Movie or TV show I enjoy? I have a lot of movies and some TV shows that I enjoy so I will list my 3 movies and TV shows that I enjoy the most.

3 movies that I enjoy the most:

Ultraman Rising is a really good movie. I love the animation style and character development of Kenji Sato. My Dad used to watch the old Ultraman as a kid. We still have the DVDs.

Transformers One is peak movie. The character development and writing are peak, especially the memes such as The age of hungry has ended meme.

Five Nights at Freddy's movie is also a really good movie. I like the interaction between Mike and Abby. I also like the fortress scene because it shows that the animatronics are still kids. As a veteran fan, I was happy when I heard The Living Tombstone's FNaF 1 fan song play in the credits.

3 TV Shows that I enjoy the most:

Transformers Animated has a special place in my heart because it reminds me of my childhood and my family.

Regular Show has funny moments to laugh at, especially when Muscle Man does his signature scream.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica also has a special place in my heart because it shows that hope can overcome despair.

So that's that.

Just to let you know, I will leave the critical community on January 8th because of college and for my mental wellbeing since I wasn't doing well after I heard what happened to Shay and two Charlastor fans.

Osomatsu’s first reaction will be something like.. “..huh.. HUH.. WHAT-“ at first he will think that you are joking, but after he saw Ichimatsu-cat and was literally able to return from Hell, he really doubts . Once he has verified that it is true, he will be genuinely shocked and delighted. the first question he will ask is “so.. does that mean you.. like.. will transform into an anime girl in dresses and bows?” in fact, he is still in shock, having realized how little he knows about his younger siblings. but in fact, he is truly delighted. he would love to see you in a cute dress in the style of Sailor Moon or Madoka.

It’s impossible to explain in words how much Karamatsu admires you. Of course, at first he will deny that he just saw his little sister transform into a magical girl, but he will say something like

“✨✨✨heh.. our world is full of malice and injustice.. and I am happy to be the sensei of the protector of this ci-“

for which you will probably hit him on the head with a magic wand (or whatever you use) in the middle of his ballad.

so, are you going to look me in the eyes and then tell me that Choromatsu won't be crazy about you and won't be your number one fan? this guy is damn proud. he won't be able to believe that his little sister is the one he admired most in the anime. but if that happens, the first thing he'll probably do is faint or do a "SHHEEEEEEEE" pose. don’t be surprised if suddenly he starts begging you to see you in your magic dress.

Ichimatsu... somehow he doesn’t care? even if you are a real cruel witch, he still considers you a close person and favourite little sister. Of course he will be surprised, but doesn’t he himself have skeletons in his closet? Moreover, this guy in the dark alleys transforms into a cat, you are both in the same boat.

It's hard to tell what Jyushimatsu thinks. his first reaction would be cat eyes and a sleeve covering his mouth, his question would be “but can you still play baseball with me?” and if your answer satisfies him, he will return to his usual facial expression and continue to play with you as if nothing had happened. His reaction is the calmest, one might even say strange. The main thing for him is that you can still play with him and spend time.

Todomatsu is FUCKING surprised. It will take him several days to realize what he saw. but when he calms down, he will start crawling towards you, making cute eyes and acting like a cute big brother (don't trust that devil). Every time he sees you, he asks you to take a photo in your magical form so that he can show off you to beautiful girls. (HE'S FUCKING USING YOU, KICK THIS ASSHOLE'S ASS)

First off, welcome to the pmmm rp community!

I'm happy that you came to me because this moment gives me the chance to happily promote my lovely mutuals!

Neg from @heartbinders offers lovely versions of Homura and Madoka on their multi-muse blog as secondary muses. Neg's Shinji Ikari (from the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise) also has a pmmm verse, if you are interesting in writing with some non-canon pmmm characters. Overall, there are a lot of characters on Neg's blog. She is really friendly and passionate with each of her muses!

Next has to be the creative Ryn. She is a rather unique case because both of her blogs contain connections to pmmm world, which is something that I adore. First, I have to share her OC blog ( @wolfvirago ) because Robin is an amazing character. Naturally, Robin has a pmmm verse. However, there is also her multi-muse blog ( @shibemuses ) that offers a large amount of pmmm muses. There is Madoka, Sayaka, Homura, Mami, Nagisa, and even Kyubey. Isn't that wonderful? The best of both worlds! Of course, her multi-muse has other options beyond the pmmm world. (But make sure to still check out Robin, though! Original characters, even if they don't have a pmmm verse, deserve the world!)

Next has to be Kasy from @deathdanse, which is a side blog to her @misfxts blog. Kasy is another fascinating blog because her pmmm muse comes straight from the spin-off called Puella Magi Tart Magica. Now, if you don't know... Puella Magi Tart Magica follows the story of Tart, the very same historical person that would later become Joan of Arc. While Kasy does not roleplay Tart, she does roleplay a very fasinating character called Corbeau. She is both seen in the Puella Magi Tart Magica manga, but she did indeed get featured in the Magia Record app. Magia Record brought Puella Magi Tart Magica to life. Either way, read Puella Magi Tart Magica. It's a classic. More historical spin-offs should exist in the pmmm franchise.

What piece of art has made you cry the hardest?

Ended up being a really long one. Rest is below the cut, but I don't really cry all too much. It's really hard for me, I don't know why, but it is annoying. For most of these it's to the verge of tears, though Everything, Everywhere, All at Once got a Death of a Salesman type cry out of me.

In terms of Film:

When Marnie was There (2015), The Wind Rises (2016?), and Everything, Everywhere, All At Once (2022) all got me real close to crying. EEAAT specifically hit me really hard, because pointing at the screen Joy is just like me for realsies (she isn't but the story was something I sympathized with). When Marnie was There was a story that I think spoke to me somewhat when I was younger, but I didn't realize it, and I wasn't really prepared to process what it got me to feel. The Wind Rises is just about an artist fundamentally, though the framing is about the construction of the Zero, the film is adapted from a manga Miyazaki wrote, which was in turn based loosely on a series of dreams he had where a role model he had would visit him, and (to bring it back to point) it comes through in the film as Miyazaki thinking about how his career is coming to a close. That's what I think, at least.

