Wanda jiggles her key through the door with a renewed rush. Her hands are shaky, and she should really just take her time. This wasn't making it go any faster.
Darcy had just dropped her off after they ate their McDonald's meal in the parking lot and was on her way back to get access to her laptop to help Wanda.
Finally unlocking the door, Wanda took her shoes off haphazardly and took off towards your room. Your laptop sits innocently at your desk, unaware of all the havoc Wanda will reap upon it if it doesn't give her access to your email.
She pulls out the chair and sits down before she opens it up. The first thing that greets her is the password page. Wanda pulls out the USB that Darcy gave her and plugs it in. All she can do now is wait since Darcy said she'd text Wanda once she made it home.
The next 15 minutes feel like a bottomless pit of hell. Wanda checks her watch every couple of minutes, tapping her foot impatiently.
"Come on, come on, come on," Wanda huffs quietly. She's extremely paranoid about what you might be doing. It's unlikely you'd be returning home tonight, and even if you were, it'd be a couple of hours from now.
Yet, the unhinged part of Wanda wants to pull out her phone and text you, "Hey, what's up? You're still busy sexing up Raye, right? Definitely not ideal, but you're not checking your emails or on your way home, right?
Wanda wishes she made Natasha go stakeout Raye's house to alert her when you were leaving the place. Before she can think more insane thoughts, her phone vibrates in her hand, and Wanda checks it with speed. It was from Darcy confirming she'd made it home and it'd be any minute now.
Wanda looks up at your laptop screen, pushing her finger against the mousepad to ensure the screen doesn't time out. The USB must give Darcy some kind of access because, true to her word, something does start happening.
Wanda watches the screen with mild interest as a separate window pops up. The background is black, but it's clearly some kind of coding as random words begin running. It takes a few minutes, but then asterisks fill your password box. It only takes 3 times before the right password is entered and Wanda's gained access.
"Yes!" She celebrates before she sends Darcy a quick text.
Wanda pulls up your email and finds the latest one sent to you is a link to a Google Drive. There are many videos and some photos, but Wanda recognizes herself in one of the thumbnails and clicks on it.
"I don't see what's so great about Raye—"
Wanda immediately stops playing it, unable to bear the embarrassment of hearing herself. She quickly deletes the clip, also going to the trash bin to make sure it's permanently deleted. Wanda checks everything several times to ensure there are no other clips and any trace of her confession is gone.
Mission completed.
Relief floods her system, knowing that the clip has been deleted.
Wanda closed everything she opened, making sure she changed the status of the email to unread. Once everything is as it was, Wanda closes your laptop and unplugs the USB.
Stuffing the USB into her pocket, she's about to send another text to Darcy when Wanda hears the front door open, and you call out her name. You must've seen her shoes at the door, but Wanda still doesn't answer. She hears you walking back down the hallway toward your room and panics.
Oh, god, she couldn't walk back out that door without bumping into you, and she couldn't jump out the window either with them living on the 10th floor.
Oh, fuck, what does she do? Wanda's panicking as she shakes her hands in hysteria and looks around frantically.
Shit, shit, shit, shit!
Wanda carefully makes her way to your closet, but it's filled wall to wall with your clothes, and the floor is filled with your shoes and other boxes. There was no room to hide in there.
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!
Wanda's walking around your room and has no idea where to hide. She looks at your bed and internally groans. Dropping to her knees, she scoots herself until she's fully underneath, flat on her stomach, but her head is kept off the floor. She quickly opens her phone and turns it from vibration mode to silence—Wanda refuses to be caught. She would rather die than even try and explain all of this.
The door opens, and Wanda only gets a few of your slippers as you make your way back to your desk. She hears a soft clank on the desk, and Wanda can only assume it's the mug of tea you have every night.
Wanda hears you sigh quietly as you seem to settle in for the night. This is not good. This is fucking terrible.
Wanda can't tell how long she's been stuck under your bed. She's too worried about moving and accidentally making a noise. All she hears is the soft music playing and your mouse and keyboard clicking.
Suddenly, her phone lights up with a notification. It's a text from you.
Wanda bites her lip, trying to decide if she should answer. Ultimately, she decides she should because it's possible you might try to call her if she doesn't, and she definitely can't answer it if you do. Wanda would also feel bad about not answering you if you're worried.
But, god fucking dammit, she's going to have to lie. Again.
Wanda hears a breathy chuckle from you and tries not to smile.
Fuck.
Wanda doesn't know if she should say yes or no. If she says yes, will you wait until she gets home? Wanda can only dread how long she might be stuck under your bed.
The chair you're sitting scrapes against the floor a little. A reply doesn't come for a few minutes, and Wanda wishes she could see what you were doing.
Wanda stares at the text, trying to see if she can decipher your tone from just the words alone. It's something you've told her countless times when she told you she'd be staying at Vision's place. Yet, somehow, this feels different.
You stop replying to her after that. It's both a relief that Wanda could stop digging herself into another hole and a torture she's left without much to do again.
Wanda checks some of her other texts and replies to them, but her battery life is getting exceedingly low, and she doesn't want it to die on her accidentally if you do decide to text her again.
The last time she opened the phone to check the time, an hour and a half had passed. There's almost a desperation to give herself up and come clean to relinquish herself from the sheer boredom, but Wanda holds strong since she reasons she'd already made it this far.
"Hmm," Wanda hears you let out a deep hum. The mouse clicks a few times, and Wanda wishes she could see what you were staring at.
Definitely not her confession video; that much comforts Wanda.
God, she's bored. She's so bored that the fear has long left her body.
It's a miracle when Wanda hears you get up and stretch, a few cricks released from your back. You leave the room, and Wanda hears the bathroom door shut.
Wanda scrambles to get out from under the bed, nearly hitting her head 5 times. She quickly tiptoes out of your room, heading for the front door and opening it. Just as you're coming out of the bathroom, Wanda shuts the door as if she's just gotten in.
"Wanda, is that you?" You call from the hallway.
"Yep! You're still up?" Wanda calls back, laughing nervously to herself about how stupid this all was, but relief she was clearly getting away with it.
"Yeah, just thought I'd get a start on the editing stuff for Tony," you say as Wanda walks towards you.
"Oh, cool," Wanda doesn't inquire further but says, "I thought you were staying at Raye's tonight?"
"Oh, uh," you seem surprised that Wanda asks. "I was having a hard time falling asleep on her bed. The mattress is too soft and gives me the worst cricks."
"Oh," Wanda nods, knowing that your mattress is memory foam but on the firmer side.
"What about you?" You ask back. "Didn't go home with Darcy?"
"Uh, no," Wanda fumbles slightly. "Uh, it was good, but I, uh, was getting a slight stomachache from the McDonald's so I decided to go home."
You frown. "Do you want some tea? Maybe some Tums?"
"Maybe some ginger and honey tea?"
You nod. "Alright, I'll get some ready for you. Why don't you go take your makeup off and whatnot? We could watch some TV before we sleep."
"Oo," Wanda grins. "I think I saw some things come out on Disney+, let's see what they have!"
The rollercoaster of the night comes to a satisfying end for Wanda.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
The next three weeks are odd for Wanda. During the first and second weeks, she was so busy with her clients and a whole PR mess that she barely had time to see you.
She spends more time collaborating with her team about how they will dig one of their clients out of the mess they'd made or if they should just drop the client. She's barely been able to think about her feelings for you and what to do about it.
By the time the third week arrives, everything at work finally slows down, and she has time to herself like a regular person again. Wanda reflects back on her position and the entire video-deleting debacle.
With the fear and adrenaline long gone, Wanda can't actually tell if she's disappointed that you haven't discovered her feelings. Would things have just been easier if you had watched the video?
At the very least, it might be better in the sense Wanda wouldn't be stuck in the same place.
Wanda's sitting on the couch, lazily trying to focus on her book but can't with her mind continuously drifting. You haven't been home as of late—Wanda only realized you've been out a lot for a week and a half now.
Sighing, Wanda closes her book. She was getting bored again. You wouldn't be home until later, and she already spent an hour on the phone with Natasha earlier.
Just as Wanda was about to text you to ask if there was any possibility you'd be home earlier, the front doorknob jiggled, signaling someone was putting in their key.
Wanda smiles, hoping she'll see you walk through the door, but smiles even wider when she sees who walks through it.
Getting up from the couch, Wanda runs and jumps, latching onto the person.
"Oof," the voice was gruff.
"Bucky!" Wanda yells excitedly as Bucky catches her, wrapping his arm around her to ensure she doesn't fall, even though her legs are around him.
"Hi, nutball," Bucky says, but his mouth is muffled by Wanda's shoulder and some of her hair.
Wanda slowly slides back down onto the floor, taking a good look at Bucky. Of all the people she adores besides you, Bucky is at the top of her list, along with Natasha, which is why they both have key fobs to the apartment.
Bucky kind of reminds her of Pietro in certain ways, if Pietro would ever grow up and get a little serious. Bucky seems to know that and has cared for Wanda in Pietro's stead now that the guy has left for Europe since they turned 18.
"When did you get back?" Wanda asks. "Why didn't you call? I would've arranged to pick you up from the airport."
"It's fine. Steve picked me up from the airport and we relaxed a little bit before he had to leave to the station to do some kind of sketch for a case," Bucky says as he takes off his shoes.
They wander back into the living room space and take a seat. Bucky had brought her some coffee and pastries that Wanda delighted over.
"So," Wanda says after a sip of her coffee. "How was California?"
"Hot," Bucky smiles.
"You said you were going to train an upcoming actor in a movie, right?"
Bucky nods, sipping his own coffee. "Yeah, some new superhero movie. Pretty young; I think he just turned 18. Definitely now super ripped for an 18 year old," Bucky laughs.
"Does he need a PR agent?" Wanda grins.
Bucky rolls his eyes with mirth. "Probably not since he has his manager handling everything, but I did pass your card along."
"You're good people."
Bucky snorts, and they spend another half hour catching up before he finally comes to the topic he's been waiting to discuss. "You know, Steve brought up something interesting."
"Oh, yeah?" Wanda raises her brow.
"Steve was bringing up how Bug seems to be seeing someone," Bucky says slowly. "And she looks a lot like you...like everyone else Bug has dated."
Wanda lets out a huge groan. "Steve should eat rocks and jump into the ocean."
Bucky laughs, leaning back onto the couch, and smiles. "So? What do you think?"
"About what?"
Bucky gives her a side-eye, and she groans quietly this time.
"Fine," she grumbles. "It was strange to realize, but like, a good strange. I don't know. I want...I want her to look at me."
Wanda's blushing at the admittance to Bucky. It makes her feel shy, but also good that someone else close to her knows and will be on her side.
"Have you confessed?"
"Not exactly."
"Ah, so you haven't done shit except probably rope people into your weird schemes that turn out poorly."
Wanda's jaw drops. "I have not—okay, well, I mean, I wouldn't say they turned out poorly." She would never tell Bucky about the videotaping incident. She was taking that to her grave.
Bucky eyes Wanda, taking in the small expressions on her face and the muted longing in her eyes as she picks at her nails. "You're so much like me, sometimes I'm convinced that you're actually my little sister," Bucky grins, and Wanda mirrors him. "Don't tell Pietro that, though. He's gets so jealous."
Wanda just gives him an, 'obviously,' look.
"When I started realizing my feelings for Steve, I didn't say anything for a long, long time, and I've known I've liked Steve since we were boys making mudpies," Bucky leans his head back against the couch, the coffee resting between his hands on his stomach. "I kept thinking about what if Steve didn't feel the same? And then there was the whole Peggy situation, and I didn't want to break that up."
"You're better than me," Wanda sighs. "I would break them up in a heartbeat if I knew how she felt about me."
Bucky can't hold his laugh in for that but continues on. "I think a lot of those fears I had paralyzed me. I kept thinking I'd have more time and there was a right moment, or if I did certain things, Steve would feel the same. I just had to wait it out."
"So, what happened?"
Bucky gave her a wan smile. "Steve and Peggy, even though they'd be on and off, were getting more serious. One night, Steve told me he was thinking about proposing."
"What?" Wanda's jaw drops. She's never heard of this. "But obviously he didn't because you guys are together now."
"Yeah," Bucky laughs, "because I totally freaked out. I started saying he couldn't and then kissed him, and then started crying. It was a mess."
"Oh, god," Wanda rests her hand against her mouth. She could totally see herself doing that to you if you said the same thing. Now, she's starting to freak out if you're getting serious with Raye.
"I think you know what I'm getting at," Bucky says, turning his head to look over at Wanda, and she feels vaguely uncomfortable. "You need to say something—now. There's no perfect timing. There's nothing extra you can do to magically know, and you're not gonna always have more time."
Wanda lets her head fall back against the couch, closing her eyes. They start to sting with tears, and she feels that same fear creep into her belly. Yet, Bucky's words resonate with her, and she suppresses that fear until it settles into a muted nervousness.
"Fuck, I swear you and Steve planned this."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
Despite Wanda's talk with Bucky, she says absolutely nothing to you when you arrive home late in the evening. Wanda's eyes are glued to the TV, watching How I Met Your Mother absently.
You seemed to have a long day yourself as you carefully sat next to her on the couch.
The air feels weird, and there's a tension in your shoulders. It starts to make Wanda tense until you suddenly relax with a deep breath. You shuffle in your seat before scooting until you're pressed against Wanda's side, resting your head against her shoulder.
The smell of clean laundry and leaves fills Wanda's nose, and she relaxes against you.
"Wanna order in?" You say.
"Yeah," Wanda replies, pulling out her phone to see what she was in the mood for. The two of you quickly place an order and continue to sit in silence, watching the TV.
You seem deep in thought, but you grab Wanda's hand at some point, holding it with keen interest.
Wanda doesn't say anything. Her cheeks and the tips of her ears are warm as you stroke the back of her hand with your thumb. Her heart doesn't speed up, but it begins to thud noticeably harder in her chest.
It continues like that until the food arrives, and it's also eaten in silence with the background noise of the TV. Yet, whenever Wanda looks up, she finds you staring at her, and you don't break eye contact.
It's strange, and it's making Wanda feel somewhat nauseous.
When the food is done and put away, the two of you settle back onto the couch, but Wanda doesn't think she can handle the silence anymore.
"How was your day?"
You turn your head, staring at Wanda, and reply softly. "Okay...how was yours? Bucky told me he stopped by to see you."
Wanda tenses. "Yeah," she mumbles. "It was good seeing him again."
"It's nice that he's home," you nod. "I'm sure Steve is happy."
Steve doesn't deserve to be happy, Wanda pettily thinks. It was his fault that Wanda felt so nervous that she felt like she would puke.
Wanda needs to say something.
She knows she needs to say something now like Bucky told her to.
All those same fears and anxiety creep up, but frustration has also lingered in her since the day she realized her feelings for you.
Wanda's tired, she realizes. She's also sick of saying nothing and watching you be with someone else. She's scared but would rather say something and be put out of her misery than continue saying nothing.
Just as Wanda is about to say something else, you say something first.
"I broke up with Raye."
Just like that, the wind is blown out of her sails, and Wanda's brain stalls. "What?"
"I," you clear your throat, "broke up with Raye."
"When?"
"A week and a half ago."
"And you're just telling me now?"
Your brow scrunches, and you turn in your seat to fully face Wanda as you cross your legs on the couch. You're fidgeting with your fingers in your lap. "Yes...I needed to think."
"Think about what?"
You wet your lips. "If...if it was worth it potentially ruining our friendship for something more."
Wanda's heart drops like an amusement park ride. Her stomach feels the same way it does when an airplane is ascending.
She had all these things she was going to say to you just a minute ago, and now her head was empty, and all she could think about was what you were trying to say.
"I think it is...if you feel the same, which I know you do unless something's changed in the last three weeks."
"How do you know?" Wanda frowns. Then again, she wasn't trying to be sly about it the last few months. Maybe you've finally caught on.
Wait, Wanda pauses. Three weeks? That was when—
You pull out an SD card from your pocket. Wanda's around you enough to know what that is, and her stomach sinks.
"You know," you give her a small smile. "I was trying to edit the video together for Tony the night after the party, but as I was going through the footage, a third of the photos or videos were corrupted."
Wanda thinks back to the USB she returned to Darcy. Dammit, Darcy! That lying, sneaking, betraying—
"I didn't think much of it, but I had to meet up with the videographer to get the original files. You'd never guess what was on there," you smile wryly. "Or maybe you do since you've somehow deleted it from my Google Drive...and corrupted the other files, so I'd have to get the originals. Very conflicting motives I was getting."
"I didn't mean to corrupt the other files," Wanda mumbles. "But you should probably get your laptop professionally cleaned..."
You give her a weird look but chuckle with a shake of your head. "You're super kooky, you know."
"I do know," Wanda rolls her eyes. "I think you know as well."
"I thought I might've seen you on my first date with Raye. That rock that hit that car wouldn't happen to be something you know about, do you?"
"Not at all," Wanda replies quickly. "But if I did, I'm sure the person would want to say she wasn't aiming for the car or your head."
"So, just Raye's head?"
"Once again, not a clue what the intention was as it wasn't me."
You laugh, and Wanda joins in until it fades, and you bite your bottom lip. "I don't know how any of this works, Wanda. I've never dated anyone I consider my best friend."
"I would hope not," Wanda raises her brow at you. "That means someone else was your best friend and you've committed the ultimate betrayal."
You roll your eyes with a mirth and a smile.
"I haven't either," Wanda says softly, slowly turning fully toward you, grabbing your hand, and lacing your fingers together. "But I want to. And no matter what happens, we're gonna be okay. I don't think I'll ever love anyone the way I love you. I think I've loved you for a really, really long time."
"Me too," you mumble, squeezing Wanda's hand, feeling shy. "I don't think I ever really thought about it. I just love you. You're my best friend and I love you."
