I guess if I have to pick three most harrowing moments from mouthwashing, it would be the obviously Anya breaks down in the cockpit scene, Swansea reveals he cherished his time spent with Daisuke before mercy killing him, and somehow Jimmy immediately blames Curly and saying how much of a horrible and selfish person he is when he breaks the layoff news to the crew — despite it is something that Curly himself has no control of. Jimmy also uses the struggles of the other crew members just to attack Curly despite never actually caring about these struggles AT ALL.

Something about Jimmy’s action there deeply disturbs me moreso than his subsequent actions but I suppose that’s how you run a character defining moment, because by later point, that bit he throws at Curly already gives context to his strings of horrible behavior

Can you talk about trans!Curly a little bit more? I'm curios if you have any headcanons and the like

It's just such a thing in my mind because it adds a truthful sadness and differing aspect to mouthwashing.

If Curly was trans it adds the horror of the horribly selfish thought he could have easily been in Anya's situation. It could've been him but it wasn't and he so conflicted on the pit it put in his stomach that brings and the shameful relief it wasn't. In this scenario he is friends with Jimmy for a long time still. Jimmy likely knew him pretransition. Maybe he gave Curly weird looks then, maybe they never stopped after, maybe they seemed meaner. They are guys now, bros, both of them are. He doesn't really have to worry what those looks mean anymore, Jimmy just has that face with him sometimes. It's recontextualizing a lot of things for him that he was in denial about or too ashamed to admit. How naive he was being and how he let that get another person hurt.

Specifically with Anya, it's he knows the dread and fear she's feeling. He can understand it because he had to live with it for a good portion of his life, he knows it cause he still does, just in a slightly different way. It makes him think of all the times he's been alone with Jimmy, all the times he's been way more drunk off his ass and not remember the night, Jimmy was always with him the next day. Makes him think of the comments he would laugh off both because that's what guys do but because that part of being a girl says to laugh so Jimmy doesn't do something. It's the selfish realization that he was never safe and he's uncertain now too. Mad at himself for forgeting that feeling, espcially since for a long time he would've been considered the only woman on a crew (with all that implies) for a long time.

He should've taken those blinders off, step back into that position for just a moment and it's so much more painful that Anya likely came to him because he should've gotten it. Those thoughts don't leave his mind after the crash when he's in an even more vulnerable position than she was...

and this is a post about my personal feelings regarding this line, im in no position to say how this line should be understood

but in S4E25 (yeah when will i shut up about it) when hawks reminisces about what it is that gets to him about endeavor and actually addresses endeavor in his thoughts, this bit:

"You see, I've been watching, so I know. There wasn't a single person out there truly trying to surpass [All Might]. You were the only one. The only one seriously trying to surpass him. .... Really... Just how clumsy/awkward can you be?"

That last bit.

I've been watching/ reading out of order, but although until then, everything felt to me like it could be interpreted as hawks looking up to endeavor, being endebted to him for saving him from his abusive father, or generally respecting him, this line alone punched me in the gut with the idea that oof ok, he also loves him uh.

there's the tone in which it's delivered that is unbelievable soft and with a touch of helplessness, combined with this mental shot of endeavor looking positively like a loser (i'm sorry):

and then 本当に...どんだけ不器用なんですか...?

out of all words to describe him, in this situation, not brave, not amazing, not something to look up to, not something to learn from even or to admire, no "just how clumsy/awkward can you be?"

if it was just the hero mentality, why 不器用 of all things? isn't this the no.1 he's choosing to support and is currently in the process of pushing onto the centre stage? couldn't "stubborn" have done the job? this goes deeper than the hero gig or what it means, this touches on something about endeavor as a person in a way that is none of hawks' business in theory if not for the fact that he's noticed and it is doing him in

Andrew Minyard puts on his black combat boots and black armbands. He wears his black hoodie because Andrew is not like other boys. His newest teammate Neil Josten has an aura of danger that Andrew knows he is better off not getting close. But Andrew cannot help it. He is like a moth drawn to a flame. Neil’s untamed auburn hair that is never styled yet it is messy in an effortless way and his big blue orbs that must have a lot of hidden secrets. Andrew knows he should not play with fire but with that toned body Andrew minyard can not stay away.

Whatever, not like Neil josten would notice him anyways. He is the outcast in his teams and no one likes him. Neil josten would not care about him.

Imagine Andrew’s surprise when Neil josten joins him on the roof and shares his secrets. Andrew is right, Neil has a very dark past that is even darker than Andrew’s. Neil is involved in the mafia! But because Andrew is not like other boys he does not care and promise to protect Neil even though Andrew probably cannot do anything if anything happens. Neil probably has to be the one to save Andrew.

Neil also turns out to be loaded and he buys Andrew a car when his was destroyed and Andrew cannot say no to a Maserati.

Everyone else on the team is so shock when super attractive good looking Neil josten will choose to be with someone like Andrew minyard but Neil does not care and growls at anyone that says anything bad about Andrew.

replaying dao for the first time in 15 yrs and got the sten dialogue where tal-vashoth are referenced for the first time ever in dragon age and

I 100% interpreted this as the tal-vashoth were killing qunari the first time round, which makes sense because it's cryptic and comes after sten describing tal-vashoth as monsters that require killing.

but knowing more qunari lore now I get that this isn't him describing mysterious killings of qunari by tal-vashoth, this is sten describing people leaving the qun and becoming tal-vashoth.

the tal-vashoth take away his colleagues and friends because they are spreading doubt of the qun and causing others to leave as well, and sten is so indoctrinated that to him this is monstrous, and that's how he describes it to the warden but that is not what is happening at all

I've been picking mostly only the essential flirt options with lucanis in the romance so far (I've personally found the dynamic much more natural and mutual when you do that, more like forming a solid friendship slowly and inevitably becoming something else and less like you keep pushing on him and getting little back b/c he seemingly just gets overwhelmed and goes into freeze instead), and I think rye is a pretty hard person to read at the best of times even though he's been Down Real Bad from pretty early on and their chemistry as people is naturally really good. so the way the almost-kiss plays out in this playthrough feels a lot like it has the added layer of lucanis realizing that no but for sure rook is flirting and not just being kind or a good friend* it IS actually happening it's not just wishful/fearful thinking!!! and then uh. maybe going a bit too hard a bit too fast in all the excitement at that revelation haha

*in lucanis' defense he has seemingly literally never had a friend who wasn't his cousin-brother before, under those circumstances I suppose some confusion is extremely natural if not outright expected lmao
