Spencer had never really noticed the height difference between you until you began working in the BAU offices. At home you seemed to have organised things so you didn’t need to overreach but here many of the file boxes and even the top shelf of the supply closet were well out of your reach, prompting him to come to your rescue on a regular basis when he found you precariously balanced on your tiptoes or once, on a wheely chair. You hadn’t repeated that one, the half hour lecture on workplace injuries saw to that. Sometimes he thought you did it deliberately, usually when your outfits were a little more fitted and he had to reach a little himself, forcing your bodies together. You would smile shyly and thank him in a soft voice when he handed you whatever it was you’d been looking for, the polite submissiveness something he hardly ever saw in you.
It wasn’t until Emily happened to witness one of these more deliberate assists in the break room of the BAU that Spence found out the reason for your unusual behaviour. ‘She’s playing with you. She wants to rile you up, so you take control and top her.’ Emily answered in a matter of fact tone when he asked her opinion. He must have looked perplexed because she continued. ‘It could be the height difference, she does a similar thing with me at home when I’m in heels and she’s barefoot.’ She mused, head at an angle and a grin that alluded to distinctly pleasurable memories on her lips. Offering her the last pastry as thanks Spencer took his mug of sweet coffee back to his desk to plan his next moves with this new intel.
He was sitting in your office chair on the far side of the sixth floor from the BAU when you returned with a coffee later that day. ‘Hey! What’s up, did we have a meeting?’ You enquired as you balanced the coffee on the filing cabinet to remove your jacket. Standing to his full height while you had your back turned Spence relocated the coffee to a safer spot and was standing inches from you when you turned, making you jump back a little at his silent approach. Your back hit the closed door and he moved closer again, his tall frame boxing you in against it as his fingers cupped your cheek and tilted your chin up so he could look at you. His expression was serious but there was a twinkle of pure mischief in his eye that had you grinning as your heart thumped fiercely in your chest. ‘Emily thinks you’ve been playing with me love, is she right?’ He spoke so softly and traced his thumb over your lower lip as he waited for a response that you were desperately trying to get out. His proximity and the fact that he was towering over you had rendered you speechless, something you rarely were with either of your lovers.
Eventually you managed to get out a soft yes, surprised by your own meekness in the face of Spencer’s dominant side. You’d never seen him like this before, you knew a little of it existed and you’d hoped your little game would draw it out but now that it had you were completely taken aback. His expression didn’t soften at all, his lips curving into a grin that bordered on cocky as he took in your appearance. Your dress clung to your curves without being obscene, ending just above the knee. You’d paired it with one of your few pairs of flat boots, normally you favoured a heel to bring you closer to the heights of your colleagues. Your hands were pressed palms down against the door behind you, and when he tilted your head a little he could see your elevated pulse as your blood pumped forcefully through your carotid artery. Letting his hazel eyes come back to your own he licked his lips and surveyed you thoughtfully. ‘What do you think we should do about that?’ He asked, his voice soft but his tone dripping with authority.
You shifted slightly as you weighed up your options, moving your hips so his pressed against your abdomen, the thick line of his cock pressing into your soft flesh. He gulped at this and you grinned, this was territory you knew. You were a brat at heart, the game that had led you both here was textbook bratty submissive and now that you had your bearings again you were ready to play. ‘I’m sorry I toyed with you Dr Reid, especially without permission. Let me take care of the situation?’ He swallowed hard again as your fingers brushed over his erection, and you noticed his pulse had quickened to match your own. His eyes darted to the window between your office and the empty corridor outside, the blinds closed sufficiently that you were shielded from view.
Twisting the lock on the door handle you shimmied down until you were eye level with his crotch, your fingers still teasing lightly. ‘Please?’ You purred, looking up at him where he had braced himself on both hands against the door as he looked down at you, the hazel gold of his eyes almost eclipsed by his lust blown pupils. Your heart skipped at the sight and you couldn’t help the cheeky grin you gave him. Laughing quietly he matched your grin and whispered his consent, a fresh peel erupting from him when he saw your excited expression as you enthusiastically undid his pants. You held his gaze as your hands worked to expose him to you, removing his clothing only enough to give you access and keep him comfortable. Biting your lip as you freed his cock from its cotton confines you kept your eyes locked on his and slid your hand along his length. You felt a jolt of pleasure as your thumb caressed over his soft swollen head and collected the slick liquid that had gathered in his slit, the action causing him to moan softly and close his eyes as pleasure sparked through him.
You waited for his eyes to return to your own, slowly pumping him with one hand as you cradled his balls in the other, gently rolling them in your palm. When Spence got himself together enough to open his eyes and meet your gaze once more you smiled up at him. ‘Hold my hair for me?’ You asked softly and he groaned under his breath, palms leaving the door so he could scoop back your loose hair and hold it out of your way. When your lips finally came into contact with the sensitive underside of his cock he had to bite down on his fist to contain his desperate moan, bracing himself on his forearm against the door as you took him into your mouth. Every time he thought he could shift and look back down at you you’d change what you were doing, sucking a little harder, stroking him faster, teasing his taint with your fingers and he would have to muffle the noises you were drawing from him against his fist. He could feel his balls tightening as his orgasm drew closer at a ferocious speed but he didn’t want to finish this way. You’d been toying with him so he would take control and right now he wanted that more than your skilled mouth.
Tugging on the hair he held in his fist he drew you up to your feet and took your mouth in a fierce kiss that left you as breathless as you were surprised by the move. Letting go of your hair Spencer spun you round so you were pressed against the door, his hands working quickly to hike up your dress. You were about to reach back and continue stroking him when he spoke. ‘Palms on the door Y/N.’ He growled against your ear as his long fingers slid between your thighs and cupped your sex. Using his foot he tapped at your ankles, forcing you to spread your legs as his fingers found the edge of your soaked underwear and tugged them aside. You were trembling with anticipation and need as he stepped in close behind you, his cock sliding between your exposed ass cheeks while his fingers worked your slick cunt open. When he shifted his cock so it pressed against your entrance you had to clasp a hand over your mouth to keep from moaning, resting your forehead against the door as he angled your hips and slid into you. Your body was still shaking and Spence waited a few moments to let you both adjust to the overpowering sensations before he began grinding his hips against you, sliding out only the smallest amount in an effort to keep the slap of his skin on yours to a minimum. The fingers that had pulled your underwear aside now found your clit as Spence found his rhythm, bracing himself against the door with his forearm above your head. It was all you could do to just hold on as he moved within you, stretched up onto your tiptoes to accommodate his thrusts, your own forearm bracing you against the door as you rocked together.
Spence knew how to work you up quickly and you were on the verge of cumming within minutes, moaning into your palm and praying your legs didn’t give out just yet. You felt him throb inside you and your orgasm washed through you, his fingers only leaving your clit when you shook so violently he thought you might collapse. Wrapping his now freed arm around you he thrust into you a few more times before muffling his shout of release against your hair as he spilt inside you. You stayed like that, braced against your closed door, both of you panting and shaking, until his phone began vibrating on your desk. Untangling yourselves he managed to tuck his softening spent cock back into his boxers before grabbing the phone and answering it in an impressively normal and professional tone.
Having righted your underwear and dress you walked over to him where he stood listening intently on the call and did up his pants, checking to make sure your liaison hasn’t stained them in any conspicuous way. Deciding he looked good to go you gave him a thumbs up and he pressed a kiss to your forehead before he unlocked the door and walked out into the empty corridor, and back towards the BAU. Collapsing into your office chair you retrieved your now lukewarm coffee and took a long drink, checking your own phone for missed notifications. You’d just placed it back on the desk and logged in to your computer when it pinged, a message from Emily popping up on the screen. ‘Hope you enjoyed the fruits of your little game kitten x’ You blushed and grinned, sending her back a kiss face emoji and turning your attention back to work despite being keenly aware of the evidence of your tryst leaking from you into your ruined panties.

Stuff I Didn’t Buy
I know I JUST went to Goodwill, but I had to run to Walmart and if I’m going all the way into town, might as well pop into Goodwill, too.
Tumblr media
You know...