"Now I'm your girlfriend," Wanda grins, leaning closer and closing her eyes.
"Whoa, okay, let's not get ahead of ourselves now. What if we're not even sexually compatible?"
Wanda pulls back and looks at your face, shocked. It's stony and serious until your lip twitches and Wanda smacks you.
"Ugh, you're such a brat!"
"No, that's you. I'm stinky."
"Stinky."
"Brat."
"Bug."
"Witch."
"Oh, we're bringing back middle school nicknames, are we?" Wanda narrows her eyes at you. You're about to say something else, but Wanda's had enough.
Didn't she think something earlier about being sick of saying nothing? What was she thinking? Saying nothing sounds ideal.
Wanda launches herself across the seat into you, hearing you grunt as she topples you over onto the couch and presses her lips against yours.
It's not a dream this time, Wanda's very sure.
This was much, much better than any dream could give her. It feels better.
Your lips are soft, and you taste faintly like the cookie you split with her earlier.
Oh god, oh god, oh god, Wanda's mind is racing. She's finally kissing you.
Oh my god, she was kissing you!
You were kissing her back!
Wanda kisses you, pressing her lips over yours over and over as your fingers trail over the outside of her thighs and stroke up to her back. You're bolder than her as your fingers dip under her shirt, pressing her against bare skin.
It's thrilling; Wanda almost can't lie still on top of you. Goosebumps are forming, and it's forming everywhere.
You break the kiss, lips caressing her jaw, and scatter light kisses as they trail down her throat.
Your hand moves higher up Wanda's back and pauses.
"No bra?" You raise an eyebrow at her.
"I didn't leave the house today," Wanda mumbles, pressing a chaste kiss to your temple.
You hum. "No complaints here," you resume your caresses of her bare skin but pause again. "Wanna move to the bedroom?"
No, Wanda thinks. She doesn't want to detach herself from this position. She doesn't want your touch or your kisses to stop.
You can tell that Wanda's debating the pros and cons, and you try to persuade her. "A bed will give us more room to do things...and I want to do a lot of things..." You nibble on her collarbone.
Wanda lets out a soft moan, and her toes curl.
"Okay, fine," Wanda acquiesces, getting up and pulling you along with her. "Move quickly, though. No dallying."
"Dallying? I would never," you smile as Wanda pulls you down the hall. "I'll mirror you perfectly."
"I think you always have," Wanda says softly, turning to look at you. "That's why it's taken us so long to get here. We're stupid."
You laugh. "Seems like one of us deviated from our mirror, mirror dance."
The two of you enter Wanda's bedroom, and she falls back onto it, pulling you on top of her.
Your body heat spreads across hers, and Wanda thinks she's dizzy again.
"Good," Wanda mumbles, cupping your face, her thumb stroking your cheek. "I'm tired of us being chickens."
You press a kiss to her, smiling against her lips. One arm wraps around Wanda while the other trails under the front of Wanda's shirt.
"Speak for yourself," your fingers trail higher and higher. "Maybe I'm just stupid." You press another kiss, lingering a moment longer, and then pull away. "Chicken."
"Stupid," Wanda smiles, her lips grazing yours when she does.
"Witch."
"Bug."
"Brat."
"Stinky."
"I love you."
"I love you more."
Wanda feels something so peaceful settle over her. The butterflies in her stomach flutter around from your touch, but she's so happy. She thinks she might cry if she thinks about it too much because this was all she ever wanted.
Wanda focuses on the feel of your hands on her skin instead and how you're making her feel hot. She focuses on the feel of your lips against her skin, the sound of her breaths, and your soft moans.
There's no way the two of you aren't sexually compatible, but Wanda's eager to find out exactly how compatible they are...over and over.
As your lips trail lower and more clothes are removed, Wanda idly thinks that maybe Steve doesn't need to eat rocks and jump into the ocean.

Our First Thanksgiving
Bambi!Wanda x Reader
Gif belongs to @abimess
You couldn’t believe it. Halloween was a blast for you and your doe hybrid mate Wanda Maximoff. You and her had enter the ‘seasons of firsts’ as you would call it.
Thanksgiving was just on the horizon. Another first holiday for your doe and you. Honestly you loved having these firsts with her. It was like new experiences to share together, to feel the joy and elation that it allows was incomparable.
Your doe had traded her jean shorts for a comfy pair of PJ pants that she wore around the house. Her little deer tail popped out the back of the pants, in truth, it gave you another reason to stare at her perfect form.
One night, about two weeks before Thanksgiving, your mate in question came running into the living room and jumped onto the couch and into your lap.
“So what are we gonna do?” She asked, her doe tail wiggling with anticipation.
“About?” You asked her right back.
“Thanksgiving!” She exclaimed. “My family never celebrated it, you know being from Sokovia and all”
“Well it’s a feast,” you replied, “a time where we gather together and share what we’ve been thankful for over the year”
“She nuzzles you, her antlers fitting just over your head, “I think you know what I’m thankful for, my buck”
You kiss her nose in response. “I promise I’m gonna make this Thanksgiving a memorable one for you, my doe”
She giggles, “I know you will”
You had no idea where to even begin. Your mind races with ideas both good and bad as you walk down the hallways of the sanctuary.
“Hey boss,” Natasha said with a smirk, “need fuel? Your brain looks like it’s running on fumes”
Natasha, your ever loyal wolf hybrid pal guides you into the break room and pours you some coffee.
“So what’s on your mind?” She asks as she gives you coffee.
“Thanksgiving. I wanna make it special for Wanda.” You explain.
“My advice…make a few vegan dishes. She’s probably not gonna want direct turkey.” Natasha explains. “But prepare a small one for me, hey I’m a carnivore after all”
“Just inviting yourself huh?” You ask with a chuckle and a smirk.
“Am I not invited?” Natasha offers a mocking offense. “I’m your buddy, your pal!”
“Of course you’re invited Nat,” you smile at her, “you’re like my sister. Closest thing I had to a family for a long time, Yelena too”
Natasha smiles, her wolf tail wagging a little. “Make some turkey tofu for the future wife, some cranberry sauce, stuffing and a green bean casserole, you’ll be good”
“Future wife?” You look at her a little confused.
“Hey just calls it as I see it. I hear wedding bells for you and your doe in your future” Natasha laughs.
You couldn’t help but blush. You heard those same wedding bells too.
Thanksgiving had arrived. You worked on both the turkey tofu for Wanda and the regular turkey for your wolf hybrid pals. Natasha borough the green bean casserole. Yelena brought the cranberry sauce, joking that she got into several scuffles for it.
Tony handled thanksgiving dinner for the sanctuary. Doctor Strange led the festivities in your place.
You, Wanda, Natasha, and Yelena held a small intimate dinner at your apartment. You had a nice fireplace loop playing on your tv. Wanda and Yelena found themselves watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade while you and Natasha worked the kitchen. Eventually, everyone took their place at your small dining table.
Wanda sat next to you, holding your hand under the table. The dinner was nice and simple, conversations faded into something jovial. The wolves couldn’t help but embarrass you by telling Wanda all about your life before her.
Wanda couldn’t help but feel blessed. She had a small family there with her. She had two wolf sisters and the love of her life.
Little did she realize how quickly that little thanksgiving dinner set up would grow over time. Eventually Natasha had to bring a bigger fold out table.
Your first thanksgiving as a couple was also your first one as a family. And as far as Wanda could see, it was just perfect.

Lucky Ones au - headcanons for Natasha
I randomly whipped this while I was at work to help me kickstart my motivation in continuing the series. 🫣
Nothing but fluff here so happy reading! 🫶
»»-----------► Series Masterlist
Natasha absolutely loves breakfast meals, and it is her comfort food. She can eat them anytime, no matter what part of the day it is.
Natasha secretly wants to adopt a cat but doubts if she can take care of one. After a hard week at work, she would often visit animal shelters to check on some kittens and spend at least an hour petting them. She also makes donations to these shelters and wants to make sure that the animals are being taken care of.
Natasha would often watch Wanda sleep, especially at nights where sleep is not in store for her. She would daydream of the future with her girlfriend and think about the places they could go to.
Thanks to Wanda, Natasha has developed an appreciation for flowers. Passing a flower shop always reminds her of Wanda, prompting her to buy a rose or two, plucking the petals and pressing them into Wanda's book with a love note.
While Wanda doesn't vocalize it, Natasha is a soft-hearted person. She pampers Wanda with a hot bath after a hard day at the university and lights scented candles for added relaxation.
Natasha's massages leave Wanda feeling incredibly relaxed, eliciting moans of pleasure before drifting off to sleep
Natasha used to favor dark, bold-colored clothing. Since Wanda entered her life, she's embraced lighter shades, as Wanda encourages coordinating outfits. However, a light pink color theme is Natasha's limit.
Natasha enjoys watching car race competitions in her free time, so it wasn't much of a shock to Wanda when she discovered Natasha's passion for participating in local car races. Natasha revealed that she once entered a drag race using the car she received as a gift on her 19th birthday. However, this led to her dad discovering it, resulting in weeks of being grounded and having her credit cards frozen.
Natasha's motorcycle collection spans classic vintage types to sports bikes. When Wanda suggested matching helmets with cat ears for their rides, Natasha initially didn't find it amusing but eventually gave in to Wanda's playful idea.
Granting Wanda creative control over their apartment's decor, Natasha witnessed the transformation of her grey bedroom walls into a soothing light green. Wanda explained that the choice reflected their eye colors and added a personal touch to the space where they slept.
During a joint jewelry shopping expedition, Natasha bought two silver bracelets with purple stone pendants. Forgetting to remove them, her sudden change in accessories, usually gold, black, or grey, became a topic of company gossip. Another incident involved Natasha wearing a sun and moon necklace, further fueling the office rumours whether their boss is dating someone
One day, Wanda stumbled upon Natasha's hidden talent for singing while Natasha took charge of cooking. Out of the blue, Natasha began singing "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac, leaving Wanda pleasantly surprised by the unexpected discovery.
In addition to her singing prowess, Natasha possesses a collection of vinyl records. Occasionally, Wanda sifts through them and selects "Unchained Melody," creating a perfect mood for a slow dance in their living room, wrapped in each other's arms.
Their shared love for music extends beyond their home. Natasha often takes Wanda to concerts, where they both revel in the electrifying experience of witnessing bands and singers perform live. Laufey has become their favorite artist, and they make it a tradition to sing along to Laufey's songs in the car.
Wanda also discovered Natasha's love for fast food. Natasha's ultimate favorite is Jollibee's spaghetti and fried chicken. On days that both of them are too lazy to prepare lunch or dinner, Natasha would just order online and have Jollibee.
For some reason, Natasha's comfort movie is Frozen. Wanda also fell in love with the movie, most especially to Olaf and would playfully mimic his famous line "Hi, I'm Wanda and I like warm hugs!" which amuses Natasha to no end. Natasha likes to think that she's Elsa.
Whenever Wanda is having a hard time understanding her lectures (i.e certain problems that she cannot solve), she would run to Natasha. Just give her pen and paper, she will write down the solutions for Wanda and the woman would explain the solutions with no difficulty.
Natasha easily gets jealous, there was a time a random guy tried to flirt with Wanda and Nat immediately snatched the other girl's waist and glared at the poor boy. She then whispered a warning to Wanda "Just stay close to me or else I will leave you here."
Natasha has a strict routine that includes working out 3 - 4 times a week for 2 hours to maintain her physique. On weekends, she would run for a couple of miles before Wanda wakes up.
Natasha is serious about her skin care routine. No matter how tired she is from work, she will make time in completing her nightly routine, applying serums and moisturizers meticulously with no fail. Her commitment extends to reminding Wanda to always wear sunscreen.

AN: I've really enjoyed writing this series. I'm deeply appreciative of all the feedback and reblogs. They've fueled my writing and truly made me thankful for each and every one of you.
Series masterlist
Summary: Our darling couple take the first step toward the rest of their lives
It's a cold November morning and once again FRIDAY is calling your name, dragging you from your precious sleep.
"Nooo," you grumble, nuzzling into Loki's chest and tugging the fur comforter over your head. It collides with his nose.
He snorts, pulling it back below his chin. "I'll take it from here, FRIDAY.
"Darling, you do need to get up." He shifts beneath you.
"No," you whine, your voice muffled by the blanket. "I want to stay like this forever." You reach your arm over his bare chest, squeezing it for emphasis.
"As much as I'd enjoy that," he chuckles, "your absence downstairs could cause significant upheaval. Not to mention the breakdown of our fearless leader.
"You weren't here when he went on his feeble-minded caffeine fast. There are beings in Niflhel far more pleasant than our dear Captain without his 'morning Joe.'"
"But you're warm, and...you smell good, and...and...I love you," you say between yawns, before peaking up at him with a pout.
"I love you too," he smiles and gives your forehead a peck. "That doesn't change the fact that it's Monday and you have to go to work."
You throw off the blankets with a dramatic huff. "Fiiine. I hate it when you're right."
Loki chuckles and grabs a robe as he stands, handing another to you.
☕
First things first when you get in the elevator. "FRIDAY, please preheat the ovens for kolaches and turnovers, then check the A-Team agenda and load orders for whoever's on call to the POS."
You can't fault Tony's design; two separate confection ovens, freezer and refrigerator on a vertical conveyor. The contraption stands in the back of your circular kiosk cafe along with a cooling/rising rack, sink, employee entrance, and ample counter space.
Nearest the lobby doors sit the POS station, espresso machines, grab&go fridge, and pastry display. In addition to base cabinets, there's bulk storage accessible via elevator to the garage level. With a voice command to FRIDAY, a central circle in the floor descends while a safety barrier ascends into the workspace.
Plenty of square footage for three people, and on a Monday you need all the help you can get.
Chrysa clocks in with a muttered "Morning" as you're reviewing the Avengers' order:
Medium red eye, black - 'Nat's home from her mission and there's a morning debrief.'
Large dark roast with a shot of DynaPep - 'Tony, apparently trying to kill himself after a night of post-mission "tinkering."'
Extra large cup of Joe, extra cream and an order of mixed pastries - 'Steve got his run in and feels guilty about the early debrief.'
Small cocoa with cinnamon and extra whip - 'Peter's going to be late for school. Really, Steve needs to put that kid's education first.'
Medium Dutch apple pie a la mode latte - 'Thor, making his way through the seasonal menu.'
Extra large dirty chai - 'Scott just got into town.'
You notice a distinct lack of Earl Grey with excessive honey - 'Loki went back to bed. Dick.'
The next few hours are busy, as to be expected. They have you, Chrysa and Dementy rushing around, baking, steaming, and ringing up customers as quickly as possible.
Things begin to slow by 9:30, and around 10 Wanda wanders down in sweats and clogs, a maroon hoodie covering her unbrushed hair.
You start on her turek as soon as you see her. "Hey, what would you like for breakfast? And weren't you supposed to be at the debrief this morning?"
"Hmm...a pumpkin muffin," she smirks. "I popped my head out, told the kid to keep his mouth shut, and bewitched Steve to think I was there before going back to bed.
"I'm not getting up after three hours sleep just to tell Steve everything went as planned."
"What about Nat and Tony?" you ask.
"Stark sent Mark 93 and Nat doesn't sleep half the time anyway."
☕
Wednesday afternoon finds you at a boutique with Nat, Wanda, and Hope, who's visiting for the annual gala. The latter, focused as always, has chosen six sleek, black, barely differentiated dresses and hovers with them hanging over her shoulder while the rest of you decide.
"I can't believe it's been a year since we met," you say as you hold a one-shoulder gown against yourself in the mirror.
"You should try that one on," Nat says, her sultry voice soft but insistent. "It has been a year, hasn't it? So this is a particularly special gala. Is that why you're only looking at dresses in Loki's colors?"
You grin down at the gold taffeta. "Partially. It's more a feeling he's going to do something especially dramatic? I don't know what, exactly, but I haven't seen him this cagy since my birthday. He sent half the people in Times Square to his pocket dimension because I turned down the street before the flash mob was in place."
Wanda snickers.
"You're kidding!" says Hope.
"No," Nat replies, "There was a huge fallout when Steve got back from his 'emergency mission.' Something about 'We don't know if pocket dimensions are safe for humans...that's abduction...what if someone had gotten hurt?!'"
"And don't forget," adds Wanna, "'If you're so concerned, Rogers, I'm happy to send you in there to create safety protocols. We could all use the break from your incessant nagging.'"
☕
You were going to spend Saturday lounging around the flat until you needed to get ready, but Wanda had different plans. She insisted you and the rest of the girls all have a spa day. Thus, in the late afternoon you're stepping off the elevator on your floor with goodbyes to Nat, Shuri, Wanda, Hope and Pepper.
You open the door to find Loki already dressed and pacing nervously in the front room. His curls are raked in lines from the many times he's run his fingers along his scalp. "Loki?" you say. He freezes like a child caught sneaking candy, a hand shooting to his breast pocket before he takes a breath to steady himself. "Is everything ok?"
"Yes," he attempts a carefree smile. "Of course, darling, everything is wonderful. I...uh, I was just concerned you might not make it back in time to get ready."
You raise an eyebrow, amused by his ironically poor lie. "You do realize we don't have to be downstairs for another two hours, right?" Cupping his cheeks, you pull him down to kiss him. "Whatever it is you're so nervous about, I promise it will be ok. God or not, no one is perfect, and I'm not going anywhere."
He calms a bit. "Right. Well, I'm just going to, ah, see if Stark needs any help getting things organized." He checks his pocket again before rushing out the door.
You do your hair and makeup, wandering around the bedroom in only shoes and panties as your gown simply isn't bra-friendly. You're unhooking the dress from its hanger when you hear the front door open.
"Great timing," you call out. "I'm going to need help with this zipper."
Loki enters the room. "Ravishing as always, darling," he grins at your bare chest. "I could help with a lot more than your zipper, you know."
