Hello there!! Can I request some headcanons / mini-scenarios for: Dan Heng, March, Welt, Himeko, Yanqing and Jing Yuan; with a normally soft-spoken Reader who has a wide vocal range (from contralto to hitting those high notes) and occasionally does song covers? Doesn't matter the genre, so long as Reader likes it.
So they might hear Reader singing something like a lullaby or a traditional Xianzhou song one day, to something that's still soft and sweet like a mainstream pop song on another day; to belting out something like "Kakusei" or "NEXUS" from the Promare OST. :D
★ A/N: I understood the request, I just hope I wrote it in a way you wanted! People with such a large vocal range are so talented istg, they gotta teach me. (I say as if I have ANY confidence to sing anyways)
☆ Genre/Trope: Platonic
★ Format: Bullet Pointed Head Cannons (And small scenario at the end :>)
☆ Warnings: None
★ Extra: Reader is a Nameless // Readers age is undisclosed so imagine them at whatever age you wish // Reader can play instruments! // Characters might be OOC I feel // Proof Read but I did it when it was 4am lmao
When you sing more soft songs, Dan Heng tends to enjoy listening. It helps him feel more relax and sometimes rids his mind of nightmares.
He's more used to hearing that kind of voice from you. So when one day, he walks in on you singing a song that's the exact opposite of how you usually sing, he's a bit surprised.
He never doubted you could have a big vocal range, however hearing you sing a song that's different to how he normally hears you sing is what surprised him.
He still enjoys listening, but more so when you sing in a softer voice, don't get him wrong. He still enjoys your singing voice and will support you. But he isn't one for a more loud song.
"[Name]...if you're going to sing more...on the loud side, could I request you do it else where?" Dan Heng sighs softly, being awoken up once again due to you. Despite his words hinting at annoyance, his facial expression was soft and kind. A soft sorry came from your voice as you quickly turned off the music you were using, switching to a more softer song. An old Xianzhou lullaby. "Here, I'll make it up to you. Sit on the couch and I'll sing a softer song" You smiled, Dan Heng chuckled as he obliged. He can't deny that your more softer voice doesn't help him fall asleep. He silently hums along to your voice, and in a sleepy voice he speaks to you before drifting to bed. "If you enjoy music like that so much, we can pay a visit to Serval okay?"
March 7th LOVES your singing voice. She would sing along to whatever song you were singing. She praises you every time she hears you and likely took photos of you singing.
She so supports you if you ever make a YouTube (StarTube?) account and posted covers, literally your number 1 fan.
When you post a cover of a song, she's always the first one to like, comment and listen!
When you post a cover of a song that's VERY different. (Let's say, Usseewa) and you hit ALL those high notes and, everything omg. She was surprised but immediately hyped you up.
She doesn't mind if you sing songs like that at all, your singing is amazing. Like I said, number 1 fan...she doesn't hid it either.
"I love you [Name]!" "Uh, the one with the blue camera and pink hair?" "OH. MY GOD. [NAME] YOU NOTICED ME, YOU NOTICED ME. I.LOVE.YOU" Serval laughed out loud seeing Marchs outburst, as if you two don't live with each other. You could only look away with a small smile, seeing March jump up and down and shaking whoever was beside her. Much to Welts "delight"
Welts very impressed with your vocal range. But he's also worried, he knows that if you were able too have a large vocal range, you likely know how to manage it.
Still, anytime he hears you singing songs like NEXUS or Kakusei he can't help but slide over a bottle of water for your throat.
If you ever join a concert with Serval then he IS buying tickets, though not everyone may go (Dan Heng) he and the rest of the Express will.
He also tends to buy any merch you may come out with if there is any. (Mainly for March but he does keep one or two for himself to support you)
He doesn't really have a preference when it comes too what songs you sing, just as long as your happy and it isn't really disturbing anyone.
If you ever start a StarTube channel, he might animate a few of your covers! Under a pen name though, he's not embarrassed, but I think he'd like it if you thought it was a different fan and not just him who's already liked your singing from the start. (If that makes sense)
"WELT! Weltweltwelt" You ran up to him, quickly showing him an animation someone did of one of your new songs. "ArahatosNumber1Fan animated one of my covers again" You said excitedly, bringing the phone screen back to your view as you scrolled through the comments. Many complimenting the animation but many also asking who sang the cover to which they were directed to your account. "This the guy that you said was helping boost your channel subs?" You nod happily, tapping your chin you thought for a bit. "Do you think they'd still animate my covers even if I sing a different genre? I want to go with something softer this time instead of a louder peice" "I'm sure they'll animate any song you wish to sing" He chuckles. And sure enough, a week after you posted a cover of Lost Umbrella, ArahatosNumber1Fan posted an animation to go along with it.
Himeko compliments you a lot for your vocal range. In fact, she got you a karaoke machine for your birthday! Of course, though. She doesn't let you use it during night time. She doesn't want to wake up because you decided to start singing Churira Churira Dadada at 3 in the morning.
I do think she prefers you to sing outside the train. While she does enjoying your singing and she has no problem if you were to sing in the train. However she also understands it may disturb many people so she does ask for you to sing in an area where you aren't disturbing anyone.
I feel like she also asks you to teach her how to sing or have a wider vocal range. She enjoys singing herself and would love to join in when you're out singing to keep you company!
Perhaps you two can make money by singing on the streets :> (Only if you're okay with it though!)
You strummed you guitar as the two of you reached the last note, Himeko took a small bow and looked up at the audience that had gathered around. All of them clapping and complimenting your voice. She laughed softly and gently packed up your things so the two of you could get going, checking to see if you were uncomfortable with the attention before she directs you back to the train. As you two entered, Himeko was quick to sit and count the amount of credits that were left in your guitar case, looking up to you she said with a smile. "A success, well done. They loved you" "It wasn't just me singing..." "Perhaps but...I'd say they have their favourites"
When Yanqing overhears you singing Xianzhou lullabys, he's quick to shower you with compliments. Your voice is so soothing! He could listen it for so long and it's effective too. You had to usher him out as he could wake the kids you just put to bed.
When he hears you singing a song like (man I'm running out of songs I know/hj) Noels Lament. He's impressed, how can you sing a song so softly and quietly and then sing something like this which needs a stronger voice??
He might skip a few of his training to find you and see what song you're singing, he makes it a guessing game! Will you be singing something so sweet and kind? Or something that might will make head turn??
