And since there's some overlapping relevance, here's my birthday want list from a few months ago, which just happens to contain a little bit of DA fanart (all my dragon age wishes were indeed granted, thank you very kindly).

Where were you born? Vancouver, Canada

How do you feel about your legal name? Are you using it online and/or IRL? I’m fine with my name – and I definitely use it online. I don't think it's ideal, but I’ve never come up with a handle that I like enough to stick with.

How about your sign? Do you feel it "fits"? No, although my main associations come from people in high school reading me my horoscope out of Seventeen magazine, and it being something along the lines of, “girl, you’ve got the gift of the gab! You’re the life of every party!” Thank you, Seventeen, but wrong on all counts.

What's your earliest memory related to your birthday? My parents hosted a birthday party for me when I was maybe four or five years old, and as soon as the cake emerged and everyone started singing “Happy Birthday”, I buried my head under my arms and refused to come out. And when you think about it, having a bunch of people all staring at you and smiling and singing your name in unison IS, actually, very strange and uncomfortable...

What's one of the best gifts you've ever received? Every shiny that anyone has ever sent or given to me!

How about one of the best you've given yourself? I think that an excellent gift blueprint involves choosing a book that you like (and which you think the receiver might also like), and then collecting a few treats that might pair well with it and turning it all into a small care package. Example selection: your favourite fantasy book plus a box/batch of cookies plus a package of nice tea or coffee plus a stubby beeswax candle plus a random treasure object (nice stone or little animal figurine or dried flower, etc.) And in case I misinterpreted the question, I think it also works well as a gift to yourself. (I made a Patreon post that expanded on this a while back, so I'll link it here, too.)

What's your favourite cake flavour? Dark fruit cake! 2kg of raisins drowned and left to rot in sin.

How about your favourite flowers? All the common weedy wildflowers in my area, like yarrow and foxgloves. I also I stop to smell every rose I see. Personal best practice.

can you explain aplatonic and loveless please? Is loveless mostly a political commentary on amatonormativity, or is there more to it that I’m missing?

and aplatonic is when a person does not experience platonic attraction.

I should have a question regarding about cherry red crunch and blood. When price is mentioned why a staff Sargent AKA the reader father, was able to part the reader into the institutie at a very early stage of presenting as an Omega. Was it because the reader's father was threatened to give her up by his higher-ups or was there alternative motivate for reader taken from her family pack?

Mmm this one I can't say much about without spoiling a lot later on, but typically when omegas present, if they're going to be sent to an institute by their family pack (or whoever has guardianship over them as a pup) it's typically done very soon around the time of presentation. Like, usually the omega will go through the presentation process and then shortly after they'll be sent to an institution. We're talking like a week, maybe two max between presentation and being sent. It's a fairly quick process, but the fact that the reader got in so quickly...that's kind of where there's the big question mark. Especially such a prestigious institute as the one she was sent to.

That's about all I can give away at this point, but this is something that will come up later and pretty much everything will be explained in the fic since it's going to play a very important role in the story later on.

Are you ticklish? I was when I was a kid… I haven't really determined whether that's still true though. I truly fear it…

Favorite song?

This question is kind of tricky for me. I don't have good memory for what I'm obsessed with at various times and I go through repeating cycles of wearing stuff out. Sometimes I have many songs I like to think about and sometimes I have one thing, and recency bias is very strong. I also feel awkward about this sort of thing occasionally because I mostly do listen to soundtracks more than songs on their own, I'm not entirely sure what it is. Perhaps I just have stronger associations with them and an easier time finding new ones in this regard.

Here's a few songs that have been meaningful to me over time.