"Says the god who was worried we'd be late?" You smirk.
"Right," he chuckles. "Let's get you into that so I can get you out of it later."
☕
The event space is nearly unrecognizable; Tony's modern minimalism nowhere to be seen.
The chrome columns are covered in black silk, green velvet held against them in sandglass form by thick gold cords. Grand chandeliers twinkle from the high ceilings, alight with five thousand candle flames. A brass quintet sits atop a raised stage opposite the bar, the dance floor spread between them.
"You weren't kidding when you said you'd help Stark," you smile, nodding at the decor. "It's very you." Standing on your toes, you give his cheek a peck.
"Thank you," he takes a steadying breath. "Shall we, er, have a drink? Perhaps some appetizers? Oh look! There's T'Challa and Shuri catching up with my brother. Why don't you join them while I find us sustenance."
You wander over to the group, letting your anxious lover gather food. "Hey," you greet, lightly grazing Shuri's shoulder as you siddle between her and T'Challa.
The king greets you with a tight hug. "It has been far too long. You have to come visit us in Wakanda.
"Okoye keeps talking about getting a Starbucks, but I told her there's better coffee to be had from international sources."
Thor lights up as his brother joins the group, handing you a cocktail and a plate of hors d'oeuvres. "Are you ready?" he asks Loki, a shiteating grin on his face.
"Will you desist?!" Loki says through gritted teeth, attempting to surreptitiously stomp on his brother's toes.
You pop a stuffed mushroom in your mouth and pretend not to notice while you listen to Shuri describe her latest invention. As your discussion of the device begins to dwindle, you hear the opening notes of a familiar waltz.
Loki clears his throat, his hand extended. "May I?"
You take it and he leads you to the dance floor. You can't take your eyes off him. His floor craft is perfection as together you dance smoothly through the other couples.
You know not just the steps, but how he'll take them, making reflexive shifts in your footwork to blend precisely into his.
His hands are comforting as he holds you, his natural scent like burning pine and fresh snow. His vibrant green eyes are full of awe of you and the glowing adoration reflected on your face.
When the song ends, he spins you to the center of the dancefloor. Your skirt settles and you find him kneeling as he holds your hand and a stunning emerald ring.
"Darling," he looks at you with batted breath. "Will you do me the honor of being my princess?"
"Loki, oh my god! Yes, yes, of course I will. Nothing could make me happier!" As soon as he slips the ring on, you pull him into a fervent kiss and the band strikes up the wedding march. You know that wherever you are, so long as you're with him, you'll be home.

Extra Lessons | w.mf + n.rv
Pairing: Professor Wanda Maximoff + Student Natasha Romanov
Warnings: office sex, fingering, praise, degradation, large age gap (N-early twenties W-late thirties), unethical relationships
Summary: Natasha lets her grades slip so she can get some alone time with her favorite professor.
Part.2
Natasha never knew that she would enjoy ethics classes as much as she did but thanks to professor. Maximoff she enjoyed the classes very much, always putting in extra effort on every assignment, hand always raised when a question was asked and it all was for the warmth flooding her stomach when she caught professor. Maximoff’s proud eyes and the praises she always received.
She wasn't even sure when her infatuation started, if it was on the first day when Ms. Maximoff walked into the classroom, adorning a maroon suit that fitted her just right or if it was when she had reviewed her first essay, when she had received a blinding smile and a praise that did unspeakable things to her.
Professor. Maximoff had started occupying her every thought after that, she had even started putting extra effort into her outfits, wearing shorter skirts, tighter shirts just in the hopes of Wanda bending her over her desk and taking her right then and there.
She had even pulled out her secret weapon, giving her professor those eyes that make everyone weak in the knees, lips pursing into a pout and she knew that it had worked when she saw how Wanda’s eyes darkened every time she did it.
Natasha had stopped putting in the effort towards her essays by the end of her semester and she knew that her professor was worried, maybe even disappointed so it didn't come as a surprise to her when she was asked to stay after class.
“Ms. Romanov, I'm not sure if you want the help but your grades are slipping and I would love to help you, give you extra lessons” her professor looked at her with the softest eyes and she almost felt bad for worrying her but her plan had obviously worked.
“Thank you, professor, I would really appreciate it. '' The smile she received in reply made it all worth it as her professor took a seat on the desk in front of her and leaned forward, giving the younger woman a perfect view down her cleavage.
“Great, is it okay if we take the lessons after the end of your day? We can figure out the fine print then, you know where my office is, right?” Natasha really tried to not stare and forced her eyes down to her desk instead, forgetting to answer in the process.
“Natasha?” she could practically hear the smile in Miss. Maximoff’s tone and froze, had she been caught?
“Yes, miss?” She then felt a hand under her chin, forcing her eyes up to meet the older woman's and it was then she saw the slight smirk on her face and she was sure that she was blushing by now.
“Do you know where my office is?” Of Course she does, she hadn't been there often but it was enough to fuel her fantasies.
“Yes, professor” Wanda nodded and smiled as she rose to stand up, Natasha followed her movements carefully and moved to stand up herself.
“Good, I’ll meet you there then” the student nodded and walked to the door, closely followed by Wanda.
“Goodbye ms. Romanov” Natasha smiled at her, already giddy at the prospect of having more alone time with her favorite teacher.
“Goodbye professor. Maximoff” she didn't even try to hide her giddiness when she met up with her friends who all gave her strange looks.
“What's up with you?” Bucky was the one to confront her.
“I have a study date” she saw everyone frown and she got it, who in their right mind would be excited to study?
“And that's a good thing, how?” Yelena was the one to ask this time, still visibly confused.
Natasha just smiled, “it's with ms.Maximoff” she saw how it clicked in everybody’s mind and some of them groaned.
“God you're whipped, seriously why are you risking your grades for her?” Sam frowned at his friend, he didn't really get it but he had also never met her.
“I'm not risking anything, I can get my grades up when I so please but for now, I'm taking (r: spending) my time with her” she saw how they all rolled their eyes but ignored them.
“Anyways I'm going to my next class, see you guys later?” She made her way to her last classes as the others bid her goodbye and all she wanted was for the day to be over so she could spend some time with her favorite professor.
The time passed amazingly fast and it wasn't long before she was standing outside her professor’s office, slightly out of breath from running as she knocked on the door.
Natasha’s breath was caught in her throat as soon as the door opened, Wanda’s long brown hair was pulled into a low ponytail and she had gotten rid of her suit jacket, there was an unnecessary amount of buttons undone on her shirt, giving her a perfect view of her chest.
“Good evening ms. Romanov” Professor. Maximoff’s tone seemed almost knowing but her smile showed nothing.
“Good evening, professor” she smiled back as the older woman moved aside to let her in, Natasha walked to the desk standing in front of the windows, bending over to set her bag down on the floor by one of the chairs, smiling to herself when she felt the others eyes on her.
She knew that her skirt was way too short and she was honestly surprised that she hadn't been dress coded, she also knew that her bending over would lead to her privates being exposed, something that she would be mindful of in most cases but it was something she counted on in this case.
“So, professor, where do we start?” she turned back around to meet Wanda’s now much darker eyes.
“Take a seat, ms. Romanov” Natasha could only nod as she took a seat on the chair next to her, legs crossing in front of her.
She could hear the clicking of her professor's heels as she circled the desk to sit on her chair, comfortably leaning back in her seat as she intently watched the younger woman.
“Do you want to tell me why your grades are slipping?” Right, she would have to come up with a believable excuse.
“I’ve just had a hard time focusing” Ms. Maximoff’s eyebrows raised and she nodded slowly, probably unsure on if to believe her or not.
“Really? Because I’ve talked to your other professors and your grades are at the top of the class, all classes except mine” She really shouldn't have thought that it would work but she wouldn't sell herself out this early.
“I'm sorry, miss, I’ll work on it” Wanda only gave her a short smile and moved to stand up, walking to stand behind her, her hands coming to rest on her shoulders.
“You know, I’ve noticed your eyes on me, lingering longer than necessary and those skirts, it's like you’re begging me to bend you over right here” Natasha’s whole body trembled with need and she did her best to contain her whine when those hands moved lower, gripping and squeezing at her chest.
“Just look at you, is this what you wanted? Your professor bending you over and fucking you like the little slut you are?” The younger woman couldn't contain her whines anymore, not when Wanda had pulled her shirt up, hands pinching and twisting at her nipples.
“Please, miss” she could hear a laugh right next to her ear and next thing she knew she was pulled up and bent over the desk, a hand roughly gripping her ass.
“Aww you're dripping already, did I do this to you?” two fingers were running over the wet spot on her panties, pressing down on her clit for a short moment but long enough for her hips to start chasing the feeling.
“And this skirt, I couldn't take my eyes off of you today” the older woman groaned out and her panties were suddenly ripped off of her, her gasp quickly turns into a moan when the same fingers run through her folds.
Wanda leans over her, pressing against her back and her other hand comes up to wrap around her throat. “Do you think you can keep quiet for me?”
The older woman had pulled her up against her front, Natasha’s head coming up to rest against her shoulder.
And really, she couldn't help the needy moan that left her when two fingers pushed into her and she wasn't surprised when the hand on her throat came up to clamp over her mouth, doing something to muffle the moans she lets out when Wanda starts a punishing pace.
“I need you to keep quiet for me” it's the way it's said right into her ear, her professor’s dark raspy voice filling her ears that makes everything so much more intense.
It's the way she can feel Wandas deep breaths against her neck, and the way she places kisses against it, harsh and possessive, surely leaving marks, she loves it, loves everything about the way Wanda fucks her.
Her hips start to privot back against the older woman, desperately trying to find her release, and she could feel Wanda grin against her throat before biting down and curling her fingers.
The moan she let out was nothing short of unholy, even with the slight muffle of her professor's hand it is still loud enough for the outside to hear.
“Shut up” it's hissed into her ear and she really tries to but it's simply impossible, every sensation of the older woman made it impossible for her to keep quiet.
She could feel herself clenching around Wanda’s fingers and she knew that her professor could tell with how she sped up the slightest bit and fucked her harder against the desk.
“Cum for me, doll” and how could she not obey? She could feel herself nod against Wanda’s hand, her movements becoming sloppy and desperate as she let herself cum with a scream.
Wanda worked her through her orgasm with soft kisses on her neck and cheeks, anywhere she could reach really and her sweet praises.
“You did so well for me, angel” her professor had pulled out of her before moving to her chair, carefully pulling Natasha with her and placing her onto her lap, a comforting hand running up and down her back and soft kisses left all over.
Natasha just cuddled further into her, resting her head against the crook of Wanda’s neck, craving her touch.
She couldn't help but to leave kisses all over the older’s neck before biting down and surely leaving a mark.
Natasha could feel more than hear Wanda’s chuckle but didn't stop her ministrations until her whole neck was covered in marks.
And she knew that in the moment, she wouldn't have it any other way and could only hope that Wanda felt the same way.

I love Marvel, it sparks joy. It makes me happy when I feel down and, though I can have critical opinions about the shows and movies and things I tend to lean more towards appreciating the positives. Along with that, though, there is a critical opinion I’ve been consistently having with the last few projects and I know it’s not a unique opinion but here we go anyway. (I just wanted that preface that I love these shows and movies and this isn’t a “marvel sucks now” post because honestly it doesn’t and the characters they are introducing are actually really freaking good and interesting and the stories are fun it’s just a reoccurring thing that’s been bothering me ANYWAY!) I really liked Secret Invasion when it was the spy thriller stuff or the character driven heart to heart scenes. But, when is Marvel going to realize that it’s NOT the giant over the top, CGI (where you can tell they forced the artists to rush and didn’t pay them enough for) fights that most marvel fans come there for? It’s the character driven action with stakes that matter, complicated heart-felt characters, and interesting character dynamics that make Marvel projects good. This might just be what makes me love Marvel and not what makes others drawn to it, but my favorite Marvel projects all have an incredible heart to them and the action stems from really high stakes fueled by emotion or that are essential to the plot. The bridge fight in Winter Solider, the Steve and Tony fight in Civil War, the last fight in Endgame, the Peter and Green Goblin fight in No Way Home. And with the TV shows, it’s the emotional gut punch of seeing Wanda confront her trauma, the getting to know of Kamala and her family and friends, the exploration of Steven and Marc, the discussion of racism and ptsd through Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, Loki’s personal discovery and the formation of his bond with Mobius and Sylvie. You can have the big action sequences but when they feel unnecessary or confusing then it detracts from the more human moments. Anyway, Marvel I love you please pay and treat your CGI artists better thank you so much.

Headcanon: Clarimonde as a witch
When thinking about Clarimonde being a witch I started to think of Loki in norse mythology but also Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch from the Marvel comics. Clarimonde’s role as a witch
Clarimonde will be a witch connected to nature, changes and growth while they learn to walk their own path in life. While figuring themself out they might or might not want to help others and show kindness despite their violent past. I believe their role will look different depending on the starting point. If Clarimonde is still heavily influenced by the cult’s teachings their role as a witch can be destructive and based on a selfish belief system. But if Clarimonde for one reason or another wants to change it will affect how they view and use magic as well. The core issue with Clarimonde is that they struggle to make personal connections and are starving for love, mainly platonic but can also be romantic love. They also struggle with their own identity since the cult has brainwashed its members to mainly serve the chosen deity Blood Father while working for a collective identity. Redeeming arc The theme of redemption is rebirth. In a redeeming arc they will carry a lot of guilt mixed with doubts about themself and their place in the world as a witch. A part of Clarimonde feels like they cannot be redeemed because of the horrific acts they had done. How can someone who has slaughtered people with glee live normally in a society? Do they have any right to still live and help others with their new abilities? It’s a big responsibility and something they have never been taught. What fuels Clarimonde’s desire to walk the narrow path is their childhood dream of becoming a preacher but instead of using it to spread violence they want to do good deeds.
At the start they will make many mistakes as well as selfish deeds. Clarimonde will learn the hard way that magic has its own set of rules that need to be followed or else there will be heavy consequences.
Inspirations
Here I want to point at Loki who per say is not entirely connected to nature as far as we know, though the scholars have different opinions about his place in norse mythology. From what I’ve heard Loki can very well be connected to chaos but also changes since he is a deity who always creates and solves problems. It’s thanks to him Thor has his hammer, Odin got his horse Sleipnir, Frey has the ship Skidbladnir among other things. He has great value among the Gods and is often mentioned in stories but at the same time they have distrust for him. Loki kickstarts a series of events that lead to the beloved Balder’s death, the sun is swallowed which lead to twelve years of winter and then the ship Nagelfar steered by the death Goddess Hel arrives as well as hordes of soldiers. Ragnarok is known as “The twilight of the Gods” where many of the known deities are killed in battle before the world is ending and a new era of men and Gods starts. I’ve heard one theory that the story about Ragnarok, if it’s not entirely made up my christian monks, could be a story about seasons changing and rebirth as the sun returns again. It would fit very well as the nordic winters at the time were dangerous periods of cold, darkness and death.
Using magic Magic is not entirely good or evil, magic is magic and as I mentioned before each spell or curse has its own rules. There can be grave consequences if one breaks rules or makes mistakes but a spell in itself can be dangerous towards the spell caster or the ones getting hit by the spell. Since Clarimonde never studied magic before they are first obvious to the things happening. They can’t understand or control it which creates dangerous situations. Trying out spells without grasping the basics would be like handing out chemicals to toddlers. Clarimonde wasn’t born with magic but was for one reason or another hit with it by accident from a magical storm cloud. There is some magical electricity which moves along their skin and has taken place in them. At the start of the journey they are like a massive magnet to all forms of magic as their gate is wide open. Knowledge is seeping into their mind without any form of filter, some things come in fragments, half a spell or half a story. They can sense things in the air. Suddenly they know that there is war on a continent they have never heard of, the wind brings them memories from places or there are instructions on how to enter someone's mind. Other times Clarimonde accidentally walks outside their own body while sleeping and is fully aware of doing so or they can transform people into animals.
As the gate is open constantly I imagine it would attract magical beings from other realms with less than friendly intentions. It could open up for experiences they don’t want to deal with, like spirits of dead people whispering in their ear at night or some ghoul trying to grab their foot. The gate will be open until they learn how to close it off.
Since there is a strong connection to nature and magic their own emotions or silent wishes come through with magic. If they are scared there is a turbulence in nature itself with large cracks, shakings or buildings being destroyed. When Clarimonde has a strong wish to become a preacher with a community built with their own hands they suddenly have a filled church but it’s up to them if people decide to stay or leave.
When I write about characters with powers I always want to make sure it’s not too easy for them. My characters either make horrible mistakes or are burdened with something which makes it hard for them to use powers. When it comes to Clarimonde I want to make it clear they have no idea how to properly use magic or guard themself from attacks in the beginning. In one moment Clarimonde manages to turn someone into a donkey but if someone tosses a fireball they have no idea how to counter it. A lot of it comes from insecurities, mental trauma and inexperience.
I’ll make another post about what would be Clarimonde’s magical abilities, limits and more details about how it works for them once I’ve developed my thoughts.
Inspirations Wanda Maximoff is a character who has done horrible things and tries to redeem each action with good deeds while also suffering from mental issues.
I’ve only read a few comics about Wanda but I really enjoy the chapters where she tries to help people with magical problems. It feels more occult rather than the classical super power fantasy. Every spell she casts affects her body and there are rules to follow that more resemble folklore’s view on magic. Certain rituals that need to be done at a specific time or place. Things that can protect people from being cursed. Someone having a poltergeist, another who has been taken over by a demon and so on.
She can affect reality by creating sentient beings as stand in sons, she can walk through different realms or take away the powers of every mutant on earth with one sentence. Her skills are gigantic but the lore of magic usage and actions creates a very flawed character which makes her feel more human which I find interesting.
Hopefully I can develop Clarimonde into something interesting and nuanced when exploring their identity as a witch.

