor man.

Several hours later, Benry slipped back into the computer to say Gordon had gone into a dreamless deeper sleep..But now all they had to do was wait and hope in the morning things would be better.

Morning came and went, and later into the afternoon Gordon finally managed to pull himself from sleeps loving embrace with a coughing yawn.

“Gordon?? Gordon you’re alive! Good morning!”

“Hello...Tommy? Tommy what time is it...? Where’s my phone at...”

Fumbling about with a slow groan he dug his phone out of the blanket nest he made in his sleep...When the hell did he get here? Christ he barely remembered yesterday even...it was four in the afternoon...Wow he was out cold for almost a full day.

“Holy fuck I must of been deadass...Sorry guys, I felt like utter shit yesterday, didn’t mean to scare you all if I did, I barely remember being conscious at all.”

Ben was born on Mount Desert Island (where BFar Harbor is located) in 2040. When he was 14, he was moved to live in Boston, and when he was 18, he was forced to train as a police officer instead of becoming a soldier. He became a detective at 22, and at 245, he was transferred to Chicago where he met, was partnered with, and fell in love with the original Nick Valentine. By 2268, their mutual love for each other had been confessed and they were dating. In 2073, despite him  having taken a path in life he found near deplorable (Ben hates fucking cops dont get me wrong, he just found it preferable to being a million miles away doing even worse things safkjdf) he was drafted and sent to alaska, trained as a vertibird pilot. he barely survives a crash here, leaving him scarred everywhere, the most notable one the scar that runs down from his chin the his collar bone, which slashed his vocal chords. for a time, he couldnt speak at all, but by 2292 (when he was released, 5 years after nora fucked off without him because he was a stranger) he can speak, if hoarsely and uncomfortably. between this and ben and nick finally being together, theres a hell of a lot but im going to skip it to cut a long story shorter than im already cutting it askhfdf. in 2077, nick proposes to ben in the agency they had finally moved all of their stuff into, finally ready to kiss the corrupt governemnt goodbye as private cops (nick overly eager to do this after his close friend and informant jenny lands was killed by eddies twats). not a week later, the world ends, before they could even open he doors to the agency.

ok..so things get a little hard 2 explain here but. nora didnt know ben, she just grabbed a random guy because she had a plan to get her and her baby to safety by taking the place of another family that was meant to go in 111, she grabbed ben who was in sanctuary at the time trying to get home bc she needed a husband. shes a bit of a crafty sod, cause she made out she was just trying to saave his life, she and her son ‘shaun’ are meant to be in there but her husband is long gone, if he pretends he can get in with them. ben only agrees when she makes the point dont youhave anyone to live for?

when ben is unfrozen, its like i said 5 years after nora has become the ‘sole’ survivor and the minuteman general. shes expended the institutes trust in her, so she needs someone her son would take a chance on, like his ‘father’. benbecomes part of this plan as the only one who has a shot.

oh yeah and he amd nick meet and he loves nick very dearly still, no matter what. and nicks not sure bc he knows hes still got feelings for ben but he doesnt feel as though theyre his own or that he has a right to them as a robot. theyve got a lot to get over...but they fall in love all over again. ben respects that hes not nick...nicks gone and he gets to grieve. but he knows thaat he loves him more deeply than he could ever imagine so.yeehaw

it was a lot of pressure on him? hes very doubtful in himself and his abilities and has pretty bad anxiety, so it went through the roof as soon as her hood came down and he saw her face. shes extremely important, and very high up in the social class where as hes just the apprentice that hangs out at his house all the time and doesnt leave very often? it felt like too much to handle as soon as she asked for a reading

and THEN she wanted him to go to the palace, and he held it together until she left, and didnt even get time to have a proper meltdown before julian showed up, which only added to it.

hes not very talkative, and words get caught in his throat a lot. hes not very good with strangers, and gets very shaky and nervous every time he has to interact with someone, let alone many at once. he likes to avoid talking to people and having to make first impressions and such, but in the event it happens, the big take away is that he doesnt chat very much and that he stutters and that hes easily frightened by conversation

the one person who ever made him feel at ease was asra, and he found out later that it was because asra sensed his worry and used a bit of magic to help calm his emotions, which is something asra helped him with after they moved in together and had the shop for a while. asra helped calm his emotions a lot, and he was always very patient with zeph whenever they spoke. he took care into making zephiran feel comfortable without needing to use magic, which is why he feels so close and connected to asra in the first place.

