Do you think a reason for why android theories /non talesgames theories are so strongly disliked by so many people could be what it does to new characters in the series? what i mean by that is, a lot those kinds of theories have newer characters essentially be overwritten by the same 5 old characters that we've had for years, and many other characters just outright removed from the continueity especially since, those 5 old characters dont really have much proper characterisation, we know rather little about them so i can see it be rather insulting if your new fav gets called "purely a parrellel" to a barely existing char, or "actually this other char but as a robot" when we know so little about how that other char actually acts from an emotional standpoint i do understand if people get angry at that, whether or not the evidence supports it (i mean, some people were already mad that AR vannessa was SB vannessa, and that was rather obvious from the start, not nearly as obsecure or theoretical as the robot stuff)
Possibly yeah. It doesn't bother me because this would be the characterization they didn't get before, and we do have new characters even if a couple are previous ones (most of the Pizzaplex animatronics, Tape Girl, beta-tester Vanny, maybe Cassie and her dad, Luis, most of the AR characters, a lot of people behind the scenes like whoever is running Fazbear).
So I do understand when people don't want the characters they got attached to to just be previous characters, but technically this has been something going on since the first game where Mike Schmidt is Fritz Smith is Michael Afton. People used to consider a lot of these people different characters, only to later find they were the same, and I don't see it as a bad thing, but a way to further add and connect to the story and characters that came before. Like, even if Gregory is a robot possessed by the Crying Child, there was still an original Gregory (as implied by the therapists), and the one we currently have is just a way to add more to CC's character than "kid who cries a lot", you know?
In any case, I get why people might be upset with the idea, but what particularly bothers me is when people say it doesn't make sense and is completely impossible.