Tumblr media
Oh-ho-ho it’s them.
Tumblr media
I don’t think that goes in the mugs and glasses.
Tumblr media
Wrapped, new text book?
Tumblr media
This was set aside for some reason. I picked her up and looked at her (and put her shoe back on) but didn’t ask if she was being held or try to buy her. I didn’t look for a brand or anything. She was about 14 inches tall. Attractionista?
Tumblr media
Also found this Star Darling in the dishes and almost bought her but I have too many dolls already, so I put her back. No more dolls that I don’t really love.
At least, until I get rid of some of the for-sale ones.

A rigid gasp for air ends Dean’s tormenting dream. He bolts up in bed, sheets and yesterday’s clothes clinging to the cold sweat that covers every square inch of his skin. His heart is racing as if he just ran up ten flights of stairs, shivers wrecking his body. Eyes wide open he stares at the opposite wall, trying to calm himself by focusing on his breathing. It’s not real, Dean. Not yet. Not now.
The splitting headache that has haunted him ever since he locked Michael in that coolcell far in the back of his mind, pushes itself to the front, pounding behind his eyes in the rhythm of the archangel’s fists on the door. The hunter breathes in deeply and exhales, letting the air flow from his lips. He’s not in the box, he’s not drowning like he was a second ago, and although he knows it is written in Billie’s book that this will be how he will meet his end, he has to hold on to the present. Dean sighs and closes his eyes. I’m in control.
A knock on furnished wood draws his gaze towards his bedroom door, finding the tall silhouet of his brother, carefully pushing it open. Faint yellow light from the hallway reaches into room number eleven, illuminating only one side of Sam’s face, but it’s enough for Dean to make out the worried expression in his features.    “Did I wake you?” Sam asks hesitantly.     But the oldest of the Winchester brothers shakes his head, rubs his eyes and glances aside at his alarm clock. Not even 3 ‘o clock, so that gives him… two and a half hours of sleep? If you can call back to back nightmares sleep, anyway. Then Dean notices the scratches on the wall next to his bed, traces of crimson in the concrete. When he checks his right hand, he finds his fingertips bloody, his nails scraped away to the flesh.
The hunter shifts his gaze back to Sam, who honestly doesn’t look like his night was any better.     “What are you doing up?”, he wonders.     “Cataloging Bart Kemp’s stuff. Thought I might find something that could help us out. He owned a ton of occult objects,” Sam asserts.     “Need a hand?” Dean shifts, flopping his legs over the side.     Sam frowns at that. Dean who wants to catalog hundreds of ancient items? That’s a new one.     “Sure you don’t wanna get some rest?” Sam returns doubtfully, watching how his brother straps on his boots.     “Nah, I’m good. Can’t sleep anyway.” He gets up and runs his fingers through his hair, smoothening it out.
Avoiding his little brother’s concern, he pushes himself past Sam in the doorway, awkward unspoken words hovering between then. He can feel the tall hunter’s eyes, fixed to unravel what Dean is desperately trying to hide. Endless nights of terror as Michael wreaks havoc in his mind. Reliving the worst moments of his life and experiencing the new definition of hell that is yet to come. Trapped in the Ma’lak Box, screaming for help, for his brother, for Y/N, as he tries to crawl his way out while the water seeps in.
As Dean enters the library with Sam on his tail, he grabs yesterday’s half a bottle of Jack Daniels from the table, unscrews the cap and takes a swig. His eyes roam over the collection of curse boxes, books and scattered notes, again ignoring the look his brother is throwing him. He has never shied away from liquor, but these days he fills more whiskey tumblers than coffee mugs. Self-medicating, he keeps telling himself. Anything to shut the tremors down.     “So, what we got?” he wonders, trying to steer the attention away.     “Dean...”     “Don’t.”
With an agitated sigh the oldest of the two sits down, dismissing his brother’s attempt to start the conversation that he’s been trying to avoid for weeks. But for a short second, his mask wears thin. It confirms the worries that keep Sam up at night as well. Suddenly his brother seems older than forty, the age that the hunter miraculously reached last month. He’s much older when you count the decades he spent in Hell. Add the losses he suffered, the pain he’s been through, sleepless nights and tainted dreams; he’s an old soul, tired and worn. Keeping the Archangel on lock down is becoming more difficult with each day. Especially now that Michael is trying to break him by using the woman Dean lost his heart to.     “I heard you,” Sam admits. “I’m pretty sure the entire bunker did.”     Dean rolls his eyes slightly before looking away, opening his mouth to fire a second warning. But then Sam drops the bomb.     “I heard you call out for Y/N, too.”
Y/N. The name of the woman Dean loved more than he ever thought he would be capable of, especially after all the horror he bared witness to. The name that’s never mentioned, not because she’s not worth to remember, but because even after all those years, he’s still afraid that touching that subject will wreck him the same way her death did.
His heart starts to physically hurt as pressure on his chest builds. Struggling to hide the discomfort from showing, Dean has another swig of whiskey. He can’t prevent his jaw from clenching as he swallows down the alcohol, allowing the strong after burn to distract him. He could blow up on Sam, remind him of the fact that last time when he brought her up, Dean threatened to break his little brother’s nose if he ever would speak of her again. But Dean doesn’t counter. He’s too tired to fight Sammy, too.     “What do you want me to say, Sam?”     Sam spreads out his arms and lets them fall against his side, despondency in his stance.     “Anything!” he exclaims, his voice a little higher and a little louder than he anticipated. “Dean, I know nightmares come with the job, but this isn’t normal. Not even for us.”
“Of course it’s not normal, Sam! Having a fucking Archangel trapped in my head ain’t a typical day at the office either! Who do you think is causing these dreams, huh?” Dean snaps, looking Sam in the eye for the first time that night. Then he takes a breath and collects himself. Stop being an ass, Dean. Sammy’s just worried.     “Michael is pulling out all the stops to crush me before we pin him down. Keeping me quiet by giving me what I wanted didn’t work, so now he’s doing the opposite,” he continues, much calmer now. “During the day I can handle him, but at night…”
Mixed feelings cause the hunter to pause. He doesn’t want to burden his little brother with the weight that comes with the knowledge. He’s troubled enough as it is, frantically trying to find another way to expel Michael and lock him away where he can’t hurt anyone else. Another option, a scenario that doesn’t include his big brother on the bottom of the ocean in the Malak’ Box. But God, Dean needs an outlet.     “So this is his new approach? He shows you your darkest days?” Sam assumes, frowning empathetically.     Dean averts his eyes back to the bottle, his fingers around the glass body.     “On the big screen,” he confesses. “I’m not just watching, though.”     “What you mean?”     The younger Winchester has taken a seat, leaning his elbows on the rosewood surface as he leans over the table.     “I’m not a witness,” Dean begins to explain. “Sometimes I’m under water, like I’m in the Box already. Other times I experience memories I wish I could forget, exactly the way it went down. It… It feels real. I’m there, in the moment, but I can’t stop it. I can’t change what I did or didn’t do.”
Sam runs his hand through his dark hair, feeling terrible that his big brother is forced to endure this every time he closes his eyes. His mind floats back to the moment earlier tonight, when Dean’s screams reached his hearing. His own name echoed through the hallways, but the chilling cry when he called out for her, will stay with him for a much longer time.     “Dean, Y/N’s death was not your fault,” Sam tries to assure him.     But Dean disagrees, shaking his head as he leans back in his seat. “I was supposed to protect her. She shouldn’t have been there with me, Sam.”     “She was our back up.”     “Yeah, and it got her killed.”
Dean swallows down another slug of Jack Daniels and sniffs when he lowers the bottle, having downed almost a quarter of it’s content already. He bites his bottom lip hard, tempted to draw blood as he thinks about that day in Detroit. He remembers the argument they had before entering the apartment building where Lucifer held up. She refused to let the brothers go in by themselves, claiming that they needed a third man in case the plan went south and there was no one to finalize the mission. She didn’t just wanted to be there for them, she wanted to be there for him. He was about to lose his little brother forever, and she wanted to catch him before he fell to his knees. Dean allowed it reluctantly, and minutes later her skull was crushed against the concrete, bringing her short but meaningful life to a screeching halt.
