‘ the earth’s cavities cry at her beauty; they beg her to fill them up with her essence, so she may be the one to keep the soil breathing.

the flowers weep, their petals withering as they mourn her grace— her fleeting presence. they long to feel her soft, gentle touch, just once, before they wilt and return to the turf of which they came. but alas, the doe cannot stay. her presence is temporary.

and as soon as she is gone, the ground is dry and barren once more. ’
