Hey guys I'm just gonna pop back up from the dead for a second here. I've been working on a lot of REALLY BIG art pieces lately and because of that I haven't been posting a lot of art lately.

Today I just finished one of those really big projects and that was a commission from one of my friends who asked me to draw Trazyn the Infinite from Warhammer 40K. This took a really long time to draw but I'm super proud of how it turned out.

Had a hell of a time with this one. On the bright side, my nightmare brain decided to finally provide me with some decent plot points, and I'll eventually be working on very basic ref sheets for the next few characters (no more expression sheets bc they take forever :p) ... As soon as i can fully wrangle the Final Space AU.

I have also decided I'm calling this the Paradise Lost AU. I don't quite think it fits but that was what I ended up calling the playlist i made for it since that was the first song I put on there, and it's kinda just stuck in my brain that way. Only thing that sucks is now I actually have to outline it bc the plot is still a huge mess, but it's not leaving my head. So we're gonna have a go at it here soon😔🤞

In any case time for some headcannon nonsense.

If Stardew Valley were to have a box legendary I think it would be Cresselia. It's literally Lunar pokemon and represents the crescent moon so it being the patron legendary of Stardew Valley just makes a lot of sense to me. Also Cresselia is underrated NSNDN.

Maybe there would be a secret special encounter for Darkrai. (the other half of it and Cresselia's duo but is a mythical for some reason?)

Also the Lunar wing would be very neat item to have in-game ANSNDND.

If it were to exist within the mod I imagine the farmer would be like "oooo shiny feather. Maybe it's a pokemon feather? Emmet/Ingo would probably like it :D" so then they make it into a necklace, or maybe just give it to one of them outright without knowing what it is. So Emmet/Ingo sees it and just starts freaking the hell out cause their crush/friend just gave them a piece of a literal legendary pokemon meanwhile the farmer is just....clueless NSNDND.

Now onto some of the other characters.

As basically the resident nurse joy of Pelican Town I think Harvey would have some pokemon common in the medical field. Though, pokemon like Chansey and Audino don't really fit his whole "whiskey neat, coffee black, bed at three"/ref vibes so I thought Indeedee would be best NSNDNND.

I also decided to give some pokemon to the characters mentioned within my ask.

Willy is very fond of water types, clearly NSNS. Specifically fish pokemon like Lanturn, Seaking, Whiscash, Wishiwashi, or Dondozo. (Though his actual team probably has a good chunk of pokemon that are still water type just not fish lmao) The crowning jewel of his collection is a shiny Magikarp he fished up. Maybe one day it will evolve, but for now it just swims around the docks next to his house entertaining anyone that visits.

He also has a Bibarel. (which I imagine is the grown up version of that one Bidoof that snuck into Pelican Town) It acts more like an overgrown housecat than a battle ready pokemon but it is incredibly bulky so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯.

Morris also has a few pokemon of his own. Most of which he keeps at home. But his main two he's seen with is a Gimmighoul and a Gumshoos. (IDK he just has Gumshoos vibes to me NSNDNND) They run around Joja pickpocketing people's gold cause Morris is just a dick like that.

Wizard likes psychic types, but I like to think he also has a fondness for fairy types too. Also, most of em has at least one strong fire type move just so he has an excuse to yell "fireball" and blast something NSND. His Malamar is named Illithid (a wack squid monster guy from DnD lol)

Sandy likes rock types, given that she lives in a desert it's probably the only type of pokemon she sees on the daily lol. She also has a key stone on her earring. With how colorful a keystone is when compared to sand I think she would be the most likely to find one there. Idk exactly if she'd mega evolve an Aerodactyl or a Tyranitar, if any pokemon at all. But I think she'd carry it around regardless. It's pretty :]

Also she has a shiny Rockruff. I don't rly have an explanation for that one I think it just fits the vibe lol.

And now, shenanigans.

Emmet then proceeds to grab the child and just.... speed walk away HSBBDBDJJR.

That's all I have for now, I'll probably throw some other pokemon at the bachelorettes and other bachelors another time but this alone took a solid week due to finals 😭/lh

But I just wanted to say that ROTTMNT has impacted my art style, my interests, who my friends are, and my life in general over the past years so much, and wanted to get all my thoughts out there. This is my first time making a post like this and I can’t deny it makes me a bit nervous. I just got out of a long, four month burnout/art block after years of creating things practically nonstop. It’s actually why this post is pretty scribbly and simple, since part of my recovery from that is letting myself be less of a perfectionist when it comes to things like line art. I want to keep making rottmnt content, but I also have a lot of other interests and art I want to start posting on here. Thank you to everyone who’s been supportive and patient. 💜

OKAY HERE'S MY CYNTHIA BATTLE FROM LAST NIGHT!!! i actually recorded it with my cap card and then put some subtitle commentary on it. i managed to do the entire battle in just under 10 minutes so it would fit on tumblr though i did have to make the file crunchy as fuck/low quality LOL. instead of typing out everything here you can just watch the battle happen. here's my team for context (i took these photos after beating her):

i did not record the E4 nor am i gonna talk about it much because it was honestly 10x easier than cynthia and not that interesting. i solo'd flint with my lumineon and i solo'd lucian with my scizor, and bertha/aaron weren't much better.

