           had wandered into the Dragon's Realm

It was raining day, the pouring of water from the sky along with the darkening of the clouds made the weather to be rather gloomy. The dragon was cleaning up his own wound, a rather long gash of the back of his palm, the injury he attained from his last job. He was a little careless and that caused the sword from his enemy to leave a slash on his left hand. Though, the sound of the door of his home and makeshift office opening caught his attention. The dragon quickly hid his injured hand underneath the desk, offering the newcomer a civil smile. It wouldn't be good to show a stranger or potential customer that he was injured, would it?

That very Sunday after the two of them had talked about having a sleepover, the did indeed have one filled with blanket forts, popcorn drizzled with caramel sauce and tons of iced tea from the batch that Vanitas had made that morning. Of course, many other snacks had been consumed since the two of them had gone to a corner store to get them when they ran out. For Namine.. it was worth it. Her smile and her happiness were worth much more than his own, after all.After watching a few movies together while actually discussing what’d been going on in the past few weeks since they’d seen each other, he felt a weight on his shoulder that just so happened to be his sleeping friend. A laid-back grin spread across his features. Usually Namine was the kind of girl who just looked like an angel, but the resemblance always struck him harder when she was sleeping. She always looked so peaceful.. Without much effort, the raven picked up the sleeping blonde and carried her off to his bed, settling her inside the blankets while he, too, curled up around her. After getting used to her soft breathing, Vanitas began to drift off to sleep as well……The sound of loud wailing was what awoke him from a dream of adventures with Bartz and his trusty chocobo companion. Golden eyes opened to see the silhouette of his little blond angel with her face in the palms of her hands. The sight nearly broke Vanitas’s heart, and he couldn’t help but wonder what had upset her. "Namine.." he whispered, scooting to her side. "Namine.." he tried once more, but she probably hadn’t even heard him. Vanitas had been through this more than once before, and knew that when she got like this; it was hard to calm her down. The raven crossed his legs and pulled the girl sideways into his lap, gently pulling her hands away from her face so he could used the sleeve of his shirt to clean her tears off of her reddened cheeks. "Namine.. don’t cry.. I know it was scary, but it was just a dream, babygirl.." Like he could even talk.. Vanitas, himself, was often plagued with terrible nightmares that jolted him up at night and worried Axel at times. Although he was getting much better at dealing with them, Namine wasn’t, and he had to watch out for her because of that. "Shhh, baby.. don’t waste your tears on the nasty thoughts, okay?" She was still shaking in his arms and didn’t respond to his statement.. Vanitas leant in to place his lips on her cheek, knowing that such things would help to calm her down. « What was the song he used to sing…? From that one movie..? Right.. he was in love at the time.. heh.. »”Look at the sky, tell me what do you see? Just close your eyes and describe it to me.. The heavens are sparkling with starlight tonight.. That’s what I see through your eyes.." Right.. this was the same song his brother used to sing to him so many years ago whenever the young raven would have a nightmare. The pause for thought only lasted a moment longer before he continued on. "I see the heavens.. It’s time that you smiled.. I hear your heartbeat just go on for miles.. And suddenly I know why life is worthwhile.. That’s what I see through your eyes.." Another pause. Good, she was settling down a bit. Another quick peck to her forehead before going on. "That’s what I see though your eyes.. Here in the night; I see the sun.. Here in the dark; our two hearts are one.. It’s out of our hands; we can’t stop what we have begun.. And love just took me by surprise; looking through your eyes..”Deep blue eyes were already shut and her breathing had gone back to its usual pace. "I see a night I, wish could last forever.. I see a world we’re meant to see together.. And there is so much, more than I remember.. More than I have known…. Here in the night; I see the sun.. Here in the dark; our two hearts are one.. It’s out of our hands, we can’t stop what we have begun.. And love just took me by surprise….. Looking through your eyes…”Vanitas was happy to see that the blonde had fallen asleep once more, and this time, there was no chance she would have nightmares— he knew by experience. Solvei set the blonde down gently on the bed once more and covered her with the blanket he had used before. "Goodnight, Namine," he whispered, smiling to himself as he also rested beside her.