Also, not crying, but I'm still thinking about Lawrence of Arabia (1963?). It's a film that stays on my mind and I'm not sure Why.

In terms of Television:

Puelli Madoka Magi Magica (2011-2011) I think yoinked the most tears out of the tear ducts. Themes surrounding the social contract, loss, and lesbianism + the USB-ification of a certain member of the cast early on really helped get me invested early so that seeing homura and madoka's actions in the final episodes + rebellion really hit hard. Idk stories about having to sacrifice memories really strike me in a specific way. For other TV shows, uhh MST3K probably got me rolling on the floor more than once. It's really good!

In terms of Video Games (if the LoC says they're art, they're art to me):

Disco Elysium (2019, 2021).

In terms of Music:

Windows 96's 100 Mornings has a very listless feel to it that really got me to cry a bunch when I was younger, though now it's more just listless and a sort of wall-staring component for me (cf. Boa's Duvet, or Gorillaz's Melancholy Hill)

Though uh what was it Jesus Beleibt Meine Freude? by Bach also got me staring at walls and ceilings largely because like, you know, the funny evangelion song, but it's been exorcised of all sadness by Mister Manticore's JESUSINVIETNAM. I would need to think hard, but Chernaya Noch, Hills of Manchuria, Gloomy Sunday, and probably a few others got me sad and crying at times. But I don't think I have much in terms of music to cry to.

In terms of painted works:

idk man, not much off the top of my head, sorry. Theres a lot of pretty art out there and the Romantics always sort of got that same wall-stare out of me as mentioned above. Emphasizing a hollowness I feel within myself

Character bingo! Kyoko from Madoka Magica?

Hi!! Thank you for the ask. I appreciate it a lot :3 Sorry for the delay.

YESS MADOKA MAGICA!!! It's been a long time since I talked about Madoka so I added some images for fun to the bingo!

I was a young teen when I first saw her character, so I saw her as very mean and ruthless when she first clashed with Sayaka (I was like 'wtf let Sayaka get the witches egg damn u') but over time I started to realise that she only did that because of her own broken ideals and previous knowledge and experience.

Kyoko knows what it's like to try and save someone without expecting anything in return, only for it to all then backfire onto them ridiculously, leaving the selfless person completely shattered and destroyed by the end. She may act crude and cold but she's genuinely caring. She a bit rough around the edges and very harsh and direct, but has a really kind heart in my opinion.

Kyoko's just doing what she can to survive; and yet... she still sticks her neck out for others- sometimes in very confusing ways, but I feel like her heart is in the right place.

Also she's a real fun kid! BUT SOMEONE PLEASE END HER SUFFERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE ONLY WISHED FOR HER FAMILY TO BE HAPPY!!!!!!! STOP PUNISHING HER LIKE THIS!

Kyoko taught me as a young teenager about how some ideals look sparkling on paper but how in execution they can be absolutely terrible, like the good intentions that lead to one's doom. That though being selfless can be cool, it's important to prioritise the self too. BUT THE WAY SHE GOES ABOUT TRYING TO GET THIS THROUGH TO SAYAKA AT FIRST LMAO SHES SO RUTHLESS! XDDD I mean Sayaka is a very passionate idealist so her approach well... I'm not surprised it didn't work out at first.

Funny thing though... it feels like beneath all her 'just focus on yourself' attitude she is still very selfless too... feels

WHEN I SKIMMED THROUGH SOME PARTS EARLIER, I SLID AGAINST THE DOOR (LITERALLY, TWICE). IT FELT LIKE I WAS READING SOME R-18 FIC NO JOKE. THANK GOODNESS MY FOLKS WERE TOO BUSY TO MIND ME GUSHING OVER YOUR REPORT.

My take based from the report:

● About third or half of the setlist was what I imagined it would be.

- Ongaku, Hikari no Senritsu are among their live favorites so I pretty much expected those.

- It makes sense that there are lots of anisongs, particularly from Madoka Magica and Fate Series.

- Putting Magia and Hikari Furu side-by-side FOR ENCORE was a bad idea. They were able to pull off Hikari Furu fo 10th anniversary but this live's setlist seems to have imbalance of energy distribution. Like they should have considered which songs can still be performed nicely despite their tired voices.

- I'm sad we didn't get Seventh Heaven. Just when I finally felt the song's charm

- FREAKING HAPPY TO GET HYAKKA RYOURAN

- About costumes: They look gorgeous alright, hands down. But I admit I was expecting a bit more of new or simplistic vibes, not simply making a light version(-ish) of their FOTW wardrobe. Their second outfit looks good too but the shade of Hikaru's blue dress is my most turn off. A bit of darker shade would have looked better on her imo.

- About vocals (based on report and others' comments): I feel sorry for Wakana, seriously. When I listened to some of her solo songs and lives, I can really sense how the demanding Kala-songs took toil on her voice. Vibratos getting shakey and instability in some intense parts (this was already obvious in the 10th anniv live). So think about what tremendous strength Wakana needed to perform those power songs again AFTER SEVEN YEARS. That's why I said the setlist was really giving energy imbalance. The latter half of the setlist is practically torture if you ask me.

And no wonder it tired Hikaru much quickly (a recurring mistake that I observed after repeatedly watching/listening to their lives). Among them three, Hikaru gets tired the fastest (for reasons, she's not into physical activities unlike the other two iirc). Upbeat Kala-songs make Hikaru the star of the performance, SHE CAN PULL LONG POWER NOTES TOO. As long as it's not in consecutive songs. Though sometimes she tends to overdo it like pouring too much of her energy at the beginning of the song (i.e. Mata Kaze in Red Moon live, Destination Unknown in Best Blue). But I also know she has adjusted her singing style because of her drastic voice change and thus making her Magia performances in later years much more powerful.

