I have a pulse oximeter and sometimes I just randomly decide to check my pulse for funsies, and I always get so amazed when it's in the 60s or 70s because I'm so used to it being in the 100s resting, like omg that's so low (it's not, it's a very normal bpm)

Oh yeah in good news I got a clean bill of health on my heart this morning. They took a peek at it over ultrasound and it's doing what it's supposed to.

[Request] $20 for POTS medication
Hoping someone could help me get $20 to pay for my prescription. I take corlanor to help with tachycardia. I've been in a rough patch lately and I'd be so greatful for any help, thanks in advance! I have PayPal if that helps

*meme format* Ah-ha! I do that!
I also have IST and it is ass. Corlanor has worked really well for me, but my doc had to get permission to prescribe it in the US.
I'm surfing the tag right now because I just walked up three flights of stairs and could feel my heart rattling my ribcage- needed some reassurance that this is real and not all in my head
Yes it is totally real. My first two doctors said that my heart rate was fine. And it was going like 140-150. So finally I got another doctor and he said I have IST and put me on heart medication. And thank god I’m on heart medication I feel so much better. But honestly with my condition IST I can barely walk up stairs either. And by the way, I’m actually in Canada so I don’t know much about the United States healthcare system. I’m glad that your doctor has really helped you. :)

Reposted from @molecule_of_the_day (@get_regrann) - Ivabradine, marketed under the brand name Corlanor, is a medication 💊 used to treat certain patients with heart failure, a condition where the heart ❤️ is unable to pump enough blood to the other parts of the body. It works by slowing the heart rate so the heart can pump more blood through the body each time it beats. Ivabradine can also be used to treat chronic heart pain, especially when the patient is unable to consume the typical heart pain medications. An interesting side effect is luminous phenonena, which patients describe as sensations 😵 of enhanced brightness in a fully maintained visual field. Thanks 🙏 anonymous for the suggestion! The molecular structure was created using ChemDoodle. Fingers crossed on your seahorse pregnancy! Hope all goes well
Thanks!! Everything should go well! I'm not pregnant YET but we're actively trying now including like... ovulation tracking and all that includes so it should be only a few months! (It's like 85% or something people get pregnant within 6 months so I'm hoping things will move quickly)
I did a whole bunch to prepare ahead of time including quitting any vices, getting my eating in order as much as I can, taking prenatal vitamins, getting exercise, and swapping out any potentially harmful medicines (Shockingly only the ivabradine/corlanor is Bad and that was a fairly easy swap)
The doctor I talked to today was pro-abortion and pro LGBT+ so I feel pretty comfortable regarding all that too, since I'm planning on changing my name during the pregnancy. (I don't want to be trans on paper, especially in Idaho, so I'm gonna use 'I use this name normally and it's the one I want on my baby's birth certificate' as my reasoning in court)