He was supposed to have her back that night. She was his girl. His girl he failed to save. And it’s not just Y/N who haunts him, because the son of God was right. His father, the Harvelles, Ash, Bobby, Pamela, Charlie, Kevin… The list goes on. All perished either because they gave their life for the Winchesters, or because they got caught in the crossfire. That’s on him. Every loved one he ever lost lost, they are all casualties he blames himself for. He doesn’t need an Archangel to remind him of his wrongs.
Dean rises to his feet and pushes his chair back, its legs drawing such a loud screech from the smooth furnished floor, that Sam startles. Both were lost in thought for a moment, until the oldest of the two snaps out of it and decides that it’s time to get to work.     “Let’s not dwell on the fact that Michael is making my time in Hell look like Disney World. As long as I’m still sane, I much rather spend my night finding a way to end him.” He frowns at his little brother, his mask back on. “What do we got?”         The younger Winchester gathers his thoughts and shifts some notes aside.     “Well, uh - amongst all this there are a few artifacts that could be interesting. One of them is called the Pearl of Baozhu. It’s one of the eight ancient Chinese treasures.”     “What does it do?” Dean wonders.     “It grants wishes. Technically it’s supposed to give you ‘what your truly heart desires’.”     Hopeful Sam looks up to the hunter at the head of the table, who shrugs and seems to consider it.     “That would be Michael out of my head,” he concludes.     “Exactly.”     Dean takes a look around at the stack of boxes.     “So you’re telling me that the answer to our problems is sittin’ somewhere in this pile of shit?”     “Better start digging,” Sam suggests, pushing a box in his direction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Serenity lingers in the bunker in the early hours of a new day. The table lamps spread their light over the surface underneath, their rays warm and gentle for tired eyes. Dean is surrounded by several boxes and books, going through a journal while leaning back in his chair and with his ankles crossed, somewhat more relaxed now that he contributes to something useful. He’s nursing his whiskey, kept busy in search for a clue in order to find the Pearl. It’s a few minutes past five in the morning, when Sam opens his third box of the night and reveals a small bag, the silk fabric tied together with a yellow cord. Curiously Sam takes it out and loosens the tie, unfolding a little red cushion, on which a perfect round shape rests.     “Dean.”         “Hm?”     His brother doesn’t look up immediately, biting the end of pen as he scans through Bart Kemp’s notes.     “I think this is it,” Sam states, looking down at the tiny object that could be the solution to everything.      Now he does captures Dean’s attention, his green eyes darting up from sloppy handwriting to the little white ball.     “That’s the Pearl?” he checks, for some reason expecting something so powerful to be bigger.         Sam nods, hope pulling at the corner of his mouth. Intrigued Dean rises to his feet and circles the table, his eyes fixed on the powerful artifact.     “Let’s do it.”     “Are you sure you don’t want to call Mom, or wait for Cas?”, his brother suggests, somewhat anxiously.     “No,” Dean dismisses, taking the unfolded red cushion in both hands gingerly.  ‘If this mojo works like you say; great. If not; why get their hopes up?”
Sam holds his brother’s gaze for a moment, wondering if that’s all there is to Dean’s eagerness, or that the real reason why he’s jumping the gun, is his desperation for expelling the Archangel from the Alcatraz that is his mind. Deciding that this is not the time to test that theory, he agrees.     “Okay, so…” Dean reaches for the Baozhu, not sure if he can touch it without consequence. “What do I do?”     “I don’t know.” The younger brother shrugs hesitantly. “I… I guess you hold the pearl and concentrates on what your heart desires?”     “Michael out of my head.”      The man holding the Pearl imprints the sentence into his brain, while Sam shoots his sibling a short glare, as if just stated the obvious.     “Got it,” Dean reassures, just a little too quickly.
To Sammy it might seem cut and dry, but the man who is about to make a wish isn’t so sure. He could think of a list of things he would want differently. What would the world look like if the Yellow Eyed Demon hadn’t come after his family? If all evil would disappear from the face of the earth, just like that? Would Mom have raised her sons to have a normal childhood? Would his father still be around? Would Cas have descended from Heaven? Would Dean’s path crossed Y/N’s? Would she be alive?
Dean regains his focus, picks up the little white ball from the cushion and holds it between his thumb and his index finger. Michael out of my head. That’s all he needs to keep in mind. Right now, that is all he wants. Before he rolls the Baozhu into the palm of his hand, the brothers exchange one last look, but then Dean encloses his fingers around the tiny treasure with such great power, and shuts his eyes. With furrowed brow Dean concentrates.
It only takes a few seconds before an eerie electric static reaches his hearing, triggering him to look up. The wall lamps in the library flicker violently, until the power shortage causes the back up generators to start running. All secondary equipment is switched off and the emergency lights come on, draping the Winchesters in a red gleam. Sam observes his surroundings allerted, his eyes adjusting to the sudden darkness. Cautiously the men try to pick up on even the slightest movement or sound, their senses heightened, driven by instinct.
Then they hear footsteps. Sam pulls his gun from behind his waistband in a split second, aiming at the central War room. His brother isn’t as quick on the draw, though, a hint of familiarity in the way the boots sound on the marble floors slowing him down.     “Dean? Sam?”
Right there and then, Dean’s heart stops. He knows that voice, he’d recognize it anywhere. Soft and clear, just like he remembers, just like he dreamed. Shell shocked he stares down at the other room, where a silhouette appears from around the corner. Now he inhales sharply, wide eyes fixed on the figure approaching. No way… It can’t be.
The power switches back on, the ominous red emergency rays replaced with warm bright light. It reveals Dean’s careful suspicion and it knocks the air out of his lungs. He must be dreaming again. That, or he’s having a hallucination. It wouldn’t be far fetched, sleep deprivation and alcohol consumption considered. But when he steals a glance at Sam, he sees the same shocked expression while his brother slowly lowers his gun.     “Y/N?” he stammers.
She walks up the steps and halts under the arched entrance to the library, a little out of breath after her run down the hallways of this immense place. She glances from one Winchester brother to the other, her wild eyes leaving Dean for a second as she looks around at the impressive library. She doesn’t recognize the place, but despite the brick walls and lack of windows, it feels welcoming and safe. Wait, is that a telescope?     “What in the Hell? Where the fuck are we?” she wonders, returning her gaze to Sam. “And what happened to you guys? You both look like you aged a decade overnight.”
Sam lets the air flow from his lips with a short huff, not sure if she’s trying to be funny or doesn’t have a clue what is going on. It’s so unmistakably her, though. The wit, the way she lights the room, a carelessness in her stroll as she enters the library. This is, without a shadow of a doubt, his friend, the closest he ever had to a sister. He can’t take his eyes off her, and he’s not the only one. It doesn’t go unnoticed, because Y/N bounces her focus between the boys, frowning at the evident shock on their faces.
“W- why are you looking at me like that?” Uncomfortably she rubs her arm, her gaze now fixed on Dean.
Unable to answer, he dumbfoundedly stares, his mouth agape. A mix of disbelief and astonishment has the hunter frozen on the spot, something that rarely ever happens to him. In his nightmares the Ma’lek Box would slowly fill up, until he drowned. In reality it’s his emotions that overflow the walls of his mind, the waterline rising until it reaches his eyes. Mystic green shimmers, his vision fogging, but he still sees her. He still sees the woman he lost, yet never stopped loving.
Finally he’s able to move, stepping forward tentatively. With each step, Dean gets a little braver and closes the gap between them. When she’s at arm’s length, he stops, frantic eyes darting to take in every feature he never wants to forget. Afraid to burst the bubble, he slowly lifts his hand to her face. What if he touches her and she turns out to be nothing more than a mirage? An apparition of his hopes and dreams, crumbling to dust once he gets too close? Michael has played these kind of mind games before and it wrecked the broken hunter every time his fairytale world fell apart. But like he has done all those times, he reaches for her anyway, because what if this time, it is real?
