On Indigenous People’s Day (Oct. 12th) I honored my ancestors. I visited the National Museum of the American Indian where they have an exhibit about the native people from Central America. They have clay and marble vessels, pots, incense burners, whistles, copper alloys bells, and more from the Ulúa River region of Honduras, my motherland. It was really nice to see how artistic and close to nature my ancestors were, and those who remain still are close to nature and protect it with their own lives.
