OKAY SO I've just spent the best part of an hour scrolling through your blog and reading a bunch of your destiel meta and I HAD to message you... I was one of the many people who STRONGLY believed destiel had a chance of being canon after season 8 (more like season gr8 am i right), but throughout the years I slowly lost all hope. However, S14 has made me 110% invested in the show again and YOUR META IS GIVING ME HOPE FOR DESTIEL, which is TERRIFYING. Your writing is wonderful and I'm STRESSED.

I’ll probably make an end-season meta post after 14x20 — if I have the time — that touches upon SPN’s current and repeating themes since Season New Beginnings S12/Dabb Era, not to mention I have, like, some more unfinished meta in my drafts >.>)

Yeah I mean, I didn’t join Destiel land until Summer 2016, and before that, I was late to the Season 11 party, so I basically had no narrative context for anything, and I’ll copy-paste what I said here: 

Looking back, one significant thing I recall? S11 gave me a sense of Destiel’s true narrative validity (as not a ‘fanon’ ship but organically developed in the canon) when I perceived it as a season that was ‘missing something’. Keep in mind I had no idea about Destiel yet while watching S11 at the time.

I was literally asking myself — repeatedly — why Dean/Amara seemed to contain odd narrative holes, considering A. Dean explicitly said that the non-consensual attraction he felt for Amara was NOT love and “it scares him”, B. Amara told Dean that ‘something stops you - keeps you from having it all’, C. Djinn!Amara stated that she can: ‘feel the love [Dean] feels, except it’s cloaked in shame,�� and D. Mildred’s iconic ‘You’re pining for someone’ —> which did not logically correlate with A and C, meaning: since Dean doesn’t freely love Amara and thus isn’t possibly pining for her — with female love interests as currently non-existent (I remember crossing off the dead/gone girls on a piece of paper lol) — who the hell was he pining for, then?

Obviously, without writing long-ass paragraphs of meta about it again in this post, S11 made sense as soon as I watched it within the Destiel context (especially after I read up on some grandiose pieces of Destiel meta (@charlie-minion was the very first person who inspired me to write meta; I followed her once I joined the fandom Oh my god, here we go, holy crap this subtext – I’m invested in this godforsaken ship because they’re in love with each other and I’m not getting off any time soon. The rest is history.

I’m aware that I do come off as positive (and I’m still Destiel-positive; whatever happens in 14x20 this week may or may not change that), but I hope you don’t mind if I use your lovely ask as an additional opportunity to clarify my meta standpoint: no one’s saying Destiel WILL become text. 

The general Destiel meta community (all subfactions: Destiel-positive, -negative, -neutral, and in-between) is not the Most Holy Canon Word, and we aren’t SPN writers, and again, we can’t actually speak to the veracity of Destiel as guaranteed-gonna-go-textual, but we — a diverse pool of critical thinkers from all walks of life: particularly those who have some degree of experience in literary academia/English literature studies (fun fact: I was actually pursuing a Minor’s in English until I changed my mind - my first love’s Health Science/Biology, which I stuck with, but here I am doing lit-crit analysis on the side *wink*) — can speak to the veracity of Destiel as a real, palpable, and ever-substantial long-running romance narrative aka the love story between Dean and Cas IS THERE. I see it. We all see it. We didn’t pluck it out of the random ether one day. It naturally evolved across the show’s overarching narrative like some vast spiderweb, linked together by numerous character arc amalgamations of Dean Winchester and Castiel as separate individuals who were then brought together — who brought themselves together, by the sheer force of free will and choice — and are now inherent parts of the other’s story (and respective character progression).

I say this too many times to count: the entire point of writing meta? Personally, it enables me to appreciate the literary gorgeousness of Dean and Cas’ relationship as, first and foremost, a tentative alliance offset by the very moment Cas raised Dean from perdition (it’s a poetic beginning). Their alliance then inevitably proliferated into a rocky — at times, necessarily turbulent — friendship, then a deep profound bond…one that crossed platonic boundaries since S7/8 and is, ultimately, indelibly rooted in romance. Together, Dean and Cas build up each other’s strengths, complement each other’s flaws, and narratively motivate the other to self-introspect — to become the best version of themselves that they were always meant to be: self-actualized entities who let go of their painful, horrifying, psychologically/emotionally destitute pasts.