You're truly a great writer~ I don't know if you have the time or the inspiration, but could you do a Wanda x mutant!reader where after the iconic and legendary "no more mutants" thingy, Wanda's gf doesn't survive because she needed her powers? And maybe Wanda tries to fix everything? It's totally okay if you can't, or if you need to take your time, truly. Do have a nice day!! <3 and don't forget to drink and eat, please~ and have a proper sleep schedule, too, just a reminder!
a/n: hi!! Thank you so much!! That means a lot to me ❤️Ooo i love this prompt, so much angsty angst. warning(s): angst; major character death; not a happy ending; author might be a bit to dependent on google; not quicksilver friendly (?); short
No More Mutants
Air was sucked out of your lungs, the atmosphere around you chilling your bones. You collapsed onto the ground, clutching your chest as you stared at your girlfriend. The words she spoke resonated throughout your body, her magic stripping you of your lifeline.
No more mutants, she had said.
When Wanda opened her eyes, she examined the chaos before her. Mutants, now mortal, were mourning their lost powers, looking at her with hate. But her eyes quickly fell on you, as you crumbled to the ground. Ignoring the hostile environment around her, Wanda ran to you, gathering you in her arms. Panicked, she cupped your face, her fractured mind yelling at her.
“Y/N? Beba, what- why-”
You couldn’t speak, the energy once fueling you fading away. Your mutation is what kept you alive, without it - you were doomed. All you could do was raise a shaking hand to cover Wanda’s, one last symbol of your love.
Wanda didn’t understand what was happening. She didn’t want to kill anyone, she didn’t want to hurt you. Why was this happening?
The realization hit her like a truck.
Your x-gene didn’t “activate” until you had died a few years earlier. She took away your power, reversing you to your natural, mortal state. Dead.
Wanda’s lips trembled as she planted a kiss on your forehead, almost pulling away in shock when she felt how cold you were rapidly becoming. When she did pull away, she couldn’t hold back a sob when she saw you mouthing ‘I love you’, words unable to be spoken. You squeezed her hand one last time before…
Wanda let out a scream, a blast of power radiating from her body, throwing everyone around her backwards. She pulled you into a hug, your limp body shaking with her cries.
“No, no, I can, I can fix this.” She spoke under her breath, her magic swirling around you. But before she could cast the spell, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Quicksilver looked down at his sister, a blank look on his face. Wanda snarled as she brought you closer to her, shielding your body from him.
“You told me to do this, you told me it would fix everything!”
Quicksilver just shook his head, removing his hand from Wanda.
“You did fix everything, sister. But you cannot fix this, death is not something we play with.”
Wanda’s eyes glowed a dangerous red, her power blasting her brother away from her. She let her magic flow through you once more, snarling at her brother.
“Watch me.”
a/n: ik this is super short and i am very sorry about that!! i love this prompt and enjoyed writing it, i just was afraid of messing up the lore too much but thank you for reading!! I hope you enjoyed it! Bc of the ending, i am willing to write a part 2, if anyone would like that!

Empyrean’s Advent: Day 4
Prompt: “Oh honey you look miserable.”
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Sick Reader
Wordcount: 878
[ Previous || Next ]
‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿ ‿︵‿︵୨˚̣̣̣͙୧ - - ୨˚̣̣̣͙୧‿︵‿︵
“Oh honey you look miserable!” Wanda cooed as she came into your bedroom holding several plastic bags.
She wasn’t wrong either, you were currently slumped up against the headboard, your face flushed with heat. You had been feeling unsteady the night before, but neither you nor Wanda had anticipated that the next morning you would have woken with a raging cold, one so awful you were forced to spendable the majority of the day in a fever-fueled haze practically unable to leave your bed.
Beside your half-empty bottle of water, crumpled tissues littered your nightstand several of which spilling off and forming their own small mound next to the empty box laying on the floor.
“You’re back.” Your voice was a hoarse remnant of its former cheery tone.
Wanda smiled as she hung the coat she was wearing on the back of the door, “It was okay, abit boring without your sarcastic side-comments. Seriously it was so dull that we had to resort to looking at funny-shaped clouds for entertainment. Even Nat was bored, she even told me that when I got home I have to take super good care of you so that you can come back into work asap.”
You gave a small smile at that, “I’ve missed you.” You sniffled and rubbed your nose against your blanket, trying and failing to stave off the itch inside, “Hh-huh’tshhiew!”
“Aw bless you. ” Your fiancé cooed, “You been doing that all day?” She asked, glancing over towards tissue mountain.
“Yeah but I’ve mainly been sleeping.” You mumbled, pulling the blanket around you as your body shivered.
“My poor baby,” Wanda sighed, “I have some things that should help you feel better.” She said with a smile, giving the shopping bags in her hands a light shake.
On one of the bags was the logo of your local pharmacy, and you sat up to get a better view as she came to perch on the edge of the bed, opening the bag infront of you.
Wanda began to take out the first item but you stopped her, raising a hand in the air as your breath caught in your throat, sending you in a fit of chesty coughing, Wanda stared worriedly, hearing your chest rattle and she gently coaxed you to take a sip of water. It seemed to help, you finally stopped coughing however moments later your nose twitched sharply.
“Hup’Tshhiew! Hh…H-Hep’TSSHIEW!”
She pulled out a box of tissues from the bag and set the box in your lap, giving it a tap, “Bless you again. I figured you might need these so I picked up afew boxes, oh and they’re the type with the lotion in them too! It should stop your nose from getting all chapped.”
“Thank you so much.” You gave a relived sigh, opening up the tissues and taking some to blow your nose before watching intently as Wanda dived back into the bag.
She pulled out 2 bottles of colourful liquid, Dayquil and Nyquil and she placed them on your nightstand, “You should probably take some of that before you go to sleep, it’ll help soothe that cough of yours.”
“Oh sweetie you’re amazing,” You sniffled, leaning forward to kiss her. When she reciprocated you tried to move deeper she pulled away, kissing your neck instead and she didn’t miss the small disappointed whine you gave.
“We can do that when you’re better sweetie, as much as I love you Y/N, Im really bot too keep on catching whatever bug you’re down with.”
You yawned widely and sank back down into the bed, “M’kay, I don’t wanna get you sick either, you always so get whiny when your sniffly, it is kinda adorable though.”
“I do not get whiny!” She laughed in a fake-offended tone but moved up to tuck the duvet closely around you, “I have something else for you too.”
“What is it?” You peaked your head over the cover curiously, you must’ve looked like a burrito in that moment, your body snuggly wrapped in blankets while only your head poked out.
Wanda reached down to grab the small brown bag on the floor and pulled something out, “Have a look.”
Your curiosity was peaked, you looked up to see Wanda holding a circular takeout container, steam rising from it. Even through your heavy congestion, you could smell the distinct aroma of Italian chicken soup. And balancing ontop of the container was a cup and you easily recognised the Starbucks logo on the front.
“The Starbucks down the road is selling limited edition ‘Winter Hot-chocolate’ I thought it’d make you feel better.” Wanda smiled, helping you shuffle upwards a little so you could take a sip.
“Oh Wands.” You sighed happily and set the cup down, “Its amazing, everything is. Thank you.”
“No problem baby.” She kissed your forehead before you sunk back into the covers, “Do you want me to pour you a bowl of this?” She signalled to the soup still in her hand.
“Sure but first cuddles,” You patted the empty spot next to you, “Please?”
Wanda smiled and put the soup ontop of your drawers, she could always reheat it later if necessary, “Who am I to deny that request, especially when you’ve asked so nicely.”

Ingrid calls Rachel to tell her that Wanda Jean needs to be at the meeting in person or the whole plan falls apart.
They manage to stall the meeting by having the minutes read out in full.
Jeff sees Ingrid at the meeting and is confused as to why she's there. She tells him she's there to right her wrongs. He starts to guess what she's up to.
Green Leaf calls for a vote of no confidence against Ted. Daddy Min seconds the motion. A vote is now mandatory. The 'ayes' have it with majority approval. Ted throws a tantrum and calls Marty, Ingrid's old boss.
The trio celebrates and Jeff looks proud of his lady love.
Daddy Min becomes Acting Chair. His first order of business? To make Z the new Chair of SunCorp. It passes with more applause.
We get this interesting cut showing Jeff looking back at Ingrid as she's applauding Z and I wonder if the show runners were hinting at some future romantic rivalry there. I read an interview with the show runner and with Z's actor (both of which were made before cancellation) and both were kinda coy about the possibility.
Ingrid asks Jeff if he's angry about her hostile take over. He's not mad, just in awe of how much of baddie she is. But he's happy to be working with Z Min in the future instead of Fossil Fuel Ted.
He tells her he loves her for how bonkers she is. She doesn't jump to say it back, but seems pleased. His phone rings, interrupting them.
Ingrid meets up with Tyler and Rachel. She learns that Rachel is going ahead with writing classes in her spare time and that Tyler slept with his new boss' CFO.
They agree that while none of them made partner, they're going to be more than okay.
Marty Adler shows up, smoke blowing out of his nose. He's pissed at Ingrid for vanquishing Fossil Fuel Ted.
Ingrid faces her old boss with a new spring in her step. Marty threatens to have her blacklisted with every law firm in New York.
Z shows up and tells Marty that as Chair of SunCorp, he insists that Ingrid be their representative at Parsons. Ingrid tells Marty he also needs to embed diversity and inclusion at all levels up to and including partnership (i.e., stop only promoting the white guys).
Marty tells Z about Ingrid's time in jail like she was public enemy number 1. Z gives no shits, but Ingrid wonders how Marty could know about that.
Z thanks Ingrid and tells her they're going to do great things together.
Ingrid catches up with Marty.
Marty is angry that Ingrid didn't let the firm know she needed to be bailed out. I know nothing about working in a law firm. Yesterday I had to double-check if 'law firm' was one word or two. But this seems like a massive over-reaction. She was wrongfully arrested, and the charges were immediately dropped.
She asks how he knows about her night in jail. Three guesses.
Jeff told him.
Bruh.
Ingrid stands there in shock, staring at Jeff as Florence and the Machine's My Love plays. Another banger! I pause Netflix and switch to Spotify to listen to the whole song. I am totally not trying to delay the end of my new hyper fixation.
I've softened on Jeff/Ingrid considerably. I'm even actively mourning the fact that if they’d been better written from the start and had a better backstory, I probably would've shipped them.
Ingrid is floored by his apparent betrayal. Jeff sees her and he gives her this weird look that I can't decipher.
Cut to black.
And that's it. Wow.
Partner Track. Episode 10. Season (and Series) Finale.
Show, I've only really known you for about a week. But I've really enjoyed making fun of you.
Ingrid is passed out on the couch, surrounded by ice cream containers, wine bottles and take out food. I don't know how long it's been since the Gala, but from the debris, I'd say it's been at least a few days.
Z Min calls her and demands to know when she found out that Fossil Fuel Ted was planning to shutter Green Tech. Ingrid admits she's known for a while. He tells her he hopes it was worth it and hangs up.
Jeff shows up. He reveals that it has in fact been two weeks since the party! That means she's been hiding away in stale sweatpants for two thirds of their official relationship. And he's still here?
Wow, maybe he isn't a complete fuckboy.
He tells her the mourning period is over. He's brought food and, in Ingrid's words, is pity cooking for her again. How does she keep finding men who will cook for her? Through in Jeff's defence, he did say he raised his younger siblings and did all the housework when he was a poor little urchin.
Jeff tells her that Tyler got an offer from another law firm. Jeff suggests Ingrid look for a job at a new firm too. Ingrid is angry that she and Tyler are being forced to start-over due to their old firm's bullshit. But Jeff is more of a pragmatist. Idealism doesn't pay the rent. Ingrid replies that the idea of how things should be is why she loves the law.
I wish we'd had conversations like this between them in the first half of the show instead of all that forced sexual tension and no substance. It would've built them up as foils to each other a lot more, paving the way for a stronger storyline.
Jeff tells her that he's leased a new apartment, making his move to New York permanent. She's honestly happy for him. They hug and kiss. He wishes her a Merry Christmas. Ingrid realises that it's Christmas Day and that she forgot to visit her family. Oop!
Opening credits.
Ingrid's parents are begging Lina not to join the circus. She corrects them that it's Cirque du Soleil. Ingrid arrives and they open presents. They've brought her a leather briefcase. They assume she's made partner, and Ingrid drops the news that she quit.
Her dad immediately asks her what she did wrong, and he orders her to apologise and get her job back. Ingrid fires back that she did nothing wrong. They are being way harsher on her than they just were with Lina and her circus dreams. Ingrid walks out. Her mother follows after giving her husband the stink-eye.
Ingrid's mother reminds her that money is security. But Ingrid resents that if she's not the best, her dad doesn't think she's good enough.
She sulks in her old room. Lina stops by and gives her a second present. She tells Ingrid that she remembers the first day Ingrid came home from Harvard. Lina was proud of her then and is proud of her now. Ingrid opens the present. It's a booklet with IOUs for everything Lina owes her big sister.
Lina reminds her that their parents made Ingrid write Lina's application letter to Princeton. It made Lina feel like she couldn't do anything on her own. They admit how envious they've been of each other's role in their family. Lina apologises for stealing the earrings. Ingrid apologises too. Aww.
Ingrid then glances at her graduation photograph featuring her, Tyler and Rachel. I'm so ready for their rift to be over!
Speaking of, Rachel is back at work. She learns that Paralegal Justin has been moved to another floor since Ingrid quit. Nooooooo!
At least his L-SAT book and headphones are still there! 😭
Rachel's old client Wanda Jean is back. She's dressed up and grown up, running her grandma's business like a boss. But her siblings are still trying to get the farm out from under her. Wanda hooked up with an employee who was wearing a goose costume at the time, and someone filmed it. She's being blackmailed with girl on goose porn!
Tyler is redecorating his new apartment. Ingrid texts again, asking to meet. He finally gives in.
Jeff (who's in Ingrid's phone as 'Murphy', which I kinda like because she's probably only called him Jeff a handful of times) wishes her luck and sends her a kiss emoji.
Tyler and Ingrid catch up. He fesses up to cheating on Anthony. Ingrid tells him Jeff is serious about her. Tyler says maybe he was wrong about him (*cough*probablynot!*cough*)
Ingrid apologises for what she did. Tyler tells her he didn't know who was worse - her or Dan.
The answer is Dan. Always. What Ingrid did wasn't cool, and it hurts worse when it's a friend, but come on!
But he starts to come around and forgives her. He tells her the system is the problem and that you can't take down the man.
Ingrid agrees but says 'maybe you can take down a man'.
Rachel is out hunting the blackmailer. She sees an advertisement for playwriting classes and her heart skips a beat. She moves on and hunts down the amateur goose porn pervert. After taking a photo with him, she threatens him with a lawsuit for the blackmail and misuse of the Granny Goose trademark with his costume.
In the end, she offers him $50K to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and gives him the pep talk she needs for herself about not being afraid to chase your dreams.
Oh, Paralegal Justin. You may be (temporarily?) gone, but your goofy motivational spirit lives on.

Bad Blood
Part of Forever & Always (Wandanat x Reader)
(Masterlist)
Summary: The one thing you hated about being a woman. AU where Natasha co-owns a gym and teaches martial arts, Wanda is a lawyer and you work in a doggy daycare.
Warnings: Showering together and period pains.
Wrote this on my period... I'm dead inside. and yes this is titled after a Taylor Swift song.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
WHY?
Why did your body do this to you? You treated it with respect, but obviously it didn't care about that. Every month, for a whole week, your body hated you.
Thanks for telling me I'm not pregnant, it's not like I'm dating two women or anything!
Wanda was lucky when it came to periods, her pain went from nothing to a few cramps that didn't last long. Natasha, your other girlfriend, unfortunately had to have her uterus removed due to a medical condition when she was a teenager. Although she no longer experienced it, she knew what it felt like before and felt for you.
Which was why both of them were always there for you. Your mood swings were bad, your cramps were bad, (passed out quite a few times from the pain), and life was bad. Usually your boss was understanding though, letting you do easy work instead of taking the dogs for walks. Or, if it was really bad, you'd take a day off, which you didn't have to do today since it was Sunday.
Sunday was probably your favourite day since all three of you were off work. And since the two of them were home, they took care of you.
"Ughhhh," you groaned into Natasha's chest. You really didn't want to leave your bed, you were too cozy snuggled against Natasha.
"Cmon darling, you've got to eat," Wanda said, holding a tray which carried a bowl of soup. Natasha's hand stroked your back lovingly as she spoke.
"Babe, we can go back to cuddling as soon as you eat something, yeah? It's the soup Wanda makes that you like,"
Like? More like love. You had to admit that Wanda's soup made your mouth water just thinking about it. You turned your head slowly, eyeing the soup and then Wanda. She was smiling, happy knowing you couldn't resist the bowl of deliciousness.
Ignoring the slight pain as you sat up, you helped Wanda place the tray on your lap, grinning at the smell. Wanda sat next to you as you ate, warning you not to eat so fast.
After you had eaten it, Wanda went to wash up and Natasha suggested a shower.
"Ughhhh, I don't wanna move," you whined, flopping dramatically against Natasha. She chuckled and you whined even more, like a grumpy toddler.
"Carry me?" you asked in a small voice. Natasha almost audibly awww'd at you, but refrained herself. "Of course, baby," she replied, gently picking you up. Since Natasha worked at a gym, it was no surprise her arms were beefy, but your eyes widened, jaw dropped and you died of gayness in that very moment. She smirked as she noticed your state. Her big ego only had to be fueled by you and Wanda obsessing over her muscles. It made her feel good about herself.
She called out Wanda's name, asking if she wanted to join to which Wanda replied "I'll be there in a minute,"
Once in the bathroom, Natasha made sure the shower temperature was just right before helping you undress. You didn't really need help with it, but you definitely weren't going to push her away.
