I"m well aware why Hojo's hated in the FF7 fandom, like I GET IT OKAY?? And I can understand when people make fanfics or works about him getting killed in awful ways.

But it really annoys me when they have this OOC depiction of what he does?? Like does that make sense?? No, Hojo doesn't bring pain to your characters just to bring pain. He brings pain in the name of SCIENCE. I thought this was obvious???

What he does isn't to spite your fav but to learn and understand the world through science. He lives for himself and science. His willing to throw his emotions and emphathy for science. Whoever gets hit gets hit.

And thats the whole reason we even got Sephiroth and SOLDIER. And why Hojo didn't straight up kill Zack and Cloud but instead experimented on them?? Again for science. Or maybe for Sephiroth