16 Tons - Tennessee Ernie Ford

A song I learned about because my parents talked about it so I looked it up as a teenager. It was originally written in the 40s by Merle Travis and based upon a sort of really horrible exploitation that doesn't exist anymore, but has a billion modern analogs that go back to the curse of having to live under capitalism. When I worked at Taco Bell I would just sing this all the time as a sort of bizarre mental rebellion. The feeling of working to solve a problem only to end up deeper in the hole is a particularly sickening one, even more unpleasant than working to accomplish absolutely nothing. And there's something about knowing that the problem exists because someone wants to keep you enslaved on purpose that's really poignant, the commentary about how even the realm of religion can't save you from debt really sticks in my mind. And it's quite catchy.

Frontier Psychiatrist - The Avalanches

I got really into this track after hearing it in a youtube series in high school. It was a band I'd never heard anything about and I found the sample collage nature of its design very curious, along with how the music video itself directly parodies the sample theme. At the time I was really into lolsorandom "acting crazy" and so this fit my vibes really well. There's something interesting about all the symbols and concepts thrown together in here. I don't think I'd say it has something particularly clear to say but it's just a weird construct that you can imagine all sorts of elements from. It makes me think of 20th century movie symbols and what psychiatry represents in the first place, how "craziness" doesn't even mean anything and a lot of people use it to refer to someone who isn't like them, etc ~ something about the idea of being constantly out of school being associated with being criminally insane made me curious. Also there's a few sexy people in it which also stuck in the mind as a teen lol. Anyway it was one of the first non-vgm songs I found on my own and really got into so it has a specific place in my soul. Can you think of anything that talks, other than a person?

Beggin' - Frankie Valli

Just like the previous, a track I found entirely through Youtube. I found cyriak's work really interesting and this music video interested me because of how thematically strange it is to go full cyriak mode with a song from this time, though of course this is an edit. Beggin' is a really modern feeling song, it doesn't feel like a 50s track to me even when you look up the original and I don't know what makes me feel that. Perhaps it's the basslines? Well, its a genre I don't normally talk all that much about, but his voice really is beautiful and you do kinda feel for the emotions here. Overall it's just catchy.

Man posting 3 songs mostly about men talking makes me feel kinda sexist. Hmm.

Lady Gaga - Judas

I listened to songs that I heard incidentally when Gaga was really big, like Bad Romance, but this one I first heard only years later. I don't feel much from the religious elements but I think the songwriting and singing is quite good, I'm also just a deep sucker for electronic groaning instruments and for strong percussion.

I Can't Break Away - Big Pig

Parents had a set of 80s music they remembered liking they'd play all the time and there were certain songs I liked a lot more than others I learned frm it. Really this is hitting a lot of the same feelings I get about Judas I guess, it's interesting to me musically, the singer's voice is incredible, and it has strong percussion. It's weird because I would say there's a lot of songs I have in this specific field of rotating "i could listen to this for days when it's my vibe, but I generally like it when I remember it exists"

Killing My Love - Leslie Parrish

Love Is In Danger - Priscilla

Weird deadlock here where I'm not sure which of these I should link and they're kind of both exactly the same in my mind. Like they're obviously different tracks but they're also very similar. Eurobeat you see is a really weird genre because it was made by a lot of the same people. One of these tracks is sung by Leslie Parrish, the other is by Priscilla, but in fact both of those are aliases used by a lady named Clara Moroni who I think basically comprises 50% of the genre by volume. She has at least 5 stage names lol. Anyway both of these songs are fun in their own ways, I think Killing My Love has higher highs and is overall a better song, but it also has some segments that I find rather more boring or even kinda bad, whereas Love Is In Danger is a little bit more restrained and so it doesn't have any truly dislike. Well, aside from maybe being repeatitive for too long, but we're talking about Eurobeat here. Anyway, it has fewer "oh hell yeah" moments by volume. Love Is In Danger 1:16 vocals are really particularly good, but it doesn't quite live up to THAT YOU'RE KILLING MY LOVE (AND IT WILL DESTROY ME) BUT YOU'RE KILLING MY LOVE (MOST DISAPPOINTING…) A DREAM LASTS FOREVER IF WE DREAM TOGETHER I DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE IN LOVE ANYMORE

I think the way vocalists sound in Eurobeat is what fairies and elves would sound like.