So this dream was a long kind of story driven one. I had a companion with me, who kind of looked like seven fron stranger things but older. We walked to aplace called the field house and were trying to figure something out about my life I had forgotten. Me an the Seven person had a cheeky relationship togther lf me maybe having a cruh on her, and her being like the gurl next door in an anime how she might like me but wont admit it and overcompensates for this with soft bullying There were kids running all around the field house and in one corner there was a large entertainment system with all kids of stuff stacked in it very neatly, and a couple lamps at each end of it and weeds were growing everywhere. Me and the seven girl were going to leave thinking there was nothing to learn here but then this older man came up to uo ad mistakenly thought we were trying to help, he was the only adult there, and showed up how to take the very large weeds out of the ground, he said not to grab the root system with your hand, but to keep your fingers stiff straight and use the hand like a wedge to get it out. After we got the weeds we were covered in grass like we had mowed the lawn poorly or something but we had only been pulling weeds. Then we went through the console cause he wanted us to organize it. As we went though everything memories started to come back to me in very fleeting ways. Specific movies they had there had triggered my own memories of being there, and weird feelings and stuff so I was determined to ask him about it. One of these movies was some kind of claymation movie that does not exist, it had an old dvd case with the black wedge that snaps over the binding to keep the case closed I took it and I was going take it with us cause I liked it a lot but had an internal dilemma and became wrought with guilt of stealing from these kids and restricting what they could watch so I put it back. There were these bigger boxes there that claimed to house dragon ball z games but really only had figures in them. In dream we looked one of them up online and came to a forum thread about how cheesy the final boss in that game was and several people posted about it and there was a meme someone posted about the boss (the red majin guy) spinning and everybody over text laughed at it. There were a lot of cassettes there too, and one of them was a To Be Kind by Swans casssette and that worried me also I wanted to take that with me. It was very bright out and I could barely see cause the blinding light was reflecting off of all the plastic and hurting my eyes. I went to confront the guy and ask him stuff and he managed to dodge my questions by compelling me and my companion to take showers in the lockerroom since we were covered in grass. So we did. When we got there she got naked and started showering next to this one guy who kept looking down at her small boobs for a quick second an she kept yelling at him o stop, and I tried to find a shower that had a door that locked an I found one the size of a handicap bathroom but to guys were using it and standing very close to each other and shot me an angry silent glare together and I backed off. At this point in the dream I had a worrying feeling you get walking into a place you know people have died in before, and felt uneasy the rest of the dream. I found two stalls with showers and doors on the otherside and made fun of my companion for showering with that guy rather than using one o the stalls and she got flustered and ran to the stall an started using it. I showered in the one next to her and then we were inside the building next tothe fieldhouse. The inside of this building looks exactly like Haylies diningroom and livingroom,and the guy is now wearing casual clothes and looks stressed. Apparently I had started watching a movie with my companion on a laptop there and it was some kind of horror movie and it played in the background of my exchange woth him. I asked him what this place was and what happened here and he got up and walked to the computer to try and mute it, it didnt work, and i tried to lower the volume and that didnt work. Then he hit some hotkey that stopped loading the page and brought up an error message saying: "this website has been blocked by servin admin) in stark bloody red text. Then he sat down again and said "thats a bit of an insult to the camp and all of us isnt it" and I knew immeditely in dream he meant the childhood trauma group therapy thing I had attened IRL when I was young. I got nervous and explained I knew I went here at one point and kinda knew what happened bu was curious. He was very crass now and spoke hesistation an told me a bit about my emotional shortcomings leading to me join the "camp" and one specifc phrase he used was "you dropped the autism around second grade" meaning I had developed severe autism then or something. My companion laughed at me for that phrase. Then he brought up this kid and his brother. I dont know how the two kids were or how they related to me. But he said one day while all the kids were on the field the little brother ran off, then immeditealy the dream scene went away and I heard all of this through his omnipresent voice and saw this all happening from some weird ghost perspective. "Wed never lost a kid before, every little brother always wonders off but nobody ever got that far" in dream I knew this story before he finished telling it but he kept going the specific phrases start to get murky here so ill try to approximate. He tells me that the kid wandered very far and a storm happened or something and he sought shelter in an abandoned house. As he said that several grown mens' naked fat bodies flashed all around my view in a criminal greyscale. And he doesnt say what happened there, but he says the dad went searching for his son in a group With several other fathers of camp kids, and the lost boys father went into the building he son sought shelter in day before andfound him. He described how the other dads felt a lot about survivors guilt and "the nervous fear" they felt knowing this could happen to any one of them next. And a he described the scene o the dad going on I see footage of this little boy dressed in girls clothes, and wearing a wig with long blonde hair. She had a grey skirt on an was coming down some stone stairs with a lunch box. An then he says the police were notified (the footage of the little crossdressing boy is still going) and they brought out ten dead bodies all of little kids. And then the footage cut off to black, and I was in a void, and the narration stopped. And in dream I thought how strange it was to sit here in this place without any stimuli, and I just floated waiting for more answers. Then i realized my eyes were closed and I was awake but I was floating through all this space and I didnt want to open my eyes, I wanted to know more and I wanted to go back but I couldnt. So I opened them and I was awake. Then I typed this.
