It shocked me to find out that Yechan was the oldest and I love it. I really like his energy! He was actually what initially drew me to the band! I was aware that there was a band that had a violin and as someone who has played it from a very young age I was interested but I never actually did anything with that info lol. Then when boogie man came out, it came up on my yt and I decided to watch it. Fell in love with it, but when Yechan's solo came up I was so impressed (I made my mum watch it too, she taught me violin lol). I then decided to listen to more of their music and fell in love with them and here we are lol.

It pains me to think that I will never meet a man like Sangyeop in real life 😭 He really does seem like the best. How is he even real??

Wonsang really is the cutest oh my goodness. I love him so much! I showed my dad one of his bass solos (my dad plays bass, drums, guitar) and he was disgusted but impressed that he could play a 6! String! Bass! with such ease and sound so good. They really are a stupidly talented group, what I give to have even a smidge of their talent 😭

Now that you've said it I do kind of get boomer vibes off Gwangil ahaha. I love how goofy he is, but I also completely relate to him cringing at the others (I had the same reaction to aegihae(?) ahaha)

I'm happy to say that I have listened to most of the songs that you suggested! The solo in you're right is absolute perfection! I love how they have such a wide range of songs and sounds and somehow they suit them all! I've heard some of the solo songs (I am emotionally attached to the intro of domino), but I will definitely listen to the rest of them!

actually an ex-friend of mine got me into them. originally i think she showed me flowering but that wasn't enough for me to stan them. what got me was snooze/play because i stanned right when play came out. i still cry when i hear play lol. idk why i didn't stan just cause of flowering?? to this day i feel like i have to be in the right mood to listen to it, its never been a favourite of mine in lucy's discography but i do appreciate it. i've also watched Superband for lucy and god wonsang is such a genius, watching it probably tripled my respect for him :( the way he arranged everything and made lucy unique from the other bands there by adding ambient noise to their covers and then eventually their original songs just gets me every time 😭 i love him (i'm so subtle abt the bias aren't i?)

yechan is so impressive!! he's also part of the reason that i was especially interested after my friend showed me some stuff because yechan is classically trained and before kpop i was always into classical music because of my dad. i played piano (mostly bach & scarlatti) so i loved seeing a band that incorporated a more classical instrument into a band setting.

THIS tbh like how is sangyeop real hes literally such a sweetheart and HIS VOICE. his personality offstage and his charisma on stage genuinely makes my mind spin. idk if you've seen the live performance of never in vain in particular but istg he was on something that day 🧍‍♀️ and i did not survive it lol

wonsang is literally insane... i love everything about him, his talent, his personality, his adorable little laugh. he's not real like i'm convinced i made him up cause NO WAY. even his singing voice is so nice and cute :( if you go to his instagram he has a lot of short little covers on there too and i just.... yeah he's really insane god. (also would recommend you watch the live clip of enough because wonsang plays a double bass in that and i may be very in love with him....)

lmao i had no other way to even describe it other than boomer 😭😭 he's just got an old soul and i feel him so much. but i swear he is so underrated in the group :( seeing him on Superband, he originally auditioned as a vocalist and could play guitar as well. and throughout the show he played bass, keys, and eventually landed on drums because the team needed a drummer and he had a tiny bit of past experience. the fact that hes the drummer for the team now is ???? and he sings and plays the drums at the same time LIKE THATS SO FUCKING HARD TO DO MY RESPECT FOR HIM IS INSANE.

and if you ever are interested in watching superband (would recommend it if you like band music, it's great and not as toxic and competitive as other survival shows. the panel of judges was great too, including suhyun from akmu who i adore) i have the google drive with all episodes subbed <3 there are some legendary lucy performances on there and some of my other favourite band men (mainly ha hyunsang who has the best voice ever. he performed viva la vida in a team with yechan during the first round and they're still friends to this day i believe. sometimes they perform the song again lol their arrangement was so good and hyunsang's voice was just perfect for it)

re: sea shanties, i think i know a resource that might help? thelongestsong(.)fandom(.)com is technically a wiki about a specific shanty band, but if you go to lyrics and albums-> lyrics by song title, there's the lyrics to every song they've performed, plus a bit of context/history about each song! what i like about this specifically is that you can find video of them singing the songs, in contrast to more historical shanty databases, where it's just the lyrics. sorry, i rly like shanties lol

so like i just got into kpop a year ago so I know a bit abt twice and even less about loona.

