we! deserve! a wta! laver! cup!

i mean, just look at the wta rankings. a wta laver cup would be a lot more competitive and balanced and fun than the atp version and it would also be grounds for a bunch of great player interactions that we deserve, so i'll be going over teams :)

graf cup is named after legend steffi graf, one of three singles players in the open era to win a calendar year grand slam. the other two are rod laver, who the laver cup is named for, and margaret court, a bigot. it will be held in berlin at uber arena, same location as the atp version. yk, if this was real.

also, i have no clue how teams are made for the actual laver cup. i just made these teams because i can. i'm the tournament director of this nonexistent tournament. what are you gonna do?

― i NEED daria and natalia to give us some bomb ass graf cup vlogs. i just know they would give us the best interviews and behind the scenes look at how it all goes.

― aryna and jasmine are both great in singles and doubles so that's def something they can use to their advantage

― honestly seeing players i like interact with each other was like. a major part in selecting these teams. idk i just feel like everyone here is so lovely and amazing and that's only going to be heightened because of the not super competitive atmosphere

― i have a massive soft spot for mirra. i think everyone who knows her does. i would love to see the whole team just absolutely adoring her

― honestly i feel like all doubles permutations in this team would be so funny. if any of these people actually played doubles together (besides coco/emma/leylah with each other) i would be like "what the fuck is she playing doubles with her????" and i think that's beautiful.

― not to make too many comparisons with the laver cup but team world here isn't just america ft. canada. that shouldn't be a super tall order because this is team WORLD but we've all seen the trends for teams in the mens version.

This right here is why I exist. I was put on this earth to schill for niche TV shows that I love and I will not stop until god himself strikes me down.

It's on Netflix right now!! I'm really hoping for a Netflix bump because it's been criminally underrated for three seasons (or at least underwatched, it has a 100% critic rating on rotten tomatoes iirc).

It's honestly one of the funniest things out there right now imho, the plot centers around a 2000s girl group one-hit wonder reuniting in their 40s and trying to make the big times. It's really about female friendship and mature womanhood and following your dreams and really sharp, incisive cultural satire, but it also has a lot of really on-the-nose nostalgia if you can remember the 2000s and most of the writers and actors are also musicians (main character is played by Sara Bareilles!) so the musical references are rapid fire and span pretty much every genre. There's also a really delightful Get Back parody, too, that could only have been made by a MASSIVE Beatles fan.

hi hi! im trying to get the nerve to start drawing again and wanted to know if you have any tips or advice about drawing heads/necks/shoulders! i can never seem to get them looking right

hello hello! i'm really sorry for the late reply but aw how exciting, i'm happy to hear you want to draw again!!<333 as for tips, i'm so sorry i feel like i'm not the best at explaining bc tbh most of the time i struggle with those areas myself and don't really have a specific approach to drawing them but i think some things that help me are using references and breaking down the anatomy into very simple shapes/lines! if you're struggling to draw based on what you see, feel free to trace over a pose just to get the feeling of it! here are some specific resources/tutorials i go back to whenever i feel stuck as well:

Reading American books as a British child was confusing in a lot of ways.

For example, the whole concept of summer camp was so confusing to me. Parents would just send their kids away for months at a time, and this was supposed to be fun for the kids? My mind was boggled. I was the bullied kid at school, so summer camp just seemed like a whole new setting for bullying to occur.

We don't have mosquitos in the UK, and I'd never been abroad, so I was confused by that, too.

The terms 'nerd', 'geek', 'dweeb' and 'dork' were all used as insults, but it took me forever to figure out the nuances between them.

Garbage disposals and air conditioning are not part of UK culture, so again, child me was baffled.

Judy Blume loved putting mentions of loafers into her books, and from the context I got that they were shoes, but I had no idea what they looked like, and this was pre-home-internet, so I just imagined they looked like bread loaves.
