📚 How many layers do you typically use? it depends on the complexity of the drawing! if it's just one character with basic shading it's usually around 5 layers (a sketch, lineart, basic color, shading layer, a couple color adjustment layers), if it has more characters/more shading/backgrounds it just keeps adding up. but im pretty sure i've never exceeded 50 though (my current computer also Cannot handle that very well djkksdkj) and i merge them whenever i can

G1. Where can your Tav be recruited? Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region? Or are they not recruitable until a later act? Zai is recruitable in the crash region, huddled in the swamp camp not long after encountering Mayrina's brothers and Ethel! She's a very nervous little tiefling sorcerer but is sharply aware of Ethel's illusion (provides advantage on the investigation check to see through the illusion and triggers a second check if Tav failed the first)! Although her seeming flightiness might put off most Tavs, Zai is a skilled spellcaster and if Tav leaves her behind Zai will stubbornly follow Tav in going after Ethel.

G4. What sort of general actions raise or lower their approval? Small approval: asking questions/clarifying situations (like Solas in DAI); joking in bad situations Medium approval: helpful/positive interactions and choices; playful/sarcastic to authority figures; bonus approval for "magic jock" style teasing on her High approval: protecting innocents; uncovering magical mysteries; telling gods to go fuck themselves and risking Smiting Small disapproval: dismissiveness/lack of curiosity/rudeness Medium disapproval: generic murder and mayhem, not exploring other routes to a specific solution High disapproval: extreme asshole/murderhobo energy/activity, direct insults, abuse to others in the party

G9. Does your Tav have any escalating conflicts with one of the other companions, like Lae’zel and Shadowheart’s knife-fight? Zai would probably escalate fastest against Astarion - his grasping for power and conflating power to freedom clashes right with Zai viewing power more as a means to an end and able to set it aside when it's no longer needed. I can see the nastiest it getting is Astarion deciding to sneak a bite off Zai (trying to prove he's stronger by getting a nibble of her draconic sorcerer blood) but she catches him and claws him with her nails. However, taking Zai into Cazador's palace makes her far more sympathetic to Astarion, and greatly approves if Tav persuades Astarion to not ascend. ADDENDUM: There's also a "war" between Gale and Zai as wizard against sorcerer - more for fun than anything, they're great friends and it's a delightful sass war.

S5. How do they react to the Player Character taking their first tadpole power? Oh boy. Zai would be grossed out at first but then be asking so many questions - trying to find correlations between the tadpole powers and her sorcery experience, helping as she can. But continuing tadpoles get her more worried for Tav and her questioning shifts to concern for their wellbeing.

S6. Will they stay with the Player Character regardless of siding with the goblins or the tieflings, or is it possible for them to leave the party permanently? Zai will have huge disapproval for siding with the goblins over the tieflings, but despite threatening to leave she won't. Zai's own tadpole situation keeps her near the party, so a Tav that works hard can mend that breach but it will not be easy going.

R5. Does the romance have different branching paths, or just one route to take? I think a romance with Zai would have a "soft" route (where Zai stays her kinda-nervous-but-utterly-cute self and it takes a little longer for peak ship) but also a "hard" route where Tav could make Zai more of a jerk instead of a jock but it's "faster" in terms of physical intimacy and makes for a darker personal quest.

Something about the way light filters through his hair, the starkness of his eyes, the shape of his knives and the way they form a monstrous spine. Vash but only by the absolute thinnest margin only because he can drive, he is just so horrifically bad at it (canonically). Knives just doesn't know how to drive. At all. Ngl if they need to get anywhere they call Wolfwood or Meryl.

16. What kinds of people do they have arguments with in their head? Oh boy. Nearly everyone, though more accurately Trin subtly argues with the dragon spirit that has empowered her constantly. Before her draconification, Trin was very much the calm cool librarian-spy with a steady lid on her temper; that aspect of her is still there, but the temper has shifted from probably an oil lamp with a stable wick to a constantly-under-pressure boiler. Her anger is very much its own entity, now personified with the dragon. Trin ends up being stuck either wanting to punch and fire-strike her way through situations (dragon) or maintaining her old balanced listen-through-then-decide (librarian-spy). It's very stressful, she rarely has good non-dragon days.

56. If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this answer change depending on the type of fear? Trin is much more the self-comfort type when she's scared. Before or during a fight, it's easy to translate that fear into anger and let that carry through, but a social situation makes that much more difficult. In fact, in her last session we crossed paths with the green dragon that escaped after killing the red dragon now empowering Trin. Although she was primarily annoyed by treating with the dragon, Trin was definitely scared - scared that the dragon would cause even more damage than last time, scared she (the dragon) could exacerbate Trin's draconic state somehow. She let our eladrin druid Naivalyn take more of the communication lead; their relatively-calmer head offered Trin better cues for withholding her more violent lashing out so we could get out of that situation without causing a fight.