His fingertips brush her soft skin, sending a shiver down her spine. Overcome by both love and fear that speak from his watering eyes, she returns a worried gaze. Not daring to speak, she keeps looking at Dean as he cups her face, brushing a messy strand away with his thumb. It’s clear as day that the connection moves the person who has such an important part in her life.
Feeling her under his touch, being able to connect with her when he thought he would never be able to again, it’s too much. He swallows down the lump that creeps up his throat, tears threatening to breach the walls. She’s here. Fuck, she’s really here.
Dean takes a final step towards the woman of his dreams while he pulls her in and, without wasting another second, he does what he has been longing for ever since her shattering death. He presses his lips to hers, kissing her with everything he has. For a short second he feels her tense against him, but then she slips her hands around his forearms and she answers him, melting into the kiss. The man who regained what he had lost can’t help the tremble in his breath, can’t stop the teardrops from rolling down his cheek. He doesn’t care about showing vulnerability, because finally… finally he got her back.
Tumblr media
They part and she opens her beautiful eyes, confounded by his actions. A small yet genuine smile forms, breaking the shimmering paths of sorrow that came down his cheeks. Then the hunter pulls her in a tight hug, burying his face in her hair. Her heart beats against his chest rapidly and he can smell the shampoo she always used, feel the warmth she’s radiating. Memories roll into shore and the tough hunter holds back a sob. Noticing his distress, Y/N folds her arms around his back, giving him a squeeze that calms him down like only she could. God, does this feel good. She came back to him. It’s then and there that me makes himself a promise. I’m never gonna let this go.
“Dean, you’re scaring me,” Y/N whimpers after a while.     The older Winchester brother snaps out of it and loosens his grip on her, distancing himself from her slightly, now that he realizes he lost track of time for a moment. He struggles to man up and shoots her another reassuring smile, not wanting to upset her.     “I’m sorry,” he utters, his voice raw and on the verge of breaking. “It’s just… It’s really good to see you after all this time.”     Puzzled she looks at him, not sure what he means by that.     “What are you talking about? I saw you last night.”
Dean narrows his eyes at her in confusion. She saw him last night? How is that even possible? She’s been gone for nine years!     “What day is it?”     It’s Sam who asks, drawing both their attention. Y/N looks aside, then averts her eyes as she thinks. Monday, or is it Tuesday? As a hunter, there is no routine. Nights last long and days fly by, blending together endlessly. She forgets what part of the week it is all the time, nothing new there. Home Depot was closed when she went out to pick up a few errands yesterday; that makes it Sunday. Which makes today...     “Monday,” she decides.     Sam motions her to continue.     “Monday, October 20th,” she adds. “2008.”
Stunned both boys look at her, the youngest of the brothers letting out a sigh now that his suspicion has been confirmed.     “Y/N, it’s 2019,” Dean informs, his voice soft to cushion the blow.     She cocks her head back at him, staring into his green eyes. Then she chuckles, shaking her head.     She scoffs. “No, c’mon, guys. That’s… that’s insane.”     But when both men keep a straight face that doesn’t in the slightest suggest that this is a joke, the grin on her lips fades. Unable to grasp what is happening, she takes a step back.
“How?” She questions firmly after a long silence, an uneasiness oozing through her veins.     “I think we - uh…” Sam stammers, not sure if he believes it himself. “I think we summoned you.”     Large eyes bore into him, then shift back to Dean, who watches empathetically how she struggles to process the information. Her gaze drifts off to nothing in particular, going over their words. This isn’t happening. This is fucking insane. Last week they wrapped up a hunt in Pennsylvania during Oktoberfest that involved a shapeshifter with a fetish for old school monster movies. That was enough crazy for one week, if you ask her. And now they are telling her that she was fast forwarded eleven years in time?     “You boys better tell me what the fuck is going on,” she demands. “Right now.”

<Previous Chapter
It was evening now, the sun had long lowered in the sky hinting at its soon setting. Two more tall glasses of scotch later Jared sat in the downstairs den, almost empty glass in hand. Lexi walked passed the den seeing Jared slouched on the brown leather couch. "Hey babe." Lexi chimed, walking into the smaller room. Setting her phone on the coffee table she saw the bottle of Scotch and then noticed the nearly empty glass in Jared's hand. "Drinking kind of early aren't we?" Standing she looked over Jared’s appearance noticing he looked off. And it wasn't just the Scotch. "You okay?"
Jared opened his mouth to speak and then stopped. He adjusted himself in his seat before leaning forward. His eyes confused and worried as he looked to her. "Why did you never tell me you were on drugs?"
"What?" She crossed her arms over her chest like a skittish child. "Wh-who told you that?"
He leaned forward a little more, placing his glass on the table. "Jensen and I were talking and-"
"And you couldn't just leave it alone?" Lexi spat dropping her arms to her side her demeanor changing instantly.
"You weren't telling me anything about it and I-"
"So you ask my brother about it instead of talking to me?!"
"You wouldn't have told me even if I'd asked!" Jared's voice began to rise as he stood from the couch. "If I would have known all of this in Texas I would have never let you see him!"
"Whoa, let me?!" Lexi said giving Jared a stern, challenging look.
"That's, that's not what I meant." Jared lowered his voice catching his slip
"I'm sure." Hot tears brimming her eyes.
"Lexi, come on, you know it's not like that."
"Yeah, like you didn't go behind my back and play twenty questions with Jensen!?"
"I wouldn't have had to ask Jensen anything if you would have just told me in the first place!"
"Why?! That has nothing to do with you!" Lexi's body was running hot with hanger.
"Nothing to do with me?! You used to take care of my kids!"
"After all of this happened! I didn't babysit stoned out of my mind! God, how could you even think that?!" She threw her hands up. "I'm not dealing with this right now." She turned away from him.
"Yes, you are!" Jared said as he reached and grabbed her arm firmly, stopping her and turning her back around with a strong jerk of his arm. Lexi immediately cowered back, lifting her opposite arm in defense, fear plastered on her face as a small cry slipped from her chest. She was bracing herself for his hand to come down on her. The panic that flashed in her eyes broke Jared's heart. "Lexi, I-I,"
When she felt his grip loosen she backed away with heavy breaths before turning and running to the stairs.
Jared began to go after her but stopped at the bottom of the stairs  He just stood there unsure about what had just happened. Did she really think he would hurt her? He cursed himself for scaring her like he did. He stood at the bottom of the stairs for what seemed like hours, but only a few short minutes, debating going after her.
Making up his mind he walked up the stairs and to her bedroom door. "Lexi?" He spoke lowly before reaching for the door handle.
"Get out!" She shouted at him across her room.
"Lexi, baby, we need to talk." He walked over to her.
"No, you need to leave!" She pushed him towards the door. "Get out!"
"Lexi, please just listen to me. Let me," Jared tried to take her hands in his but she pulled away.
"No!" She pushed away her hair that was sticking to her tear dampened cheeks."I don't want to talk to you!" Jared looked down and saw crimson peeking from her sleeve. He grabbed her wrist to pull up her sleeve but she yanked her arm away. "Stop it! Don't touch me!"
He looked at his hands and saw the blood smudge across his finger tips. "Oh God." His body felt cold. He reached pulling up her sleeve and his heart stopped.  "Baby, what did you do?" His voice was weak, drenched in fear.
"Let me go!" She jerked her hand away and stormed passed him.
Jared chased after her to find her sitting on the toilet seat with a towel wrapped around her arm, holding pressure. Jared stood in the doorway watching her try and stop the bleeding, fearful he would frighten her somehow.
He saw her breathing calm and her body stopped shaking after several long moments. Jared walked in and slowly knelt down in front of her. Her eyes glazed over as she stared into space, her expression totally blank as a tear rolled down her cheek, sudden calmness rushing over her.
"Lexi?" His voice cracked. "Let me see." He said, taking her arm, slowly lifting the towel. He grimaced seeing the raised skin of the still bleeding two inch cut. "You're gonna need to let me clean this." He said with one hand still holding pressure while he reached under the bathroom sink for a first aid kit. Lexi said nothing as Jared cleaned the cut with gauze and antibacterial solution, Lexi never flinching or even showing grimaced. She stayed blank aside from the rouge tears that rolled down her cheek every so often.
