Since apparently they're banning Tiktok, I figured I'd post some tea.

Story below the cut:

Basically an ex-best-friend of mine got a new girlfriend last year, and out of nowhere he disappears on all my socials. I get scared, think he died or some shit (he works in the prison system so it's a very real possiblity) A mutual friend tells me it was because his girlfriend told him to block me

So, my other best-friend (the mutual) plays detective (shout-out ily bitch) and shows me screenshots of their convos, her reasoning(s) being:

Starting birth control so it made her "paranoid" (read: possessive)

Then proudly states that she made the decision for their relationship and she's "happier for it"

Finally admits it was because she had a dream where I texted him asking him out and he left her for me, so she had him block me to prevent it from coming true

She had him block me on everything, and I mean everything. Xbox, Discord, Tiktok, Facebook, Bungie.net, Blizzard.net, fucking Call of Duty, for fuck's sake.

She then proceeded to clone every group chat he was formerly in with our friend group.

Friends proceed to shit on her at every opportunity and call him a fucking asshole, and won't let either of them forget it. Especially when she's being a "pick me" and fishing for attention. Because y'know, she wants to be the only girl in the friend group.

Joke's on him, I was the only one who likes the games he plays, and am the only one up at the right hours of the night who could even possibly play them with him <3

I went through a very, very tough time for the next couple of weeks. I was depressed, I cried a lot. I thought our friendship meant something. I'm even more shocked that neither of them even sent me so much as an emoji telling me this. Just got up and blocked, like I didn't even deserve to be dignified with a heads-up.

I was still mourning the death of one of my friends, I'd just survived two hurricanes, one of which caused a tornado that fucked up my yard and house and caused a tree to fall on it with us inside.

I am still struggling with getting back into the games and franchises I used to love because they're tainted with the good memories I made with that friend on them.

But recently, Tiktok has been telling me that certain someone (as petty as I may be, I don't want anyone to flood her inbox) views my Tiktok several times a week. I finally get curious to see who is looking at my stuff--

And wouldn't you know? It's her! The crazy lady who treats her bad dreams like prophecies!

And thanks to my actual friends, who supported me in being a petty bitch and encouraging me to do something to let her know I see. Every. Single. Time. She views. My profile. Because she doesn't have me blocked, and I don't have her blocked (tbf I didn't know her Tiktok at all before this, I only recognized her through the videos she posted of her and the ex-friend)

So I made this as a.... gentle reminder.

brew talks: another fic, this time set in pre relationship era🫣. thanks to the one and only @multicolorlou for emotional support and encouraging me to keep making more content (and obviously for giving me more ideas) – ILY POOKIE🥰💗‼️

knocking on the door, followed by the soft ring bell, pulled William Steve out from sleep. he rubbed his face and stood up after a moment going towards the door. on his way he glanced over the clock. 2:26 AM. great. he frowned while opening the door; although his grimace disappeared as soon as he looked down, noticing short woman, soaked wet from the rain. her hair that was previously neatly curled now sticking to her face, hands awkwardly pressed against her sides, small bag on one of her shoulders. her dress also not in the best condition as rain stained it completely, now the fabric sticking uncomfortably to her body. and her glasses fully covered in rain drops - he noticed, as she looked up awkwardly.

“sorry i was, uhh… late for my bus and i didn’t wanted to wait a few hours for another one in the rain and i know only you in the area-“

William Steve frowned, but in a more worried way this time, moving to the side, gently pulling her inside by her shoulder.

“Nela, come on… you’ll get sick.”

she gave him a small, thin smile, quickly coming in. she tried to desperately fix her appearance but dropped the attempt as soon as she felt that her wet hands made her hair look even more messy.

“wait in the living room, i’ll be right back.”

William Steve said softly, still a bit sleepy. She knew her way around his house so well by now. she visited him many times; for coffee, work or to take care of his place when her ‘favourite coworker’ was away.

she stood awkwardly near his couch, not wanting to stain it with her wet clothes. she turned towards him as he came back with a towel, shirt and a pair of dress pants, holding them out towards her.

“go change, you can put your clothes in the dryer until you’ll have to go. maybe they’ll dry a bit until then.” he rubbed his chin, giving her a small smile.

she nodded in return and after kicking off her heels she quickly rushed towards the bathroom, changing into borrowed clothes and leaving her dress to dry. she came back still softly drying her hair with a towel.

“thank you and- i’m sorry, i know it’s late-“

“it’s okay.” he smiled as he interrupted her apology, not even letting her to finish it; leaning against the back of the couch he stood next to. “tea? coffee?”

“tea, please.” she smiled gratefully yet still a bit awkwardly, sitting on the couch as he entered the kitchen to pour the liquid.

“what happened?” he asked as he set down a cup of warm tea in front of her on the coffee table.

“i wanted to leave the party sooner, messed up the time when my bus arrives… and it started to rain.” she explained sipping on the drink.

ah. yes, the party. company party william was supposed to attend before he cancelled last minute. he frowned.

“i thought you weren’t going?” he asked and she just shrugged in response.

“yeah. i thought the party would be better, but it was a bit too much… and i got bored halfway through so-“

“i’m sorry it didn’t turned out how you expected it to.” he sat down in the chair next to her.

“that’s okay… i don’t like parties and people mindlessly drinking all night anyway…” she scoffed at the memory of their mutual coworkers tonight. William Steve just continued to frown.

“so… why did you go in the first place?” he asked in further confusion.

“well- you were supposed to be there too.” she looked up at him.

“oh. ohh.” his expression softened as he straightened form his hunched position. finally realising.

“yeah…” she smiled awkwardly and looked down again at her tea before taking another sip.

“i’m sorry. i should’ve told you.”