YOU GET TO BURNING - Yumi Matsuzawa

Yeah it's an anime opening but I really like it. One of the first Japanese songs I memorized. I really really like the low hit at 0:07.

Funkier Than A Mosquito's Tweeter - Nana Simone

There is more or less an infinite amount of funk music from the 60s and 70s that happens to be the source of basically every single drum track sample ever used. It's incredible. It's not 100% my style but it's really good music at specific times. Even if I don't listen to it all that much I have absolute and utter respect for the field. The first two minutes are okay but this track really activates at 1:55 when the drumline diversifies and starts having a lot of fun. I learned about this song from a giant samples collection I had that specifically borrowed the segment from 2:46 on, so that rhythm is permanently welded into a part of my brain. Music was just kinda done different back then idk.

Chocolate Rain - Tay Zonday A really old meme, right? But like, I don't think it would have become a meme if it wasn't also an interesting song on its own. I had to look back at it years later with actual life experience to realize how evocative the lyrics actually are. I legitimately like the backbeat, his voice is extremely good… it's not perfect, it's super samey but like. It's a song a random dude made and put online that became an early meme and yet also it's got a lot to be interested in. Isn't that interesting?

Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me When I went to school at the University of Texas I would constantly eat at the Wendy's in one of the buildings and this song was on their loop so I would CONSTANTLY hear this track and it became an injoke for me. It kinda made it stick with me though, and I came to really enjoy it. Like the others the unusual music video kinda elevates it in my memory, which makes me enjoy it more. You know that I like eye motifs and think a lot about mental illness, paranoia, etc… and, hey, it's got weird electronic stuff and fun vocals, what can I say? I wonder who's watching me now? INKA DINKA SLIME Look I can't explain this one. You take a fairly decent Lil Nas X song, combine it with a not very good DKC cartoon song and a set of other YTPs, and add a completely fucking unhinged sentence mixing RAP SEGMENT at the end. The author actually WROTE KINDA REAL LYRICS for Bluster Kong here that are like completely unintelligible but impress me for the sheer dedication to genre and character writing. This is like laser focused to produce a track specifically designed to give me brain damage, a song that particularly stands out in an album I otherwise find mediocre 90% of the time. There's a fucking zaboomafoo reference in one of these lines! An NFTs joke! What's going on?! Also I love the play energy of the final quote. Thought I'd end with that one for the sake of it.

But yeah idk I guess I went overboard. As I said what I like changes a lot over time so who knows what's really something I can say I like or dislike.

Favorite movie?

Oh god I got so into the previous segment I forgot to do this one. Ummm. Alright I'll just rapidfire stuff I like. I don't watch movies all that often! Patlabor 2 - Legitimately quite evocative and dramatic movie, incredible designs, writing, and energy, also one of those films you can watch knowing nothing about the series at all and still get a lot out of. Huge recommend. The tunnel scene is peak cinematic mecha fight. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind - It's good in like every way, to me. But of course, it kind of defined a lot of my personality, so that's only to be expected. I don't know what I can really say about it, except that there's something about it that Ghibli never quite recaptured afterwards for me. Even if I like their films. Princess Mononoke is extremely good though, and Kiki's Delivery Service is great too. The Matrix Reloaded - I love the overall vibes more than its partners in the series, it hits an interesting middle ground between goofy wu xia and crazy sci fi. I don't think you could follow up the Matrix by doing what it did, so I think going all in like this was a good idea. Watership Down - This movie I'm including because I think that the scene where the survivor recounts the massacre of the rabbits at the colony when it's destroyed is one of the most terrifying in any movie. Stuff I just liked: Coraline. House (1977), the Animated The Hobbit, Alien, Young Frankenstein, Airplane!, District 9, The Incredibles, The Sword in the Stone, MIB, Them!, Inception, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Shrek 2, Spider-Verse, The Wizard of Oz, Dr Strangelove, The Russians are Coming, Robot Carnival, Dark Star, Animal Crackers, eh I'm running out of ideas and should go to bed. That's probably enough.

♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP I was going to add a sub plot where Jason was going to have to deal with an asshole of a higher up that Natasha was training who was bullying him. Though I scrapped it because it didn't fit with the flow of the story beats I have planned and it's just not very interesting tbh.

10 The longest amount of time I let a draft rest before finishing

Oh months!!!! Many many month! Sometimes I finish but feel like something is missing or I'm just really not happy with it and then I come back to it and often find myself thinking 'that's not so bad actually, what was my problem?'

The longest might have been my Trolls 3 One Shot. I had that finished almost immediately after the movie came out but I couldn't think of a way to end it. Came back to it like 5 months later and added 5 sentences and boom. Finished.

Hah yeah! I do that all the time on the train. I just make the font reaaaaaally small and turn down the brightness on my phone and off I go. If I couldn't write on the train I wouldn't get nearly as much done

She definitely gets fridgety after a while. If waiting sitting on a chair, she’ll constantly shift her position or bounce her legs.

She has none of that. But had the outbreak not happened she probably would have gotten some tattoos. She’s the type for that.

CUT & CLOTHES - night: What does your OC wear to sleep? Do they have a favorite pair of PJs, or are they more the birthday suit type?

Pre-outbreak she'd wear PJ shorts and a camisole in the summers or a warm overall in the winters. Now she sleeps in her clothes so in case something happens, she can leave in practical clothes.

outerwear: What's your OC's outerwear situation? Jacket, sweater, cloak? What sort of weather do they deal with most and how do they protect themselves?

She prefers leather jackets and denim jackets because they’re harder to bite through. Gwendolyn avoids clothes that can easily get caught in a fight with the dead, so anything too loose is off the table. Most of the time the weather isn’t too crazy, but she will always seek shelter ASAP if a storm is coming.

footwear: What does your OC wear on their feet?

Combat boots, hiking boots, running shoes. Anything that is suitable when you have to walk a lot. Before the apocalypse she sometimes wore heels, but she isn’t gonna wear those anymore.

arms: Does your OC have any weapons? What weapons do they carry, and how do they wear them when they're not fighting?

She always has weapons on her. They’re crucial. She has two knives, a pistol and shotgun on her. The shotgun she wears slung over her shoulder with a tactical sling and her knife and pistol are holstered. A back-up knife in a boot sheath in case she ever gets her stuff stolen and needs to defend herself.

She wears a paracord bracelet someone from her old group gifted her. If she ever needs some cord she can unravel it.

Most of the time she wears her hair tied back so it doesn’t get in the way.

8. About someone I think is cute - Cutest person in my life right now is my sister's three year-old niece. She is such an adorable little goober. She has the habit of staring full in the face when she doing something she knows she shouldn't be doing, like she daring you to stop her lol. A really sweet kid.

12. About my parents - My parents are doing fine. They're have their squabbles every now and then, but much less than in the past. I think they've finally understand each other's idiosyncrasies. Took them 30 something years of marriage but at least they finally did it.

16. Something I like about my personality - This is something that I hadn't noticed until recently, but I'm a very approachable person. People find it very easy to talk to me about things, and often comment on how comfortable they are around me. I don't know if this is a new development or is something I never paid attention to because I was too down on myself.

24. An unusual talent I have - I am very good a reading something and the rewriting it with completely different wording and phrasing. I once saved a group presentation by researching and rewriting our powerpoint while the other groups were presenting, and got us the second highest mark in the class. Really proud of that one.

4) What is my favorite book?

This is a surprisingly hard question. It's been too long since I've read anything. At least anything that weren't papers for school. The Unspoken Name by A.K. Larkwood is the first thing that popped in my mind. I really wish I could say something cooler.

5) What is something I'm insecure about?

There is a lot of shit I'm insecure about. I think one of the major things is my weight because my family used to remind me I needed to lose weight and it kind of embedded itself in my mind.