And speaking of power, of course we have Keiko. As previously stated, I've repeatedly watched/listened their lives and I must say, Keiko has the most stamina (she's into exercise alright) and vocal stability. Of course it's hard to dismiss but she is mostly singing as support, especially if the song's main vocal is Wakana or WakaHi (i.e. Hikari no Senritsu, KnGnN, Red Moon, etc.). BUT,,, I'm not saying Keiko's having it easy. SHE IS CONSTANTLY BACKING THE OTHER TWO. It also tires her that's why she sounds shouty or squeaky at times (Consolation in 9+ONE). She also needs to perform songs where she's the main or one of the main (To the Begining, Ongaku, Hoshi no Uta, etc.) in order for Hikaru and Wakana to recover energy. That's why it's also nice to have To the Beginning, Ongaku and Hyakka Ryouran in the setlist.

What I think that could have been done/improved:

- Arranging setlist in a way that would let the girls conserve their energy much easier, like mixing up some of the upbeat/power songs in the first half. For example, switching (Hikari Furu and Hanataba) , (Magia and Hanataba). The power songs shouldn't have been thrown and compressed in the latter half.

- Crossing out/ Limiting the difficult ones. I would have preferred if they didn't include Ring Your Bell, Lacrimosa and To the Beginning.

Ring Your Bell: I think this is the most toiling to Wakana's voice, much more than Hikari Furu.

Lacrimosa: This was recorded with Wakana's old singing style and so the song kinda clashes with her present singing style imo. Plus Kagayaku is much better choice because Hikaru also shares the vocal burden (sorry for the term).

To the Beginning: I like this song BUT this is such a hit-or-miss for Wakana, especially the "shinjite" part of chorus (i.e. Mezamashi 2016). It used to be somewhat of average difficulty, probably (AGAIN, IMO). But Wakana and sometimes even Keiko (bridge part) sound a bit strained.

- Lowering the key just like what they did for ARIA. This practice is quite uncommon for Japanese artists, always singing in the original key, if I'm not wrong. But I hope they'd come to see that there's no shame in doing so. That it's okay to compromise. Doing acoustic versions can also help.

I probably will edit this if other thoughts come to mind lololol.

Kalafina Anniversary Live 2025 Report

It's finally here, sorry for the long wait!! Let me share some overall thoughts first( ^_^)/~~~

Venue: Probably the newest and fanciest venue I‘ve ever been to. Loved all the screens with Kalafina visuals. They had them across the entire area, some bigger, some smaller and a really big one in front of the venue itself. The theater appeared to be a bit intimidating at first glance but I actually appreciated the layout, I feel like you got to have a pretty decent view from most places, even in the upper balconies.

Collaboration events: This one was somewhat of a fail for me. Originally, I wasn’t too impressed with most of the collaboration food but I was still eager to get it, especially the stuff that was wrapped nicely. The chocolates looked lovely but they were already sold out when I arrived at 11:00 on the 15th.🥲Was also planning to get the katsu sandwich in the Kalafina packaging but that was sold out as well. Not afraid to admit that I cried a little when I realised I woudn't be able to get them...I did get one of those gorgeous tray sheets at Taco Bell at least🙌 Managed to secure one of those tiny photo cards too but meh, honestly nothing to write home about. Gave me the opportunity to write something on the message board though so that’s a good thing 👍 The whole gacha situation was a challenge to say the least. So exhausting! I got a numbered ticket (#127) for the queue so I could start lining up at 13:30 (was actually one of the first people to enter). This worked out pretty smoothly and everyone was able to enter earlier than expected. At first I was lining up in the wrong queue because they were telling people they had to go through the on-site merch sale area first. Thankfully, a staff member came over and guided me and some others to the direct queue (after all, I wasn’t planning to buy any merch since I had already made my reservation). My first gacha round didn’t take too long since most people were still busy buying merch and there were a total of ten machines (also had prepared my 500 yen coins the day before so I didn't have to line up to change my money). I was moderately lucky but didn’t get some of the items I wanted🙃 So after I picked up my live goods during my assigned time slot, I got back in the queue to do a second gacha round😅. This time the wait was long, probably an hour or so. Also, 10,000 yen just gone☠️Thanks to @concretebadger and my super kind friend, I managed to get the complete set! BANZAI🤗 I also got two lovely tokutens for participating in the big flower stand project (a postcard and badge of the drawing). Almost didn't get to meet up with the organisers of the project but thankfully I ran into them right before the start of the show (generally, I find it fascinating how many people I managed to run into despite the sheer amount of people at the venue - thanks to everyone who said 'hi').

Seat: I really liked my seat and am glad I went for the balcony area. Had a completely unobstructed view of the stage🥰It was a little further away of course but I did bring my binoculars so it was fine.👍 In my vicinity people were thankfully not very keen to stand up all the time so I had one less thing to worry about. The screens on the side were also a perfect size to see their facial expressions. The people in charge of the projections made sure to include a lot of close-ups 😍 Bless them!

Sound: Maybe it was just my specific location towards the left side on the balcony but the sound system was a bit off I think, or possibly the manipulator did a horrible job with the mixing? How did everyone else feel about this? The background music was often overly loud (if not to say obnoxiously noisy) and drowned out the vocals. During some parts, it was honestly hard to hear the girls among all the other noises. It was much better during songs that had a more simple or acoustic arrangement. The microphones seemed to have some issues too at times because there were a few distortions (?) which made their voices sound different (?) and occasionally, you just couldn’t hear them singing the beginning of certain lines - this could theoretically be chalked up to them being hesitant and starting too quiet (Wakana does that at times) but it happened a little too often to all three of them which is why I‘m assuming there might have been some technical issues.