for me, i personally divide twice songs into their early cutesy concept, their current mature n refreshing concept, and then their (slightly) "darker" concept. i'm not rly involved in the twice fandom, so i don't know if these are widely agreed-on categorizations, just my personal ones. there are also songs that don't fit into any of these concepts, but for the sake of length, i've skipped over them. heart attack by loona gives kinda cutesy vibes, so a few twice songs from their cute era might be your vibe, and then the feels is from their more refreshing era (e.g. right now). my personal favorite is their darker concept. here are some good songs from each era:

cutesy: knock knock, likey, cheer up, tt, what is love

refreshing: the feels, perfect world, alcohol-free

"darker": cry for me, more & more, hell in heaven

all of these also have mvs, except hell in heaven. my absolute fav videos are the mv for more & more and the kelly clarkson performance (not the mv :0) of cry for me.

as for loona, i've only listened to a few of their songs, but heart attack might have similar upbeat vibes to hi high, hula hoop. some of their more popular ones that i've also listened to include why not?, so what, and PTT (paint the town). also if you haven't seen the mv for heart attack yet, you should bc it's cute n gay. actually i assumed that was one of the reasons why you liked it - it's actually how i got into loona LOL.

are you experienced (the jimi hendrix experience). the quintessential late 60s psychedelic rock album! a lot of classics on here as well as less overplayed gems

led zeppelin 1. a great example of a concept album. every time i listen it’s like i’m hearing it all over again for the first time. i have this one on vinyl and it’s one of my most precious records :)

now this one wasn’t in my initial recommendations but i’m also gonna recommend the album deep purple in rock by deep purple :^) to me, it sounds like a musical marriage between zep and hendrix. how about you? apart from the beatles' albums, what are your top 3 albums atm?

yep, my collection is growing very slowly too! my main concern is how the record sounds bc i listen to them pretty often but usually i aim for the earliest pressings i can find. too bad it's practically impossible to find original beatles editions. i still remember seeing a uk mono copy of meet the beatles in a local shop, meaning it was the original press probably, and it wasn't even crazily expensive but i still didn't have enough money and eventually someone bought it before me. i'm still so salty about it lmao

and yes i love colored vinyl too! if only i could get my hands on those modern fancy pressings ugh. so far i only have two colored records, a red 1962-1966 and a blue abbey road. i kinda regretted getting AR since it's obviously a modern bootleg but it doesn't sound too bad (for a bootleg at least) and the shade is almost exactly like the blue 1967-1970 i wanted to get. it was another case of someone buying it before me 😭 tbh that shade was the deciding factor for me lmao

by the way, if you want something kinda similar to colored vinyl: some original uk copies of elton john albums from 1969 to 1975 are black but appear translucent red when held up to light! and there were a lot of them pressed so they shouldn't be too expensive or hard to find. it was a very cool discovery i accidentally made

i hope you'll enjoy the films, i love both of them! and as for th&t.... well like i said it's in no way perfect but definitely not bad! esp given the circumstances in which it was made. there are so many themes, dynamics and emotions they could explore deeper and further but i suppose they just did the best they could. so if you're interested in the relationship between john and brian i think you should give it a try for at least one point of view on the spanish holiday that in my opinion could very well be pretty close to reality.

i finished the show wednesday (on netflix) recently and i liked it!! i love the dark school theme lol and it was an enjoyable watch. i also saw that season 2 of alice in borderland is coming soon so i'm excited for that (i rly liked season 1, if you're okay with blood and stuff - similar to squid game?). i also enjoy kdramas, and some good ones i watched in the last few months are beyond evil and my name. okay looking back at my recs it makes it seem like i only watch dark shows all the time hahaha, i also really like dragon prince on netflix - it's an animated show and super cute and fun!!