a few notes about the team though:

i wasn't thinking ahead to specific strategies to beat the E4/cynthia, i just picked movesets i thought were generally good and was like "i'll figure it out when i get there"

as a reminder scizor has technician which boosts the power of moves 60 base power or less, which is why i'm using shit like bug bite lmao

lumineon has ominous wind over attract literally just bc i wanted to use my stockpile of shards on a move tutor move SOMEWHERE on the team and the idea of her getting an omniboost in a fight was objectively funny (though it didn't happen during this run rip)

i picked thunder on clefable over blizzard because of the potential synergy with rain dance (zoom lens doesn't make either 100% accurate but rain makes thunder always hit) however i brought a blizzard TM along in case i needed to change my mind midway. i did not end up having to

return is on luxray just because luxray's movepool sucks and i think it's cute for my pseudo starter to have Return on it

sucker punch's priority ended up being ESSENTIAL to the cynthia fight and i'm very glad i delayed murkrow's evolution until level 45 for it. i actually didn't change pepper's moveset at all before the e4, she's the only one who received no changes

the shiny golem named dandelion is from my qpp gold :] he traded it to me at level 7. i spent nearly 2 hours grinding her to level 50 and used her on the team and did not tell him. i sent him the battle video and the first he was aware of this was when he saw her use explosion LMAO (i plan to use my hippowdon on future runs of the E4!)

BUT YEAH!! YAY WOO

75 hours... very little of that was idling i just really spent that damn long on this game huh.... sdfkdfsksd

i'm pretty much wrapped up here, i intend to use this save as my main platinum save moving forward but i think the liveposts can come to a close now. i may post about me catching the lake trio but that's about it. Hi there! I've seen your gifs around before and liked/reblogged plenty, but now that I'm actually starting to make more gifs myself, I'm even MORE impressed by the gorgeous quality of yours. I have a MILLION questions, such as: What are your secrets? What program do you use? How do you keep them looking so un-pixelated? How do you get them to retain such high quality even after tumblr processes them???? Do you know witchcraft? You don't have to answer, but you have my undying admiration!

oh dear, i'm so sorry this reply is so late! wow, thank you so much for this sweet ask! i really appreciate it - i work hard on those silly little gifs! 🥺 i'll do my best to answer:

i use Photoshop 2023 (🏴‍☠️)

i've downloaded all the episodes (🏴‍☠️) at a decent resolution - at least 1080p, though I'm sure you could get some really spectacular gifs if you splurged on the super HD ones. i just didn't care enough to have such big files on my computer!

i use VLC to open the video file, then use the record feature to clip the section I want to gif. the import feature on photoshop can be a little fiddly, so I typically give myself a few buffer seconds at the beginning and end of each video to make sure I got what I wanted.

i was about to start typing up a guide here, then I realized I'd already written down my gif method for a friend here! feel free to check it out! It's the Video Frames to Layers > Timeline > Smart Object method which I think is the most popular with most gifmakers these days, so most modern tumblr gif tutorials should line up with it if you need to reference another guide.

make sure to correctly resize your gifs! full-width gifs should be 540 px. check here for more resolutions if you're doing a full photoset. if you make your gif too large or too small, it will look either blurry or crunchy.

if you are brand new to gif making, your first few gifs will probably be bad. this is okay and totally normal! it'll get easier and faster with time just like anything else!

hello! hope you are well! this might be a little weird but i noticed you made such great 540x gifs from low quality footage at zaalima. i am not really a giffer but my fave film doesn't have any content on tumblr thus i wanted to try my hand at making gifs. do you have any advice on how to make 540x gifs that look good from low quality footage? thanks in advance!

Honestly my main trick for making low-res footage look better is to duplicate the gif after sharpening, use Gaussian Blur at 1.5 and then set the opacity to 45%.

The blur adds a soft glow and smooths out the rough edges that sharpening gives 720p- footage:

Also coloring can affect the quality. I find that "natural" coloring works best, where vibrant colors tend to bring out the crunchy pixels. See here how it's more noticeable, especially in the background:

(this is just personal preference of course, color however you wish!)

In terms of gif size, 540x300 looks the best but you can get away with 540x360 too (like I have here)

Sadly we don't have too many items so the outifts don't look the best considering all ingame options but I think they still represent the characters well!!

Another piece with the S2!design since it's so much scrunklier and cuter than the one from my AU xD Though, I'm sure that Ratbur would cuddle with him no matter the cuteness- looks don't matter in the end, only the % of scrunkly in one does.

may i ask how do you make your gifs with so much quality? I love your gifs so much.

there are a few things that can up your gif quality

the biggest is just using high quality video's, if you only have it in 720p its gonna be hard to make it look HD

I record in 1920 x 1080 w 60 fps so my recording quality is high and gets a lot of frames

my sharpening settings are imo pretty good and work well for getting it all nice and crunchy

upping your blacks and whites makes the contrast higher and so is read as higher quality

knowing the sizes tumblr accepts and works best with

the length of the gif so you can export in bigger sizes