"...Yanqing?" "Ha! I guessed right this time" "...Guessed...right?" Ah, you weren't meant to know the guessing game he had in his own head, quickly, he shuffled away. Scratching the back of his head. "Of where you were!" "I always walk in this area" "...I meant...what outfit you'd be wearing?" "I usually wear similar clothes?" ...Yeah, he's running off quickly, hopefully Jing Yuan won't scold him for skipping his training again right? Surely the general can understand he just has to see if his guess was right or not.
Surprisingly (or not surprisingly) Jing Yuan enjoys when you sing your heart out with songs like Candy Store or Mount Rageous. That's the type of sing he first heard you sing when he tried to find Yanqing when he skipped yet another training sessions.
Usually he would just sleep till Yanqing returned or just go on with his day if he never did. In either case, now he joins Yanqing to see what song you're singing before returning back to train.
When he hears you singing a less upbeat song like Sweet Dreams. He's slightly surprised but listens intently, it's different to what he often hears you sing but he enjoys it none the less, he sees your happy so he's fine.
He might even request to hear certain songs just to see how well you voice range can handle it. From the loudest song that could break glass, to a soothing song that can put even the mara struck to bed. And if you successfully sing them all, he congratulates you.
Overall, he's impressed as well as many others, likely talks to you and how well you sing to his friends.
You panted a bit as you finished a particularly long high note, Jing Yuan chuckles and slides over a cup of water which you accept quickly. Taking a drink to sooth your throat. "You voice really can do wonders, I'm more then impressed" He speaks, you nodded in response as he then offers a small treat for agreeing to sing a song for him. A song that made you go from high to low, soft to loud and all in all, tested how wide your voice range can be in a singular song. "I must apologies, I just wished to see how far your voice can go. I should've considered how tired your throat must be from singing that particular song" "No worries, it was fun to read and practice that song. I'm a bit surprised you know it though" "Oh? Are you now?" "Yeah...I mean...the song was released like a month ago and you're kinda a grandp-" "Alright I get it" He chuckled lightly, gently flicking your forehead.
I'm so smart writing Yanqings and JY sleep deprived right?/j Yeah uh they might be OOC, hopefully not thoughejfpgt.

REQUEST: for a hamzah fic, maybe like headcanons for hamzah x youtuber!reader ?? love ur work btw 💖💖
hamzah x youtuber!reader headcanons 🎀
warnings: none :)
note: the drought is over guys!! i hope these are what you were thinking, i’ve never really written headcanons before!
- hamzah is the most supportive boyfriend ever
- he’s super excited when your channel starts to take off, and doesn’t let you downplay your accomplishments
- he takes you out to dinner when you hit 100k even though you swear it’s no big deal
- when you film, you make him leave the room, because otherwise you’ll see him and laugh
- when you’re done filming, he’ll make a huge deal
- “come sit with me, you’ve been at that forever…” he complains, grabbing your waist from behind and kissing your neck
- whenever you have events to attend, you always beg him to come with, even though you guys aren’t technically hard-launched to your audience yet
- some nights you fall asleep editing, and he carries you to your bed, despite your protesting that you’ve gotta stay up to finish it
- when you’re stressed about posting on time and content being good, he rubs your back and kisses you softly
- one day he mentions in passing how it’d be fun to have you on the channel, and you’re so excited you kiss him all over, having waited for him to ask
- he’s nervous about having you on his channel or vice versa, because he wants everyone to know how much he loves you, and is scared of any other opinion getting out there
- when you do finally collab with slushy noobz, he can’t keep his hands off of you. martin repeat makes jokes about how gross you two are
- his hands are always at your thighs or intertwined with yours
- when he appears on your channel, he’s super blushy the whole time and super nervous
- he later reads the comments out loud to you while you get dressed the next morning
- “‘how did hamzah pull that?’” he reads, “like what the hell? i mean, they’re right. i still have no idea.” he laughs softly, shaking his head
- speaking of blush, he eventually lets you do his makeup for a video, and you almost don’t post it because of just how touchy you get
- you have to edit out nearly half because of how disgustingly in love you look, holding his face and smiling, sometimes leaving little kisses all over
- when you get hate, he gets super pissy. he talks about it on the podcast at some point
- “ dude, i never understood like, you know, really defensive guys until i started dated y/n. every time she gets like, even a little hate- i wanna like, find whoever left the comment and punch them in the face. it makes me so mad.”
- “that’s messed up hamzah. don’t put that out there.” you tell him, as you strangle his hips that night. you’re smiling though, and you lean down to kiss him. “i appreciate it though, baby.”
-
i hope you guys enjoyed >.< requests are open

something related to marriage with Leon Goretzka?
I hope you like it! <3 (Not me watching his videos on YouTube to become familiar with his voice.) As always, any comment about my writing is welcome!
Please take into account that English is not my first language.
warnings: none, I think Leon Goretzka x fem!reader There's a small suprise at the end
Happy Birthday, Love!
You let out a relieved sigh once you walked into your new home. After a long day at work, where you were surprised by your co-workers and a celebration night planned by your husband, you felt like you could sleep in the middle of the hall.
You took off your heels and left your purse in the floor. Leon hated disorder, but taking into account how asleep you were, you couldn't care less. He came right behind you and took the purse to put it into the table.
You carried your dead legs to the sofa and planned on sleeping there. Your husband came from the kitchen with a big glass of water for you.
"It seems that you enjoyed the night" He gave you one of his beautiful smiles
"Dear, I enjoyed it but I'm dead" You let out a huff while he looked at you lovingly
"As long as you enjoyed, that's enough for me" He said "Now please, sit down so you can drink your water and we can go to bed" He helped you to sit down properly. You looked at him with an honest smile on your face as you loved how much he loved you and cared about you, sometimes it felt like you did not deserve him
"Now you tell me," you began to talk slowly "how could you plan all of this? I mean, how long did it take you and how hard it was. There was everyone, literally, from my close friends to my family from back home, some of my past university mates and even your football friends"
"Let's say that... when I love someone," He began to speak while gave you your glass "I try the impossible to make them as much happy as I can" You drank your glass slowly and nodded to his words. You really did not deserve him. "Did you like your gift?"
"Ugh, Leon!" You said annoyed of how much love he could show you "you know I do, everything you do for me is just - you're just perfect, the perfect husband, alright? And sometimes I hate you for that because I cannot be as good as you are" You put the glass on the table while you looked at his eyes.
"Listen," Leon began "you're incredibly amazing, and I need you to know that. You are there for me, you try your best to take care of me, especially when I'm ill and you laugh at my bad jokes. I love how sweet you are to everyone and funny, how you try to cheer for me while being a Dortmund fan, how you make me watch your series and how happy you sound when you read out loud some of your books before going to sleep. Hell! I even love your disorder sometimes" He was on his knees, before you, with his hands on yours, "I love every single little thing about you, do you understand me?" He kissed your knuckles "and you deserve the world for that" He hugged tight as you tried to contain your tears.