"You want me to wash your hair?" the redhead questioned, hands ready to pull her own shirt off.
"Yes please, Nat,"
This is why you loved her so much. When you or Wanda were on your period, she'd be there for anything. Happy to do anything to make you feel better. You really hoped she knew you'd do the same for her if the circumstances were different.
As she stepped in the shower, you couldn't help but admire her naked form. You weren't turned on, but she was just so damn gorgeous.
"Thanks, you're not so bad yourself,"
Wait, did you say that out loud? Dammit, now that dumb, beautiful signature smirk was on her face.
"You're both beautiful," came a slight Sokovian accent from outside the shower. You watched in awe as a naked Wanda stepped in. You had seen them without clothes many times, but every time you always thought you were the luckiest person in the world.
You almost cried with happiness for the next 40 minutes which was spent washing and holding each other. The feeling of Natasha and Wanda's hands in your hair, lightly scratching your scalp brought you to heaven.
When you all got out, Natasha wrapped you in a towel and you three got dried off and put some comfy clothes on.
You laid down on the couch, holding Wanda against you, the warmth making you both smile.
"You're like my own personal hot water bottle," you murmured into her head whilst Natasha made hot chocolate.
"Glad to be of service," she said, turning her head to place a kiss on your cheek. As she settled back down, Natasha placed the mugs full of hot chocolate on the table in front.
"Hope you aren't forgetting about me," Natasha playfully said, moving yours and Wanda's legs so she could sit down at the end of the couch, before placing them over her lap.
"Of course not, how could I forget the woman that does anything I ask?" Natasha rolled her eyes and grabbed the TV remote, putting on your comfort movie.
You sighed in bliss, eventually falling asleep to the TV, Natasha gently rubbing your leg, and Wanda's calm breathing.

The Key to Your Heart {Part 10 of 18}
Pairing: Bucky Barnes X Reader | The Winter Soldier X Reader
Chapter word count: 2.3 K
Summary: Joining the Avengers wasn't on your plans. Not until Steve asked you to help his best friend. Bucky was Bucky, but the Winter Soldier still came from time ti time, bringing with him chaos and destruction. And you was supposed to keep that side of him away... But what happens when both Bucky and the Winter Soldier start to enjoy your company more than anyone else? Should you turn your back on the Soldier, ignore his own fears and traumas? That's exactly what everyone wants. But you were never known for following orders...
<- Previous part (09)
Next part -> (11)
{Marvel Masterlist}
For You
Once again you wake up with Nat banging on your door. Bucky has been here for almost a month after the Soldier remained for about that same time. And as usual, the moment Bucky returned, you went back into the training routine you two had. And that's good because you're getting much better thanks to him. And of course, you love the time you spend with him.
But you keep making the same damn mistake. The two of you finish training, but stay there, talking about everything and nothing until the dark sky starts turning blue again, announcing that the morning is coming. And that means you almost always sleeping in.
“Morning.” You tell Nat when you leave the room, pinning your hair up in a ponytail.
“Didn't you set the–” She stops talking when thunder breaks through, its lighting coming in through the glass windows. At this point, it doesn't even startle you anymore. “Didn't you set the alarm?”
“I did. Just didn't hear it.” Covering your mouth when a yawl comes, Nat puts an arm around your shoulder.
“I don't mind you training with Bucky off the record, but you have to keep up with the official routine.” You look at her, now moving downstairs. When did she find out? “Yeah, I know about you two. And that's actually good that you're training harder, but you need to keep up with the rest. Remember that everyone has to vote ‘yes’ to you being ready before you get any mission. Even a simple one.”
“I know. I don't think I'll ever be ready.”
“No negative thoughts.” She rubs your arm, and you look at her with a smile. “You're an Avenger now. And you're strong enough to do this, you're getting better.”
“Well, at least I'll have all of you to have my back when I'm out there in action.” Turning around, you give a few steps backward. “Now I'll get myself some fuel and greet the thunder guy who hasn't shown up in forever!” Shouting the last sentence, you and Nat part ways as she goes to the gym and you move to the kitchen.
“Did someone mention a thunder guy?” Thor yells, and you're swept off your feet the moment you step inside the kitchen.
“Oh, here he is.” You smile, happily hugging him back until he finally puts you down. “I didn't hear you coming at all.” In a sarcastic tone, you make your way to the kitchen island, where the boys, Bucky, Steve, and Sam, are.
“Someone is jealous,” Sam mutters in a silly melody.
“Sam, why don't you mind your own damn business?” Bucky mutters as you walk over him, a hand around his shoulders.
“You didn't deny it.” Sam snaps.
“Thor is a dear friend of mine.” You speak up, bending over to place a kiss on Bucky's cheek. “And since the jerk comes only once in a lifetime I happen to miss him a lot.” Thor came here three times, and he doesn't stay very long, just a couple of days. And he's fun to be around, so you befriended him quickly. “But not my type.” You whisper this last part to Bucky alone before sitting on the empty chair beside him. “Oh, waffles. Who did those?” You ask, already serving yourself.
“Cinnamon waffles. Your favorite.” Steve answers, and you wink at him as a thank you since your mouth is already full. “Wanda's doing.”
“I never ate that,” Thor says, taking a waffle with his bare hand and taking a huge bite. “Oh, this is good.” With his mouth still full, he nods. “Too sweet for my taste, but good.”
“You should give us a feast with Asgardian food.” You suggest, taking a sip from your drink.
“Great idea, Lady (Y/N).” He points a finger at you, smiling, and then he looks up. “Heimdall, don't let me forget that.”
“Heimdall?”
“He's the Gatekeeper of Asgard,” Thor says after another bite. “He can see and hear everything.”
“Really?”
“Really.”
Raising an eyebrow, you exchange a glance with Bucky before looking at the ceiling. “Hi, Heimdall. What's up?” You wait for a while, but no answer comes, so you look at Thor.
“He said hi.”
“That was everything he said?”
“The short version.” He shrugs his shoulders, and you roll your eyes.
“Well, I don't know about you Thunderboy, Supersoldier one and two, and guy with mechanical wings, but I must learn how to be an Avenger.” Drinking the rest of your lemonade, you stand up. “Who's joining me?” You can't help but roll your eyes again when everyone starts moving. If they're at home and have nothing important to do, the Avengers will watch you training. It was a pain in the ass in the beginning, but you grew used to it. And it's good because everyone has tips you can use.
“Let's get going,” Bucky says on your ear, just as you did to him earlier. When you look at him, he's standing up straight again.
“You're a teaser.”
“Just a little payback.”
“Sit and wait then dreamboat.” In a threatening tone, you hold his arm, offering him a smile. “You're on my radar.”
“I'm shaking like a leaf.”
“You better be.”
•••
Training goes well as always. Your fighting skills are getting exponentially better - thanks to your night shift with Bucky - and you've been controlling your powers a lot better too. On the shield mode, or as they're calling it, S-Mode, you're creating a bigger one, in a rectangular shape, that protects your entire body. And it's rock-solid, to the point you can even push it forward to surprise the enemy hitting him right on the nose. Sam didn't like the way he found out that strategy.
The only new thing about today is that Wanda says she believes you can fly. By her experience, you might be able to push yourself up and stay there. But pushing yourself up from the solid ground is one thing, keeping the focus on the air currents is far different. But she wants you to start training this skill soon.
It's past 2 pm when you stop, take a quick shower, and head to the dining room to have a late lunch. You're halfway through dessert when Tony comes back after he left to check on something F.R.I.D.A.Y said to be urgent. And by the look on his face, it was certainly something.
“Alright, everyone. I've got news. Not the good kind of news.” He says, typing something on his tablet. “US military reached a dead end in an operation on drug trafficking. Again.”
“Sounds like a mission,” Nat says, not seeming bothered by it, still focused on finishing her slice of lemon pie.
“It does.” With a click on his screen, a holographic, 3D map appears right above the table, in shades of blue. You can see everything, like you're hovering above the place, watching it with your own eyes. “The information we have is that there's a cartel trafficking extremely pure cocaine into the US. That and some highly fatal methamphetamine.” With a movement of his hand, the map speeds up, stopping above the city. “This is where this cartel is, Ciudad Juárez, near New Mexico. The military has men every mile of the border with Texas, but the drugs are still coming into the US.”
“Doesn't seem that complicated,” Steve says, standing up and walking around the table, arms crossed. “They could be going underground.”
“That's my idea too, but we have another issue.” A few more clicks and the map is gone, replaced by floating screens with images and videos of people from a small town being beaten up, violently questioned and taken, pushed into the back of military vehicles. “We have a humanitarian issue. Everyone they take says they don't know anything about the drugs. They have no names, nothing.”
“And by the looks of it, nobody believes them.” You mutter, looking away when you see a kneeling woman being kicked in the face.
“They don't. But how is it possible that all the investigations lead to people who have no idea of what's going on?”
“Because they're taking the wrong line of investigation, to begin with.” You answer Tony, shrugging your shoulders. “There's always a way to know if people are lying. And honestly, a civilian would definitely tell everything they know to avoid being beaten up like that.”
“Exactly. And that's why this should be your first mission.”
Looking at Tony, you raise your eyebrows. “Are you for real?”
“If every member present here agrees you're ready for it.”
You look around, biting your lip and unable to control your excitement. “Guys?”
“I think she's ready,” Thor says, smiling at you.
“You're not even here to watch her training, you don't have a say on it,” Stave complains, suddenly super serious.
“The rule is clear. All the present Avengers have a vote and Thor is here, so...” You stand up, moving to stand behind Bucky, hands on his shoulders. You know he'll vote yes... If he can come as well. “Thor has the right to vote and he made his decision clear. What about the rest of you?”
“I think she's ready,” Nat says, and you smile at her. “There are things that the only way learn it being out there.”
“And she has abilities that need to be tested on the battlefield.” Wand nods, and so does Vision. “Our vote is yes.” She speaks after exchanging a glance with her husband.
“It's a yes for me as well,” Sam exclaims, pushing Bucky's arms. “What about you? Scared much?”
“She's not ready,” Bucky says, and your heart sinks a little, which makes you step back, crossing your arms. “Nobody is ready on their first mission. It's always a mess.” He stands up as well turning around to look at you. “But I'll vote yes if I'm assigned to this mission as well.”
“I'm the brother, I'm the one supposed to go and look after her,” Steve says, but Bucky doesn't look away from you.
“I'm not doubting your capacity, I just need to be there. She wants me to be there as well.”
You smile to know that he remembers when you said you'd want him there too, in your first mission. “I do.” Stepping closer, you hold his arm, turning your body towards your brother. “I know part of you thought this wouldn't happen. You're protective and I'm just a human girl with powers I'm just now learning to use for my advantage and protection, but I know I can do it. And if anything happens, I'll have two super soldiers there to keep me safe.”
“I don't know, (Y/N). You're here because of me and if anything happens to you-”
“I'm here because of me, Steve.” You cut him off, letting go of Bucky to walk over your brother. “Tony invited me, then you did, but I made the decision. And if I feel ready to do this now, because you know I didn't before, it's because I feel that I'm strong enough. I'm scared, of course, but being scared means I have the chance to be brave.” Smiling, you hold both his shoulders. “You jumped on a grenade, Stevie boy. I will always be inspired by that little guy from Brooklyn, too stupid to let things go.”
“You always mention that when you want me to let you do something.” He says with a smile, sighs, and then finally nods. “I vote yes.”
“My vote is yes in case anyone cares.” Tony says, looking up from the screen. “(Y/N), Steve, Wanda and I.”
“And Bucky.” You add, chucking at this dramatic eye roll.
“The rule is that I can only allow people who aren't assigned to a mission to go if they're anyway related to the someone who has been assigned.” He looks up from the tablet, at you, and then at Bucky. “Blood-related or in any kind of relationship.”
“Oh, screw you, Tony, that was never a rule.” With cheeks burning, you leave the kitchen, making sure to bump into Tony, to which he makes a funny comment you ignore.
You have a lot in your mind to deal with right now. Being ready to test your training on the field doesn't mean you're not nervous.
In your bedroom, you start packing up. You pick one single luggage, the biggest you have, laying it on your bed and folding everything you need before placing it down.
“Hey.” Bucky says, and when you look at the door, you see him coming inside. “You left it open.”
“I didn't notice.” You say, turning your attention back at your clothes.
“(Y/N).” Bucky walks over you, taking the shirt you're folding from your hands and putting it down, forcing you to stop and look at him. “Come here.” With that, he pulls you into a hug, strong arms creating a protective cage around your smaller figure. “I'll be right there with you, no need to be anxious.”
He knows you very well. He doesn't even have to ask. “I know. I just... I always wanted to help people and now that I'm actually doing it I'm scared I'll mess up.”
“That's natural. I felt all that on my first mission as well, back in the 40s. But with time you'll get the hang of it and you'll get more confident.”
“Yeah...” With your arms embracing his midsection, you have your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. “Thank you for being there with me, but...” Pulling away, you look up at him. “I know it can be hard sometimes, to be on the field again. So you don't–”
“I'll be there for you, that's not debatable.” He says, pulling you against his chest again.
“Thank you, Bucky.

“Another drink, miss?” The waiter in a smart, black tux asked you for the second time this evening, a part of you felt that it was out of pity as you sat alone at a table for two, and had been for the last two hours.
You were supposed to be meeting your girlfriend tonight for date night, you got all dressed up, makeup applied and hair styled perfectly, which had taken forever, only to be stood up. You wouldn’t have overly minded if this was a first occurrence, you would’ve brushed it off and rescheduled for another night. Which is what you had done, two missed date nights ago.
This was your third night of sitting alone in a crowded, candlelit restaurant as couples around you glanced over with a sympathetic gaze, which had only made you feel worse. Your girlfriend should be here. ‘Natasha should be here’, you thought. You looked up at the kind waiter, giving him a gentle smile before shaking your head.
“No, thank you. I think I'm calling it a night.” You spoke as you hurried to gather your things and get out of there as soon as possible, trying to hold back tears that you refused to let fall, not in front of all of these strangers. You hated this. You hated feeling so exposed. So vulnerable. You couldn’t help but feel anger bubble inside of you, thoughts of Natasha being the only thing currently plaguing your mind, most along the lines of; ‘What was her excuse this time?’ ‘Who is she with instead?’, but, there was one in particular that you couldn’t help but focus on.
‘She promised.’
You hadn’t realised you were crying until you were in the taxi, catching a glimpse of yourself in the rearview mirror when the driver had adjusted it slightly to see the cars behind you, in the process, you’d also caught her eyebrows raise in concern and it wasn’t long before she started conversation.
“You okay back there?”
You laughed somewhat bitterly, but it wasn’t towards her. “Nothing I can't handle.”
Your response didn’t seem to settle her worry as she turned quickly and shot you a sad smile before returning her eyes to the road.
“Boy troubles?”
“Girl.” You rubbed your face, trying to rid yourself of any tear stains that may be lingering and messing up your once really pretty makeup. Not that it really mattered at this point.
“Ah, been there.” She held up her left hand, showing you the shimmering diamond on her finger. “The wife and I have had our fair share of arguments and fallouts, some of them included a situation like this one.”
“Crying in the backseat of a taxi?”
“Crying in the backseat of a taxi.” She laughed lightly, making you smile for the first time tonight.
“It had always worked out though, we’ve never been stronger.”
“Congratulations.” You looked towards the woman “I hope I could be so lucky.” You mumbled, though still loud enough for her to hear. You were mad at Natasha, more disappointed really, but you still loved her, dangerously so. She could stand you up for another 50 dates, and you’d still be head over heels. Angry, but your love would never falter.
“I’m sure you will be. If there’s one thing I've learned over the years, it’s that things have a way of falling into place eventually.”
Pondering her words, you looked out of the car window and noticed that you were pulling up to Stark Tower. It wasn’t long before the car came to a complete stop, the woman turning round to you and beginning to speak again.
“You’ll be okay. It’s obvious you love her, okay? Speak to her. I’m sure it’ll be alright.” She looked at you with nothing but kindness in her eyes, which you did your best to return with a smile. You reached into your purse, handing her the money owed, plus a tip.
“Thank you for the help.”
“Don’t worry about it, go get her.” She winked as you got out of the car and watched her drive away, quickly taking yourself inside to avoid freezing to death as the cold wind blew harshly. Kicking your heels off, you set off with one task at hand. Talk to Nat.
__________________________
“Hey, have any of you guys seen Nat?” You addressed some members of the team who were hanging out in the Kitchen, fixing themselves a snack or just conversing with one another. The second they looked up and took in their appearance, you could’ve sworn their faces paled and saddened slightly as if they knew what had happened.
“I think I saw her head off to train a while ago, but I'm not sure if she’s still there.” Carol replied, her face morphing into one of seriousness. She knew about the missed dates, having found you one night looking completely defeated in one of your nicest dresses and heels. She, alongside Wanda, who had found you both later that night, had spent their night comforting you and reassuring you that she probably hadn’t meant it. They didn’t know what to do, they’d never seen you look so sad before, no matter how much you told them it was okay, the pang in their chest for their best friend hadn’t ceased.
You nodded, quietly thanking Carol and wandered off in search for your girlfriend.
It didn’t take long, she was still training when you’d walked into the gym, sweat practically pouring off of her. Your heart softened briefly when you saw her, her fiery red hair tied back into a ponytail with loose strands all over the place, wearing a black t-shirt, grey sweatpants and a deadpan face as she attacked the dusty punching bag with such force that you’re surprised it hasn’t flown off of the chains yet.
She hadn’t noticed you had walked in, still giving all of her focus to her punches. Maybe she just hadn’t heard you?
“Hi Nat.”
Nothing.
