Oooh, I do use working titles for my fics! The majority of them are just extremely literal descriptions though—stuff along the lines of “Chrobin Post Battle Hurt/Comfort”, “Chrobin DoD”, “10th Anniversary One shot” and “Fake Dating Chap. 1”.

The only fic that had a more interesting working title was Half Orange….the original file for which is named “Wombo” which is short for “Wombo Chrombo” which I believe is a reference to a build for Legendary Chrom that I once saw on a gaming website. Clearly it left an impression LOL

Also this isn’t exactly a working title, but I did consider an alternative name for We Are Tied Like Two in Tethers—that being Something New, Something Blue!

"You're—...what?" Just as the adeptus was about to teleport away, Itto's voice stopped him. Reluctantly, Xiao tore his attention from the group of Abyss Mages huddled at the base of a cliff a ways ahead, instead pivoting to look at Itto with confusion.

"It is dangerous," he stated the obvious with blunt exasperation. This wasn't some pleasant afternoon stroll. Xiao's patrols across Liyue were full of danger; that was the point. Just one Abyss Mage was enough to pose a threat to most mortals, even more so with multiple of different elemental alignments.

Thus, it was his duty to act. He couldn't allow the other to put himself at risk.

"I will take care of them." Sternness smoothed his expression as his spear materialized in-hand. "Stay here. This will not take long."

It was true that the thoughts and feelings of others were of little consequence to him, and seldom entered his calculations. But as he’d learned at a tender age, there was no harm in collecting a cheat-sheet on another’s mind.

Besides, differing perspectives on the world were at the very least interesting and valuable if not valued; this much made it a crucial step to looking on other people less as threats and more as case studies.

Shachi. I see Shachi as slightly dirtier in general, and Penguin as slightly blushier. I don't think Peng could bring himself to say much that would be able to make Shachi blush. The other way around... probably, yeah. Even though I think the two of them feel really comfortable with each other, and Penguin would not blush as quickly as with anyone else.

38: Who is more sexually experimental? Who's more vanilla?

Oooohhhh ohohohoho.... in general, I see Penguin as kinda kinky. I don't know if experimental is necessarily the right word, as I feel he would be kind of hesitant to try things out, maybe, but if Shachi (or someone else, I can pretty much only see them have an open relationship) suggests something, he'd totally be up for it. I don't think I'd call Shachi vanilla, but... maybe a little less kinky than Penguin. A little 🤏

45: Can they fall asleep without the other?

No. Simple answer. They cannot. Not really, at least. They could like... snooze a bit, but they cannot fall into a deep, careless sleep without the other. Not even because they would worry about the other or whatever, but they just wouldn't feel at ease enough. It wouldn't feel right when the other is not there.

that could mean a myriad number of things. it's a curious statement, even a little eccentric. she chews it metaphorically in her mind like she might trying out a new flavor of food. mizuki isn't always the most tactful person, but she is certainly attentive, eerily perceptive, with or without aiba. she'd been that way since long before ...well, everything.

" what, like problems? huh. y'know, that could mean all sorts of things." a brash lilt belies a dainty appearance; as the detective and businesswoman idly fingers the rim of her glass. of course, even as an 'adult' she still couldn't drink, it was just a cream soda, dammit.

now wasn't the time to dwell about how seemingly mature and frankly? stylish the other woman was. it wasn't that mizuki didn't enjoy fashionable things, she did run a talent agency after all, she had to know the trends . . . but the words gnaw at her.

a little more serious answer: they can tell something is going on with optimus and they desperately want to pretend it's not. they don't want to know how he's aware of things he shouldn't be, how he knows stuff that should have long been forgotten, how he seems to be more familiar with them than he should be. how sometimes he speaks and it's like the dead are talking through him. how sometimes he will answer to empty air and somehow they can just tell what he's responding to. who he is talking to.

they Know. and they really, really want to pretend they don't.

they already carry the guilt of failing them once. the idea of doing it once more is unbearable and they'd rather deceive themselves than face it. they'd rather their friends stay dead and gone than think of them seeing what they've become.

Honestly, while I'd never say no to movies/theatre (albeit I tend to cry at live performances so maybe wait to get to know the person for the vulnerability required in the latter lolol), I'm going to be a parody of myself and say museum dates are the way to go, speaking as both a lifelong museum rat and someone who lives and thrives off of shared experiencing of art. Perhaps a nice meal afterwards too at a cafe/restaurant!

cosmos— what's the best compliment you've ever received? who was it from?

Gosh, this is a hard one! I would say my favourite teacher of all time (taught me English twice and media studies once) in high school would always end the year with these lovely personalized notes for everyone who took her classes, and the one she wrote the bullhorn 13-year-old-me at the end of 7th grade is still framed for a good reason - Your intellect astounds me, your grace enlightens you, and your refusal to bend towards others' conformity defines you. She really was the absolute best.

Other than that, dear Sam @sorunort once said in response to my bizarre old-timey speech patterns "My God, you really are a vampire." And you can't really go past that!!
