(WARNING!!!: This blog is based on my personal opinion that nobody cares, if you are going to criticize, please do it respectfully).

The last decade, which is the 2010s, has been such a weird decade... Who doesn't remember Nicki Minaj's colorful looks in her debut era or Selena Gomez's cute looks during the early 2010s?

Well... the truth is, the fashion of the 2010s is very rare and very chaotic, that's why today we are going to analyze it.

(If anyone from the 2030s is watching this, please DON'T BRING THE 2010s FASHION AGAIN!!).

Early 2010s (2010-2013).

It could be said that the looks of the early 2010s are the most "weird" so to speak.

During this time, the revival of the 80s continued to be seen, which resurfaced at the end of the 2000s. The music of the moment was also the electronic Dance Pop that Lady Gaga and other singers imposed in the late 2000s, for example:

Skinny Jeans (colored or basic), sunglasses (Kanye West or LMFAO), for some strange reason vests were used a lot and some outfits could have been inspired by Kesha:

Mid 2010s (2014-2016)

Here everything begins to get extremely rare. Thanks to the heyday of the internet, everyone could choose outfits to look better (Which most of the time made us look like Y/N from Wattpad), here the high waist begins to dominate, leaving aside the medium waist and the low waist (Here I want to emphasize: Currently the high waist looks too weird in some looks, I mean it's not that I hate the high waist but... I think that in the future ultra high waist pants will look something like this:

I like to call this era the "Kardashian Era."

Because the Kardashians were everywhere, personally the fashion of the mid 2010s already gets too confusing, on the one hand the Aesthetics appear.

I don't know why but the fashion of the mid 2010s yells "DESCENDANTS" at me, I think it was because in the mid 2010s, I was in elementary school, and EVERYONE was talking about Descendants,  And something that I almost forgot to mention, I think that in the mid 2010s the revival of the 90s began (Mom Jeans, blouses, dresses with shirts and etc...)

Late 2010s (2017-2019)

During the late 2010s, skinny jeans became one of the things I hated the most, I remember that whenever I ran, my damn skinny jeans would rip! But hey, let's stop the hate.... Let's continue with the blog.

During the late 2010s wide leg jeans started to be seen (In response to the excessive use of Leggins, Jeggins and Skinny Jeans in this decade), the looks could be said to be a very different thing from the early 2010s and mid 2010s.

During the late 2010s, the revival of the 90s continued to be seen, platform shoes and many 90s trends began to be seen.

Random: The other day, I was talking to a longtime friend and we talked about skinny jeans, she told me:

"How the hell did we get those jeans to fit us?"

Conclution:

Despite being the decade where the internet had a change TOO fast, it was one of the very strange and confusing decades for fashion, if you compare the fashion of 2010, with the fashion of 2015 and 2019 you will notice a great change, but despite all its flaws, thanks to this decade we learned many things.

Currently reading: Short answer: The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. I haven’t read much since middle school and I’m trying to get back into it. I watched a Youtuber talk about his favorite books over the last year (he read 45!) and he said as a writer, reading is the closest thing to an apprenticeship you can get. But I don’t like reading, so it’s proving difficult. Being broke, though, has made it so I don’t want to purchase books when I don’t think I’ll like them, because then I’m out an increasing amount of money that I don’t have to spend. So I’ve gotten a library card, but my library doesn’t have all the books I’m finding, so when I get the desire to read a certain one and I can’t, then I just... add other ones to my list and never pick one to read. I acquired The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie and I’m not enjoying it because it’s too edgelord and gory for my tastes, but it’s the one I invested in for now. Also my husband was home on summer break, so I couldn’t really read while he was home. And the library loans are 2 weeks. I also tried to read a Jane Austen book and there was a sentence that went on for an entire paragraph in like... 1800s fancy English and I couldn’t do it. So I figured I’d grab the audiobook at some point.

Last song: Short Answer: I have no idea. A Youtube compilation of City Pop. I don’t listen to Spotify because of ads and I can’t curate it myself, so I listen to a lot of Youtube compilations. I love the Japanese 80s City Pop, the one popularized by Mariya Takeuchi’s Plastic Love. I also enjoy the like 2hr long compilations of video game music, or piano medleys of video game music, or covers. I listen to them while I write because I can’t process auditory words and writing words at the same time, so the instrumentals and foreign language don’t bother me. Kanye just released another album and my husband likes him, so he was trying to make me listen to all of Kanye’s discography, so I might’ve been subjected to that if my husband hadn’t realized I didn’t like Kanye after all his good albums.