You hugged him as well, in silent, both of you in the middle of the dining room, alone, on the floor. There was too much feelings there, no need to be said - it was enough to feel it.
You separated for him as you kept your hands on his super-defined arms. You gave him a small, shy kiss on his cheek.
"Leon" you took a deep breath, as you ended up letting your tears fall "I have to tell you something" he nodded for you to continue as he wiped your tears with his thumbs "Today is not your birthday" you left a small giggle, "but I have a surprise for you"
"Oh really?" He asked laughing "I wonder what it is"
You leaned into his ear, and whispered "I'm pregnant"
He looked at you amazed, as if he was dreaming, as if his biggest dream just came true. "Really?" He exclaimed without believing yet, and you just let out a small yes. He took you in his arms and lift you up and you squealed. "Oh my God!" He let out the biggest and most sincere laugh ever.
"We're going to be parents" you told him once he finally put you down. You caressed his right cheek with your hand, which he quickly took and kissed.
"You need to rest more, and eat healthier, much healthier" He said now, more serious "actually, I thing you could ask for your maternity leave now and -"
"I'm literally on my third week" you smiled at how he was freaking out more than you when you found out at your work place's bathroom
"No, no, no I think you should I mean..., like - this baby is... and his health-" he was literally starting to talk nonsense as you laughed at him "you know what, I'm calling Toni, he's been a father" He started to look for his jacket to get his phone
"Now?" You asked incredulously, as the clock indicated 02:07 A.M.
"Why not?" He asked as he looked for Toni's phone number. You just stood there, imagining how long that night was going to be.
"Leon, love, we will talk about this tomorrow, alright?" You took the phone from his hands and left it on the table "Now let's go to sleep and rest, please. We will figure out everything and you can ask Toni at a more reasonable hour, yeah?" You couldn't believe that you were the one calming him down "Come on, let's go to sleep"
He took your hand and together went upstairs.
"Don't prepare anything for my birthday, you already gave me the best gift" He told you as he got into the bed, next to you.
"The best one from you is still when you asked me to marry you" You told him sincerely
"Good night, sweetheart" He said, "and goodnight to you too" he whispered to the baby , as he put his hand on your belly.
The End
I hope you like it, I don't know how I wrote this and ended up with a pregnancy but I really hope you enjoyed it!
Love you all!!! <3

loud heart WORD COUNT: 1500 | RATING: T
summary: the orange heart reply was a cultural moment; this is my vision of what might have led up to dan posting it.
a/n: i posted this on AO3 a couple days ago, but had to wait till tumblr verified i wasn't a robot to crosspost here. from now on all my fics will be available in both places!
ALSO ON AO3

Dan knew what the response to We're All Doomed (now uploaded onto Youtube, forever) was going to be, even before he started scrolling through the comments and the tweets. He'd been doing the show long enough. Yet still, knowing it didn't prepare him for it emotionally. The kindness of people was overwhelming; the gratitude even more so.
He flits between social media platforms on his phone, reading the reviews and battling unsuccessfully against the growing lump in his throat, even as a recorded version of his voice says, "Anyone here planning on becoming a polyamorous lesbian grandma?" from the TV. Phil put the special on earlier — very proudly accessing it from the YouTube TV app, which made Dan smile — and they're letting it play in the background as they sit with their respective phones, having seen the show too many times already to totally invest in it again. But it's nice. Comforting.
Raucous cheers erupt from the sea of future polyamorous lesbian grandmas in the audience, and Dan glances up at the TV with a smile. He loves this part. He loved that audience, both nights—and the wider group of people that they represented. "Nice," he says onscreen, which elicits some laughter.
A bright little ding! drags his attention back to his phone.
New tweet from Phil Lester.
It's natural for him to glance over to the man himself, curled up just an arm's length away from him. Phil is fiddling serenely with his phone, but looks up when he feels Dan staring. When Dan raises an eyebrow, Phil only responds with a shrug, smiling.
Dan obediently opens the tweet to see for himself.
every time i see this it makes me laugh and cry at the same time until i'm a shaking mess on the floor. great show thanks danny!!
Phil has quoted Dan's original announcement tweet, so the endorsement sits on top of Dan's name, glowing with pride. A few things happen at once in Dan then. First, there's the impulse to snort at the nickname danny, which is Phil being silly (and succeeding at it, as he always does). Then there's the warmth that suffuses his entire chest from Phil Lester openly expressing his emotions for Dan's sake on a public platform, an occurrence so rare it still shocks (and essentially assaults) Dan whenever it happens. Then, from that warmth, comes the immediate, overwhelming, not so inexplicable urge to sob his lungs out.
"Fuck," he whispers, so quietly it's only a breath, and quickly smothers it in the sleeve of his jumper, turning away from Phil's side of the sofa.
Because it's all so familiar. Because he's been here before—so many times. Reeling from the adrenaline of releasing a project he poured his heart and soul—or at the very least, a lot of his time—into. Anxious about and then overjoyed by the response to it. But no matter what it was, whether Basically I'm Gay, or Why I Quit YouTube, or fuck, even Hello Internet—
Phil has been there.
Phil is always there. Always here—he thinks, looking over at him finally—next to him. In his life. (Hadn't he said that to everyone on the internet before? Hadn't he thought it was so cheesy back then, and yet regretted nothing, because there hadn't been a single lie in what he'd said?) Phil sits in ignorant bliss on the other end of the sofa, tucked up against the armrest, tapping at something on his phone. His hair is turning more ginger by the day. His face has faint lines in it that Dan has seen appear, firsthand and little by little, over the past decade and a half. His emoji pyjama pants are a hate crime on fashion.
He's everything. He's there.
"Dan."
Dan comes back to himself, and he realises Phil is looking at him now, questions displayed openly on his face. Dan can't really read any of them, though—the fucking oceans of saltwater that have built up in his eyes are doing a brilliant job of preventing that. He shakes his head, and Phil's face sinks further into concern rather than confusion, and Dan shakes his head again to tell him no, it's not bad. It can never be bad when it's you.
Instead all he manages to say, now half nodding and shaking his head—it's a mess—is, "I love you."
He's never meant it more. He's always meant it just as much as now. He thinks he'll never really know, even in himself, what that word really means or where the limits lie—if there are any. What he does know is that he's going to spend the rest of his life growing to fit every bit of it he can. Phil takes his hand where it rests on the sofa between them, and Dan knows there was never any two ways about it.