She quickly wiped it away, Jared Sitting back on his heels as he finished. "Lexi, can you talk to me?” Lexi looked down at the white bandage on her arm, fresh tears rising in her eyes.  Jared tossed the papers in the trash. "Come on." Jared stood, taking her hand bringing her to her room. Lexi stood in the doorway of her room as Jared pull d her blankets down. He reached a hand out and Lexi walked over sitting on the bed. "I'll go get you some tea, okay?"
When Jared left the room Lexi robotically changed her shirt, whipping the dried  tears from her face. Feeling completely drained, she lay in her bed pulling her knees to her chest.
Jared walked back to her room, tea in hand he stopped short of going out her room. He brought a second hand to the judge and gripped it tight. Her shirt was lifted from the way she was lying and he saw.  At least a dozen and a half marks, all like the one on her arm, splayed across her hip where her clothes usually covered. It was obvious she'd done this before. And recently.
His chest was hot and his heart thudded as he took a deep breath. He didn't know if it was anxiety, fear or anger creeping into him. But, he knew he needed to stay level headed for Lexi.
Jared gave a tap on the door, so he didn’t startle he any more than she was. She turned towards him and sat up slowly. "Camomile tea." He handed her the cup. She took it in her hands and sipped it. He watched her as she collected her thoughts.
Jared finally spoke, clearing his throat. "Lexi, I'm sorry I scared you," She looked up at him and although his voice steady, his expression was sorrowful. "I- I didn't mean to. I just was trying to get you to stop so we could talk." He reached his hand carefully unsure if she would pull away. When sh didn't he covered her hands around the hot mug. "Baby, I would never hurt you. I need you to know that."
She nodded. "I know." Her voice soft and low as it cracked. "We were yelling and screaming at each other and we were both so upset," Lifting a hand away from I'm Jared's grasp pushing her hair from her face. "When you grabbed me I just… reacted."
"I shouldn't have grabbed you though-"
"I know you didn't-" She took a deep breath placing her hand back to his. "I know you didn't do it out of anger and I know you didn't want to hurt me. You didn't hurt me. I just-"
"I know. You don't have to explain, I get it." Jared assured her.
Lexi stared at the cup in her hands neither saying a word. Jared had questions and things he wanted to say but didn't make a sound.
Lexi avoiding his eyes took a deep breath. "I know you're thinking I'm being dramatic." Jared looked up at her. "That- that I'm-"
"Lexi, stop." Lexi looked down ashamed as Jared rubbed his thumb back and forth on the back of her hand. "I'm not thinking any of that. I - I'm thinking, if my girlfriend is hurting this much why didn't she come to me?" Jared lifted a hand to her cheek. "Baby, why didn't you talk to me?"
She might bed away from his touch causing him to frown. "Because I was scared." She spoke in a broken voice.
"Scared of what?"
"Your reaction." Lexi wiped away more tears that fell.  "If you knew the whole story from when I was in LA."
"Baby, I wouldn't-"
"Jared, you look at me like I'm the fucking sun." She spat out he eyes hot with fresh tears. "If you knew half of it, you wouldn't look at me at all."
"Try me." He dipped his eyes, making sure she looked at him.
His eyes. Those starbursts of blues, greens, grey and golds that pull her in like gravity.  Her heart rate evened out. Her body relaxed little by little. She placed the cup to the side and ran her hands over her face. "I did the drugs to stay numb." She spoke, not looking at Jared, her arms crossed over her as she slumped against the pillows. "When he started shoving me and grabbing me, it wasn’t bad, but when the actual slapping and hitting started, I-" She looked towards her window, tears clear in her eyes. Jared wanted to reach out and hold her but knew she needed to get this out. "I was stupid. I stayed with him. I let him talk me into trying pills, and when I realized I was numb to what he was doing, I kept going. Trying harder things as time went on. The thing is, he noticed I was blank to it all too." Lexi tried to keep her emotions in check. Taking several deep breaths but never looking at Jared. She couldn't. Because she was terrified that if she would look at him she would see a reaction of anger or disgust and she couldn't handle that. But she kept talking.  "He started making me do...things...to his friends."
Jared shut his eyes and swallowed hard to keep himself calm as he listened attentively.  "After the first time, I begged him not to make me do it again. When that time came and I refused he-" Ashe gave an unamused chuckle. "Well let's just say I didn’t know I could take a punch that hard and stay standing."
"So, he tried to pimp you out?" Jared clarified controlling his emotions.
"For drugs, yeah."
"And when you’d refuse, he'd beat you."
"I became pretty good at hiding the marks and bruises, especially from Jensen. I also did more crap to keep from feeling what was happening."
"Why didn't you leave him?" He asked honestly.
"Because I loved him. And I thought that it would get better."
"That wasn't love, babygirl." He moved next to her. "What we have, you and me, this is love. Me wanting to keep you safe and protect you, that's what love is." He took her face into his hands, wiping her tears. "He was just a little boy that got off on overpowering you. He took advantage of the fact that you were vulnerable. He is the kind of person who fed off of controlling someone."
A small cry escaped her as she wiped her eyes for what seemed like the hundredth time. "How could you possibly be this understanding? How could you not think I'm disgusting or-"
"Because I love you, Lexi. Nothing is going to change that. Not what you did or what you had happen to you." Lexi looked at him in awe of the reaction he was having. All she could do was wrap her arms around him and cry. She let her emotions take over and laid it all out.

Nott and Beau, Secrets told and secrets kept
Hey, remember when I was doing these! I finally got back to them. “All” may have been a tall order; I’m hopeful for “more than I’ve currently filled.” Warnings for self-medication -- because, well, Nott -- and violent/disturbing implications. Vague spoilers for episode 14.
“So,” Beausaid, leaning over the table. “Nott.”
Nott tensed, tightening her grip on her new flask. Beau said a lot of things inthe tone of voice that she'd just used, and she said most of them toMolly; it could make a show that lasted all evening, and that wasjust fine for Molly, but Nott had no interest in being part of theperformance.
“Beauregard,”she said, as amiably as she could. “Would you like a drink?”
“Sure,” Beausaid. “What've you got?”
“Whatever youwant, I think,” Nott said, swirling the flask nervously. She hadn'tbeen drinking much tonight; no need, in the tavern's quietalmost-safety. She took a swig now. “This is whiskey, I think.”
“Whiskey soundsgood,” Beau said, holding out her cup. Nott poured her a generoustriple-shot over the dregs of her beer. “I've been meaning to askyou about something.”
“Oh?” Nottsaid, and took another sip of the whiskey. It didn't burn too much, but it tasted strong, which probably meant it was good whiskey. She'dnever much cared; it helped, or it would soon. She hoped.
“When we werehaving that whole thing with Molly,” Beau said, swirling her mug ina slow circle. The tavern light flickered over her face, the narrowprecision of her stare. Beau had sharp eyes; Beau, and Molly, andJester all three did. Nott kept a watch for sharp-eyed people in thesame way she watched out for other goblins and snarling dogs. “TheLucien thing. It got me wondering... are there any surprises in yourpast that might, you know, catch us like that? Stab us in the backsome night?”
“Are you askingeveryone this?” Nott asked, hunching her shoulders. Caleb wasupstairs (safe, in easy earshot), calling Frumpkin back from anotherugly death; Fjord was at the bar, caught up in some conversation withJester. No rescue coming, and Molly and Yasha were outside doingsomething with the wagon, which ruled out any hope of distractioneither. Unless one of the barmaids got up on a table and starteddancing.
“Not yet,”Beau said. “I'll ask them if it comes up. And, look, I'm not askingyou for all your secrets, or whatever. I just need to know what Ishould know.”
“That's alittle circular, isn't it?”
“Ugh –”Beau rolled her eyes. “Look. Don't get me killed over your shit. Ifyou've got shit that's gonna get me fucked, tell me enough that Iknow how to look for it. I don't wanna die over your enemies.”
“Well, I don'twant to die over yours!” Nott said. “Do you have any enemies?”