These above reasons and more are why I think Destiel belongs right up there on the shelf of Ye Olde Classics, similar to epics by John Milton, Shakespearian tragic dramas, Homeric characteristic cruxes, and the great Odyssey journey: a legendary journey, fraught with circumstance, that finally ended with Odysseus (now an enlightened man) returning to Penelope, the love of his life.

Channeling the scope of Homer’s Odyssey, Destiel is an incredible storytelling feat of obstacles, both internal and external, romance tropes, mirroring, foreshadowing, and visual cadence/emotion, enhancing SPN’s already character-driven main plot in that Dean and Cas try to make it back to one another; like Penelope, their love holds true despite everything. If Destiel were an M/F couple, we all know their love story would be absolutely undeniable to the GA.

I do understand the bitterness S14’s fostered in some viewers, though. I do understand that Dean and Cas seem distant (and yeah, it’s a noticeable difference compared to S12/S13), but I believe the Destiel subtext is still heavy and holds steady.

Right now, at this point, there remains multiple personal issues for the characters to solve, you know? Dean and Cas aren’t talking properly; their love languages stay mistranslated, although we’re persistently shown that they still understand each other on a certain level that no one else can, and the visual narrative keeps framing them as on-the-nose solid counterparts: a domestic-spousal romantic unit independent of Sam.

They want to be there for the other. They need to quash the final remnants of their respective internal loathing (Dean’s self-worthiness, Cas’ self-expendability) before they’re able to give the other 100% of their time, efforts, attention, and love (as flawed and complicated but compellingly beautiful as it can possibly be). During the times Dean and Cas do try to talk shit out, extraneous issues continue to get between them.

As other friends/meta pals discussed with me, S14 is like S10 in that it’s confusing the cast/audiences. And exactly: S8, besides S11/S12/early S13, also belongs in the close-to-canon serious Destiel narrative transition! I can discuss the showrunning/writer problem of SBL (Singer + Bucklemming; @occamshipper hits the nail on the head) that tugs subtext – especially subtext linked to Destiel – back and forth, sometimes in the weirdest nonsensical ways, but I won’t go too far into it here. I agree, however, with the recent idea that Jensen does seem a bit confused as to where he should bring Dean emotionally this season (don’t get me wrong, I do NOT believe Dean is OOC; OOC is a completely different concept vs expected character behaviour). And if Dean’s consistently romance-coded past interactions with Cas are any indication, Jensen would also — in the same vein as all of us — want Dean and Cas to start getting their shit together. Long-running fictional characters like Dean and Cas, conceived over 10 years, are so well-written to the point where you, the author, can predict what they’ll do even if you just plop both of them inside a room and give them no direction, and I personally feel that nowadays Jensen is prevented from achieving Dean’s further internal growth/unsure how to act in the moment because of some dumb SBL scripts saying one thing while his character’s heart says another. Wank aside—

Season 15 should hopefully convey a much more logical subtextual perspective e.g. unbelievably amazingly cohesive Season Destiel 11 that aired after choppy S10. Not all hope is lost!! I also want to clarify that I personally LOVED Season 14 in general. It’s been mostly Emotion-centric constant, with Yockey, Berens, Perez, and Dabb usually making my top-rank SPN writer list.

Currently the narrative’s still allowing pretty significant (imho) wiggle room for the lovers to fracture apart and get back together, where their miscommunication comes to a dramatic head. We just saw Dean and Cas argue over Jack’s well-being in 14x18 and 19. Dean — besides putting Cas at the top of his You’re-Dead-to-Me-Because-You-Lied-but-I-Still-Love-You-Goddammit hitlist (for clear spousal-coded reasons) and taking Cas’ actions to heart (he’s the person he trusted the most who lied to him) — no doubt blamed himself for what happened, and Sam was, like I said, the mouthpiece of truth. TFW were all culpable. They all failed Jack in some way, shape, or form.