Vocals: What are seven years? Nothing! It was like no time had passed at all! Some people may disagree but for the most part, the girls sounded amazing to me! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and very rarely heard notes that made me cringe. I was amazed how they managed to just pick up where they left off. Of course there were parts that were less flattering and they had some of their usual hiccups but I feel like they handled everything pretty well. Have they done better and more polished live renditions of some of these songs in the past? Probably (tho there were some stand-out performances that impressed me more than their old versions). Overall, there was clearly a lot of effort and love put into each and every performance and at the end of the day, that's all that counts for me. They didn’t “phone-in” their singing, they put all their heart into it and you could tell. I even liked songs that I am usually not such a huge fan of (e.g. “ring your bell” and “ Alleluia”). Also, say what you will but there’s a huge contrast between the YKL Kalafina covers and the real thing, it’s almost jarring how different they sound so I particularly appreciated performances of the songs that had previously been covered at YKL. Needless to say, I much prefer the real thing! It's just not the same without Wakana and I must say, Wakana delivered solid vocals during most songs that required those super high and long notes. Hikaru also did a great job and sounded powerful throughout most of the setlist. She was getting visibly tired though towards the end of the up-beat section (Wakana on the other hand surprised me with her stamina). As for Keiko, do I even have to say it? She delivered a fabulous performance as one would expect from her. She nailed all her epic long notes (e.g. “Hyakka Ryouran”, “Kyrie”, “Hikaru Furu” - she sounded better than she did during the 10th Anniversary Live if you ask me)

Production & arrangement: Honestly nothing special or outstanding. They kept it simple and remained faithful to Kalafina’s usual M.O. The focus was on their voices and there wasn’t anything extravagant to distract from that. On the contrary, I feel like there was a conscious effort being made to include more acappella parts to highlight their harmony. With the exception of a few instrumentals and solos, I don’t think Satoshi Takebe added a lot of creative twists to change the original sound. He even mentioned in a tweet that he wanted to pay tribute to Yuki Kajiura’s work, stay true to her music/style and not make it his own or anything.

Atmosphere: 1000/10. The girls were in such a good mood and determined to make this concert the best experience ever. It really felt like they had never been apart. Their interactions with each other were heart-felt and didn’t come across as staged or forced. You could tell how much they missed performing together. The audience was also super responsive and everyone seemed to have the time of their lives (myself included of course).

Setlist: Admittedly, it wasn’t what I had hoped for but it was pretty much what I had expected from this sort of live so I can’t be mad. And there were a few really pleasant surprises that I didn’t think they would include (“Hanataba”, “Lacrimosa”, “Kyrie” and “Hyakka Ryouran”). Also beyond happy that they did an acoustic version of “sprinter” because that’s so much better than the studio version (which I typically don’t like). 1 oblivious: I knew it was coming and it’s usually not a song I’m particularly fond of but this performance may have been the best one I’ve ever heard (biased opinion but hey, you can’t blame me for that😅). The song kicked me right in the feels! Or maybe it was just like a dream come true to hear/see them together again! When they appeared on stage, they looked like angels. What a revelation to see them in all their glory once the sheer curtain was dropped. They sounded amazing, absolutely breathtaking! Was impressed by everyone’s vocals. Shout-out to Hikaru for her high notes! For a few lines in the beginning, Wakana didn’t quite sound like herself (the distortion I was talking about earlier?) but I am not sure if it was a lowered pitch or something the manipulator did on purpose to smooth out her voice. It sounded okay and wasn’t too distracting so I didn’t mind it. Later on, her voice sounded like it usually did during “oblivious” so maybe it was just a glitch or whatever. When Wakana and Keiko did their little back-and-forth duet thingy, I almost started crying because I had missed them so much. WaKei FOREVER 🤗

2 Kizuato: A bit bummed that they didn’t perform “Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaete Iku” (then again, I might have said so it was probably a good thing) but this was a beautiful performance so I can’t complain. The three of them once again sounded amazing and their harmonies were to die for.

3 Mirai: Typically one of their weaker live performances and this was no exception. But really, it’s about getting that connection with the audience, running around on stage, greeting the audience and having fun. I don’t mind if it’s not polished and I usually don’t even pay attention to that during this song.

4 Hikari no Senritsu: Felt a bit all over the place so I wasn’t quite able to get into it. The music was overbearing at times and it took away from the charm of a few individual lines. I expected to be touched by the performance since Keiko had been going on and on about how this was her favourite song to sing together but I didn’t have a particularly strong reaction to it. To be fair though, it has never been one of my favourite songs so that might have been the reason for my rather lukewarm reaction. An interesting cello solo from Masateru spiced things up a little but otherwise, there weren’t any significant changes.

5 storia: For this one, I always keep my expectations low regarding vocals because I know it’s a hit and miss when it comes to Wakana and Hikaru. It’s been like this forever so I’m not surprised to hear them struggling at times. Nevertheless, this is a song I have always enjoyed so I can easily look past minor issues. As expected, the girls did struggle a bit (Hikaru in particular didn't deliver the most flattering performance) but it was totally fine. That final chorus once again caught me right in the feels, especially the WaKei part🥹Both the YKL cover and Wakana's solo cover are still fresh in my mind so to finally hear the song as it is meant to be, feels like such a blessing.

6 ring your bell: The piano intro was a bit misleading and for a couple seconds there, I seriously thought they would be introducing a brand new song 😅 It was a nice touch though, I do enjoy intros like that (probably Takebe's idea). Surprisingly, I liked this performance more than I thought I would. I usually give this one a pass because I don't care for the unflattering vocals. I've never understood why it keeps getting performed when it is such a challenging song. But this time, I honestly enjoyed almost all of it (especially Wakana's parts at the end- she did a great job here). Those YK cover versions pale in comparison if you ask me.

7 Hanataba: What a surprise! 😮 Possibly one of their best (if not the best) performances of the night. Usually not a fan of the accordion but here I didn’t mind it. They made some minor changes to the arrangement to highlight the accordion and the vocals. The girls were on fire, especially Hikaru. You could tell she was happy that her chosen song made it onto the setlist.