"Yeah," Phil says. He's so solid. (So there. Always.) He looks Dan in the eyes, shakes his hand back and forth. "I love you."
The first spill of tears warms Dan's cheeks. He nods, looking down at their hands, then back up at Phil. He knows his mouth is doing something funny, squeezed up tight like he's just bit into a lemon, and there are tears already seeping in through the corners, and by the time he barely breathes out a, "Thank you," he's already diving into Phil, grabbing him up into a messy, breath-robbing hug. He can hear it in Phil's little gasp. But there's not a moment of hesitation between that and the feeling of Phil's arms wrapping around him, tight as ever. Assuring as ever.
"Thank you," Dan says again. And he hopes Phil knows he means for everything. For seeing him in the replies of his tweets in 2009, and for responding. For urging him to post the worst video Dan would ever make, which would confusingly also be his best one, because it would be the one that started it all. For having so much fun with him and helping him build a career out of it. For supporting him (15 years' worth of "great show thanks danny!" variations). For believing in him. For loving him, really, most of all.
Phil pushes his cheek into the top of Dan's head, and smooths his hand over Dan's hair again and again, and says, "Always."
Yeah, he understood.
-
By the time Dan has collected himself, enough time has passed that it would be embarrassing if he had even a shred of embarrassment left to show around Phil Lester, but he thinks that died somewhere around the decade mark.
They're still all caught up in each other, more one human than two, a blanket monster that's made its home against the tiniest corner of a perfectly sizeable sofa. We're All Doomed is well into its final quarter on the TV now, and they're sort of staring past it into the wall and the world and the future beyond. Phil's fingers are still in Dan's hair; which is just the way he wants to keep it.
Except that's when Dan remembers the thing that started his descent into incomprehension in the first place, and he briefly—with enough warning to Phil—sits up to get his phone from his previous spot on the sofa. He settles back into Phil with it in hand, so Phil has a clear view of the screen over his shoulder, and pulls up the tweet again. He scrolls down and taps on the waiting reply line, then stops.
How to say everything he just said to Phil, verbally and otherwise? (Mostly otherwise, let's be honest.) The task seems insurmountable. There aren't enough words in the dictionary, or hours in the day to use them. He can feel Phil's quiet expectance over his shoulder, steady but not applying any pressure. He'll wait for Dan as long as he needs him too.
But it doesn't take long. Because hey, Dan may be a self-professed yapper extraordinaire, but even he knows when the game is up. In this case there's just no use.
He pulls up the list of emojis, and taps on one.
Just one.
Then he waits, holding the phone just there, letting Phil see it and understand that that's it. All he wants to say. (Maybe all he's ever trying to say, to Phil.)
It's a heart.
(Orange, of course, because it's still about WAD.)
But just a heart.
Dan twists his head against Phil's shoulder to look up at him. "What d'you think?"
Phil is still looking ahead at the screen, and Dan watches the microscopic changes in expression on his face, from the softening of his wide eyes to the way his mouth gently relaxes into a smile. He looks down at Dan—Dan thinks, beautiful, mine—and says, "Yeah." Dan feels Phil's arm squeeze him around his stomach. "Do it."
So he does.
#hope you liked this!#likes/reblogs/etc are hugely appreciated <33#dan and phil#phan#phanfic#phanfiction#fanfiction#dan and phil fanfiction#mine

WELL everyone has a lot of feelings about visual imagination. :D
I went through the reblogs and comments on the two main posts I made about it and I decided not to respond to the reblogs mainly because the tags sometimes addressed me but most of the reblogs were offering personal accounts, which were very interesting to read but I don’t think really needed input from me. The same held true for a lot of the comments, but I found a few I wanted to answer.
I did want to say that I want us to be careful when we talk about visual imagination and visual thinking, or lack thereof -- the word “hallucination” came up occasionally (mainly in terms of “someone else said this” or in terms of self-description, which is a personal prerogative) and hallucination generally implies that you can’t control or discern the reality of what you’re perceiving, plus it carries negative/pejorative implications a lot of the time. I’d like to keep this discussion neutral and also make sure we refrain from stigmatizing hallucination, either, so just be cautious in how you discuss all of this. People shouldn’t feel belittled for the way in which they perceive the world, whatever that perception might be. You guys have actually been really great about this but it’s always good to vocalize those boundaries.
gallusrostromegalus
If you tell me to picture an apple, i can imagine several apples, with different sizes, weights, textures and colors, and how the internal structure of the fruit develops from the bud like a time-lapse movie. It's wild to me that people CANNOT do this- though hilariously, it affects my writing in that I straight-up don't put descriptions in because my brain auto-generates scenes and appearences for me and I think i kind of assume everyone else's brain does too
Which is especially bananas because I don’t put in descriptions because I don’t see the point, like why would anyone want a bunch of irrelevant words, get to the important words! Two ends of a weird-ass range, I suppose.
akela-nakamura
I very much see a picture when I'm writing/reading. In fact I sometimes get frustrated when I'm writing because I can't -quite- get the right words to describe what's in my head. It's not like, All of the time but I visualize things often and it usually doesn't get in my way. It's just...there lol
A bunch of people said that often when they write they’re describing the pictures in their head, which does sound incredibly frustrating and tedious at times, as a practice -- trying to get the right word to evoke a mental image does seem much harder than just picking a fun word that indicates the vibe, which is what I do. They’re difficult in different ways but yeah it does sound very annoying.
taketheshot21
Brains are fascinating. Question, is it the same for voices? Do you 'hear' characters own voices in your head when you read/write or not?
It seems as though some people who don’t get visual do get audio, but I don’t get either. If I want to know how something sounds, I have to say it out loud myself -- often before I publish something I’ll read it out loud to myself to check for flow. Occasionally if I’m writing a scene in the Shivadhverse where I’m not sure of the speech patterns, I’ll go listen to people speaking in Welsh accents on YouTube to fix the accent in my mind for a bit so that I can write it properly, but it needs refreshing every time I do it.
Like, in Twelve Points there’s a scene where Noah says something surprising to most of the family, and there’s a beat of silence before Michaelis starts to laugh -- and I know exactly how to evoke a sense of his reaction, but I don’t hear any of it in my mind, or see him sitting at the dinner table laughing. I have some sense of how most of the adults sound, but I’m around teenagers so rarely that I don’t really hear Noah’s voice at all -- but writing him as a twentysomething in a later story, I have a much better sense of what his fully-adult voice would sound like.

I don't get mental IMAGES but I will experience phantom sensations sometimes especially with certain gory/painful descriptions which is. Fun.
