I meaaaan, I'll stream as Cammy vtuber to my friends, I'm not good at staying in character since I swear and rage a lot. (Maybe trying to stay in Cammy character will help me manage my anger and stuff haha or it will further worsen my bipolar disorder hgfjsdk)

I always wanted to play video games and make money off it, my old friend is getting successful off it right now, and even my dad would rather i make money off of playing video games RATHER THAN drawing. Which is kinda fucked.

Do I think Zach really wanted Cammie to show him the secret passageways? The short answer is yes. Yes, I do.

Although, I think it has less to do with the secret passageways and more to do with Cammie. Like, he's a boy with a crush on a girl and looking for any excuse to spend more time with her. Don't get me wrong, I think secret passageways are a universally interesting thing and who wouldn't want to see them? I mean, unless you're afraid of spiders (me 🙋‍♀️) or small spaces—both of which Cam has said might make the experience of exploring secret passageways more of a challenge.

Anyways, while I think Zach has some general interest in seeing the secret passageways, I think his interest stems from his interest in Cammie. In CMH he starts to fall for her, and he falls hard. I don't think he even knows just how interested he is. It's a bit telling that he keeps asking about the secret passageways because the secret passageways are a part of Cammie—part of her being a chameleon, part of her being a Gallagher girl—they're her favourite part of the school. And Zach loves that. He doesn't know it yet, but he does. Like, he calls her "Gallagher Girl" because he knows how much it's a part of her (even though it may have started out as a nickname to tease her, it eventually becomes a term of endearment made just for Cam). There's that line at the end of UWS when the school is burning down and Cammie still wants to save it and Zach says to her "Gallagher Girl, you are the school."

So ultimately, I think Zach's interest in the school comes down to his love for Cammie. Because in CMH he just can't help himself, he's starting to care about her, so he's starting to care about the things she cares about. Because yeah, Cammie is the school.

If you had to recommend one activity/interaction for people to have during their playthrough of Disco Elysium, what would it be and why?

I feel like Disco Elysium works best if you roleplay while surrendering your control to the dice and committing to the bit. It's a way to play it and there's no right way to play it, but it helps

My favorite moments in the game are mandatory as part of the story (the rooftop where Volition senses betrayal or the events on the island) or aren't too difficult to get

For instance Harry decided he wanted to do karaoke on my first morning and so I made sure I did karaoke and it was fulfilling!

I hate to be unoriginal and uninspired but the church quest was my favorite in the game even though we're pretty vocal about not liking The Pale

So the benefits of committing to the bit and trusting the dice is that you'll fuck up and just play your Harry based on that fuck up-- luckily your conscience, Kim Kitsuragi, is always there to help you if you feel too bad by being impressionable and letting people talk you down some bad paths

I keep finding new things every time I play the game this way because try as I might, bits of me pour into my characters in immersive RPGs-- I can't play FONV and side with Caesar, I can't do it-- I can't play VtM:B and let Heather Poe die (I mod my game specifically to avoid it, even)

With Disco Elysium failure is built into the mix and to embrace that is to allow yourself to become a unique and inimitable version of Harry rather than let Harry become you

Even then I still mess up-- I have never allowed Harry to abuse drink or drugs in my runs because of my personal hang-ups (an issue I have in FONV too) and I can't do the dialogue options that leads to Harry threatening the union workers by putting a gun in his mouth

I have limits sadly and in a world of options I just can't pick some of them because of who I am, even if I find the writing behind that scene or Kim scaring the racism out of the Icebreaker to be objectively hilarious

To answer the question in full:

Do the payphone, that was likely my favorite optional moment in the game and it stung in a beautiful way

Do the church quest, no matter how difficult it may be

Do karaoke because Harry really wants to do karaoke

Kuno is the best and we love him, but you're a stronger person than we are if you can stomach getting the Kuno ending

Oh my god, another Pokémon, Street Fighter AND Ace Attorney fan?? Thank you for feeding my Vega obsession and the Vega Cammy sibling agenda. Do you like any of the other Dolls except Cammy? I imagine he's like a big brother/mother to all of them with his not-so-subtle fave being Enero (they bond over being Spanish). Also his quotes from Street Fighter Alpha where he goes against Shadaloo and tries to "convert" Juni make me go feral ("You can continue to live in submission. The choice is yours.")

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!! He's literally their big brother. He's a mother hen and they're all his baby chicks that follow him around. If you fuck with any of them he kills you. It's true I lnow him i was there. They're his babies...... The way he treats them all in alpha 3 makes me so insane...

Aside from Cammy I'm also a really big fan of Decapre and März (rest in peace silly glasses girl)!!!!! But they're all very special to me... I personally think the Dolls and keeping them safe was the only thing keeping Vega in Shadaloo as of sf5. He hates it there! If he's somehow still affiliated with Shadaloo in 6 I'm gonna be pressed!

(one thing re: your other ask. I've gotten terribly sidetracked by other fandom interests so I'm not far along with aot AT ALL lol, so I'll reserve that ask for later on ^-^)

"Monstress" by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda, obviously! It's not perfect but it has a lot of things I think would be up your alley (+ elements that have reminded me of TEOTE, in particular lol).

I do think it's good to try out Black Sails lol. if it's not your thing it's not your thing, but that show has a lot of things worth delving deep.

hmm... I tend to assume (well-read) people have read my favourite classics/must-reads of literature lol, like Frankenstein, Medea, Rebecca, Hymn to Demeter... IIRC you haven't read Carmilla though? (although I might be mistaken because I think it was the case with more than one mutual and I could be getting it mixed up). So I'll throw that in.

same re: if you haven't read Shirley Jackson. I read "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" in one sitting on the dentist's waiting room and loved it to pieces xDD