“Nat”
All you could hear was the furious rattling of chains, still not getting a response from the redhead. With a sigh, you decided to try another approach. You stepped closer to her, still keeping a little distance, and leaned forward to tap her shoulder, instantly grabbing her attention. She flung herself around, arm still in midair, her closed fist almost coming into contact with your face.
You don’t know what you expected when she turned around and finally acknowledged your presence, but you definitely didn’t expect to be met with a scowl.
“Seriously? in the middle of training? I could’ve hit you.” She huffed as she turned back to her previous position.
“Sorry. I just wanted to come in and talk to you.”
“About?”
You paused, expecting her to look at you again, but she didn’t.
With a small sigh, you continued. “you missed date night again. I waited for you, but you were a no show.”
“Right, yeah, date night” she muttered, seeming to be unfocused as her eyebrows furrowed and her head kept darting around the room, looking anywhere but at you. “I’ll make the next one.”
“This is the third one you’ve missed this month.” You said firmly, wanting her to understand that this can’t keep happening, of course cancellations or rearrangements were bound to happen sometimes, but she’s just not showing up and then leaving you in the dark as to knowing why.
“I told you, i’ll make the next one.” She walked over to the bench, picking up her water bottle and taking a swig of water, looking directly at you, you look back at her and she just looks so, unbothered.
“I don’t believe you, Nat. You say you’ll make it up to me and then I sit there again, hoping that you’ll be there this time, but you don’t turn up. And now I come back and you’re just training. Could it not have waited? Was that seriously more important?” You raised your voice now, all the anger and frustration you’d felt earlier coming back up to the surface.
You just wanted an explanation, or something to justify how she was acting, but she gave you nothing, not even an attempt, only adding fuel to the fire.
“Why are you getting so annoyed? You should know better than anyone that this is my job.”
“I just explained that to you! Which is more than what you’re giving me right now.”
“Okay, fine, forgive me for not making everything about you for a minute.” She spat bitterly towards you, her temper starting to go as the discussion became more heated.
“Seriously? That’s how you’re seeing this?” If you weren’t so unbelievably irritated, you would’ve laughed at her response.
“You’re being selfish. So I missed a date or two, you’re blowing this out of proportion once again, it’s infuriating.” Selfish?
You raised both your hands, as if in surrender. It was one thing to ditch you, it was another thing to then insult you for speaking up about it. With a tight lipped smile, oozing with sarcasm, you decided that you’d had enough.
“I don’t need to listen to this.”
She shrugged her shoulders, adjusting the gloves she’d just put on. “Then don’t, i’m busy anyways.”. This time, you did laugh.
“What a fucking surprise.”. And with that, you turned on your heels and walked out, hearing the echo of punches fill the room once again, every one feeling like a punch to the stomach.
Maybe these are things falling into place, just not the place you’d hoped.
________________________
You were still in bed at noon the next day, unable to bring yourself to get up and face the world. You didn’t need to worry about anything in the confinement of your bed, even more so considering it wasn’t the bed you shared with Natasha.
After speaking, well, arguing with her last night, you went straight to your shared bedroom, gathered some clothes and your essentials, and slept in your old room that you used to stay in before the two of you started dating. It felt wrong. You always spent your nights with a warm feeling of love washing over you as your girlfriend pressed kisses all over your face, tangling your limbs together in the process.
It wasn’t the same. You felt cold, a type of cold that no heating or blankets could solve. You lacked a weight on your waist, fingertips stroking the skin that was exposed due to your top riding up slightly. Instead, the only comfort you had was the small bear you’ve kept for the las year. It was one that Natasha had given you after she won it at the funfair on your third date, and you could never bring yourself to part with it, remembering how happy she looked when she handed it to you, and the butterflies you felt just from seeing her look so pleased.
The bear was a little worn and torn now, it had been ripped in a couple of places, now replaced with a little sewn on patch of material that didn’t exactly match the shade of brown, and one of the eyes had started to fall off, but you liked that it was different. The assassin had tried to offer to replace it and buy you a new one, but you’d always refuse, insistent that you would keep that bear with you for the rest of time. Even now, when the two of you weren’t speaking, you still held onto it with a death-tight grip.
A knock on the door snapped you out of your daydream.
“Y/N, open up, It’s me.” A familiar voice shouted through. Carol.
“And me!” Wanda.
You heard some muttering outside of the door, something along the lines of Carol suggesting they break the door down, immediately being told that it was unnecessary by the Sokovian. Feeling pretty against the idea of having a doorway with no door, you called out for them.
“Guys, it’s unlocked.” You were quiet, but it was clear that they had heard you as the faint talking stopped altogether and you heard them walk in and shut the door behind them with a ‘click’.
Wanda was the first to approach you, kneeling down beside the bed so that she was at eye level with you, pulling the bed covers down a little to uncover more than your forehead. Once she could see your eyes and nose, she sent you a warm smile.
“Hi sleepy. It’s noon.”
“I know.” She frowned when she heard you speak, your voice raspy from your crying through the night. She hated seeing you like this, she loved both you and Natasha, and it hurt to see you so sad because of the woman you adored.
“We should go and eat something, it’ll help.”
“‘M not hungry.” You pressed your head further into the pillow, the last thing you wanted to do was eat, your stomach already feeling like it was twisting with every minute that passed.
“C’mon, i’ll make you your favourite.” the blonde winked, leaning against your wardrobe.
“Your special pancakes?”
“With extra whipped cream.” She sang, playfully trying to encourage you to leave the bed. You had to hand it to her, she knew you too well.
WIth a brief look between the two, you rubbed your eyes and threw the covers off dramatically, sighing and ensuring that they knew you didn’t approve of this. They knew you were joking, even if you weren’t, all they cared about was making sure you were okay, knowing that when you felt like this, being left alone allows you to neglect yourself and get really low. They don’t mind if you dislike them for a little while, as long as you are looked after.
“There we go! Well done.” Wanda stroked your back and led you towards the door where Carol held it open for you.
“No breaking it down behind my back.” You shot towards her, slightly amused at the guilty look on her face as she realised you’d heard her quarrel beforehand. Shaking her head, she nudged you out of the door, and the three of you made your way into the kitchen.
_______________________
Carol had stuck to her promise of preparing a sweet treat for you, a stack of fluffy pancakes sat in front of you, topped with whipped cream and two cherries on top. You ate slow, still a little cautious of how stable your stomach felt. You could see your two friends talk with one another, not wanting to stare and make you uncomfortable, but occasionally looking over silently to check in on you.
You were feeling pretty content as you sat at the counter, munching away with the two avengers for company. It was only when you heard a voice that you could recognise anywhere.
“Hi guys.”
Not daring to look up, you ket your eyes focused on the food in front of you, hoping that if you just stay quiet, you’ll be invisible to the human eye.
“Hey Nat.”
“Hi.”
Wanda and Carol replied, wary of any interaction between the pair of you that could unfold into something neither of you wanted or that would lead to any regrets.
You lifted your head slightly, able to see the daggers Carol was throwing at Nat, not impressed with her being in the room. You both had always been quite close, often talking about life before becoming superheroes that protect the planet, in her case, planets. In the process, she’d found herself having a soft spot for you, wanting to protect you from anything that could bring you harm. Which you were grateful for, but her glaring was terrifying sometimes, you were more grateful for the fact that her powers weren’t in her eyes, otherwise you would’ve definitely become single five minutes ago.
You could see Natasha out of the corner of your eye, she was filling up the bottle she used for when she was training, her eyes weren’t on what she was doing, instead, she was trying to subtly look up at you through the hood of her eyes. You subconsciously took the opportunity to really take in her appearance.
Her hair hadn’t been tended to since you last saw her, half of it was hanging out of her ponytail, most of it falling in front of her face. Her eyes looked glassy and bloodshot, like she had been crying recently and you could’ve sworn that was your t-shirt she was wearing. The sight sent a wave of sadness over you, wanting nothing more than to leap over the counter and pull her into your arms and tell her things were fine, that the two of you were fine. But you stayed seated, too nervous to make a move.
You didn’t know it, but she regretted speaking to you last night, instantly realising what she’d done after she came back to her room to find it empty and half of your stuff gone. She knew immediately where you’d gone and would’ve gone through to talk it through with you, but she didn’t think it would help. She wanted you to have your time and space before approaching the situation.
With that, she tightened the lid on her bottle, sent you an apologetic smile and walked out of the room, leaving behind an awkward atmosphere in her absence.
“You alright?” Wanda asked
“Yeah, yeah no I'm okay. I’m feeling a little tired though, I'll catch you guys in a bit, okay?” You stood from your seat, not giving either of the two a chance to stop you as you walked out and back to bed. What a day.
_______________________
Hours had gone by now and you were back wrapped up under your bed covers, still clinging onto your bear. You hadn’t bothered to change, you went straight to bed after walking in the door. You’d managed to get some sleep earlier, not a lot, but it was something.
You tossed and turned, trying to find any way of being comfortable so your body could rest and your mind could shut off, but it was deemed to be impossible. All you could think about was your argument with Nat, and how she looked so upset earlier. The thought alone triggered the waterworks again, this time, you didn’t even attempt to stop them.
Only a couple of minutes had passed before there was yet again, another knock on your door. You rolled your eyes, really not wanting any more visitors, you were grateful for the help, but you really wanted to be alone.
“Guys, I’m fine! It’s late, get some sleep.” You called out, waiting to hear retreating footsteps, but they never came. Huh. That’s weird? You brushed it off quickly, assuming that it must’ve just been too quiet to hear, which you wouldn’t put past you due to all the sniffling you’ve been doing in an attempt to silence your crying.
You were wrong. The person at your door hadn’t walked away. They also weren’t Wanda or Carol. Instead, it was who you least expected to be in your room at god knows what time at night after the events that had unfolded recently.
“Hi.” The redhead whispered, worrying that if she spoke any louder, you’d be able to hear her voice shake with nerves, or the huge lump in her throat that wouldn’t budge.
You froze on the spot when you realised who it was, not entirely sure how you were gonna play this. Realistically, you might as well just see what it is she wants, it couldn’t hurt, could it?
“Hey.”
Her footsteps were practically silent but still felt deafening as she stepped closer to you, cringing slightly at how tense and forced all of this felt. It was her fault, she knew that, she hoped you did too. She didn’t want you blaming yourself for her actions, although she couldn’t say anything if you did, she was the one who had insulted you and planted the thought in your head, and she felt every fibre in her body beg for you to forgive her.
Approaching with caution, she walked up to the top of the bed, kneeling where Wanda had been earlier, but unlike Wanda, she didn’t reach out for you. She didn’t feel she had the right. Not now. She quickly took note of your eyes and how they were drooping and red, just like how hers had been earlier, which is how she could know in an instant that you had just been crying. She felt like a knife had gone through her chest at the sight, knowing that she had done that to you. She’d let you down so much that it had brought you to laying in bed alone and crying.
You mumbled something incoherent, completely muffled by the covers that were blocking your mouth.
“Sorry, I couldn’t hear you through the cover, could you tell me that again?”
You looked down a little, debating on doing it or just asking her to leave this conversation for another day. ‘But, she was already here, so you may as well get on with it.’ you thought, and with that, you tugged the covers down a little, letting Natasha see your full face now, unable to stop a tiny hint of a smile creeping up on her face. Your nose was runny, your eyes were puffy, and your face was flushed, but that didn’t change the fact that she still believed you to be the most beautiful woman she’d seen.
“Has something h-happened?” You hiccuped, noticing the frown take over her features as she maintained her eye contact with you.
“Yeah. i was a complete idiot.”
“Nat-”
“No, no, please. I want to explain. I need to explain. Please?” She pleaded, not caring how desperate she might’ve looked.
You paused for a minute before sighing gently, nodding at her and giving her a non-verbal go ahead to continue. She took a deep breath, looking away for a second then looking back at you before you could even blink. You could see her hands tremble a little, and while you were upset with her, you couldn’t leave it alone. You reached your hand out from under the cover and held it out to her, offering it for her to hold. She grabbed it without hesitation, squeezing it gently as a single tear fell, gathering the courage to say her next words.
“I have no excuse for what I did. There is nothing I could say that would make my actions plausible or acceptable, I shouldn’t have treated you like that or said what I did, and I understand if you can’t forgive me, or don’t want to. But I needed-, no, I need you to know, I'm sorry. I’m so sorry, Y/N. You deserve better.”
More tears had fallen down her face at this point, her thumb not ceasing in their circular movements on the back of your hand. She didn’t know if this was going to be the last time she felt your hand in hers, so with every circle, she was savouring the moment, no matter how badly she wished it was under different circumstances.
You shuffled a little so you were in a more upright position, hoping that it would make speaking easier. You’d taken in every word, and while you were hurt, extremely hurt, you saw how remorseful she was. Her face showed no sign of humour or like she was lying. You could always tell when she was lying, her eyebrow always twitched a little, which you would always be in stitches about when she tried to say she didn’t eat your last cookie and her eyebrows would be moving like mad. They were as still as stone when she was speaking this time.
“You really hurt me, Nat. I didn’t think I was asking for much, just some time with you, that was all. And you left me every time, for work and with no notice. It was embarrassing.” She nodded in acknowledgement as she listened. “A-and then to come back and witness you being so, so, hostile, with me, I didn’t understand what I'd done.”
She gulped audibly before speaking again. “You hadn’t done a thing. Not a thing. I-I threw myself into work, into training. The last mission, I was sloppy, I wasn’t on my A game, it almost ended up with other people seriously hurt. So I thought-” She took a shaky breath in. “I thought, if I trained harder, It would mean I would be better for the next mission. But I disregarded everything else on the radar, including you, and then I got so mad at myself for it that I ended up taking it out on you instead. You don’t have a selfish bone in your body, and it was out of order for me to ever say so. It was wrong, and I don’t think I can apologise enough.`` She gave you an apologetic smile, tears streaming down her face steadily now.
“You know, when I came home from the restaurant, I had this driver.” You smiled. “Nice woman, she’s got a wife. She was telling me that it wasn’t easy for them. They had their ups and downs, their fights and bitterness. But they always found their way back to each other.” You whispered so softly that if there was any other noise in the room, Natasha wouldn’t have heard a word.
“And, when we argued, I really didn’t think we were going to be able to come back from that. I thought that maybe our time had expired.” You sniffled, your own tears trailing their way down your cheeks. Without thinking, she wiped them away, her palm pressing onto your warm cheek as you nuzzled into it, still finding comfort in her touch.
“I don’t want us to expire, Nat.”
There it was. There was the sentence that turned silent tears into fully body wracking sobs, your hands instinctively going to pull away and cover your face, instead, Natasha brought herself up to sit on the side of your bed, hastily bringing you into her chest and her free hand combing its way through your hair.
She rocked you back and forth, letting you get everything out of your system, no matter how much it hurt to hear.
“Shh, I’ve got you. I’m so sorry, moya lyubov.”
Your sobs soon died down with Nat’s help, sobs turning into faint pants with how tired you were and how much energy it had taken out of you. You looked up at her softly, as she smiled down at you.
“I love you, Natty.” You murmured, the words making the assassin’s heart grow fonder for you, if that was ever possible.
“I love you more.”
“Can you stay with me tonight? I can’t sleep without you.”
“Of course. Anything for you.” She leaned over you, bringing the blankets back up and over you, catching a glimpse of some brown fur among the darkness. She knew exactly what it was. She picked up up with the blankets and handed it to you, happiness overtaking her as she saw your eyes light up at the teddy she won for you.
“Thank you.”
“No, thank you, Detka.” She pressed a kiss to your temple before settling down, holding you tight in her grasp, refusing to let you go for anything or anyone, not that you were complaining, you’d missed this.
Nothing had to be decided tonight, there was no rush for discussion. Sure, there were still things to talk through and work out, but that can wait. All that mattered right now, was that Natasha was there. She was holding you in her arms and you felt every ounce of love and apology she could give you. And that was enough for now.

could you do a nat x reader where they both really dislike each other but it’s not like they’re in love but cover it up with hatred, like they genuinely despise each other and its a reallyyyyy slowburn.
I liked this idea and I decided to add a Christmas vibe to it, especially since Christmas is coming soon so like yeah enjoy:3
Cover up
Pairing: Natasha x Reader
Warning: Language, angst, fluff :)
Summary: Joining the Avengers seems to be cool but dealing with constant hate from one of them is exhausting until you have enough...
Word count: 9k
My requests are always open so feel more than welcome to pop in a suggestion for the next story :3
⸻⸻⋙☸⋘⸻⸻
"Hello?" You called out as you walked into the building.
A young boy jumped out in front of you with a wide smile "Hello!"
You raised your brows at him but continued since he was the only person here "Hi, I'm looking for Nick Fury, I am suppose to join some people, I'm not even sure what this is, he didn't want to explain"
He chuckled as he shook your hand "That's typical Fury, he is here and I believe he is waiting for you so let me take you up there"
You nodded with a smile "Thank you, that would be great"
He took you to what looked like a living room which was really high up, there were a handful of people along with Fury, he turned towards you and Peter.
"There you are, come come, the rest of the Avengers are coming" He spoke as he waved you over to walk over to him.
You stood next to him as the rest of the team walked in, so Fury started to introduce you "This is Y/n Y/l/n, I wanted to personally introduce her to everyone as she will be joining the Avengers"
That definitely has captured their attention and interest, it was rare for anyone to even be considered to join the Avengers so if you did then that must've meant you were pretty damn good.
He turned to face you and slightly smiled "Impress us Y/n, show us what you got"
You smiled at him as you reached for your fake glasses, you pulled them off your face, activating your suit that was forming on you so quickly that if you blinked you wouldn't even notice when it appeared.
You stood there with a shy smile as Tony raised his brow at your invention, you reached your hand out and there was a hologram displayed with practically every feature this suit had.
"I claim her first!" Tony raised his hand as he stood up.
Bucky interjected "No way, I need an arm upgrade anyway so I'm taking her"
You looked at Nick who had a smug smile across his lips, you were surrounded by the whole team, except one redhead, she didn't want to be apart of this because simply she found you annoying.
