It’s been a strange week in a strange year that is 2020! How could @surfer_magazine close?I still really don’t understand where the surfing industry is heading. This cover is a really special one to me of @timmyturnerferal in the wilds of Indonesia! ••••••📷©Childsphotos I remember when I shot this image it was worthy of a cover! I hand carried these rolls of film to Singapore to process to see what gold I had scored. Then knew what I had and couriered the gold to @grantellis1 at Surfer mag! Thanks for running it on the cover mate! It will always remind me why I lived and loved Indonesia 🇮🇩 the people the waves and the wild times. Turned 40 today and feeling grateful for everyone in my life and everything that's happened, the past, the now, the future, the good and the challenging, my health and freedoms. Two sessions already today -- pumping well overhead chaotic reef break all by myself, testing strength and commitment but giving so many epic rides and special visits from two different pods of dolphins who came within a couple of feet, their gentle curious eyes connecting before they'd glide through the waves -- and then second session with a great homie at a gentler spot that still had solid size and consistency but felt tame and playful in comparison to the early morning... So many waves and just us at our own peak...