Last movie: Short answer: I don’t remember, actually! So, my husband and I probably went to see Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker in theatres here in Japan, but as for a movie on, like, Netflix or something... Probably Spiderman Far From Home? Or maybe something else I don’t remember. We watch a lot of series, either on Netflix or an anime site. There’s plenty of long-form Youtube video essays, but I wouldn’t count those as movies...

Last series: Short answer: Star Trek Deep Space Nine Before that it was My Little Ponies, The Chair, Star Trek Voyager, and... Boku no Hero Academia. Star Trek DS9 became our comfort watch for a while. It’s very philosophical and relaxed and character focused. My husband really digs it. And I loved it as a kid. And I remember loving Voyager, but upon rewatching it, Voyager is way different than I remember.

Craving: Short answer: Chocolate. Always chocolate. Sometimes I crave other things like Coco’s curry or American chinese or American Ramen or Chef Boyardee or other stuff, but right now, I just wanna stuff my face with Arnott’s Tim Tams.

Coffee or Tea: Short answer: no thanks. My husband started to drink a little coffee every day to stay awake at school. In solidarity, I asked if maybe I should start trying coffee so he wasn’t alone. We stopped at a rest area along the toll road between Yamaguchi and Chiba (I don’t remember where) and got me a Cafe au Lait from a vending machine. I readied myself for it to be gross, since I’ve always hated coffee, but it tasted like chocolate and smelled like the best parts of coffee smells. Now I can tolerate a latte, but that’s as far as I’ll go down on the milk content. As for tea? I hate pretty much all teas except for dumb Crystal Light Peach Tea or Peach Mango Green Tea. It’s really difficult to live in a country with a million different bottles teas and coffees and I hate all of them. I usually grab a Salty Lychee or a Coke Zero if we get a beverage at the konbini. Or, lately, a Protein Drink or something as a meal replacement.

Currently working on: My WIP I have affectionately called Zodiac. It is a multi-book epic elephant of a series that I am feeding every day with more ideas. I don’t know if I’ll ever start eating it.

you and suga are both the mom/older sibling friends of your friend groups, so you guys were drawn to each other with the mutual just annoyance of having to handle so many children. he was really happy to meet you, because you are like the only person that he knows who is somewhat mature and he needs you to stay sane.

you guys often have study dates, and you both actually study pretty well, with light conversation and sappy 80s songs playing in the background to break up the silence. suga usually gets bored of studying if he’s covered everything that he needs to cover, and then he will go over to you and lowkey bother you until you go watch a movie or just vibe with him.

one of your most memorable dates you had with him was an almost perfect picnic date. the weather was warm, and there were like no people at the park you guys went to eat, and all the food was really good. you guys just talked and made stupid jokes the entire time, while trying new food combos and doing the eating a cake out of a glass tik tok trend. the whole date was super chill, but really romantic at the same time.

every few weeks, you guys have a movie night, where you jokingly argue over what movie to watch, and then you and suga try to see who can catch the most popcorn in their mouth (you guys both are pretty bad at it). if you want, you guys will do facemasks, and just laugh and have fun with each other while the movie plays in the background.

one of suga’s love languages is touch, so if you guys are together, he will always have an arm wrapped around your shoulder or waist. his favorite form of pda is when you guys lock pinkies while walking, because it’s a lowkey way of showing everyone that you are his, while still being cute and romantic.

he likes to make playlists for you, and they always are super upbeat and will put a smile on your face just from the pure vibes they give off. if he ever sees you listening to them, he will get really happy that you actually liked it, and then he will add more songs to it just to surprise you the next time you listen to it.

suga likes to draw as well, and will often make small sketches of you and say something smooth like “i tried to make the drawing as pretty as you are in real life, but that’s impossible”, and he will be secretly proud if he gets a reaction out of you. he will keep everything you draw for him, and look at them whenever he is missing you.

you are always able to make him laugh, no matter where you guys are. if you and suga are in the same class, you would be joking around when the teacher was talking, and he would literally laugh out loud, and everyone would hear him. he has gotten in trouble many times, and he always pretends to be mad at you for getting him in trouble, but he really thinks it’s funny to see you try to apologize.

sugawara is your #1 hype man, like you could be doing the simplest thing, or wearing the most boring outfit, and he would tell you that you are a literal goddess and just make you feel like the baddest bitch ever (as you should). if you are ever going to put extra effort into an outfit, he would want to match with you so you guys can be an aesthetic couple together.

overall, you and suga are always able to put a smile on everyone’s faces, especially each others. he loves you so much, and would never think of cheating on you. people envy you guys for the trust you both have in each other, and how aesthetic your dates are. (god tier picnic dates i tell you).
