SO CONTEXT ABOUT THE " Lobotomize Laito "

Laito's whole Lost Eden route is him not being able to cope with him gaining KarlHeinz powers and in Laito fashion, he chooses to pretend that he doesn't have them. But he has to step up and use them so he tries to get rid of everything by killing all his brothers, but then Ayato jumps in like

" HEY WE ALL CARE ABOUT YOU! " and Laito's like " wait really? Shit now I feel bad, im just gonna "

* fires out his powers in a mental. breakdown*

And then he struggles the rest route of trying to accept his family and to fully trust Yui because he loves her. BUT LONG STORY SHORT he eventually decides it's simply impossible for him to change unless he is " reborn "

TW this plot is so stupid

So Kino attacks the Sakamakis so he can take Laitos powers and Laito basically waits at the World tree in Eden so Kino can kill him because he wants to die Yada Yada Yada. Kino takes Yui with him and Laito asks her to kill him, so she does. But instead of Kino inheriting the powers, they are absorbed by the world tree and Kino Dies.

So Laito is basically reborn by the world tree, with his powers but without his trauma? Or with the ability to fully love now. I'm not actually sure if he looses his memories or if he still has them but either way the result is Laito 2.0 who BTW acts LITERALLY THE SAME WAY but he's " Better " ?? I guess? They just fixed him.

It is so DUMB like the solution was " uhhh just make him die and come back fully healed and for the better but with the EXACT same personality "

Lost Eden has some of the most WACK endings, don't get me started on Ayatos where they pull this same thing of " Oh let's just fix this easy by rewinding time so nothing changed but Ayato is all healed now "

they also pull this " reborn " with Shuu in Yumas Lost Eden. Like FULLY reborn, from fetus. He gets absorbed by the tree and so the tree is basically having him in a egg as a fetus connected to the tree until he's born and grows up again essentially. And so Yuma and Yui are just standing by the tree like " Oh I can't wait till it's born, I hope the child is happy and healthy " LIKE YO THATS SHUU 😭😭