I’m not expecting anything for 14x20, but I’m nervous either way! Thanks for sticking with my long answer

also I'm really loving the current triple item drops for select songs. I almost have 9k of each colour macarons. I was struggling saving up a decent amount of yellow and purple before the anniversary banners dropped, but I'm less stressed abt it now lol

FS- BAITY BLYTHE LOT

Alright so my translucent head came today and I pretty much immediately realized I don’t like her enough to keep and would rather have a different stock Blythe with similar makeup, so here’s my official sales post for the girls I don’t want.  Translucent RBL head-

-Factory sample- this doll is not an official release from Takara but she’s NOT a fake, she’s made from legitimate pieces and was likely a factory reject, or a test run for an official release. Her makeup is similar to quite a few dolls; bright green eye shadow and pink lips (possibly a test for a Kenner Lookalike?) BUT she has translucent skin. Unlike most Translucent Blythes, she has the ‘normal’ lip screening while the translucent dolls usually have bigger, more plump lips. She has the eye mech/chips from a Ribbonetta Wish Blythe, which is why her eyelids are pink.   Known flaws; Eyelashes are a bit mangled. Blush is missing, faint green marks under her eyes- I assume this is paint (perhaps someone got a little too spray-happy when doing her eye makeup) but I haven’t tried to remove it, I will leave that to the new owner.  Jacked up eye shadow on both eyes, this is hardly visible in natural lighting (and I couldn’t see it with flash) so I have a photo of it with a light un her head, so that you can see. She appears to have a scratch on one of her eye sockets, but it’s faint and not visible unless you’re REALLY looking in there. No visible scratches but I can take a third look.  Factory/Sample RBL doll #2

Also a factory sample/reject head- I don’t know what her base doll was, but she has warm brown eyeshadow and lips, and missing blush! Notes: -Makeup is perfect as far as I can tell. -Eyeballs have been replaced (by me) with EBL eyes with custom chips. Some of the chips have little scratches in them that I haven’t bothered to remove but most of them look fine.  The EBL eyes tend to get a little bit weird (one set in particular has a tendency to look downward, but all it takes is a gentle push with your finger and they go back up). -I glued one eyeball to the pole in her mech so that they’d fit tightly, this can lightly be pulled off with some hard pulling if you want to change them back. I can include the original eyeballs without the chips if you’d like, but they’re slightly yellowed to I’d recommend buying a new mech or eyeballs altogether.  -She DOES come with a body (not pictured), which is brand new but does not match her entirely- it’s slightly too pink and not pale enough, she’s a pretty good match for WS Licca bodies which I no longer have. -She has sleep eyes and is missing the spring in her mech. It was rusted and damaged anyway, though. (You really should just get her a new mech altogether lol)

Margaret Meets Ladybug EBL:

Notes: -LOTS of scratching on her blush, I have no idea where this came from but I noticed it recently.  -There’s a straight scratch on the eyeshadow of her left eye, I can’t get it to show up in photos but it’s there, especially under harsh light.  -Eye chips have some light scratches and dust on them. -I got this doll used, ages ago, and her hair was horrifically flawed in it’s rooting pattern, so I completely shaved her head and removed the scalp. I still have the bald scalp with the flanges cut off, which I can send if you want. All of the hair has been removed so it could be a good reroot project.  -limbs are more pink than her body, which is typical for EBLs. -eyeballs are a little off-white, also typical of EBLs especially MML and Samedi Marche, which were made with SBL eyeballs.

SIDENOTE: There's no scratch on her nose, it's just a doll hair that was stuck to her face and I hadn't noticed lol

There might be slight flaws that I haven’t noticed, all dolls will come bald and naked (RBLs will not have a dome either), translucent head comes without a body. MML comes with her pull charm, the other two do not.  Price is 200$ + shipping (US ONLY) for all three, I will not sell them separately. I WILL take offers though, as I want them gone as soon as possible.  Thank you!

Day 4 of Quarantine

April 11, 2021

We are over half way there with our quarantine! Today was a day that we felt the most droggy. We think it might be the food but our meals mostly consist of a lot of carbs and protein but little fiber, so we often felt food coma.