“Let's say Idon't have any I think are gonna try and stab my friends,” Beausaid.
“Are wefriends?” Nott asked. Beau twitched, the whiskey sloshing in hermug.
“I dunno,”she said. “Are we not?”
“You'rethreatening me!” Nott protested.
“I was not!I was not threatening you, come on, I was asking a question –”
“It was verythreatening,” Nott insisted, and took another drink. “Maybe it'slike the compliments,” she offered, “and you were verythreatening by accident.”
“Eh, maybe,”Beau said, exasperated. “I'll ask Fjord.”
“Good idea, dothat,” Nott said, inching towards the end of the bench.
“You gotta giveme an answer, though,” Beau said, leaning forward. Nott stopped.“You got anything going on that's going to fuck me if I don't knowabout it?”
“Not in thenorth,” Nott said. “Not anywhere we're going. If we get nearanything... I'll let you know.”
“All right,”Beau said, sitting back. “You do that.”
Also, I'm a goblin, and mostpeople are going to try and kill me on sight, but you already knowthat and don't seem to be worried about it – why? Because it'spredictable? You don't mind; everyone minds, except Caleb, and hedoesn't have anyone else; you could probably have someone else; whydid you all let us stay – Nottswallows another mouthful of whiskey and clips the flask back ontoher belt. “Why are you asking me?” she asked. “You said youweren't asking everybody. What about me made you think someone mightbe after me?” Everything.
“Youseemed really determined that Molly should know more about Lucien,”Beau said. “I was wondering if you were maybe... projecting alittle.”
“Youthought he should know more too!”
“No,I thought he wouldn't have to automatically start caring about hispast if he learned about it,” Beau said. “That's different. Youwere the one telling him he needed toknow.”
“Ithink he does,” Nott said. “Anyway, it doesn't matter. He's notready, and he doesn't want my help, and that's fine. It's hisbusiness.”
“So...is there stuff in your past you don'twant to forget?” Beau asked. “Stuff you think you need to know?”
“Thisis turning into an interrogation, suddenly,” Nott protested. “Ithought you weren't asking me for all my secrets.”
“Wha– I'm just curious!” Beau protested. “I'm just trying to get toknow you, you know, break down the barriers a little bit.”
“Ididn't think I was your type,” Nott said. “I thought you wentfor... taller.”
“Agh!”Beau threw up her hands. “Listen, I just wanna know. I'm curious. So sue me. Whatever.”
SometimesNott had to wonder how old Beau really was. Five, six – maybeseven? Or whatever that would be, for humans. Seventeen? Eighteen? She wasn't sure of the math.
“I've...made some mistakes,” she said, instead of asking. “And there'ssome mistakes you only get to make once, and some I only... some Ionly want to makeonce.” She closed her eyes, for an instant: blood on her fingers, bones in her teeth, meat sweet and soft and tender in her mouth, withthe juices soaking into her tongue. Human sobbing in the distance, like rot in her stomach; and the memory of clamping her mouth shut, because she had, she had tokeep down the first good food she'd gotten in months. The laughter ofher clan around her.
“Youhave to know what you've done,” she said, “so you know whatyou're never going to do again. If you don't know you've been worse,then... you can't be better.” She glanced up, folding her arms.“And that's all I'm going to say about it. Unless you want to startsharing.”
“Idon't,” Beau said. “All right. Cool. Just... keep us updated. Wedon't want trouble.”
“No,”Nott said, standing. “I don't think we do.” She paused, thenreached out and snagged Beau's mug.
“Hey!”Beau said. “You can just have more, you've got that magic thing –” Nott ignored her, knocking thelast dregs of whiskey down, and left.

Arplis - News: Coffee Peanut Butter Sweet Rolls | #SpringSweetsWeek
Hello, friends! I am excited to provide you a bit of escapism in the form of these ooey-gooey coffee peanut butter sweet rolls. Today’s coffee sweet roll recipe features Door County Coffee. Thanks, Door County friends! This post is sponsored in conjunction with #SpringSweetsWeek. I received product samples from sponsor companies to help in the creation of my recipes. All opinions are my own. A Sweet Week for you, My Friends I am truly glad you’re here today, friends. This event, #springsweetsweek, has been in the making for months and months, and we all decided to go on with it because who doesn’t want to look at all the tastiness, plus make a lot of these recipes if they can?! These sweet rolls are the first of three recipes I’ll be sharing with you this week, so please stick around. There is also a giveaway brought to you by our sponsors. Seven prizes from seven sponsors, so please make sure to enter for chances to win! Along with all the other recipes from participating bloggers, you’ll find sponsor information, prize descriptions, and the entry form below the recipe. Good luck! Making the Dough This dough is a straight dough, which pretty much means that all the ingredients go into the pool at one time. I do make a couple of concessions about the order I add things, though. Yeast does not like salt, so I make sure to put the salt in first with some of the wet ingredients (eggs, egg yolks, and melted butter, in this instance), dump on all the flour, and add the yeast on top before pouring in the coffee. Yes, coffee. I usually like to use buttermilk in my sweet rolls, but this time, I used double strength coffee from one of our sponsors, Door County Coffee. They have a ton of different flavors, and their “Peanut Butter Crunch” flavor inspired me to make what was going to be cinnamon rolls into peanut butter sweet rolls! At any rate, just add all the ingredients to your mixer in the order I specify, and you will be good to go. Promise! Rising and Rolling The dough gets a beautiful almost amber color, thanks to the coffee and egg yolk in the recipe. It’s very easy to work with, especially after refrigeration. Once you have your dough all beautifully made and kneaded, form it into a ball, spray the top, cover it, and let it rise very slowly in the fridge for at least 8 and up to 24 hours. It will have gotten noticeably bigger, but it might not be doubled in size. In the photo above, you can see the risen dough, and then the next three steps: turning out the dough onto a clean work surface and pressing out all the gases (otherwise known as “punching down.”) starting to roll out the dough into a rectangular shape, and the finished rectangle, about 18″ long and maybe 14-16″ tall. How to Mix And Spread the Filling The filling is very easy to make. Just mix all the ingredients together until evenly combined. That’s peanut butter, brown sugar, softened cream cheese, melted butter, a pinch of salt and some optional coffee extract. You can see how I just dotted the surface of the dough with the filling and then spread it out from edge to edge, keeping about 1 1/2″ clear at the far end. After rolling the dough up, just pinch the seam together as well as you can. Don’t worry if it doesn’t completely seal. They won’t unroll because all the rolls will press on each other as they rise and bake. How to Cut Twelve Even Rolls I have used both dental floss and a good serrated knife to cut cinnamon rolls and sweet rolls. Either will work. This time, I used a serrated knife and was perfectly happy with the results. The chilled dough stands up well as long as you saw with the knife and don’t press it straight down. Here’s how I cut mine to get the most even slices I can: First, I cut off the two ends, which aren’t very even. Then I cut the log of dough in half, and the halves in half so I have 4 even pieces of dough. Cut each quarter of the log into 3 even slices, and voila! 12 rolls! Place them evenly in your non-stick pan. You do not have to grease the pan. Secrets to a Good Rise My favorite way to ensure the rolls rise beautifully is to make them a cozy place in the microwave. Look how much they expand during the rise. I gave mine 1 1/2 hours, and then they rise even more in the oven. Here’s how to do it: fill a mug with water. Bring it to a boil in the microwave. Carefully move the mug over to the side, and then slide in your covered pan of rolls and close the door. And that’s how you make a homemade proof box! If the second rise takes over an hour, you may have to remove your rolls for a minute so you can reheat the water to keep your proof box nice and warm and humid. Streusel and Baking The streusel was my friend Brandy’s genius idea. She is the mind and cook behind Nutmeg Nanny, and her Amish Peanut Butter Pie uses little peanut butter and powdered sugar “nuggets.” She suggested I give it a try, and I was all in. I really love the way the nuggets bake up into sweet, slightly crunchy, peanut butter streusel. They’re much more delicate than regular streusel, which is made with sugar and flour. The peanut butter “streusel” is very easy to make in a mixer or with a hand mixer. Just mix up peanut butter, powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, and a tiny bit of (optional) coffee extract. Spread the sweet peanut buttery nuggets all over the tops of the rolls. If some falls down in between the rolls, that’s completely okay. Bake them for about 35 