the thing is I am pro-rpf on principle, but I do think you should keep it away from the actual people you're shipping. but it is NOT out of concern for their comfort (insert pete wentz bank account post), it's for the same reason that like animal behaviorists and field biologists and such try to stay out of view when they're observing animals in the wild. don't tip them off it's gonna to skew the results of my study.

doesn't it suck? that for native fans their time spent in any fandom or enjoying any bit of media is time spent under a countdown till there's racism among the fans or in the work or from the creator that targets them specifically, that goes uncontested, and will not tolerate being objected to itself. till the indigenous fan has to pack up & leave wherever they might've been having genuine fun, or else gag themself so nobody among the colonist masses knows they're hurt. doesn't it suck?

okay let me try something a little different
#i have no other ways to promote it. story promotion is not my forte#prose for pun and profit#names changed from the original for reasons. here's an almost direct lift from the notebook i'm currently going through#lately much of what i've written in it has been summary-style stuff rather than proper narratives because that's the easier way to approach#an au or other story idea at first blush#also sprach#this was a really fun thing to write originally- it's just two pages in my notebook#i've rarely done prose for this story idea but the tone & everything was already quite strongly decided... speaking of which#i sorta feel maybe my blog needs a content warning: i talk about suicide & self-harm & all that lovely stuff#but exclusively through the lense of fiction

#last time i was inventing an ensemble cast they were almost all from outside the u.s.#there were like 2 exceptions and one of them was at least a 2nd-generation immigrant#here it's still not a purely american cast (& i'm not finished with it yet) but it is majority american#so i get to have a very particular kind of fun trying to give everyone the most interesting names possible regardless#no ''williams'' or ''martin'' or ''walker''. nothing of the sort. hardly even matters that a lot of the cast is kinda cis#also sprach#now in case anyone asks: currently unnamed zombie apocalypse story is also a funny little alternate history story#and that's my excuse for everyone getting a ''middle'' name#ocposting