Overdue Appointment ~ Riku and Namine

The doctor had told them a month ago that they could check the gender with an ultrasound, but at the time, Riku and Namine didn't want to know. However, curiosity got the better of them, so they'd agreed that they'd do it at the next monthly ultrasound. 

The day came up on them fast, and before they knew it, it was time. Riku had taken off work early to take his fiancee to the doctor. He hadn't been able to focus all day, and his boss had noticed. But it was over now; as he pulled into their driveway, his heart jumped into his throat. 

"Babe, I'm home," he called as he walked in.

"It will be!" Namine smiled as she moved her hand over her mouth, closing her eyes as she let a long yawn escape her lips. "I think i'm gonna head home now, I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" The blonde brought herself to her toes as she kissed Van's cheek. "Night!"

Vanitas nodded and returned the peck on his cheek with one to her forehead. "Goodnight, princess. Tell papa bear I said 'hello'." Surely that would give Riku incentive to be rude as usual, but it was always fun to mess around with him, regardless. "See ya tomorrow~"

Namine clapped her hands and jumped up once, only to hold her stomach and chuckle. "Sounds lovely! It's true... he'd probably ruin our sleepover by making you watch us kissing." The blonde giggled awkwardly. "I miss your cuddles!"

However awkward it might've been; it was true. Vanitas couldn't bring himself to blame him, though. "Gross~" he teased, lightly bumping his forehead against hers. "I miss yours, too. It's okay, because I'll get them back and all shall be well."

"They should be a Sunday thing. We can watch movies, eat lots of food and bring back the old times." The blonde smiled, combing her fingers through her hair. "They can be at your house or mine, which ever works."

Sunday? That was always a perfect day for get togethers with his favorite girl. "Sounds good. They should be at my place, though, since I'm afraid the big bad Ku will eat me for being too cuddly with you." He remembered how mad jealous Riku had been in the past.

"Your little daredevil." Namine chuckled. "Along with Axel. I think we need to have another sleep over, It's been ages and I need to know what's been going on in your life."

"You think? There's a lot of really important things you've gotta know, missy." Like the fact that he was going to get married? "Sleepovers need to be more frequent with us, darling."

"You have a key!" The girl chuckled. "Hasn't stopped you before when I was cleaning the house or sleeping, you'd walk in and make yourself at home." The blonde chuckled before shaking her head towards the raven. "How is he?"

"Of course it hasn't. Not even your husband would stop me from seeing you, babygirl." He should always be allowed to see his best friend, right? "Also-- that depends on which 'he' you're referring to."

When Van had began spinning her around like the old days, the girl chuckled and held tightly until she was planted on the ground. Namine was waiting to ask if he'd would take the roll of her child's godfather, but temptation continued to build. "You will come see us, won't you?"

What kind of question was that? Of course he would go visit them! Their child would have to be Xander's best friend, and his second son. "Yeah, stuuuupid," he answered, pressing his knuckles lightly to her forehead. "I better be invited whenever I feel like it, though."

The girl pushed herself onto her tippy toes as she whispered the gender to her best friend, her smile not breaking as she pulled away. "What we were hoping for too! It's-- It's wonderful!"

The raven took the girl into his arms and twirled her twice, then set her down, grinning like he'd heard the best news in the world. "That's great! I'm so happy for you, Nams!"

The blonde smiled as she looked up the male, placing one of his hands onto her stomach. "So, me and Riku now know the gender of our child." Namine giggled.

"My, my.. You must be quite happy, aren't you?" He left his hand there, wondering if he'd feel anything besides the bump. "So is it a boy or girl?"

"Vanitas!" Namine called as she ran towards the raven, tightly wrapping her arms around the male. "I've missed you!"

"Baby girl~" he cooed, returning her tight embrace with one of his own. It'd been a while since he'd seen her. "I missed you, too, Nams."