minutes and just look how gorgeous they are and how much they rise in the oven! Let them cool, and then glaze them. You can let the glaze set up for a couple of hours, but if you can’t wait, I won’t blame you. I mean, look: Need a Gluten-Free Version? My friend Sandi from Fearless Dining can hook you up with some gluten free cinnamon rolls with a peanut butter glaze you’re going to love. A Note About Measurements NOTE: Most of my recipes are written by weight and not volume, even the liquids. Even though I try to provide you with volume measurements as well, I encourage you to buy a kitchen scale for ease of measuring, accuracy, and consistency. This is the scale I use, love, and recommend: I really hope you love these sweet rolls, you guys! If you make some, please share a photo with me, either in the PCO Facebook Group or on instagram by tagging @onlinepastrychef and using hashtag #pcorecipe. Thanks, and enjoy! And don’t forget to keep scrolling to find the other recipes and to enter the contest, friends. Take care. Peanut Butter Sweet Rolls Recipe Yield: 12 Prep Time: 40 minutes Cook Time: 35 minutes Rise/Fridge Time: 1 days Total Time: 1 days 1 hour 15 minutes These sweet rolls are made with sponsor Door County Coffee in the dough and in the glaze. The filling is a gooey mixture of brown sugar, peanut butter, cream cheese, and melted butter. You'll love the sweet little nuggets of peanut buttery streusel on top, and you won't want to miss the cream cheese coffee glaze. The long, slow overnight rise--which you can push to 24 hours if necessary--gives to plenty of down time to do other things. After you pull the dough from the fridge, roll it out, spread on the filling, roll, slice, add the streusel, bake, and then glaze. All in all, these coffee peanut butter sweet rolls are rich, gooey, something a little bit different, and perfect to share for brunch or whenever a comforting peanut butter smackerel is necessary. Print Ingredients For the Dough 2 large eggs 2 egg yolks 2 oz brown sugar 4 oz unsalted butter, melted and cooled to warm 1 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (I use Morton's) 20 oz bread flour 2 teaspoons instant yeast 6 oz double strength coffee, cooled to warm (I used Door County in Peanut Butter Crunch) For the Filling 3/4 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy) 1 cup brown sugar heavy pinch of salt 2 oz cream cheese at room temperature (1/4 block) 2 oz butter, melted (1/2 stick) 1/2 teaspoon coffee extract, optional For the Peanut Butter Streusel 1/2 cup peanut butter 1 cup powdered sugar pinch of salt 1/4 teaspoon coffee extract For the Glaze 2 oz cream cheese at room temperature (1/4 block) 1 oz butter at room temperature (2 Tablespoons) 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 2-4 teaspoons double strength coffee, or enough to make a glaze the consistency you like Instructions For the Dough Place the eggs, yolks, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt in the bowl of your stand mixer and whisk by hand until combined. Dump in all the flour followed by the yeast. Pour on the cooled coffee. Fit your mixer with the dough hook and mix on low until the dough comes together, about 2 minutes. Increase the speed to medium and knead until the dough is soft and smooth and very stretchy, about 8-10 minutes. Form the dough into a smooth ball, place it back in the bowl, and spray the exposed dough with pan spray. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lint-free kitchen towel and refrigerate for 8 hours and up to 24 hours. To Shape and Bake Pull the dough out of the fridge, turn it out onto a clean work surface, and press out all the gases. Use a rolling pin to roll it into a rectangle about 18 inches on the long side and 12-14" on the short. Take your time. Spread out the filling evenly on the dough, leaving about 1 1/2" of dough clear on the long end away from you. Roll up the dough into a jelly roll. Use a bench knife for some help if you need it. Pinch the seam together as best you can. Cut off either end of the roll to even it up. Slice the remaining dough log into equal pieces by first cutting the log in half, cutting the halves in half, and then cutting each piece into thirds. Place in a 9 x 13 pan, 3 across the short way and 4 down. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 1/2 hours, or until nice and puffy and almost doubled. During the last 30 minutes of the rise, preheat oven to 350F. Once the rolls are nicely risen, sprinkle evenly with the peanut butter streusel. Bake for 30=35 minutes until the rolls are deeply golden brown and well risen. The internal temperature in the center should be at least 195F. Remove from the oven. Cool to barely warm before glazing. Store at room temperature for up to 3 days. Microwave each roll for a few seconds before serving. For the Filling In a medium bowl, mix all the filling ingredients together until evenly combined. For the Peanut Butter Streusel Place all the ingredients together in the bowl of your stand mixer (or in a bowl and using a hand mixer) and mix with the paddle attachment (or your beaters if using a hand mixer) until you get soft crumbles. For the Coffee Glaze MIx the cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar together until smooth. Add the coffee, a bit at a time, and mix until you get a nice glaze consistency. Notes Can I Make a Half Recipe? If you only want or need 6 rolls, feel free to half the recipe, especially if you have a smaller 4.5 quart mixer. You'll be fine to simply cut each measurement in half, including the yeast. Rising Once you make the dough, you can refrigerate it for up to 24 hours if you need to. But give it at least 8 hours for a nice, cold rise. Freezing Cut the rolls apart and freeze on a sheet until firm. Then wrap each one individually in plastic wrap and foil and freeze for up to a month. Thaw at room temperature overnight or in the microwave on medium power. For best results, freeze them before glazing. Allow to come to room temperature before glazing. Let the glaze set up for about an hour and then heat each roll for a few seconds in the microwave. Good Morning Gentle Reader….  Beautiful day yesterday, spent an hour or so on the beach and then hours or so it seemed.. Shopping..! but it’s the beach again today, we don’t spend a longtime there, maybe an hour or so, but it surely is a great place to relax, if we get to the sand about 11 am until 1 pm its locals on the beach after that, it’s sunburn city as the tourist arrive to get as much of a tan as possible before they go back to whence they came.. as we live here there is no pressing need to get a tan, we already have one, for us, it’s more to relax as I said earlier and to top the tan up so to speak….  And Bella is as black as can be so she doesn’t need any more color…..
DOG DETAINED BY DYFED-POWYS WALES POLICE FOR TWO YEARS…. Dyfed-Powys Police has detained a dog in kennels for more than two years as part of an inquiry. The force is yet to make a decision on whether or not the animal is destroyed, returned to its owner or rehomed. It would not give full details as to why the animal was being held, saying it related to "an ongoing case". It has been highlighted by BBC Radio 4's You and Yours programme in an investigation into the costs of enforcing the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act. The programme found animals suspected of being pit bull terrier types were routinely detained for periods of longer than 14 weeks. A senior officer has said forces in England and Wales were spending £3m annually on kennel cost with the length of time courts take to resolve disputes over breeds blamed for the longest delays. In 2017, just over 2,000 dogs were detained by police, the vast majority under the Dangerous Dogs Act, according to 29 forces in England and Wales which responded to a Freedom of Information request. Of those, at least 334 were taken because they were suspected of being a dangerous breed, although they did not need to be out of control or a threat. No further details have been revealed about the Dyfed-Powys Police case but the programme found it was responsible for the longest detention period. Figures showed the force has paid out £105,246 in fees for kennels, transportation and veterinary costs for 53 animals since 2014. North Wales Police spent £154,307 on fees in the same period but it has not revealed the number of dogs detained.
ABBA HAVE 'NOTHING TO PROVE' WITH NEW SONGS, SAYS BENNY ANDERSSON….  The band announced last week they have recorded two new songs, which will be released later this year. "I don't feel that we have to prove anything," Benny told BBC News. "I don't feel we have to think about, 'Oh, what if it was better before?' "Maybe it was, but we can't care about that. We do it because we think it was a good thing to do." He added: "We enjoyed it very much. We'll see. I hope you'll like them." He said the songs came about while he and Bjorn Ulvaeus were in the studio working on a project where the band will tour as avatars. "So we said, 'Hmm, maybe we should try and write a couple of songs, ask the ladies if they want to come in and sing'. And they said, 'Yeah, absolutely'. So it was just, out of pure joy I'd say."