The reality was she found you pretty interesting but she had to put up an act because that's Natasha for you, she never had a reason to anything.
She simply rolled her eyes which you managed to catch and she walked out, you looked up at Fury when everyone scattered to continue to do their reports or whatever they else had to do.
"What's up with her?" You asked as you looked at the redhead.
Fury looked where you were looking "Oh you mean Natasha? That's her normal behaviour, she takes a long time to warm up to new people"
You stared at her with a slight narrowed look, with a simply hum you answer him as curiosity gets to you.
And that was your first ever encounter with Natasha, it wasn't exactly an encounter but it was enough to fuel the hate between the two of you, well exactly it was in Natasha.
For some reason she hated you, and she hated you with her whole heart, but you on the other hand didn't even care as much until it was really annoying and her hate was contagious which made you hate her for her hate towards you.
You and her could never stand in the same room and that was shown in many serious situations, an example a meeting:
You arrived along with Wanda, she has been showing you what she she has discovered when learning about her powers, and since you have been helping her control them better with some of your inventions, it was only normal for the two of you to arrive together.
She had her head thrown back laughing at one of your jokes, causing the rest of the team to smile as her laughter spread through the room.
The meeting didn't start just yet, which just allowed some couple more minutes to relax before things turned really serious here, whilst being here you managed to get pretty close to everyone here, expect Natasha.
As everyone was here, Natasha marched in as she narrowed her eyes at you especially when Wanda was laughing so loudly, she took her seat next to Sam.
"No way! That's just so sad, how could you have just left the room without even excusing yourself" Wanda spoke with disbelief at the conversation the two of you had.
You smiled "Please, you're laughing now but in my situation you would've just walked out as well"
You didn't even notice Natasha walking in as Wanda pretty much took all of your attention but that changed within seconds "Can the two of you just shut up?"
You and Wanda looked over to Natasha who was just eyeing the two out as if she would kill yous, you raised your eyebrows as if to challenge her further "Why?"
"Because we are starting in couple minutes and I rather sit here in peace" She spoke with no emotions on her face.
You looked around "Everyone here is having a conversation so what bothers you about mine and Wanda's?"
Now that had everyone's attention the second you spoke back to Natasha, normally new people are afraid of her but she was just so irritating.
"They are quiet-" She tried to explain her point but you cut her off "Or are you just jealous because you are just not that funny?"
The Russian narrowed her eyes at you that if she could shoot lasers from her eyes she would've burnt your face off "No" she paused "That's not why"
Wanda gently placed her hand over yours "Y/n just leave it.."
You looked over at Wanda and Natasha's eyes dropped to Wanda's hand for a split second before she looked back at you "Why should I?"
Natasha challenged you "Yeah Y/n listen to the witch and leave it" She mimicked the way Wanda said your name.
You looked back at her as stood up "Or what Romanoff? What you going to do?"
She stood up as she pointed her hand towards you, making a fist "Or I will zap you here and then laugh as you're unconscious"
You raised your hand over your glasses "As if you're even capable of any emotions"
She kept her gaze on you, she had a straight face as if she would kill you if there wasn't a table in between the two of you "Wouldn't you like to see that"
You smiled slightly "I will"
She tilted her head slightly as slight confusion settled her facial features, that's when you pressed a button on your watch which displayed a drone.
"You can't zap me if they get you first" You simply stated with a smirk, she looked over her shoulder as two drones hoovered near her.
She didn't even need to move, with one shot they were both down and she was back at pointing her zaps at you "You're more stupid than I thought"
She was about to press her button but Wanda stopped her with her powers "What the?"
You had a smug smile sitting on your lips as you lowers your hand and crossed your arms "You see, you're stupider for not predicting that"
Usually the team never gotten involved between the two of you but Wanda was a little annoyed with Natasha, today you or her wasn't even doing anything wrong and she still had issues with that.
"The two of you need to stop arguing" She spoke softly as she looked at Natasha and then back at you.
You simply shrugged "I didn't do anything, it's that thing over there"
"If I could move right now I would knock you to next year" Natasha stated with a threat but that didn't bother you.
"Eh, but you can't so keep dreaming Romanoff" You shrugged it off as an empty threat as everyone around had their mouths open.
Tony rolled his eyes, he knew if he didn't do something and Fury walked in on this, that would just make the meeting twice more unbearable than what it already is.
"Okay, Wanda let the spy go" Tony stated as he stood up to which all three of you looked at him, well mostly you and Wanda as Natasha couldn't move.
You sighed as Wanda let Natasha go and just as the Russian was ready to lunged at you but Tony stopped her "Natasha sit down before Fury walks in here and removes you from the missions"
She narrowed her eyes at you as she sat down and you had a small smirk across your lips just to mock her, but you weren't in the clear "Y/n stop provoking her, sit down and don't talk, no one is allowed to talk unless I so say"
You looked a little shocked at Tony but nodded nevertheless, you sat down and looked at Wanda who had a small smile across her lips as she spoke in your head "First time someone told her off"
You couldn't help but laugh, causing Natasha to point at you as she looked at Tony "They are talking!"
You raised your hands up "Nothing came out of my mouth or hers"
Tony shook his head "It's like deal with children here" He sighed "Y/n Wanda and Natasha just leave this meeting room, just go you three cause too much trouble and I can't handle that today"
You smirked at Natasha when she tried to argue that she didn't do anything wrong but Tony kept to his word and kicked the three of you out, so you and Wanda took that opportunity to continue training whilst Natasha hated you more.
Another situation was whenever you and the Russian would've went on missions together, it would always end up in a disaster that eventually you had to be on different teams when splitting up, an example:
4 people were assigned to this mission, you Natasha, Wanda and Clint. For some reason that was the four that had to go to that mission, maybe because it was suppose to be an easy mission for the four of yous.
But not knowing how much of hate is between you and the Russian, they never thought how wrong this mission is going to go. Everything was fine when travelling to the location of the base, but landing was the problem.
As soon as you have landed, you were ready to just take off with Wanda but the remaining team at the tower had different plans for yous.
"Okay so where me and Wanda are heading?" You asked as you were getting ready with your suit.
"Wanda is going with Clint, It's you and Natasha" Steve spoke to your ear.
You looked at Natasha and she looked at you "What!" You both said in perfect sync.
"It's my final word" He finished speaking about that subject.
You looked over at Wanda who was slightly smirking as she spoke in your head "Be careful she might be the one who will kill you"
You rolled your eyes as you walked over to Natasha, taking off your glasses and letting the suit appear on you, Natasha would be lying if she didn't find your inventions cool but she still hated you.
As the two of you made your way towards the base, Wanda and Clint went into a different exist to see what they can find, between you and the Russian it was dead silence.
For some reason Natasha accidently walked into you "Can you move?"
You shoved her slightly "You walked into me, you move"
The two of yous acted like kids, it was embarrassing how two grown ups can act like they are in high school all over again "No, you walked into me"
You looked at her with disbelief "Are you serious? You literally walked on my foot"
It's like she did this on purpose, just to start an argument, she couldn't just have one day where yous don't even speak, it was always like that and you found it so annoying.
She rolled her eyes "Whatever"
You stopped "No, it's not whatever" You mimicked her "If you're going to start an argument do it for the right reason, not because you can't own up to your own mistake"
She stopped as well as she faced you "I can own up to my mistakes if I want to and I choose not to"
You rolled your eyes "Clearly"
She took a step forward "It's my fault your nutbrain can't understand that"
You heard noises but her talking only made it harder to hear "Shut up"
"You shut up-" Before she could say anything else you placed your hand over her mouth as you whispered "Shut up this once"
That's when the both of you heard it again, this time she narrowed her eyes but at the sound not at you, you reached your free hand to your com "Guys are you okay?"
She wacked your hand off her mouth as you rolled your eyes again, that's when Wanda's voice came through "No- Stuck- Hurry"
It was cutting out and that's what made you worry even more, you looked at Natasha who was ready to run head first into them but you pulled her into you.
"It will be quicker this way" You spoke before she could push herself off you.
"What are you-" And before she knew it, you were flying towards where Wanda is, good that you managed to convince Tony to install little tracking chips onto the suits for missions so it's easy to find each other.
The two of you arrived and landed that's when Natasha pushed herself off and dusted her as she ran to Clint to help him, whilst you made sure Wanda was okay.
You landed by her side as you knocked out a guy from behind her "Watch your back Maximoff"
She looked at you with joy in her eyes as she hugged you but still held multiple men in her grasp of red mist "Are you okay?"
She nodded with a smile "Yeah, I have been managing but I can't get to Clint"
You smiled back "Don't worry Natasha ran to him when we got here"
She nodded and continued to fight off anyone who tried to attack the two of you, obviously you and Wanda were an amazing pair, you worked together with no issues and even better than with anyone else.
You got knocked out by one of the soldiers when you didn't pay attention and accidently hit Natasha who wasn't far from you "What the?"
She looked down at you as she narrowed her eyes "This isn't the time to argue" She said as she zapped one of the men who were running towards her.
You stood up as you quickly dusted yourself off "I wasn't starting anything, it was purely an accident"
She nodded sarcastically "Yeah sure"
You rolled your eyes which she noticed "Stop rolling your eyes so much or it will stay like that"
You huffed in annoyance "And you might want to stop looking like you need to take a shit"
This only pissed her off more, she turned to you as her attention only was on you and forgetting that Clint was alone "If you don't shut the fuck up you'll be the one taking a shit in a second"
You were close to laughing when you heard a loud groan and scream, fear washed over you and Natasha within seconds and you were running towards the scream, only to see blood all over the floor and Clint barely holding onto his weapon to keep off the Hydra agents.
You and Wanda knocked out most of the agents as you quickly got by Clint's side with a sheepish smile "You'll be okay"
He was Natasha's best friend, she could never forgive herself if he died because she didn't pay attention. She was too shocked to say anything but just prayed he would be okay.
"Clint, listen to me, you're losing a lot of blood, I know how to stop it but you won't be conscious" You spoke trying to keep him awake.
He nodded "P-please"
You nodded with his consent, you pulled out a little needle from your suit, it was an anaesthesia which you were going to use on any agents that had you cornered but this was more important.
Natasha watched his eyes shut down as she looked at you helplessly "W-what did you do?"
You looked at her with a sigh "It's a general anaesthesia, he wont feel pain so we can get him to the jet without causing more damage to his wounds"
She nodded in this moment as Wanda joined and helped you carry him to the jet, the Russian was worried about her best friend, she spent her whole time next to him until when you all arrived back to the tower, he was taken into the medic wing.
Before Natasha could rush to him, Steve and Tony pulled you and the Russian into the living room as everyone basically scattered away like roaches.
You stood not far from her as Steve had a disappointed look across his face, whilst Tony had a pissed look on his face "What the hell happened out there?!"
You cleared your throat "As per Steve instructions myself and Natasha went to check one of the entrances whilst Wanda and Clint checked the other"
You started to explain as you pressed on of the buttons making it form back into the glasses "We didn't find anything and we only noticed that something was wrong when Wanda's com was cutting out so we rushed to help-"
Steve had his hand behind his back "Was it because the two of you fought again?"
You looked at Natasha briefly and she nodded "It wasn't my fault-"
"What? You walked into me and that caused a distraction, we could've been there earlier"
She looked at you with narrowed eyes "So you're blaming me for him getting shot?"
You raised your brows at her "I didn't even say that-"
Tony shouted "Enough!"
Which caused both of you to jump slightly as yous looked back at them, Steve raised his brows at you and you continued "We rushed over there and once again we argued not noticing that Clint was surrounded especially since the coms were acting up"
Steve shook his head in disbelief at the behaviour whilst Tony slammed his hands onto the little table in front of him "You idiots!"
"Two complete idiots! How could yous be so consumed with each other to not notice your teammate in trouble!" Tony kept his gaze at the two of you.
He pitched his nose as he tried to think, he sighed "I am banning the two of yous from further missions, kids don't get to go on missions"
Natasha was close to protesting but you spoke up instead "We are very sorry"
He sighed as he turned around and walked out along with Steve, leaving you with her for a couple of seconds before the rest of the team tried to walk back in.
She turned to you "This is all your fault"
You looked at her confused "What? I have told you it was an accident, if it wasn't for me he would've been dead by now"
She had tears in her eyes "It should've been you not him, if you died no one would even care"
She walked out as she left you speechless, Wanda rushed to your side as she tried to pull you into a hug but you slightly pushed her off with no words, you walked out to your room.
It did sting to have someone who is suppose to have your back think you should've been dead, even if the two of you argue you would've never thought that about her.
Ever since that time, yous were put in different teams, barely had anymore interactions or arguments, you didn't look at her or even acknowledge her, if she wanted you dead you might as well just act like it.
Clint recovered very nicely and was able to go on missions without issues, he survived because of you and he was forever grateful to you for saving his life.
He never blamed you or Natasha, but he was glad that the two of you never will be on the same team unless it was really necessary. Everything would've been okay until you would end up in the same room as Natasha, she couldn't stand you and you couldn't stand her either.
It was getting worse each time to the point where the joy for being apart of this team slipped away from you, you always felt unwelcomed and even though you had Wanda, most of the team would spend their time with Natasha than you.
It gotten to the point where you would rather just lock yourself in your room or move out of the tower and into your own apartment to just have some peace.
You spoke to Tony about it, you wanted to get out of here because who would want to be somewhere where no one wants them. He agreed to have you not living at the tower and with his help you managed to find an apartment not far away from the tower.
Everything was ready for you to just move that's when things got complicated, Fury demanded for the team to work on one of the missions day and night for couple of months as even Shield couldn't crack it.
That only delayed your move, no one apart from Tony and Wanda knew, she wanted to move with you because living here without you meant dealing with their bullshit all alone when with you it was easier.
You didn't mind, it would've been better for you as you get to have company when you're all alone out there so you and the redhead were so close to finally have some freedom but stupid mission got in the way.
You had to work as a team to solve this but whenever you tried, Natasha would ignore you or even laugh at your ideas, you managed to ignore her, and to be fair everyone seem to be okay with it.
You no longer belonged here, you would've never thought that wanted to do good would come hate from those who are suppose to be good themselves.
You knew you couldn't stay here so you decided to quit after Christmas, you no longer had the passion for this job even though with your technology and intelligence, mission were 70% more successful.
You managed somehow to be there for the team for the past couple months and managed to crack the mission, Fury was very proud of you and wanted to even give you a promotion that's why he called you into a meeting room.
You smiled at him as he looked through his papers "Fury I want to talk to you"
He looked up "What's wrong?"
You cleared your throat "I want to quit after Christmas"
He choked on air "What?"
You awkwardly smiled at him "I don't belong here Fury"
He shook his head "Nonsense, you belong here more than myself, because of you missions success rate went up 70% more, it's a lot so you do belong here"
"I-I don't know Nick, I have tried, I really did, it has been months and nothing has changed, I don't feel it anymore" You explained to him.
He sighed "Look, I get you, I had the same feeling but I never gave up to do good and I'm sure you don't either-"
He stopped as an idea popped in his head "After Christmas I will give you one more mission and if after that you still don't feel it, fine you can leave, is that okay with you?"
You took couple seconds to think about it, it would be the last mission you are with the team, it would be a little goodbye from you that they don't need to practically know about.
"Okay, fine you have a deal but under one condition" You agreed with a little hook.
"What is it?" He asked a little terrified.
"I don't have to spend my Christmas here" You really didn't want to, your family wasn't far from here so you would rather just be there instead of here"
He nodded "Yeah okay, you're free to do whatever you want"
You smiled and stood up as you continued to get ready for Christmas since it wasn't that far away. You manged to get presents in time for your family and sisters that you haven't seen for a long time.
As Christmas was around the corner, the tower looked like a festival, with Wanda preparing foods along with Steve and Bucky, the rest made sure the decorations looked pretty good for people who fight against evil on daily basis.
Whilst you were getting ready for your own Christmas, you were suppose to leave later on today so you packed your bag and just wondered around the tower, that's when Wanda pulled you to her.
"Come join us!"
You smiled but shook your head "I wish I could" Well that was a lie "But I'm leaving to visit family for Christmas"
She frowned at you "What!!! You're going to leave me for Christmas! You jerk at least come and join us before you have to leave"
You sighed as you nodded to agree and she pulled your hand towards the living room where things were upside down. You were in awe how they could pull this off together, even Clint's wife and kids came along too, it was really nice to see this.
"Y/n Come help us with the tree" Steve called you over as he held the tree with his hands.
You rushed over as you helped him and watched as it shined in a lot of different decorations "This one is a beauty"
He nodded "I know, I picked it out, I thought it would suit this years chaos"
You laughed and nodded "It sure does, especially with different random decorations all over it"
He laughed as he placed his hand on your shoulder "It's good to have you here Y/n even if no one says it we all are really glad you are here"
You had tears of joy in your eyes as you hugged him and he hugged you back "Thank you"
He nodded and walked away when he got called over by Wanda into the kitchen to help again, you stood there staring at the tree when you received a notification on your phone.
It was from your mother, she told you to not come as the city is under a lockdown because of the whether, there will be a snow storm where most of the city will be stuck inside their homes.
Even if you wanted to go, you knew you wouldn't even make it there, with a sad sigh you replied back that you'll come to them as soon as you could which meant after your mission.
You looked over at the kitchen when you heard Steve yell like a little girl, you smiled as you walked in and saw him hold his hand as if he burnt himself.
"You're lucky you won't have a mark after that" You commented as they both looked at you.
Wanda beamed at you "What are you still doing here? I thought you were going to your family"
You smiled sadly "There is going to be a snow storm so we are under lockdown and I can't go"
"Aww Y/n/n" She walked over to you as she gave you a hug "It's okay, you can see them after"
You nodded and she smiled as she handed you a spoon "Well then you can help too, here have this and just stir, I need to find the correct spices"
You nodded as she pushed you towards the pan that had some sort foods that you couldn't make out but it smelt like nothing you have ever tried.
