i understand that the modern day segments are the thing that binds the assassin’s creed games together and that they’re essential to the story. but consider. they suck dick and balls.

#the most interesting it gets is with shbject 16’s conspiracy board and like that *is* interesting. but it’s also like. not ever commented on #in ac2 actively. and a lot of the actual conspiracy bits seem kind of like throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks?#this is not unsalvageable okay but the fact that it’s 1) by necessity the periphery of the actual interesting game we want to play and 2)#full of the blandest fucking guys imaginable not doing anything ever is like. why are we doing this.#the *concept*. of a centuries old conspiracy battle between the assassins and templars? fascinating! endless potential for how that’s gone!#the execution? a bit shite ain’t it.#the game’s strongest connective tissue is in the codexes and the tombs. like *that’s* interesting!#the way that we’re already in a historical setting but ezio himself is uncovering what’s history to him! these figures who are basically #myths! but they were real! and then that leaves a room to go well. if they were real. like ezio is.#then when ezio dies and becomes history he will be a myth too. but we *know* him!! we could know them!! it’s in knowing him that the tragedy #of history is cemented. that he is already a myth even as we play through his story.#but like these are not themes i think the game has picked up on existing or gives a shit about so. fuck it i guess.#this story happened a long time ago in a country far far away. you can’t save ezio’s family. because he never did.#but you can avenge them. only. you know his quest for vengeance for justice. however it might have tipped the scales to a better world for #a time? it didn’t change things forever. the war outlived him. it outlived his ancestors.#you know?

followed by "to" then "a" then "he" then "his" lmao

but setting aside those uninteresting ones, i have "ichiro" at 394 occurrences and several entries further down the list "samatoki" at 231 occurrences

probably... not very surprising there either lol. jyuto isn't too far down either, and the word after him is kind of a spoiler so i shan't say it uwu

and now i will. um. hopefully actually work on [redacted] au because i really! really would love to get this out one day not too far in the future!!

This post has at least 3 threads on it that I've enjoyed and the most recent one going around is a great bit of meta work (special mention to @bromelads 🎉), but since apparently it's now generating Izzy drama (lol naturally) I want to pull a piece from one of my earlier threads that I think sums up my stance succinctly:

Izzy did not support Edward in running away to start a circus OR support Edward emotionally while shuffling the circus off the table because he's Izzy and also having a breakdown, but people will genuinely act like the first one is the greater and perhaps unforgivable crime and it's insane.

#our flag means death #of course i cannot *see* any of the izzy drama because the block wall holds lol #but historically the idea that actually yeah izzy was justified in objecting to the 'new direction' has not gone over well 🤣#was he unnecessarily cruel? did he get mad halfway in and turn it into yelling insults? yes and yes (and you can point to the trigger)#but that is not actually intrinsically tied to whether or not edward was healing / acting healthy / proposing a good life direction #blackbeard ofmd #izzy hands ofmd #ofmd 1x10 #ofmd meta #ladyluscinia

#replies #I'm rethinking a lot of stuff this year based on the relatively new info that i'm not going to one day switch personalities #groundbreaking. shocking even #i had assumed one day my social challenges and the whole way the world is would simply go away but after 27 years #i'm forced to admit one cannot simply reframe repress recant one's way out of personal characteristics #shame. it was worth a try #now i'm faced with the dilemma that i need to find a job where i work in a cave alone or suffer the health consequences #a problem i'm not sure grad school would fix at all #maybe before i experienced the horrors i could have held a more collaborative position but it has historically not gone well to plan based #on past or future versions of myself

Working on a model of the actual historical building next to his shop before I do anything with the second story, because I need to determine where the prole woman lives. I’m leaning towards behind the shop, but I’d like to just have a layout of the street first.

#You can’t tell what it is yet… I’m going to build it as it looks in real life and then make it look blown up #And this particular building will be super interesting in this context from a historical POV #Because it technically should not be in England… but 1984 is an alternate universe #and its being in England when it shouldn’t be implies a very juicy fictional history with a certain real figure #Which I can then proceed to imply in Winston’s records work and the interior design of Minitru #So this building being in England half-demolished becomes a symbol of how the past is dead and gone #[vibrates excitedly]#It doesn’t make sense to you but it does to me AHAHAHAHAHAHA #I LOVE WORLDBUILDING #And the building has some piece of art attached to it #This feature being in ruins represents “god is dead; there is no one to save you” as well as the death of heritage #Holy shit I’m losing my mind (in a good way!)#Oh my god. The history buffs are gonna love this
