I was tagged by @vakarians-babe (hi O:) & @greypetrel 💛✨ thank you so much!!!
I'm working on um, different things I can't show here (or yet lol), so I'll just present you with the things I'm carrying forward at the moment, among the moltitude of wips I'll finish after the armageddon, probably :'D
Hopefully I'll finish Ankhie's outfits before the next artfight ;; send help
So! Here we have:
A back! Which I'm trying to render correctly (along with the rest). I was looking through my old notes of Anatomia Artistica 2, but everything looked very off because that sketchbook has um, almost 15 years of existence lol so I had to make new studies from scratch. tl;dr: it's taking me a while. From the skintone alone, you know who the subject is :' also it's the base I'm using for her new outfits so you already saw the front
A stranger! O: you'll get a small post before the weekend 👀
Two familiar idiots <3 I'm trying to finalize it but I went for another approach on some sections and I think at this point this picture can be used under the definition of self-sabotage hahah <3
Cassandra being all cute and fancy <33 I'm not super sure on that palette, maybe I'll ditch the greens (argh)
I'm tagging (no pressure, no obligation <3): @daggerbean @shivunin @underneathestars @alienturnipp @magspy & @herearedragons
#wip wednesday#but it's a thursday!#hopefully tags work??#that illustration is my inner saboteur#listen at least it's a cullavellan pic and not a voice in my head called roger#I need anons sending me reminders like#'how's roger' referring to that specific pic because I'm dragging it around since the beginning of the paleozoic era#like you know#amphioxus#dinosaurs people always forget about amphioxus

5D Balance, Laws of Balance, Multi-D Justice - God is, Truth is,
My work, my illustrations, my offering, my channels are of the divine preparation that I have done, been, moving through in all timelines and it is of my property for the means and purpose of human evolution - it will not work, nor bring abundance to anyone that misuses and abuses, and take, steals, copies = all is coded and those not aligned will inevitably fall into their own trap - I am the secret of all making of my work - that is called unique copyright - and what each mean and how to move beyond and thread from -
If you do not believe karma - what does your life look like? Life is constantly showing you the vibrational emotions, emitting you are;

Saboteurs will be their own sabotage - it is just the way our world, new templates, energy works; how do I know .......I am speaking and seeing what your higher selves are planning for you with Source, God, your teams; for it is time to come into alignment and all have been given years to adjust and re-align to benevolence - do you not think that God, AAMichael is not 1000 steps ahead of a 3D person stuck in ego and trickery - do you see the logic of it all?
Eternal all-ness is such; it is bendable light and not stagnant darkness - of which we have offered and now being shown, proven, be it Trump court cases, and what we gave honour, value, power to, and what is truth and pure in its beauty - what is 5D beauty - it is pure truth and alignment of sense of self, inner knowing -
Honouring of who you truly are - the ever escalating being-ness of your soul - expression, healing, interpreters of new information and new codes, and light, the integration and processing of new light; our systems within systems -

Hi Jenn!
I (author-illustrator) am meeting with my editor in NYC soon and I have a picturebook bio idea to show her. I was originally planning on querying her via email as per usual, but since we are meeting in person, I get to pitch it in real-time. I have a little paper dummy to show her (the story is somewhat polished and there are sketches/one finished spread) and some printed images of the subject that I’ve researched. Any pointers about presenting an idea in person like this? I know my editor well, we’ve worked on 2 picturebooks together, so I’m not exactly nervous, but I want to make sure I’m giving this book the best chance possible. Also, side note of gratitude, I’m just super excited to meet with my editor in NYC?? Twenty-something me would be floored. Thanks!
That IS super exciting and FUN! Enjoy every minute of it!
There's no need to be nervous. You will probably have lunch or coffee or something, you'll have loads to talk about, just enjoy and see where the conversation takes you. At some point, either she will say, "so what's this project you are working on?" or you will say, "oh! I wanted to tell you about the project I am working on!" -- and then you just, yanno, talk about it!
By all means figure out how to say what it is about in a succinct sentence or two, if you don't already know, but there is no need to rehearse or anything -- just be upbeat* and casual, and your enthusiasm will shine through, I'm sure. If it seems to you like this will be a great follow-up to [previous book] for a reason, say so! If, on the other hand, it is a departure from what you've done before, like an exciting new style or type of book for you or something, be hype about it! If the person it's about has a big anniversary coming up in two years, or is otherwise "in the zeitgeist" for some reason, mention it! Basically -- talk briefly about what this book is and why it is important / interesting / meaningful to you, etc. Dig out the dummy and artwork and show her, though also offer to email the material to her after if she'd like.
(Just because maybe, I don't know, she has her hands full or you're both in the midst of a messy dessert or you want the dummy back and you don't want to put her on the spot to have to read and analyze something in this exact moment, etc -- basically it will be a lot easier for her to read at her leisure and have a coherent response if she's NOT trying to wipe chocolate off her chin with you staring at her expectantly!)
*(What do I mean by "upbeat"? I mean DO NOT say anything like "well I know it's a little rough" or "this is not one of my better ideas" or "I know nobody has heard of this person" or anything self-deprecating like that -- this is not the time for your inner saboteur to take the mic!)