This is why I assumed horror was such a popular genre for fiction podcasts, because it’s a “safe” way of experiencing horror stories without having to deal with the visuals or the jumpscares. It’s very perplexing to me now to know that some people absolutely still get the visuals, with horror podcasts. Although I suppose it still offers a higher level of control.

People in dreams have faces...
Yeah, that must have sounded kind of creepy, I forget most people who dream in visuals do see faces. I knew that I was a bit unusual for not seeing them in dreams but it’s not like I see blank heads, I just never see anyone from the neck up, or if I do their face is in shadow.
snazzy-hats-and-adhd
Hrm. Well now I kinda want to go and do a close reading of some of your stuff specifically looking for visual imagery to see if I can quantify an opinion on it, but since I've been following you since before I realized you had actual books published, it's probably a moot point. I hope your potato pancakes were delicious. 💜
They were! I do wonder how my books must read to people with visual imaginations, but comments seem to indicate I’m not bad at it (and thank you to those who said that, it was very reassuring), so my writing to evoke feeling and their reading to inspire seeing/hearing must mesh pretty well. It’s definitely something I’m going to keep in mind going forward, the fact that people will actually see what I describe, but I think also that might be why my fanfic is reasonably popular -- I leave a lot of scope for peoples’ minds to fill in the blanks, which we already want in fandom a lot of the time.
thebibliosphere
Yeah, I am in the same boat and I get pissed off being told to "describe more things" and I'm like "why? That's just clunky." When I read and write I'm enjoying the formation and rhythm of the words, not the images in my head, because I do not have any. I can't even do it when I focus really hard and do nothing else. It's like a dream I can't reach. According to my psych person that's aphantasia but *shrug*. I've never known any different.
It really is bonkers. I’ve never known any different either, at least that I know of, and I don’t know that I get annoyed with it but I did used to be a bit confused as to why people wanted more description, it just always felt like padding to me. I once got into it with someone about how Sam Vimes is never described fully in the Discworld books, and I was like “Why would you? Pterry gets away with it, I should be able to” (which is rather arrogant of me admittedly) and they were like BECAUSE IT’S REALLY ANNOYING NOT TO HAVE A DESCRIPTION. And now I get why! Poor Sam Vimes was just a blur in their head!
I don’t want to go into therapy but I’m reaching a point where I’m like “If I wait any longer, no therapist is going to take me” :D
br-nz
This is fascinating to me because i have a very rich visual inner world. I write fic too and i literally see the stories play out in my head, like a movie. It’s how i put myself to sleep at night, i lie there and plot out more scenes.
I mean, I do that too, I just don’t see the scenes visually. I think about situations and interactions, and sometimes I take notes if I come up with a really good turn of phrase, but it’s literally Telling Myself, there’s no showing :D
delphinidin4
I would love to read your source on ~40% of people don't visualize when they read! I'm really interested in psychology and the imagination.
I actually got the stat reversed so apologies for that, but the research comes from the Wiki on Visual Thinking, so less reading in specific than just cognition in general:
Research by child development theorist Linda Kreger Silverman suggests that less than 30% of the population strongly uses visual/spatial thinking, another 45% uses both visual/spatial thinking and thinking in the form of words, and 25% thinks exclusively in words.
laurabwrites
This is where the phrase 'in the mind's eye' comes from btw. Lots and lots of people picture things visually in the mind. As with everything there's a range of how detailed the visualizations are/can be. This website might be helpful to you: https://aphantasia.com/vviq/
Oh that test was really interesting and also extremely frustrating to take, lol. :D

⌗ HASHIRA ICKS ᶻ 𝘇 𐰁
➜ a/n ; my apology for being off for a while 🤭 also, HAPPY LATE NEW YEARRR!! i cant believe its already march MASTERLIST WILL BE REOPENED SOON 🥲 part 2 when i decide to get my lazy ass out of bed [TYSM FOR 200 FOLLOWERS ILYSM 🫶🏾🫶🏾]
➜ warnings ; swearing, not proof read so expect some mistakes
➜ genre ; crack, fluff(?)
★ MITSURI !
she would DEFINITELY act like those vsco mfs. like you would be meeting up for a study date or something and she'll bring out the largest water bottle known to man and all while you stare at her struggle to lift it out her bag. to this day you wonder how she's able to carry that around everyday.
her nicknames get progressively worse. she goes from "hey my love!" to "i love you so much my beloved pumpkin kitty kat sugar boo boo!!"
i feel like she'd also be those mfs that make it so obvious someone is talking about them. except she does it by accident. "babe," you whisper, "see that dude behind our table? he's my ex. you remember elijah right?" and then she's turning right around, pointing and saying out loud, "elijah? ohhh your ex!" you just facepalmed as your ex turned around, giving the two of you a dirty look.
she'd try way too hard to seem intimidating (canon) but no matter how much she tries, as soon as the person she's arguing with says something rude back, she's sobbing on the ground. "ugh your lipgloss is soooo outdated." she says rolling her eyes at the person that insulted you. "you're one to talk about outdated. you have fucking scrunchies and a huge ass hydroflask that you never really even drink from anyways. also, those bracelets you're wearing are the presents i got for my 5 year old niece. on top of that you act like regina george from wish.”
you best know the next day she came into college looking like a whole other person. soon she got really popular for having the “glow up of the year” (i am having way too much fun with this 😭😭)
★ TENGEN !
overuses the same jokes to the point where its so cringe you have to cover your face out of second hand embarrassment. "why did the cow cross the road? to-" "-go to the moovies. i know," you say rolling your eyes. “how did you know!” he asks and you just stare at him like 😃
also texts like a he came straight out of youtube comments. "No one: Absolutely No one: My dog: Me: *laughs at a fish dying*" "HAHAHA BABE UR SO FUNNY HAHAHA" while in real life you’re texting that with a face straighter than drake (friends suggestion bc i literally asked her who’s the straightest person she knows)
he talks and acts like a british dad😭😭 “hey darling me and the rest of the lads are gonna watch the new chelsea game against arsenal.” and u think nothing of it until u start hearing them shout “PASS THE BALL YOU FUCKING TWAT!” and cheering as loud as if he were at a concert when his team scores.
he’s terrible at thirst traps ☠️ you were at an important work meeting when you heard a ding from your phone. it was a message from your husband. “Hope you enjoyed the show baby girl 😻🥵🍆” and you try your absolute best to not start bursting out laughing when you see the video of him thrusting his hips into the camera like ricardo milos. and to make things worse, one of your co-workers looked over your shoulder to see what you were looking at and immediately started laughing. then everyone wanted to know what you were watching and the whole room erupted in giggles. safe to say everyone would make references to the video whenever uzui was around while the guy himself kept wondering if they were talking about him or it was just inside joke he doesn’t know about☠️
★ RENGOKU !
speaks really loud for no damn reason... (canon)
like you would be talking shit about someone in the cafeteria the he would be speaking so loudly basically the whole world could hear him. "babe, you know jessica from class 2?" you whisper, "yeah apparently she was caught fucking Mr Wilson to get a higher grade in chem.."