SWEDISH MEATBALL ADMISSION: THEY'RE TURKISH…. Swedish meatballs, the national dish of Sweden, have been revealed to have originated from another country - Turkey. A post on Sweden.Se, the nation's official Twitter account, on Saturday told followers: "Swedish meatballs are actually based on a recipe King Charles XII brought home from Turkey in the early 18th century. Let's stick to the facts!". Reaction to the news has included speculation over what other foods may be Turkish, and what this may mean for Swedish furniture store Ikea, known for its meatballs. Many Turkish media outlets have called the tweet a "confession" and pointed out it is not the only product the King took to Sweden. The Anadoly Agency refer to Annie Mattson, a researcher at Sweden's Uppsala University, who claims the King also brought with him coffee beans and stuffed cabbage. King Charles reigned from 1697 to 1718 and is said to have lived in Bender near Moldova, part of the old Ottoman Empire, after losing a battle with Russia.
BACKLASH OVER PLAN TO GIVE OUT 'MODESTY PONCHOS' AT PROM…. A school in Michigan has been criticised over threats to make students wear a "modesty poncho" if they fail to adhere to a strict dress code for their prom. People on social media have supported students who posted photos of the ponchos, saying the policy highlighted society's double standards towards men and women. The dress code for the dance includes requirements such as "no exposed cleavage", "no backless dresses" and "hemlines no shorter than one inch above the knee joint". Students were told they might be sent home if they flouted the dress rules but the problem came to a head when "modesty ponchos" were put on display around the Divine Child High School in Dearborn. A note attached to the poncho read: "If your dress does not meet our formal dress requirements - no problem! We've got you covered - literally. This is our modesty poncho which you'll be given at the door." As a result of complaints a letter has since been sent to parents stressing that the additional garments will not be handed out on the night.
CALGARY POLICE: BODY BEHIND WOMEN'S TOILET WALL 'ACCIDENTAL'…. Canadian police have ruled out foul play after a man's body was found behind the wall of a women's public toilet in the province of Alberta. Authorities say the man was alone when he entered the restroom in a Calgary city centre shopping mall last week. They believe he climbed behind a short wall, through the vent shaft, got stuck, and died on the evening of Friday 27 April. His motivation for crawling behind the wall remains a mystery. The body of the man, who was in his 20s, was discovered by a maintenance worker on Monday. The worker removed a wall panel in order to repair a toilet that would not flush and found the remains. "It is believed that [the victim] climbed on top of a pony [short] wall which was directly behind the toilets and removed a vent cover, which was located on top of the wall," police said in a release. "The pony wall, used to hide utilities, is approximately 7ft tall and is not connected to the ceiling and has no other access points." Based on evidence police say they believe the man climbed inside the wall through the vent. His identity was not released and police say they will not send out any further information because the death is considered accidental.

First Drive: 2018 Infiniti QX80
CHARLESTON, South Carolina – Big three-row SUVs have become de facto flagships for certain luxury brands. Think Cadillac Escalade, of course, and the all-new Lincoln Navigator. Or, in our case today, the Infiniti QX80. While these brands have struggled to compete with their sedans against the flagship of flagships, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, their body-on-frame SUVs offer much of the luxury of the S-Class, throw in high-level towing and some off-road capabilities, and return huge profit margins.
Infiniti unveiled a 2018 model-year facelift of its relatively low-volume, high-profit QX80 recently at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show because the Middle East, along with Russia and the U.S., is one of this model’s most important markets. In fact, Infiniti sells the QX80 in just 27 of the luxury brand’s 50 markets, so 23 go without this flagship.
For 2018, Infiniti redesigned the QX80’s sheetmetal from the A-pillar forward, featuring a taller, more prominent and more upright grille with a new LED headlamp and foglamp design. Sheemetal of the liftgate has been redesigned, as well as the taillamps and rear bumper finisher.
A new 20-inch wheel design is standard, and there are new 22-inch optional forged aluminum alloy wheels. When fitted with the 22s, the SUV rides on 275/50R-22 all-season tires with a slightly softer sidewall. According to product planning senior manager Anand Patel, this helps enhance was he calls a “comfort-focused suspension.” The QX80 has relied on its Hydraulic Body Motion Control to mitigate the vehicle’s relatively soft ride since the 2011 model year. The suspension’s automatic leveling system also is standard, and the QX80 comes with either rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive. As before, 4WD settings are automatic, 4-high and 4-low.
This all works well enough that the 2018 Infiniti QX80 doesn’t feel like a body-on-frame vehicle with the usual sideways shake on rough and crumbled roads. Like the old model, the new one is the most comfortable competitor in the big luxury SUV segment, and was able to handle the gentle sweeping curves on the coastal roads near Charleston with good body control. The carryover 400-hp 5.6-liter provides the sort of acceleration you’d expect from a big V-8 powering a big and heavy SUV. Nice motorboat gurgle under full throttle.
Though it’s far from the first luxury vehicle thus described, inspiration for the QX80, especially its updated cabin, was a luxury jet, Patel says. And yet, it’s a ground-bound lux-jet that can withstand kids. The QX80 has the segment’s lowest average-age buyer, Infiniti says, and more than 60 percent of them are married with children, highest in the segment.
There are three climate zones, a phone pocket ahead of the two cupholders in the front console, and those cupholders now feature a notch for the popular new, insulated metal coffee mugs and their handles. There’s a new information/entertainment screen with high-resolution (though its 8-inch diagonal size is a bit small in this age of Tesla-wannabees) plus two additional USB ports, and wireless headphones for the rear entertainment system.
A new digital rearview mirror operates off the rear camera, so you can see what’s behind you even if you have tall passengers in the third row, or luggage piled up to the headliner. It’s adjustable for height and brightness, and like GM’s digital rearview mirror, you can turn it off and use it as a regular mirror if you prefer.
The 2018 Infiniti QX80 is available with two grades of interior leather, including a semi-aniline upgrade and both with a stain-resistant coating. There’s a new saddle-brown interior color, and it’s very rich-looking, with French stitching, supple padding at all the touch points, and perhaps the most tasteful diamond-pattern seat inserts in the business. The seats remain comfortable even after a few hours (with breaks) of driving or riding; you don’t sit too high on the cushion, nor do they envelop you.
Second row leg- and headroom is ample, and the seats flip-and-tumble easily for access to the third row, which is, well, the third row. It offers decent headroom, however, and even legroom isn’t bad, at least for shorter rides.
The woodgrain-style plastic on the dash and center stack was less impressive. On the dash, it’s a thin horizontal strip above the glovebox and airbag, though it’s directly in the front passenger’s line of site. There’s also a rough seam around the sun visors, which might seem a nit-pick issue, though like the fake wood it seems especially out of place in an otherwise nicely finished interior.
Infiniti also has added new driver-assist automation features. There’s a predictive forward-collision warning that can see two vehicles ahead, lane-departure warning and prevention, intelligent cruise control along the entire speed range with distance-control assist, forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, and back-up collision warning.
None of this is particularly state-of-the-art though. The lane-departure control is very gentle in keeping you between the lines, except for the beeping. This is no Nissan ProPilot Assist, which itself is no Cadillac SuperCruise. After all, the 2018 Infiniti QX80 is a mid-cycle update of the ’11 Infiniti QX80, a refresh that will carry the model through the recent launch of the new Lincoln Navigator, and through the much-anticipated launch of the next-generation Cadillac Escalade, which is expected just ahead of an all-new Infiniti QX80 coming about the 2021 model year. Mid-cycle updates don’t allow for the latest in automation and connectivity if the basic platform is seven years old.
With no changes to the powertrain, EPA fuel economy remains a thirsty 14/20 mpg city/highway for the RWD model, and 13/19 for the 4WD model. So long as gas remains cheap and available, that shouldn’t be an issue for target customers. Young families will have to decide whether they want to forego some of the latest gadgetry in order to get what’s probably the quietest, most comfortable luxury land jet in the segment.