fic graphics i made this year! ✨
orphan’s club | for my very first fic ever in my whole entire life! i think i wrote like 2? pieces of fiction before this point and one took place in a 7-11 and the other was about baked alaskas. okay i’m JUST connecting that to me doing diner fic for my first go. okay werk... i’m also really sad i lost the illustrator file to this bc i wanted to go back and color in my cookies. oi and i remember i originally wanted to doodle a different piece for each SECTION of the fic lmao the hubris!! but. looking at this, it really does have the most special place in my heart (’:
valyrian steel play | i’m obsessed with the catspaw dagger design so it makes up the two horns here! this one was quick work bc i already had the dagger done for a suuuper cursed illustration that i will never try showing anyone ever again (but i love it for ME). i really wanted these b&w headers to be a thing across my fics but for the life of me to this day, TO THIS DAY, i can NOT get my images on AO3 to center!! even if i use work skins!! america, explain???
blame it on the goose | oh what a sweet 2am it was putting this together realizing that geese are white like horses are white. listen. i fell so hard in love with this stoopit goose without ever playing its game. couldn’t even bear adding blood splatter to it. when the goose pic was missing a foot and part of its wing, i patched it out of love. it also has its own shadow on the rubble and i’m v proud of it even though it’s the easiest button to press on photoshop lmao
bonus in-game style! this is a collage! to-do list screencapped from here. arya and gendry are LUCKILY from a stock image!! otherwise i really was going to spend time vectorizing these little fucks even though i’ve only ever vectored objects. all i did was remove eyes, blacken gendry’s hair, and add head wound to arya. goose had me tooo committed to the visual. ps this sack of birb literally just goes around terrorizing towns and collecting golden bells from towers and you cannot tell me that that’s not king’s landing!! the one thrones crossover that's just meant to be.
storm uncles | oh gosh look away. this is the only place i’m going to share this one lol. truthfully making this gave me nothing but pure joy!! i used to stare at the image of the bg waves as i wrote and it would soothe me (’: this is still my first attempt at a multichap and i’m kinda back to believing i will finish it? i write dropped hard after the second chap and realized the orphan button is really good ux for inner saboteurs. but! i’m patient with the work it takes to unlearn self-doubt, embrace buckwilidism, and find solace in it’s not that serious. + i got two three?! really kind comments recently that multiplied the hope cells in my body. shoutsouts laura, anniephl, and risscat on ao3. ( : fun fact: after i finished writing renly for the first time, i read olenna’s first appearance in asos and a ton of her verbiage was down in my renly. the validation doth flowed even if they are not the same person but. the tyrellian adjacent extravagance and the baratheon petty is why i love my boy.
the muscle | this one came together pretty quickly and seamlessly and it’s now my favorite thing! the bg, band pic, wolf, and polaroid frame are all from stock. everything else is from like an online store’s product page lmao. watermark lines are still on the tickets but idgaf!! i also love owning a tablet just so i can use it for “lettering” that looks like this lol
cute lil ticket closeup! cassette bg is stock and the yellowy layer is actually a postcard texture that i accidentally pasted and ended up liking bc it kinda looks like there’s a dirty glass case! i wish i took out the border on the left but it’s too late lmao
looking at this “progression” truly makes me so happy. i am an otter floating on its back hugging my five little shells like ah, yes, i will have the contentment and the buoyancy too. i love that fandom can be a space to just do what the fuck ever. it’s so freeing and jush-inducing to make things for fun again. next year i wanna experiment more with collages, maybe even doodle my first human body, and hopefully make things for others. just wanna get a little wonky, a little abstract, and a lot lot silly
to more creative nonsense in 2020! 🎉

