5. What genre did you read the most of?

literary fiction!

12. Any books that disappointed you?

i keep my exoskeletons to myself by marisa crane. the concept seemed absolutely incredible (a single mother raises her child in a surveillance state after her wife died) but unfortunately i found the execution of it lacking. it felt shallow and directionless.

are you my mother? by alison bechdel. i hate saying this because i ADORE everything that i’ve read by her but this just wasn’t it for me.

the men by sandra newman. again, the premise was interesting but the execution was really poor.

17. Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

notes on an execution by danya kukafka! i was not prepared to love it as much as i did. it’s centred around a serial killer, but the story unfolds through the women who, in one way or another, have been impacted by his crimes, and it’s told through their perspectives, which was a brilliant approach imo. it was a thought-provoking, fascinating read.

pure colour by sheila heti. did not expect to love a book that’s, partially, about a woman who turns into a leaf. but honestly i should’ve known that it was gonna be a 10/10 book after seeing lucy dacus’ review of it on goodreads.

i’ve also read a bunch of classics for uni and i’ve enjoyed several of those way more than i expected to. in particular - medea by euripides and don quixote by cervantes.

thoughts on chomega chegnancy?

YES!!!

i go between thinking he'd be the neediest brattiest teariest omega in the whole world and thinking the chegnancy would temporarily make him very docile and meek. either way pregnant omega charles would be so beautiful and glowing that all the alphas around would be driven mad they couldn't have him...... sweetheart would be so soft and round his face would DEFINITELY get softer.... bratty emotional charles would get so irritated by his alpha constantly grabbing and pinching and petting and poking him he'd burst into tears and has to be bridal carried into the bedroom to cuddle (there will be NO comments about how heavy he is thank you very much). maybe once he's got used to the changes he would weaponize his body a LOT more.... refuses to walk anywhere, demands his alpha hand feed him whatever food he's craving, pretends to be insecure about the weight gain so his alpha will take him to bed and worship him for a few hours, etc.

on the other hand meek docile charles is SO much more submissive and blushy than normal. very quiet and serene and loves being pregnant so much. always in some sort of nest (charles' alpha brings him the softest blankets and pillows and gets stuck cuddling for hours and hours, softly kissing him and listening to his little noises of satisfaction). i think this charles would get very into feminine clothing (hormones make him want to always feel soft and pretty) so his alpha would spoil him with gifts of beautiful maternity dresses and soft pink sweaters that engulf him and gorgeous comfortable lingerie (just for charles to feel cute in himself. it's rare he wears it during sex but when he does his alpha falls into a total trance and charles has to snap him out of it with a kiss). his body is SO SOFT and curvy and plump and his alpha will pinch his soft cheeks and chin to make him whine and blush bright red......