"i always knew jessica was a slut!" he practically screams, earning a few turned heads. "i could tell just by the way she walked up to me on wednesday!" you facepalmed as he continued to ruin not only his reputation, but yours as well. "and did you see the way she was practically begging for sir to screw her! like this girl would do anything to get laid!" by now the whole cafeteria (including the dinner ladies) turned to look at rengoku. some laughed and some gave him the nasiest look they could muster (her friends).
you were NOT surprised when an angry jessica made her way to your table.
he leaves the bathroom door open after he’s taken the most stomach-churning, revolting, nauseating, egregious, execrable, beastly shit so whenever he leaves, the horrible stench of shit makes you want to vomit your dinner out. and to make things worse, he always and i mean ALWAYS forgets to flush the toilet.
the smell was so bad you considered if it was a good idea to let him live with you.
“kyo.. do you mind closing the door after you do your business in the toilet and flush the toilet?” it was like talking to to a kid “or at least use the air freshener so i don’t have to smell it.”
and you almost rejoiced to the Lord when he immediately agreed and promised he’ll remmeber to close the door behind him (he still forgot a few times but it’s fine i think 😁).
all his clothing from socks to even underwear are fire themed. your friends always wonder how you manage to walk out standing next to him, who’s wearing a fire hoodie, fire trousers to match, and trouser nike’s. you once took him shopping so he can actually find another fashion style he likes instead of dressing like a 13 year old boy from 2015 but he resisted and continued arguing about how fire is like his own watermark. you eventually just gave up and suck it up when people on the streets laughed at him or gave him weird looks. he’s lucky you love him so much.

SEXYY RED - "POUND TOWN"
youtube
They were gonna find out anyway...
[5.69]
Crystal Leww: When I was in high school, I went over to a friend's house to work on a school project together, and she put on "Ms. New Booty" by Bubba Sparxxx. As teenagers, we were absolutely shrieking at that chorus, just like jumping up and down, hyped up on 7-11 Big Gulp soda. It is still one of the most viscerally funny, goofiest, most unserious things I've ever heard in music. I hope that feeling that I bottled up and hold dear to my heart even today is what what teens today felt the first time they heard "my coochie pink, my bootyhole brown!" [8]
Joshua Minsoo Kim: It was the pound heard 'round the town, and Sexyy Red became an instant star. It's easy to see why: she's having a total blast here while rapping with minimal effort, in a regular talking cadence. She lets out a laugh or two, throws in casual ad-libs, and says some of the most memorable lines of the year. Kanye talking about bleached assholes was always unrelatable; finally, a bootyhole song for the people. [7]
Ian Mathers: Look, I enjoy my trips to Pound Town as much as the next person, I just have some questions about how the Pound Town tourism board is spending their budget. [5]
Nortey Dowuona: This has been Sexyy Red's year, as last year was GloRilla's year, as last year was Doja Cat's year, as last year was Megan Thee Stallion's year, as last year was Cardi B's year... can we just let them all share the next year? I'm really irritated by the way we hype up a new femme rapper for a year, praise them to the roof and back, then give up on them afterwards (remember Chika? Remember Saweetie? Remember Free JT? Remember Maliibu Miitch? Remember Treety? Remember Dreezy?) We let too many mid male rappers get the chance to drop and hog the discourse with either praise or condemnation and seem to forget that women rappers are just as diversely populated and are good as hell. (REMEMBER CUPCAKKE!!!??) I can't even be too positive about this song cuz I know what happened to literally everybody who we were like, "they so good omg we love them, twerking on the runway" -- not doing that shit this year. All you folks pissed about Yachty making Tame Impala Feeding Music use that anger to engage with the next Rapsody album instead. And "Hellcats SRTs" is the actual best song Sexyy Red has ever done, but it's not as memeable. Fuck this. [9]
Alfred Soto: Wary of stanning for female rap artists who wield vulgarity like an épée -- the fandom, depending on its expression, can look an awful lot like exoticizing -- I resisted Sexyy Red. Her conversational tone reminded me what I admire about the Everyperson anonymity of dance singers from Shannon and Bernard Sumner to Katy B and Peggy Gou. I've accepted "Pound Town." Now, about her embrace of Trump... [7]
Taylor Alatorre: "TRUMP TO CITY: DROP DEAD" [2]
Katherine St Asaph: Please note as you read this score that for our 2023 return, we have also re-curved the rating scale, and the YouTube comments are a [-10]. [0]
Leah Isobel: "Pound Town" works wonders as a comedy bit and as an introduction to Sexyy Red's charismatic delivery -- the way she tosses off That One Line and then audibly starts giggling into the next is star power personified. I'm not sure it functions as well as a song as it does a meme, but that's what "SkeeYee" is for. [6]
Michelle Myers: Sexyy Red has better comedic timing than most professional comics. On "Pound Town," she's playful and winky, delivering unhinged lines about scouting Miami for hoochie daddies and exposing her cheating man (love u baby!). [7]
Wayne Weizhen Zhang: "My coochie pink, my booty-hole brown" was the first line that made me laugh out loud. The rest of "Pound Town" is a treasure trove of deadpan punchlines, from the withering delivery of "I'm out here in Miami," to the feigned imperative of "come suck a bitch toes," to the fourth wall breaking of "I can't say his name, 'cause he be cheating." The Nicki remix, for what it's worth, is an [8]. [7]
Will Adams: Listening to a song shouldn't make me want to furiously smash Logic's nudge function to get the vocal to actually align to the beat. [2]
Jeffrey Brister: Somewhat less...technically complex than "WAP," but I value directness. There's a lot to be said about clever wordplay and all the other literary techniques you want to reference, but sometimes you just need to hear "come suck a bitch toes" and appreciate the simple beauty of being insanely and candidly horny. [7]
Thomas Inskeep: I've been known to enjoy filth, but you've gotta give me something to latch onto. Filth for the sake of filth is just sad. 2 Live Crew, for instance, were filthy, but they at least sounded like they were having fun. John Waters of course glorified in filth in his early work, and made it art. There's no fun or art in "Pound Town"; Sexyy Red just sounds bored and uninspired, like she's just waiting for this to catch on online so she can start cashing checks. I hope she invests well. [0]
Jacob Sujin Kuppermann: Obnoxious! [8]
Jonathan Bradley: During his career peak, even while he was claiming to be the best alive, Jay-Z would often demur about whether he was actually a rapper. He didn't write anything down; he was a businessman; he would retire any minute now. This disengagement with the expectations of art, the notion that creativity might call someone to account and absorb them into a guild with traditions and limitations, has been resisted by other rappers since: Lil B, for instance, switching from Bay Area sneaker raps to rambling psychedelia or such MCs as Blueface or Teejayx6 severing the links between beat and flow. On "Pound Town," Sexyy Red reminds me of how Chicago drill icon Katie Got Bandz mumbled and smirked through her way through her rhymes, as if she were too dangerous to bother trying to be a rapper. Sexyy Red mumbles here, and cuts her lines off into short, simply rhymed taunts, as if she's too hot or maybe too horny to rap properly. She collapses into a giggle half way through some of these missives, switches to a playful sing-song for others, and breezily apologizes for almost giving away a man who's been sneaking around with her ("I love you baby!"). Despite the brooding piano-led beat, which approaches hook-ups the way Nas did paranoia home invasion in "Shoot Em 'Up," it's fun! Sexyy Red does what she wants; why would she bother putting in the effort of rapping properly? And even if "Pound Town" is more languid and less urgently anarchic than "Born By the River," and perhaps less insistent than "SkeeYee," it still has an important message about which parts of Sexyy Red are pink and which parts are brown. [8]
Brad Shoup: The textbook definition of "it ain't that deep". [8]

I genuinely apologize in advance for this post. Sometimes Andrew Lawrence comes up in my YouTube recommendations, often as a canary in the coal mine to let me know I need to stop hate reading and/or watching stuff. My internet already knows I want to see British comedy - if I do enough hate watching to make it think I want to see right-wig bullshit too, that’s when the Andrew Lawrence videos start appearing, and then I know I need to stop that shit.
