(It’s Time For Water Themed Questions With Julie!) have you ever been in the ocean? if you were a pirate what would you name your ship? do you think there’s undiscovered sea monsters? do you need to go drink water?

HELLO JULIE!!

1. I've been in the sea which is pretty much the ocean and gone swimming but have never been in a proper ocean

2. oo this is a good one I'd say maybe after a Greek monster like Medusa or Echidna or something becuase then I could have that monster on the front of the ship and stuff so ye (can you tell I've been watching Percy Jackson lmao)

3. I think there is definitely a lot of undiscovered sea monsters both dead and alive becuase the sea is absolutely massive and we don't know much about it so there is definitely a lot we don't know under there

4. I do thankyou for reminding me. I am going to get one now :D

Firstly without any doubt; mom, dad and my sister. They are my home and my whole world. And then my room and Star Wars Rebels (my fave tv show).

25. Fave season and why?

Ooooo, I LOVE THE MONSOON. The rains have a very special place in my heart!! I love it, the dark clouds, the smell, the cold air, the plitter platter sound, the droplets of water hitting your face and so much more. It also fascinates me by how rains can either be a metaphor for angry-dark emotions and peacful-calm emotions. In some ways it defines me as well! I hope this answer makes sense 😅.

Anyways if I may ask, is there any lore on Vi and Odie’s mom?? And did they just decide to move to Stardew one day or did they both have a mental downfall at the same time

okay, well, odie and vi's mom is completely out of the picture by this time. they were mostly raised by their dad since they were maybe, like, 10-ish? maybe 11? she was quite mentally unwell by then, verbally abusive, and basically ran away from their home when they were both young. neither of them have heard from her since then, and neither has their father, who has tried his best to care for them both since she left. both odie and vi adore their dad, and neither of them really remember much about their mother other than the fact that she was always yelling at them

vi and odie's dad is a REAL mvp 🙏🙏

as for their decision to move, it was mostly odie being Sick And Tired of his old life working in an office. both of them lived together in the city, so when odie decided to move he asked whether vi wanted to come with him. it was difficult for vi to keep their apartment alone, because id imagine it was hard for her to find a job, and it was harder to find one that paid enough to keep it, so she was like eh okay and decided to come with LMAO

vi didn't have much of a mental downfall beforehand, it was just odie and his anxiety </3 vi is there mostly to support her bro and make sure he leaves the house instead of hermit-ing up there

I needed something a little more muted than the alien-sleepover theme (my last one)! I'm feeling a little high-strung lately, and the cool medium blue is good to ground me without being just Depressing. I'm glad it comes across as safe. that's the vibe.

speaking as a very direct person with a lot of experience in confronting people, trust me when i say that confrontation in this instance would only serve to make you both feel bad. if you don't like them anymore, be busy when they ask to meet up! limit who gets to see your insta stories if you think they'll notice you there! become a bad texter with them and let your replies fall behind until you feel comfortable dropping the thread entirely. if you aren't really friends and rarely talk, then neither of you communicate with each other honestly/deeply enough to have a complicated breakup conversation - you don't speak each other's language.

sometimes growing up is like: i hate that the world is so superficial and fake! honesty and authenticity for all! always be direct! and then realizing, through trial and error, that some things you might value (like directness, authenticity, open & transparent communication) are square pegs, and in some round situations, it's entirely valid to prioritize other values and desires (which might be compassion, kindness, avoiding unnecessary conflict, etc).

essentially : there will be consequences to every action you take, and there is ultimately no right or wrong judgment anyone can make about how you proceed. but as a person who is overly direct and has entirely accidentally hurt people because of that, i personally wouldn't recommend confrontation with a half-friend you don't really vibe with. but you might figure out a way to handle it - experience is a mean teacher, but a very good one 🥲 - just be aware that it might not go how you expect it to go. good luck ily

yeah exactly, you're completely right about how if we don't communicate honestly/deeply enough then we can't really have that conversation!!! that's exactly what i feel like and for that reason, i definitely do not want to choose confrontation. this isn't necessarily their fault (well, mostly) it's more of like a difference in values / me not feeling at ease w them so it would do more harm than good like you say. i think i'm going to definitely limit contact / only meet if they ask and not go out of my way to meet them but there is this like expectation that we will everytime they are around which makes that difficult. i am also such a people pleaser and find it very hard to say no which means i can't always take the steps to limit the contact too but i am going to try harder and hopefully i can figure things out soon bc it is weighing on me a little