Sonata #5
Sonata #5 Image Comics 2019 Story by David Hine & Brian Haberlin Illustrated by Brian Haberlin Coloured by Geirrod Van Dyke Lettered by Francis Takenaga “THE ART OF HEALING” Sonata is dangerously ill, and her survival is in the hands of the deranged Korbys and his dubious expertise in herbal remedies. Meanwhile, an unexpected visitor brings catastrophic news from the Tayan home world. I love this series and in such a way that when it breaks all the rules that I go by when deciding what to read I have not one single problem with that. The way that this is being told is damn near flawless and I love the opening as we see Sona seeing her mother I the midst of the delirium and that in and of itself is some highly powerful stuff. Just the fact that the boys are able to weave this into her current state and actually use her subconscious to get her to rally past the sickness and to give that inner strength back is sensationally well done. The story & plot development that we are seeing here and how the release of information is provided keeps us in a state of intrigue. The character development is simply astonishingly well done and the conversation between Treen and Pau is the best example that I could possibly think of. I mean that alone is some damn fine characterisation and it comes in a moment of curiosity and understanding that is both genuine and bold. When we add the pacing into how we see the story unfold we get these twists and turns that are unexpected and yet should be and some revelations that make you want to applaud the behaviour of our intrepid adventurers. Korbys may be deranged but by all the suns and moons that man is one of the best character creations. He has that charm and charisma that only a truly mad genius type can pull off and the simpleton way he acts versus the knowledge he's amassed make him one of the most indispensable characters that Sona and Pau are going to come to know. Circumstances being what they are and the saboteurs having done their job making everyone think that the indigenous peoples are behind the damage to the dam well I'm super intrigued to see where that is going to go next. The way this book has so many layers to it and how it all moves forward without intersecting, yet, is really smartly done. The sheer amount of blank backgrounds instead of giving us a chance to see this alien landscape should be something I am adamantly against and yet I am not. Don't get me wrong BRIAN we should see them and you are more than capable, but BUT with as the story is I am more accepting of it. The linework is beautiful and how he manages to utilise the varying weights to bring out this extraordinary attention to detail is astounding. I mean seriously wow between Korbys and Treen forget about it that extra layer of characterisation is amazing. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show an amazing eye for storytelling. The colour work is gorgeous and the way that we see the gradation and bleeding and even the fuzzy out of focus work so that we get the depth perception is well achieved here. I am blown away by what we see here, except the blank spaces. That these two races are basically one and the same, I mean they diverge from one ancestor that is clearly evident, and it is how they were raised that sets them apart. One warlike and aggressive and the other peaceful and inquisitive they are the yin and the yang and it's a shame that they hate each other so much that they will destroy what's left of their people fighting one another. That of course is all supposition but it makes sense in my brain where I am thoroughly engaged by the story that I continue it on my own. Such an amazingly well written and illustrated book that is a wow factor from start to finish.

Professional Practice as an Illustrator: A Summary
Well gang this concludes my module blog, it certainly has been an eventful semester ad I’ve learned a lot especially about myself and my own journey. This module has been a bit of a rollercoaster, it’s not the kind of thing I’d normally enjoy, but it’s surprised me and allowed me to gain a lot of introspection on where I stand as an illustrator and where my future will lead to. I decided that I want to start off broadening my audience for my career and documenting my studies and my art on youtube. Here’s a link to it! I’ve also decided not to take my online presence too seriously, as much as yes it needs to come across professionally, do I want to present myself as boring, or old fashioned? Not at all. I want to have fun with it because I’ve found if I have fun with my illustration then it will be more successful. Moving forward with my career I’m going to start a collective with my peers: The Bad Baby Klub. This summer we’re going to work as hard as we can to push forward independence and badass illustrations, together we want to create t-shirt designs and prints with a subliminal feminist message, sounds SOOOO original but trust me, there’s nothing normal about me and Ellie’s illustrations! We want to promote the power that small independent illustrators can have, and to all you new illustrators starting out or young students finding a place in this world; there is a place for you! I know it feels overcrowded online and it feels like shouting at a brick wall trying to get heard and seen, but if you struggle to find your space as a new illustrator, MAKE YOUR OWN SPACE! In your own space you can be as loud as you want and create as you please, just go for it. The only thing holding you back is your own inner saboteur.
I have been heavily inspired by a student who actually took this module last year, Emma AKA thethirstyartist! By chance she ended up being my flatmate this year and a huge help, she told me how she did her blog in the form of a vlog on youtube which is what started me off wanting to document my professional practice online! Because of illness and bereavement in the family it did get put on hold, but you haven’t seen the last of me yet! This module certainly did give us all a reality check of being an illustrator, giving us a perspective on how life really is working in the creative field, but in other times it really did comfort us, reassuring us that in a modern digital mass produced world there is an increasing yearning for small independent businesses and artists.