I really don’t do it often; it just annoyingly takes very little for him to start turning up. One wrong click on his stupid fucking face and then he’s everywhere for a few days, a virus that multiples if you give it attention.
...I couldn’t resist the one he did today, about some comedy awards that are happening this weekend. It’s just really funny when Andrew Lawrence rants about comedy, because you can see him looking at the life he willingly chose to give up, of being a comedian. This pushes it from being the “hate watching type of funny, which you’re only slightly laughing at in a bleak way and it’s mainly just frustrating and rage inducing”, to straight-up, laugh out loud funny. I clicked on it. I’m sorry. I know we’re not supposed to give these things views and we’re definitely not supposed to give them attention, which is why I won’t even link to it though obviously anyone could find it. I mean, you shouldn’t. No one should. But holy fuck it’s really funny.
(I’ll be honest: I don’t often watch his videos, but also, I don’t never watch his videos. I do click on them once in a while. I’m admitting that because I want credit for the fact that this is only the second time I’ve made a post about one of his videos, the first time being the absolutely hilarious one he did after it was announced that Mock the Week was cancelled, where he pronounced it “Dara O’Bri-en” and called out Frankie Boyle even though he hasn’t been on since 2009. Other than that I’ve refrained from mentioning them, even when I’ve watched them, which I normally don’t, I know a hate watch is the same as anything else on his view count. But this one is so funny.)
Anyway, here are some of the funniest things about this video:
- The title of Lawrence’s video calls them “C4 Anti-Comedy Awards”, which implies they’re just going to put medals on Richard Ayoade.
- He takes so much pleasure in dropping into the middle of it the fact that he doesn’t pay his license fee. Even though he’s listing that as the reason he can’t watch these awards, and – okay I’m not British so I may well be getting a fact wrong while trying to correct someone else, which is always embarrassing, but isn’t the license fee a BBC thing? These are the Channel 4 Awards.
- Many of the comments (look, I’ve already admitted to hate watching an Andrew Lawrence video, there’s no point in pretending I didn’t also hate read the comments) are complaining about Nish Kumar and/or The Last Leg, saying of course those terrible things will win everything. Neither Nish Kumar nor The Last Leg are nominated for any of those awards.
- At some point he refers to someone else having a “substitute for a personality”, and hearing those words said in that distinctive deadpan voice is really funny.
- I want to know which comedians he thinks Netflix is censoring.
- “Cowards pushing a poisonous identity-obsessed agenda that they don’t actually believe in.” Okay. I realize that’s what people like him say about comedy all the time, that if you don’t make a sufficiently racist joke every four minutes on average it’s just toxic wokeness or whatever. But this comment is a lot funnier if you look at the actual list of nominees. I mean… I’ve seen some comedy with sharp enough leftie credentials to terrifying the likes of Andrew Lawrence. But this shit? BBC Ghosts, and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and Taskmaster, and Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett’s parenting podcast? There is nothing in here that should offend even the most easily upset of the Andrew Lawrence-type. What part of that list is he managing to look at and see poison?
Derry Girls criticized colonialism, which is pretty close to the evils of critical race theory, even if everyone involved is white. I guess if you assume anyone who’s not a straight white cis man ever appearing on screen is identity politics, you’d take issue with Starstruck and The Graham Norton Show. But come on. The Graham Norton Show. It’s not exactly revolutionary Marxism, is it? The Russell Howard Hour looks like radical left-wing propaganda compared to every show that’s nominated for these awards (except, again, Derry Girls - even for a hyperbolic joke I can’t suggest that Russell Howard has better left-wing credentials than Derry Girls).
(I’m feeling the need to clarify that I don’t even mean this as a bad thing, Taskmaster and BBC Ghosts are two of the least “edgy” shows I can think of, and they’re both absolutely fantastic. Not all comedy has to be sharply cutting radical satire. I’m just saying, this rant is extra funny when you look at the fact that the stuff that’s upset him so much is very much not sharply cutting radical satire.)
- Fucking love the conspiracy theory about the Edinburgh Fringe selling badly not because of skyrocketing prices, but because patrons of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival don’t want to see left-wing comedy. When I think of people who attend the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, I think of people who can’t stand that woke shit.
- Near the end, he suggests that Britain hasn’t got podcasts. Just throws that one in there. Comedy in Britain would be fine if only they were allowed to have podcasts. It’s that anti-podcast law passed by the British government that’s holding them all back. Why are no British people disseminating misinformation and toxic rhetoric via the medium of podcasts like the Americans are? I don’t know what he thinks Russell Brand does for a living.
- It is so funny when he goes straight from an absolutely unhinged rant, all these opinions just totally divorced from reality and delivered straightforwardly while staring directly into the camera, and then straight into “please do like and subscribe”.