8 Lacrimosa: From one surprise to another. I was actually expecting them to sing “Consolation” at this point because according to the previous MC, this was meant to be their “Consolation” album block. Would have been happier with “Consolation” to be honest but “Lacrimosa” was a nice treat too. The background music was quite loud again so some vocal parts weren’t discernible or got overshadowed by other stuff.

9 Manten: I don't remember much from it so it must not have stood out to me.

10 to the beginning: Never liked it but this time, I had a blast. A fantastic performance with so much energy and love put into it. The audience went crazy of course so that was also fun to watch. While I personally do not stand up for songs and categorically refuse to partake in any weird arm movements (clapping is the most I will do), I still think it's nice to see everyone so invested.

11 Kimi no Gin no Niwa with strings: This was beautiful. Just strings and piano. Quite a few more acappella lines than usual I think. Gorgeous arrangement.

12 sprinter with strings: What can I say? Perfect. No notes. Tears everywhere. So glad they decided to go for an acoustic version (by now we all know how much I dislike the studio version). It wasn't as emotional as that Arena Live encore performance but for me, it came pretty close.

13 Hyakka Ryouran: Became a big fan after the 10th Anniversary performance. Didn't expect them to include it once again in the setlist but I certainly didn't mind. This one was just as solid I would say although I feel like Keiko was actually a bit stronger here than she was back then, especially during her "yaiba".

14 misterioso: Meh, one of my least favourite Kala-songs but coincidentally, one of their most frequently performed tracks. I have always wondered why but I guess there are people who love it. Wasn't really into it so I don't remember anything significant.

15 One Light: Super happy about it. A perfect candidate for their up-beat corner and really a true banger. Don't think there has ever been a bad performance of this, they always slay. I believe they missed the mark a little on that moment where they all come together to raise their arms right before the climax. It felt a little rushed so the cameras for the screen didn't capture it properly XD (it was probably fine for those in the front rows who could see every detail up-close). Either way, the audience erupted into cheers when Hikaru did her infamous "yukeru" kneel.

16 Kyrie: Wooohoo, one of my favourite Kala-songs so I am always excited to hear it performed live. Certainly a surprise though because I didn't think it would be chosen for their Anniversary Live setlist. The audio was pretty messy during this one and I was sad to hear that Keiko's drawn out "Kyrie" at the end didn't get as much attention as it deserved.

17 Ongaku: It started out a little weird in a slightly different tempo than I am used to (at least I think so?). It was a minor thing but big enough to distract me a little for a minute or so. Keiko slayed though and Super!Wakana knocked it out of the park (loved how Keiko held her hand when she helped her walk up the stairs for the solo)

18 heavenly blue: A long-ass up-beat section comes to an end with another banger. After this one, Keiko even said that this was one of their most challenging corners they ever did. It's always fun when Keiko asks the audience after "Ongaku" if we can handle yet another up-beat song (of course we can!) and they transition right into either "Signal" or "heavenly blue" (pretty much their go-to songs for an epic ending). I do love "heavenly blue" so I am happy they included it. The background vocals during the bridge were a little too loud for my taste so you couldn't hear the girls properly (the bridge is one of my favourite parts of the song).

19 Alleluia: There was no doubt in my mind that they would either finish the main section or the entire concert with this song. Didn't expect to love the performance as much as I did. Usually not the biggest fan of the song since Wakana's parts are not particularly flattering for her and even Keiko tends to get a little shouty at times. But this time, I rally enjoyed the song and the minor issues didn't really register with me all that much. Guess I was just too deep into the emotions they were trying to convey.

En1 Magia: So glad they included this! I always thought it was a shame that it didn’t make it onto the 10th Anniversary setlist. We heard a lot of YK cover versions in the past couple of years (to a point where I was getting a little tired of the song) but this revived my love 😍 So good!! The guitar solo sounded weird to me and didn’t have a proper transition to Keiko’s bridge part but that might just be my personal perception. Maybe the guitar fans among you thought it was great😅Keiko’s solo also lacked a bit of oomph but I think it was her microphone’s fault 🙃Hikaru sounded a bit quiet too at times. Hopefully they can fix those minor issues with some studio magic before they do the TV broadcast.

En2 Hikari Furu: Another elaborate piano intro (different from the ones that Sakurada used to do) but this time it was pretty obvious they would sing "Hikari Furu". Sounded a little meh vocal-wise, certainly one of their messier live versions of the song and overall, one of the least enjoyable performances of the night for me. Lots of things came together here so I can’t put the blame on a single factor. For some reason, their voices wouldn’t blend well together and both Wa and Hi had a couple of screechy moments. Wakana sounded almost hoarse when she started singing (maybe she got a little emotional?) and at the end she had some very noticeable shaking during her long notes (I know she has that a lot for her solo stuff too but I didn’t really notice it all that much in other songs from that night but here it was hard to ignore). The background music was also quite loud during the climax of the song so it didn’t exactly help to make it sound better. Keiko delivered an awesome "mabushii asa" though.

En3 into the world: Perfect ending to be honest and again, nothing beats this, not even a YKL cover (although I will say that I enjoy those too). It was kinda bittersweet though. Obviously this song is about taking new paths, not knowing what lies ahead. And really, this is what we have to deal with right now.

At this point, the future is blurry, no one knows what will happen to Kalafina. The girls didn’t even hint at any possible future activities. There was just an endless amount of appreciation for the past and present. Every time one of them thanked the fans for patiently waiting for Kalafina’s return, I couldn’t help but tear up a little. Yes, the wait was rough and I am sure many people lost hope along the way but I personally always knew we'd see them back together again. And when Wakana straight up broke into tears during an MC (with Keiko comforting her and shielding her from the cameras), I cried like a baby (especially when Wakana cried even harder and made Keiko tear up too) 🥲 All the pent-up emotion just came to the surface. Hikaru on the other was determined not to cry throughout the whole concert. They are too precious for this world!! I really hope they don't cut this moment from the broadcast (but knowing them, they probably will). For the time-being, I’ll just follow Keiko’s advice and continue listening to Kalafina and love them🥰Who knows, maybe one day…? I'll never give up hope and I don't think the girls will either. While she didn't outright say it, Keiko couldn't help but utter a few hopeful words, more like a prayer actually, "叶うならまた~/And if my wish would come true, maybe [we can do this/sing together] again~" It was an amazing concert, I had the time of my life and will treasure those memories forever. Thank you Kalafina!!