“no, that’s okay.” she shrugged, smiling softly. “i should go soon-“

“no, that’s—“ he stood up before she did, placing his hands on her shoulders to keep her on the couch. “—that’s okay, i’ll get bed ready for you. it’s already late, have some sleep and I’ll drive you back home in the morning… alright?” he looked down at her, slightly hunched to her level.

she smiled, nodding a bit as she leaned back against the couch, cup of tea in her hands.

“alright.”

William Steve nodded, already going upstairs to change sheets for her.

“hey Steve?” she called after him, stopping him for a moment as he turned around before reaching the stairs. “thank you. i mean it.”

he just smiled warmly at her before turning around to go prepare the bed for her, leaving her with a soft smile on her face as she thanked herself for going to that damn party after all.

Would love to know some of your hcs about Perla🩷 I really wish we got to know more of her

LITERALLY. Like they give hints but not much, it makes me so mad at times. Anyway, prepare for rambling!

- Canonically she was born in 1922, I have her down as an August birthday (idk when exactly). Not sure where she’s from yet, might be from elsewhere in Louisiana or from Georgia (like FJ)

- to me she looks vaguely like Eartha Kitt! Not the same, but some overlap

- this song is just… so her to me. She’s a performer who can fake being charismatic (in reality, she’s more reserved) but even in her performances, she can’t hide the idealism inside her

- generally the more down-to-earth one compared to Sammy’s false “fatherhood” tactic— she can’t stop Sammy nor the boys he brings, but she tries to show kindness where she can

- genuinely tries to help Delray Hollow as much as possible by funding the arts and community outreach (this is also canon, fun fact!)

- I associate her with purple compared to the lighter green seen in the mural. Idk why, I just think purple suits my vision of her better

- Her and Virginia make a lot of jokes about their husbands. It’s more like Virginia bitches about things and Perla listens (and laughs when Virginia makes a good joke) but hey, it works for them

- tried to get Ellis (and later Lincoln) into theatre; Ellis liked it fine, Lincoln…. well he’s better as a part of the crew if anything

- there are hints that she might’ve been a hoodoo practitioner in canon, and she very likely hid it from Sammy (as hoodoo is commonly associated with Haiti)— Ellis never cared about it but Lincoln learned at least a few fragments

17. “Quick, kiss me!”

You agreed to go with the guys to one of Benny’s fights, the last of the season. When you arrived at the venue, the place was packed, but luckily Benny had reserved front row seats for all of you.

You sit beside Frankie and hand him the cup of cold beer, filled to the brim. “Here you go.”

“Thank you.” he says with a smile, taking the cup from your hand and bringing it to his mouth.

His eyes scan the crowd for a moment, and he almost chokes on his drink when he spots a familiar face. Lowering the bill of his baseball cap, Frankie takes another sip of beer before placing the cup on the ground, between his feet.

His sudden change in behavior doesn’t get unnoticed, so you glance at the crowd sitting on the other side to see if you can recognize anyone.

“Is everything okay, Fish?” you ask, searching his gaze.

“Uhm, yeah.” he murmurs as he tilts his head to the other side and shields his face with his left hand.

You sigh and cross your arms. “Frankie, come on...”

He takes a deep breath and glances at you from under his cap. “You see the lady with the red leather jacket?”

You look ahead, squinting a little, until you notice a very pretty woman — probably ten years older than you — who’s wearing a red leather jacket. She has her hair in a high ponytail and she’s talking to a bald man.

“Yeah, she’s really pretty.”

“She... she’s my ex girlfriend.” he tells you, embarrassed.

You remain silent for a moment, and observe her again for a few seconds.

“Are you scared of her?”

“No,” he huffs, frustrated. “I just... don’t want her to see me.”

“Seems unlikely.”

“What? Why?”

“Because she’s staring at you. Right now.”

“Fuck.” he curses under his breath. “Why the fuck is she even here?”

“I don’t know.” you shrug your shoulders and glance at her again. She raises from her seat and meets your gaze for a split second before she starts to walk, rounding the corner of the ring to come in your direction. “Um, she’s now walking towards us.”

“Shit.” he hisses, lifting his head ever so slightly to watch her. “She’s getting closer.”

“Come on, do something.” you encourage him.

“What should I do? I cannot teleport!” he turns to you, no longer shielding himself with the bill of his cap or his hand. “Help me!”

You look around nervously, trying to find a way out. Then, it hits you.

“Quick, kiss me!” you practically blurt out, eyes wide as you look at him.

Frankie blinks rapidly at your words, and he clears his throat before cupping the back of your neck to pull you in for a kiss. The moment his lips touch yours, you instantly melt against him, sighing into his mouth when you feel his other hand on your hip.

Your hands slide under his jacket and rest on his chest, and you can feel his racing heart under your palm. It feels heavenly, the taste of him mixed with the beer is a dangerous combination that you know you’ll end up craving, and the way he holds you makes your head spin.

When your mouths part, it feels like time has stopped. His brown eyes dart back and forth between yours, mouth agape as he keeps you impossibly close to him.

“Is she...” he whispers, his warm breath grazing your chin.

“Gone? Yeah, I think so.”

He keeps staring at your lips, swollen and begging to be kissed again.

“Frankie I—” you begin, but the words never leave your mouth because he captures it again with his own, leaving you lightheaded and breathless. You have wanted to kiss him for so long, and now, you never want to stop.

Your hands find purchase on his shoulders, and one of them slides up until it reaches the curls at the back of his head. Your thread your fingers through his hair as you savour his mouth again, and it’s addictive, it’s everything, it’s... Frankie.

“Kiss you.” he sighs when he pulls away. “I’ve always wondered how it would feel like.” he confesses as he caresses your cheek gently.

“How — how does it feel like?” you ask him, your eyes never leaving his.

“Like I am finally doing something right.”