Okay I’m done now. I will go back to pretending Andrew Lawrence doesn’t exist - or trying to, because now that I’ve watched that one he’ll be popping up everywhere again. That’ll be my cue to stop doing that.

Alex the Space Ace: Main Blog and Side-Blogs.
Unrepentantly myself:
Main blog: Alex the Space Ace. Has a bunch of "it me" type posts. ATSA: Godless Snarker: because every day some manner of religious bullshit reminds me that being an atheist is something to be proud of. ATSA: Politics: My politics are in flux right now (drifting leftism-ward from liberal), so this side-blog will have a range of opinions. ATSA: Further Left: What it says on the tin. Should have just posted this stuff to politics. White workeness is a journey, not a destination. Me making an effort to do the background reading listen to diverse voices, but again, these reblogs could have just gone to politics. Might consolidate the three later. Alex IRL: Empty for now. I intended this to be for things I write about my life and pictures I took myself instead of reblogs. I do at least intend to post some pictures (none of myself or relatives, but relatively safe stuff like my own art projects or the sandhill crane I saw near the building where I work recently) eventually. ATSA: That Queer Shit: Because I am queer and support other queer people. ATSA: That Kinky Shit: Because I am kinky and support other kinky people. Most of my kink life is what I read and write these days, so this blog is mostly reblogs of kinky or kink-adjacent stuff I wanted to see again. ATSA: Canned Turnip: Things that made me laugh out loud at least the first time (Side-blog title from the old account's Canned Turnip Off Cockslap, which gets its title from this fic (link goes to AO3).
Arts and Crafts:
ATSA: Arts and Crafts general crafts blog. I have too many hobbies already, but I love looking at art projects, even if I never make one. ATSA: Pixel Art: in which I pretend I'll ever cross-stitch anything as complicated as what's reblogged here. ATSA: Yarn and Floss: pretty pictures of things made with yarn, embroidery thread, and occasionally string.
Fandom stuff:
ATSA: Fic Links. Because if I put these in any other fandom blog, they'll get lost in the other reblogs. ATSA: Fandom Dork, for all my past and sort-of fandoms, except for Star Trek (my first and forever fandom) and whatever my current obsessive fandom is. ATSA: Space and Sci-Fi: Space, science, and science-fiction that sometimes overlaps with the fandom and derisann stuff. ATSA: Star Trek Forever: My first and forever fandom. Like, since watching Next Gen as a kindergartener in 1989. ATSA: Star Wars: My current obsessive fandom. I've always been aware of it through cultural osmosis, and got into the prequels for a bit when they were new (they began right before I started high school and ended in my early adulthood), and I got into the Sequels a bit (mostly the fic because fuck everything that happens after Episode VII), and then in May of 2023 I got back into Star Wars in a big way. Cue watching tons of youtube videos and reading tons of meta and fanfic and, oh yeah, the canon and legends material. I'm working on an AU of an AU fic-verse that is kind of all over the place and is spawning multiple timelines, but if someone, somewhere, read any of it and left a comment, I might cry from joy that I'm not just typing into the void. ATSA: Star Wars: Daydream 'Verse: A side-blog I made for the above AU of an AU fic-verse. ATSA: Reaction Gifs: Reaction gifs, gifs from movies and TV, and recently screencaps from movies and TV, because obviously I already have too many side-blogs. I started the original gifblogforsim before it was common for social media sites to make reaction gifs available, and it was bad "netiquette" to hotlink from someone else's space.
Writing:
ATSA: Writing: posts about writing, writing tips, writing encouragement, the occasional infographic, and probably some prompts if I forgot on the day it was queued that the plot bunny pet shop was also a thing. ATSA: Plot Bunny Pet Shop: Story ideas that I like. I will likely not get around to writing any of them myself (I'm struggling enough to post coherent pieces of my current immersive daydream), and I hope that someone else will--and ideally tag me so I can read it. ATSA: Quotes: Because I have so many of them in my likes and they deserved their own space. ATSA: Book Love: Because books are my first love (you'll see a lot of my old account side-blogs like derisann and booksaremyfirstlove
Other:
ATSA: Music and Video, because most of the time when I'm browsing Tumblr I'm already listening to a podcast or half-watching YouTube videos on the other screen. I'll get back to these, no really. ATSA: Health and Fitness: Exactly what it says on the tin. Also a lot of mental health and disability stuff. ATSA: Food and Drink: Recipes. I reblog simple ones that look tasty and don't have ingredients that are too expensive. Now that I have a kitchen again (as of July 2024; for a year and a half before that I lived in a crackerbox of a studio with just a microwave, a toaster, and an electric kettle), I might actually try to make some of these. ATSA: Read Later: Stuff I intend to read, but not right now. Kind of like the thousand or so dead tree books sitting in stacked crates or the thousand or so ebooks on my external hard drive. I've read many, but the rest of the stack is aspirational. ATSA: Reference: Exactly what it says on the tin. Should probably have combined with ATSA: Useful. ATSA: Reverse Hope Chest: Called such because the original version was as I was leaving my ex and looking for my own place. I've been on my own (though occasionally with roommates) since 2014, but I'm always on the lookout for neurodiverse-friendly cleaning and organizing tips and other general adulting-in-the-home type stuff. ATSA: Sidetrackedery: interesting articles. Began as Sidetrackedery on LiveJournal (that started in 2009) and moved to verticalfile on LiveJournal. This is something I'd like to have kept up, but there just aren't enough hours in the day to do the stuff I want to do online AND do all the art projects I want to do when I also have to do stuff like commute and work and sleep and stuff. Stuff I wanted to hold onto but which didn't fit in any of the other side-blogs: ATSA: All the Rest ATSA: Useful: More stuff I wanted to have easy access to. It's a little bit different from reference, but they probably could have been combined. Unsmoted Art: NSFW/18+ type stuff that's managed to survive on Tumblr. ATSA: Best of the Best: when it's a great post and I remember this side-blog exists. ATSA: Derisann: Blog of pretty things. There will be much (but not total)) overlap from the old derisann.
Not Reblogs:
Out of Context Puzzle in a Thunderstorm: Out of context funny quotes (and otherwise quotable bits) from various PIAT podcasts, including D&D Minus, God Awful Movies, Citation Needed, The Scathing Atheist, and The Skepticrat. Not affiliated with PIAT, but I did ask Noah Lugeons when I saw him at FREEFLO 2023, and he said to ask their social media guy, and their social media guy said it was okay, so it's okay. This is another one of those online things that I'd love to keep up with if I had more time/attention span.