Cannot wait for the TV broadcast to experience all of this again and to relive every little detail. I should have written the report right away (or taken some extensive notes) when my memories were still fresh but my schedule for the following days was simply too busy. Now I'm back home and fighting against a jet-lag so the finer details are escaping me T_T (I feel like I am getting a few things mixed up and don't even know which things happened in which MC)

Would you say Homura is a Kuudere? I'm currently planning on watching Madoka, for a handful of reasons, but one of them is because I'm looking for more examples of Kuuderes for my own writing! (And you seem like you know Madoka front and back)

hi anon!! sorry this is so late, but it makes me so incredibly happy that you reached out to me w/ a madoka question ♡ this series is so important to me and ive watched it dozens of times so i can def give you my take!

in short, it depends on how you view it. for your writing, she might be a good character study regardless tho!! major spoilers ahead so def watch before you read further!!

**spoilers for the series ahead!!**

homura is depicted as cool, calm, and collected with a soft spot for madoka for the majority of the series - a typical kuudere archtype. however, we learn in episode 10 that she wasn't always this way; in fact, she was much more similar to the dandere archtype prior to her first meeting with madoka. her detachment and cold attitude are directly resultant of her trauma - after repeatedly trying and failing to save the one person she loves the most, she becomes hardened. that is to say, she isnt inherently kuudere - by nature, she's soft spoken, nervous, and reserved.

in that regard, i think she can be really helpful as a character study for your writing because she forces you to question *why* your character is kuudere. is it how they were raised? is it resultant of trauma? are they emulating someone? or is it just their nature?

**spoilers for rebellion ahead!!**

i think another way we see that the kuudere persona is a direct response to trauma is in the movie rebellion. at the start of the film, homura has no memory of the events of the main series. hence, she reverts to her natural meek state. as she remembers the events of her past and begins to realize that the idyllic life she'd created was a farce, she hardens once more. the undoing of her braids mimics the undoing of her self - just as she no longer cares to braid her hair, she also no longer cares what happens to her (or anyone else for that matter) so long as madoka is protected. there is a scene wherein madoka is braiding homuras hair while holding her and comforting her. we see that this gesture cannot restore her - even if she heals from her trauma, she will never be the same meek girl she once was. you could argue that by the end of rebellion, homura has moved beyond being a kuudere and is now closer to a yandere. i personally have gripes with the way the ending was carried out (the character change felt too sudden imo, and thats emphasized by the immediate change in her visually), but thats beside the point

tl;dr - homura is a great character study for writing a kuudere bc she helps you consider the *reason* for a kuudere's behavior and attitude. also, madoka magica is just an amazing watch

Oh my god help I tried to submit this ask before and I got told a tumblrbeast ate it was it that long kjsfhjdshf. I'm so sorry if this is the second time you got this ask from me.

Me & my friend actually came up with a not-so-insane sounding theory: Marius is not from the in-game timeline. (This has basis in Marius third solo SSR, but I won't say anything you don't already know. You've seen that illustration, I can tell you it's seriously related to that!)

I'm thinking Madoka Magica here. Due to various events, Marius loses both Giann and Rosa. Unable to take the loss of both of them, he builds a time travel machine (only able to go to another timeline, not the past in his timeline), and sets out to save them both.

I'd like to imagine Marius at the start, so optimistic and eager, so helpful and open. He practically wore his heart on his sleeve around the first few Rosa, then gradually forced himself to close it off because he kept on failing. (As my friend pointed out, he feels like he doesnt deserve the love a Rosa in a timeline gives him because he's failed her too many times)

Also as my friend pointed out, this is why Marius doesn't open up as much to Rosa. He doesn't really like dumping so much about himself on her because he doesn't wanna get too attached to that Rosa in THAT timeline. Cause if he does, and he fails to save her- he'll be more broken than before.

The reason he seems emotionally detached while talking about the bad memories is because he experienced this in the first timeline, as the original Marius. The one that fell in love with Rosa and didn't know about the tragedy that would happen and didn't see the need to save her and Giann.

And can I add another layer of angst on top. He's stuck in a choose one situation. He can't save both, and he doesn't know that. Even if he does know that, he'd keep going to different timelines, in hopes of success, even if it's impossible.

1. Your first OC ever?

Twas a My Little Pony OC named Western Cat (name received from a generator). This was also generated, but she was "a unicorn with flame colored hair, a golden coat, and purple eyes". I interpreted flame colored as red and yellow hair, golden coat as golden yellow, and purple eyes as. Well, purple eyes. I then turned her into a Sonic OC, and years later made a human design based on the Sonic OC and changed their gender to match mine and wait a minute... That's Sky! My OC who acts as a fictional in-story representation of myself! So yeah, my sona is actually my first OC (after dozens of revisions over about 8 years of existing)

4. A character you rarely talk about?

Hasedonia! Mostly because I don't have too much for her and her story yet, but I also tend to talk about H&R! less than R&RWG. She's another person who's been isekaid to Phitania and appears to be half dragon

11. Is there any OC of yours you could describe as a “sunshine”?

Bailey is probably the closest to sunshine? I originally thought "just as a kid though", but she's still optimistic as a teen.

19. Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why)

I don't really talk about these characters too much since I don't really talk about my regular novel stuff, but one of the main characters is a Jewish girl named Talia. She works in a bookstore and the story opens with her... not exactly in the best place. She's been fired from many places, she's a huge people pleaser and ended up getting dumped for that, she's still not over her ex, and she feels like she disappoints everyone she meets. Her arc has her moving on from her ex as she and her old friend Cassie reconnect. Instead of it ending with her and Cassie dating as would be typical of a YA story though, she just stays single. I don't think the story is really YA anymore since she and everyone else have aged up as I've gotten older, but I created her back when I kept missing an old ex-BFF. I also just like that she doesn't end up in a relationship at the end because YA stories I read at the time ALL had romance in them. Before I really started to realize I was arospec I felt like teens should have the opportunity to see characters that stay single and are okay with it in order to send the message that you don't have to date. I don't even know if Talia is arospec or not yet but either way it's important that she has the option to not date and still learn to be happy without one

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?

The Sun King is a benevolent ruler who acts as Shiko's guide and confidante in his journey through Phitania, a magical world where Shiko becomes the hero. Hey, I think I should add more to this guy. *Turns around and now he's the main villain and his character and actions are now similar to the likes of King Bradley from FMAB, Kyubey from Madoka Magica, and Belos from Owl House* Oops...

So basically yeah he was supposed to just be a stock king character until I wanted to develop him more. He's still the ruler of Phitania and initially appears to be an ally, like he acts like the perfect dad towards everyone and the country is at peace, and then after Shiko dies he reincarnates him back on Earth and tells him he needs to send people to Phitania and then he can be brought back. Originally there was no real reason except hey we need isekai protags, but uhhh you know how I mentioned Kyubey as being inspiration? Yeah... Turns out everyone in Phitania is someone who had a miserable life who got "sent" there and he gave them happiness but has secretly been draining them of their hope and determination in order to become all powerful! And he was just supposed to be some guy...

32. Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?

Neil! This can work as both a human and a truck. He has a lot of trauma, and his life is basically a horror game. Even though he can drive himself around as a truck, Shiko can still take control of him at any time and that tends to happen when they have a target they need to run over. Like imagine at any moment your freedom can be taken away and you're forced to run through someone at top speeds in order to kill them. That's so fucked up

For Yume Nikki protag, I'd say Evanthe. Its whole story is it running through various scenarios to decide what to do with its newfound sentience, so the open-ended nature of a YNFG combined with a vague ending would work well with this. God now I wanna make one...

Nova Armstrong! Ze's a Batman Rogue OC I recently came up with based on the Rookie from Lego DC Super Villains and the first Planet Master (old Silver Age villain who only appeared once; ze's actually related to him but I dunno how yet). Nova is a henchman for hire and can temporarily steal people's powers and strengths. Ze will also copy other people's personalities, though this is due to an effort to fit and unrelated to hir powers. Ze does this to fit in with any rogue ze wants to get hired to

Hir reasoning for working in the rogue industry is ze's trying to find hir brother, but after ze does find him, ze ends up becoming a solo villain called "The Black Hole". Now ze goes really overboard with the "steal people's powers and strength" shtick and keeps trying to find ways to make it permanent. I haven't designed it yet beyond "this needs a long flowing cloak with a hood" and "stars" but hir whole costume is based on space

I think I had answered a similar question before, but it was ages ago and I can’t find it, so do not worry :D

Moreover, it is always fun to talk about favourite series!

Ok, I am focusing on series I have specifically enjoyed in their anime format. This means that many of my favourite series (see HxH, Monster, BSD, for example) will not appear because I mostly enjoy them in their manga medium, even if I have watched some parts of their animes and I like them.

In no particular order:

1) Puella Magi Madoka Magica

I think it is very original in its premise, its world-building and its structure. However, what truly makes the series shine for me is its themes. I think Madoka is a great example of how you can explore complex themes in a poignant way without making the story too long.

All in all, the series is all about wishes. Selfless wishes, selfish wishes, misguided wishes and repressed wishes. It explores what it means to wish for something and if it is right to feel so strongly over something that it is right to bet your life on it. And the final answer is that it is worth it.

2) Psycho Pass (first season)

It is from the same author of Madoka and it shows, I think. Despite the two series having different premises, I think similarities can be seen in their structures and in some tropes that appear in both series.

Anyway, just like Madoka, Psycho Pass is a series which finds its strength in deconstructing a genre (the dystopian one), in its worldbuilding and in its themes. I especially love the characters. Akane in particular is one of my favourite characters ever and I find her arc very original and powerful.

3) Requiem for the Phantom

It is a perfect tragedy </3

It explores the story of three phantoms, three people whose identity was stolen from them and it shows them reacting in different ways. It also explores the concept of identity and self. It is full od symbolism and artistic shots as well.

Elen and Cal are two great characters and Elen’s arc in particular is just very well done.

4) Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

It is a story I have knowns for a while, but never felt motivated enough to read the manga. So, I have watched the anime and I am glad I did! It is funny and light-hearted, but it has a very powerful plot and very strong characters.

I think that its climax and resolution are a perfect example of how to deal with an ensembled cast. Every major character has their moment both in terms of internal focus and of them being important for the plot. They all contribute in different ways to the resolution of the conflict.

5) Saiki K

I love this funny anime! It just plays with stereotypes in such a cheeky way!

Saiki is absolutely an icon :’’’) and I love Teruhashi! She is a refreshing joke of both the yamato nadeshiko and of the alpha bitch trope! She is just the best and tbh I think her character is crafted in a way that has a lot of potential even for a more serious story-line.

6) Baccano!

I love the characters and the atmosphere in this! I think the authors made a great adaptation and the idea of rearranging different plot-lines, so that you see them developing at the same time fits with the main themes and the overall philosophy of the series.

Also, I actually love stories set on trains, so I am very fond of the Flying Pussyfort plot-line (and I love the Vino twist).

7) Banana Fish

This anime devastated me, despite me knowing how it would have ended since the beginning :’’’) Anyway, it is this adaptation with its care for colors and details, that made me fall in love with the series. I really like the music, the character designs and the atmosphere conveyed by the anime.