Breakfast: scrambled egg, sausage patties, cereal, pancakes with syrup

Lunch: Soft tacos, or salad with lunch sausage

Dinner: pasta

The food is kind of saltier than what we are used to and if it’s too salty we would eat packaged Korean food. Thank goodness I’ve been getting a lot with my roomies and they generously shared with me. Last night the pasta was a bit too salty so we ate ramen. Normally the food is not like this which gives me hope. Just for a bit of background, this base is self-sustainable. Meaning all students are required to do work duty to help this base run. So the food were made by a group of assigned students. We will be finding our assigned work duty tomorrow. 

In regards to sleep, I’ve been still sleeping only 6 hours waking up at 4am but, thankfully able to take a nap during midday. 

Note to self or interested in YWAM: GET EARPLUGS AND SLEEPING EYE MASK. You can sleep through anything. 

Last night our roomie Subin had a bad dream in regards to her exboyfriend and our staff leader woke up because I slept talk in the middle of the night. We wonder if it was ordained for me to wake her up so she could pray for subin. We also wonder why I slept talk. Ever since I was in middle school I was known to sleep talk and I never thought much of it because it’s usually gibberish, but last night they said I sounded whiny LOL. My staff leader said it might something that I have suppressed, but I’m not sure. Something to inquire to the Lord I guess. 

I was able to hear Esther’s incredible story of faith how God has provided her financially during her years as a student of DTS, then her SBL program, and going abroad in missions. Because it is engrained in us as Americans to be self-sustaining and have an emergency saving in dire situation, it is very foreign for me to see someone who lives rent month by month, not sure how God would provide but to move in faith that He will. I admire her journey yet I do struggle wondering where is the boundary where we still remain to be smart about money yet still live in faith? 

Today during service we attended the Korean Sunday Service and I joined because I heard the speaker would translate in English. He is a refugee survivor from North Korea who was a student in DTS. I try to stay optimistic and open praising in Korean but it was still not as freeing as it is praising in English. When he started speaking, he ended up never translating so I was disappointed. I instead waited till the end to hear the summary from my staff leader and listened to Mclean Bible Church’s sermon of the day in regards to the power of grace. The summary of the refugee’s story was pretty amazing. He shared how he was a missionary to North Korea but was detained because they found a usb of the people praying and worshiping. He was sent to concentration camps and lost 15lbs in 3 months. He was eaten alive by mosquitoes and was mocked by the North Koreans as they asked “ Why isn’t your God saving you?”. He responded asking “ Why are you curious about our God”. He was able to share the gospel to them and because of his compliance and God’s provision, he was released few years ago. Another huge fact, ever since Kim Jong-un’s reign, normally there are about 2,000 people who escape North Korea annually, but lately it’s been 200. Also those in Pyongyang which is one of more well off areas of North Korea have been dying since Kim Jong-un declared a state of conservation and so people have been dying of starvation.

After service, we had an orientation with our team and did a mini introduction. Again, it is bit slower since there needs to be translation done so it is something that I have to grow in my patience and hopefully use this opportunity to improve my korean. Majority of our team are in their early 20s and 3 including myself are Korean American. I believe I am the second oldest? There are 11 female and 2 male students. It was really encouraging to hear how God has brought each student to this particular program at a time like this and I am looking forward to what God would restore, reveal, and renew in each of our lives. 

After orientation since we felt so sluggish, we decided to do a 20minute zumba class. It felt good to move around and we had so much fun. It’s hilarious when there any gyrating or hip movements that my roomies get so shy about. After a cold shower since our water is still not working, we ate ramen for dinner since the pasta was too salty again. It was a shame since it tasted pretty good besides the saltiness. We were gifted by our staff with treats and blood oranges. Wow fruit here is insane and my roomies took so many pictures lol. They are growing on me quickly and are so cute.

I reached my goal! Praise God. What an experience to see how God used each and everyone of them to help and support me. I understand that giving is not out of obligation but out of obedience to God. I’m encouraged by my non-christian friends too who have such generous hearts. The last person to donate that matched perfectly to what I needed to reach my goal was someone whom I’ve never met and did DTS but found my facebook. So crazy. Thank you for everyone who has supported and I am encouraged by this act of faith and obedience<3.

Hello! I just saw your reblog post that the interviewer in Klaine Explained bts vid was Leanne, not Mia. Wow, I didn't know that. How come most of the fandom think it's M? I remember that some fans even thanked and applauded M for being so generous and big-hearted for giving us this bts, and also 5x15 & 5x20 bts featuring C & D, despite the hate she got from CC shippers.

