#lyricposting#i like how this song manages to make a love story out of a narrative of checking out a book from the library#And there's space themes. what more can you like#see what's interesting about ozma is how they seem to be invoking geek rock with narrative love songs#that latch on to offbeat themes like this. but they lack a strong aspect of geek rock#that being the self-deprecation/not taking oneself seriously. ozma seems to take themselves very seriously#(which is different from telling stories with a serious tone or only handling serious topics)#and if they are not taking themselves seriously then they're operating behind a frankly scary number of layers of irony#so they're like. i don't know. art school weezer. but good#also i feel like saying i hear the most of this in the doubble donkey disc & spending time on the borderline#.your takeaway is that i will pay attention to everything in a love song/body of love songs but the romance