I am afraid it is more or less it for my list. I like other animes of course (Anohana and Made in Abyss, for example). Still, I would not call them favourite ones!

Other than anime, I also enjoy other animated series, such as ATLA, The Dragon Prince, Rwby and Tales of Arcadia. They are all faves of mine! I have also enjoyed She-Ra a lot!

Oh my, hello!  You’re not a bother at all, don’t you worry!!  I would be more than happy to give you suggestions ^^ <3  I’ll list a bunch of my favorites that I think would be good for starters.

First off, if you haven’t watched any Ghibli movies already, get on it right away.  My favorites are Ponyo, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Whisper of the Heart, but most all of them are great.  Other non-Ghibli movies I’d recommend are A Silent Voice, Maquia, and Wolf Children.

Anime:

Erased (Supernatural, drama, mystery)  I’m not sure if you care about subs or dubs, but I am personally a fan of the dub of this one.  Ben Diskin (aka Young Xehanort) plays the role of the main character and he gives him a lot of personality.

Yona of the Dawn (Romance, comedy, action/adventure)

Ouran High School Host Club (Comedy, romance)

Snow White with the Red Hair (Fantasy, romance)

Noragami (Action, supernatural, comedy)

Madoka Magica (Fantasy, drama)

Princess Tutu (Fantasy, comedy, drama, romance)

Trigun (Action, sci-fi, comedy)

Fullmetal Alchemist / Brotherhood (Action, comedy, drama, fantasy) Both the old and new series are great, in my opinion.  I’d recommend trying both if you’re open to it, but if you have to pick one, pick Brotherhood as it is the most faithful to the source material.  Can get fairly violent/bloody at times.

Manga:

Toilet Bound Hanako-kun* (Supernatural, romance, drama)  VERY cute and addicting.  This one has an anime adaptation as well, so if you find that is more accessible, you can check that out.  But afterwards, if you enjoy, please try and read the manga!

To Your Eternity* (Supernatural, drama) Personal favorite!  Really unique premise that tugs at the heartstrings.  Amazing first chapter.  Also, this one is getting an anime adaptation in a few weeks, so keep an eye out!

Wake up, Sleeping Beauty (Romance, drama, supernatural) Very solid shoujo.  It’s complete and also relatively short so its great as an intro to the genre!

For the Tarot Ask: The Magician, The Sun, and Three of Wands

01. THE MAGICIAN: SPARK OF MAGIC (What inspired you to write your novel?) 

The answer changes a bit depending on which book we're talking about, all varying levels of cool. Sorry, I'm about to talk a lot.

For TOOD, the biggest catalyst was, well, a few things. I was in a queer lit class in college that I absolutely hated tbh. For my final, I made a short zine/collection? about the nonbinary experience from my perspective and one thing I included in that was a short story called Morning Afters, which was about two people who ended up being the main characters of TOOD. The MC, Quinn, is someone whose body changes every day, and they are trying to leave their fuck-buddy's house before they wake up but end up being discovered and the two bond over their different gender experiences.

I also had really nasty beef with this one cishet indie author dude who considered himself the savior of the gays and said queer people are so bad at writing their own books he has to do it for them--yes, really--so I wrote TOOD to spite him because he's a shitty man and a shittier author.

Anyway.

TWEfA was born out of my love of the Soulsborne franchise and also from the cannibalized corpse of an older novel I wrote a very long time ago. When I was like. Fifteen. A lot has changed since then. Maka and Dakota have stayed the most true to their original selves and I kinda... rebuilt everything around them. I'm sure some elements of it were also inspired by Madoka Magica. In fact, I guarantee some of it was.

Little Vicious Minds came about because I was playing Skyrim and am very mad still about the limited options of what you can do with/to Maven Black-Briar and so I resolved to make a story about someone who decides to destroy her criminal empire. And it kinda,,, blossomed from there.

Lilium was really a love letter to my depressed teenaged self because I wrote it originally in high school when everything fucking sucked. I see myself a lot in both of the main characters in different ways. It's also about your dead brother coming back as a demon which I have no real experience with so. *shrugs*

ASMLP started as a random thought because I love spellbooks and think they aren't used enough in fantasy so I resolved to write a book that required spellbooks and then I... made a whole magic and college system around that and it kind of evolved from there.

BTMS started as me wanting to write vampire erotica and became... very much not that.

I could go on. It really does just depend.

19. THE SUN: POSITIVITY (What is your greatest writing strength or skill?)

I like to think I'm good at dialogue and also at making people fucking sad. Highest praise I think I've gotten yet is a comment/review I got about Lilium about how well I got across the sense of loss and grief one of the MCs endures--and this is before I had lost anyone in my life to the inevitability of death. I don't want like. Instagram-worthy prose or anything but I would like for someone to feel like I just ripped their heart out of their chest and presented it to them when they're done reading, you know? And I think I'm pretty great about that so far.

66. THREE OF WANDS: FORESIGHT (Do you know what your book cover is going to look like? Do you have a color in mind?)

I don't have to imagine for ASMLP, because I already have one! You can see it here. As for my other works.... mmmm...Back when I wrote on Wattpad, I had to have a kind of idea for a cover because you were shooting yourself in the foot if you posted books without covers there. But since leaving there... well, not entirely. I also haven't gotten as far/thought as far ahead as I have with ASMLP--and in truth part of me buying the cover was to give myself an incentive to finish the fucking book. So far has been kind of working. I'm trying to finish by March lol

I haven't thought about covers for anything else yet. I should start doing so for BTMS since I want to publish it before or after ASMLP so we'll see. My main rules about covers is I vehemently refuse to have people on the cover. I hate it. Loathe it. The shadowed hands for ASMLP is as close to having people on the cover as I'm willing to get. I want my covers to have fancy typography or to make a focal point of important objects. I will settle for nothing less.