Hi! I honestly don’t know why they pretend it’s her, or think so. For me, here are a few reasons that might be why: 

1) M pretended she was the only woman who worked on BTS or had the most pivotal role. Leanne to my knowledge didn’t make a big deal. So everyone just assumed it was M and the gif set, without the correction, was seen to be ‘evidence’ to prove this.

2) The creator of the gif set or M fans were the only ones who assumed it was her because their queen does everything and didn’t bother doing research. Because they say it was her, most people assume it is because they either don’t care enough to do the research on bTS and only watched that one, or they believed them bc they’re more ‘trustworthy’ than us because their ship is ‘canon’

3) Because M bragged about how she’s the one responsible for all the beautiful CC bts (even though there were only about… three or four interviews? And C wasn’t in many of them…) so people didn’t see why she’d be lying. Especially her fans. But let’s ignore the time she screeched at us all when she shamed us all for her Cory comment. Which she only acknowledged when someone who praised her on Twitter was made aware of her trashiness and the comment she made and, as a result,  she lost her publicity for her trash band. Bitch still hasn’t apologised for the hurt she’s caused btw.

4) The M fans / M&D shippers know it’s not M. They know C & M hate each other. But they lie and pretend that it’s M in that interview because she took credit for the one that was postponed. Most people won’t care enough to correct them and because the one’s that will are CC shippers? Well, we’ll be dismissed as ‘crazy’ and pushing an agenda if we say it’s not her! Remember, these people also tried to dismiss the look of utter contempt on C’s face when she was talking to D as ‘it’s his resting face’. Now, C does have a resting bitch face, he can look angrier than he really is. But that wasn’t RBF. That was his own contempt for her. They also deny the fact that M was incredibly condescending towards C when he didn’t want to be interviewed by him and waved it off as ‘her giving him cute nicknames’ and ‘proof’ they’re super close. Especially because she went to SBL (funny how she wasn’t in any of the photos with him, especially when multiple accounts say her ‘BF’ spent the whole night with C). They use all these tiny bits of evidence to ‘prove’ we’re wrong. Because if they admit we’re right about C & M hating each other… what else are we right about? Now, I’m not saying we’re right about everything. I think we know less than we actually think we do (don’t kill me for this lol). But they always feel insecure about things like this and always try to prove us wrong rather than going ‘yeah they hate each other but that isn’t proof M & D aren’t dating’. 

Personally, I feel it’s mostly three but the other potential reasons are mixed in with it. I think it’s mostly M’s fault because she knows what her fans are like/ She uses them to push an image she wants them to see about her and the people around her. Another reason might also be that M let her laugh be heard in the background often and bc Leanne spoke, the assumed it was her right off the bat considering the rest of the BTS people didn’t normally allow themselves to be heard.

Now, I’m not saying this is true - in fact, I’ll probably be off point on alot of this, but this is just my personal opinion on why this is!

Love and Theft 7/5/18

Jen and I traveled to Block Island to go to a country fest being held at a hotel bc LNT were headlining it. I’d never been to Block Island and it was a bitch trying to get tickets for a reasonable time on the ferry (their website is shit and wouldn’t load lol) but we did and the drive and ferry ride were actually pretty enjoyable. I wasn’t sure what to expect bc the show was literally on the beach and I’d never been to a show like that before. It actually wasn’t too bad and honestly was one of my favorite concert experiences.

The first two artists were more local country acts but they were amazing and fun to watch and listen to. It wasn’t boring waiting hours for LNT to go on like it sometimes is. I’m a genuine fan now of the first artist, Wildee. She sang three Marin Morris covers and I was not at all mad about it haha. She noticed me singing along to them and when she sang “Rich” during the second chorus she held her mic out to me to sing lmfao. I did it. Which isn’t usually like me. But I was having so much fun I gave zero fucks.

When LNT came out, we were right in front of Stephen. He immediately noticed my LNT shirt and was like “Heyyyy I like your shirt!” 