You started to stir and when it was done you turned off the heat, move along to the little sauce she was preparing, the thing is it was a home made sauce so it had to be stirred on a small heat so it doesn't burn but you didn't know.
You decided to put a higher heat and gotten distracted with the conversation that Sam and Bucky were having. You laughed when suddenly a smell of burnt started to make itself into your nose.
Your eyes widen at the smell and quickly rushed over to turn it off, Wanda rushed in as well "What's burning!"
"Uhh" You tried to think of something but with panic and fear you couldn't "The sauce"
Wanda sighed in relief "That's okay"
You looked over with a frown "What do you mean that's okay?"
She giggled "Because I knew that someone would burn something so I have another prepared just in case of this"
You sighed that's when Natasha walked in "Which idiot is burning something"
You stiffened as Wanda noticed, she took the spoon out of your hand as she spoke "Y/n accidently burnt the sauce"
The Russian laughed "Typical, useless like always"
You closed your eyes for a brief second before trying to pull yourself together so you tried to just leave but what she said next caused worse pain than any wound you ever had.
"Her family faked a storm for her to just not show up and now we have to deal with her, so useless even her family sees it" She commented with a laugh but no one laughed with her.
Everyone stopped as they looked over at her, this time you couldn't hold it, letting tears slide down your face. They say silence is the deadliest all of them so you swallowed your words as you walked out whilst wiped your tears away.
Clint placed his knife down "Seriously? Even during Christmas? You are unbelievable"
Natasha frowned at his words but before she could say anything else, he crossed his arms "Go apologise to her, she doesn't deserve to be treated like shit"
Wanda turned as she looked at Natasha "He is right, if it wasn't for Y/n you wouldn't have Clint here anymore"
She swallowed guilt down, she never really felt guilty whenever she would insult you, she never saw that you ever took it seriously but maybe she was wrong.
"I overheard her conversation with Fury, she wants to quit because she thinks she doesn't belong here" Clint confessed as he looked over at Wanda.
"What? So that's why she wants to move away as well" The other redhead was shocked but pieced everything together.
Now that caused guilt to really surface in Natasha, she didn't even know she caused so much hate and hurt in you to drive you away, she didn't even know why in the end she wanted you dead.
Everyone justified it as the emotions but she knew it wasn't that, she couldn't stand you but why? She didn't even know.
She sighed as she walked off without even saying anything, she went to find you, she might've went over the line today, it was Christmas and she didn't want to cause any weird tension as she secretly enjoyed Christmas herself.
She was able to locate you with the help of Friday, you were out in the balcony staring down at the street below, wondering if what Natasha said was true.
You heard foot steps as you quickly wiped your tears "I don't want to talk Wanda, please leave me alone"
She felt a little weird that you thought it would been Wanda to chase after you "I-it's not Wanda, it's me"
You stiffen at her voice, she was the last person you would expect to come here, you turned to look at her "Why are you here? You make fun of me for crying? Or that everyone thinks I should just jump off into my death"
Your words and your tone stung her, she knew she deserved it, it was her words in the end just because she didn't show her emotions so publicly like the rest didn't mean it made everyone else weak.
She looked down at her hands as she spoke trying to avoid your gaze when she tries to apologise "Uh... No, I'm here to apologise"
You froze, those weren't the words you were expecting, you thought she would try to lock you out here so you would freeze to death rather than let you spend Christmas in the same room as her.
You looked at her "I'm really not in the mood for your jokes Nat"
Her heart beat twice at the way you said her name, it was always Natasha or Romanoff or Agent but no one really cared enough to ask whether she had a nickname.
"I'm not joking Y/n" She spoke more gently this time still avoiding your eyes.
But the silence forced her to look up and meet your eyes, you were looking at her with a warm gaze, it was no longer that cold distant look but more of an accepting and full of warmth.
"It's Christmas and you don't deserve this, I'm sorry" She choked out those words with ease, she thought it would've been harder but the way you looked at her made it easier.
You searched her face for any lies, for her to crack and laugh at you for how naive you are for believing her so easily, you stared her for couple seconds "How do I know you're not lying, not long ago you said I should be dead"
"You don't, you'll have to just believe me as you or anyone else doesn't deserve to die" She spoke with a small smile.
You saw she was shivering from coldness, you had your suit on ready to just leave but they were your family too and you couldn't just leave, you pressed a button on your suit as a jacket appeared.
You handed it to her "I believe you and accept your apology"
People who wouldn't know her or you would say you are stupid for even considering to forgive her, but over the past two years, this is the most vulnerable you have ever seen Natasha.
She smiled for the first time with you, as the two of you walked back into the living room where everything was ready and they were just waiting for the two of you.
They smiled and cheered when they saw that Natasha managed to bring you back, you saw a little bit away from her as festive songs played.
As everyone started to dig into their food, one of the songs started to play 'All I want for Christmas is you'. You knew the song but it was a long time since you heard it.
You looked over at Natasha as she was laughing and smiling as the lyrics started to play.
'I just want you for my own. More than you could ever know, make my wish come true. All I want for Christmas is you'
Clint along with Wanda noticed the look the two of you shared at the last part of those lyrics, as they looked at each other with small smirks, through this hate yous were too blinded to notice that the two of yous need each other.
Christmas was gone as soon as it came and new years eve was gone even faster, now you stood in the meeting room with slight consideration whether you should even stay.
You didn't want it to repeat itself, you and Natasha seem to be okay ish, she doesn't seem to insult you anymore or stupid comments but rather she's a lot more warmer to you, nice and just in general she's a lot more different.
Fury walked in with Natasha, your brows shot up in surprise, you would never really think that they would put the two of you together again after what happened with Clint.
She stood next to you as Fury stopped in front of the two of you, she looked at you with a smile to which to smiled back and then again her gaze was Fury.
Just couple weeks ago you wouldn't even smile at each other and here she is, treating you as her friend rather than enemy. Fury cleared his throat "Like I spoke with you Y/n, you know what this is about, this mission is a undercover"
You nodded and he continued "Natasha is a spy so she is perfect for this mission, this way maybe you can learn a thing or two"
You looked at Natasha as she had a small smirk across her lips, you nodded once again when you looked back at Fury "So who are we suppose to look out for?"
"Some guy is supplying drugs through a restaurant and we need to contain the scene before the drugs get out on the street, according to the suppliers they are suppose to be out today so I need the two of you to find them and close it down" Fury smirked at the end, it was more an evil smirk than anything else.
"No need to worry, we will stop it" Natasha answered with her own evil smirk and he just nodded as he handed Natasha a report where it describes who exactly we are suppose to avoid.
Within three hours, the two of you were out in the car, travelling to that restaurant "So tell me Y/n, are you really going to leave?"
You looked over to her with slightly shock "How do you know?"
She smiled "I have my ways but answer me first"
You looked away as you shrugged "I'm not sure, I will just have to see how this mission goes today"
She nodded to show that she understands "Wanda and Clint told me, that's where my questions are coming from"
You nodded but then frowned "How did they know, only Fury knew about me quitting"
She had a wide smile across her lips "They over heard your conversation, well Clint did but Wanda is devastated"
You looked over at her again "Really?"
She nodded "Yeah, I can't believe you would leave your girlfriend"
This caused you to laugh "Girlfriend? Please Nat don't make me laugh, she is my best friend not my girlfriend"
This information shouldn't have made Natasha happy but she was glad you were single, and she couldn't stop herself from feeling it because she was glad no matter how much she could cover it up.
She decided a long time ago that this constant hate and distrust ends and she's keeping to her word, she's becoming better, maybe for herself or maybe for you.
As the two of you arrived by the restaurant, she took her gun, checked it and tucked it into her shoe, of course she couldn't wear her suit to the undercover mission because they would know who she is.
You could though because of how it appeared on you after taking off your glasses. Before she could get out of the car, you stopped her as you grabbed her arm gently "Wait"
She looked over at you with a curious look, you took out a little device as you placed it on her skin, right on her chest, she watched what you were doing.
The device camouflaged with her skin and as if it wasn't even there, you looked up into her eyes, not behind far from her face "If you press this, your suit should start forming on you and other upgraded accessories"
She raised one of her brows at you "You tempered with my suit?"
The tone she used wasn't an angry tone but more of a surprised tone, you smiled nervously "I tinkered with it and I thought this would make your life a lot more easier"
The redhead smiled as she nodded and then gotten out of the car with a quiet thank you, you smiled to yourself as you gotten out of the car as well.
The two of you had good outfits to fit in, they said party but also elegant, Shield informed the two of you before leaving that they have an underground club for VIP customers.
Natasha made sure to know at least of the customers names so she could get the two of you in, and if not a little bit of force didn't hurt anyone.
As the redhead walked inside, you followed closely as one of the waitresses came up to the two of you "How can I help the two of yous?"
Natasha plastered a fake smile across her face "We are here for George H, we are scheduled for a meeting today"
The waitress smiled back "What a wonderful couple like the two of you want from Mr H?"
Natasha intertwined her hand with yours as she looked over at you with a loving smile "Me and my wife would like an" She looked back at the woman in front of her "adventure"
You gulped at the situation, the way Natasha spoke made you hot, you never heard her speak so seductively, it was definitely knew and the fact that her hand is locked with yous made things a lot more worse.
"If you know what we mean" She said as she slightly wiggled her brows to which the waitress nodded with a bigger smile.
"Please have a sit here and I will get Mr H for yous" She pointed to a more isolated booth.
You didn't really have a good feeling about this, Natasha pulled you towards the booth as she let you sit down first with her hand still locked with yours.
"Are we not going to get caught?" You whispered to Natasha as she looked over at you.
She tucked a hair behind your ear being really close to your face as she stared into your eyes "If you make it look like you know what you are doing, you should be fine любовь (love)"
Your mouth gotten dry with just the closeness of her face, you were thanking god when someone showed up with cups of water, you grabbed yours as you downed it.
Natasha looked at you with her brows raised as she took a sip of her water just to hide her smirk, you laughed slightly "Just very thirsty"
She nodded as innocently as she could before George walked up to the table and sat down near Natasha "Hello ladies"
"I see you and your friend would like to have an adventure?" He asked as he pointed from Natasha to you.
She smiled with so much deception that it made it look real "Me and my wife Mr H, but yes we would like that"
He smirked "I am sure we can find something but first I need to know whether you two are willing to do anything I ask?"
Natasha nodded as you moved closer to her and pulled her into you, letting your arm snake around her "Me and my wife are more than happy to obey you Mr H"
He smirked once again as he shook her hand "Well then we will call you as soon as we have availability"
Natasha shook his hand as he stood up and walked off, she kept a close eye on him so she took your hand again and started to follow him, you were lucky that the bathrooms where right next to where he walked in.
Natasha pulled you towards the bathroom as she looked around to how to open the door but it seemed to be on some code "Shit, we need a code"
You smirked this time as you walked up to her "Let me handle it"
The door was opened within seconds as the code panel was burnt a little, just a little so it wouldn't be noticeable, she smirked as she walked in first and you followed her.
The second you two took couple steps down to the club, someone was walking up, Natasha panicked in this moment, the only thing she knew that would work is something you would never expect, especially from her.
She pushed you against the wall, pushing herself extremely close against you as she whispered "I'm sorry"
You frowned as you tried to talk "What-" Her lips gotten in the way of your sentence, she kissed you as she placed your hands on her body, letting her hands tangle themselves in your hair.
The person who walked up the stairs was drunk to the point where he didn't even notice the two of you making out, until you moaned when Natasha's finger nails dig into your skin.
"Yooooo that's hot" Some random dude commented as he laughed and ran to the toilet.
Natasha pulled away still close to your lips with slight heavy breath and with hesitation if she should just pull you back or continue with the mission, but she had to pull away.
She continued to walk as you let out a heavy breath, trying to calm your heart beat and followed right after, for the rest of the time and trying to locate where they keep the drugs, she tried her best to not talk about it.
You felt things you shouldn't have, you wanted to forget about it but in that moment you really couldn't you had to pretend to be her wife and she could kiss you at anytime given just to keep the cover.
You swallowed the feelings down as you spotted the drugs, you looked over for Natasha but she was no one to be found, as you tried to find her, a woman approached you.
"Hello there sexy, what are you doing here all alone" She asked as her hand was placed on your arm.
You nervously laughed "Oh I'm not alone"
She smirked "Shame, I could show you how to have fun"
You gulped as her hand made it higher up your arm "Maybe you want something to drink?"
You laughed again as if something she said was funny "Oh no thank you"
She gotten closer to you "Are you sure?"
Suddenly Natasha appeared by your side as she pulled you into her "She said no, so now get lost"
You let your hand snake around her as the woman let go of you and walked away with annoyance, you looked over at Natasha who still avoided your gaze and unglued herself from you.
"I found where they are keeping them, we need to go now" She spoke lowly just enough so you can hear.
You nodded as she grabbed your hand and made your way through the crowd, towards the little room where couple of men sat, Natasha walked in "Hello fellas"
They all turned to look at her and within seconds they got wiped out, you smirked at her when she looked over at you, you walked over to their computer as you tried to find what are they doing.
They had shipments to different parts of the city and that's when you hit jackpot, you smirked as you plugged your portable usb that was also connected to Tony's data base.
You transferred everything and used one of your suit pockets to keep it safe, whilst you done that Natasha notified the team and they were on their way here.
You and her walked out of the room and when someone started to approach it, she pulled you into a booth and did the same thing as on the stairs.
As if there wasn't another way to hide yous but make it believable by making out everywhere, or maybe it was proving that hate was only covering up all of the feelings yous had for each other.
She pulled away with a smile as you whispered through breathes "You gotta stop doing that"
She smirked "What if I don't want to?"
You stared into her eyes with a slight confused tone in your eyes, but before you could ask her about it, there was a loud noise outside, you sighed "Hulk?"
She nodded "Hulk"
The two of you ran out of the booth where now there was huge hole in the ceiling, you took off your glasses letting the suit appear as you looked over at Natasha, who looked a little sceptic of the button on her skin.
She pressed it and soon she had her white suit appearing on her, she looked over at you with a genuine smile "White suit"
You nodded as you grabbed her and flew where the loud sounds were, letting her go, you started to knock out some men and soon as the rest of the team arrived, they were surrounded with bunch of evidences all over the place.
You felt good about it, you felt like you belong and the passion for the missions came back, you felt alive again and that was all because of Natasha.
When everyone came back to the tower, you were the only one who was just super charged up with energy, maybe it was because of Natasha and how she treated you today or the fact that the mission felt amazingly easy to solve.
You just love it "Did you see it? Did you see it! Boom boom boom and he was done!" You showed the punches that you were throwing.
As Natasha nodded with a smile "Yes Y/n/n I saw it"
You stopped which caused her to stop, you looked at her as you rubbed your neck "Can we talk about what happened there?"
Her breath hitched in her throat as she nodded but before the two of you could properly talk about it, Fury walked in all happy with a huge smile "There are my two favourite agents!"
You and her looked over at Fury with smiles as he put his arms around each of you and walked along to a room he was heading to "I am happy and there will be awards given"
He looked at his watch "Just not now" He stood a step forwards as he put his hand on the handle of the door and turned to you.
You nodded with a smile "I'm staying"
Natasha looked over at you when those words fell out of your mouth, and he nodded proudly as he put his hand up in the air and walked in the room with full excitement.
You looked back at her and she still had a small smile across her lips "You did an amazing job today Y/n, I'm proud"
Your breath hitched and so did Wanda's along with Clint's, they were on their way to congratulate the two of you but they saw that you and the redhead were having a moment so they stopped and listened.
"I still think we should talk about the kiss" You spoke after thanking her, she nodded slightly awkwardly.
Wanda looked at Clint with widen eyes as she mouthed "They kissed!"
Natasha took a step forward as she smiled "I didn't hate it.. but rather enjoyed it"
Your heart was beating out of your chest like crazy "Are you sure you're not saying that because you feel guilty?"
She shook her head "No, Y/n for the past couple weeks I might've realised that I was being unfair to you like really unfair but I also realised how much I was missing out on"
You stared at her with shock as she continued "I missed out on an amazing friendship and today just proved that we work really well together as a team when we really want to"
"The kissing parts weren't apart of the mission but I don't regret it and I would like to see where this could lead... if that's something you would want of course" She was quick to reassure you.
You smiled at her as you walked the rest of the distance between yous, gently taking her hands into yours "I think I would like that too"
She let out a sigh of relief with a slight laugh to calm herself down, you didn't let her talk again as your lips kissed hers this time, it was gentle and less rushed than in the club.
Wanda and Clint came running out as they jumped to embrace yous together and just have a wholesome moment with the pair of you, you laughed as you felt Wanda giggle at you.
Just like you promised, you ended up visiting your family soon after but this time with an addition, you and Natasha stood hand in hand with each other outside your parents door.
You raised your hand and knocked as you looked at Natasha who seemed to be a little zoned out "Hey, they will love you, just like me"
She looked at you when the last three words left your mouth with a huge smile, she pulled you to kiss her and whispered "I heart you too"
You laughed "I heart you? What is that? I love you for pussies?"
She rolled her eyes with a smirk at your teasing "I love you too"
You smiled and placed a gentle kiss on her lips as your parents opened the door and were greeted with their daughter all in love "Aww Henry come and see how your daughter is all grown up!"
Natasha laughed as you shook your head with slight disapproval, yous walked in and within minutes Natasha felt like she belonged amongst your family who treated her as if she was your real wife.
As Natasha gotten dragged away further into the house, you smiled from ear to ear with how adorable that sight of her being happy is. She changed a lot and she proven to you over the course of small time but she made you the happiest you could've been.