They sang Can’t Wait for the Weekend, Runnin’ Out of Air, Dust on the Bottle, Candyland, Whiskey on my Breath, Fishin’ in the Dark (w/ Fish & Drift Away), Let’s Get Drunk & Make Friends, Need to Breathe, If You Ever Get Lonely, Runaway, Night That You’ll Never Forget, Amen, Free Fallin’, Tan Lines, Wrong Baby Wrong, Give Me Tonight, Midnight Rider, You Didn’t Want Me, & Angel Eyes.

As per tradition Stephen took lots of selfies during IYEGL, and took my phone first. The last time he did that the lighting was awful so this time I actually have nice pics yay. Also I had told Jen before the show that I would be disappointed if they didn’t play Tan Lines bc duh it was the perfect setting for that song so I was pumped af that it was on the setlist. Stephen also seemed pleased that I was singing along bc I think I was the only one who was for that song hahaha. During Angel Eyes they let some people onstage and some lady pulled Jen up there so she got to be onstage and dance during that song which was awesome. Someone at some point threw a bag of mystery alcohol in a bag up onstage near Stephen and he took it and was like “What is this?? Do you want me to drink it???” and after a minute of contempation he FUCKING DRANK FROM IT and apparently it was “room temperature white wine. yum...” Also Jen and I just danced around and made up our own stupid moves and just had the most fun ever without a care in the world and it was excellent.

When the show ended the guys took pics and signed stuff from the stage but we didn’t want to be part of that mess. We weren’t sure if we’d get to meet them at all bc it wasn’t really one of their shows, even though they were headlining, plus we had to make it to the ferry to get home (there was only one more ride back after the show or else we’d be stranded) so I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that we wouldn’t get to talk to them. But we decided to wait for a bit by the side of the stage where we knew they’d have to leave and see if we could get them to stop for like two seconds. Eric came offstage first and started talking to some people (friends of his I think), so he ended up walking near where we were. This little girl whose birthday it was who was next to us the whole show walked over and we let her go in front of us to wait to talk to him. I told her LNT give really great hugs and Jen was like yeah! and you should tell them it’s your birthday, you’ll get an even BETTER hug and the little girl looked so happy. She was so stinking cute. The people Eric was talking to let her (and us) go up to him (they were v nice), and Eric hugged the little girl and had the biggest smile while talking to her and it was adorable.

I went up to him next and he started to hold his hand out for a handshake and once I started shaking his hand he like, really looked at me and recognized me and was like “HEY!!! It’s good to see you!” and we started talking a bit. He took a selfie of us - I asked if we could do something funny and he was all for it but since it was a selfie my original idea didn’t really work so he improvised my initial thought into using my head as a headrest which basically just meant he put his head on top of mine and then made a funnyish expression. And Stephen snuck into the photo which I didn’t realize until afterwards lmao. Not mad about that pic at all. I got a pic with Stephen in which he faced us directly into the sun which was fine for him bc he had sunglasses and a hat on but I didn’t so LOL THANKS SBL I appreciate the blindness lol. I kept talking to Eric after that, he mentioned that the shirt I had on was his favorite design they’d done (Stephen said something similar) and I agreed - it’s a gray shirt with a boat and fishing gear with red lettering and idk it just looks nice. I told Eric it was one of my faves too. I also asked him when they’d sell sweatpants and joked that I knew it was the wrong season to ask. He laughed but then started to actually think about it and was like ‘Oh, actually, I’m pretty sure we’ll have them later this year starting in late fall’ or something along those lines. He said almost the same thing a year ago but I actually believe him more this time haha. I also told him they always have the comfiest merch and he got this shy sort of smile and was like “aw, thank you. We try our best to put out good quality stuff.” 

After that Jen and I walked back towards the ferry, killed a little time in a store, and got in line for way too long to make sure we were able to get on. We took the traditional ferry there and back (cheaper, more spots), and the last ride was like ten minutes after the hi speed ferry, so the two ferries had lines forming at the same time. Sure enough, as we’re standing in our line, I see Eric in the hi speed line. Once we got on our ferry, we could see the hi speed ferry through our window and joke “wouldn’t it be funny it the guys sat outside right there where we could see them that would be fuckin hilarious” and SURE ENOUGH I see Stephen in his TB Lightning hat sitting outside on the ferry and idk it was just the perfect amusing way to end the day.
